01 Feb 2013 21:43:33
Former Plymouth defender Robbie Williams is interesting
league one clubs Bury, Portsmouth and Hartlepool.

01 Feb 2013 21:43:18
Plymouth Argyle are set to sign free agent Jody Morris on a deal until the end of the season.

Never happening

01 Feb 2013 20:48:14
Jeff Goulding to join up with Barnet on Monday with a view to a short term contract. Freed by Cheltenham for this purpose as Barnet couldn't sort out a deal during the window.

Good hold up player but not prolific enough. 1good game 5poor ones

We've already got enough strikers who don't score enough

01 Feb 2013 20:40:55
On deadline day reading were looking at Tom ince, gyfli sigurdsson and Yossi benayoun. Hopefully these deals can be done in the summer along with Felix stoppilla sunzu(only if we stay up). Also in the summer gorks and church will be leaving reading(unless we get relegated).

No only sigurdsson {Ed003's Note - and Ince at £7.5m}

Total fantasy.
No bids for players will be made until our future is secure. Yes we bid for both players in Jan, but neither will join us if relegation occurs and itd dependant on their form during the rest of the season.
The Stadium has current plannng permission for upgrading and based on plans when originally muted if we stay up it could be carried out quickly starting at the end of the season and be completed a month or so into the new season. But there has been no mention of this in local press so is not happening this season. Unless we are in the premiership its pointless as we drop from 24000 sellout attances to 18000.

We can't fill the stadium for most games so why add 8,000 more seats. Going on are activity in the transfer market, I don't think Reading would have spent 20 million on these players.

Our home attendance has been pretty much 99% all season. The stadium expansion has always been an idea as we applied for planning permission years ago. Anton has big ideas for the club that doesn't just involve needlessly throwing money at the club.

Any news on the next Blackpool manager it has all gone quiet nobody even linked however I did see Paulo dicanio in lytham the other night but just could be a coincidence maybe just visiting someone

Di cano is thinking about his postion at swindon. Would be qeuit a character at pool even better than ollie maybe. Anyone see this deal happening.

I can't see Di Canio picking us when Huddersfield are on the lookout as well, regardless of whether he was in Lytham. Might've been playing a round of golf

When did you see him that will be quality if he's manager :)

Probably just happened to be visiting someone!

Probably end up with Dickov

Billy davis

01 Feb 2013 20:00:02
paolo di canio set to resign as swindon manager. source-swindon evening paper. like I previously said zippy whilst new manager appointed

He is going to huddersfield

01 Feb 2013 22:18:11
no, he is going to blackpool

It will be suicide for the new board for PDC to resign, I fully expect them to act fast, it may not be made public for a while though, if he goes they clearly haven't acted in time.

Dicanio next charlton manager, as early as next week. {Ed003's Note - Charlton already have a manager}

Di canio not going the board has just told him he will get money to spend when the loan window opens and has apoligshed about Matt ritchy also if he stays he is set to get a £500. 000 bonus

Problem is the new owners can't really make it publically known that they have spoken to Paolo because the old farts in the Football League need to sanction the takeover.

Could be right the hudders link, used to live in yorkshire when at wednesday.

Man city and man united and Chelsea are going head to head for stoke city's bergovic with all three struggling sign a world class goal keeper and stoke beating all 3 for birminghams butland it's believed man city are going test the other two clubs resolve by offering 20m for the player man united had formally stated they would match stokes 16m valuation

01 Feb 2013 18:35:46
Walsall contemplate signing former striker Taiwo Atieno after his deal short term with Barnet expired

He is taking time out from football, the deal did not expire

01 Feb 2013 18:14:09
Lee Croft has signed a permanent contract with Oldham Athletic after he was released by Derby last night. He will remain at Oldham for the rest of the season

Kurtyoafc

Did those new signjngs turn up for us, awful day at walsall. mantom who we had on loan 2 years ago looked quality in front of the walsall defence, we could not get through the middle, why did we not keep the ball out wide, hence goal, hae always liked dickov but running outof chances know.

Dickovs gone thank god when was the last time we won 3 league games on the trot should of been replaced last summer

Dickovs walked now and 40 have already applied for the job, Corney will know who he's lined up for the job that's for sure.

barnard looks good but iwelumo not match fit, Byrne looking slower, list goes on. Players are to blme for Dickov walking as they don't play for him in the league they do all the wrong things in a game.

04 Feb 2013 21:23:38
Keith Curle has to be the one for us! Can save us at this moment

PLAYERS are to blame for him walking as Liverpool game they showed him they can play and Walsall didn't even bpther after 2o minutes. Fell for him as they didn't do their jobs and he's fed up of it as the CUP games have shown we have a good team.

Hope they are PROUD of that. results were bad but he had just signed 4 new players.

01 Feb 2013 15:14:48
John Akinde will sign for Portsmouth following his release by Crawley Town.

Somehow I don't think so, akinde is not good enough for the football league, non league at best

01 Feb 2013 14:34:45
Portsmouth are interested in taking Sheffield Wednesday's French development squad winger Bastien Hery on loan

01 Feb 2013 14:59:01
Michael Rose and Iain Henderson released on mutual consent both will now try to find new clubs as Joe Dunne looks to create a new look squad!

They will sign for Pompey, everyother freebie/unwanted player seems to. How manys players are they going to be allowed to sign?

01 Feb 2013 15:23:54
Next week Norwich City will begin talks with Athletic Bilbao regarding the signing of Venezuelan international defender Fernando Amorebieta on a pre contract agreement that will see him end up at Carrow Road in the summer.

Dont start all this rubbish again they will be having their minds on staying up not wishful signings in the summer.

01 Feb 2013 19:33:54
sorry he's going to everton

Wat a load of rubbish if they can't spend money in the jan window then there not going to spend in the summer plus they only buy from the championship and poundland

Beccio will start at the weekend

02 Feb 2013 18:49:56
Thank you Leeds for Johnson snodgrass howson and beccio is there a Leeds player you recommend Norwich for next window

Of course we will spend money in the summer, we bid a confirmed 6m for Hooper with rumours of 8m. That to me signals intent for the summer providing we stay up.
OTBC

01 Feb 2013 15:16:22
Jason Brown set to train with Portsmouth with view to a move. Pompey set to release one of their goalkeepers to make way for Brown if he wants to sign.

01 Feb 2013 14:36:24
Nigel Clough is looking to use the loan market to bolster his Derby squad.
Expect Matthew Kilgallon, Rhoys Wiggins and Simeon Jackson to join the Rams next week from Sunderland, Charlton and Norwich respectively.

01 Feb 2013 18:57:43
Why would Wiggins go to Derby? He is expected back from injury this Saturday and when he's fit he will get regular first team football at Charlton.

Rhoys Wiggins has just returned from a bad injury and to suggest that Charlton would loan him to Derby is beyond belief, so get your facts right before you post this nonsense.

No, just no

So we (charlton) are going to loan our best and first choice left back out just after he's come back from injury to a championship rival? makes sense!!

If jackson goes, that leaves us with 2 first team strikers. (holt and becchio) Have you even thought about this?

We'll have young cedric evina off charlton instead, if they want wiggins so badly. He's got a bit of pace that lad

01 Feb 2013 13:58:49
West Brom are looking to loan out Odemwingie when the Loan transfer window opens next week. Cardiff, Middlesbrough and Leicester are all interested

Only to stop one of the others getting him.

Redbird

Boro need him

That decision not to get rid of wingie is going to cost us about 5 mill, wages we have to pay to a player who doesn't play and then the transfer fee, is peace mad or loaded.

Cant stop laughing, are they going to give him 80 grand a week like qpr were,

03 Feb 2013 14:06:16
get louis saha in and reo - coker

Reo Coker has been trouble wherever he goes that's why he gets frozen out wherever he goes, last thing we need someone with that sort of ego.

Saha, another over the hill crock just what we need!

Would love to see Reo Coaker, Luis Saha, David Bentley, Matty Upson and Gary O'Neil at the club.

Why would you want gary oneil back he was garbage last time we had him only goes backwards and sideways we've got too many of them players already. Tow

Lets get a foreign investor in to buy some proper class not ones that we class 10 years ago. Obvious gibbo hasn't the money to challenge the other teams looking for promotion

Gibson will always do what's best for the club and give what he can afford the last thing I'd want is a foreign investor with no feeling towards the club just look at Birmingham Blackburn Portsmouth Aston villa sometimes it kills your club Gibson and Mowbray will get us up eventually UTB. Tow

Gibson is the best boro will ever have.

01 Feb 2013 13:30:25
Romain Vincelot released by Brighton & Hove Albion, Dagenham & Redbridge are interested in having him back at Victoria Road if personal terms can be agreed.

01 Feb 2013 13:19:14
Crystal Palace to go back in for George Boyd in the loan window

Millwall to try for Harry Kane if Spurs let him out on loan again.

Charlton to sign Hogan Ephraim, John Bostock or Sanchez Watt.

Look at charlton going for 3 players in the loan window an millwall going for one sort it out wall we need strikers the rest of our team are ok we just need someone who can score goals kane aren't going to happen forget it!!!!

Kane is on loan at Norwich. You don't have a clue {Ed003's Note - You are slating posters for not having a clue??? }

Been recalled by spurs

Kane has been back at Spurs and was officially recalled on Friday. Millwall have already enquired about his availability. I am told that KJ hopes to bring in two strikers and allow N'Guessan to go out on loan.

Kane is not at norwich now he has been recalled by spurs because of injuries defoe is injured i'm sure he will be on the bench against west brom away

No Tottenham Recalled Harry Kane Back Kane ain't At Norwich No More And Kane Was Brilliant Up Front For Us

I think that after todays game the problem of getting a 'NEW' striker is 'MUCH' more of a problem than we all thought?I cannott see us getting Harry Kane at all i'm afraid, that means on loan or permanenant? Over to you KJ, What is your opinion?

If we don't get a decent striker asap we are going to be in 'serious' trouble! it isn't too late for us to be involved in a 'relegation' scrap! it sounds 'drastic' but there are a lot of games to be played unti 'may!coyl

We should've tried to sign Clayton Donaldson from Brentford!Ok he is 27yrs old! So what, Hulse is 33! It would have been a decent signing IMO? But KJ & his scouts seem to think differently i'm afraid!

There is little or no re-sale value on players like Donaldson, aged 27 . Due to the budget Millwall must mainly look at youngsters they can sell on or old players to bring the kids through.
UTW

So we're very much still a 'SELLING' club then?

01 Feb 2013 12:36:32
Apparently Southampton came so close to completing a deal for jermaine lens they nearly announced it.
Deall fell through at the last minute as the paperwork could not be completed on time

Why do clubs leave these things so late

Because people at these clubs fail to realise the importance.

01 Feb 2013 22:07:12
This is not true, saints announced via social media an hour and a half before the deadline that de ridder was the last bit of business for the day and nothing else would happen.

03 Feb 2013 18:23:46
I can't see saints making 40 points they play good football but we concede to many goals. Are there any loan signings on the way?

No, there aren't loan signings; there is the return of two centre-backs so hopefully we never have to see Hoover again.

No loan window in the Premiership. I can see saints making 40 points, some great performances and away from home. I think you will be surprised by how saints perform.

Once the man city game is out the way we have gotone of the more comfortable run ins towards end of season. We had already identified thisat start of season so wigan was not a "must win" game as many suggested. I can't see us not reaching 40pts nor can I see us being relegated on current performance. We still have 2 internationals to enter the team (forren & mayuka) which should give us strength at back & more firepower up front. My only hope is that we make safety before the last game of season! Really don't want any last day nerves!

04 Feb 2013 22:19:35
Like a lot of saints defenders forren has not played at this level and it's going to take time, just wish we had sign a big name. Q p r, reading and west ham are the only games we have a chance of winning gives us 33 points.

04 Feb 2013 22:38:16
Lambert is a great goalscorer but to make the England team you need pace, just hope he keeps injury free for saints. We had the luck to meet villa at the right time without those wins we would be with qpr

04 Feb 2013 23:29:47
Boruk has made a couple of good saves of late but he never comes out to catch the ball from corners or free kicks to me he is just a shop stopper with the ball going anywhere on rebound.

Yeah because Beckham and Lampard have lots of pace don't they? I don't think pace should be an issue if there are pacey players around you walcott, ox etc

33 points? Yeah, right mate but no need to worry 'cos, as you know, the World's going to end before then anyway. I'm becoming a fan of Boruc but not too sure I want to see him try and catch the ball based on earlier attempts!

To some I extent I disagree. although forren has not played premiership football, it was said that he is good enough to slot into the Manchester United side & he is a norwegian international. Time will only tell of course. Regarding only getting 33 pts by end of season, agreed this is one possible outcome but I firmly beleive we will be safe before last day of season. after a dodgy start to the season we have now changed the wY we play & have changed it again under mp, which is going to make it very difficult for teams to adjust & counter us this late in the season. Think back to last season, we had a very high tempo to begin with but then by xmas, most teams had sussed how to counter us & thus we only scraped over the line on the last day. I think we will have some very interesting results coming through maybe even this saturday against city? But, still believing we will be safe.

01 Feb 2013 12:02:35
70 applicants for the Town managers job. One of which is Roy Keane. One manager applied for the job within an hour of Larry getting sack! Town are not approaching anyone, only those who apply for the job and sending in their CV. New manager hopefully will be announced Monday, Town seek someone who can get the team playing good football on the floor and who likes to progress and work with youth.

Lots of clubs have 'Town' at the end of their club name.

Which Town? Ipswich? Luton? Northampton? I assume Huddersfield, 70 applicants don't make me laugh! Any a patch on Phil Parkinson? Parky is God

Darren ferguson

Don't believe they won't approach Adkins if he doesn't apply.
Of all the out of work managers, he's head and shoulders above the rest.

Approaches now all go through agents anyway and while they might not say do you want a job, they would be daft not to ask Adkins agent if he would be interested.

Huddersfield's new manager is still managing a team in a league below their current level. He will not be an Englishman.

01 Feb 2013 11:53:01
Reading looking to buy Sigurdsson in an 11m deal and Ince in a 9m deak in summer. Reading also looking to buy a young left back for around 3m. Reading also expanding stadium to 32,000 and start building for their new training ground

01 Feb 2013 13:07:27
Why expand a ground that you can't fill at the moment!

That will be all of your parachute payments gone though!?

So basically you have no idea like everyone else.

01 Feb 2013 11:53:01
Reading looking to buy Sigurdsson in an 11m deal and Ince in a 9m deak in summer. Reading also looking to buy a young left back for around 3m. Reading also expanding stadium to 32,000 and start building for their new training ground

First we must stay in the league. One goal at a time

Can't fill the stadium? we do fill the stadium corrected for you

We can fill it we had 42,000 At wembley 2 times In playoffs 1 at the millennium stadium. Reading FC are making a 32,000 seater stadium and we Will fill it

Can't fill the stadium do you watch football we fill it every week. bet you never watched a live game in your life

Reading fc have already got planning permission in 2007 to have a 38000 capacity but the planning permission runs out November 2013 so if we do stay up and I so badly hope we do I think that this rumour could well be true. Anton has already said he wants to attract people from further afield perhaps some qpr or villa fans may have a re think in who they support at end of season! No offence meant to those teams and I hope you both stay up but not at readings expense!

Why expand a ground that you can't fill at the moment!

Every single game this year demand has been higher than availability so how do you justify that one?

You can't stand still in football. The first stage of the expansion will take place at the end of next season if we are still in the prem and will take the capacity to 30k not 32.

Reading fan here we won't fill it unless we allow more away fans in. The stadium is never full any game the attendances are made up you only have to look around on match day and at least a 1000 empty seats even against Chelsea and Man U

01 Feb 2013 11:51:43
Middlesbrough are set to loan odemwingie from west brom for the remainder of the season as loan window opens next week

I don't think Mowbray would be interested in a player with his attitude. leeds maybe.

Dont be daft 100%we don't he will go to qpr

How will he go to QPR, premier league clubs can't use the Loan window, if they don't want him at west brom he will go to a championship clum on loan till the end of the season, boro should gamble, attitude or not he could give us the edge we need for promotion!

01 Feb 2013 10:41:26
Robert Earnshaw, Adam Hammill and Sean Morrison all to sign for Huddersfield Town on loans until the end of the season when the loan window opens.

That seems legit tbf

We won't look at any loans until the new manager comes in.
The only way they could be any truth in this would be if Lillis was getting the job.

The emergency loan period does not open until Feb 8th and the maximum period of any emergency loan is 93 days which would take us to the end of the season. So it would be possible for Mark Lillis or any new manager to bring in new loan signings. Can't see any of the above coming in. Surely a new manager will have his own thoughts.

Can't see any of this happening, Morrison getting a few premier starts, Earnshaw no longer a goal threat, Hammill maybe but would have to convince our new chief he deserves the chance.

Lets go for peter odemwinge, not loved at west brom, get him in the shop window, as I carn't see him playing in prem for a while, and we need goals. have you seen goal diff?.

01 Feb 2013 09:15:02
Kevin Thomson is on his way back to Glasgow Rangers after being released by Middlesborough. {Ed039's Note - Rangers are restricted by a transfer embargo which does not allow them to sign players over 18 years of age until 1st September, regardless of whether they are free agents or not. So he wont be signing for Rangers)

Think you will find he will sign for one of
the yorkshire clubs till end of season

01 Feb 2013 09:06:09
Bury to sign 2 players on loan next week

We already have 6 loanees at our club so that seems unlikely unless we are going to send a couple back to their parent clubs.

01 Feb 2013 08:45:35
Doncaster rovers are interested in handing short term contracts to free agents Nathan Ellington formerly of Ipswich and Kevin Thomson formerly of middlesborough as they continue their push for promotion to the championship.

Where is all the gossip then.?

Arsenal are prepared to let Ramsay come to town on loan until end of season.

Clegg gone, now if we can get rid of Chopra, things can only get better.

Don't know how you can say that Chopra looks good when he comes off the bench and he has the ability to be a great striker. he just has a few problems.
COYB

Come on, somebody say something.!

01 Feb 2013 08:11:48
Just spoke to someone close to Harry Kane, Spurs recalled him yesterday. Expecting to move back to Millwall next week with a view to buy at the end of the season.

Why couldn't we just buy him in the window? After a successful loan we could end up in similar situation to the Wood transfer fiasco

I hope this is 'TRUE'!I think we could get him to sign a 'Pre-Contract for the summer? If he wants to sign for us & if Spurs want to sell him? Don't know/not sure?

No recall reported on the Spurs website.

What and you believe this do you. . more HK rumours, we can live in hope I suppose

Well we are "short" up front

I would be very surprised if this happens. Spurs need cover up front and with Kane only being 19, I doubt they are looking to sell him - yet.
Saying that, it may explain why Millwall didn't bring in anyone yesterday.

Recall now reported

Can you please 'HURRY UP' KJ & sign a decent CF next friday onwards otherwise who knows! I don't know why just because we are a small to average club that we should not have 'BIG' ambitions of being in the PREM within the next 1-3 yrs? Have ambition or just be a medioca championship side? What you think Millwall fans?

01 Feb 2013 08:03:15
Pompey set to sign free agents John Akinde, Lee Collins, Lee Croft and Robbie Williams. They were all released in the January transfer window so they can sign outside of it and will train in the next few days along with the French lad N'Diaye who trained on Thursday.

Akinde was training yesterday.

Croft signed till the end of the season at Oldham.

01 Feb 2013 07:54:32
George Boyd may now go to Crystal Palace on loan, after fun and games at the Notts Forest medical

It would appear that the manager at Nottingham Forest does not have any say at all, and the new owners are running players in and out.

Hope he doesn't have to drive as my not see the way.
Good luck to him and Palace shocking treatment by a bunch of wasters

He might go to blackburn

01 Feb 2013 17:35:23
He failed his medical. They're entitled not to commit to a 2m 4 year contract with a guy who might not be able to play for 4 years.

They've already been burnt with jenas, hutchinson, ayala etc.

Never heard of a team called notts forest

Notts is short for Nottingham, where as Nottingham County FC is called Notts County FC.

01 Feb 2013 01:20:14
Alan Bennett to AFC Wimbledon is back on after Cheltenham Town terminated his contract.

He signed. We are delighted.

Weak link that's why yatesy dropped him. glad he has gone

31 Jan 2013 23:58:33
Shrewsbury Town will look to sign Aston Villa youngster Graham Burke and Cardiff Academy player Ned Thomas. Deals to happen next week.

I heard this ned thomas is back on trial at manchester united and has been linked with Chelsea, bolton and everton. Amazing player with great technique and is obviously very well known.

Ned Thomas is staying with Cardiff, has no intentions to ever be seen at the Greenhous Meadow (Mr T).

Plenty of shrews rumours, unfortunately none of them have been right at all, not one

Ned Thomas spotted at Greenhous Meadow today.

31 Jan 2013 23:17:30
Jeff Goulding left Cheltenham Town by mutual consent after the arrival of Byron Harrison
