Although Rafa has not been given a specific budget, Hicks/ Gillett have told him to give them a list of the players the team needs, and money will not be an issue to get them. The Villa deal has already been agreed, plus expect Alves also for the right. Apparently Rafa has told John Arne Riise his days are numbered at Anfield after two years od inconsistent sub-standard displays.
To all those Liverpool fans who think Simao and Torres and Kaka are coming dream on. Rafa will try to bring in Dos Santos and Eto'o from Barca, Alves from Sevilla and Villa from Valencia plus a bunch of youngsters. Carson and Pongolle will return and fight it out like the others. Bellamy will not leave! He's in form and the only one's who could potentially leave are Crouch and Fowler (retiring) to fund the transfers of Villa and Eto'o. Rafa Benitez will not go waving the cheque book round stupidly. he has looked at Xavi of Barca and Defoe + a few others but expect those above to be his main targets. Kewell won't be leaving. if he manages to get fit and Palleta may be sold for around 3 million as he has struggled to cope. Aston Villa to sign Anton Ferdinand for £5 million in the summer as well as Steve Sidwell on a Free transfer. With Bardsley set to return to Manchester United - Mellberg will move back to right-back and Ferdinand will play centre-back or the other way round with both of these defenders capable of playing both positions.
Shaun Maloney will play more of a squad role - and is unlikely to be favoured to start matches.

Arsenal cannot compete as they don't have the funds due to their stadium, unless Henry leaves in an unlikely swap deal. First of all - the rumours that Craig Gordon is going to Celtic in the summer are laughable. Gordon himself has always said Hearts are the only SPL team he would play for, and once his time at Hearts is up he wants to try his hat in the Premiership. Expect him to join Arsenal in the summer, with the Tynecastle whispers stating that the deal is already done.
