The American businessmen who own Liverpool Football Club have hired heavyweight City advisers to oversee an auction of part or all of the Premiership outfit, I have learned.

Tom Hicks and George Gillett are on the verge of appointing Barclays Capital, the investment bank, to handle a sale process that will begin shortly by inviting new offers for the club.

It's the latest chapter of an ownership saga that has angered Liverpool fans in recent months as they've seen their team knocked out of the Champions' League and fall away surprisingly early in the Premiership title race.

The owners hope that recruiting Barclays will inject fresh impetus into their quest for new investment, although their preference is now for an outright sale rather than to find an investor prepared to buy a minority stake.

To provide reassurance for potential buyers that the auction is a genuine attempt to sell the club, Martin Broughton, the chairman of British Airways, will be confirmed as Liverpool's chairman in the early part of next week. His appointment, which is not quite certain yet but which is overwhelmingly likely, will mean Hicks and Gillett stepping down as co–chairmen.

Broughton's role at Liverpool will effectively be that of an interim chairman given that I understand he will play a key role in overseeing the sale of the club.

There's certainly other interest out there too, including from Middle Eastern and Indian investors, although there are no further firm proposals on the table yet. However, the prospect of full ownership is likely to whet the appetite of many buyers given the possibility of a move to a new stadium and the latent commercial potential of the club. regards neil

Arsene Wenger will NOT go for any of the following players:
Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain, Hugo Lloris, Neven Subotic, Felipe Melo, David Silva, Mamadou Sakho, Brede Hangeland.
Sakho is not needed as we have Vermaelen, then Silva, Bemzema, Higuain and Subotic will be too expensive. Lloris would be great, but the hype around him and Lyon's success will make him too expensive. Hangeland is too old to pay so much for. Instead targets on Wenger's shortlist are:
GK: Akinfeev, Neuer,
CB: Boateng, vdWiel, Taci, Richards.
RB: vdWiel, Azpilicueta, Richards
LB: nobody
DCM: Senna, Inler, Moussa Sissoko
AM: vdVaart, Gourcuff(only considered if Fab left, which won't happen)
RW: nobody
LW: Hazard
CF: Chamakh(done), Remy
youngsters: Juste Abou, Zavon Hines.
my tip:
Neuer(12), Boateng(10), Richards(8), Senna(5), Chamakh(free), Hazard(12) in.
Fabianski(3), Traore(4), Simpson(3), Eduardo(7), Silvestre, Senderos, Merida (free) out.

MAN UTD NEWS:
INS:
GK– a new keeper will be arriving in january, most likely Akinfeev on a free or if that deal falls through then one of Neuer or Lloris.

DF– Chris Smalling is the only definate, no one else will be sought unless Vidic decides to leave which looks increasingly less likely but if he does then Mexes of Roma is first choice to replace him he's been scouted by united since he was 17 and has recently fallen out with the managment at Roma.

MF– this is where the most work will be made Roberto Firminio is nearly a done deal, then there is alot of players being scouted but no final decision has been made on who or for how much yet so i'll just give you the list of possiblitys, James Milner, Gojko Kacar, Jack Rodwell, Steven Defour, Yohann Gourcuff, Luka Modric, Joe Cole, Andres Guardado and Nicolas Lodeiro. one or more of these players will be coming in.

ST– Javier Hernandez is a done deal providing he gets a work permit, then one of either Luis Suarez or Mirko Vucinic will be signed.

OUTS:
Ben Foster, Nemanja Vidic(possibly but unlikely), Micheal Carrick, Anderson(in january when hes recovered from injury), Micheal Owen and Dimitar Berbatov(possibly)

Rumour has it that liverpool are after benzema and not higuin. Can anyone shed some light on the subject.

I have heard this a lot as well. Liverpool will sign one of real's two young star strikers. Of the two, it would be more likely for real to sell benzema considering higuan is there top scorer this campaign and has been there longer. Benzema has still not settled in Madrid. His price would also be lower than anything we would pay for higuan. He has been linked with Manu all year as he was last year but saf has recently said Manu will not be making any big signings. Whichever one we get, a attacking combination of torres and benzema/higuan would be scary for opposing defences.

As an Everton fan it makes me laugh/cringe to support a club in the same city as these pathetic kopite idiots (well I say kopites, 90% of them wouldn't know where ANALFIELD was if it was right in front of them.) Desperate for a takeover from this and that, your a sinking ship with 2 prize assets that WILL be sold to sort your horrendous debt out :D

Anyway lets get down to business – Rodwell, Piennar, Arteta & Fellaini will all be tempted away from Goodison park and rightfully so as they are top quality players. IF this happens expect Moyes to follow as they are his crown jewels and he simpily will not have his hard work shot down in flames.

EFC the best pouund for pound team in the premier division WOULD of walked 4th maybe even 3rd this season if it wasnt for our injuries, next season we WILL be a force, and continue to be the blueprint for other clubs (Not money men with Arab/oil money, that's not football IMHO).

Expect enquires/bids for the following:

Darren Bent
Cardozo (Benfica)
N'Zogbia

Outs

Yobo
Vaughan
Possibly Yak

To Everyone on here who is a Liverpool Fan

Who and if a new manager will be at Liverpool in the summer is only known to a select number of people. Mourinho as you know is holding out for Manchester United so I do not expect it to be him.

As for the bringing of players, there is only a set budget available, so even with some sales, there will be no really big names being added to the squad.

There are three investment companies in the frame at the moment and an announcement may be made soon. DIC is not amongst them – they have their own financial problems. The club is in the process of appointing a new acting Chairman on the advice I believe of RBS who are in the process of preparing to take control of the club if Tom Hicks and George Gillett can not agree to sign on the dotted line.

After Celtic's poor showing today Celtic board are to cash in on a few players

McGeady 11m Birminghan.
Boruc 4m Leverkuesen
McManus £2m Middlesborugh
Hinkel £3m Colgne
Fortune £3m WestBrom
McGinn £1.5m Wolves

total £24.5

new manager to come in and buy 10 players at no more than £2m each. Many managers to turn down the celtic job with only lower leage managers to choose from.

Toon to sign koumas but we don't need him!

Wesley sneijder has said that he fancies a move to the prem.
Manu and city are interessted in a deal wrth 10 mill

Blackburn to sign dindane, and to sell pederson to Greece.
Ambrose, jenas and bramble (if Wigan are relegated) want to return to Newcastle. We also need a good striker. Hopefully robbie keane, lavezzi, Steven fletcher( if burnley go down) or john utaka

Onto transfer rumours for the greatest team in the premeirship, MAN UTD (when we lost to everton it was just a slight hiccup obviously)

JOE COLE– He obviously won't go everton or anywhere else because evertons rubbish

BENZEMA– He also realised that man utd dominate everything.

RODWELL– what can i say. Although he loves everton and moyes (thanks for all kind and helpful comments about my older posts), he may come to united if we offer berbatov and carrick

OWEN AND ANDERSON &(berbatov and carrick) WILL LEAVE, due to being not good enough for man utd (rubbish teams will take them in)

The truth by

Martin Caceres has emerged as a possible transfer target for Arsenal, according to reports in Spain. The 22–year–old is currently on loan at Juventus from Barcelona until the end of the season.

The Uruguayan international is reportedly hoping the Bianconeri will pay €11 million to make the move permanent this summer, but Cadena Ser report that Arsene Wenger has added the defender to his wish list for next season.

Reports claim the Old Lady have been trying to negotiate a smaller fee for the defender, who arrived at Camp Nou from Villarreal for around €16.5 million in 2009 but failed to make the grade at Barca, with coach Pep Guardiola deeming him surplus to requirements.

While Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen has been a revelation at the Emirates this season, Wenger is thought to be unhappy with the options available to partner the former Ajax man, with William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikael Silvestre all on the wrong side of 30.

I totally made this up reports in |Spain and Italy copied it from this site and Yesturday goal.com ran a story on it.My experement proves do not believe everything you read.Plus I would like to say well done to the admins of this site your being copied by the other rumour and press sites .Copying is the greatest form of flatery.

Well done from johnny arsenal

10 Apr 2010 14:24:07
Everytime i go to liverpool i stay in a hotel in the city there is a man who works there who i know very well.Back in january he informed me he was having a meal with 2 lfc legends (not naming names) for the opening of the new tour and they informed him there was three parties that liverpool were talking to about takeovers 1– an american crowd looking for a stake of the shares (3 yanks NIGHTMARE) 2– two middle east groups ( DIC been one) also that are new director Mr C purslow wanted the noting to do with any yanks and was pushing for a full 100% takeover.
so as we all have seen in the Rohne group was the yanks and that they are now out of the picture.

So make what yous want of that.

Man United 100% official summer transfer rumours:
In's:
– Roberto Firminio – Figueirense
– David De Gea – Athletico Madrid
– Manuel Neuer – Schalke
– Frank Ribery – Bayern Munich
– Joe Cole – Chelsea
– Ramon Azeez – Future Pro Academy (Nigeria)
– Marnick Vermijl – Standard Liege
– Jack Rodwell – Everton
– Miguel Veloso – Sporting Lisbon
– Angel Di Maria – Benfica

Not everyone will be arriving. There's 2 goalies in that list but only 1 will be signed.

Rumour suggests that United have a £10m bid lined up for Neuer as he claimed he wants to be winning trophies and SAF rates him well to succeed EVDS.

Joe Cole will be available on a free as his contract runs out in the summer. Ancelotti believes he can make Joe Cole sign a new deal at Chelsea but if Cole doesn't sign then expect SAF to chase his signature.

Vermijl will only be approached if Vidic changes his mind again and wants to leave.

Rodwell is an interesting one. SAF has been quoted as saying that he rates him very similar to Rooney when he signed him. Price tag on Rodwell I believe is around £20m but SAF reckons a £18m bid will do enough to bring him to OT.

Veloso rumours have been flying around for years now, he's a decent player but I don't think there is any truth in this rumour.

Ribery & Di Maria both have ridiculous price tags on them (you can blame Real Madrid/Man City for that). United won't be spending big on these 2 players.

Real Madrid C.F

Definitely going to be a managerial change this year. Their main choice is Jose Mourinho and "The special one" could be tempted, but as everyone knows his heart is set on a return to England.
Another name being thrown around is Rafa Benitez. This is a more likely target as Liverpool would LOVE for him to leave on his own accord.
If Rafa does go to Madrid then he will be given the freedom of spending in his first year and will look to make the following transfers:

Ins:
David Villa OR Fernando Torres
Danielle De Rossi OR Essien
Ashley Cole
Steven Gerrard (very unlikely he would leave though)

Outs:
Benezma
Marcelo
M.Diarra
and a couple of others

LOL, some classics today, quite where debt riddled Man Utd are going to get £70 Million from to buy three players from? Thats a good one!

Another muppet proclaiming them signing Smalling from Fulham is a "done deal"–really? The "done deal" that was in all the newspapers and media outlets several weeks ago? What next Nostradamus, are they going to sign Rooney from Everton, you reckon that might happen as well?

The harsh fact is that none of the "big three" (no longer a "big four" as Liverpool have resigned their membership and are now part of the "middling ten or so") will be spending big this Summer, and are more likely to be selling. Man Utd will offload several fringe players, including Welbeck and Anderson; Chelsea will retain Joe Cole providing he is sensible about his new deal, and, either Ballack or Essien will leave. Obi Mikel another likely departure. Arsenal? Obvious really, Sol Campbell, Silvestre and Vela all on their way; Merida, of course, is already signed and sealed for a return to Spain.

Man City will huff, puff, anhd bluster about making some sensational signings, Gerrard will be this Summer's John Terry for them, but he is living in a comfort zone at Anfield and, frankly, unlikely to relish leaving that, same applies to Carragher, and so on–why do you think Reina has just signed a SIX YEAR (madness with their debts) deal! Anyway–as and when Obi Mikel leaves Chelsea, Man City will make noises about signing him, but he'll go off to Spain, Valencia the one to watch there.

Further down the leagues, expect Dennis Wise to be involved at Leeds United again before the Summer draws to a close. Same division and two better teams; if Norwich go up, they will attempt to sign the unsettled Ched Evans from Sheff United; similarly, if Watford go down, expect the Canaries to move for ex–loanee defender Martin Taylor. Millwall, meanwhile, fear losing manager Kenny Jackett to Burnley.

Finally, Robbie Keane set to be offered a deal by Aston Villa (but that one has been doing the rounds); however, his first club, Wolves, are also interested, and may make TOttenham an offer as and when their Premiership status is assured. One club doomed to exit the Prem, Portsmouth, will appoint Alan Curbishley as their new Manager; Avram Grant has been sounded out in several countries for a club post, including in Germany and Greece.

I have heard Manure are going to get David Villa & David Silva for a measly 40m plus possible add ons of just 15m, if this happens Nando will be furious and i would not blame him if he left. Im sure the yanks could find 40m from somewhere? with Silva replacing Riera and Villa upfront with Torres we would not need to buy anyone else for a few seasons. Its scandalous.

Heard from a source that Liverpool are in talks with 4 potential investors. Dont know who, but all i know is that any successful bidders will HAVE to have plans/money for a new ground as this is a strict condition of sale! Also, a ground share will NOT happen with Everton and this is due to the fact they would not fill a 60/70000 seater stadium each week. I know that will wind the blue noses up but that's not my intention, just the words of my contact.

Manchester united rumours

chris smalling – done deal
javier hernandez – done deal

now in regards to big moves, big names, man utd will not move for benzema.

valencia have agreed a deal with manchester united to sell david villa and david silva in the summer this was agreed back in december. this will happen look how quiet the hernandez deal was, man utd advisors working very hard behind the scenes. also may be a deal for luis suarez, igor akinfeev will be the next goal keeper signed to take over van der saar.

10 Apr 2010 07:52:03
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will join barcelona for £40mill in the summer if Arsenal fail to win the Premier league this season. Arsenal will step up the bid to sign Felipe Melo and Chamak is a done deal.

It's a done deal. Even though it's unofficial. Rafael van der Vaart is moving to Old Trafford this summer. The deal is said to be worth around 10m.
––––Vanessa50

Sorry Vanessa you obviously know very little about the Fabregas situation. People need to stop quoting ridiculously low values for him. Fabregas is 22 at the moment. Kaka cost roughly £68m at the age of 26. Wenger has made it clear that if a team want to buy him he wants a similar figure. If Fabregas does get sold, of which there is only a 10% chance, then it will be for £60m+. Melo also will NOT be the player to replace him. If Fabregas is sold Gourcuff (who has named Arsenal as his favourite club and Nasri and Diaby as two of his closest friends) or Hamsik will be targeted as like for like replacements. If these bids fail Nasri will be moved permanently into the central Fabregas role and the big name signing of Daniele De Rossi will be made for £32m to placate Arsenal fans and form a midfield of – Song, De Rossi, Nasri or De Rossi, Diaby, Nasri.

10 Apr 2010 08:14:28
Billy Davies has prepared a 'pre–list' for Forest's notorious Acclimatisation Panel. The list has 18 players, all top quality with some very hot prospects. I have been privvy to the list and nearly wet my self at the prospect. The plan is to get a 'shortlist' together for Charmain Dogty to sanction the valuations and give the club a head start now that we've got the lottery of the play–offs to cope with. Reds are going up.

EVERYONE seems to be talking about the buy–out of Liverpool by D.I.C – This seems to be gathering alot of pace now with many people confirming they have heard the same news..

I gues my question is.. is this really for real? Nobody could want it to be more true than myself, being a reds fan all my life!

Could anyone shed some more light on the matter?

Leicester will be signing Peterborough midfielder Exodus Geoghan in the summer, for a fee of £200,000.

They will also add Delroy Facey to their ranks, with the forward signing a 300,000 pound deal.
His best friend Spencer Weir–Daley will also be joining on a free transfer.

And the best footballer in the world, Jermaine Johnson, from Derby will sign for the Foxes for 5 million pounds.

Liverpool transfer rumours:
Nando asked for four big signings so here they are. The problematic positions in this years squad would be solved with these signings.
Lb–insua is promising but not good enough to be in the eleven. Kolarov will be brought in from lazio. He is world class.

lw–It is possible that all of the players who have been deployed on the left side of midfield will not be returning for next year with riera, babel, and benayoun all potentially on the way out.
turan from gala will be at anfield next year. Proven quality and still very young.James milner will also move to the merseyside and he can operate on the left as well as the right. Great young player, heir apparent to Stevie.

Striker– ngog is good and progressing but does not provide cutting edge when el niño is out. Hopefully a deal can be made for higuan with real. If not and west ham get relegated, look for Carlton Cole to be wearing red next year.

Cm– again milner will be signed. Also if the price is right we will pick up out of favour Ireland from city. If this happens then we will sell aqua back to Italy.

To the Ipswich Fan posting for rumours there are not alot about at the mo, You get the odd person on here going on about Marcus Evens leaving and how keane will do another walking act but to tell you the truth buddy i go to alot of games and don't get that feeling at all, Marcus Evens doesn't show his face much but is a through and through Ipswich Fan so why would after three years and alot of money he walk away?? And i think Keano will stay and prove his doughters wrong!! We have a strong team on paper its just getting the boys to do it all the time on the pitch when we are on top form theres not to many teams in that league will touch us! But that's just my views.

So to the little bit of rumours i have heard over the last few weeks.

Ins:–

Dos Santos – Spurs (season loan)
Murphy – Sunderland (make deal permanent)
McManus – Celtic (1.5 million)
Rosenior – Reading (On a Free)
Colback – Sunderland (season long with view to permanent deal)
Welbeck – United (season loan) I dought it!!!

Out:–

Priskin – QPR (800k)
Stead – Coventry (700k)
Balkestein – Brentford (275K)
Trotter – Millwall (300k)
Lisbie – Colchester (450k)
Martin – who ever wants him (we pay them)

Thats wot ive heard but if i believe it all is another matter!!

If anyone has any new Ipswich rumours please tell.

Burnley FC to see MAJOR changes to the playing staff in the summer if Brian Laws remains (and this is a major 'if'!).

Never mind there being 12 players out of contract this summer it is unlikely that many of the players still under contract will stay either as the dressing room does not support Laws.

The transition from Coyle's man managment style to Laws' has not been an easy one and the players have no respect for the new man and his team.

If Laws is to stay then he need to completely reshape the WHOLE playing squad; likely only 5 or 6 first team squad players will remain– the rest will go.

Arsenal scouts have been busy. They have been watching David Silva Manuel Neuer Brede Hangeland.Chamakh is going there. Surprise could be that Arshavin could be leaving.Scott Parker could be a surprise buy as he will cover for Song but not expect to play every week.Savic is going on a trial and Roma have offered Arsenal first option on Mexes as he has fell out with Ranieri.

Spurs won't sell Bale Crouch Pavlechenko. They all have been outstanding recently to be fair to them but Robbie Keane could be on his way for the right price. I know Newcastle have equired about him.A deal could be struck as spurs are after Steven Taylor. David Luiz is being touted to join them but them rumours could be just because he was playing against an english team. If West Ham go down Spurs will lead the bids for Upson.

Im a Sports Agent in North London that's how I know these rumours. The company I work for were responsible for bringing Bergkamp Ginola and Klinsmann(the 2nd time) to these teams to name just a few.

Can i just say people who tHink Everton players will leave them on the cheap. Dont be stupid they are the smartest club when it comes to transfer dealings. Rodwell won't leave for less than 18 million after add ons and Fellaini will b over 20. Thats IF they go i don't no nothing about that club.
