Southampton set to surprise everyone by not only announcing Forren tomorrow but also Gary Hooper
No we are not, its just Forren.
No just Forren for now. I think Hooper transfer died a death long ago and we just couldn't justify shelling out so much on him when we have Lambert free scoring and a fair few back up's. I do think Astori may come off still late in the window. As others have mentioned, it may have gone quiet for now but it does remind me of the Ramirez deal a fair bit!
Hooper is a good striker but so are a lot of other players Hooper is like a more switched on Sharpe
Suprise is not the word - brought in a failed Argy manager
When really this post should have read....Southampton are to surprise everyone by sacking NA. **** knows what goes through NC's head but we all said the same thing when Pardew went.
Suprise everyone and sack adkins..................... disgusting

Will the saints players play for the new manager, can he speak English as people have been saying cortese must have been demanding boruk to play in goal.

As a saints season ticket holder I am disgusted with the sacking of Nigel Adkins. Just hope he gets a decent job. Could be the championship for saints next year. Get rid of cortese wait till Monday night

Saints a dead certain for relegation, what a stupid time to sack a manager. Cortese wil learn the hard way. The new manager will be up against it from the word go, makes us wonder why Paulo gazzaniga has been playing in goal . They won't be getting my money any more. Good luck to Nigel Adkins you did your best mate.

New manager in Jan.saints will get stuffed in the next few games is cortese going to get some stick wrong timing.

Book 2 seats on easier to Spain for pochettino and Benitez and a boat trip to italy for cortese to give him time to think about the mistake he's made.
This is no way to go about it. You are all being totally pathetic. Nigel Adkins did a great job and yes I am sad to see him go. But we need to get behind the new manager and the players. The last thing we need is to get on a chelsea loosing streak like when Di matter got sacked. Come on you reds!
Agreed. Very sad to see Nigel Adkins go, saints legend forever. Terrible timing and shoddy treatment of a really decent guy. BUT. Give Pochetinno a chance. None of this is his or the players doing! Get behind him and the team. COYS!
Feel so sorry for Adkins but I actually feel sorry for MP too! Fans are on his back before he starts, massive boots to fill, joining at a very difficult time half way through the season! I think he may be really good if given a proper chance.

What a fool pochettino is to take the saints job he seems a good guy but is going to be given hell if things go wrong. The only thing you could say is cortese did give adkins the chance it's not rocket science to realize there is more chance now of saints being relegated .
20 Jan 2013 13:07:15
Considering Adkins was having to play players not always of his choice he did well, it seemed crazy to me that the manager should not be able to name his transfer target. A rumor was going round there was conflict over cortese doing transfer dealings without consulting Adkins .

Hooper will never come to saints, he player under Adkins at Scunthorpe and he can't speak spanish
20 Jan 2013 20:44:00
It's rumored that saints goalkeeper gazzaniga. Was born in the same town as the new manager. Wouldn't mind betting there is a family link.hope it doesn't end up like when Portsmouth sign Freddie cox from bounmouth and he brought his family to the club and started the clubs ruin.

The big question is what will happen if results start going. Will cortese have to eat humble pie, he looks to have made a foolish gamble, if the change was pre season it may have worked. Hope we don't start playing with one forward at home games.
