Calvin Zola signs with Aberdeen so he won't be going to carlisle but miller won't be going to Aberdeen either, looks likely he'll sign a new contract

samlwitter4

Looks like aberdeen has lost out there, miller is a better striker,

18 Jun 2013 15:13:57
calvin zola quoted as being interested in the thought of league 1 football with carlisle

He's gone to Aberdeen

Thats strange as he has signed for Aberdeen.

Get your facts right he has just signed for Aberdeen.

Any Carlisle United news?

Lee miller to Blackpool 2 year deal on July 1st!

He rejected the Blackpool offer and has said he wants to stay at Carlisle or go to a Scottish club

16 Jun 2013 19:52:27
Calvin Zola on his way to Carlisle United. ITK.

16 Jun 2013 09:37:11
Ian harte who has just been released by reading is going back to carlisle on a one year deal

Believe some championship clubs are
watching the situation. I think that this will be the level he plays at next year.

Unlikely but if true let's hope he bangs in another 18 goals in one season from centre back

Would be a useful signing - cover for Chantler at left back for the start of the season
, as well as at centre back. Oh and the goals too!

Chantlers injury will go in to next season so we do need a left back not sure if we'd get Harte though

Sheffield Wednesday are close to agreeing loan deals for Jamie Vardy from Leicester and Connor Wickham from Sunderland. This paves the way for Chris O'grady to sign permanently for Barnsley and Gary Madine to leave on a short term loan with a host of league 1 clubs interested including Swindon, Bradford, Tranmere, Rotherham and Carlisle.

If Carlisle are interested they are more likely to get him, just remove clauses in his transfer

There is no way he would be welcomed back at CUFC after the way he left and his off field behaviour.

I wouldn't want him back at Carlisle, bad role model, and comes across an arse

Of course we'd take madine back, despite his attitude, he's a class footballer for league one level and would be a better than good replacement for lee miller (if he goes). But doubt he'd come back even if we tried to sign him, even though I'm sure cufc aren't.

Great result if true. O'Grady one of the worst strikers ever seen and I saw Barry Conlon so that's saying something.

O'grady seemed to do fine at barnsley so don't know what the hell Wednesday were doing with him. Perhaps the long ball game they play doesn't suit him

Madine, back NO THANKS yob, RUNS LIKE A TURKEY and is a little thug

you know it makes sense

Ogrady worst striker you've ever seen didnt. he score 16 goals or something for Wednsdays and Barnsley combined last season?

rumours have linked Chesterfield with ex Owls and Blades midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern, released by Carlisle United, former Spireites loan striker Davide Somma, freed by Leeds United, and AFC Wimbledon's former Cardiff winger, Kevin Sainte-Luce.

Sainte-Luce just has to sign is contract, which Neal guaranteed he will do when Neal gets back from his holiday later this week! Not true

Hope it isn't true sainte Luce is a great talent

If Sainte-Luce fails to sign for Ardley, I really think he could be looking at a short lived career. I can see the financial attraction in signing for Chesterfield, but I think understandably he'd receive a lot less protection and support and Chesterfield wouldn't see the best of him either. Loyalty is respected and if he had an exceptional season I don't think anyone would begrudge him a move come end of next season, but for me, now is too soon for him.

We aren't offering big money at the spireites.

More money than what we can offer him, I don't want him if he's after the money, I want a player that cares and gives 100%

Correct. The new signings will all be on 3k or less

3k or less? What planet do you live on? If you think League Two players on average for an average team earn that much then you're deluded. Try £500-£2000 absolute maximum. Most are on around £1000.

Wimbledon can't offer more than 1. 5k/week to anyone, let alone a 20 year old.

Even £2000 is a bit much, I couldn't name one player that deserves to earn 2k, other than maybe maghoma at burton

Apart from Cfc players Richards is on the best part of 3k a week

If you get somma he will be a great signing if he stays fit, that lad could injure himself buttering toast

League 1 average wage is £1700 pw, so league 2 clubs won't pay any were near £2000 pw

KSL owes Neil Ardley big time for getting him back on track after his run in with the law. Needs to keep a low profile and let do his talking on the pitch. The 'real' Dons gave him that chance and he needs to repay the favour.

Josh Gillies to sign this week for Carlisle United

Hope you are right.

10 Jun 2013 09:21:42
Any carlisle news please ed?

09 Jun 2013 18:34:34
rene howe to Carlisle united, any truth behind this?

Rumour here is that he is to join Oxford United in next week or so? But likely players still busy looking at options. Most clubs have the players back for pre-season in next 2/3 weeks and i'd suggest most Managers would want players in situ before then. so next week or so could be interesting

He Is In Talks With Southend At The Moment, I Spoke To Him In The Club Car Park Yesterday (08/06/2013)

RM Shaks!

Yes that could come true as he bought a house in that area

09 Jun 2013 13:52:47
Carlisle United will be looking to to sign Ryan Noble and Josh Gillies in the next week!

Calvin Zola on way too. All signings will be made when Greg Abbott returns from holiday.

Two of them sound likely but calvin zola would be a good replacement for miller with a tiny bit more pace, to be honest takes nothing to out run miller

Gillies is true, Ryan Noble isn't. I I don't understand people's obsession with him, he's not as good as people seem to think.

All of them are likely to happen epecially with lee miller refusing a contract offer.

All these Ryan Noble experts. Have any of you seen him play? He maybe didn't do well at Hartlepool because they were probabily the worst team in league one last season.

Played for England at all levels up to under 19s so must have something.

More news about Liam noble of carlisle united! My uncle works at Bristol city ground staff heard his name mentioned through the week there! They are 100 percent looking for a cm and we could get him cheap of carlisle! Been looking at his stats and some clips of him looks a decent young player!

Any carlisle fans heard anything about him leaving?

He won't be cheap considering by the looks of it they are 3 clubs after him, even though he has 1 year left as he is under 23 so won't be free next season ether, expect £300 thousand for him,

500k at least

500k is over pricing, 300k is a push

Why would Bristol City get him cheaply.

sr

I assume they mean cheap by comparrison to buying from a higher division. I am sure the clubs will find a happy medium on price if there is a deal to be done.

Stephen McGinn set for talks with Bradford City after being released by Watford and is keen to move up north to be nearer Scotland. Carlisle United are also interested.

08 Jun 2013 15:05:14
He is off to Mk dons wants to stay down south!

Great young man with a superb attitude and willingness to learn.

08 Jun 2013 21:27:22
He will be signing for Shrewsbury, where him and his famliy are settled.

They have since invented the motor car, therefore you do not have to work where you live

09 Jun 2013 21:36:03
I heard Doncaster were looking at McGinn.

I get the feeling that somebody will know where he has bought a house.!

07 Jun 2013 07:31:40
Carlisle Midfielder Liam Noble is new Doncaster boss Paul Dickov's number one transfer target after impressing last season.

Seems a lot popping up about noble he did have a good last 10-15 games!

Dickov hates Noble after he claimed he elbowed an Oldham player in the face, video footage proved otherwise, noble also celebrated his 30 yard goal in front of him. His assistant manger broke tom tawio noise the season before and claimed that Carlisle players started the fight once again video footage shows his assistant started it.

Liam noble is inconstant, for first half of the season he struggled, but in the second half his spectacular passing at time, his long shots as Doncaster know quite well and his never stop attitude closing down all over the pitch, he was the best player for the last 15 games no doubt about it.

Do you mean inconsistent or incontinent?
I did hear that he is a good dribbler.

Doncaster fans he is the one who hit the goals against you for Carlisle at your ground, when Carlisle won 0:2 the second was quite a good goal,

06 Jun 2013 17:14:09
Carlisle united, Stevenage and AFC Wimbledon are all chasing defender John Johnson who is currently available on a free transfer after his release from Northampton.

Quality player

Ardley bringing in connolly-much needed finisher

07 Jun 2013 12:15:46
As in David Connolly? Hasn't he just signed for Portsmouth? Plus he's 35. I imagine Ardley will be looking to bring in a young pacy striker to play off the finisher we already have in Jack Midson (presuming he isn't going to Rotherham, Southend, Northampton or Real Madrid, as believed by some on this site).

Connolly who

Yep-David. He may be 35 but is a different type of player-can't always rely on Midson I guess. Big mate of Ardleys too. Mind you only going on the fact that he's been seen at training ground

Pretty sure Connolly has already signed for Portsmouth.

Already signed for Pompey so that rumour is dead.

06 Jun 2013 15:06:04
Looks like 1 noble in and 1 out of carlisle! With Ryan striker just been realised by Sunderland in and Liam on his way out with strong rumours he going!

This one keeps popping up but there is no indication on where he is going, or these strong rumours only appear to be on here

Would love to see us getting Noble and hope the other Noble stays!

I don't believe Noble will leave

06 Jun 2013 11:32:45
Any carlisle united news?

05 Jun 2013 13:14:18
The lad noble from carlisle getting a lot of mention! Rumours he be out of carlisle this summer to a champ r a top leauge 1 team!

Nothing in the news in star about this!
Local Cumbrian paper!

He'll stay at Carlisle for at least another season

05 Jun 2013 02:35:02
Carlisle United lining up 23 year old American international and Houston Dynamo striker Will Bruin to replace the outgoing Lee Miller.

04 Jun 2013 20:30:11
Lee Miller is close to signing for aberdeen on a 3 year deal as he is going to reject carlisle's 1 year contract offer.

Good riddance.

Yeah good riddance to a striker who scored 23 goals in 56 games. Some of our fans don't have a clue. best of luck to him if or when he moves on.

23 in 56 games is hardly clinical when about 10 of them were penalties

The club was tremendously loyal to him when he had his personal difficulties and injuries. He has not reciprocated and so I am happy to see him go.

Played half a season and still finished top scorer. don't blame him going to be honest grief he got was appaling towards the of the season.

He done his job and scored goals that ultimatley keeped us up.

Lets face it miller is s***

I'm happy if he goes can only really score penalties and tap ins

"I'm happy if he goes can only really score penalties and tap ins" is that not the point in a striker, and what about his first season he was third in the league assist table his goal creation/scoring was 3rd in the table.

He's lost the spring in his jump since his bad ankle injury. Hardly gets off the ground now, just tries to draw the foul and annoys the refs. Was doing more damage than good by the end of the season. Let him go, time for a change

04 Jun 2013 19:46:07
Carlisle's out-of-contract striker Lee Miller is set to sign for League One rivals Preston North End when he returns from holiday.

We are signing a st from the prem

Ha ha at this rate Bury will be in financial debt again with all the players they are signing and long deals.

LESSONS NOT LEARNT I SEE

He wants to move to a Scottish club, to be closer to family

I hope not. He's terrible.

He's not going to Preston but he will leave

This might not be a bad deal for North End, he fits the requirement being a 6ft 2inch centre forward, he has good experience and he is familiar with Garner. He is available on a bosman free and might well be looking for a fresh start having experienced personal tragedy whilst at Carlisle. I didn't think he was that bad, I know North End have looked at him before.

Lee miller terrible, uve got to be joking, he is the best centre forward cufc have had for years, hope to god he doesn't sign for preston, there awful to watch

I didn't think Carlisle had had a decent centre forward since Hughie McIlmoyle

North end awful to watch under grayson no under westley yes, how can a carlisle fan say that carlisle hardly barcelona

Awful player. You'd be lucky if he ran 100m during a game.

It doesn't say much about Carlisle if he's the best centre forward they've had!

Seem to remember Preston playin more football than Carlisle at Brunton Pk in april.

What about danny graham, matt jansen, david reeves, preston were awful in april, we weren't much better but at least try and play football

Lee miller is a good player, to good for league 1, not just in the air but on the ground aswell, yes I am a carlisle fan and would be gutted if he doesn't sign on, just hope he doesn't sign for pne because there no better than us

"It doesn't say much about Carlisle if he's the best centre forward they've had!" nope in the way of strikers we have had ivor brodis, peter Beardsley, Hughie McIlmoyle, danny graham.

He didn't say he was the best ever. He said best we had for a few years! Which he probabily is since Danny Graham left. Who coincidently the fans also turned on once he was running down his contract.

Cheers someone who talks sense, we will miss him because he is one of the best in the league, whoever signs him will get a good striker especially for league 1

04 Jun 2013 14:38:41
scott arfield is close to completeing a move to carlisle united and will finalise the deal when greg abbott comes back from his holiday.

So he said we are signing and right winger and a striker next week, and weird how the right winger was not arfield. He was talking in is interview about josh gillies

If you read the interview he did say he wanted a midfielder who can link up with the forwards. So he could be on about Arfield who is a good player at our level. i'd certainly have him if we sign him.

04 Jun 2013 08:35:31
Young goal scoring midfielder Liam noble from carlisle united getting looked at by the boro! Also donny and a few others any forts?

Fort William? Will that do?

Massive carlisle fan would be a huge miss! Great player any1 heard anything about this 1?

Has turned the corner and is a good fit for Carlisle.

03 Jun 2013 21:49:42
Torquay's Rene Howe in talks with Carlisle.

That would make sense as he just bought a house in carlisle

Oxford United

Howe signed a two-year contract with Oxford United on 3 June 2013, after manager Chris Wilder had been scouting him for months.

Don't know much about him, any good?

How do you know he bought a house in carlisle?

Wiki can not be used as evidence, can be edited by anybody, and his page now reads that he has signed for Carlisle. Great player for Torquay over last two years, with some awful service. Sometimes attitude can be a problem, is easily wound up and was booked more than any other FL player last season.

Booked, but not sent off. Looks a good bet.

03 Jun 2013 15:11:10
josh gillies has turned down Cheltenham, to sign for Carlisle, he choice them as they play in a higher league and he can continue living in Newcastle.

Yes, please.

03 Jun 2013 12:34:28
Carlisle utd are to sign free agent and former Huddersfield Town and Rep of Ireland striking favourite Alan Lee on 1 yr deal. He will provide cover for the forwards and as an impact substitute. Also beleived that Scott Arfield who was also released by Huddersfield at the end of the last season may be making his way to the cumbrian club.

Thats all Alan Lee should be used for, an impact sub in league 1. He's half dencent in L1, good with his head

CUFC definitely DO have a sell on for Paddy Madden - it was the only thing we did right!

03 Jun 2013 09:48:08
derby county have put a bid of 1.2 million for yeovil striker paddy madden which might temp yeovil to sell. if yeovil sell carlisle will be intitled to 50% of the deal.

"Temp Yeovil to sell. " You must be kidding! Now we're in the Championship Madden automatically becomes worth around £2. 5M. A good season for Madden would see him valued at around £5M. Madden's under contract and we're under no pressure to sell.

No way. If yeovil keep him and he proves himself in the championship then prem will come sniffing next summer.

As a Carlisle fan he is worth more than £1.2 million we sold joe garner with a broken leg for that, he is worth £2 million is yeovil sell any cheaper we will be pi**ed.

Derby fan here. Sorry we don't want him.

There a lot of strikers in the championship who have played well in league one but done naff all in the championship and that doesn't mean there worth 2.5m so don't start thinkin because you are in the championship you players are worth double 2.5m is a stupid price for an 'okay' league one striker, rhodes is a quality player worth 5m madden isn't as good as him

Lol, why has his value jumped up just for being in the Championship? He's not had a game yet! He might be terrible at this level.

Either way, I'd rather have Russell any day of the week.

Carlisle do not have a sell on for Paddy Madden fact

An 'okay' league one striker hah! what do you call a 'good' striker then? top scorer in the league in half a season and you class him as 'okay'?

04 Jun 2013 16:15:41
his value hasn't really jumped up but being in the championship means it would take a higher bid for Yeovil to consider selling

Carlisle rarely sell players without sell on so Paddy Madden having scored so may on loan then shipped out at xmas, he will have a sell on and everyone round carlisle reckon it is 40-50%

01 Jun 2013 13:28:33
The reason Iain Vigurs has rejected Oldham is that they wanted to give him a two year deal, and he did not want to sign for that long at Oldham, although he is willing to sign a two year contract at Carlisle as it is closer to Scotland and he feels relegation is less likely there, he will complete the deal in 10 days time when Abbott returns from holiday

01 Jun 2013 15:46:26
More likely, he's on Rangers radar.
Carlisle over oldhamnot a chance

The deal was agreed at oldham. He changed his mind however as lee Johnson was on holiday and vigurs suddenly decided he wanted a 1 year contract. Wouldn't trust his verbal agreements until he's put pen to paper.

Feels relegation is less likely at us? Lol

Wishful thinking. He has had a good year in the SPL and is not about to swap it for the First Division.

Considering Carlisle is closer to Scotland in a better finical position is a safer place to live, I think he would pick Carlisle over Oldham.

The standard of the SPL football (Apart from Celtic) is League 2 and League 1 pays MORE

Carlisle pay more than SPL. HA HA!

Iain vigurs is a left winger greg is after a right sided midfielder.

Carlisle are better off financially then oldham?haha yeah ok, what ever you say

Sure Oldham have over a million more reasons than Carlisle have after our cup run last season.

Thing is we won;t waste it either on players who can;t commit, SPL is a poor league 2

If I had a mate who was a footballer, and he signed for Carlise over Oldham, I'd slap him until my hand fell off

Carlisle over Oldham any day better club by far

Iain Vigurs has joined Motherwell on a 3 year contract

31 May 2013 17:00:23
Kilmarnock talk to Peter Murphy (Carlisle Utd), Leon McSweeney (Leyton Orient), Nathan Tyson (Derby County) and Martin Paterson (Burnley) for summer July

Tyson is reported to be on a fair whack at Derby. Not saying Derby pay massive wages, but it would be a risk with his injury record.

However he comes across as a really decent bloke, so if true I would wise him well.

Tyson is on between 8-10k, he struggles to put a run of games together, more of an impact player off the bench now. Decent bloke off the pitch tho, he's been good with helping the Derby youngsters.

Not a chance Paterson will go there.

Burnley are going to get celtics ben forster

Haha his names fraser forster

Ben Forster of Celtic? Who? Do you mean Fraser Forster? I doubt we were ever an option he would have considered and now that we've got Tom Heaton - we're not going to have 2 keepers of that level.
