Leeds united are set to announce the signing of man united defender scott wooton tomorrow

19 Aug 2013 22:00:16
Manchester United defender Scott wootton to join leeds and will agree a deal with the ellend road outfit on Tuesday.

19 Aug 2013 20:40:05
Take it or leave it. A friend of mine works at the CG and is led to believe that Billy Davies is interested in bringing David Bellion back to England from Bordeaux.

Nowhere near prolific enough. Have enough of them at Forest already (Tudgay, Cox, Blackstock, Miller), so don`t believe it.

{Ed 003's Note - Updated table and next weekends fixtures are up now on the Correct Score Comp page. }

Ei ei ei o up the rumours league i go!

20 Aug 2013 10:32:00
With my reputation I don't need to Ed, good to see we tore you apart 2nd half on Saturday!

19 Aug 2013 19:43:48
Middlesbrough have had a bid accepted with bradford city for striker nhaki wells. I understand the deal will include boro youngsters Curtis main and luke Williams arriving on loan and cameron park arriving permanently

I do not think so. Park is a huge talent and boro won't let him go. As for williams and main I feel they need the experience and would benefit from a month or two on loan.

This deal will go ahead

20 Aug 2013 10:39:05
Played well in league 2, but I'm not sure he if he could do the same in league 1 or the championship.

Not true and Nahki Wells can play League 1 and will be more than capable of playing Championship football. How much have you offered to have a bid accepted? £5 Million? Because that is how much he will cost.

4 goals in four game this season so far tells me he's plenty good enough for leauge 1

20 Aug 2013 13:44:02
4 Goals in 4 League & Cup Games Hmmmmm. think he's doing ok in league.!

20 Aug 2013 16:35:13
i meant the mccormack deal going ahead.

I wonder how many Nahki Wells people think there is? So far he's DEFINITELY signing for.

PETERBROUGH, LEEDS, MIDDLESBROUGH, BOURNMOUTH, DONCASTER, HUDDERSFIELD, BRISTOL CITY, CELTIC, BURNLEY, WIGAN.

The list goes on. I don't understand why people make these up.

Haha 5mil? What planet u on? I agree he's the best player in bradfords history but that doesn't even say much! I'd much prefer McCormack from Leeds. Leave wells be. Hero in his city. Would never be in ours n untested in our league!

He's a good player but not worth 5 mil come on stop dreaming.

Sounds ok loaning all 3 plus cash deal good for city park will flourish on loan

Dwight Gayle moved to the prem for £4.5 Mil rising to £8 Mil, no reason why Wells can't move for £5 Mil up one division to a division he hasn't played in.

£5 million?! For a league 1 player! If league 1 players are worth £5million. why did we just spend £1million on Albert adomah who is a proven championship player? Surely by your valuations Adomah would be worth over £20million!

Crickey how many times. We will only accept 'silly money' because we don't need to or want to sell him. Although I think the total we would accept would be closer to 2.5million).

8 goals in eight!!!!!!1

19 Aug 2013 19:41:55
Glenavon striker Robbie McDaid is on trial with Reading

19 Aug 2013 19:39:24
Cabaye has been left out of the provisional team for their game against Manchester City tonight (19/8), suggesting that talks with Arsenal are on going.

19 Aug 2013 19:28:57
Reading have two strikers on trial this week - Glenavon FC's Robbie McDaid, and Werder Bremen striker Joseph Akpala.

19 Aug 2013 19:29:10
Cardiff agree 2 million pound Loan fee with Chelsea for striker demba ba. Deal to be completed once blues sign there striking target. also believed he will travel to wales to watch them play man city on Sunday.

£5,000,000 maybe 2 no

He said 2 mill loan fee not to buy!

Apologies my good friends

19 Aug 2013 18:56:48
Bury have signed Tommy Miller on 12 month contract:)UTS

19 Aug 2013 18:51:32
Sheffield United are to sign former Manchester United midfielder Mark Wilson.

A player that couldn't make it at Oxford, I doubt it. Also we don't need another journey man at full back, we've got higingbotham to fill that role.

Former Dundee United favourite Mark Wilson is set to rejoin the club.

He's joined Dundee

19 Aug 2013 18:41:48
Newcastle are to make a 6m offer for Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost. Set to follow up interest in alderweireld with a 4m bid and finally another rare French arrival of Henri Saivet who could cost around 5m

19 Aug 2013 18:05:43
Palace looking to hijack the Defoe to QPR loan move. Seen as an ideal partner for Chamakh up front. Wages a sticking point as Parrish looking to do a more canny deal than QPR were willing to pay.

I've heard this: Defoe will agree to move if his wages are not affected. Tottenham will agree to fund part of his wages if a £1.5m loan fee is paid to cover the costs. Good spot.

Same old. just as this gets close someone else will hijack!!

20 Aug 2013 11:32:11
Jermain Defoe will not be going anywhere near QPR, on loan or otherwise, in a World Cup year.

Defoe wants to be in the England squad. He can't do that at QPR. that's the more likely sticking point for them. looks on for QPR.

Great move for Defoe to come to Palace. hope it happens

I am very excited if this is the case that Defoe would be interested in joining Palace. He could help the young Gayle, whom in fairness needs to gain more experience. However, as with Bent I feel this could all be pie in the sky!

Defoe won't go to either he's waiting on west ham

19 Aug 2013 18:03:09
Crawley town are in talks with striker jay simpson after the striker was released by hull city

He's going to Bristol City

I think you will find he is well on his way to crawley he has been traning with them

20 Aug 2013 16:35:59
Jay Simpson training with crawley he should sign he is best friends with James hurst

Josh Simpson not Jay Simpson is at Crawley.

Josh simpson is crawley captain but jay simpson has been training with the squad barker hoping to sign him in the next few days

While Simpson didn't pull any trees up at Hull, he will have far better options than Crawley. Especially as he doesn't cost anyone to sign. A championship club will take him and pay double what Crawley could afford.

21 Aug 2013 20:05:08
He is on his way to crawley he did not impress on he's trial at Watford crawley look set to snap up jay on a 2 year deal

Hope so lad hope so

Jay Simpson training with the Crawley side and is close to wrapping up a 2 year deal with the club.

22 Aug 2013 13:12:34
Jay Simpson now very close to agreeing personal terms with crawley!

I heard jay Simpson has signed can someone confirm this

I am afraid this rumour is pure fantasy not a grain of a chance / truth.

19 Aug 2013 17:59:50
Talks still in going for McCormack. But Mowbray now negotiating for Vaz Te, Billy Sharp or Ronnie Schwartz. JM

Which player is it? Just having a stab in the dark I'd like to see diouf come in seems as though the lads changed and bring in some valuable experience
U know it tom

19 Aug 2013 16:25:32
Robert snodgrass is now another possible target for the baggies

19 Aug 2013 19:46:41
Inside information suggests Middlesbrough are to complete the signings of three new players this week. Three medicals are booked in for new arrivals this week at Boro's training HQ.

IN

Ross McCormack has agreed to a 3 year deal with a fee agreed with Leeds Utd for £1.8m plus add ons.

Kevin Doyle will sign on Loan with Boro from Wolves for the season with a permanent £2.5m transfer agreed next summer.

Nick Powell will join Middlesbrough from Manchester Utd for the season. Boro beating Wigan, Bolton and Blackpool for his services.

OUT

Marvin Emnes will accept a deal with Swansea if Boro pull off these three signings, for fee in region of £3m, funding deals for McCormack, Doyle and Powell.

.

19 Aug 2013 16:13:07
Bolton to get Papa Bouba Diop on a free agent as Freedman is looking for more experience in his first team.

At 35 I don't think so! There are younger experienced players available Chris Baird for one.

Diop hasn't played for nearly ten months and is way past his days at Pompey and Fulham. Definitely a no-go.

19 Aug 2013 15:46:52
richie wellens leaving doncaster end of month linked with blackburn rovers

He's only just gone there.

What a loud of rubbish, why would he leave for a team that DRFC beat, hmmm

19 Aug 2013 22:49:25
Hope not but can see it happening he signed short term with view for the investment now that's not happening Blackburn will give him money

To let wellens go now would be major blow outstanding start to his season about time the board started to pull in the same direction or get out and take the overpaid plank Baldwin with them impressed with dickovs signings so far

Wellens was signed on a short term contract as replacement for the injured Fernandez. When Fernandez returns Wellens will be surplus to requirements. I agree he is a better player than Keegan and possibly Furman but at what cost? His wages would be better spent in a different area of the field

Don't talk rubbish wellens will keep us in this division so that's worth 6 million

Wellens is a key player for us.
We should try to keep him.

Agree about plank Baldwin, others there as well who are complete dipsticks, Ferriby, Lockwood, all commercial team, all being kept in there jobs, by the very same people holding the takeover back, there's only one JR would be a travesty if he is forced out RTID

Look at the positives rovers fans. We have just took a point off last seasons fa cup winners in there own back yard! Dickov has made some good signings. Theo has 2 in 2 and rovers are on the way up! Great start and I'm proud to be a rovers fan even with the problems on the board. let's put it to bed and support the lads that are giving there all for drfc! RTID

Why does everyone give keegan greif actually watch what he does in matches against blackburn he was outstanding holding midfield with the tackles and quick passing.

19 Aug 2013 15:39:47
Gillingham to sign gary mcsheffery from coventry set to be annouced by the end of the week

No way we could afford his wages and he is a forward we don't need. Central midfield is required asap!

Gills have enough Strikers, its Midfield and defensive cover where we are short.

20 Aug 2013 06:52:37
Maybe, but he, s not an out and out striker. He plays predominately wide and scores goals. If true, he would be a useful addition.

Good player but so frustrating when he has a bad game.

21 Aug 2013 07:58:36
Not sure wages would be a problem. He hasn't got a club at the moment, so surely he must be getting a bit worried now.

This is not going to happen, if we had the budget for someone like him we would have spent it already lol. Not waited around for all the overpaid clubless junk no one else wants and waste money on them

19 Aug 2013 15:38:15
Fulham in talks to sign Chantome from PSG as he has been told he can leave

Just signed Scott Parker

19 Aug 2013 20:37:12
This true? Was reported in The Times, but thought now Parker come in, this would not happen?!?

Parker and Chantôme would be superb. Could push us towards the top 8 and possibly a cup run. Fingers crossed, exciting times.

Chantome would be an excellent signing with Parker. Midfield would be vastly improved from Sidwell and the rather weak Boateng.

Parker does not fit the profile of reducing the age of the squad but he is a midfield general something we lacked last season when Murphy left, will give us more than just his physical attributes.

Parker and Sidwell will play against Arsenal. Bent will play with Berbatov and we are looking strong through the central core.

Three more top signings in key positions and we might have something to be very happy about.

Weak Boateng? Boateng doesn't stop running and he looked good despite not being fully fit.

He's a good player, I think Boateng and parker will be the CM's.

How can you say Boateng is weak??

Boateng is the weakest midfielder in the squad. Against Sunderland he was off the pace and occasionally caught in possession in dangerous areas (this is fairly indicative of his displays pre season).

He is 30 years of age and has not played for a top team - you need to ask why? At best he is similar to Etuhu, he might run about a lot but of course there is more to being a prem footballer than that. Jol will replace Boateng with Parker and Sidwell will partner Parker in midfield on Saturday (if Parker can convince Jol on his fitness), that said Boateng will be a bit part player during the season playing cup games and being back up for either Sidwell or Parker.

Sidwell will be the back up. Boateng and Parker will be our starting CM partnership short of signing a further CM.

19 Aug 2013 15:28:18
Victor Moses is due at West Brom for a medical very soon :-)

Is this true would be great

Do you know what fee has been agreed then?

I don't know what is going on with this deal, I had it on good authority that the medical was taking place yesterday.

I'm not sure on the fee's sorry.

There's no such deal Chelsea want to keep Moses as a squad player an WBA have made no bid so it's just another made up rumour more than likely being the Clarke Mourinho link Moses on the fringe at Chelsea him being a winger an we're after wide men Nothing more, Shame though wouldve been a great signing

19 Aug 2013 15:18:38
Hartlepool will sign Muamer Tankovic on a season long loan from Fulham

Never heard of him hope he gets us the goals we need

One of our young strikers for our under 18's. has no trouble scoring in that league but will be interesting to see how he would do at Hartlepool. He is a very skilful player

About 2 years from the first team I reckon will be great at that level

To the fella above; he's an extremely talented striker/attacking midfielder. Berbatov style approach to his play with a fantastic touch, eye for a goal and brings creativity to any side.

19 Aug 2013 15:18:08
Jon Parkin spotted in McDonalds Drive Thru at Stairfoot Roundabout. He was wearing a Barnsley Training top - either he bought this or he has been at Oakwell today!

Maybe he works in McDonald's? Or he's on his 10 x Big Mac of the day, that's why they call him the beast!

Just calling in for his daily big mac and fries

19 Aug 2013 18:34:20
He's working selling fries

He's from barnsley and that area of barnsley

We had a training top that fitted him?

His dad lives at ardsley

Jon parkin was probably trying the entire menu! He's Tarn thru and thru but get a grip man

19 Aug 2013 20:15:18
His parents live in ardsley u plant pot! Always in ardsley oaks pub on a Sunday

He is a barnsley fan, simple

Or he used to play for them

20 Aug 2013 12:45:22
JP is on his way back to York City

Was wondering when this rumour was going to come up, happens same time every year. we've been trying to sign him for the last 5 seasons apparently ahahaa.

19 Aug 2013 15:15:42
Doncaster Rovers Look likely to be taken over, this will happen after the last remaing board member as finally agreeded to the take over. This will mean that DRFC will be owned outright by the new company, Unsure at this stage if JR as bought a share in the new DRFC to remain as chairman, But exciting times ahead. Planned take over to be compleated Tuesday 27/08

How many times are rovers fans going to be lied to alex drfc freeman

No take over. Two of 3 owners turned offer down flat, 3rd still hoping. Not going to happen. Also the turning down was a while ago, all the crap about takeover done and dusted weeks ago.

Who is lying Alex? John Ryan certainly isn't, he has made the proposed take over public, kept the fans informed and has put his cards on the table. Perhaps other Board members might think about telling us why they won't let the deal go through. self interest rather than interest in football?

Not crap about a turnover, Have you seen JRs latest interviews with various media outlets. This will happen, and if for any reason it does not JR Will LEAVE

The other bored members probs don't want the takeover because that means they won't make any money, they would have to buy back in to have a say in the club they don't stump up money now so they won't want to have to pay back in if the takeover happens

If only you knew. All will come out shortly.

Yeah Ryans going to walk away with 6 million in the club, sure he is.
No Takeover. it was all put to bed weeks ago, the only one trying to resurrect it is Ryan. NOT going to HAPPEN|>|

At the end of the day if rovers are to progress we need investment if the bored r happy to take a chance of being a yoyo club fron championship to div 1 it up 2 them but if jr says we should then i'm in his corner he deserves a stand named after him after all he's done for this club and all the so called fans who have a go at him should be ashamed

Wrong, not put to bed, just put on ice and the Rovers fans need to know who is blocking a good football decision and why they are doing it. Personal greed perhaps? Do they know that there are no pockets in shrouds, but also that football, unlike other businesses belongs to fans whoever owns the shares!

With this takeover business still rumbling what is the real reason y the certain board members won't sell and y have we got a property tycoon interested in keepmoat or is it the land around the ground everyone wants and not the footie what the fans want let's av the money and build

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Investment saga has been active since BEFORE end of last season, and it was all over before this season started. It will not be resurrected. Ryan only put it in public domain to try to resurrect. The put on ice statement is in Ryans head only. it will not happen.

Good job JR has a strong head or is stubborn then. The fans will be behind him as the truth comes out and some people are shamed. they will find out what it is like to have fans verbally attack them and fans from other clubs will join in. Perhaps it is about the land assets around the ground, but I would rather trust JR with the club than people who do not really support the club or don't actually like football - perhaps you would like to come out in the open?

Not sure the "Truth" will ever come out. But, if it does, its not a bad thing. Certain people are being held in a "Bad Light" currently, which is probably wrong to.

Or perhaps they need to be shown in a bad light for being involved for the wrong reasons and ambitions, for example being promoted to the Championship does not make good business sense. Often football fails to make good business sense, but football people understand this and make the best business plans they can, as JR has managed to do!

With more than a little help from those you wish to Tar and Feather.

Huddersfield are looking to offload players in order to reduce their wage bill. Lloyd Allinson, Liam Ridehalgh, Anton Robinson and Jimmy Spencer are all being allowed to leave

Is this to bring other players in?

We will struggle to get rid off Anton Robinson as he is out all season injured bb

I will dive them to any club that would have them, just not good enough I'm afraid. Get some quality loans in and we are sorted for this season. Up the Town.

Not exactly hard to predict. Very likely to happen all the same. They have all had more than enough time to prove themselves. Now its defo time for them to move on and free up shirts and wages.

Add Matty Crooks to the list, still a prospect but needs games and not going to get them this season so a loan on the cards. Robinson is going nowhere until fit then he will be paid up and free to leave.

If there under contract it won't free up wages because they will have to be payed off.

Good point

The majority of them players will be loaned not released meaning we can free up some wages for the season to bring some loan players in.

Surely the wages (although not in strickt monitary terms), will be freed up from the standpoint of Town having released a player or players and then being able to pay (those) wages to an incoming player under all the new fair play rules. Can you clarify the rules and if they apply in this situation Ed?

Thanks Ed. 001

Spencer has signed for Scunny until January, should do a good job for them, still need to move at least three more out, Ridehalgh, Crooks and maybe Wallace to go on loan.

Spencer on yet another loan, note how no club wants to buy him? Agree we need rid of a few other no hopers too ridehalgh, crooks in particular, has no zip or go about him. but alas if they do go it will no doubt only be loans, as no club wants to waste money on them, why we don't lose some of these donkeys is beyond me, I've more chance of winning the lottery than these lads holding down a place at a championship club!

U can't say that about crooks, because if u seen the lad you would know heis a great prospect for the future. agreed about rhdalgh and spencer, but crooks is one of those players who is technicaly gifted its just his gframe that needs to catch up, once he gets use to his physique he will do goodt things for town, hense why robins has spoken so highly of him.

Hope your judging crooks on going down to watch the development side, too judge a player on a couple of friendly games is a joke crooks is quailty with bags of potential

He can say that about crooks, as can I. He lollops around like there is no tomorrow, let's wait and see, my guess is he will end up on loan at a lg2 club just like the other 'prospects' we supposedly have!

Spencer came back to the club early from his last loan due to injury, so will have to prove his fitness before a club will shell out funds.

19 Aug 2013 15:04:17
Middlesbrough have been turned down for a third bid for Ross McCormack and will now look to sign Ricardo Vaz Te from West Ham.

3rd bid hasn't been rejected yet there in talks tv say.

Vaz te will join forest and mccormack is staying at leeds

Reach won't be sold your lucky to have him on loan suits boro suits Shrewsbury

19 Aug 2013 15:36:18
Derby are reportedly after defender Jos Hoovield from Southanpton.

He will do a good job for them. Just not Prem quality

We do need a solid defender, he is a good shout

Decent move for both parties.

Southampton will have wages freed slightly and Derby will get a player who was promoted from the championship, exactly what they need.

Hope so we need a good solid defender but not sure clough would go fo a johnny foreigner?

We have a decent if unproven albainian in the u21. That aside I do think we need decent proven quality in the cb position.

Is it a loan or permenant- if full transfer it may happen if hughes is sold

19 Aug 2013 14:58:54
Vicente set for Seagulls return. Oscar Garcia delighted.

Well he gasnt find a club yet

Yes please. Best player in the championship when fit.

No chance of sicknote coming back

The question need to be asked
BHA sacks GP for what? gross misconduct or a lack of transfer funds?
We recruit OG Barcelona Coach and winner of the Isreal League who conection in Spain will provide the talent we need to mount a promotion push?
So far we paid very little and loaned Bristish Players imo OG has not been allowed to select he's having to work with what he's given so if Vincenti returns who choice

There is still plenty of time left in the transfer window. As for Gus, it screams super injunction to me, so I'd be surprised if we ever find out what really happened. I'd love to know what Charlie Oatway did too

I dislike all this gus chat, quite simply the chairman did not get on that well with him and there is no doubt gus is a world class manager but his arrogance eventually beat him. I also know there is not the cash there again because of the fair play rules. Charlie Oatway is not a great man I have heard some stories about him which don't show him in a good light.

Firstly, do we really need/want Vicente back?! He's a sick note, and I would imagine not a very cheap one either. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing when fit, but how often is that?
Secondly, get over Gus, the guy was a plank. No doubt about him helping us out, his style of football has changed our club for the better, but as a tactician he had no skills whatsoever, his choices in subs confused me 99% of the time and as for his mouth, the bloke never knows when to shut it and that's what effectively got him sacked.
Oatway, I know this "man" on a personal level, I smiled like a Cheshire Cat when he was dismissed, cannot stand the bloke and I wish him nothing but misery.

If Gus Poyet was a world class manager he would have got Brighton promoted. End of.

Tony Bloom supposedly announced at the annual fans meeting in London that Poyet was sacked because both himself and Tarrico talked with Fulham without consulting Brighton's board first.

As for Vicente, I don't know if it was Poyet's training, but he was always injured, and for a player on high wages he's not worth it. Despite how good he is when fit.

Vicente is going to Kalonis FC in Greece.

19 Aug 2013 14:46:08
Dean Parrett will spend the week with Blackpool with a view to agreeing a deal

19 Aug 2013 17:29:08
He's on trial with Derby

Played for Derby U21 today v Crewe

Good luck mate, we had him on loan at Swindon and his ego is writing cheques his boots just can't cash

Who? What position?

I heard he is joining up with pool on Wednesday so Derby better get a move on

Please stay at Derby. Even though we are in desperate need of a right back, Dean Parrett is not the answer!

He is not a right back anyway.

That's why Blackpool should not sign him, their priority is a right back!

19 Aug 2013 14:21:46
mark wilson is set to sign a short term deal with former club dundee utd today following his release from bristol city, another former player morgaro gomis is back training with dundee utd as well

19 Aug 2013 14:07:49
I was on holiday and Paul robinsons son was staying in the same place as I was staying and he said that he was moved up to knaresborough in Leeds because his dad Paul is joining Leeds unfortunately.

Paul Robinson as lived in knaresborough
for quite a while, uses the same bar
restaurant as me

Never going to happen, I always hear this rumour

19 Aug 2013 14:06:46
Shrewsbury are looking to buy on loan middlesbrough winger after he impressed in his debut scoring the opening goal. The fee for the England under 20 winger is believed to be in the region of £200,000

As much as I would love this to be true being a town fan, I doubt this very much

19 Aug 2013 16:19:06
You have missed a zero off in your valuation

Not a chance - he has a future at Borough

They'd be wanting over a million for him, he's highly rated in teesside and he has a bright future ahead of him.

Mowbray should not sell, Reach is a massive prospect and when he develops further will be worth a lot more, this is the type of player we need to keep hold of.

You would need to put 1 million on top of that, we have big hopes for Adam reach,

Reach won't be sold for 200k! Are you having a laugh! He'll be in the Boro first team soon enough.

Boro won't sell Adam Reach, end of. He's only on loan to gain experience, won't be long before he's playing regularly in a Boro shirt.

Not a chance, sorry but he's a future Boro star there's hopefully no way we'd let him go on the cheap! hope the lad does well for you then comes back here and does the biz for us!

Ha ha. Good one. He's on a one month loan and is part of Boro's long term strategy. No chance pal.

He'll be one of the best wingers in England in 3-4 years. no chance.

No way would you be able snap reach he's one Middlesbrough top talent and future England talent the lad can be as good as he wants to be. probley one of the best talents in the championship, of Redmond went for for 3 mill then how much is reach worth 200k no chance

He clearly not for sale, up coming boro talent. First team soon

Also that price is laughable

Rubbish. Reach said himself he's gone down to shrewsbury on an initial months loan to get first team games and if it goes well he would like to extend that loan deal by a further month or 2. I think Reach is the best youngster we have at Boro, he has shots other players wouldnt, boro players typically try to pass it and don't shoot until their in the box, Reach is different, he'll shoot when he can, hence why he's more of a goalscorer than other players. In todays inflated transfer market prices, £200,000 is nothing for an england u-20 international and a player with promise. Boro should and will keep on to him, he's not far off being a Boro first team regular, which he said in a BBC Tees interview is his aim after he has played some first team games for shrewsbury.

If we sell him I refuse to support Middlesbrough anymore

19 Aug 2013 21:52:50
Why does every Boro fan jump straight on the offensive as soon as a rumour hits that we are selling a player, Bloodyhell guys come on even I haven't been to happy last 4 years but unless it comes on sports news then take no notice be realists not pacifists this is a rumour site not a real news room. Its good these guys are going on loan Downing and Johnson benefitted greatly from this so Shrews I hope he stays longer and gets you promoted as it will be great for boro if he does well. I seen enough on Saturday even if somewhat frustrating at times play to see if we get two more strikers in that we could be real good. We started last season slow and the games and football where just as frustrating until Reach or Williams got us winners so let's just give it till November, even if we where to sack Mogga now (and I'm not his fan) the new guy may not be an instant success plus they won't be able to buy anyone until Jan right or am I right. I argued with a Villa supporter in a chipper after the game who accused us Boro supporters as been deluded and to be honest he may have hit a point looking at some comments. I hope Boro do fly up league and do well even if in not Moggas best fan because I want boro to succeed not fail this guy may have a point if we keep in fighting look at Brighton, Leeds and Sheff Wed they back there teams in numbers no matter where they are in the league if we we blabber on saying we are a big club then why are we so fickle? When I thought about what this guy said even though I was angry he was right!

chazlad

Would love to see Reach pushing for a first team place week in, week out at Boro. Excellent to see him gaining this experience, cannot blame the shrews wanting him full time. Good luck to Shrewsbury

This deal won't be happening, but I hear the loan will be extended.

Thanks boro, he will do well for us

The loan may be extended - it is not even being discussed at the moment, he is only 4 days into a 28 day loan and played only 1 match.

Not a chance of him signing for the Shrews we can't afford him and he is to good for us in L1, luck to get him on loan hope it is extended

From a Boro fan here: reach is a fantastic player n he's going to be an international talent IMO 1 day and I have my fingers crossed for shrewesbury to get promoted this season and reach being part of it n if you lot do come up. Is he too good for you then? Personally I don't think so but I don't think he will leave Boro for a few years yet. Good luck shrews ill be keeping my eye out for you this season! UTB

Russell Osman has left his position as Ipswich U18 coach to take up a position as head of youth at Swindon Town.

That's funny he left that position on the 5th Aug this year and no mention in any of the press where he is currently working, if at all.

Not surprised to hear this, as he has a house in Bristol.

Anyone know what's going on with bramble and ndaw I believe these 2 would be good frees

Shay Given to Watford as a back up keeper for 1 season contract ITK

I'd be very surprised if he went anywhere as a back up keeper.

Back up to Almunia and Bond? If this is true, I'd say Bond was going on loan.

This rumour falls somewhere between Bob Hope and no hope!

19 Aug 2013 21:57:29
The mans good enough to at least warm a Premiership teams bench up, never mind ours. NO CHANCE

Definitely not. Given is still class and if he drops to Championship level then it will be as a starting goalkeeper.

But he's still on Villa's books.

We won't pay the money required to appease Villa and then pay him to be a number three keeper. That makes no sense whatsoever. Latest rumours have him still going to Doncaster, which makes far more sense for all parties

ITK. don't make out that pal! So silly. Can't see shay going to play back up at a championship side but then I'm not ITK

20 Aug 2013 12:45:50
ITK thanks for the laugh. The best gag on here for weeks

Brighton & hove Albion have made a bid for want away winger / striker filipe morais at Stevenage FC

Want away?

He is a defender / midfielder

Hope this one is true. Good player! We need another edge up top creating.

And he's not championship standard

No, he's not. He's a winger / attacking midfielder.

He isn't a defender lol and he does want away and I am a boro fan!

Brighton haven't got that much money. I cannot see Oscar Garcia going in for a player like him. We need to build on our first team.

Morais. Tricky winger, I remember him when we were in league 1. Would be a good addition but we have no money to pay fees for players. Everyone knows that

How do you know we haven't got much money? Bloom has already said the transfer budget for this year is similar to that of the previous two seasons, and we haven't spent any yet!

Morais is a winger / attacker that wants to leave and 2 championship clubs are interested so possibly brighton are 1 of those

Brighton will sign sharp

Following akwase Asante returning to Birmingham, the town board is set to meet after deciding what the real missing link is - a goal scorer. They are getting ready to invest some money into town buying a prolific goal scorer.

From what was said this morning, two names have cropped up in joe gormley and Niall McGinn of Aberdeen.

Now confirmed that Werder Bremen's Nigerian international striker Joseph Akpala is training with Reading this week with a view to a permanent contract.

Fee has already been agreed thought to be £1.2m.

Looks a decent player on paper. Big lad up front is what we're after

I don't think that is true

Has only scored once for Bremen and once for Nigeria hardly going to fire us into the prem

Injury hit season last season. take a look at his overall career, a pretty decent scoring record plus he's supposed to be very capable of playing up front on his own. don't judge players based on one season or we would never sign anybody.

19 Aug 2013 12:52:39
barry bannan seen in a box at wba v Southampton on saturday, possible move in the offy?

Could it be to WBA then, as that's more likely. We are not going to sign everyone and their cousin!

So many comments yet who knows too early to speculate although saints have a great team unity and osvaldo already worked under pottechino at espanyol so personally shouldn't be a problem! But he's obviously a very capable player or wouldn't be at southampton trust me they only bring in proven winners or players who are prepared to work hard!

No thanks he sounds like he turns green when he's angry

Stoke fans brace yourself for 3 more transfers. The 3 in are Gareth Barry, Junior Hoilett and Mevlut Erdinc and will cost us a total of around 13mil.

They will be good signings. Hoillet alone is worth that.

Lets hope so. Barry and Hoilett would make good additions to the squad and give real competition for places. Don't know much about the lad Erdinc, he doesn't sound all that prolific from what I have read, but can't be much worse than our current strike force.

The erdinc one really baffles me, they want what about 6 mil? where as diouf would cost us 8, diouf for me is a much better player, and has a LOT of pace that we really need in the team, how you got 13mil I don't understand either? as far as i'm aware, hoillet will be a loan as they don't want to sell, and barry isn't going to cost anymore than 4

Agree with the person above completely

Erdininc won't be coming after hughes watched him play he said he has better options

Swap Erdnic for Marco Fabian from Chivas and I would be so happy!

How are stoke going to pay Barry's enormous wages? As for the striker hunt, we want get anyone that's
"Prolific" with the money we are willing to spend. Diouf would be good but Hannover just don't wanna sell him. We will get a striker with an average goal scoring record which is better then what we currently got. They'll find someone that's got potential to score many goals and hope that he does. We will be alright this season :)

Sell Crouch, Jones could do better given more time on the field

As much I want us to buy a new striker, Rennes can keep their unwanted driftwood.

We need to keep Crouch, he's too important, get rid of Jerome and maybe Jones. Bring in Fabian, Hoilett, and Barry. Even considering the amount of centre mids we already have, we need Barry purely cause of his good passing and consistency. Too many times I see Stoke lose the ball in the middle if the field from a bad pass, and we need better supply for the strikers, Barry could be the answer to our problems. The only down side is his age, at 32 he's unlikely to have many premier league standard years left in him.

Stoke have said no to Erdinc and Barry going to Everton. Sinclair a possibility as is Diouf- Stoke trying to offload Jones

From some of the newer updates, it looks like Hughes may feel the same way

PC needs to back Hughes like he did Pulis! Money is majorly needed to get this team established to play this new brand of football! let's pay 8 mil for Diouf & 5/6 For Hoilett! Sick of all the messing around its silly! there's 13 days left for crying out loud!

The Diouf deal is well and truely off! By the end of the transfer season I reckon we will have Hoilett, Barry and either Defoe OR Marco Fabian. In some ways I would prefer Fabian, but then again Defoe is already a proven premier league goalscorer

Forget buying the three, go spend the cash on Neilton from Santos, awesome looking youngster. One young talented goal scorer could pave a bright future for the Mighty Potters! Especially considering the age and ability of the current defence!

Just look at United, Hernandez cost 6. 6M worth bout 20M, Ronaldo cost em 15. 4M sold him for 80M.

Get rid of crouch and jones and bring in Defoe and deeney. Get rid of palacios and either whelan or adam and bring in Barry and Fabian

The Diouf deal had another twist on Monday -the above who says its off has no idea

Hannover are just trying to play hardball with us because they think we will pay a higher price out of desperation. Diouf is prepared to come to stoke and I highly doubt he will remain patient with Hannover for too long. The probability of this deal happening is still very much alive.

Twenty year old Birmingham City striker Akwasi Asante has been recalled from a loan at Shrewsbury so that he can be swapped for ex Scotland U21 captain and Swindon player Paul Caddis.

Caddis is a target for Leicester city & could be used in a possible swap deal involving Dany N'guesson.

Seems Caddis is determined to move back to the blues which is why he turned down Blackpool and made it known he wasn't interested in moving to Millwall.

Makes sense - Asanti had a good game against Swindon

Blues would have him in a heartbeat

How about Jervis and Asante for outcast Caddis

Seems good, but Jervis plays for a Turkish team

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been looking as prospective season-long loans deals for either Harry Kane of Spurs or Benik Afobe of Arsenal.

Given the financial position I think we will be looking at loan signings to bolster the squad this season, so could be truth in this.

19 Aug 2013 11:29:03
Reading FC have taken Werder Bremen striker Joseph Akpala on trial.

Are we going to sign him?

He is trailing, we will know by next Monday

19 Aug 2013 11:28:55
Joseph akpala to join Reading FC from werder Bremen. After falling out of favor there. 99%. Done deal

19 Aug 2013 13:12:22
Fell out of favour. in simple terms he was dropped because he could not score

He was dropped as they signed another player

He wasn't dropped because of a lack of goals he had an injury last season which forced him to miss a fair bit of last season then found it hard to get back in the side coupled with the fact they have a new manager who doesn't want him. his goal scoring record before last season is actually pretty decent.

Gotta be better than Nick Blackman surely?

I agreed, Nick blackman is the definition of rabbish, I don't know why Reading FC signed him last season. So, Joseph Akpala is much better than him

Something of interest to WBA fans and my fellow hornets, before Vydra agreed a loan deal to The Hawthorns, he agreed a 4 year extension to his deal at Udinese meaning he's contracted to them until 2018.

Good news, mainly for watford fans, although it is optimistic for Vydra to return at all the fact that he is still under the Pozzo's control is reassuring that he many rejoin the Hornets should we get promotion

He won't re-join as we will have better strikers from next season than him-if we haven't already!

Surely either Vydra will have a great season in the Prem and a big club will offer 15-20 million as a 21 year old who scores at the top level, or he will have an average/poor season, in which case I think it's very likely he'd be reloaned/signed by Watford should we go up.

19 Aug 2013 10:49:11
Joseph Akpala of Werder Bremen is expected to be training with Reading FC, with the likelihood of signing before 2nd September, when the transfer window closes.

19 Aug 2013 13:18:43
Yes please!

True it was seen at nigeria news

19 Aug 2013 10:18:38
Bury FC 2 sign 2 Italians this week and a big center half from Coventry after a bid was accepted last week.

Well that's not true cov have only got cb full time willis and webster

We don't have any centre halves we have andy webster signed last week

You mean nathan cameron? he signed about a month ago

The center half will be William Edjenguélé or kevin malaga, edjenguele was fantastic last season for us but has fell down the pecking order this season

You mean the "edge" I assume

Forgot about billy edge

William Edjenguélé is the man Bury have had a bid accepted for

No bid required for The Edge as he's had his contract terminated by mutual consent so can sign as a free agent.

19 Aug 2013 08:09:44
Blackpool are considering making a move for Justin Hoyte who is out of favour at Middlesbrough

Far from out of favour just not as fit as Richardson or parnaby jus as it says in the EG today. So that's blew your rumour up straight away!

Is boro having a sale

I would say let him go but not convinced Richardson has the pace to deal with a quick winger. looks too powerful for me!

19 Aug 2013 02:33:04
With Jon Shaw likely to need surgery, Luton Town are set to step up their interest in Swindon striker Paul Benson in what the hatters hope will be a 1 year loan deal with possibility of a permanent move should Luton finally get promoted. Also with Anthony Charles out for a while with a shoulder injury, John Still may look to bring in a centre back on loan, ideally one with experience, possibly look to one of his former clubs for inspiration.

19 Aug 2013 00:58:32
Middlesbrough have had a third bid rejected for Ross McCormack, and will no longer be persuing the player

How much was third bid

No 3rd bid has been made as Middlesbrough have already given up on signing McCormack after he's publicly stated he wants to stay at leeds and now were only looking at 1 striker! this from a reliable source

Finally. we should sign someone else who are willing to stay in the club. sign Peter Odemwingie, please Mogga

I totally agree with the above comment, odemwingie would be a great asset to the Boro squad.

I agree odemwingie season long loam needed now not last day of transfer window knows the English league so won't need time to settle in

Agree he would add quality. But would Peter Odemwingie not bring his problems with him? It's just a thought, but why is no one else chasing hi?m and his move to UAE fell through.

19 Aug 2013 00:29:29
Wigan could be set to take Manchester United midfielder nick Powell on a season long loan in the next few days

19 Aug 2013 18:11:07
Owen coyle is not done in the transfer market yet which is good news for us wigan fans we need a striker with pace like nakhi wells!

19 Aug 2013 19:16:26
why get powell when we have a quality footballer in danny Redmond give this lad a chance

Powell has had experience at Crewe good move for us

Wells and Powell would both be great signings.

We desperately need another striker, powells been sold as a midfielder and nakhi wells is a winger, gudetti from man city would be the best if its true

20 Aug 2013 11:58:14
I would be very happy signing wells lots of pace and would be a good combination with grant holt

18 Aug 2013 23:29:21
West brom have identified their 2 main targets

Moses is linked with a possible 5-6m bid from west brom

West brom also in talks with wes hoolahan of Norwich of around a similar fee

Strange how Barkleys goal was quality but RVWs was lucky that header was class, Coleman was Johnny on the spot and Whittakers was Shere persistence with a quality finish, as usual though no credit where it's due

Moses is worth about £12-15M so it's not going to happen and Hoolanhan is only an option if we got him on the cheap, so nice rumour but I think that's all it is.

If West Brom offers 5-6mill for Hoolahan, we would accept it without hesitation! Yes he has been brilliant but I can't see him doing it again this season.6mill + another 2 mill from our budget and we would be able to sign a top quality playmaker.

Moses is NOT worth 12-15 million

19 Aug 2013 11:19:59
10-12m for Moses? Some jokers on here!
I would not only expect him to part the sea for that much. Champions League here we come!

Seeing as west brom haven't spent anything really could see them getting Moses. Don't think wes would leave Norwich. Norwich need another quality striker/attacker/winger

Moses is only worth £15m if Liverpool are buying

19 Aug 2013 14:16:30
West brim have not money, why do you think vydra is only on a loan & all their other signings are frees

West brom have plenty of money to spend but unlike other clubs we don't feel the need to spend big for players we don't know much about. And Moses is a players we scouted years ago at palace and I'm sure we've had links with hoolahan before

West brom like every other prem team get large tv money. They can't be skint now and they will spend

5-6m for Hoolahan
Good business for Norwich I would say. He's a great player but not sure he fits the current mould and strikers Norwich have. Sell him Hoots! and get another striker.

The way we could afford moses is if it was remi moses not victor

Is the rumour correct that if Mr Peace does not put up any money for new players Steve Clarke would be leaving.
Would put it past it because we have spent no money at all still in Mr Peace's pocket.
