Rooney scored his 29th and 30th goals of the season with a brace in United's 4-0 Champions League demolition of AC Milan on Wednesday, which underlined his credentials as one of Europe's top strikers. The England striker has notched 15 goals in his last 12 games and believes his work ethic on the training ground has inspired his recent fun of form. "I think I have been in the box a lot more and working on my timing and finishing," he said on Sky Sports News. "I have played up front in every game I have played this season and that has helped me score a lot of goals. When you are the lone striker you have to play up the pitch because you are the focal point of your team."

Reports emanating from Serie A have suggested Roma are readying an offer to lure Gallas, 32, to the Italian capital. Wenger, though, is confident Gallas will extend his stay at Emirates Stadium. "I am not concerned. He is under contract until the 30th of June. We have not found an agreement yet. I meet his agents again next Thursday and we will try to find a solution," said the Arsenal manager. "I would like to keep all that secret. I feel I have to respect both parties and not to come out about the details of negotiations." Wenger added on Roma's interest: "I do not know if he has spoken to Roma, but he is out of contract and can talk to whom he wants. William is speaking to us and our desire is to keep him here. I think he wants to stay here."

Emmanuel Eboue's agent has dismissed reports linking the Arsenal man with a move to Roma. Eboue endured a difficult season last term, but he has played his way back into favour this campaign with a number of impressive performances. The Ivory Coast international's agent, Franjo Vranjkovic, insists Eboue is happy at Arsenal and that he has had no contact with Roma. "It isn't true that Emmanuel is close to Roma," Vranjkovic told romagiallorossa.com. "He is happy in England, he has a nice role. I don't understand why this news has spread in Italy. Roma has had no contact with me or with our staff. I can say with confidence that the player is very happy in England and it is unlikely he will move."
