Oxford main targets that I've heard.
Wilder has said in the Oxford mail that he wants to sign a RB, CB 2xLB 2 left footed centre midfielders and 1 right footer, a tall target man and a quick goal poacher.
Oxford have already signed a left back come midfielder in Jon Meades.

Richards and Benson could be the kind of players we need. the consensus is that the club will offer O'Brien a contract imminently.

We're only offering O'Brien a contract if he's willing to move down here full time, which he's unsure about. His wife and 2 young kids live in Bradford. We are going to talk to other players in his position too.
I don't think he's coming back. He also talkin to other clubs

This one is true. Turned down a chance to stay at Oldham to sign a (very) long-term deal at Oxford.

Won't be announced for a while mind

Would be amazed if we or any league 2 team singed Korey Smith, just cannot see it happening.

Wish Korey the best wherever he goes, great servant to Norwich and whoever gets him, being a championship or a Conferance team, he will do well

Korey did Norwich proud and played a big part in Norwich's recent rise to the PL, just unfortunate for him the speed of NCFC's rise, good luck Korey wherever to ply your trade

A bit too good for this level. Quite a coup if Oxford pull this off, however he hasn't played much football recently and isn't a high profile player so it could be plausible.

If Oxford got him on a long term deal that would be really positive for the club, as he is the kind of player who would attract much interest from higher leagues if he hit form and could attract a decent fee

Korey Smith is a decent player will do well wherever he goes outside the Premier

Would be the signing of the summer for league 2! unfortunately can't see it happening!
But if Yeovil and Oldham could afford his wages, i'm sure we could, and the long term deals we're offering could tempt him. Especially as he's from Hatfield, only an hour away from Oxford.

Remember money is tight so would not imagine that all 5 will make it, especially given that some would command compensation for their former clubs.

Enjoy paying for Leven's wages if money's tight.

Leven was on around £3k a week at oxford, far too much for someone who spends most of his time injured. However if you can keep him fit, he could do the job in the championship. Not sure he will end up at Plymouth, they have less money that OUFC. I would say Portsmouth would be more likely if they wanted a CM

Oxford united set to sign akinfenwa from northampton on a free and rene howe also free jake wright has interest in him from ipswich town.

Walder said he wanted a target man and a goal poacher howe and akinfenwa are both target men, so why would walder get both

Oxford been turned down by a number of players in last few days don't expect anything happening soon its acase of tear up wanted list and start again just like the kassam pitch.

We won't be signing 2 big strong target men!
we've already said, we're after one target man and one quick goal poacher

However if we did sign these two I wouldn't moan. Akinfenwa, Howe and Constable up top would be a force to be reckoned with!

There has been claims that Connolly won't come Preston due to wages so he defiantly won't be going Plymouth. Same with SEB.

Funny that people can't see this is a wind up post. They're all former players and Argyle fans have a habit of linking us with former players, (mostly players we have no chance of getting as shown above).

That's a list of ex argyle players releases, why would we want Hayles who's nearly 41 and recently playing for truro

Why is it Argyle only get linked with Ex Argyle players or loanees.
Connolly, Buzsaky, Ebanks-Blake will cost to much in wages and won't play in league 2, realistically Doumbe and Clifford are the only decent ones

It's very quiet on the PAFC front at the moment and its a bit of a worry. Are we signing anyone?

Will Baz and Conor resign?

Can't see Conor going to Yeovil now there in Championship, needs couple more years first.

Oxford are set to make a bid for forma player Chrissy Hackett who lost in the play off final with current club Northampton Town. 50K is what Northampton want for him.

Not at £50K. has loyalty to the club, but its not likely he will come back

Hackett is worth every penny some ox fans have no ambition. Don't think it will happen though

Chris Hackett was desperate to re join Oxford last summer, and Oxford turned him down.
He has 1 more yr left at Cobblers, they'd want more 50k as he's one of the best wingers in LG2. and Wilder has listed the 9 positions he wants to sign. A winger is not one of them. there's no truth in this at all.

we are a top lg2 team.

Are we a top league 2 team? We have finished 12th 10th and 9th in the 3 seasons back up. We ain't been a top league 2 team or finished higher than 9th in LG2 since we got relegated in league 1 in 2001!

We're a top league 2 team in the sense we're one of the biggest clubs in league 2. Bradford finished bottom half of the table a few seasons, still a huge club in league 2.

Jon Meades will turn his back on Oxford United to sign for AFC Wimbledon. The versatile player had a successful loan spell at the club, and both parties are interested in making the move permanent. Meades played 26 times for the dons, including scoring 1 goal.

Good riddance to any players at Afc Wimbledon that opt to join other clubs. We want players who want to play for us and I always think there better options out there. Hope we checking out the cream of Barnet and conference sides that missed out on promotion as well as released players from top clubs. This is the blend we need and players who are out to prove themselves

I'd say the "unbelievable" part will be length. We've not got a huge budget and are looking to get players in on long-term contracts now. Players like the knowledge they're guaranteed a job for a long time.

Oxford are losing £500,000 a year, doubt they will pay much more than us. could mean a higher club is in for him, hope Neal Ardley can persuade him

Cadogen and Hyde from aldershot and barnet might be good prospects. Tory Brown was recently followed my Simon Bassey on twitter, doesn't mean much much that could mean we are in talks? Just speculating.

Within 2 years i'd like to see us having 5 players who have come through the youth ranks in the first team squad. For us to develop we are also going to need a star player come through that commands a big transfer fee to a team in the higher leagues. Only then can we buy and sell and wheel and deal to get a team strong in every department. Do think we need a lot of players now seeing who has gone and the only one I disagreed with going was Asano as he played so good against Fleetwood. We need a big target man upfront a top centre back to be next to Bennett and a tricky winger would be nice.

Also saw Bassey is following Danny Hylton recently to, like you say might mean nothing

Jim Fenlon was allegedly attracting interest in January from prem and championship clubs, he's our star player

Banbury United winger kynan Isaac will be on trial at Plymouth argyle during the summer, the ex reading winger who has previously had trials at Pompey and Ipswich.

Also being looked at is Oxford city's Brazilian forward (cannot remember his name!) who has been on trial at Fulham last season.

They're hopeful of signing,
LB Chris Hussey
CM's Darren Carter Tom Soares
and have shown CF Rene Howe around the facilities, but he's also talking to LG1 clubs.
The club have been turned down by a couple of players who Wilder wanted.
No truth at all in Matt Tubbs joining on loan!

Chris Hussey great attacking but poor defending. Beware!

Pretty glad Carter has left Cheltenham. He's past his sell by date, knowhere near the level he used to be at.

Ogogo has not been released, so not a free agent! He is out of contract at the end of June, if he doesn't sign a new deal.

So he is free to talk to other clubs and sign for them, when his contract ends. So he is basically out of contract!
