Portsmouth have been given extra time by the courts, and will have a 'permanent' owner in place by Monday evening.

The investor has agreed to sit down with creditors during the close season and pay ALL debts IN FULL, as well as meet HMRC demands by 17th February.

Things starting to look up for Pompey?

Prospective Arsenal signings:
GK – one of the following will arrive
Lloris: firmly established as France's No. 1, young and French, bags of potential, already got a cool head on him.
Neuer: Probably the favourite to be signed, however Man Utd and AC Milan are also after him.
Green: May well be signed if West Ham go down.
Hart: A long England career ahead of him, young and hungry, but may prefer to sign permanently for B'ham
Verdict: Neuer to be signed, Lloris first alternative, Almunia out.
DEFENCE: Silvestre and Senderos to leave on free transfers, Gallas likely to sign a new deal, Campbell will be retained. Traore may leave if he is told he is 3rd choice left back. Targets:
Savic: will be signed for £2–3m, he is young montenegren player of the year, so bags of potential, good height and power.
Sakho: a deal has been in the pipeline for a long time, would cost about £9–11m. strong and powerful, a goalscorer too. only issue is he's left footed, we need a partner for Vermaelen for when gallas goes, so 3 left footers in a back four would create imbalance.
Subotic: first alternative to Sakho. very tall, very powerful, great in the air. has improved since last year for Dortmund. right footer, may be more expensive than Sakho though.
Matthews: Young talent, would cost about £4m, may compensate for missing out on Smalling, though if we sign Savic we won't really need him.
Verdict: with Silvestre, Senderos and maybe Campbell going, Savic will be signed for sure, with one of Subotic or Sakho. If Gallas leaves too, both Sakho and Subotic may be signed.
DEFENSIVE CENTRAL MIDFIELD:
Denilson has proved he is crap in that position. Eastmond has shown he has potential but needs a couple of seasons before he is ready. Diaby is too offensive as a player, leaving Song as the only competent DCM. Targets:
Yaya Toure: We've been through the whole saga before, but its debatable that Yaya best fits the bill for this position. tall, powerful, good positional sense, good tackler, ball player, etc. but would cost £15m which is a drawback. Also, he would kill off Song's progress.
Witsel: Many of Europe's top clubs have a keen eye on this one. vicious in the tackle, great break–up of attacks, etc, would cost about £8m.
Moussa Sissoko: into the French squad, fits the bill, would be cheaper than Toure.
Blaise Matuidi: we've been after him before, but i doubt we'll actually land him.
VERDICT: my money is on Sissoko, with Yaya an outside chance.
MIDFIELD: Merida on his way out. True Arsenal fans do not doubt that Fabregas will still be here next season so i don't want to entertain the thought any further. plenty of talent with Diaby, Ramsey, Rosicky, Wilshere, Nasri, so unlikely to be much change there. we have targeted Eden Hazard, but he is happy at Lille and has signed a new contract so we might as well accept other clubs will pay big money for him and so we should forget him altogether.
VERDICT: Merida out, nobody in.
FORWARDS: Eduardo may be allowed to leave on loan to rediscover his true potential. Jay simpson may leave. nobody else. Targets:
Chamakh: pre–contract set to be concluded soon, he'll arrive for free, a good bit of business.
Dzeko: the ideal striker for us, but if a bidding war ensues we will be priced out of signing him. would cost more than £10m, closer to £15m.
Remy: would cost £10m, i don't rate him much myself in comparison with our current options.
Kiessling: ditto Remy.
Gignac: inflated price for a good player who is a regular in France squads of late.
Lacina Traore: huge at 6'8, obviously good in the air, can score with both feet, powerful, quick and hardworking, relative unknown, a good bet at around £3m.
Huntelaar: good player, out of sorts but huge potential, would be about £10m, but if its a choice between him and Dzeko, its Dzeko every time.
C Cole: similar type of player as Traore, who we can get for cheaper.
Raheem Sterling: ridiculously talented, young, hungry player, conveniently at QPR, where Jay Simpson is on loan and doing well. a swap may be on the cards.
VERDICT: Chamakh to come in for sure, Sterling to come in for about £2m+Simpson, Traore also to arrive. No Dzeko despite my wishes. Eduardo to go on loan, Vela may be allowed to follow suit.
RECAP: out: Almunia 3m, Silvestre, Senderos, Campbell, Merida, Gilbert (all free), Eduardo (loan), maybe Vela (loan).
In: Neuer/Lloris 10m, Sakho 10m, Savic 2m, Sissoko 10m, Sterling 2m+Simpson, Traore 3m, Chamakh (free).

To the martinez/lfc post, its not a surprise, rafa's been tracking him for 2 seasons, he's dithered and now man city are sniffing around, , he's on the verge of the world cup squad and his price will go up if he gets in it.to me it was a no brainer he should have bought him instead of aquilani and only 10 million.however lfc are in the box seat as athletic want san joses loan to become permanent, and with a 58, 000 seater being built and suseata as an adequate replacement will sell.alonso

Got this from a very good source. Should make the papers this week : Murray holdings in debt of 750 million, 400 million payable now. Murray can no longers renegotiate loans. Lloyds own 11% of MIH so they influence and KNOW what is happening. This is what walter is trying to tell you. In laymans terms Rangers are part of MIH and they are about to be put into administration therefore putting Rangers into administration unless someone buys them pronto, which therefore puts us joint top because of the rule that any club which should go into administration will automatically be deducted 10 points.

The source is a guy who works in city trading, genuine guy not even into football just deals money and is certain it will happen. Believe what you will.

You heard it here first..

My best mate just come back from italy with his girlfriend, apparently in the Italian press Juventus are planning a £12million bid plus a fringe player (believed to be Momo Sissoko or Christian Poulson) for Alberto Aquilani in the summer. Also mentioned something about Rafa still there main managerial target.

I would just like to say that the rumours and speculation on this website makes my day. Happy reading.

Liverpool – Firstly, Torres and Gerrard are not leaving FACT. If we do finish in the top for, expect Liverpool to enquire about the transfers of Turan £12–13Mil (Galatasaray)– who has already been touted as a Liverpool fan. Milner £18–20Mil (Villa)– This is due to the fact he is english, and has been outstanding all season. If he has a good world cup expect an increase of £5Mil on his valuation. Cahill £8–12Mil (Bolton) – With his blood clot injury, Benitez may opt for other options, and we may be outdone by Man city, Chelsea or Man utd. Tomkins £5–8Mil (West Ham) – This is the another english possibility for Benitez who sees the potential in the young hammer. Kjaer £12Mil (buyouy clause – Palermo) – The obvious connection with Agger, however Benitez realises the player is highly rated not just by Liverpool so maybe opted for one of the English Centre Backs. Jovanovic Free (Standard Liege) – Done Deal. Parker £6–8Mil (West ham) – Price may alter depending on whether hammers are relegated. Benitez wants more english however will not pay aver the odds for a player reaching 30 as he learned from Keane if he does not play every week. These are the players that are the most Benitez will enquiry and put bids in for.

There will be other surprises regarding Benitez's transfer activities. Such as the rumours surrounding Onuoha (city), ireland (city), martinez (bilbao), are just a few.

However, this speculation all depends on the sale of current players and the mounting talks regarding takeover and/or investment into the club.

Possible sales – Skrtel £6–10Mil
Fabio Aurelio – Free
El Zhar – £1–3Mil
Riera/Babel – £8–12Mil
Aqualani – £12–18Mil (poor)
few youngster £1–2Mil

Just to confirm that Gerrard and Torres will not leave Liverpool Next Season. I won't bother saying my cousins brothers friend is the window cleaner of Gerrards uncle, because Liverpool WILL finish 4th and even if they don't will not just walk out on the clubs fans after one faltering season. In rafa we trust

Man utd– in – Rodwell £15–20Mil
– Defour £8–14Mil
– Ashley Young £20Mil (if Nani goes)
– Lloris, Neuer £10Mil

– out – Neville (Coach)
– Vidic (£20–30Mil)
– Hargreaves (loan)
– Andersen (£8Mil)
– Nani (12Mil– maybe?)

Arsenal – in – Hazard (£6Mil– Loan back)
– Sakho (£8Mil)
– C.Cole (If WHU go down)
– Green (£8Mil)

– out – Silvestre (Free)
– Simpson (swap plus sterling)
– Walcott (Depends on world cup selection or loaned out)
– Fabregas (This or next summer)

Not sure on Chelsea's targets!

Just speculation, nothing concrete.

Liverpool and Man City to swap Ireland and Gerrard with money being added by Man City.

Villa to buy Arteta from Everton to give a bit more creativity in the midfield

10 Feb 2010 13:10:05
Ribery will be going to MAN UTD and not Real Madrid. Benzema will come first then him and Evra will encourage him to come. The deal will be worth 30m max. No team will over that for an injury prone player

Amazing the amount of Arsenal rumours over the least few days. 2 defeats and suddenly the world is nigh! As for this player will leave to so and so for £8m with so and so coming in for £6m – absolute bollks! Until negotiations begin in the summer, nobody (and I mean nobody, not even the managers, players or agents) know what the actual sale will cost! Prime example – Gary Cahill was being touted at £12–15m and was a sure fire bet to be at one of the top 4 clubs come August, now with his blood clot sidelining him, expect to see a much lower valuation. 3 reasons – firstly, he won't be making the England squad, secondly that clubs will now want assurances from medical staff that his health is 100% before signing any deal and finally – Bolton could be relegated meaning the player would be available at a much lower cost. As for the whole Marouane Chamakh saga – yes he has said he wants to sign for Arsenal and I expect the deal will be confirmed at the end of the season, but what do you actually know about him? He's had plenty to say and with all the hype he had better live up to the reputation. Remember just a couple of years ago Arsenal signed the 'most prolific finisher in European football'. Yes he suffered a devastating injury, but he hasn't proven to be the player we all hoped for. To also suggest that Wenger will completely overhaul the team is ridiculous. Bearing in mind RVP has been out for the majority, the fact that we are still (just) challenging is testament to the strength of the current side. Yes we all know that we're not as strong as Chelsea or Utd, but neither do we claim to be! We'll win nothing again this season but that's not the end of the world. There's 4 competitions every year – we don't take one seriously at all, half heartedly attempt the other and purely focus on league position and Europe. You can't win them all! Not on our operating budget anyway. Once Armoury square is sold, Arsenal will be one of the most financially secure clubs in England. With the investment of Kroenke, transfer funds will be readily available for sensible signings (as always). Wenger does want experienced players in, but to suggest a 28yr old David Villa will be bought at £30m is laughable. If the Chamakh deal comes off, there will only be one other forward in with Eduardo likely shipped out. One thing is for certain, we have enough promising young players for now, as the whole situation with Merida shows. Merida is quality, but unlikely to stay knowing he cannot dislodge Fabregas. There is also competition from Ramsey, Denilson, Diaby and Wilshere. Too many players fighting for position isn't necessarily a good thing!
Again i've seen several valuations of Senderos – £3m, £6m etc. The reality is that he will move for FREE as he is out of contract in the summer. Jan was our last chance to sell him on and it sdidn't happen. As for Campbell being released in the summer, don't bet on it. Providing he is prepared to settle for reserve team football he is likely to be retained as Wenger brings in the likes of Savic who is unproven at this level. Gallas – still in contract until 2012 so won't be going anywhere for free.
Finally, Fabregas – its election year and there's always loads of crap spouted. Barca can talk a deal up as much as they like, but the fact is they cannot agree a deal with anyone whilst in contract. Talk like that will only end up in legal action. Real Arsenal fans ignore it, its just a way of selling the back page. If AFC did sell him, it would be nothing less than £60m. Can Barca afford that? Very doubtful! Why would they sell Iniesta or Xavi to accomodate him. They cost nothing and are proven first team players. Why would Barca pay such an extortionate amount for a player they let go for free? Barca also use a 3 man midfield with Keita or Toure in the holding role – if Cesc did sign, something would have to give! As for Real signing him, no chance! He is a proud Catalan and would not turn to the dark side! Besides, Real's marquee signing will be Ribery – with Kaka, Ronaldo, Ribery, where would they play Cesc? All media bullsht! Don't believe a word of it!

Blatantly obvious to everyone that this summer will be a big one for LFC.
Torres to Citeh will be the big one and is already verbally agreed – £100m is the price and is too much to turn down. All the money from sales will be ploughed back into the squad so expect some big signings..add to this an extra £20m from the sale of fringe players (Babel, Degen, etc.) then £120m will be more than enough to sign Villa £35m, Mata £20m, Turan £20m and still have £45m to spare – Jovanovich is obviously a free too..Torres is fantastic but his injuries over the past 2 seasons are a worry so as an LFC fan – good bit of business if you ask me!

BIG CARDIFF CITY NEWS

I am related to a senior member of staff at CCS, and have been told the following in confidence:

Cardiff WILL survive today's court hearing.

This is because the club has had secret talks with a secret investor who was born in Wales but has resided in Norway for the past two years.

The investor has agreed, in principle, to put £50 million in the club but on certain conditions – I have no idea what these are, by the way, but it will probably mean Peter Ridsdale either leaving the club or being demoted from Chairman with the new investor taking the reigns of power.

Talks will begin at the end of May and due diligence/handover is expected before July 1st.

One thing I can tell is that part of the deal is highly likely to mean the removal of Dave Jones as manager.

The new investor has a replacement in mind (again, no idea but did mention that he was a younger manager who has played in the UK and is very widely respected within the European game).

As well as the £50m investment, the investor also wants to strengthen the youth academy and give the new manager an increased budget so as to gain promotion next season.

Players have been targeted for the next campaign and there will be a lot of transfer activity this summer, should the deal go through on schedule. These will include loan/permanent deals for fringe players in the Premiership, players from Rangers/Hearts/Hibs/Celtic and players from mainland Europe plus the best quality young players from the lower and non–leagues:

One name that had been mentioned was ex Poole Town player Charlie Austin, but given that he's just signed a new contract at Swindon Town and is happy there it's doubtful he'd want to move down the M4 to Cardiff.

Expect big changes on and off the field this summer at CCS.

A very reliable source inside Villa park has told me that MON has been looking at Dynamo Kiev's striker Artem Milevsky as a potential source of goals for Villa. He's young but with plenty of international and Champions League experience. He is not on any media radar at the moment either and is apparently unhappy at Dynamo and wanting a fresh challenge.

10 Feb 2010 01:01:58
