Having narrowly missed out to former rivals bristol city in signing the highly rated luke freeman, rovers will now turn there attention to tying up a deal for another unnamed gloucester city player [also believed to be a left midfielder/winger like freeman]

Torquay and York interested in Portsmouth striker Patrick Agyemang.

Londonermendez00

Please take him, can't play a full 90 minutes anymore, and definitely isn't a goalscorer either.

With the possibility of Reuben Reid coming into Fratton Park over the next few weeks it is believed that Patrick Agyemang could be heading for the exit door with Torquay United heavily linked with the big Ghanaian front man who Chris Hargreaves believes is the man to help fire the Gulls back into the Football League

Apparently a host of league 1 and 2 clubs are interested on signing Bournemouth 18 year old starlet Baily Cargill on loan next season after impressing on loan ventures to welling, and most recently Torquay where he made his league debut in the first of there back to back wins.

I would personally Howe to continue his trimming of the squad, and as long as we keep the core players, cook, o'kane, francis (quality), ritchie, grabbs, etc. Start to use players like cargill and the Impressive 17 year old sam matthews in the squad.

In other AFCB news outs (this is speculative):

Addison - Rotherham?
Tubbs - Crawley
Jalal - Bury
Partington - WHo would have him he is so injury prone
Flahavan - end f contract I think
Macdonald - really like him, but think he will go for first team football
Pitman - Great league one player, really hope he van make championship. Still a hero after the great escape and all.

Ins?

Who knows.

I hope for a young 6ft plus striker so that Kermo can impart all his knowledge onto him, (stockley is an enigma who could be brilliant but didn't make a good enough use of his loan at torquay. )

Cheers

AFCB Swift

Pretty much agree with your post. I'd love to see Terrance Boyd. We certainly need another striker, and as clubs were going out of their way to crock Yann, back up, or even a striker Yann's size so Eddie can rotate, is a must! We need at least 3 Premier quality players. I can't imagine anyone wanting to leave, it's a hell of a squad, a very close knit dressing room, and next season, anything is possible. I'd hope, they would all want to be part of what's going on! UTCIAD

AFC Wimbledon have already drawn up a list of potential targets to boost their chances of making a push for the playoffs next season.

Should Torquay be relegated from League Two, Wimbledon would like to be at the front of the queue to sign midfielder Damon Lathrope, who will be a free agent in the summer.

The Dons will also make similar moves in the summer for Wycombe's Dean Morgan, Portsmouth's Adam Webster and Bondz N'Gala, Northampton's Alan Connell, and also Gillingham's Adebayo Akinfenwa (who almost joined the club last summer). All of whom are out of contract at their respective clubs in a few months.

Wimbledon have also been keeping tabs on two players from local side Sutton United. Utility player Micky Spillane and former Wales international goalkeeper Jason Brown have impressed the Dons scouting team, and both have been in good form for the high-flying Conference South side. Both players have dropped down to non-league this season, but have plenty of experience playing in the Football League.

Would be a clever move, Sturrock has an amazing record in the lower leagues, Plymouth were in a similar position when he had his first spell at Home Park.
I really hope this happens, good for both parties!

Heard today off of a close friend that both Barnet's Keanu Marsh-Brown and Jake Hyde are attracting interest off several league clubs, York, Plymouth and Torquay to name a few.

Jake Hyde would be a good signing not so sure about Keanu Marsh-Brown

30 Aug 2013 11:38:06
jake hyde to plymouth would be good signing!

Would like to see both at Plymouth we need a spare winger and striker with Matt Lecointe injured and we know he can score in league 2. We don't have a spare winger to cover for Alessandra and Boco so would be happy if Marsh-Brown also joined.

30 Aug 2013 14:42:59
Barnet are looking for a good fee though. i'd say at least 80k

Hyde as a release cause if a league club wants him

80k for the pair is a bargain! What's Hyde's release clause?

30 Aug 2013 23:49:53
As soon as Barnet got Relegated I wanted Hyde at Plymouth! Would be a great signing!

It's free because their non league now

They do want a fee for both of thrn

Please bring in hyde plymouth! we still need a striker like him. morgan and reid are okay but can't see them scoring more then 8/9 goals.

Torquay Should Sign Both Of Them

York City could not afford the price tag for Jake Hyde.

Aston Villa are poised to bid 250k + add ons for Swindon youngster miles Storey, the scout was at the CG on Tuesday night for the Torquay game, his words were the lad changed the game when he came on.

Aston Villa should sack him then, because Storey far from changed the game.

Very good young player would cost a lot more than that

No chance. Not for 250k.

Setting up the only goal didn't change the game? Jesus wept

I don't think they would get him for 250k but he did have an impact on the game

Why not? We sold Ritchie for peanuts, flint for next to nothing and let Ferry go for nothing. Won't be surprised to see another gem go cheaply.

Well Ferry anf Flint are hardly gems

Miles Storey didn't not look up to the task on Saturday as very easily knocked off the ball and when he does have the ball he is clueless. No chance he will be playing prem league footy he will be lucky to still be playing as high a level as league one this time next year.

08 Aug 2013 13:20:34
Mark Cooper has been given 5 games by the board to prove he has the credentials to be the next manager of Swindon. If he fails to impress then Les Ferdinand will be appointed, he was in the directors box once again for the Torquay game on Tuesday night and this deal has been in place for some time.

I'm afraid your well off the mark. Les was only there because of his Youth involvement at Spurs.

Mark Cooper will be named as Manager. As long as the players continue to grow and develop and success is reasonable, Mark Cooper will be the Swindon Manager by the 31st Aug this year. I know because as I've posted on here before my closest friend who I had a relationship with worked there and is still friends with lots of the Marketing team.

Les is probably there to see the four players on loan from the Spurs development side he coaches?

Sounds like the board are interested in a mid table finish (or worse) then if this is true. can't believe they would interview all those managers and then appoint cooper. you have to pay a bit more to get a good manager. this is a massive mistake

What a silly quote "the board are interested in a mid table position or below.

Obviously they want what is best for Swindon, within the confines of being sustainable, i. e. reduce the wage bill from £4. 5M to £2. 5M.

We just need to be realistic. At the moment, staying up this season and reducing the wage bill in the priority.

The wages are almost there and we are showing signs that we may actually be better than I first thought.

Now stop the negativity and support the boys.

COYRs

I would accept it anyday

Not negativity just being realistic you have to get a good manager to get you in the final mix, and if those are our aims this season then why appoint cooper/cheap option it can't possibly work. we have signed some excellent players and with the addition of 2 good strikers we could even push for auto if we were to get someone like tisdale or pearce (certainly the play offs)

Have heard from Alan Knill that Torquay are signing Tom Lawrence from Manchester United on loan.
Then he said that he is looking for an experienced striker, who has a good goal to games record and he is willing to go up to 30/31 years of age. My money would be spent on Farid El Alagui from Brentford. In the games he has played, he has scored enough goals to impress. He is 27 years old and has a couple of years left in him and is 6ft 1in, which is good bearing in mind Alan Knill wanted the experienced striker to be a target man (tall but can also score a few. ) He is from France, where the country in which Alan Knill has already been scouting for players this pre-season (heard from him that they were Matthieu Manset and a non-striker (probably Damien Mozika he has been with at Bury and Scunthorpe) I would give Farid El Alagui a shot.

b11jpope

Farid was injured last season hence why he didn't play, he will be key in Brentford's push for promotion this season. He may have been born in France but his nationality is Moroccan. Also he is nothing like a target man, I'm guessing you haven't seen him play. Definitely a poacher.

If El Alagui remains at Brentford I hope he gets some games (with Grigg and Donaldson he is likely to be 3rd choice). In the games he did play for us he looked nifty - I think he has a lot to offer.

Rubbish, Farid spent all last season injured bar a few games in, played superb in the early start and will 100% be playing with BRENTFORD this year.

Alan knill will do a good job, but as soon as he as a chance he will leave you high and dry trust me.

mozika ok player if he stays that long

The only way he's found Mozika and Manset is by scouting England

Mozika is a mercenary, plain and simple chased the money at Scunny and left us high and dry after our promorion to league 1.

Knill will be using Torks as a stepping stone to try and land a Championship job. He's got a lot to prove to himself and his critics.

The Farid El Alagui info would be a marvelous addition to TQ1 and I'd like to think your right as its said on the Brentford rumours that he is willing to step down a division which affirms your thoughts

24 Jul 2013 20:32:20
Paul Benson is to join Torquay on a free transfer from Swindon in the next few days.

Whilst I think this would be a good move for both the player and clubs I don't think this is going to happen. Earns too much and commutes from his home in the London area, Torquay will probably be a bit too far (and he earns a s*** load)

Would be a fantastic signing, however can not see how we could afford his wages. Be a good player for anyone in league two.

Good, get rid of his massive wages.

24 Jul 2013 15:30:06
Torquay United are set to re sign their former centre back Mark Ellis for a fee thought to be £50,000. Ellis has sought a return to the South West for family reasons.

Torquay cannot afford to sign someone for 50,000

How about Billy Bodin for £70,000 last year?
The Ellis rumour is however very unlikely.

50000 of the Bodin fee was put up by a still anonymous female fan.

Ellis is happy in Crewe as I know him personally. His Mrs is from up there and they have just had a baby.

has poke left torquay united as he's been seen in Newport around the ground

He is injured and still first choice at Torquay

Nope. can't see this happening.

What a load of tosh, he is and still will be a torquay player this coming season.

23 Jul 2013 21:57:59
Can't comment on Poke but Newport's No. 1 Pidgely is out with a virus picked up whilst on holiday.

How did he get injured I also saw him around Newport ground the other day

I would not know what your goalkeeper looked like if he walked around Torquay. So how you could pick Poke out would be incredibly impressive! With him being injured, I doubt it.

He was walking round with a seagull onhis head

27 Jul 2013 18:03:58
Newport have signed James Bittner for a month, to cover the gk spot, so no need for Poke, whoever he is.

Danny Seabourne is set to sign a 2 year contract with Yeovil he played 90 minutes In the 2-0 defeat to Torquay on Tuesday night

Leaving Luton Town are Scott Rendell and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner. They've been on trial at Torquay and Burton Albion respectively and are expected to sign in the coming days. Also, Stuart Fleetwood is having a trial at Alfreton, although he's holding out for a love to a L2 side or a higher placed conference team

Rendells a great signing for Torquay and get him playing ball and you will have one hell of a striker there

Rendell I don't believe is good enough, Conference player. Rowe-Turner not being taken on by Burton.

Oh, and Fleetwood has signed a year's contract for Eastleigh!

Couldn't disagree any more with you over Rendell he has a decent record in front of goal when given a chance and we all saw what the lad did against Norwich. Showing that he can play at a higher level than conference. Although he's not the quickest of players his techincal ability is decent

16 Jul 2013 18:40:49
Ex Hereford and Reading striker M. Manset is set to join Torquay United along with ex Walsall player Richard Taundry.

16 Jul 2013 22:15:07
He's joining the mighty sky blues

Not likley, they can't sign anyone

Torquay United after Wolves Striker Jake Cassidy.
Although having to fight with AFC Wimbledon and Newly promoted Gillingham.

Bobthefielder

Another striker linked with gills? Rubbish. We have too many already and have let Deon Burton & Adam Birchall look elsewhere. Where people get their info from I've no idea.

Total rubbish wolves want to keep cassidy anyway.

Maybe a loan deal only

Gills have enough Strikers, if anything we will have to get rid of one.

Yes please cassidy best striker in league 1

09 Jul 2013 12:21:18
Torquay United next strengthening area is in attack with Paul Benson, John Akinde and Matt Manset top of Alan Knill's shopping list. Also Linked is Damien Mozika and Neal trotman.

John Akinde is on trial with Shrewsbury and is playing in today's friendly against TNS.

Add Ben Harding to that list.

05 Jul 2013 17:42:36
Torquay United are now after the signature of Jordan Chapell as one of the two new wingers they are looking to sign.
Sheffield United will allow him to leave on a free transfer provided a large sell-on clause is signed.
Chapell wishes to sign a permanent deal with Torquay United after a successful loan spell that saved Torquay from relegation.

Would be a cracking signing

Local paper says other winger to be Courtney Cameron.

Can see something going wrong with this! But would be a real coup for us at TUFC

Ex bury player damien mozika to sign for torquay.

Local paper confirms both have
now signed.

I am friends with Jordan Chappell he has signed for torquey

They've signed both

Exeter City are running the rule over Torquay's Martin Rice; and Plymouth forward Warren Feeney is looking to move up the A38 to St James Park

Exeter can't be running the rule over Torquay, Martin Rice has signed a new contract at end of last season and Is happy being our number two

04 Jul 2013 17:52:25
Couldn't imagine Warren Feeney in an Exeter shirt! He's a Fan favourite at Argyle!

Sorry what^ He is not an Argyle favourite at all, hard working but that's all he's got to his game, Exeter can have him.

Fan favourite? He never scores

Have to agree you can't doubt feeneys work rate and I like him because of that but he cannot score goals

I was gna say who think warren feeney is a fan favorit at argyle. I certainly dnt fair play and helping when we needed it and he was probaly the highest profile argyle brought in at the time but no where near good enough. can see him going to exeter as plymouth wil be looking to offload him and as exeter scrapped for cash the don't have much choice these days I think there going to be swapping places with us next season regarding whos going to be higher in the league. john sheridan certainly knows what he wants didn't see fletch bringing in these signings. brent hasn't really got a choice he has to spend money and he's showin a lot of ambition onward and upwards green army.

Never scores but he's a legend hard working and a gobby git on the field he get stuck in and picks up yellow cards for example last minutes of a game there goal keeper wasting time by not picking the ball up and waiting for feeny to go close well feeney just runs at them and kicks the ball and the player mainly the player and then calls the keeper a cocky person and on that odd time he does score he runs all game with a massive smile he's crap but a legend got to love the fella
