Why would we want Hooper? yes he has scored loads of goals in the SPL. but its the SPL! he had his chance to join us but I think there will be some hard work at Carrow Road searching for some decent strikers who can make it in the premiership. saying that, he would be a good back up and can replace Jackson. be a decent impact player like Le Fondre was for Reading!

Nowhere near worth the price quoted. Celtic think very highly of themselves indeed. Stay clear of this one!

I would have believed this it was Cardiff and Malky but not The Swans.

Deeney has had an exception season but it's not finished yet.

Swansea are an excellent team with a great manager, so how I think that they will be looking a little further that Watford for players.

nick powell going to aston villa, much to good for a championship side. lambert is building for the future with a team of talented youngsters. they will probably need a new forward as well step forward max clayton.

How can you say he is too good for the championship? he jumped from league 2 to the prem and has not proved himself. I know he didn't get much of a chance, but he will probably go out on loan to the championship first.

Notts County manager Chris Kiwomya is set to do business in the summer after having a meeting with chairman Ray Trew and wants to add four players to his squad.
His first signing is set to be 29 year old defender Shaun Cooper. Cooper is interested a number of League 1 and League 2 sides after his release from Crawley but Kiwomya feels the former Bournemouth and Portsmouth player will add much needed defensive cover to his County side.
County have had French defender Yoann Zanoni training with the club the week before the season started. The Alfortville defender impressed and is a free agent also.
Kiwomya is wanting to sign a attack minded midfielder and a forward
The forward is the experienced Chris Iwelumo. Iwelumo is set to be come a free agent from Watford in the summer and has previous experience in League 1, most notably Colchester United in a superb goalscoring run. The 34 year old was on loan at Meadow Lane in November.
Kiwomya has been told he won't have money to spend but has a big wage budget and is expected to sign former Leyton Orient and QPR player Jimmy Smith. Smith was surprisingly released by Orient and is wanting to stay in League 1 and feels County is the place to go to.

It was no supprised smith was released if you ever saw him play. For 10 mins of the 90 he was wonderful, for the remaining 80 he would not touch the ball. Not committed enough on the pitch to be a league one player. He has ability but not the effort levels.

Unless the defenders are full backs then very unlikely true

Signing 2 full backs, first choice midfielder to replace Hughes, 2 strikers and 2 wingers t be first team player. The rest of the comings and goings will make up the squad.

Iwelumo played or should I say ATTENDED for a few matches and was not worth looking at. Very unlikely.

No way that Kiwomya will sign Iwelumo for a number of reasons:
#1) we had him last season and he was awful.
#2) Kiwomya is set on building a squad of young/hungry players with a few experienced players to accompany them, however they have to show desire which Iwelumo certainly did not
#3) He is already in negotiations with a few players who seem very interested in the club and his philiosopy.
Nice try though

Come on notts sign someone exciting in an advanced midfield role or striker soon before as normal they are slowly snapped up

Hed be awesome up front with pitman with grabban just behind but if we sign wells or austin then I wouldn't buy him.

Russell Slade is covering his options on Orient's left hand side now Lee Cook has turned down the contract on offer by bringing in Andy Welsh from Carlisle who he worked with at Yeovil.

Other players being considered are veteran Julian Gray who is currently playing in Cyprus and Arsenal youngster Sanchez Watt.

I hope Andy Welsh gets a chance with a decent club. Seems a nice bloke and didn't really get a fair crack of the whip at Carlisle.
Think he would be a good signing.

Personally I would go for experience in Andy Welsh on a free from carlisle ripped us apart at bp late in season

Will need to buy as still contracted for another year, bury need the cash unless the Neville deal gets done soon.

Can't see this happening as Bury want a six figure sum for him for compensation and can;t see LJ spending that much on a player that is not proven yet at league one level.

There will be other midfielders LJ will be looking at as well.

Signing Simon ferry doesn't show intent as he is a good league one player but that's about it. Unless your intent is just to stay in league one? Lol

Bristol city have to cut there budget massively and could be in trouble if they don't shift some of the big wages they have, they will need to let go half the playing squad before the new season starts, don't forget league 1 had a cap on the amount you can spend on players wage.

Ferry is going back to scotland his girlfriend and young baby are already there

Ferry always goes back home for the summer, he sees his family then normally goes away with the lads for a week before his family holiday with his new child. ferry is a top top guy and will be missed.

Can gillingham afford to pay ferry £3500 a week then? Because that's what he was on!!

I hope not!

Monk won't sign for another team now, you're only hope is a brief loan deal. He wants to retire with us and hopes for a coaching role which I believe is already on the cards.

Considering he is better than all other defenders in that league it is hard to see why you wouldn't want him.

Oxford manager Chris Wilder, told the Oxford mail on Thursday that he's signing 9 first team players this summer.
They will be a right back, centre back, two left back (one likely to be Luke O'Brien whose been at the club since November, the club are talking to him) 3 centre midfielders (two being left footers) a big target man and a quick goal poacher.
At least 2/3 of them will have a lot of experience and be 32/33 years old.
The club are expecting to hear back from forward Deane Smalley and centre midfielder Scott Davies, who were both offered new deals last week, before next weekend!

I think this is the worst rumour I've seen on this site. Maher is the hottest prospect in the Netherlands and will probably go to, at the very least, Ajax and most likely a team like Arsenal.

Derby are after James Vaughan but also on their list is Matty Fryatt. Alex Baptiste has spoken again to Derby and a decision on his future is iminent.

Derby will not be able to offer as much money in terms of a wage and signing on fee as other interested clubs in the championship. It all depends on how much Nigel Clough and his team can persuade him to come and buy into what they are doing at Derby. Apparently he is local and was brought up in Derby so that could play a part.

Foster was a North End player this was suggesting he would be going to Port Vale not the other way around.

1. I agree with the point that we won't have 1.3mil to spend but North End have stated they will not restrict themselves to the Bosman market, so don't be surprised if we pay for players.
