I have just returned from work at gamegrid in glasgow airport. There was two very official looking men in Rangers ties one of which my friend tells me is Andy Dickson (his dad plays golf with him) they met with someone coming off the amsterdam flight (9:45pm) but I didn't get a look at the boy or who he was with. This is a garuantee (inside info at Murray Park)
They failed in bids for Queresma and Poulsen earlier today and these were the only two that Smith felt would enhance the current team that were available and within budget.
Shittu was talked about but was no more than a "safety net" should an 11th hour bid for Bougherra come in.
Smith has made it clear whilst he would have liked to have added to the squad he is nto going to "panic buy" a player that will not add to what he already has.
Shittu MAY join in the summer, pending the clubs financial position.

and finally the surprise move is for striker roque santa cruz.
apparently liverpool favour a loan move however city are only willing to sell on a permanent deal, the two clubs are currently thrashing out a deal in the region of 7–10 million pounds, hoping to get it in before the deadline.

Heard on the grapevine that after Arsenal's dismal showing that Arsene Wenger may decide that to keep fans interest and perk up morale he has decided to make a quick bid for Valencia's David Villa. He has decided they need a proven goalscorer and he has a pretty good record! He has admitted he has funds in the past and it would just be up to Villa to decide on a football and wages point of view. The player could command upwards of 200,000euros and this is definately too much for arsenal. A bid of £38 million + add ons will be tabled. Wenger would not normally consider this but it shows aspirations even if the bid is not successful. I certainly wish that this bid could be spunked on Villa although a move to Chelsea or Man City would be more probable.
