Middlesbrough set to hold talks with totenham over the signing of Harry Kane on a season long loan.

Didn't look very good at all when he was at Norwich

He didn't look good at Norwich, because he broke his foot about 2 games into the season. However, at leicester he looked a goal hungry striker. Would be a good addition

11 Jun 2013 21:59:28
Lucas biglia is wanted by southampton boss mauricio pochetino, he is out of favour at anderlecht.

No change think he will join Norwich

Very close to joining Lazio from most reports.

Yeah comment above has it spot on, he'll join Lazio very soon.

Norwich fan dreaming big, Again! not going to happen my son he won't and never will join you :L he is close to getting a deal done with Lazio so let have a look at that step, Lazio "huge" club everybody knows. Or Norwich and average premier league club? yeah not really going to happen.

EastSaint (was Ludacruss)

Why are we linked with so many cdm? we have MS, JWP and JC.

Don't abuse Norwich fans EastSaint, people like you do my nut, What's the point. anonimous saints fan

There has been reports this evening that Harry Forrester from Brentford is on the verge of signing for Ipswich. Could be true could be fake. Would be a great signing.

I can confirm that he defo is not mick has other players in line to fill the wide midfield roles

Hi is not signing for you because he has signed a new 3 year deal with Brentord

You can confirm he's not signing.! Who are you.? Love how people on here seem to think they know everything. When actually your probably all bored old men with nothing better to do. And for those of us that live in the real world and don't think we're a football critic we come on here to check the rumours only to have them unconfirmed by some know it all

With the amount of interest from higher calibre clubs, Forrester will move this season. perhaps not to Villa seeing as they released him before. and the fact he declined a move to Ajax and chose Brentford shows he chooses clubs where he feels he'll get plenty of playing time. ITFC under Mick I think will be a big lure for Forrester myself especially as they are after a number 10.

You don't need to know who I am mate just take my word for it he won't be signing for us ok

Crawley are to confirm the signings of Matt Tubbs and David Worrall this Friday on loan and permanent deals respectively.

crystal palace have ended there interest in ex burnley skipper chris McCann.
and have turned there attention to Kasper kusk from Aab in Denmark. They are also waiting on Thomas Ince's decision once he returns from isreal from u21 duty.

12 Jun 2013 08:16:42
McCann plays in a completely differnet position. Palace first signings (3) of the summer and I don't mean the confirmation of Dobbie will be announced Friday.

12 Jun 2013 14:15:18
God, no. he is cack

11 Jun 2013 20:14:13
portsmouth in for JP McGovern to add width to right side.

Thought that was why we were signing Ricky Holmes

We are signing Holmes this week

12 Jun 2013 16:46:33
portsmouth in talks with Holmes, who will sign by the end of the week, so McGovern won't sign.

He has played in the centre for Swindon, and many occasions. If this is going to happen, which I hope it does, then he will not be a right-sided player, unless we miss out on Holmes.

PUP

11 Jun 2013 20:06:48
Swansea want one of Getafe's Angel Latifa or Pedro Leon (who is on loan from Real Madrid). Also considering a move for Sporting Lisbon's Diego Capel.

11 Jun 2013 20:08:07
I'm hearing Aston Villa and also QPR are highly considering a move for Celtic's James Forrest

Its known Villa are in talks for another winger currently ontop of Tonev, so possibly!

11 Jun 2013 20:03:37
Watford are close to signing A. Merkel on permanent from udinese

11 Jun 2013 20:30:18
The German chancellor is signing for Villa? {Ed003's Note - I put the earlier post on banter,if we could keep it there that would be great,it was the first thing I thought aswell lol.}

11 Jun 2013 22:27:58
Young midfielder, not getting many games, highly regarded. Alex looks like being the typical Udinese to Watford transfer.

12 Jun 2013 07:59:43
Great young promising parlimentary player

Be a great signing

12 Jun 2013 12:53:29
isn't he co owned by Milan?

No Udinese own him outright.

Was one of the hottest prospect in football

He's premier league standard. Not going to happen

He's not Premier League standard, he's not playing regularly for Udinese so is exactly the type of player we're likely to get.

Unlikely as has said he wants to dominate Europe

14 Jun 2013 05:24:07
Merkel is a bit like Sordell, Hoban- released from a top club and now has to fight to realise the potential he has. Would be good competition for Abdi as he excels in the hole behind the strikers.

11 Jun 2013 19:53:03
Mark Robins expected to unveil James Vaughan and David Clarkson as his first two signings this summer by the end of this week

Good luck with JV he flew to Bora Bora this afternoon

11 Jun 2013 19:45:11
Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore been in talks with Akpo Sodge, and a deal looks likely to be announced shortly.

If you mean Akpo Sodje, you might be right.

Lol, ronnie moore is on holiday at the momment so highly unlikely

11 Jun 2013 19:38:25
John Joe O'toole is due in Bristol over the next 2 days to finalise a £50,000 move to Bristol Rovers. He has turned down offers from Southend and Northampton.

Don't see how he turned Southend down when we're in an embargo plus we have no money

Don't see how you can say we're under an embargo when we aren't. It has been lifted!

So hope this is true

Rm shkas wrong again, embargo not lifted!

Does any1 know who cobblers will sign as a keeper? And please don't say mat duke. !

Me? Wrong Again? Nope. You ain't a true Southend fan then son! My neighbour works at the club and he said its been lifted. It also said it in the Echo. 1 FIRST HAND Source! (My Neighbour)

13 Jun 2013 07:32:19
But it is widely to be matt duke we are signing so what you expect people to say

For the record, I know numerous people involved at the club inc ron and geoff king, also players and other staff! I also used to work there myself! so. son!. I do know my stuff and no exactly what the current state of affairs are!

Well Boss, I Believe My Neighbour Who Spoke First Hand To Ron Martin And Various Other People Working At The Club. It Was Also In The Echo That The Embargo Has Been Lifted. And For The Record, Matt Duke Is Signing For Us! Not Northampton. You Lot (Northampton Fans) All Talk A Load Of Cobblers!

Very witty

So you lose smith to sign duke. ? Haha

14 Jun 2013 01:00:39
Sorry I ment us northampton r to sign duke didn't realise you were intrested as well

14 Jun 2013 13:46:20
Funny even most bradford fans say he's coming to northampton

Duke imo poor much rather have smithy

11 Jun 2013 19:25:08
fulham's dan burn is number one target for championship side middlesbrough, the defender impressed in his loan spell with Yeovil last season and was set to rejoin the glovers if no better offer came in.

He'll be off to yeovil then.

Any signing would just be on a loan

Could Yeovil not buy Dan Burn or would he cost to much

Dan Burn is seen as the future for Fulham, They have no intentions of selling him permanently, they want to send him back out on loan for a season to get some good first team experience then look at having him in their first team from 2014/2015 season, so no we Yeovil could not buy him on permanent basis

Fulham aren't interested in selling atm. See if he can hack it in the championship then he might get a chance in the first team

I don't think Fulham are looking to sell, dan burn is still a part of their future plans

11 Jun 2013 19:22:25
Barcelona want Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen. Man City are also keen

11 Jun 2013 19:20:20
Aden Flint has signed for Bristol City for a value of around £300k

11 Jun 2013 18:48:50
A couple of signings will be announced at Walsall in the next 1-2 weeks

Targets being:

Richard Hinds
Cameron Belford
Ian Mcloughlin
Romuald Boco

Febian Brandy will also sign a 2 year contract with the Saddlers but it will include a buy out clause if a bigger club wish to buy him in January

Boco going to Chesterfield, done deal

11 Jun 2013 22:39:23
Why would we sign richard hinds when we have enough defenders and why are we looking at cameron belford I don't know because he's useless so another rumour that has no truth so stop putting carp on here. Ian Mcloughlin wouldn't surprise me if he signed for us because he was a good keeper when we had him on loan this season and I don't think we need boco now adam chambers has signed a new deal.

11 Jun 2013 22:43:11
If brandy signs a new 2 year deal I can't see walsall putting a buy out clause on him as he's quite young so we could a decent sum of money for him if he has another really good season but walsall need to keep him if they are to boost their play-offs push next season for promotion and we stand a good chance if we keep brandy and grigg

We wouldn't want both Belford & Mcloughlin. just won't happen. Definetly prefer Mcloughlin out of the two though!

11 Jun 2013 18:47:19
Lewandowski wants to join Manchester United this summer after Dortmund insist he will not be sold to Bayern

Come on lewandowski join united not bayern munich

Staying in germany

He will av to join Chelsea or man city, utd will go down hill wiv moyes, true blue

11 Jun 2013 18:10:25
Oxford United are very close to announcing a double swoop. Veteran center back Richard Hinds will come in on a free after being a released by yeovil and attacker Brit Assombalongor on a free transfer from watford after an impressive loan spell with southend united last year.

Thought Assombalong had signed a new deal at Watford?

Assombalonga most certainly won't be leaving on a free, he's rated highly at Watford. Just signed a new deal too.

11 Jun 2013 19:57:51
Britt signed new contract last season. Likely to go out on loan to League 1 club

I would love Assombalonga to come to Oxford, even if it was just a loan. would have to be until at least January though.

Haha, he's on a signed a 5 year deal last summer, good luck getting him on a free. He'll probably go on loan to a League One club or stay with Watford

To be honest I can't see Watford selling any players until we know who we do and don't get from udinese and even then he won't go because Watford need backup

Hinds would be good for oxford solid player at Yeovil, just age starting to show but will more than cope with league 2 football

Southend Have Contacted Watford About Assombalonga. Expect Him To Be Unveiled As Our First Summer Signing On A Season Long Loan Within The Next Few Weeks

No offence intended to southend but watford will loan him out to a better club in a higher league

11 Jun 2013 18:16:05
This afternoon a deal is thought to be close to final between Nottingham Forest and Yeovil Town for last seasons top scorer in league 1, Paddy Madden. A fee of around 1.5 million.

Please say you are joking about that fee

Thats a load of rubbish, players are all on holiday and madden is staying for another season min

Please tell me this is not true {Ed003's Note - It's not true.}

Can't see this happening

There would be no incentive for Yeovil to sell at that price

No incentive you only got him for 25k so you would make a massive profit on him

Madden is worth about a million at present on the back of a brilliant season, but this may be the time to sell him. One bad season will see his stock drop dramatically! In my opinion he is slightly over rated.

Well we got him for 11k but Carlisle have a 50% sell on. Yeovil could get at leat 2 mill for him and tbh I think the club will want a fair bit more than he's worth, more than most clubs would want to pay for him

11 Jun 2013 18:12:15
Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire is very close to a move to yorkshire rivals Hull City according to a newspaper in Hull. A fee in the region of 2 and a half million pounds is what's being talked about.

Don't think we would spend that much on an proven player at premiership level

11 Jun 2013 22:49:22
I would drive him there myself for 2.5 million he's to slow for the premier league hope it's true give wait some money to spend {Ed003's Note - expensive rates you have there mate.}

Dont think we would pay silly money like that we wouldn't even put a higher bid of 2m for Kasper

500 k is the most Sheff Utd will get for him!

12 Jun 2013 10:04:28
It's a first class service edd

Doubt it we've just signed a young Blackpool keeper on a years loan

11 Jun 2013 18:07:11
birmingham city are on the verge of signing clayton donaldson from brentford for a fee of around 500k. donaldson had a year left to go on his contract with the bees but it's thought the front man had no intention of extending that deal so a sale now is in everyones interests.

11 Jun 2013 18:47:47
Basically Birmingham are skint which is why they can't put in an offer for Jack Payne of Gillingham, in spite of Lee Clark wanting him, so that is a no go

Donaldson is out of contract isn't he?

11 Jun 2013 19:34:55
We have no money so doubt we can pay that much for a player! Think again

Ha Ha Ha HA!

We are totally skint.

There is no chance of us paying £500. never mind £500k.

11 Jun 2013 22:01:58
Donaldson has a year left

If he has a year left on his contract and a fee is therefore involved, it's not going to happen.

11 Jun 2013 17:57:59
Aston Villa will sign Aalborg striker Nicklas Helenius in the next 10-14 days

I hear he has a choice between Villa and Sheffield Wednesday, wonder where he will end up lol

14 Jun 2013 14:47:05
Where is Sheffield? Sorry bad taste. Given the chance where would you play?

11 Jun 2013 17:56:03
Argyle have confirmed the signing of Morcambe striker Lewis Alessandra!

11 Jun 2013 17:49:52
york city are close to finalsing a 60,000 deal with southend utd for goalkeeper paul smith. smith set to sign a 2 year deal with a option of a 3rd subject to a medical.

Hope so. really rate smudge

Have York City really got that kind of money. mmm.

Just signed a young keeper a backup gor Ingham. Unlikely unless Ingham leaves. Even then 60k is too much better off putting that towards a creative midfielder or another striker.

11 Jun 2013 17:42:15
Birmingham preparing to offer Steven Doris of Arbroath a contract. He impressed on trial. Partick Thistle also want Doris.

11 Jun 2013 17:07:14
Diego Fabbrini could be the first loan signing of the new season for Watford.
The player had some interest from Newcastle in transfer window in January.

Good piece of business

Would this mean vydra out

dv

12 Jun 2013 00:18:39
verstile player - replacement for Yeates I presume

Let me see Loans? Watford? Could happen.

Redbird

Cardiff fan abusing us. We may have got some loans in but we didn't change our identity for money!

Hardly abuse just a bit of banter. And thanks to us all you needed to do was beat a mid table Leeds United at home

Redbird

Redbird is not wrong on that point. But the football gods were against us that day.

11 Jun 2013 16:20:28
Tottenham and Southampton to fight for the signature of Feyenoord defender Stefan Vrij who is currently at the European u21 championships with Holland after scouts from the teams were impressed with his performances

As a back up to luke shaw if he chooses to leave

Hes staying at feyenord babe.

Not going to happen. De vrij signed a New contract this summer. He won't leave this season

Why would we buy a CB / RB to cover for our Left back?
Cover for RB, yes, that definitely makes sense though

11 Jun 2013 17:07:50
Middlesbrough are reported to be one of a number of English sides showing an interest in Hungary international midfielder Jozsef Varga.

Good player. too good to play in the championship

11 Jun 2013 16:41:39
Southampton enter race to sign arron cresswell with billy sharp offered as make weight

Why would they want another left back?

Good, that will hopefully mean the end of Fox.

Because Luke Shaw can't do it all and Fox isn't quite EPL standard.

Ehhh. cover?!

Errrr, I wonder?

Yh why would we when we always have the reliable Danny Fox to cover Shaw? Hmmm

"We always have the reliable Danny Fox to cover" reliable?? I do not think so mate. Danny Fox will be leaving Southampton with Burnley in the lead for his signature.

Re Fox I Think he was being sarcastic.

Sharp is having talks with MP IN JULY

11 Jun 2013 15:59:22
Middlesbrough are interested in Hungary international Jozsef Varga.

11 Jun 2013 15:45:14
Adam Le Fondre is in talks with Sunderland. A swap deal is likely with Le Fondre going to Wearside in return for january flop signing Danny Graham + 1 million.

Danny Graham wants to stay in the north east, his most likely destination is Middlesbrough.

I doubt this rumour. If. and it's a big if Reading do decide to trade Le Fondre as a make weight or part of an exchange deal then it will be for a player like Hooper of Celtic otherwise Reading will hold on to it asset. No need to sell and no need to add to a strike force already capable of championship football next season.

11 Jun 2013 15:40:16
Gus poyet has now left brighton and hove albion by mutual consent. He has not found a club just yet but his contract has been dismissed. Charley oatway is still at the club for the for see able future.

Bye bye!

We won't let him leave we won't sack him we will wait for a club to pay for the rest of his contract

I can't see Bloom throwing away £2.5m compensation on Gus' contract.

Yeah right. they've thrown him out and kissed goodbye to the £2.5m they can ask for under the buyout clause in his contract.

Next?

Confirmed??

12 Jun 2013 10:27:05
They haven't thrown him out he's on gardening leave. The only reason you ever do that is if you intend to force someone to see out there contract, ie wait for someone to come in and buy him out.

He hasn't left. Albion's website and tv website says he is still at the club.

He's in Barbados. How can he leave if he's not in the country?

Doesn't sound likely. The anticipation of a resolve to this matter would have meant that it would have been on the Seagulls site on a matter of seconds.

11 Jun 2013 14:09:53
Steven Reid is set for a emotional return back to Millwall

Would be 'GREAT' if it were 'TRUE'? Wages would be how much? Can't see it myself but worth a try! COYL

He has always had a soft spot for millwall and if wages could be agreed that would be great. Tim Cahill next?

PLEEEEEEEASE! be true

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Overrated, and injury prone

11 Jun 2013 15:40:30
Rotherham have had a bid accepted for Sheffield Wednesday striker Chris O'grady. Dave Jones is wanting to offload COG but is reluctant to sell to a 'rival' in the same division such as Barnsley.

O, Grady will not leave us and drop a
division, almost certain he will be a Barnsley player this week

11 Jun 2013 16:53:19
O'grady is joining Barnsley. The clubs agreed the fee today

Jones does, nt rate him and will sell him to a rival. He needs money so he can buy the strikers he wants.

I'll show my arse on wath roundabout if he goes to Rotherham!!

Not a chance

300k already agreed with Barnsley just sorting personal terms he wanted to stay at Barnsley and said so last season

Cog should sign or we should move on to others and not letting it drag on. No news coming out of oakwell to get me to renew my season ticket.

Stood on Wath roundabout waiting with camera.

No news coming out of oakwell person
Weve has all new in side staff dave flickcroft has said that we are no longer gunna be a bottam club and in flicker we trust

Believe in Barnsley

Hope thas got plenty of time and patience thal need it mate

Barnsley got no £ at all, who's going to come? worked their, they not got a penny,

Might not have any money. Better than spending money we haven't got. Look at Wendy and the blunts, know where I'd rather be

No news coming out of oakwell about Chris O Grady do we have to wait for Monday when the new people come in and tell us there no money for him or as it just been a stunt so we buy our season tickets. all other clubs doing business except ours same every year its about time this club had some ambition for once so we can see the club moving forward and not just talking about it.

We have no debt and clearly we have got a newcchairman and cheff egsec
If we dint have no money why we bid 300,000 on cog

11 Jun 2013 15:44:02
Adam Le Fondre of reading is a target for Celtic if Gary Hooper leaves to a premiership club (most likely Norwich or Sunderland).

Gary hoopers going to Reading though so there would be no point in selling Le fondre

So. would would you rather play in the championship or the bpl?

Dream on reading hooper would not go to championship when he can go to the prem norwich favourites to sign him

We can do a swap deal

Norwich in pole position to by hooper I guess its because celtic now we'll over pay

LOL. Hooper isn't an amazing player, but he still wouldn't go to reading.

Cardiff/Palace/Hull/Soton are more likely.

I can promise you infanct I will get my backside waxed and post a link to a picture on here if hooper signs for reading, not a bloody chance! Utter rubbish! If hooper leaves Celtic it will be to a prem club, norwich are still favourites for his signature but if not them it will be Sunderland or someone else in the epl! Reading seem to think they are about to bounce back up! Not a chance! You were by far the worst team in the epl last season, absolutely awful, cracks all over your side and a lot of work still to do, I hope to see you back up soon as I like reading and would like them to be in the prem certainly over the that is QPR or Ipswich BUT I'm sorry to say you won't be bouncing back up and won't be getting hooper! Sorry :) {Ed003's Note - No thanks}

Hooper would be stupid to go to Norwich they have about 4 strikers if they sign the one they are after now and their manager likes to play 4-5-1

If Reading were the worst team they'd have finished bottom. They didn't. QPR and their team of overpaid prima-donnas did.

I hope we (reading) don't sign hooper rubbish overweight and overrated player

Errr qpr came bottom so how were reading the worst team? Qpr spent millions and reading didnt. Qpr had a different caliber of players and so on this evidence qpr was clearly the worst team. Reading have the points record for winning the championship so if any team has a chance of coming straight back up it'll be rfc.

We played 4-5-1 because we didn't have any quality strikers. I expect things to be a little different next season.

We have four strikers. at the moment

If Rotherham have the funds this bid could well be for Madine!

O'Grady will be a Barnsley player very shortly, the fee is agreed he wants to go there so its all about dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

We have lucciano becchio 29, holt 32, vaugh (will be sold) and RVW! We player 4-5-1 last year because we had more options upfront. This Swedish guy is a CAM who plays in the hole, not a striker. He will be used as competition for Wes! Not as a striker! Hooper still our prefered target!

Actually, I'm pretty sure QPR were worse than us last season ;)

12 Jun 2013 12:18:43
at 1, there would be a point to it as LeFondre doesn't and can't start a game, where as Hooper would and will start games, aswell as bag the goals but he's better than championship! EPL for hooper, hope he stay on for another wee bit, best we've had in a while!

Bigbadjohn

^wat did I just read? In the Championship he would be brilliant with ALFie or Pog

No arguments from me I retract the statement that reading were the worst team, QPR were and are and will always be the worst team EVER haha! So I will rephrase reading were the second worst team! :)

Either way Hooper will not join reading!

And either way reading will NOT bounce straight back up IMO I hope that I am proved wrong as like I said before I LIKE READING and would love them to be playing in the EPL but I just don't think they are quite ready yet! They would need to spend a lot of money to sort out their team!

As I say I hope I'm proved wrong but I won't be proved wrong on hooper going to reading because that will never happen!

Hull Norwich and Sunderland still favourites and hull have just bid 4mill so unless they are going to up that to 6 they will lose out to Sunderland or Norwich who are willing to spend more than that!

We have rvw that's it becchio is no good, holt is old and no good, we need more fwds and we can play more up front with what we have what's the point

12 Jun 2013 19:43:06
A. Z. has said today that Reading will be signing between Five & Seven players this Summer and two of them could be this week. So that could mean there is some truth in the Hooper rumour so the chap from the earlier posts should start warming the wax! The people who are writing Reading off should remember they still have pretty much the same team that won this league last year along with the Manager that came second and hopefully up to seven new faces which A. Z has said will add strengh in all positions.

The team hasn't changed much from the team that won the league so I don't think we'll have too much trouble.

You aren't getting hooper! You have the same team that won it 2 years ago! 2 years is a decade in football! It's all about hunger and desire not quality!

Hooper will not join! Hull just had a bid of 4mill (joke) rejected. He won't be let go for less than 6. 5 fact! He will not join a championship side even if you believe you are going back up. He will go to a premiership team. Seriously stop deluding yourself haha :)

^^are you the same guy that said Wayne bridge wouldn't come to Reading? Have you looked at Monaco lately and who they signed and want to sign. This is football. Money mad world. Anything can happen. I say I hope Reading FC sign Hooper

It's about heart and desire more the quality?

Did you really just say that?

I bet Crystal Palace's players desire winning the prem but I'll bet you a million pound it ain't gunna happen.

West Brom to put loan bid in for Rodwell you heard it here first!

Very strong rumours linking him to West Brom. Jumbo36

Would be good for both clubs!

I heard that on the grape vine this morning as well. He would be an excellent addition to the baggies.

Makes sense realy

Yeah great stuff! He has hinted at a loan exit aswell.

No way he gets too many injuries

He will be loaned out but not yo West brom as he will noy get starting 11 footvall! This is because of west brom's established cdm pair Mulumbu and yacob

Bury to sign Calvin Zola, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Marvin Morgan all on free transfers also Robbie Blake could also sign on a free transfer

All of these players are journeymen footballers who's only loyalty is to themselves and their back pocket.

We can do much better than this lot.

I would take Zola and Akinfenwa now. Not sure about Morgan and definitely not Blake.

I was talking to the player in the town earlier, and Morecambe are in talks to re-sign their former midfielder Garry Hunter from Barrow.

Think this is rubbish, there would be no talks, Gary would sign at the drop of a hat for his home town and L2.

Is it April 1st

Absolutely no chance of that happening.

If Jim signs Hunter, my season ticket goes in the dustbin.
If I was picking a worst ever Morecambe X1 Hunter would be in it.

Hunter seems destined for Lancaster City FC.

Cheltenham to announce two new signings over the next couple of days: Brian Saah and Gavin Williams. Jamie Cureton to sign next week after he returns from holiday.

Fingers crossed after the rumours about Cureton maybe staying at Exeter.

Looking forward to seeing Elliott and Saah as a partnership as well. Gavin Williams will bring experience but I think Cureton and Saah are the key signings.

Cureton hasn't been offered a new contract by Exeter. Tisdale has said he is upset about losing him, however has admitted that Jamie Cureton will not be an Exeter player next season.
The rumours about a "private investor" providing funds for his contract is utter tosh. Exeter are in financial difficulty, and Cureton has agreed a contract with Cheltenham.

Charlton Athletic have enquired about the availability of MK Dons midfielder Stephen Gleeson, it's suggested Dons may sell if their valuation of 750k is met.

Can't see us valuing him that highly with only a year left on his deal. We'd be lucky to get £250K once it gets to the January window. And he's a free agent in six months from then.

Somewhere in the middle (£500K) by my reckoning. That's about right, I'd say.

Every single summer this happens; a Championship club enquires for Gleeson and he's supposedly certain to leave!

The only Championship club he'll be with is us when we're promoted.

12 Jun 2013 08:31:07
"The only Championship club he'll be with is us when we're promoted"

This happens every year MK Dons fans think they will be promoted.

Why sell gleeson for a knocked down price? why not keep hold of him and risk losing him for nothing in the hope we get promoted and he stays!

12 Jun 2013 10:59:18
Dons need to get rid of Robbo - taken us as far as he can - now just a whinging, excuse making lardy. Not good for the club.

"The only Championship club he'll be with is us when we're promoted. "

What sort of happy pills are you taking? They're very strong it seems.

Complete an utter delusion. I honestly don't know where all this nonsensical, airy-fairy optimism comes from.

Us? In the Championship? Laugh! Winkelman would have a heart attack at the thought of promotion. After all, it might require some expenditure, and investment in the team (heaven forbid!). No, he'd rather have us languishing in the third tier ad infinitum, selling any promising players from our academy for pittance while banging on with some rubbish about how the club is "going places". Ambition? Ambition vacuum more like.

Joke of a situation.

2 points.

1: We won't be going up next season or anytime soon (next 10 years minimum).

2: The point about Robbo is correct. We are not getting anywhere with him and Winkelman's lack of (aka refusal to provide any) funds isn't helping either.

We're a disaster right now.

:- (

That's because every year it is a realistic possibility

12 Jun 2013 19:31:34
Get rid of Lewington. & Martin as well, do these players have no ambition? Clearly not, there never going to get in the championship, would of got rid of Robinson, Hartford & wright. Got kenny jackett in

So, Mr : - ( why don't you go back to supporting the club you used to?

Some people.

The point about Robbo is as incorrect as any point can be (from a football point of view. )

a) The loyalty the guy has shown is nothing but admirable and he deserves the patience to rebuild the squad and have another crack at it after an injury-hit season.

b) Wait until next season and keep quiet when we're doing well. just think about how you wanted him gone.

"That's because every year it is a realistic possibility"

What?

What don't people get about us having the finish the stadium in 10 years of moving that was in the pre signed agreement that winklemen signed? Also were in 3mill debt? You want us to spend and spend when there is no money to spend. People wanting winklemen out go home your stupid he took on the club that was in debt and he's paid most of it off with his own money. There is more about a football club than what happens on the pitch.

"So, Mr : - ( why don't you go back to supporting the club you used to?"

Because Wimbledon FC were my team and they moved and became MK Dons. So there IS no team to "go back to".

Yeah, some people indeed!

"The point about Robbo is as incorrect as any point can be (from a football point of view. )

a) The loyalty the guy has shown is nothing but admirable and he deserves the patience to rebuild the squad and have another crack at it after an injury-hit season.

b) Wait until next season and keep quiet when we're doing well. just think about how you wanted him gone. "

When can I book him to perform a few miracles for me at home? I have a massive tank of water and really fancy some wine.

If he's so good why are we still in the same situation as 4 years ago? Stuck in League 1. Admittedly Winkelman has hog-tied him with money (another bluffer) but why can't "Saint Robbo" achieve what Gary Johnson at Yeovil did? The guy is over-rated and his only unique selling point (no pun intended) is that he's not the youngest manager in the league anymore.

DreAm on will ya mate, we've got no hope & bob hope of doing well, is he loyal? He still has had contacts with other clubs its just they haven't been right for him,

I think Robbo is over-rated and over-hyped. Given the "great facilities" and the way the club is "ready for promotion", he seems to be having a lot of trouble achieving what's required of him. And all this nonsense from Winkelman! If want promotion Peter, if you really do, it's going to cost some money. Do you know that? It'll require you to spend some money. If you can't/won't stump up then stop banging on about the grandiose dreams you have for us. Either stump up or shut up.

So, should Michael Carroll*have bought the club then?

* go look him up and you'll see what I mean.

Anyone suggesting we spend money we haven't got got while chasing the dream has failed to pay any attention to what's happened to plenty of clubs in our league (and the one below) next season.

Sorry if "sustainability" is a dirty word to you but I'd suggest you find yourself another club.

Sustainability is great, as long as you don't spout crap about "ambition" or "going places". That's the kind of rhetoric Winkelman has been eschewing for years but yet there's bugger all in the coffers it seems to back up his lofty "ambitions". The club needs promotion to progress, and that will require investment in the team. Like I say, either stump up or shut up.

:- (

Why does every happy-clappy fan think I want to put the club's finances in jeopardy? Just because I want to see us take a promotion challenge seriously does NOT mean I want to bankrupt the club. I just want an end to the silly optimism by other fans, the manager, the press and, ultimately, the chairman who all keep saying we're going to be challenging to go up (and have been saying this since 2008/09) when every year we fail because we cannot cope with injuries, suspensions, blah blah. Yeovil proved it can be done. They may come back down soon but they won't go bust. We are a bigger club than Yeovil, with bigger potential, and if we did go up, we'd have a better chance of staying up (assuming Winkelman fishes his wallet out accordingly aswell, bit doubtful, but. ).

It's not about being happy clappy, it's about having an understanding of how perilous the finances of any football club are, and making sure we don't go the same way of many others.

Can you really imagine there being any nationwide goodwill if we were to find ourselves in the same state as Pompey, Coventry, Plymouth etc? I wouldn't want to be the one with collection bucket at Gate 2, put it that way!

It's about putting foundations in place that will stand the test of time. If I was to tell you that getting Category 2 Academy status was more important come May 2014, than gaining promotion then you'd probably laugh. That, to me says it all about how short-sighted some of our fans are.

Arsenal are a prime example of what happens when too much emphasis is put on being too cautious. Their fans are happy that the club is financially sound, but ask them about all their recent silverware. I'm sure the majority of them are very disgruntled that they don't challenge for trophies while their rivals do. I'm sure if you asked them they would tell you that the comparative lack of investment in their squad compared to their rivals must be frustrating. Hence why I am frustrated with MK Dons' current approach to things. If, every season, the Arsenal chairman, the manager and the press started saying they were contenders for the title but yet expecting it on the cheap (much less investment than their rivals), the Arsenal fans wouldn't be too impressed, would they? How many years is it since they won something? 7? 8? I wouldn't blame them for being angry.

"It's about putting foundations in place that will stand the test of time. If I was to tell you that getting Category 2 Academy status was more important come May 2014, than gaining promotion then you'd probably laugh. That, to me says it all about how short-sighted some of our fans are. "

You are missing my point sir. I have no problem whatsoever with financial prudence and building good foundations. But you can't do that AND achieve promotion on a shoestring at the same time. Winkelman's approach has been cautious, I know that, and he's right to be that way. But then if his priority is financial stability, particularly in the near future, then any ambitions and hopes of promotion should be put on hold and shelved until the finances to allow squad investment are in place. If he or the club as a whole came out and said as much then fine, I could accept that. But the spin he puts on it is that he's expecting promotion every season, and expresses his disappointment when it doesn't come. If he's so disappointed then he should prioritise any funding towards building a squad capable of delivering promotion and coping with injuries & suspensions. Otherwise, stop expressing that disappointment and say that promotion is not the priority and that there is no pressure/expectation to achieve it.

He can't have it both ways.

He either stumps up or shuts up.

Ola Toivonen is ready to join Norwich City. He only needs to say 'yes' to Norwich. PSV and 'The Canaries' already agreed.

11 Jun 2013 22:09:18
I would rather a player like Gary hopper or even maybe a few of the free transfers apparently after Jon jo shelvey what a signing that would be

Shelvey would be a huge risk. He is still largely unproven and while he has skill he tackles like a scythe and, as a Liverpool fan noted recently on this site, is a red card waiting to happen.

True but I think he would do well at norwich competition for Johnson or howson

11 Jun 2013 13:49:45
Dean furmen on is way back to Bradford pack aswell and Doyle ready to sign a new 2 year deal

Furman is way to good for bradford he's more likely to sign for donny

Have to agree that Dean Furman is worth a punt at championship level so a romantic return to Bradford unlikely.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid from a fellow Bradford fan. Unlikely any of those three will be at City next season but would love all of them.

11 Jun 2013 14:54:28
Norwich agree fee of 4.7 million with psv for striker toivonen its now upto the player to decide if he wants to join or sign for another prem club (fulham, everton and west brom intrested )

Awfully overrated and won't do much in the prem. Dapz

He had already agreed a deal with Fulham mate for 2 mill.

Deal done with norwich not Fulham

No he hasn't "mate" look at the tv and at all the press! Fulham had lodged a bid that was under the asking price, it was not accepted. By all account norwich has made a bid that exceeds the asking price and it has been accepted.

Personally I don't know enough about the guy but doesn't seem to be better than what we have in my opinion. Not a prolific finisher but might be good competition for Wes, but I think we can do better than him, would rather have Shelvey in that holding role, and I don't particularly rate Shelvey tbh!

He doesn't play a holding role. He's an attacking midfielder/2nd striker.

So because you have never heard of him he's automatically no good, and you don't want him lol, I'm sure Chris nos his job better then you do

West brom are leading the chase for him

Got nothing to do with not hearing of him you numbty! I read reports on him, look at how he plays in videos online etc! Actually do my research rather than just simply getting a hard on at the first site of someone foreign coming to the club!

Someone wrote Shelvey is unproven, so is this guy, never played in the EPL has a terrible scoring record for the national side and pundits all say his misses are what has relegated him to the bench fr the national team. He is also a dirty player, always diving and getting other players sent off. That would not fit in or go down well in England and he would be battered by the epl players! Finally he isn't the kind of player we need, we would be persons to use him as an out and our striker (not his natural position) so he would surely be used in the hole as a CAM. So then you have to ask 1. Is he better than Wes (probably on par tbf but Wes is quicker and more skill full at passing however this guy is older) 2. Is he better than others we COULD get in that role? No he isn't certainly not for 5mill! I would much rather spend 8mill (which we have to spend easily on a great pacey attacking midfielder who is a great passer than this guy!

I feel the same about hooper I think we can get better for less! If we do get him the board will NOT pay more than 6.5mill! And even then that's too high! There are better options out there! Be patient and good things will come, I trust in CH and the board but I do however not particularly like this guy I don't see him as a step forward.

As someone wrote on here just because he's tall, foreign and scores goals does NOT mean he is a great acquisition!

Actually he ain't a bad player and would be a good signing for NCFC, the likes of everton and fulham have been looking at him so he can't be bad, a strong player as well so could well suit the prem, have to wait and see but could be good.

12 Jun 2013 17:22:27
Toivonen is better than all of the norwich players and he would be a great signing for any mid-table team. much better than wes hoolahan

Better than all the norwich players?! Get a life mate! Utter BS! John Ruddy, Seb Bassong, Robert Snodgrass, Anthony Pilkington, Wes Hoolahan, Grant Holt have all earned their place in the EPL they are quality players!

Ola is not for us, even his comments in the press are arrogant and not what I want at my club.

In reference to other teams like Everton and West Brom looking at him. Just because a team are looking at him doesn't mean they are going to buy them. I work in A&R I go to on average 7 gigs a week to look at bands I have heard about, so I watch about 21-28 bands perform per week. I sign maybe 1 band every 3 months! He is most likely being watched purely because of his very public dispute over his contract!

He is not the right fit for city!

Toivonen's press comments are nothing to be worried about. The fact is that he doesn't watch EPL.

Nontheless he will know by now that Norwich City don't play long ball and that we have signed players from Lazio and Sporting, so he will be in good company. He will know about our league, he will know about our Club and he will know that we are a debt free club with an improving side.

The facts speak for themselves.

Maybe the intended reason for his comment was to show respect to the fans of his current club, PSV, which is no bad thing.

He cannot really comment on a transfer move when it hasn't all been agreed. What if he ends up staying at PSV? Perhaps he should really have said "no comment" but how many of us would have?

To those City fans who think Ola should show more respect to us- He is a PSV player right now. He is not our player. If he does decide to join us we may find we have signed not just a good player but a loyal one too.

Or because he wants to join west brom

Possibly, however it is impossible to know and there is no record of West Brom having made an offer. Just speculation that his agent has contacts at West Brom and that he must have touted his player to them.

Aden Flint expected to complete move to Bristol City today and Adriano Basso expected to complete move within the next week. Lee Camp and Gary Woods are having trials when pre season training starts, and Stevenage will accept a 150k bid for James Dunne.

I work at Failand and I've seen SOD and these players are his main transfer targets. Very reliable source.

150k? dream on. Stevenage won't sell him for that.

Why would Lee Camp, one of the best keepers in the Championship when he was there, have to prove himself to a League One side?

You need to sign gary woods sod knows a good player when he sees one

I would like to see Lee Camp as number 1 next year. The first name linked that really makes me think yes please.

Doncaster striker James Coppinger could be on the move yet again as it's thought Bristol City are more than keen on making Coppinger their latest signing in what looks to be a busy summer for the club. Sam Baldock is expected to leave along side attacking minded midfielder Albert Adomah, so city looking to bolster from line with highly rated donnie man. A fee of around 350k is though to be Doncaster manager Paul Dikovs valuation of the striker and city are prepared to pay that.

Striker? Since when has Copps ever been a striker?

Copps is a midfielder

In his testimonial year. I don't think so

On the move 'yet again'? he's been at the club for nine years, he's not going to leave just prior to his testemonial to a league 1 team

Sod would want him but very unlikely that Copps would want to go down there.
He is developing a property on teeside and looking to settle in there.

Yep he's going to drop down a league brilliant career move

Utter nonsense. Copps, for one, is a midlfielder, and two, this is his testimonial year so do you really think he's going to drop down a league? I don't think so. Ps, he's only moved once on loan once in 9 years, so why the 'yet again' can I ask? RTID

Nothing to do with a testimonial year, what happened to paul green, if we can get 300k sel-sell-sell copps way past his best

12 Jun 2013 13:25:37
An interesting rovers fact is that when Coppinger first signed for us he was down as a Striker and in official records as a striker, he has since moved more to his now natural position as a midfielder and obviously is now down as a midfielder.

Having said that Gary Woods was down as a goalkeeper and he moved to his more natural position as a spectator ;)

RTID

Swansea are looking at Simon Kjaer and Micah Richards as replacements for Ashley Williams if he leaves the Liberty.
Also Niko Kranjcar is being heavily linked with a move to Swansea.
Swansea are also looking to bring in two strikers ahead of their Europa League campain, and the Swans have made an official enquiry to Sporting Lisbon about the availability of Diego Capel.

Norwich have agreed an 11m fee for Capel, that's not me being an person Norwich fan like the rest of them because I am a Swansea fan but I know that Norwich have agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon.

There is no way capel worth 11m

Norwich have not. Like seriously!

This sounds good! I really want to see Aubamyang with a Swans shirt on, but doubt he will. let's hope we have a sizeable transfer budget.

Diego Capel 11m? funny considering Lisbon value him at around 6m.

Aubameyang would be great but said he wants champions league, so very unlikely unless he's not offered it

11mill you can have him from a swans fan

12 Jun 2013 12:06:52
cant see Swansea going for kranjcar he's been injured a lot and would likely want higher wages than would be offered

Not Micah Richards - injury prone and too expensive. Kjaer was mentioned last summer

More talk of Liam noble to Bristol city! Apperently his agent was meeting with o'driscoll today

11 Jun 2013 14:31:07
Huddersfield to sign four strikers :

James Vaughan
2 European Strikers
Simeon Jackson

This is due to :

Vaughan Beckford and Robinson returned to parent clubs

Lee Novak to Birmingham

Alan Lee released

Leaves us with no strikers apart from youngsters Jimmy Spencer who will be loaned out and Daniel Carr who could be loaned out or play in reserves

Reserves? Going to struggle as we're not in a reserve league any more.

Vaughan and Jackson up front would be lethal. And you can only hope that the two European strikers are even better. One can only hope this is true.

Vaughan is sorted not heard anything solid about Jackson though. can't comment on European strikers as I haven't heard anything

Noting is sorted with Vaughan yet, still in negotiations and the lad just went on his honeymoon ( imagine he's pretty busy at the moment) so nothing is going to be sorted for a couple of weeks

The 4 strikers will be:
James Vaughan
Dexter Blackstock
and 2 Europeans

Robins has played down the blackstock rumours, he still has 4 years to run on his contract and fee could be too high making the move unlikely

Not called reserves now, its the U21 development squad and I`m sure that's what the original post meant. You are also allowed to play senior players who are returning from injury. So basically you do have a reserves.

Black stock is a no go according to the Huddersfield Examiner due to transfer fee and wages, Jackson would be fantastic up top with Vaughan but can't see Huddersfield having the budget for both players wages with Vaughan requiring a fee probably in excess of a million.

Febian Brandy will put pen to paper with Yeovil Town within the next few days, personal terms have been agreed and it's thought the former manchester united trainee could be announced as a Yeovil Town player as early as next week.

Brilliant little player so is there any truth in this rumour? Would love him at yeovil

Nottingham Forest have accepted a bid in excess of 2 million pounds for midfielder Chris Cohen from an unnamed premier league club. Although the team tabling the bid has yet to be confirmed, it's thought West Bromich Albion are the club involved and negotiations are at an advanced stage between the two clubs.

He's not worth two million and this rumour will never happen.

Yes he is worth 2 mil he's probably our best player and premier league quality

It seems a battle for Bristol Rovers captain Tom Parkes has commenced between Barnsley and fellow Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, both teams are looking to sure up their respective back lines after conceding too many goals last season and the former leicester man is thought to be both teams first choice. A fee would be required as Parkes is still under contract at the memorial, something around 200k is the suggested price tag, and a bid from one of the above names club is already thought to be on the table.

They call him Tom Parkes, he bites and he barks, just watch how he sparks, as quick as the larks. hands like bins, his team always win, with fish like fins, he's loved by all. including his next of kins lol. {Ed003's Note - getting worse}

Considering Rovers bought Parkes a season ago for 200k and since then he's gone on to be captain, I expect they would be wanting more than 200k for him.

To the poet. don't give up your day job mate. you're definitely no Wordsworth

I know for a fact this rumour is untrue.

We paid 200k for him so why would we want to sell him for that price? Sorry but this canot be true

Oh dear Ed. was it something I said?. but c'mon, you know it. I'm a great football Poet. whatever the time, I have rhythm and rhyme,. I just sound so good, got words in a flood. just call me Bud lol! {Ed003's Note - Roses are red,violets are blue,the poems you make up in your head,really really are poo. Bud}

It's painfull mate,

I thought the poem was the best thing about this rumour considering this rumour is a load of hannah montana!

Parkes can't wait to leave Bristol and get back to the midlands.

Roses are red violets are blue/ i'm off down to oakwell how about you

Parkes can't wait to leave Bristol? seeing as I know him, I can tell that you sir are a liar.

Really hope htfc don't get a bradford reject I didn't rat ehim in leauge two never mind championship if we sing him WE WILL BE FIGHTING FOR SURVIVIAL AGAIN!!!

Bradford reject?

Htfc will be fighting for survival without him i'm afraid.

We bought him for 150k at the beginning of this season so why would be sell him for 200k? Plus he has become captain so surely he's worth more/we will ask more than that? And what's the HTFC fan chatting about Bradford reject?

11 Jun 2013 14:15:41
Charlton are interested in Burton winger Jacques Maghoma and Jay Simpson, released by Hull. They have also tabled a bid for Spurs striker Jonathon Obika who had a successful loan spell at The Valley last season

Obika is free

Still has a year left so will command a fee!

12 Jun 2013 08:30:04
Obika is contracted to Spurs, I doubt he will be free.

Obika still has a year on his contract at spurs and in the local newspaper it said rumor has it that tottenham are a nightmare to negotiate with and they just want money but obika is one of our main target

Garry Hooper on his way to Norwich as they look to strengthen their attacking options, what this space

Stoke maybe but can't see it myself!

According to dutch press Norwich have had an offer of 5. 5M euros accepted for Ola Toivonen, with just personal terms to be agreed after Swedens international games.

Source: Just google 'Norwich City Toivonen' and click on news

Yeah this looks to end the hooper saga once and for all in my opinion. unless we are completely reshaping our forward line. Not against that to be fair.

Certainly not the end of the hooper sage the guy is a CAM who also plays as a striker from time to time but his natural position is in the hole, so if anything this would be the end of the Shelvey, van ginkel saga! Haha! Not that van ginkel was ever coming lol!

Not sure about this guy tho, I feel we can do better and should get better! Time will tell!

swansea city set to start a summer spending spree with the signing of danish striker andreas cornelius for around 3m, cornelius averaged 1 goal every 2 games last season!
they also interested in competing for the signing of pierre emerik aubameyang, the striker has said he is unlikely to join the welsh side but laudrup feels the promise of europa league football and swansea' increased wage limit believed to be around £40,000-£45,000 could persuade the gabonese international to join.

I love us to take a chance on cornelius. We won't get him for £3m though. Closer to £5m I'd have thought. Particularly with other clubs interested. As much as I'd love it to happen I think we can forget about aubameyang. I'd put my morgage on him not being with the swans next season.

Slowness from the board will prevent us from getting him. They will wait, wait and wait and see if they eventually might be able to have him a little bit cheaper much to the irritation of some people and much to the great delight of other people. But suddenly he's gone, I am afraid.

Yeah the board Aren't like that. You just assume because there's some "stories"

The board have always done right by the club, a few bull stories in the papers and people are quite to take a swipe at them, its mental.
he's a promising talent but unfortunately doubt he'll be a jack and would cost more than 5 mil

The reason we had Michu is because all of the other clubs were pondering weather or not to get him, the swans came in quickly and signed him, so they are not as slow as is made out

Swansea City are after Peter odemwingie from West Brom (Evening post).

A 32 year old trouble maker. If this is true things are getting desperate now.

Wouldn't want trouble maker

The story has probably planted by a club desperate to get rid of him and an agent desperate for commission

Dont need him at swansea please

Evening post don't believe that guff

In all honesty I think he would fit in lovely, he can pick a pass, bang one in and still pretty nippy at '32' be a great squad player with all games to played next season, just my opinion as it seems different to every other swans fan :s

Let's not beat around the bush here, you already signed Luke Moore from us and Odemwingie for all his failings is a quality striker and 10 times the player that Moore is. 30 goals in 80 PL matches isn't a bad rate at all

11 Jun 2013 13:23:52
Jamie Cureton's move to Cheltenham is still expected to happen. The veteran striker has been on holiday for the last few weeks.

11 Jun 2013 13:23:42
Paul Tisdale is a shock contender to join John Ward at Bristol Rovers. Tisdale is increasingly frustrated at the financial constraints he is working under at Exeter City and the chance to replace Ward in 12 months time is the clincher. Ward signed Tisdale as a player at Bristol City.

2 plus 2 equals.

This is garbage. He'd never leave City to be a number two, even to a bigger club. He could easily get a managers job at top half leage 2

Looking at the league table for the last few years its hard to say who the bigger club is.

Ward walked out on Bristol City in the 90's because he was having authority challanged by another man being brought in. I would be stunned if he would allow a fella to come in on the promise of eventually taking his job.

Bogus.

Lummie, not sugar coating or beating behind the bush but Rovers are bigger than Exeter as far as financial constraints are concerned which is what this runour is about and not looking at league tables! Also it was agreed that John Ward would become DoF in a few years time hence why we're looking at an assistant who can eventually take over as manager. (though Ward has already expressed that he would like to remain as manager for at least 2-3 years considering results, of course.

I can't see Tis walking out. He got us into this mess, he's the man to get us out of it. This rumour is nonsense and disruptive.

Darrell Clarke is Wards number 2!

Well this was wrong!

11 Jun 2013 13:23:36
Kenny Jackett has suggested a cash and swap for Millwall's Andy Keogh.

Doyle for keogh i'd take that all day

What's the matter jackett don't you know any other players from any other clubs? pathetic! if true?

Lomas wants to have a look at all of his players next week & make his mind up on ins & outs! So Jackett nothing will happen yet!

Keogh straight swap for ebanks blake would be nice.

Jackett didn't know how to sign a forward at Millwall. He got lucky with Wood. Please take Keogh, despite what most Millwall fans think he is not good enough for the championship.

What about a swap with Leigh Griffiths then? He's still a Wolves player & been on loan at Hibs? I would love to see him play for 'WALL'!

What about Leigh Griffiths then Mr, Lomas? Worth a try?

Hate to break this to you but ebanks-blake is a free agent now he left wolves couple weeks back but millwall desperately need to sign a proven goal scorer or we will yet again be fighting relegation next season

Ebanks Blake has been released and has a broken leg

We can wait for a player if his quality.

11 Jun 2013 13:22:26
Brian Saah is expected to be announced as Cheltenham Town's first signing of the summer.

11 Jun 2013 13:20:26
Exeter City midfielder Alan Gow is being lined up to join Bristol Rovers in a cut price deal. Exeter are being forced to sell due to financial issues at the club and Gow is thought to be keen to join a club with promotion potential

I've heard he's off to Burton Albion

11 Jun 2013 13:19:59
Reece wabara is going to sign in the next few days along with Noel hunt. McDermott is also after Noel hunts brother Stephen hunt

11 Jun 2013 13:16:33
Leicester City have just bid £800k for Gaby Zakuani from Peterborough Utd!

Not sure its enough.

You would get him for that with the odd add on, but doubt Leicester would want him surely you are building for promotion

Lol that's a no go then

11 Jun 2013 18:11:34
I'd sell him for that! Taxi for zaki

Bye Gab!!!

See ya Later Gabs, I'll drive you my self

11 Jun 2013 12:01:04
Ben Reeves is in talks with Crewe and Bradford City.

Hope so he is young and would fit perfectly into the crewe side.

Got released by southampton.

11 Jun 2013 13:04:57
Jay Emmanuel Thomas to be reunited with Sean O'Driscoll when he signs for Bristol City later this week

This isn't going away and I have been talking to a few Ipswich Town fans who say that he is just desperatly wanted off the bill. He is not out of contract but would probably be let go for free.

11 Jun 2013 12:02:12
As a west ham fan I was just looking at some of the top recently released players. Our squad size currently stands at 16 so could we not accomodate some of the following:

Mark Schwarzer, Danny Simpson, William Gallas, Paulo Ferreira, Chris Baird, Andrey Arshavin, Yossi Benayoun, Denilson, Florent Malouda, Roque Santa Cruz, Franco Di Santo, Ross Turnbull, Sebastian Squillaci, Jermaine Pennant, Dean Whitehead (Stoke City) and Mladen Petric

Am sure some of the above would add strength to our already depleted team Forget Carroll
and sign some of these Freebies up

11 Jun 2013 13:50:47
You could start by not spending £40m on Andy Carroll

£15m Transfer
£25m Wages over six years

Simpson and di santo only ones I would take

11 Jun 2013 12:00:09
Glenn Whelan and Jon Walters are set to leave Stoke with Celtic and Crystal palace interested in the Irish Duo for £6 million

11 Jun 2013 12:56:30
Christ this is about the 5th you posted this rumours, are you their agent trying to get them a move?

This is so boring these two arevover rated and championship players at best

Absolute rubbish. Palace are not interested in these two.

Celtic are interested in walters don't know about whelan

11 Jun 2013 11:55:11
It's not the same as RVP as Ince is under 24 and therefore can't just leave on a free.

11 Jun 2013 11:40:42
rumours have linked Chesterfield with ex Owls and Blades midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern, released by Carlisle United, former Spireites loan striker Davide Somma, freed by Leeds United, and AFC Wimbledon's former Cardiff winger, Kevin Sainte-Luce.

Sainte-Luce just has to sign is contract, which Neal guaranteed he will do when Neal gets back from his holiday later this week! Not true

Hope it isn't true sainte Luce is a great talent

If Sainte-Luce fails to sign for Ardley, I really think he could be looking at a short lived career. I can see the financial attraction in signing for Chesterfield, but I think understandably he'd receive a lot less protection and support and Chesterfield wouldn't see the best of him either. Loyalty is respected and if he had an exceptional season I don't think anyone would begrudge him a move come end of next season, but for me, now is too soon for him.

We aren't offering big money at the spireites.

More money than what we can offer him, I don't want him if he's after the money, I want a player that cares and gives 100%

Correct. The new signings will all be on 3k or less

3k or less? What planet do you live on? If you think League Two players on average for an average team earn that much then you're deluded. Try £500-£2000 absolute maximum. Most are on around £1000.

Wimbledon can't offer more than 1. 5k/week to anyone, let alone a 20 year old.

Even £2000 is a bit much, I couldn't name one player that deserves to earn 2k, other than maybe maghoma at burton

Apart from Cfc players Richards is on the best part of 3k a week

If you get somma he will be a great signing if he stays fit, that lad could injure himself buttering toast

League 1 average wage is £1700 pw, so league 2 clubs won't pay any were near £2000 pw

KSL owes Neil Ardley big time for getting him back on track after his run in with the law. Needs to keep a low profile and let do his talking on the pitch. The 'real' Dons gave him that chance and he needs to repay the favour.

11 Jun 2013 11:28:54
Long time West ham and Newcastle United target Wilfried Bony is expected to have talks with Anzhi Makhachkala and Benfica this weekend over a possible move. This may signal the end of interest in the player from the Premier League

11 Jun 2013 11:27:26
Charlton have tabled a bid for Jon Obika. Addicts also looking to sign Jay Simpson

Obika rumour is true. but Simpson was offered to us not the other way round.

We are after a Burton Winger I have been told

We are after Maghoma of Burton apparently

Hope this is not only true but Spurs are also reasonable with the price and Obika doesn't get gready when it comes to wages.
Wasn't that impressed with him at first but that changed as he definitely was a key part of our end of season run.

Maghoma is a free agent so we have a chance now that money for transfer is not needed

11 Jun 2013 11:22:41
Martin Skirtil will go with Rafa to Napoli

This is true

11 Jun 2013 11:07:04
Southampton looking at arran cresswell. Billy sharp to finally join blues as part of deal?

I don't think we will sell him unless its for silly money. Besides S'TON have Shaw already.

11 Jun 2013 15:19:55
. Villa and Fulham also confirmed as interested. Also Sunderland need replacement for Rose, now he's back at Tottenham and BAE is off.

We need another LB though as Fox is not up to it in the prem and Shaw is very young, got ill/injured a few times last season and can't be expected to play every game. You can have Fox and 2 mill for Cresswell.

11 Jun 2013 11:01:42
Calvin Zola, who has been given 24 hours to sign a new contract at Burton Albion, will reject the contract and accept the offer made by Bury to move closer to his hometown. Rowett has said that he has other targets ready to replace him and some of the rumoured possibilities are:
Sam Williams (Free Agent)
Marvin Morgan (Free Agent)
Ashley Vincent (Free Agent)
Robbie Simpson (Free Agent)
Michael Symes (Leyton Orient - Free Transfer)
Adebayo Akinfenwa (Free Agent)

Nobody kows nothin yet until the 1st July when contracts are up so will people stop puttin stupid rumours on

Still hoping Zola will re-sign for us. The list of players mentioned is woeful, no thanks to any of them especially Symes who was spectacularly unimpressive on loan last season.

I would disagree, Symes was instrumental in helping to get 10 succesive home wins. An intelligent player whom brings others into the game. May look lacklustre but definately is not.

Vincent would be decent replacement for maghoma

Sorry but I thought Symes was pants as well! He scored one great goal against Aldershot, but apart from that he looked lack lustre and uninterested, wouldn't want him back, there's much better out there.

Symes did nothing for me, agree there is better out there. Heard that if Calvin goes then Marvin Morgan could come in, would be disappointing as he is now way as good as Zola : (

11 Jun 2013 10:52:26
A deal has reportedly been agreed for Chris O'Grady from Sheffield Wednesday. An second undisclosed bid in the region of £300,000 has been accepted, with the club now discussing personal terms with COG

Which team

11 Jun 2013 17:14:52
Fee agreed with ambitious Rotherham

11 Jun 2013 10:48:28
I have heard a rumour thatNorthampton town have agreed deals to sign free agents Sanchez watt, John bostock and have agreed a season loan for matt tubbs.
Very good business by the cobblers and look strong contenders for promotion.

Will be very surprised to see any of the above join us this year.

Sanchez Watt - Although 3 league 2 teams mentioned as interested, i'm sure more teams will approach. Would be surprised if dosent go Colchester United

John Bostick - No chance. Will join a lower league championship or one of the better league 1 teams

Matt Tubbs - Would love to see him in a Cobblers shirt. Carnt see it happening. Will want to test himself in League 1 minimum.

I'll eat my hat if this turns out to be true.

11 Jun 2013 19:34:14
guarantee you watt will be going to Colchester tojoin best mate craig eastmond

11 Jun 2013 10:45:28
As reported in the local press, Nigel Pearson has told the following 7 players that they are free to find new clubs: Sean St. Ledger (will be at Wednesday next season), Richie Wellens (Doncaster have made an approach), Neil Danns, Jermaine Beckford, Paul Gallagher, Martyn Waghorn and Danny Drinkwater.

Drinkwater will be the only name on that list which will surprise Leicester City fans, and probably means that Pearson is chasing two central midfielders to compete with King and James in the middle.

Leicester have also rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Andy King, Hull City's latest bid for Kasper Schmeichel, and are one of many clubs chasing Gary Mackay-Steven and Harry Maguire. Nothing more concrete at this time though.

Letting Drinkwater go?

If you look at that list, most of them had real potential before joining Leicester. It's not the first time we have seen this happen

11 Jun 2013 10:40:40
New Sheff Utd manager D Weir has been given a certain amount of money, his first deal will be trying to persuade midfielder Adam Forshaw to move from Brentford. They know each other well from Everton.

11 Jun 2013 13:18:35
David Weir Returned to Everton from a 5 year spell at Rangers in 2012.

At this time Adam Forshaw had moved permanently to Brentford following a loan spell at the club.

They haven't spent much time together in the Past 5 years.

Why would he want to go there?

11 Jun 2013 10:38:25
Kenny Jackett's first signing to be Karleigh Osborne from old club Millwall. KJ knows KO can play in this division and handle the weaker forwards at this level. Will only give him 2 year deal as he knows he would not be good enough if promoted at first attempt.

Why don't you want your great signing Scott Malone KJ? Answer because he is 'RUBBISH'!

Thank god for that

Kenny jacket bought some duffers and malone stank all the way down the old kent road, but osborne did ok when called on, so kenny go look elsewhere and treat wolves to the wonderful football you gave us tee hee

The Wolves chairman has told the fans he thinks he has got another Mourinho at the club getting Jackett? More like another Graham Taylor! Ha Ha!

Osborne good? Sorry mate you must have been watching a different player.

11 Jun 2013 09:12:48
Matt Duke Is Signing For Southend If Paul Smith Leaves For York City. A Deal Has Been Agreed Between Bradford & Southend. Tamika Mkandawire Is Also In Talks With Southend Following His 2 Loan Spells With The Shrimpers Last Season And Wants To Return. Phil Brown Is Keen On Bringing Tamika Back.

Also On Brown's List Are Ben Reeves & Matthew Lund Who Were Both Released By Their Respective Premier League Clubs.
(Reeves - Southampton FC)
(Lund - Stoke City)

Brown Is Also Keen On Rene Howe & Adebayo Akinfenwa. Howe Is In Talks While Akinfenwa Is In Talks With 2 Clubs, Southend Being One Of Them.

Kevin Maher Could Also Return To The Club As A Coach.

Dave Penney Will Be Announced As Southend's New Assistant Manager Within The Coming Weeks Due To The Fact That Graham Coughlan Will Become The Club's New First Team Coach.

Blimey you talk a load cobblers mat tubs sorry he does not want to uproot his family and wants to stay in the south same goes for rene howe you may have some luck with akinfewa as quite easy for him to travel

You really do talk mince! No one is signing for Southend as you are under an embargo because you do not pay your players or staff. In fact 14 days after non payment of wages what's left of your first squad can walk away and join whoever they want! No one in their right mind would join Southend. The players you mention will all play at a higher level. Take off those rose tinted spectacles.

We aren't under an embargo. It has been lifted. So we CAN sign players!

12 Jun 2013 12:13:19
Although we have paid the tax man it is understood the embargo is in relation to unpaid player and staff wages.
No doubt it will be cleared on 30th of June just in time for the transfer window to open on 1st of July. It would be nice if the FA would forward what is owed from the Johnstone Paint Final and there's all the TV money from both semi and final?

Mat duke not mat tubs, READ the comments properly

Non payment of players is an immediate embargo. Once the players are paid, maybe it will get lifted, until then you cannot sign anyone. RM Shaks in 'I'm completely wrong again' shocker!

Telegraph an Argus 13/06/13 says Matt Duke deciding his future with Northampton interested.

The Embargo (If It Is Still There Which I Am Led To Believe It Isn't) Would Not Stop Dave Penney & Kevin Maher Joining The Coaching Staff. So No, I Am NOT "Completely Wrong Again"

11 Jun 2013 09:10:48
Guy Do Prado of Southampton expexted to sign for Millwall

Fingers Crossed!

We can but hope.

Keep him he's 31!

We can only pray he does

st stuie

Crickey all these signings we, ll have a squad of hundreds by the end of the week

Hope he's another Kevin Phillips if 'TRUE'? Has had some off the pitch issues but then most players have had that!

We live in hope? or just a dream?

Yeh that's right he's just like Kevin Philips, we will be really sad to see him go but all good things come to an end, you'll be lucky to have him. We can arrange his transportation if that's an issue?

I would rather keep Guly in our squad over Fox

^that's like saying i'd rather be beaten and humiliated by mike Tyson than lennox lewis, both options are horrible ones

Guly is a saint, I will miss chanting guuuuuuuuuuly when he comes on

Guly will be a southampton player next year and I think next season people will be eating there words

11 Jun 2013 09:08:02
Bent to have a medical at Fulham on, this deal will be closely followed by a PSV double raid for Pieters and Toivonen

11 Jun 2013 15:21:37
Toivonen more likely than Bent (high wages and bigger fee)

11 Jun 2013 09:02:12
Whitts to villa as they have a25/ sell on clause and no dollar

Behave he's going nowhere!

Sorry, do you do an English version of this please?

Can't wait to see him back in a villa shirt,, great news

11 Jun 2013 18:57:19
This has been a rumour every year since he left AVFC.

11 Jun 2013 08:42:41
Ash Taylor to Ipswich for £750,000 once Aaron Cresswell to Everton has been finalised.

Gareth Roberts to be signed on a two year deal.

Owain Fon Williams also set to sign a new two year deal in the next week.

Really hope the Fon Williams rumour is true

Ed- How much is Cresswell worth and where is he going, AV, Everton etc? {Ed003's Note - Whatever Ipswich value him at really.Transfermarkt have him at 750k.}

Can't see us letting Creswell go for less than £2, 500,000. £2,000,000 would be an absolute minimum, I think that's being realistic too. If you were to ask most ITFC fans, would probably be hoping for closer to £4,000,000. Would be a shame to see him go, but we can probably find a decent replacement and use the money to build a top six team.

With the amount of decent free agents about, Ipswich won't let Cresswell go for less than £3m. Near enough all potential signings are frees and a replacement left back will be £1m MAX.

According to the Daily Echo cresswell has a min 4mill price tag

11 Jun 2013 08:23:30
Nathan Doyle has agreed a 2 year contract at Huddersfield Town. Bradford offered him a new contract but Mark Robins has worked with Doyle before and that lure along with Championship football and more money has turned his head.

Be announced by both clubs in next 48 hours.

Hope not div2 standard and only scored 5 goals in his career.

Hope not, much better available, like Marlon Pack for starters.

Don't want Doyle think league one will be too much for him never mind the championship

Very clear at the Bradford end of this that Doyle is someone we'd like to keep but alsso very clear that there is a value, in terms of wages, that City won't go over. So he will move on with best wishes if he gets a better offer. Interesting that Terriers fans have similar opinion of him and unconvinced about him in the championship. Personally I like him. One of those players who seems to have time on the ball and that's down to his movement/spacial awareness. But I agree he has a value and above that there are plenty of others out there as good and maybe better. He's a good player in League 2. Think he'll be even better in League 1. But not sure he's what theTerriers need to keep the Leeds in their place.

Doyle is not good enough for bradford for some of last season he was dropped for ricky ravenhill who is conference standard! huddersfield can have doyle wasting half the wage bill on a mediocre player

I'll give the guy a chance but 1 of thousands isn't going to do much. got to have faith with what Robins' is trying to do, he'll have more insight on Doyle then we will.

Doyle had a dip in form like any other player does I like him and want him to stay in the play offs against burton away and the final he was brilliant. and when he came on when we were 3-1 down at home he sured it up and got the ball down and played football. doyle will be good for us in league 1

11 Jun 2013 10:32:43
Bradford are eyeing up a move for Scott Wagstaff and Serge Gnabry

11 Jun 2013 10:29:57
Danny Haynes is set for Huddersfield Town

Past his best!

He is only 25, hardly past his best

11 Jun 2013 10:28:31
GJ is looking to dutch defender Kerim Rekik for a possible loan deal. He is also looking to another Manchester City player, central midfield powerhoue Abdul Razak, also as a loanee

11 Jun 2013 10:28:17
Odds on Andy carroll returning to Newcastle have been slashed today after ALan pardew said that he was considering all striker options before committing himself. He has a few irons in the fire of which Andy Carroll is. He also eyes Weiman from Villa but he has recently signed a new contract. Andy Carroll is in regular contact with people at home in newcastle and gets regular feeds

We don't want andy carroll he has turned into a sick note and he wants 100k a week not worth 100k a year

11 Jun 2013 10:27:21
With the uncertainty surrounding Matej Vydra - Mr Otter - Watford have lined up a shortlist of Summer transfer targets to replace him.

Ross Mccormack - $1. 5M
Alan Connell - $200k
Big Jim Hanson - $350k
Leigh Grittiths - $2m
Henok Goitum - $200k

Leigh Griffths is worth 500,000 at most, poor first touch, no positional sense but knows where the goal is.
dhman

None of those are even the tiniest bit likely. Try harder next time.

Utter nonsence. If Vydra does leave a replacement will come in from the Pozzo pool of players.

11 Jun 2013 13:33:37
If you're going to make something up then at least make it plausible.

I strongly doubt that you're even a Watford fan. Otherwise you would already know. ;-)

So an Italian will buy a Scotsman to replace a Czech who's off to England / Spain / Germany. In dollars.

Didnt this sort of thing cause WW2?

What's with the $. I always thought we used the £ over here.

Let's face it since January Vydra done nothing so if there was a 15 million pound offer in the transfer window there won't be now on his performances from January to May.

Vydra was still scoring in February, and with good and important goals as well (see our 2-1 home wins over Derby and Bolton). But, yes, it would be silly to think that Spurs or Arsenal would make an offer of 15 million, let alone the 12 million Spurs asked for in January. Vydra just doesn't have the longevity yet. Another year or two with the Golden boys would do him well.

The first choice Czech FULL International striker not worth £15M?

Ok then. {Ed001's Note - he has played 7 games for a country which is not that strong in terms of quantity of players to choose from! Ridiculous comment.}

Ed, he has been the 1st choice whenever fit this year, so why is that such a stupid comment? {Ed001's Note - because they are not a strong country, so anyone thinking a striker with 7 caps is worth ludicrous amounts for getting them, is clearly hard of thinking. They don't have a huge amount of top class players to choose from, so getting a cap for them is not as big a deal as say getting a cap for Spain or Germany.}

Zaha has played 1 game for a country which is not that strong in terms of quantity of players to choose from! Yet he is still worth it? {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't say he was.}

Funny how Czech got to the 2012 Euro QFs just as far as England {Ed003's Note - Shows just how bad the Czech's are then if you are comparing them to England lol }

Fair enough Ed - Still. lucky for Watford that there does seem to be teams out there who think otherwise. I don't know how true the rumours of the January Spurs bid for Vydra, around £12m-£13m are. but it sounds pretty promising. I would rather keep him though, of course. {Ed001's Note - I would say it was lucky for the Pozzos, as Watford are not his club, not that it matters obviously. Anyway, I do think the lad is a good player, though he clearly needed a rest before the season finished, just don't think that a handful of caps for a minor nation make you worth ridiculous figures.}

Re Ed s comment about zaha not being worth 15 m. Perhaps he knows more about player ability/price than Sir Alex?
Vydra had the same amount of assists and over twice as many goals in less games than Zaha. I would say that makes his value more than Zaha. And yes it does benefit watford as well as Udinese. Our CEO stated that any player who leaves Watford, will be replaced with an equal or better player {Ed001's Note - well I would say that even Fergie got it wrong regularly, so I fail to see any reason to change my view based on what I saw of Zaha, who is the most over rated player I have seen in years. As for price, again you are talking nonsense to try and justify your own over inflated ideas of a player you are clearly infatuated with. His value is what the Pozzos decide it is worth selling him for, not your wet dreams. While I agree that they will probably hold out for 10m+, maybe even get it, for a player that only managed to play well for a couple of months before fading badly, in a league that is not top flight, with just a handful of caps for a minor nation, that is a lot more than he is actually worth. Maybe not as much more than he is worth than Zaha went for, but still far more than his value yet.}

Ed, whatever is lucky for the Pozzos is lucky for Watford. Forestieri was a Udinese player, now he is ours, presumably for nothing. Vydra is a Udinese player, but anything the Pozzos get for him is surely going to help Watford in some way. Not too different to how we only got a fraction of the funds from our player sales before the Pozzos came.

Ed 001 must be a fan of a championship club who got turned over by vydra and zaha in consecutive games! {Ed001's Note - er no. I am a Liverpool fan who thinks Vydra has only just recovered from a serious injury and it shows. Great for the first couple of months then faded as the season went on. Zaha is just nothing special, an athlete masquerading as a footballer for me. He does some good little flashy tricks and then punts the ball into row z. A quality player would be able to at least put the ball across goal in the general direction of a team mate. He was even worse in the U21s, when he should have stood out against his age group, if he is so special. You must be a bit of a saddo, who can't understand the difference between being biased and having an opinion.}

Barry Bannan to Yeovil.

11 Jun 2013 15:15:36
Paddy is on his way, likely to be in the region of 1. 2M have heard through the club this afternoon, not great to be honest.

Great loan signing if we did, but couldn't see it happening

I am pretty certain of it. My friend's mum knows John Fry's (the Chairman) wife. They talk about YTFC quite often and she was right about the transfers of Paddy Madden, Lewis Young, Dan Burn and Marek Stech.

Bannan to Yeovil - Certainly not happening.
Madden on his way - Same.

But I bet she was wrong about the other 100 transfer targets

So what was the reason given for selling a club asset at a giveaway price. Surely this information was divulged by your "friend of a friend", as well?

just hears that luke rooney from Swindon will be a Cheltenham player at the end of next week.

Old news this has been going on for ages now!

Rooney is off to Plymouth.

11 Jun 2013 10:13:47
Aiden Flint will move from Swindon to Bristol City today, in a move which will cost City almost 400k after Swindon paid 150k for flint from Alfreton town.

Swindon have now received official bids from two championship clubs for Wes Fodderingham, the player was scouted last season by England for the u21 jersey, the bids currently fall short of Swindons valuation but they are prepared to sell.

Wolves have enquired twice about James Collins and it is expected that they will make an official bid prior to pre season starting, they have to offload a couple of players first.

Andy Williams is the subject of interest from Brentford as is Gary Roberts, Swindon do not want to sell either player although Roberts would be allowed to go if the price is right.

No news other than Byrne, Rooney and Bostock to join, this will leave a threadbare squad for league 1 survival next year.

It's just over £300k

The tv Radio Bristol sports reporter Geoff Twentyman has just tweeted that Flint is done and he is going to the press conference to announce him starting at 5. 20pm today.

One in the bag for £300k

11 Jun 2013 14:26:57
er. £300k NOT £400k

The fee is 300k but city are paying the 20% sell on to Alfreton town, which is an additional 60k so nearer to the 400k plus there is an additional payment of 20k if City are promoted

Collins has indeed been subject of 2 bids from Wolves and is not happy at Swindon, he will leave soon.

Fodders is wanted by QPR but the fee of £1.5 million is thought too much by 'arry.

Drey wright in talks with Ipswich over 250k +add ons deal

Defnitely a decent prospect, lives locally and with his fathers town links, it looks viable. Yeates and Wright wouldn't be a bad pair for the wings.

This defo won't happen

11 Jun 2013 09:33:52
burnley set to sign marus dickinson on a two year deal also chris mCcann to hull on a year and a half year deal

Year and a half deal?!
He won't sign a year and half deal in the summer, that leaves him free to walk away at jan transfer window. 2 year may be!

Who on earth is he? As a Burnley fan I wish Chris McCann was not on our gossip page and instead news about who we are after

11 Jun 2013 09:32:48
hi ed do you have any chesterfield news? {Ed001's Note - no sorry.}

11 Jun 2013 09:26:40
Emmanuel Emineke could sign for Spurs as they want a partner to play alongside Adebayor or Defoe, Emineke or Bernard could come in

Bernard could be a long replacement for Gareth Bale if he signs for Real Madrid and he is a young star for the future!

11 Jun 2013 09:24:29
Arouna Kone to sign for someone in Merseyside in the coming weeks! (YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST)

Good signing for Tranmere massive coup for them

Tranmere Rovers, I suspect.

Redbird

Everton

11 Jun 2013 09:23:45
Rickie Lambert to sign for Everton?

11 Jun 2013 09:17:35
Leeds to sign Matt Phillips for a swap with Paul Green and money as Phillips is good friends with Ross McCormack and wants to link up with his international team mate.

he would only sign for a premiership team

Now this roumour is one I would love to be true, big strong and pacey.

11 Jun 2013 12:58:50
Palace bound, close thread

Not happening, wouldn't offer Green either, Norris more likely.

11 Jun 2013 08:21:24
Chris O'Grady to agree personal terms on a 2 year deal to become a barnsley player after a fee in the region of £300000 as been agreed between Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley (Source Barnsley Star) it is also understood that we are looking at former loan goalkeeper Ross Turnbull as a replacement for Steele if as expected he goes

Can I just question the Ross turnbull one? He's 28 same as Steele, he will have been on big wages same as Steele and surely the best we will offer is a year same as Steele or does flicker really not want Steele even though he made him captain? In flicker we trust but I find this slightly puzzling

If Steele goes, I expect Ben Alnwick to be the No1 goalie, we sign sign a back up

I agree with the post concerning Turnbull v Steele. Yes - in Flicker we trust, but I think this is a big test. Goalkeepers reach their peak in their late twenties so I would like to see Steele offered a 2 year deal the same as O'Grady. I'm still waiting to renew my season ticket and it is how Flicker deals with this sort of issue that will clinch it for me.

I think the Ross Trumbull rumour is made up.

Steele is on 9000 aweek a lot more than a lot of players at the club, is he that good not good at crosses.

Dont think its made up problem is he's 28 and had no match play

Its got nothing to do with age with steele its about his wages obviously. They don't want to pay what he earns, flitcroft we trust but made himself look daft. Why not just tell the truth!

Spot on 28 in not too old for a GK, many play into thier early 40's and peak Mid 30's. Its about wages. Come on Flicker we are not daft, if you have to invent something at least make it sound good lol

Hes on 10000

No way is it to do with age. Kennedy is 28. He's just signed a 2yr deal. O'Grady is 28 and rumour is his offer is a two year deal. Steele is 28 AND a keeper so is well worth a 2yr deal. Even if "we don't know what our budget will be next season" this 1yr deal tripe goes against the 'not losing our best players for nothing' that Flitcroft seems to be adamant on.

11 Jun 2013 08:20:30
Blackpool interested in Franck moussa from Coventry on a 4 year deal for £500,000

Frank Moussa will move on from Coventry nxt season on a free when his contract is up. he has stated that he is happy here.

Nearly believable until you mentioned a fee and a 4 year deal.

Sorry but oyston doesn't do 4 year deals

His price is 4million. 500k is laughable.

Moussa. Is too pricey and coventry won't sell him. Christie is priced at 5 million. In a. Bid to fend off other clubs.

I think Alberto Noguera was given a 5 year deal last year. {Ed003's Note - Was it not a 2 year deal? }

2 year with option of further year

It was a 2+1 I believe.

5 Million for Christie!! If someone offered 500k they'd snatch their hand off.

£5 mill? seriously these prices are stupidly high, if we start over pricing our players like everyone else does how much is Ince worth?

Trust me for players like fleck Christie moussa. Clarke each one will be six figures. No point in selling assets just prior to a takeover bid!. they are not for sale full stop. They are all part of our promotion push under pressley. These made up rumours are so frustrating.

Ince has been valued at 7 million so those prices do stack up its called inflation my friends.

Fleck couldn't get in the blackpool side when he was on loan and was nowhere near championship standard.

Putting Moussa in the same league as Ince is a bit silly though really,

A lot of nonsense here, let's face it, we are a mid table 3rd division club in administration. The only player worth proper money is Cyrus Christie. He was quality in the 2nd division, and outstanding in the 3rd. He's got the potential to be a Premier League player.

11 Jun 2013 08:14:48
If Jones is sold Mark Hughes hopes to sign Jozy Altidore from AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredevise. He feels that he would work well with the other Stoke players.
A bid of £5 million will be enough to sign him

Great Move!

Rather sign someone like Bony (Vitesse Arnhem) or Uchebo (VVV-Venlo)

I'd say it's Bony>Altidore>Uchebo, but I'd welcome any of the three, so here's hoping we sign one of 'em, since we've been linked with all three.

11 Jun 2013 08:10:30
Craig Forsyth's move from Watford to Derby looks like it won't be happening till near the end of the transfer window, as Watford are now currently very short on left sided players so Forsyth is cover. Derby may turn to Tommy spur from Doncaster

We aren't short at all. The owners have said transfer dealings will be confirmed at the beginning of the new season.

Exactly, so the signing not till near the end of the season.

He means Watford are short at the moment. Without the new transfers, therefore you would need the new players to come in before you can sell Forsyth. If you say that these players will be coming in at the beginning of the new season, what if Derby want him in 2 weeks when pre season starts? What do Derby do?

We may be forced to turn to an alternative?

Please take the cart horse of our hands. Useless player, feel for derby fans

Forsyth's been quality for Derby!

Good player Watford don't know how to get the best out of him. You will see next season.

We played him where he wanted to play. If he didn't perform for the better team its his loss

Forsyth is ok, he just didn't fit into our style of football. When we were playing hoofball he was a good targetman and managed to score some nice goals when he got space to shoot.

Forsyth is a decent championship player and was always ok for Watford, but Zola now plays 3-5-2 which needs wing backs not full backs.

Exactly Watford playing 352 means you don't know how to get the best out of the player.

However Forsyth isn't that important a player to change the system for. So it doesn't really matter, he will be more suited and a better player in the derby system basically.

There's no we are better than you, or he is like Roberto Carlos when he plays for Derby, simply he will become a better player after his move.

11 Jun 2013 08:03:54
After the signings of lee grant, Chris Martin and Johnny Russell, Derby are looking to bring in two more players-a centre back;
killgalon (free)
or sixth month loan from arsenal as dcfc wee looking at the under 21 development squad but the player is unknown.

-a left back;
Forsyth (Watford 200k)
or Tommy spur (Doncaster free)

a third player seems unlikely but dcfc are 100% not in the race for shrewsbury youngster jon Taylor

11 Jun 2013 13:46:32
There is also talk of either Richard Dunne or Titus Bramble at centre back as well!

We are looking for another midfielder as well which will be the 6th signing. Sam Rush stated earlier on in the window that we will looking at making 6 signings.

The club have watched Jon taylor (not thought to be a target now), Harry Forrester and Marlon Pack as young players who could make an impact on the matchday squad.

I will stand corrected but hasn't Clough said he is happy with the midfield.

LCFC message board claiming Waghorne is on his way to Derby by the end of the week.

Could be a load of rubarb that rumour.

Will be surprised if we even go for waghorn now after signing Russell, we have the 4 strikers Clough wants. he IS happy with his midfield

Yeah he may be happy with our midfield now but what about if we get 1 or 2 injuries, it's a long season and Clough and Rush will more than likely plan for a squad not a first team.

11 Jun 2013 08:01:54
Fulham to make a 5m offer for Ipswich duo Aaron cresswell and jay Emmanuel Thomas- I understand cresswell would be loaned back for the season as part of the deal.

I didn't think Fulham had a big transfer budget this window?

Cresswell worth 5 mill on his own and jet worth near 1 mill so town can get some money near what they paid for him

Can't see this as Fulham haven't got money to be buying and loaning players back out. £5m for both I would take with Trotta coming to ITFC as well.

If that was the offer on the table I would take take take.

Creswell is good and even though I would like to keep him, I can't see it happening with this much interest. Sell when in demand

11 Jun 2013 08:26:30
Alan Gow of Exeter City was rumoured to have been at Bradford City's home ground yesterday. Phil Parkinson is looking for more goals from midfield. Gow has 1 year left on his contract at Exeter but £35,000 would be enough to secure his services.

11 Jun 2013 17:45:54
£35,000 would be more like the excess of £200,000

Good player. Could be a possible if Doyle going

£200k, Wow you play too much CM. One year left on a contract with a player who missed a load of last season injured, with a club who are clearly skint.

His market value is a quarter of that at best and Exeter will sell him if an offer comes in.

Off to Gillingham

I agree 35,000 is disgraceful for a player of his potential more like 200,000 or even the region of 300,000 TO 400,000

11 Jun 2013 07:47:21
Heard that one of Gary Johnson's targets at Yeovil is Elliot Ward from Norwich. The defenders is being released and so a free from 1st july. Johnson keen as he has good experience at Championship level

Good defender at championship level, would of thought notts forest will be going for him as well though and more likely to end up there.

11 Jun 2013 15:41:29
Norwich City have reportedly agreed a £4.7m deal with PSV Eindhoven to sign Sweden forward Nils Ola Toivonen.

1. 2 is the expected figure.

I don't reckon so, a player who has just left the premier league. Speculation is no good we might as well just wait for the arrivals to arrive instead of speculating made up stuff. Gary and his close companions know their targets, nobody else so it's just interesting for me to read these rumours and see if any come true. Last year reuben reid was mentioned and we did sign him but many of these players aren't coming who are mentioned on this website.

11 Jun 2013 07:42:46
Nottingham Forest set to put in a substantial offer for Yeovil striker Paddy Madden to tempt him away from Gary Johnson, and Huish Park

We won't sell him. Especially with 2 years still to run on his contract.

Done deal mate sorry he is on his way

Seriously doubt it, and I don't think the deal can be done atm, he's on holiday

Not true. paddys going nowhere. plus billy sharp is still on his way to forest

Well this is clearly lies, paddy wouldn't move after Gary showed so much faith in him, strikers need confidence and he gets that from Gary

This is now confirmed.

11 Jun 2013 06:25:43
Suggestions in Hull this morning that city are about to pull out of the deal for Alan McGregor. I can only assume this is because the price was agreed 3 weeks ago but City are still chasing Kasper. Seems to be an ultimatum from Besiktas that's forcing City to back out.

Give up on Schmeichel. LCFC don't need to or want to sell him for the peanuts you are offering.

Hull are signing jack butland on loan for a season from stoke

Well its peanuts you will get when he's contract expires

11 Jun 2013 05:11:40
West Brom Head Coach Steve Clarke has urged the club's hierarchy to push through transfers for Ukraine midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka and Belgian startlet Nacer Chadli, amidst interest from teams around the continent, as he aims to improve on an impressive maiden season as Commander-in-chief of the midlands outfit.

11 Jun 2013 04:02:18
Oxford looking to sign Cameroonian Clovis Kamdjo, who is a free agent following his release from Barnet. Said to have
impressed Chris Wilder over the past two seasons.

Barnet should never of let him go!

He will be a great signing for Oxford. Make sure you play him in def midfield though! He is bloody shocking at Centreback!

Well we ain't after a defensive midfielder, we already have one!
We need another centre back, I don't want him anyway

11 Jun 2013 03:16:26
Strong links Southampton after Valencia's defensive midfielder Ever Benega. Pochettino a big favorite of the Argentinian.

Why would we sign a player that hasn't played football for four years because he ran his own leg over with his car??

st stuie {Ed001's Note - 4 years? He played in the 2011/12 season.}

^ oh that makes it better, just the two years of no football, also if he did play that season it wasn't any league games as it would say so on Wikipedia

st stuie {Ed001's Note - you use wiki, that says a lot about your lack of knowledge! He played league games, wiki is wrong, as it so often is.}

Yes as I thought he hasn't made a single league appearance since 2009

st stuie {Ed001's Note - lies, he made 29 league appearances this season. You are clueless.}

Hmmmm yea I think i'd rather use the sites dedicated to players statistics rather than your knowlege of players i'm afraid, no offence though

st stuie {Ed001's Note - you mean like wiki which is edited by any tool? Do you not think I have access to the stats and have spoken to his club to check them? What the hell do you think I do here? You carry on believing tabloids and wiki, I will carry on trusting in the official info direct from the BBVA Primera Liga and Valencia CF. You really are making yourself look stupid.}

Good, he looks a 'DECENT' player for sure & SL will make him better! COYL!

I do hope this is true. Would be a great signing and show that millwall have ambition and want to compete in the championship.

Ben greenhalgh

Signed pre contract in feb, will officially put pen to out July 1st

The runner up is at watford and has a huge future if he puts off the field issues behind him.

11 Jun 2013 00:45:03
Barcelona are interested in Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen. Manchester City are also keen

11 Jun 2013 00:41:06
Stuart Bannigan of Partick Thistle the young sensation is wanted by some championship teams including Burnley, Birmingham and Bolton

"the young sensation" You mean he played well that one time, and now he has potential?

Bolton have been linked with Bannigan in the recent past but I don't think he is going anywhere as he has won promotion to the Scottish Prem and signed a new 3 year contract.

11 Jun 2013 01:35:12

11 Jun 2013 00:16:48
Few rumours to bring you today: Chelsea want Arbeloa, Hull want Given and Dunne, Fulham want Bent, and Liverpool want 1 (2 if Suarez goes) of Remy, Ba or Soldado.

11 Jun 2013 01:36:02
Leicester will make a £1.5m to sign Kelvin Wilson of Celtic but Celtic want closer to £3m and Wilson wants to stay at Celtic

No way he is going anywhere for he is first on the sheet at cb, he could crack into England squad soon enough

11 Jun 2013 13:31:19
Totally overrated.

11 Jun 2013 00:39:32
Chelsea are preparing to bid for Arbeloa, as he has experience of English football and Mourinho wants a full back who can play either side, and Arbeloa was one of his main supporters at Real Madrid

11 Jun 2013 00:36:48
Rotherham have offered trials to free agents John Bostock, Sam Hoskins and Reece Brown. The 3 youngsters were released by Tottenham, Southampton and Manchester United respectively and Evans thinks all 3 have potential.

Bostock is going to Swindon.

So good promising young players but Evans wouldn't sign all 3 if the 21 year olds. i'd believe the John Bostock if you had just said him though.

That must be such a reassurance to John Bostock, knowing that Steve Evans thinks he has potential!

Bostock would be a good signing, saw him play years ago in the youth cup, a lot of clubs looked at him but spurs kept him, been on loan to a few clubs,

11 Jun 2013 11:29:20
Bostock isn't going to Swindon, he was sent back early from his last loan due to still thinking he's the bees knees. When he has been passed by numerous kids who have played more games in the last 6 months then he ever has and will.

11 Jun 2013 11:30:37
Bostock will be the next Ashley Paul Robinson, yes WHO. Thought he was too good for Palace and now scratches a career at a really low level.

11 Jun 2013 01:22:25
Plymouth Argyle are believed to be one of three clubs who have offered a contract to former Arsenal Winger Sanchez Watt.
The other two clubs are Northampton and Burton.

11 Jun 2013 07:35:54
Very good player, Quick, Skillfull and Would Welcome him to Plymouth!

Very good player played for some good teams on loan such as leeds think he would do well for the cobblers because we need a few wingers

Plymouth have signed Lewis Alessandra on a two-year contract.

Would be a great signing for Burton.

Alessandra is a fantastic player and he will do wonders down home park and I really am looking forward to him showing off his skills in front of the best fans in the league. Do you think that everything is going our way as this present day. I such a poss git aren't itm

12 Jun 2013 21:48:18
Allesandra decent but I think we could do better

10 Jun 2013 23:58:49
Doncaster rovers have been linked with former doncaster rovers player Brian stock who is now at Burnley but is not getting played enough and wants to come back to rovers
Fact

We must b a mega rich club with how many players we are going sign.

11 Jun 2013 07:55:29
True that Stock has been told he can leave Burnley if right offer comes in. If Doncaster want him they will have to pay about £100,000 - half of what they received for him.

All they need to do is make a sensible offer and Burnley will accept it.

Dyche has said that whilst the door isn't closed on any player currently at the club he will listen to offers for those whom he sees as being on the periphery.

Good he lacks pace and has poor passing ability compared to what the critics told the club.

Don't want him. We're back in the championship but we don't want all the old players back! New faces time for a change but we will take well end back haha!

Good luck to him. utc

To injury prone this would be a step backwards for us

Excellent player. Should have never left! I was quite disappointed he left Rovers because I thought he was merely chasing the $$$$. Take him back though, he was an excellent servant for DRFC

I'd disagree, thought he was a good holding midfielder with excellent passing capabilities, his fitness seemed to let him down ie playing one every 2 games and only for an hour etc

If I was a Doncaster fan, I'd be happy, especially for a nominal fee and presuming a low ish wage.

10 Jun 2013 23:10:37
Heard the Castaignos from FC Twente rumour from a couple of places now. One source suggested NCFC representatives had met with the player after two clubs have agreed fee!

Which ncfc?

ACL have put a bid in to purchase Coventry City FC LTD.

ACL have also released a statement which states coventry city can play all home games at the ricoh without any rental fee

The ACL bid and statement over the past two days is in reaction to SISU taking Coventry out of Coventry. the football league will not hand the Golden Share to SISU now that they plan to ground share and move stadium when there is one available on a free. ACL will then sell there share to Preston Haskell IV who is believed to be behind both bids (one his own) in order to gain control over the club.

Bradford to sign Mkandawire in the coming days with matt duke going the other way

Nope.

I cannot see Millwall wanting Duke.

10 Jun 2013 23:06:02
Chesterfield set to swoop for Romuald Boco in the next 2-3 days. Deal agreed and just ironing out minor issues.

He priced him self out of a deal he wants too much so I very much doubt it! please stop with the silly rumours

11 Jun 2013 12:32:06
Wanted to look at other deals, maybe the deals didn't come as fast as he expected

There is some truth in both statements. From what I here at Accrington he was on £600. Town's initial offer was £1200 but he wanted £2k. Negotiations don't just stop there, you try to broker a deal whilst both parties consider other options e. g. we might come back and offer £1500 in the first year, £1700 for the second, £2k if we get promoted, with the option of a 3rd year on £2k. That potentially a 3 year contract for a lower league player. It depends how much you rate a player. My point is its not as simple as having initial talks and then just saying were £800 apart that's it and walking away.

The deals back on because he's not found anywhere else so he will be joining in next 14 days so stop the thing of us he's priced himself out

Deal isn't on Boco is not even been spoken to.

Until boco signs for us or someone else the deal is out there? Nobody knows what's happening, so let's move on and look to the future what ever will be will be. Just stop saying its not happening and it is 200% happening. leave it alone

Medical taking place today

Not according to Cook he isnt
