Crisis talks at Cardiff today, no money to pay staff and players again and no one will lend them money with their record. Back to square one in a couple of weeks. Concerns that they will be back in administration again and won't get away with it this time. Expect a big firesale of players to steady the ship.

HA HA .what muppett wrote this , must be a sad jack.we have no problems now with money there are no problems concerning wages etc YOU ARE A JOKE MATE .you say back in trouble in a couple of weeks .well lets all watch and wait for NOTHING cos it aint happening .you fool !!

I wrote it and it's true. It's 100% mate, sorry. As you say, let's see in a couple of weeks. The players have not been paid and neither have the staff, and there is no prospect of payment either – no one will touch Cardiff for loans or investment and the 6m pumped in was exhausted by the 1.9m payment to get the winding up order removed. There is no more money. The club will be stripped of assets and the guys who invested the 6m will get double back. Sorry.

best part about it the malaysians don't want nay of our big hitters sold .the only one who could go is ledley and hes been offered an improved deal..which could work as his missus is pregnant so they may want to stay in cardiff ..and another offer has gone into man city for bellamy which is being considered.AND BEFORE YOU ALL SAY RUBBISH BELLAMY WANTS TO COME HOME COS OF FAMILY ISSUES SO THIS IS THE REASON IT COULD HAPPEN.chopra, bothroyd and whitts all staying.

Re:
My Source at celtic tells me that sol campbell will sign for celtic before the end of next. He also says that Gary Hooper is now talking to Celtic and Peter Lawell will try and get this deal done before the end of the world cup. Expect another former player to join the backroom staff possibly Lubo Moravcik. Celtic have stopped talking to Jimmy Bullard and he says he has offers from Premiership. Leaving celtic will be

Samaras = Lennon dosen't rate him
Naylor = won't sign new deal
McManus = likes it at Middlesbrough
ZZ = he going to reading
McGinn = Going on Loan to Sctorphe partof hooper deal

DavieBhoy you heard any of these rumors you know alot of celtic rumors

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Spot on mate with Sam and Naylor (he'll prob sign for a ccc team this week, he's had 3 offers) macca is spot on, if we get 2m+, zz prob will leave, Mcginn i've not heard anything about him leavin, but that doesn't mean it aint happenin, but IMO he'll play a big role for us next year, Hooper, there was Interest, but tbh I hope it aint true, think we could do better, and with regards to campbell again yer spot on expect that done pretty soon

However I did hear that there was someone high on the list, a big name that hasn't been mentioned yet, and that's why Lawell was away last week, but apparently they are keeping their cards close to their chest on that one, guess we'll just need to wait and see on that one

Nicky Bailey has signed for Middlesbrough for £1.5 m
source southern daily echo

Good ! I love it when clubs jump in early for players – leaves all the better ones available when they decide to come onto the market. Surprising signing by Boro. Anyway, on to more pressing matters, Bristol City have lodged their interest in a number of players including Nicky Shorey and Dave Kitson, players and club will wait until the time is right for any formal discussions but the agreement to talk is there when all parties are ready (they obviously have a number of options). Thats the way to do it.

To the person who wrote:

Leeds united rumour.
Hooper done deal 2.5m

Whats your source and is it genuine?

It will be announced in the next 2 weeks that's all i can say

Absolute rubbish. Total pish. If Gary Hooper leaves Scthorpe it will be for well under 2.5m – and even then Leeds couldn't afford it ! Lets get a sense of realism here folks – we are talking Gary Hooper, a one season wonder so far, and Leeds Utd who are skint and ste scared of over spending due to their last bout of "we are a big club" syndrome. Their supporters should focus on staying in the championship (I think Bates and Grayson are doing just that) just like any other league one club who gets promoted. Take yer eye off that and yer back where you came from.

He wants to go to Celtic but his wages demands couldn't be matched

Unsure about Brum but they could defo afford him

IMO I THINK he MIGHT just end up at Celtic again

Daviebhoy if ur a member of channel67 u should go on and watch the alan thompson interview he said he would be sitting down and talking 2 neil in the next couple of days so there is a possibility that janko could be signed 2morrow.
smithy

Daviebhoy has been the most reliable source on here. trust me janko will not sign tomorrow. Lennon only came back from portugal today and the first thing he will do is get together with mjalby and thomson to get an older figure for him. then the signings will start. campbell, lawerance and murphy will be announced first.

as for my team, rangers, orbetan has every chance of signing but st ettienne ( sorry bout the spelling) are also looking at him, conway is 85% there, welcome is exactly what we need and its 50–50 wheather we will sign him.

I aint gonna second you on anything, as the Ed already pointed out I was right about the Rangers takeover (biggest story in scotland so far close season) and I didn't just sayy Rangers won;t get taken over, I substaniated my claim, but only left out the source, as opposed to you saying "Janki will sign where was show offf daviebhoy on that one, " I aint gonna list the other indovidual things that I have said that have been true, i.e stafiing issues at clubs, players on talks etc.
But as for your claim about sky sports bbc gossip column, I think you'll find that I reguarly disagree with them,

So do your research, not just on football, but on who you're trying to slag

Bit of credit for telling ye beayoun won't be joining chelsea!!!

Kris Boyd APPROACHES Everton about the possibility of joining Moyes boys.

Heitinga agent is tryin to find a move to a top European Club or Man City, Everton won't budge for anything less than £15m so chances are he'll be at Goodison next year. Only person leaving Everton if any will be Yak as i said before not less than £8.5m.

18 Jun 2010 17:49:45
I don't know what all this talk about a single defender coming in is all about for arsenal. Arsenal need at least 2!! Koscielny is going to come in soon, Lorient are being dumb because they are going to make some 900% off him compared to the price that they got him for, but I guess that's how the transfer market is now. The second defender needs to be one that can step in and play if needed and also young so that he is one for the future. Vertonghen would be the guy that I am thinking of, and he looks like an 8 million pick up this summer. Next on the board is who to pick up for midfield. If Fab leaves and in order to leave barca has to cough up 50 mil no negotiating. They will not get him on the cheap. You think Arsene is strict with buying he is worse with selling unless its a good deal. So in that case I think that he will stay for another year. Regardless Arsenal are going to go after a few players..Ozil is one that Arsene wants this summer, but man city who likes to just buy players bc they want to show they have money is in the race so who knows now. He could have gotten him for around 12mil. Hazard is a target and he will come in for 10–12mil in the summer hopefully, but looks like it might be in January. There is also talk now that Riquelme has stated that he wants to play for arsenal. Now he is very creative which could be good for arsenal and he has played at the highest level. age is a little problem but he could mentor the youngsters. Also Juan mata has stated that he would like to join Arsenal which is good news, bc valencia are darn near selling their underwear to payoff their debts. Have to wait and see what happens with those two. Mata would have to cost between 15–20mil I think so we will wait and hopefully get lucky. The signing of sol campbell would be smart bc he still has alot of experience which will help grow the young defenders.Enyeama has been thrown around as a target for Arsene since he has impressed during the world cup, as good as he is im going to wait and see what happens on this one.and he would be cheap compared to others. Now for the selling part..Eduardo.gone! most likely 6–10mil somewhere in europe, probably either valencia in a swap deal plus cash for mata or to germany. Half the defense is out of contract so they are gone. Gallas prob to italy and senderos has already done to fulham. Rosicky will probably leave for around 6–10 mil as well. All I know is that Arsene needs to hurry up and do some work while he is at the world cup, because everyone is tired of waiting. Lets go Arsenal!

John Hughes has done it again he has pulled off four great signings

Both George Burley and Paul Ince are both smoke screens. Plymouth next manager comes from a shortlist of one.Peter Reid.

what rubbish burley and cotteril where the main targets but both wanted to manage in a higher division that's why they did not come and the the 3 where chosen were burley, ince and peter reid but now burley has gone to palace they are going to try to interview phil brown or paul jewell if they don't want to come then ince will be the new boss.

18 Jun 2010 17:44:45
During sky sports news' run down of the morning papers they were discussing the news that Pellegrini had apparently shown interest in the vacant Liverpool post, and also that Mascherano's agent had started talks with Inter over his future. The sky 'expert' stated "only half of this story is true, yes Mascherano will be leaving Liverpool this summer, mainly because he started sounding out a move last summer and who wants a player that does not have his head at the club and can bring in so much revenue. But the news about Pellegrini is false as Liverpool will be announcing Roy Hodgson as their manager before the pre season training starts!" Now I don't normally take much notice to press and so called experts unless it is released by the party involved, but surely to be so blatant and upfront would cause bigger problems (possibly even legal issues against himself) if he had no proof? I hope it's not true but can't help wondering now, would he just say the story was a lie and he knows better.. if he doesn't? (Can't remember the 'experts' name, rather large and was on the show with Ed Chamberlin)

For starters, are you always such a smart @rse (with no reason to be) How am I a show off? Because I hear about some transfers involving players up here? or because i cam pass "educated" opinions? please explain your point!

As for "MARC" Janko, hats off to you if you're right, I haven't heard anything, but hey if that's what you heard down the wig and pen, then fair play till ye!
However IN MY OPINION, I don't think it will happen, for starters He's just over a year in to a 4 year contract, which will cost a lot to buy out, especially for a guy who's got an average of better than a goal evry 2 games, also he tends to be injury prone, which IMO would prob deter Celtic, however if you say he's signing tomorrow, that's a good piece of info, and i'll be back on here tomorrow to congratulate you.

Club first.com

I told you to digest the news as you saw fit – unfortunately that you should actually be aware of the facts before you disparage anyone's posts. I never said Wachovia were DIRECTLY involved with LFC, but they ARE heavily invested in KOP HOLDINGS which you undoubtedly know was H & G's means of purchasing the club. The research is out there for anyone to view.

There's nothing like rumours to divide opinions and to cause controversy. With that in mind I will share a few snippets of fact, hearsay, conjecture and downright fabrication for you to digest and categorise as suits you best. Following a conversation with an ex–player who claims to have some insight it appears that the proposed take–over at LFC is no closer than it was last year. There are offers on the table but none are the required amounts to bail Hicks out of the financial mire that he is currently in. The good news is that RBS and Wachovia will not allow the owners to asset strip the banks investments meaning that Mascherano will be the only MAJOR departure. Torres will stay for 1 more season as will Stevie G. Kenny Dalglish in his new role as technical director is drawing up a hitlist of potential signings for the new manager (most likely Joachim Loew or Manuel Pellegrini) to decide on. A lot of the mentioned targets such as Kolarov, Milner, Van Der Vaart, Kjaer, Elia, Ozil, Aguero, Hamsik, Navas and Salcido will not be acquired simply due to a lack of funds. The world cup has happened at a bad time for the club, especially in the case of Elia whose value has now more than doubled due to his cameo appearance for Holland against Denmark. An alternative list has now been drafted and includes players such as Tom Huddlestone, Arda Turan, Alexis Sanchez, Ashley Young, Marcus Berg, Christian Eriksen, Ryan Shawcross and Connor Wickham (for Ngog and El Zhar). A new left back is a priority and contrary to popular belief it is not Stephen Warnock. The top target is Phillip Lahm (highly unlikely) with the second choice being Matt Taylor of Bolton. The emphasis will obviously be on budget buying with possibly one marquee signing. Rumours in Spain are suggesting that Mourinho is not a fan of Xabi Alonso and has offered him back to Liverpool as a make–weight in any potential deal for Gerrard. There is also no chance of Real signing Glenn Johnson as it was Mourinho who bombed him out of Chelsea and Johnson in turn did not have a good word to say about the Special One. James McCarthy is another target as is Emmanuel Adebayor who will be Torres' strike partner if the price does not exceed £15 million. Connor Wickham will provide further cover although it is more likely that he will remain at Ipswich for a season. LFC are also considering a swap involving FC Twente's Bryan Ruiz for Jordi Brouwer. As I have said it is up to each individual to decide how much they want to believe but there has been movements made behind the scenes.

SuperSub.

sorry fella but i doubt connor wickham will be joining liverpool, he and his family have been looking around white hart lane and spurs lodge, there are very good positive talks going on between the two clubs regarding a price and a player on loan, also with the intention to send connor back on loan for half a season! the boy is we believe very very excited at the prospect of joining spurs!!

18 Jun 2010 16:23:16
Comrades!

"18 Jun 2010 15:40:47 James McCarthy is another target"

Hmmmmm. Mixed thoughts on this. McCarthy was the target of major Liverpool interest a couple of years ago back in 2006 when he was 16 and already established a a first team regular at the 'Accies' up in Jockland. He basically stuck two fingers up because he wanted regular first team football which was not likely. That interest of ours continued through 2007 and 2008 but he was not interested unless he got first team football. He must be what – 19–20 now?

Personally I think he is a very gifted player – he's rugged, athletic, tackles well, quick, has stamina and can pass. He also now has Prem experience and is part of the Irelands senior squad. But you're back to the same argument – he'll want regular first team football as a pre–condition.

He's good and he knows he is and he won't accept subs bench. IF and it's a big if – a major rebuilding programme is about to be undertaken at Anfield AND he is taken in as a partner in Central midfield in a 4–4–1–1 or part of a trio behind Torres , then there might very well be legs in this but other than that the rule is – 'No first regular first team, no McCarthy'.

MOT – give it a rest with your daily bulletins on Leeds United! You post a new squad nearly every other day. Grayson won't bring in 7 other players. The budget was £2.5m (taking wages into consideration too) and anything else will be generated from player sales. His only target this season is to survive relegation so the club can build on a Championship foundation and look to move up the table in 2011/12. This will require investment from other sources and the CEO will need to step up his search in order for Leeds to progress.

Also, no loan deal will be authorised for Sanchez Watt until pre season training is underway. QPR have shown interest in taking him too and Wenger would prefer to keep him in London so he can continue to train at Colney a couple of days a week. The short term agreement with Leeds expired in May.

Big Liverpool and Real Madrid news!
Gerrard will leave but on a season long loan as he is desperate to add silverware but will not abandon Liverpool also there is almost no chance of Liverpool meeting Madrid in European competition this year which gerrard is keen to avoid
Liverpool have attempted to make a move for xabi alonso and he will sign a precontract agreement for next season with him and gerrard allowing themselves one season for European and league glory before returning to save the club they both love
mourinho too is an admirer of liverpool and sees them as an invalable part of European football and will do what he can for them this year (perhaps with one eye on a job in the future) and will loan us lass diarra and van der vaart to tide us over until the return of our heroes
this has been run by dalglish as an audition for the job but the owners are using him as a pawn to make the club more appetising to pellegrini, treating a club legend like this is a truly shocking development as it becomes more and more apparent that they have no emotional attachement to the club
so a mixed bag of news for Liverpool I personally think that will be enough to maintain us as a force and keep up in the hunt for fourth this year

Liverpool news– Javier Masherano is moving to Barcelona for £28million not Inter Milan like is has been widely speculated, Yossi Benayoun is moving to Chelsea in a deal worth £6.5million and Albert Riera is on his way to Bordeuax for £5.5million, Manuel Pellegrini has taken over at Anfield and has been promised a budget of £12million plus all cash raised from sales which brings his cash up to £52million plus whoever else he wants rid of, Diego Cavalieri and Philipe Degen look the most likely to follow at the minute, Athletico Mineiro have confirmed that Liverpool have made contact over Diego Tardelli, Lassana Diarra has been touted as a possible replacement for Javier Mascherano and finally Milan Jovanovic has confirmed he will honour his pre contract agreement with Liverpool despite Rafael Benitez's departure, things arent all bad on merseyside they could be looking up as long as Liverpool can hold on to their main men Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.

Swindon fan here:

If Charlie's going anywhere, it'll be to Forest.

I know this because Stuart Pearce, who lives in Wiltshire, is a big fan of Charlie and praised him highly after he played for England U21s.

Pearce set up a meeting with David Pleat and Billy Davies in order to discuss a move for Charlie. Swindon, obviously, don't want to lose him but if they have to they want a decent price.

Forest will pay £2m and will recoup that by selling Earnshaw to Cardiff, Tyson back to Reading and loaning Garner to Swindon.

Charlie's already been to The City Ground and the deal is highly likely to go ahead soon.

Why do you think Forest said yes to a friendly at The County Ground? It's part of the deal to take Charlie to Nottingham!

The centre back signing sounds like Laurent Koscielny, as reports indicated Arsenal have made a bid & the player wants to move to Arsenal. He isn't at the world cup, which makes the negotiations much simpler.
Now either sign Campbell for further season or acquire another centre–back, as it sounds like Gallas is off & a keeper, please Mr Wenger.

Leeds have got money to spend , grayson and bates as already said so in interviews with evening post and on the lutv screening , bates is very tight, it won't be alot but he as given grayson enough , grayson dosnt really spend much anyway , he likes to targets free's and loans and it works. bates is wanting to sell us as soon as we get to prem ( whenever that will be ) so why would he risk giving no money to SG to spend on our squad.

money will be spent on beckfords replacemet, and some of a couple players, we won't be signing 3–4 players who cost bout 1 million each so stop talking crap .

grayson will fetch in quality players eg kasper , connolly etc weather there free's loans or money fee's

SIGMA'S TOMAS KALAS TO JOIN CHELSEA?
Young Sigma Olomouc defender Tomas Kalas is reportedly set to become a Chelsea player, but should remain with Olomouc for the coming season.

Neither the 17–year–old, his agent nor Sigma officials would confirm a deal has been done but there's speculation that the English champions have beaten Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen in a race to sign him.

With some brilliant displays at the WC already, Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is being looked at by a number of big clubs. The Hapoel Tel–Aviv player is wanted by Juventus, who see him as the perfect replacement for Gigi Buffon, who looks likely to miss the first few months of the year if surgery on his spine is required.

However other clubs are also interested, and Enyeama will prefer to move to a club with more african players (just sissoko), and apparently there are also some whispers here that Arsenal are interested, and in theory this could be a perfect transfer for both club and player.

This is also raising awareness in Europe that there are a few quality players within the Israeli league, most notably the african players who have been produced over the years, such as Yakubu, Derek Boateng and now Enyeama. The latter's Tel–Aviv team mate, Samuel Yeboah, is another player who is being looked at by clubs in Europe, but no club has formally express interest yet.

Watch this space!

Wenger has confirmed that a CB will be signed during the World cup. ideas on who?

Yes! Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen, 25, right footed, plenty of experience and good with his head. Just what we need to contrast with Vermaelen. He's in his final year of his contract so either Bremen sell him for the £8–10m Arsenal are prepared to pay OR he comes in like Chamakh on a free next summer. He can negotiate terms from Jan 2012. Jan Vertonghen is also being looked at, but it would be for the CDM position more than the CB slot. He is left footed like Vermaelen, but his ability to cover 2 positions could sway favour.

More Germans in too for the GK position – either Rene Adler (Leverkusen) or Manuel Neuer (Schalke) will be signed after the WC. Should Wenger manage to agree a deal with Barca for Fabregas (around £60m) then Mesut Ozil would be first choice to replace him. Reports of Arsenal accepting a £40m deal for Fabregas are complete rubbish. Barca claim they will make one final offer – if they are true to their word then they will fail to land the player as it will not be £60m that is for sure.

I can now unveil that Liverpool had an official meeting in London, with Pellegrini. Kenny met him at Heathrow yesterday, and meeting went on for 3 hours. Hicks is over today for an official board meeting In London as well.
The owners are trying to push the sale of the club through before more supporters unrest on the 4th July. Expect to see an announcement before the end of June that formal discussions are underweigh

Liverpool aren't looking at players until a new Manager is brought in.

To the guy who said the latter about players, Pellegrini is a manager, He is Jose Mourinhio's predecessor

Marcelo to real Madrid, lol if I'm right last time I watched real he was a Madrid player already. And to the Watford (plank) fan: no enquiry has been made for troy I know the lad well and he told me what he has told local midlands papers, he has no agent. His dad does the paperwork for him as he is his own agent, as lower league fans know this is happening alot more, troy stated that he wants to be the first player to bag 20 goals next season since jorge leitao in 2000 and is look forward to playing with dazza (byfield) for a full season.

Anyone else notice that the supposed quotes in the media from Marco Piccioli about Mascherano in talks with Inter and Pelligrini in talks with LFC are the same?

"We are evaluating the move and will soon have a new meeting to better establish the details of this deal, " Marco Piccioli told The Sn. (Pelligrini)

"We are evaluating the move hard and in the next few days we will have a new meeting to better establish the details of this transfer deal." (Masch)

Is this?..
a) Lazy journalism
b) One of the stories is bogus (prob Pelligrini)
c) This agent only knows one phrase

Roy Hodgson will NOT be Liverpool manager next season. He wanted a deal to be sorted before he left for South Africa. He wanted to be the manager but did not want to be messed around by Liverpool. Liverpool have since approached Manuel Pellegrini. He is out of contract and a high profile name, with a high reputation for his spells in charge of Villarreal and Real Madrid (As a fan, I would be happy with this appointment) Kenny Dalglish will become Director of Football, having a major influence in the club without the daily pressures of management. Javier Mascherano is on his way out of the club – with Inter readying a £22m bid. Seeing as he was brought for £18.6m, Liverpool are looking for a much bigger profit a bid closer to £30m will be successful.

Big Liverpool news..Sale of Mash has been agreed. Reported 26million with another 4 million in add ons and bonuses. Heres the shocker..Kenny has persuaded the Liverpool board into plunging the Masch funds into bringing non other that Xabi Alonso back to Anfield. And the word is that Xabi would be open to the move. With Kaka, the re–emergence of Vander Vaart, Diara plus all the other CMs liked with a move to Madrid..Alonso has apparently become unsettled and would love to come back to Liverpool. He loves the fans and the fans love him..the only reason he left was Benitez and hes gone. Mourinho is not a big fan of Xabi from his Chelsea days and would be willing to listen to offers. A bid is being prepard and a formal approach should be made in the coming week. The story will be leaked to the press to gain fan support for the move so watch this space.

Comrades!!

""CONFUSED {editor's note – as I hear it, he was forced out and had failed in his contractual obligations (to provide Champions League qualification). The only reason he got so much money was to keep his mouth shut about what has been going on while he was in charge. Basically it was a case of 'we are going to get rid of you anyway but we don't want you to tell anyone what kind of state the club is in or cause any hassles or we won't be able to sell it. How much money do you want to keep your gob shut?'}""

Yep. He has got a 'Brucie Bonus' of a few more million which he will be given in 3 years time on the proviso he says absolutely nothing. The worry is, they could have sacked hoim for Breach of Contract for absolutely nothing. Instead They pay him 6M with a further 3M (not sure if it's 3M but that's what I heard) in 3 years time for his silence – £9M. That suggests to me that there are some absolutely dreadful skeletons in the cupboard that Dumb & Dumber don't want in the public domain.

I spoke to a friend / business colleague yesterday who is involved in with Liverpool on a consultancy basis in a non playing capacity. I could, but don't want to say anymore as I wouldn't want to jeopardise any future business deals he may have on the cards.

Apparently according to him; and don't take this as gospel people Roy Hodgson is the front runner to fill the vacant managerial position at the present time. There has been interest from the middle east, but as everyone else explains on here H(PR)icks valuation of the club is over inflated and so a deal has not yet been completed on the sale.

The other snippet he mentioned is that King Kenny would like the job; He didn't mention as to whether this was on a permanent or temporary basis but the Board are resistant to this. My opinion is he needs to be careful what he wishes for. If he did take over with limited money to wheel and deal in the transfer market he might severely tarnish his God like status.

Anyway, make with that what you will. I don't claim to have any real close links to the clubs and this was literally a 2 minute conversation on the back of another business call. If Hodgson does get the job, will the last person to leave Anfield please turn off the lights.

Wow, actual confrimation that something is happening at Liverpool! Ed or anyone else does this then make Pelegrini the fav since he is the only one who appears to have been approached? According to his agent they're having a second meeting so he must be interested. I think he would be good, reina loves him, I think Torres and Gerrard would respect and him and if a bag of money came from somewhere players would come to him. I think I see a glimmer hope!

Source: Goal.com
"Former Villarreal and Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini is in discussions with Liverpool, his representative has confirmed.

The Chilean boss has been out of work since being sacked by Madrid at the end of last season after failing to guide them to the title in La Liga or reach the latter stages of the Champions League.

Reports in England on Thursday stated that Pellegrini was a serious candidate to take over from Rafael Benitez at Liverpool, and his agent has now revealed that there is indeed more to it than just paper talk.

"We are evaluating the move and will soon have a new meeting to better establish the details of this deal, " Marco Piccioli told The Sun.

Kenny Dalglish, who is working with the Reds' academy, and Fulham boss Roy Hodgson are the other two serious candidates to assume the reins at Anfield.

But the emergence of Pellegrini as a candidate is an intereresting development. The popular feeling was that the Reds would opt for a British manager after the Gerard Houllier and Benitez tenures, and both Hodgson and Dalglish appeared to be front–runners.

Pellegrini earned much kudos for his stewardship of Villarreal, and some sympathy for the way his spell at the Bernabeu was ended."

A True Liverpool Fan {editor's note – I don't know if it means anything as far as a takeover is concerned. He is out of contract after all, it is an appointment that would be well received by potential buyers and the current squad. It could be just a way of making the club more attractive to buyers, which Hodgson wouldn't do.}

18 Jun 2010 11:18:47
From the Kop Magazines Twitter account…

"LFC will be sold in 6–8 weeks and there is a shortlist of 6 managers with an appointment hoped for in the next 14 days"

Kop magazine should have a good idea being a massive publication connected with the club……….Would make sense if owners were that close they would have a say in who comes in (may also have been involved in sacking Rafa)

Believe me I read this site in hope that someone has something nearly believable. Nobody knows what is going on at Liverpool right now but is this is the first positive sign or is this another flippin windup.

CARDIFF City have rejected a £1.7m bid from Championship rivals Burnley for goal ace Peter Whittingham.

Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last month and are armed with parachute payment cash, tabled the bid earlier this week.

But the Bluebirds' valuation of last season's joint Championship top scorer is much higher than that and they flatly turned down the Burnley offer.

A little note for the clever boys that left the following messages:

'Liverpool have closed in on Roy Hodgson and expect to announce him as their new manager next week. Read it on the official Liverpool site.

It also says we've approached Pellegrini. Basically no one kows whats going on!! Can't wait for the WC to fininsh so that the mess at LFC can be sorted out'

Both of you did read that on the website– in the section entitled 'Media Watch'. A section that posts SPECULATIVE stories relating to LFC in the media. There's even a disclaimer to this effect.
For example, there is an article dated June 17th, where Juan Mata has apparantly stated his admiration of LFC. Can't see that move happening unfortunately, unless we get that fabled Chinese/Arabic/Indian sugar daddy.
I suggest you kids lay off the sauce, open your eyes a bit wider, and concentrate on your school exams.
Also, what is a 'kows'?

RE DAILY MAIL ARTICLE 5th December 2007: Fabio Capello has been 'tapped up' twice by Liverpool as Rafael Benitez battles to stay in control at Anfield.
Capello claims he was contacted before last week's Champions League clash with Porto.

.CONSPIRACY THEORY.

Capello wins the WC with England mission accomplished (new contract irrelevant – move on).

Capello under–achieves at WC (semi's at least) 2012 European Championships become irrelevant – move on.

At club level Capello would remain a major managerial coup for any team, let alone a side in Liverpool's predicament.

H & G looking for the all important $$$ signs, realise that Capello would add value to the 'selling price' of the club, irrespective of the eventual England outcomes.

While I would fully endorse a KD return. Knowing H & G the fact that Rafa has since his departure publicly endorsed KD's return as the next manager of LFC, this sadly may well turn out to be the death nail in the coffin for that scenario.

If H & G really wanted to keep the club, then Roy Hodgson would be the ideal candidate in that he would bring about some kind of stability in that the off–field rows would cease.

The truth is H & G want out, and the long term cost of bringing in the next manager will not be theirs to burden. So why not start at the top and work yourself down?

CAPELLO

MOURINHO: Rafa only quit after Jose commited to RM and was therefore not going to be his replacement. Don't bank on this man surprising everyone and renaging of the RM job for the one he really wants!

don't be silly mate, Mourinho didn't want to go to Liverpool, he wanted to go to Madrid, I'm sure he would've waited otherwise. Plus Mourinho wanted to go to Spain and win the league, as he's won the leagues in England and Italy, and then he can say he's won all 3 of the best leagues in Europe. Once he's won the league in Spain then I'd put good money on him going to United!! You know it makes sense!

"18 Jun 2010 08:58:34

Have you now? That'll be the media watch summary of today's daily mail piece that they have regurgitated. Sadly, the rumours that the Liverpool website people choose to put on the website don't have any bearing on what actually happens. Above the Hodgson story is the pellegrini story, so which one is it eh?

Hodgson's comments on TV last night weren't particularly meaningful re: the LFC post and were sensibly non–committal, but he didn't give the impression of a man about to take up the reins. Still, maybe he's just good at poker :–)

Not sure if anyone cares about Sevilla here but here's some news:

"Tiberio Guarente has signed a five–year deal at Sevilla, the Primera Division club has confirmed.

Guarente has spent the past three seasons at Atalanta, where he has made 92 appearances in Serie A, but could not help the team avoid relegation last season.

The Italian midfielder started with the Atalanta youth team but began his professional career at Verona before returning to Bergamo in 2007.

He signed a new five–year deal just last northern summer but relegation has seen him leave the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

The 24–year–old becomes Sevilla's second northern summer signing following the arrival of defender Mouhamadou Dabo."

Right i don't see the point in everyone arguing over who's signing who, i mean it is a rumours website so let people make up rubbish if they want, its just up to you weather to believe it or not, no need to have a go over it.

Now if im honest, i don't think leeds will spend over 1.5 mill on all their players never mind just 1, i think we will spend 500k max on 1 player, and that would be a new striker, god knows who we will get but i hope they can do a decent job !! Also, i think we could do with 1 new defender and a couple new midfielders, and that will do for me. But i must say, i feel safe knowing grayson is in charge, im always anxious to know who we will get, but i just know, who ever we get, will be good enough because i trust grayson in the transfer market. if i have to wait to find out, so be it. the way leeds do their business is the best way, keep it all quiet till its done. then let people know !
And no matter what people say, yes bates is tight, but in my eyes, that's a good thing. Bates is the best thing to happen to this club in years, he even chose the best manager we have had in years. so lets move on together and get up this table together.

Torres and Gerrard are still undecided, and I doubt anything will happen until after the World Cup. I wouldn't mind Bojan at Liverpool, but Zlatan just wouldn't suit the Prem in my opinion.}

The club doesn't actually earn more than a Champions League winner. The figures that they refer to is actually the total TV money etc for one year in the EPL and then the 3(?) years of parachute payments that follow when a club is relegated. That is what they mean when they say the game is worth £90million to Blackpool.}

For Celtic They Wont Get Keane Or Bellamy Unless They Sell Mcgeady And Raise More Funds They Will Get Mulgrew A Slight Chance Of Sol But Personnaly I Doubt It Ithink Theyl Sign Ramis Instead Ledley Wont Go To Either Of The OF He Will Want To Test Himself In The Premiership So I Think He Will Join Stoke But I Think They Will Get Lawerence Maybe Mcdonald Back But Im Not Sure If It Will Happen Mcmanus To Stay At Middelsborough And Celtic Will Sell Loovens , Fortune , And O'Dea Will Be Loaned Out And Mccourt Will Join Blackpool , Again Ive Heard It Alot But We Will Just Have To See .
Oh And Any1 Heard About Kamara Pretty Quiet

Furthur to what I said a little earlier, I would like to address this to my fellow Leeds United fans.

We are not going to spend anywhere near £5 million this summer. It is not Ken Bates' style, surely we all know that by now? Also please stop all this talk about Gary Hooper. There is no way Bates would spend anywhere near the amounts being qouted on one player. I am not claiming to be "in the know", but I am sure that Beckford's replacement will be a young striker on loan from a Premiership club. So once again PLEASE stop this Hooper nonsense! Thank you & goodnight.

RE DAILY MAIL ARTICLE 5th December 2007: Fabio Capello has been 'tapped up' twice by Liverpool as Rafael Benitez battles to stay in control at Anfield.
Capello claims he was contacted before last week's Champions League clash with Porto..

.CONSPIRACY THEORY..

1 mill for thomson really to much buckfast for you tonight i think.
gers mince.just no
conway mince.(see above)bags of potential and a wide man in our price range
on the obertan thing posted by myself and others today.that deal was implace in jan but the bank veotoed it hopefully now with purse strings loosened and with a bit of help from SAF WE MIGHT GET HIM ON LOAN.
i think all we need are a couple of widemen and a striker as long as we keep boogie and i don't think we will be to far away this season.that lets us get davo into cm were he belongs.also from what i hear the boy wylde is the one to watch coming through this year there is a worry bout an injury ness has he was due to break through last year but kept breaking down hence the reason he was not even on the bench last year much.

Sheffield wednesday: firstly the fool who is posting re wednesday targets is talking out of his backside, they have NO MONEY for transfer fees NONE. Please don't embarass yourself further.
Irvine (not Pardew) has feelers out at PNE for Parkin as Mellor is out of reach, Parkin is open to the move apparently but waiting to see if he can get a championship club.
AI wants to sell Tudgay but absolutely no one biting at £1m. Burnley prepared to play waiting game to get best deal (got this from inside BFC)

i doubt that parkin wants to go wednesday because hes the first choice striker at the moment and the only chance of him leaving is if we get a better striker and their is more chance of wednesday gting mellor instead of parkin

Wish my fellow rangers fans would stop telling peaople they are in the know. think wtp and daviebhoy r the only two who have said anything decent bout rangers. and celtic huffy ppl talk bout ur own club as we do have 5mil to spend. boughy n wilson will leave that is it. mcgregor is staying put along with future captain thomo. and whoever said thomo was worth 1.5mill then brown must be worth 250K. anyway ppl that MIGHT come to rangers are georgie welcome, a Lens striker, Lee Miller, Goodwillie but i doubt it, conway, kennith, concalves, ledley but he prefers roma over both the old firm, orbetan but don't think so. i have been informed that there wil be a total of 5 players brought in but some will be bosmans. expect ness and bendiksen and fleck to play bigger parts.
Bennybear.

also the reason this is my first post in a few days was i was well annoyed at both sides of the old firm and there poor language. and to all epl team fans rangers and celtic will be there sooner than u think. sky owns you

Ian Holloway and Steve Thompson are set to walk out on the Bloomfield Road club as chairman Karl Oysten will only offer 12 month rolling contracts on slightly improved deals.

It is believed Holloway has travelled down to Bristol to spend time with his family before making his decision early next week.

Holloway has also been informed funds will not be available for new signings.
