Liverpool are looking to re-sign Fernando Torres from Chelsea this January for £15m. Chelsea are looking to offload Torres this January in order to make room for £46m rated Radamel Falcoa.

Torres will go back to Madrid as part of the Falcao deal

Not a chance! There's a third party ownership on Falcao and the syndicate will want hard cash, not a washed up has been in return!

Chelsea will not take a £35 mill loss on the striker. And lfc would need to sell a few players first. FSG says there'll be funds available for a marquee signing. But tbh the money that was wasted the past 2 seasons will make them think hard about throwing a lot of money at 1 player

Gaston Ramirez could become available next summer for a similar fee that Southampton payed Bologna. Ramirez was signed for £11.8m and will be available for just £12.5m should the Saints get relegated due to a clause in his contract. West Ham lost Demba Ba after a clause in his contract allowed the forward to leave the club after the Hammers got relegated Ba has since gone on to become one of the best forwards in the Premiership.

What a ..... posting,we won't get relegated. This is just the sort of useless guff we don't want, onwards and upwards with Saints.

Totally agree, let's wait and see what happens, let's not even think about the negatives.

Yeah yeah... Pile it on.

19 Nov 2012 19:52:52
it should say when not if they get relegated i bet hes already planning his escape

How can you say you wont get relegated, not very good are you, qpr the only team worse than you ,i think soton will join qpr and norwich going down

Norwich? They aren't even too close to the relegation zone having beaten Manchester United. Proves how much you know.

Usually relegation clauses involve the player being released for nothing and not the club being fully reimbursed of money spent

So I think this nonsense and if the Saints do go down no one is going to pay half of what Southampton spent on Ramirez

Wow... we should/could have beaten utd and city easily, only results that have been disappointing are wigan and west ham! saints will be absolutely fine, did you see us on 'game of the day'? Absolute class, as for ramirez, if he is feeling anything like the team around him, he will not want to leave. We have the best morale in the prem. Up the saints! The people that thinks saints will go down are the ones who watch the 'highlights' not the actual games! Bring on Newcastle!

Hear hear mate,well said.

"usually relegation clauses involve the player being released for nothing"
This has never, ever happened!! Only if they are out of contract obviously!

I agree fully lets see how the next few games go
i believe we will be stronger each game

James Wilson of to Coventry in January from Bristol city

James Wilson and Lewin Nyatanga are not quite good enough and are now of an age where it doesnt look like that will improve much.

Sell them.

Expect they will both be very pleased to leave will probably be in lg 1 next year either way

18 Nov 2012 20:53:04
Rotherham to sign Damien Reeves from Altrincham in January got around 50k. Alex Denton going the other way on a season long loan as part of the deal

18 Nov 2012 20:51:18
Deal is already in place to take Jonny Mullins to Oxford from Rotherham in January on a permanent basis. Fee agreed is in the region of £30k

Hope so. He has done great for us but I dont think we have funds and would he want to come to a team that is really struggling. But he would be very popular signing by most fans

If this is true it will be more than £30k
anyway he's now back with the Millers! so this one is definitely not true!

18 Nov 2012 20:49:48
Steve Evans is set to try an ambition treble raid of Peterborough united to sign Gabriel Zakuani, Lee Frecklington and Emile Sinclair. The trio would cost around £1.2 million but Ben Pringle may go the other way as part of the deal. You heard it here first

No zakuani will stay at posh doesnt want to leave, sinclair and frecklington are a posiblity but we dont want pringle he would be in our reserves

As Zakuani is now off the TL, I doubt it. Crawley can have Sinclair and Frecklington with pleasure.

Crawley? Evans is at Rotherham - do keep up!

Lee Frecklington will most likely stay at Rotherham due to his recent form. Sinclair has joined Barnsley on loan till the 19th January. Gabriel Zakuani is off the transfer list and he does not want to leave Posh anyway.

18 Nov 2012 20:43:54
Craig Morgan is set to snub a new contract at Rotherham by signing for Coventry City in January

New 18 month deal just signed with Rotherham. Up the millers!!

18 Nov 2012 20:14:27
Bristol City are going to release Joe Edwards in January allowing him to move to Yeovil before the end of the season

J Wilson M Wilson Pittman Nyatanger also going in January

What to Yeovil ?
Bristol City are now Yeovil's feeder club!!

Sorry Glovers, wishful thinking. Joe is at Yeovil for experience. Edwards and Bryan will be the full backs in BS3 for years. Not a hope in hell of either being released!

To be honest Bristol City are Yeovil's feeder team but surely that is a good thing for the City players so they can get experience and help out a local club

I would rather they were at Yoevil with Gary J, than out at Swindon, Cheltenham, or dare I say The Gas.

I think Yoevil is exactly where our youngsters should be going to get some first team league football under their belts.

However, people like Nytanga and James Wilson are not youngsters that need experience, they are full blown pro's who dont quite cut it, they wont benifit from a month down south. Ship them out.

Brighton in January or Kenwyne Jones

18 Nov 2012 17:18:41
Carl Fletcher to be sacked if Plymouth Argyle lose to Bradford on Tuesday

I feel sorry for fletch as he did miracles keeping Argyle in the league last year with very low resources....but we should be moving in an upward direction and i think fletch cant get much more out this squad....time for an experainced man to take the helm and maybe keep fletch in as assistant to develop. Megson or Cottrell would be good choice.

I agree that fletch cant do much more. I respect the guy and appreciate his efforts but its a results business and if we as a club are aiming for a return to championship we need an experienced manager. Megson, no way! Cotterill, i like. He could do a job but i think regardless of the manager who comes in, JB needs to back him financially. We hear all this talk about we have one of the biggest budgets and revenue streams but how much has fletcher spent? Who has he bought? Rubbish. We are relying on conference level players on loan to get us promoted.

We need a change, we need a bit of cash and a manger with CONTACTS!

Jay

Cotterill is that man! he knows the lower league set up and how to work on a budget. He would be my choice and he`s a westcountry fella... ForzaGreenArmy

No win in 7 games now. Has to go by the end of the month for sure or maybe by the end of the week

Bring peter Reid back, with the club out of administration and funds apparently available let him have a second bite of the cherry and get his reputation back, he deserves it the most!

Yes , bring Peter Reid back , he deserves a 2nd chance without a shadow of a doubt.

Mike reid would do a better job,,lol

Reid! reputation! whats he done! took clubs down where ever he,s gone.. cant motivate players,,no tactical brain,,torquay and exeter are better run clubs.

bristol city are set to sign jack hobbs
from hull in january there also set to
sign george boyd from peterbough utd

Boyd going to leeds

Hobbs is going nowhere! You've more chance of signing the Magna Carta!

Why would we sell a class defender when we are not short of money... we will strengthen in january not sell to rivals..... up the Tigers

Hope we keep danns out of the 2. quality player.

18 Nov 2012 16:45:40
charlie austen also going 2 west ham

18 Nov 2012 16:44:03
west ham ins in jan - anelka, brayford from derby 3 mill and frimpong

You might get Anelka but Frimpong dosent want to leave and Brayford i assume would cost more than that

Think we'd snap your hand off if you offered 3 mill. That's enough for Cloughie to buy a whole new team haha.

Frimpong i cant see happening but Brayford is a very good right back and i hate to admit it but 3 million would be accepted by Derby County.

18 Nov 2012 15:58:33

If ipswich don't stay up this season then marcus evens is going to get rid of his stake at ipswich town as he is losing patience. A very good source within his group

Iwouldnt blame him getting rid of his stake at Ipswich all the money wasted on the two previous managers . Anyway who would want ateam going down to the First div and probably going to concede over 100 goals . Yes i am an ipswich supporter have been for 30 years gotta be the WORST team ever

Rubbish how is he losing he earns interest the more in debt we get!

You have to laugh at how things have turned out, 3 seasons ago chirping at the Canaries dropping down to lg1 bouncing back and knock the living daylites out of you now they are up in the Prem for the second season and looks like they will stay up and you are almost hand on favourites to go down, So the chirping has stopped now Macarthy will look after you

It aint over till the fat lady sings, watch MM pull the tractor boys out of trouble, there's more certainty that the budgies will drop into the championship that Town going down FACT COYB

Mick mccartney may be up for the challenge to keep town in the championchip but are the players sorry i mean loanees

Hello all. Forest fan here again. Do any of you remember me at the beginning of the season telling you all how poor Luke Chambers is ? Im not here to gloat because I think Ipswich are a fantastic club but until you dump him, expect to be conceding 4, 5 and 6 goals on a regular basis.

Hi forest man.Yes I do believe you could well be correct.Give it to January then we will see.Oh,by the way see you next Tuesday night.!

I have been a town fan for over 30 years and for once I have no faith in the team. The players just dont feel like town players and I really fear for relegation. I never thought it would happen in my lifetime. I just hope we can stay up this season and that Mick McCarthy can have the time in pre season to get us back on track.

Don't worry mate Big Mick will sort it,we just have to be patient.

Get in ! Best so far.

Robbie Keane set to move on loan to norwich when the MLS season has finished

Source : Daily Mirror

Going to Villa, not Norwich

Thank god I dont want this guy in norwichs team we dont need him

Well done aston villa on the forcoming signing of keene, Im glad norwich not been so lucky

Nothing wrong with keane he works very hard for the team and always got a eye for goal would like to see him in yellow

Good player id have him playing for the yellows

More likely Keane is a QPR signing now Rednap is there.

18 Nov 2012 13:25:11
Cardiff to add a striker and fullback in January.

18 Nov 2012 12:18:12
portsmouth to sign Brazilian defender Welton Felipe, 26 years old

Looks a bit tasty for League One, but good replacement for Dicko

Who was the last Brazilian to play for Pompey and who the hell is he I thought we had the maximum amount of players we could have? No?

He is on loan at a Brazillian team...

Dickinson has gone to allow Rocha to join, in another few days both Anderssen and Scott Allen will also return to their clubs so there are gaps to fill but whether this Brazillian guy is an option have no idea.

Last Brazillian to play for Pompey was Denilson

Am i being stupid but who is denilson if your thinking of the former arsenal player then that wasnt him that was armand traore

You maybe, we had the original Denilson Brazilian international Redknapp gave him a trial in 2006. Denilson was once the world's most expensive player
Portsmouth are giving former Brazilian World Cup winger Denilson a trial.
The 29-year-old was a free agent after leaving Bordeaux during the summer. But Pompey boss Harry Redknapp, "We're taking a look at him."
Denilson became the world's most expensive player when Real Betis paid Sao Paulo £22m for him in 1998. He has made 61 appearances for Brazil and won a winner's medal at the 2002 World Cup, when he made three substitute appearances in Brazil's group games, and got on to the field for the last minute of the final against Germany. He was also part of Brazil's squad in the 1998 World Cup in France.

Is he good and speedy

Check him out on you tube

Celtic are set to battle it out with Chelsea and West Ham for the signature of £3m rated fullback John Stones of Barnsley.

3 million will buy his right leg

Who supposed to have put that valuation on him? If he goes for that price were selling players for peanuts again!!!

Stones will go as all our good players do but I would see another season with Barnsley after this. Butterfield left , not played , Hamill left , hardly played , vaz t is played but hill was only one willing to give him a go

18 Nov 2012 11:42:24
Jimmy Walker as left Walsall to become Goalkeeking coach at Spurs. His wages will be freed up to sign Wolves Goalie Aaron McCleary

18 Nov 2012 11:22:35
Liverpool will try to sign huntelaar ba and Walcott in January as they are all available on cut-price deals

None are available on cut price deals ,contract talks still going on for each one, only way walcott will join liverpool is if sterling is included in deal, even then liverpool couldn't afford his proposed wage

I thought walcott was on around 80k per week liverpool have players on over 100k per week

Gerrard is on £140,000 per week, Suarez £120,000 Joe Cole £90k :S That shows we could afford Walcott, especially if Cole & downing go in Jan.

Liverpool and cut price deals don't go hand in hand do they?

Walcott is a liverpool fan so! so hopefully come to us

18 Nov 2012 10:58:09
Rumoured that Anderson De Silva coming back to
Barnsley on trial

What a player de silva was, just needs to get his head right, in hill we trust

I wondered what had happened to Anderson da rondo silva

Good, hes better than we have had since he left and than includes Butterfield

Norwich , west brom and Wigan have expressed an interest to Celtic re:Gary Hooper ...Hooper has turned down 3 deals on the table and is holding out for a contract which puts him in line with Ledley , Brown and Samaras

Source - Hooper family member

Norwich and Wigan are rank rotten relegation fodder - west brom might interest him but think he'll get what he wants at Celtic and stay for a couple more seasons. Steveomac

Norwich rank rotten relegation fodder? Granted we had a few early season problems but we are now 2nd in the form table, have won our last 3 home games in the league without conceeding, including Man Utd and Arsenal, are up to 13th, in League cup quarters after beating a strong Spurs side with our reserves. Relegation fodder my turnip!

If they qualify for the knockout stages of the CL I can't see this move happening

At the end of the day a player like Hooper who has ambitions of playing for England will eventually realize that he needs to be testing himself against top competition week in, week out in the Premier League. Say all you want about Celtic being in the Champions league (they are there pretty much by default due to the poor quality of the SPL these days), but eventually he will move.

Norwich are a fast improving club, on and off the pitch. They have improved massively at the back and now need that cutting edge up front to complement the rest of the team and could easily finish top 10. It would be a great place for Hooper to show off his talent to the England hierarchy. Off the pitch they will be debt free in 7 months time and with the new PL TV deal will be in a much stronger financial position than Celtic, even with their CL money.

West Brom, similarly to Norwich are looking strong throughout their team. Playing good football, however it looks like they currently have much stronger striking options than Norwich. Would Hooper be guaranteed starter with Long and Odemwingie playing so well?

Wigan again are established, however just do not have the fan base or financial backing to ever really progress further than lower mid table i feel. Rugby is and always will be Wigan's main sport. This is the least likely of the 3.

I also throw Villa in as a potential suitor. Lambert needs another striker and looking back at his recruitment policy Hooper should fit the bill. Young, hungry and looking to make a step up in standard could see them make a move with the money they will get from the sale of Bent.

Again, similar to Villa, Sunderland would potentially also be a good move for the young striker.

Lets see what happens.

Celtic not there by default mate it is the Champions League they are the champions unlike some I could mention.

Aye m8 there by default,i suppose you would have been able to beat helsinki and helinsborg to reach group stages and you would have beat spartak away and beat barca prob the best team thats ever been ,aye m8 we are there by default haha also celtic are one of the biggest clubs in britain with the best fans in the world fact!

Champions of Scotland? Would they stay up in the premiership?

If any of this season's Premier League teams were playing in the SPL with their current squad of players, they would be guaranteed Champions League football. So yes, Celtic are there by default. A few good results against good teams are irrelevant. Norwich have beaten Arsenal, Tottenham & Manchester United in the last 4 games. Will they finish above any of those teams? Probably not. Celtic are a massive club, but while playing in the SPL they will never have better players than any given Premier League team. No sensible player would choose to play in the SPL over playing in the Premier League. It's that simple.

Helsinki and Helsingborg are hardly world beaters.... Id wager that most of the teams mentioned above would beat them comfortably. Yes you had a couple of good wins, especially Barca, but surely you can see where people are coming from?

Would you want to play for a team where you win the league by default due to a lack of competition, with maybe 6 big games a season in the champions league or play in the premier league where you face some of the worlds top teams on a weekly basis. Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham etc etc.

This is how is see it... Celtic is an attractive proposition for up and coming players from the Championship etc (eg Hooper) as they get to play in front a a big, passionate crowd, guaranteed European football due to poor standard of SPL etc. But once they have been there for a few seasons and start looking towards International football they will eventually realise that they need to be in the Premier League playing against top class opposition week in week out. This is why I believe Hooper will end up in the Premier League by the start of next season.

However, this is not a Celtic bashing exercise more the standard of the SPL. I have no doubt what so ever, that Celtic would be challenging for titles and Champions league if they played in the Premier League as they would then have the same financial muscle as clubs like Man U due to their outstanding fan base.

Sadly they never will make it to the EPL as i think it would be great to have them (although not at the expense of anyone else so they would have to start at the bottom of the football ladder in England IMO).

Your biggest challengers for a Champions League place are Hibernian

JUST GET A BIT SICK OF ENGLISH WHO THINK JUST CAUSE THERE TEAM PLAY IN ENGLAND IT MAKES THEM BIGGER THAN ANY SCOTTISH TEAM ,THERE IS FEW TEAMS IN ENGLAND BIGGER THAN CELTIC WE HAVE A WORLD WIDE FAN BASE THAT MOST TEAMS IN THE PREMIERSHIP COULD ONLY DREAM OF,WE ARE A MASSIVE FISH IN A VERY SMALL POND,ALSO TO THE GUY THAT SAID WE WERE LUCKY IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE THIS YEAR?TAKE SOME TIME OUT M8 TO CHECK OUR EUROPEAN PEDIGREE AND SOMEOF THE TEAMS WE HAVE BEAT IN THE LAST TEN YEAR,JUVENTUS,BARCELONA,MAN U,LIVERPOOL,PORTO,BENFICA,SPARTK MOSCOW TO NAME BUT A FEW SO WE MUST HAVE SOME LUCK EH M8 ? {Ed025's Note - you do have a great fan base mate, and have beaten some great teams...but is there any need for all that shouting?..

Still doesn't alter the fact that you have no competition in the spl, so its easy to qualify for champions lge,but you are much bigger than teams like wigan, wba and especially norwich, who seem to think they are something special, after a couple of wins

The fact still remains that Celtic would be relegated if they were in the Premier League. Any team in the PL could beat Barcelona on their day, scoring two goals against the best team in the world doesn't make you the best. If the likes of WBA, Norwich & Wigan were in the SPL, they would also be in the Champions League. When you put it like that, it's not really much of an achievement.

Look at some of the other teams you have "beat" Mr Shouty;Dundee,Hearts,Kilmarnock,Falkirk Inverness Caledonian Thistle etc.
Most games your side plays are hopeless missmatches that dont challenge your players. You have a great club agreed, but the SPL is not a truely competitive league because the gap between rich and poor is so extreme in comparison to most European Premier Leagues with the result that more than 50% of the games your side plays are pointless spectacles for both fans and players alike.

How is it a fact celtic would be relegated? First of all the bigger income for just playing in the epl, secondly our huge fan base would generate more income than the majority of the epl teams, we would be able to attract a better standard of players than we already do, so within a couply of season we would be challenging for the title! {Ed025's Note - thats a little ambitious mate, but i feel you would hold your own..

Bristol Rovers Board meeting on Monday morning ( they dont do Sundays) to discuss Mark McGhees shambolic tenure .... McGhee is in the minority believing he is doing a good job and the Directors have woken up to the fact that Rovers are Conference bound. John Ward and Steve Cotterill are being talked about but applicants are not forthcoming in what is fast becoming one of the poison chalices in the Football League ...

18 Nov 2012 16:49:06
I hear that McGhee has made in known to some close to him that he wishes tp return to Scotland.

He dosnt live up there, anyway who would have him.

There is civil war between the Scottish contingent and the rest. McGhee isn't there half the time and North just tries to be one of the boys. The whole club is a shambles.

Considering the so called experienced McGhee. He hasnt made any impression at all over his tenure. Think experienced player / manager appointment would be better suited. Any experienced Championship players heading into management want to cut teeth ?

Whats happening at my beloved Rovers
dream management team Ward/Cotterill
come on we have to change before its to late

MM will be off should a decent club come sniffing. You cannot expect miracles from the drab squad he has to work with.
Rovers fans should get behind him.
You cannot keep changing managers, you attract rubbish because of your basement league status

Bristol Rovers want to terminate McGhee's contract and pay him three months salary but McGhee is sitting tight till they come up with a sensible proposal.
