Liverpool have an agreement with Lyon for 26yr old left back Michel Bastos, who can also play left wing. The deal is player plus cash. The player to make way is Lucas Leiva valued at £15 million euros with another £18 million euros to be paid to complete the deal. This will be the first of many big signings that will come in to Anfield this summer with Rafa looking to sign a new striker, central midfielder and a right winger. Rafa will also look to strenghten the centre backs but will only sign a new centre back if one come available of the top quality that is required. brace yourselves liverpool fans for a summer like none othere..by the way, im actually a Spurs fan

'Robbie keane to stay on at celtic mcgeady to be sold onto birmingham money from mcgeady to fund buying keane. Rangers in serious financial trouble no money to buy also Walter Smith steping down before ship sinks. good times ahead for the righteous side from glasgow

The Dub'

Should that be a post by The Dobber? What a load of nonsense! Keane has already said he IS NOT staying! get over you blinkered maniac!Says alot for how bad Cltic are when they vote a 6 month loan signing their player of the 'YEAR'!hmmm!haha. A buyer is in place for Rangers, announced once title is confirmed come sunday. Players to come in include Alan Smith who is surplus to requirements at Newcastle, McGregor out to birmingham or wolves with Alexander to fight out getting no 1 jersey next season with Thomas Cerny. James McCarthur from hamilton to arrive as well as a south american striker i believe is in the brazillian league. Boyd to leave again birmingham or aston villa likely.

In england, man utd to make a move for Torres with berbatov leaving. Chelsea and arsenal also in for Torres. Gerrard may be tempted to head for spain with barca and R.Madrid to fight it out for him.

My uncle works for Schalke04. Arsenal and the club are working out a deal which sends Almunia, Fabianski, and 9.2 mln. Euros in exchange for Manuel Neuer.

20 Apr 2010 16:55:14
Burnley have agreed to Sign Sheff Wed Keeper Lee Grant for 1.7M even if Burnley are relegated.

the deal will rise to 2M if Burnley go up and he plays over 50 first team games

20 Apr 2010 16:37:45
My uncle is a groundsman at Ibrox and he says he was speaking to Walter Smith and a couple of parties are in advanced talks about a takeover. Money will be available and they are also talking to Chelsea about taking some young players on loan next year. Look out for Alan Smith in a Rangers jersey too as Newcastle replace him for the premiership. Also heard that Neil Lennon will be given the job full time as long as they finish second(Celtic) because he is the cheap option and Robbie Keane has cost them a fortune.

20 Apr 2010 16:39:08
Arsenal top targets:
Joe Hart: young, hungry and already top quality, a marked improvement on our current options, available for about £8m.
Cristian Zapata: CB who can cover at RB and LB, comfortable with both feet, good going forwards, good in the air. still under 25. available for about £10m.
Micah Richards: potential for great quality but has been average at city, still 21, wenger the man to turn his career around, available for £8m.
Moussa Sissoko: French powerhouse, the missing man in midfield to increase the competition for places. available for £12m.
Eden Hazard: Lille starlet, a dream signing, likely as he has pinpointed arsenal or real madrid as his only destinations, young tricky, quick, in the wenger mould. would be about £14m.
Marouane Chamakh: Ye he's coming, don't deny it people. for freeeee.
Juste Abou: young, hungry, great on the ball, great passer, exactly what we like to see at the emirates. £1m.
plus lets not forget Samuel Galindo and Wellington Silva who will join us in July and January respectively. plus the promotions of Botelho, Nordtveit, Szczesny, Sunu and Lansbury.
out will go Senderos Silvestre Gallas and Merida on frees, Vela Wilshere Mannone and Watt on loans, and Traore(4) Fabianski(2) Eduardo(7) and Eboue(10). Also the regrettable possibility of Arshavin leaving, if he goes, expect us to retrieve our expenditure on him, namely £15m.
SQUAD
HART Almunia Szczesny
Sagna RICHARDS ZAPATA Djourou Vermaelen Campbell Nordtveit Clichy Gibbs Botelho
Song Denilson SISSOKO Fabregas Diaby Ramsey Rosicky Galindo Lansbury
Nasri Walcott Arshavin HAZARD Wellington
vPersie CHAMAKH Bendtner Sunu.

im also going out on a limb to say campbell, almunia, vela, djourou and lansbury will all leave at the end of next season.

Joe Cole has today rejected the offer from Manchester City to join them, which would have made him the best paid player in the Premiership. He liked the idea of the money (who wouldn't) but does not want to be seen solely as a money grabber.

This leaves 3 options – Staying at Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool.

Chelsea have shot themselve in the foot by dragging out negoitations and the rumours certain players joining (which will take Coles position) will not help, so would guess he is moving.

My guess would be Liverpool – In dire need of a left sided player, so will be first choice and they are well known 'generous' payers.

The Mancs will slip up re the salary he is looking for (c£120k p/w) {editor's note – Liverpool are actually well known for being stingy payers mate sorry. Torres earned half what he could have got at Chelsea, United or Arsenal when he joined, for instance.}

To the guy who started his post with –

'Barclays capital have given Rafa Benitez 30mil to spend this summer. With this budget he cannot sign 4 top quality players so he may have to wheel and deal again.'

BarCorp have been asked to help attract a buyer, with the sweetner being that £300m of funds are in place to assist, should the buyer both require the funds and be in a position to prove they can service the debt – They are not, repeat not, going to be throwing money at the club adhoc as Barclays do not own it or have (as yet) as share in the mighty reds, however, if my sources are correct, Barclays, along with Standard Charter (Liverpools new shirt sponsors) and an 'investor' from the middle east may be putting a take over package together – total in the region of: £600m.
The drawback – the new ground will have 'Barclays' in the name – The benefit – The two banks will run the club as a business, which incudes a new stadium(and both have an amazing track record) and the 'investor' will allocate funds for new players –––– simples !

Liverpool News –
Just re–enforcing a post on here yesterday(?) that said the sale of LFC was, in principle, agreed with DIC weeks ago – As noted, the only reason the current owners have gone public and put up the 'for sale' sign, is because DIC were dragging out the negoiations to see if the Reds hit 4th spot – Now DIC are convinced this will not happen, they have reduced the offer from an initial £550m to £520m and it is now very much a take it or leave it offer.
DIC have given the current board until the end of May to accept and WILL NOT increase the offer, even if a higher offer is made.
As a fan, I just hope that the board not only look at the price, but the 'promises' made in relation to building the stadium and funds for players – but I doubt it !

Liverpool WILL not attract the top players that are being touted on here, they have no prospects and no money.

Man City WILL get the top players IF they finish 4th.

Outside the Premiership, (hopefully in the Championship) Leeds will release Casper Ankergren and Andy Hughes, Beckford is obviously on his way to be replaced by Gary Hooper

20 Apr 2010 15:47:16
Whoever said that Man Utd is targeting Amauri, my source in the Italian media has said the same thing.

He also said that a bid has been submitted by Chelsea for Cavani who plays for Palermo's.

My GF is the personal assistant to The Financial Director to Arsenal Football Club.

Based on what she has told me is that Arsenal have about £55–60million to spend this summer. Board memebers are worried share prices within the club will fall if Arsenal fail to win any trophies and there have been several meetings where transfers are being discussed. One thing she mentioned is that seniors within the club are not happy with mr Wenger. They want him to spend but he has up until now kept faith in the Youth.

rumours circulating within the Finance Dept are that a Striker from spain will be arriving for the sum of £25million and A young playmaker from somewhere in France for about £20million. Apprently authorisation has already been given to purchase these players but no names where mentioned.

im thinking Benzema and Hazard. 2 world class players that will make a big difference. Also she has informed me that Fabregas is going to sign a new deal to make him the highest ever arsenal player at £125,000 a week.

Peterborough should sign york citys Richard Brodie who has banged in 30 goals this season to boost their attacking options. york would accept offers of around £150,000–£200,000

Wenger was close to signing C.Ronaldo when he was young..but missed out!
Wenger was close to signing Ronaldinho when he was young..but missed out!
he could also have signed Robinho at an early stage of his career and was also monitoring Benzema from a young age before he went off to Real Madrid. he has missed out on a lot of world class talent and that is why Wenger will be lodging a bid of £18m for the rising star Eden Hazard at the end of the season. Wenger doesn't want to miss the opportunity of signing a player who in less than 2 years is going to be talked about in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo. Hazard has already stated he wishes to leave only for Arsenal or Real Madrid. those of you that follow Ligue 1 will know Lille will demand figures as high as £18m for him.

Players to leave:
Fbianski, Senderos, Silveste, Traore, Gallas, Merida, Eduardo and the most surprising of allArshavin. heading to Real Madrid for £15m.

Players in:
Hart, Zapata, Campbell (extension), Chamakh and Hazard.

players coming through next season:
Jay Simpson, Nordveit. Wilshere. Botelho

players on loan next season:
Sunu, Vela, Coquelin and Eastmond

Barclays capital have given Rafa Benitez 30mil to spend this summer. With this budget he cannot sign 4 top quality players so he may have to wheel and deal again.

Leaving for definite will be Cavalieri, San Jose, Aurelio, Degen, Babel and Riera raising around 25mil.

Benitez will then target:

Aleksandar Kolarov (13mil + Plessis)
Juliano Belletti (free)
Danny Wilson (3mil)
Milan Jovanovic (free)
Stevan Jovetic (15mil)
Angel Di Maria (24mil)

Benayoun is also likely to leave for around 9mil and will probably be replaced by Lee Chung Yong for 7mil.

Benitez knows he needs quality but he cannot afford to spend 30mil on players like Villa who are nearing 30. Silva is also on the agenda but he may only want want to leave for Valencia for a club in the champions league.

with Sunderland looking either at Boruc of Celtic or McGregor of Rangers also Hutton to make his loan deal permanent for a fee of around £ 6 m

Man Utd Rumours
1 Benzema to United (he is young and SAF wants to build a team)
2 James Milner (also young 24)
3 Stéphane Sessègnon (playmaker and only 25)
4 David Silva (if real don't get him first)only 24

However Im sorry to say this as a united fan but if we don't have money to spend in the summer. We will not win any tropies for a long time. And may even miss out on the chanpions league in a few years

20 Apr 2010 13:16:44
To the ill–informed person who claims Carroll "wants'' to leave Newcastle. You are very wrong, he is a solid geordie through and through, i was at the plymouth match on the pitch invasion and Carroll was singing all of our chants with the fans, that doesn't look to me like he wants to leave. Truth about Newcastle is–
Outgoing:
Ryan Taylor (£1.5m) Championship club
Leon Best (£1.5m) Championship club
Xisco (£2m) Getafe or Zaragoza most likely
Steven Taylor (£6m) Everton, Arsenal or Tottenham
Fabio Zamblera (£1.8m) Roma
Fabrice Pancrate (Free) French club probably
Kadar, Tozer and Ranger out on loan to Championship clubs
With the £15m that Mike Ashley will give Chris Hughton to spend, the transfers on top will be £27.8m. So incoming shall be:
Jamie O'Hara (£5m) Tottenham
Juan Angel Albin (Free–Bosman transfer) Getafe
Charlie Austin (£1m) Swindon
Marc Wilson (£3m) Portsmouth
Habib Beye (£1m) Aston Villa
Fitz Hall (£3m) Permanent deal from QPR
That leaves £14.8m for January.
Nicky Butt will sign a one–year extension as a player–coach with the option of taking up a coaching role the following summer. Hughton will keep big name players, such as Nolan, Gutierrez, Enrique and Carroll.

20 Apr 2010 13:28:12
Not sure if there is much beef to this, but the reason Smith has steped down at the SFA is because he is leading the line in a scottish based consortium to buy Rangers, as i say not sure if there is any weight behid it although nothing would supprise me.

Glasgow Rangers hae offerd a pre–contract to Clarke Carlise of my beloved Burnely I hope the gentle giant stays with us.

20 Apr 2010 13:30:37
To all the people who post 'David James to West Brom'.. Why would this happen? Yes James is a good goalkeeper but Di Matteo clearly thinks Scott Carson is able enough in Premiership aswell as the fact he is captain! Also we already have Kiely who is of a similar age to James and signing him would be pointless. Expect to see a younger keeper signed as he will only be 2nd choice.. Maybe Boaz Myhill, Kasper Scmeichel.

20 Apr 2010 13:31:35
Martin O'Neil will be offered the Newcastle job for next season, top name on a five man list hovvering around SJP hierachy.

Carrick being sounded out about moving home to North East, only willing to pay £8m however due to limited budget, wages maybe the sticking point.

Harris Vukic, watch this name, next Prem Lge superstar, not sure how long he'll stay at Ncle however.

20 Apr 2010 13:32:06
Adam le fondre (Rotherham) has been strongly linked with Peterborough United who are prepared to pay £350,000 for the strikers services.

posh are also preparing deals for brightons liam dickinson, mark little from wolves who is currently discussing a contract and lee johnson has been strongly linked following his fathers recent appointed as posh's manager

20 Apr 2010 13:38:30
Robbie Keane to Newcastle, Hughton is using the old Irish link to try and lure him to St James's. Reliable source on this one so expect to happen.

Hi guys, just thought i'd share some info and shed some light on the whole takeover which is being bounced around concerning Liverpool and DIC.

When DIC was last interested in 2007, the initial interest stemmed from Sameer Al–Ansari who is a long time fan of the club. Before the whole recession DIC was doing quite well but recently their investments have dipped, they need to repay a $1.25 billion loan by June and also Sameer Al–Ansari has also now left his post of CEO.

I have been told by a very high official in the Royal office of Dubai that the proposal by DIC is a front for Sheikh Bin Rashid Al–Maktoum. DIC do not currently have the capacity to run Liverpool and so are acting on behalf of the Sheikh.

However if they are successfull, don't expect Liverpool to spend like City, he will be more conservative and buy young top class players with a view to making them great in the future. Theres also been talk concerning the stadium plans which they are interested in, and just like the tallest tower in the world (opened in dubai, 2010)they are looking to enlist the help of a uae based construction company with the same view to having it designed my none other than Giorgio Armani!!!

I HAVE ALSO HEARD THIS RUMOUR, UNITED WILL BID 30MIL FOR HIM, BUT IT IS EXPECTED TO BE REJECTED!

I've heared on numerous occasion's that Liverpool are linked with Higuian of Real Madrid and the rumour seems to be picking up some pace.

YNWA.

Have heard same rumour although this is what i have heard:

Karim Benzima – season long loan

This is for money owed on Alonso deal(a payment)
They don't want to lose him permantley but he has failed to settle. Liverpool need big name forward but no cash to get one.

James Milner – £20m Rafa long term fan of him and has enquired last 3 seasons over availability. This will be financed by sale of Aqualani back to AS Roma for around £15m

Gareth Bale – £10m Again long term target.

Jaun Mata px Reira plus £8m

Outs

Reira (absoulute garbage)
Aurelio FREE
Cavelliri £5m Benfica

Often speak to Martin Skrtel and he is quite happy at reds..see him at Woolton Village Tesco and he loves the city. His bird deffo wears kecks in that 1!

Norwich City: Couple of major players are heading out of Norwich:
Docherty is leaving on a free due to contract expiring.
The big surprise is that Lambert is willing to cash in on Hoolahan. Leeds seems to be the most likely destination, if they get promoted, with £1+ million being touted. Others interested are Coventry, Bristol City and Doncaster.

MAN UTD NEWS:

Sir Alex is trying to build a young team to get around the new "home grown" ruling so expect mostly youngsters with a couple of "marquee" signings. United have money to spend but not money to waste so are looking to get value for money, which is increasingly hard in today's market. they'll have there normal 20 mil budget plus sales, also some of the Ronaldo money is still there if a "special" player comes up, but is currently being kept for the new manager when he comes in. Expect all of United's deals to be done and dusted before the world cup because after which all players who have done well will have there asking prices doubled, remember El–Hadji Diouf(sorry liverpool fans, not intentionlly trying to upset you he's just the best example that currently comes to mind). so that being said let's move onto rumours.

Youngsters:
Chris Smalling
Javier Hernandez
(both already confirmed)
Roberto Firminio
Ramon Azeez
Marnick Vermijl
Uros Cosic
Haris Vuckic
Daniel Villaba
not all will sign but all will be bid for.

right onto the "Marquee" signings
only an Attacking Midfielder and Striker will be sought in the frame are:
James Milner(Favorite due to new home grown rules)
Steven Defour(well liked by Sir Alex, remember the get well soon letter sent to him.)
Luka Modric(unlikely if Spurs get 4th)
Milos Krasic(apparently his agent held talks with united when he was in england working on the jovanovic to liverpool deal)
Yohann Gourcuff(unlikely as it's expected to be a bidding war for him, but don't rule it out as Sir Alex has a good relationship with Blanc)

Hulk(has impressed Sir Alex and would be less expensive if his appeal against a 3 month domestic ban is not over turned)
Luis Suarez(well up on the list but maybe too expensive if a bidding war insues)
Karim Bezema(close on a deal last summer and hasn't setted well in madrid, they may want Vidic in a swap deal)
Mirko Vucinic(tried for last year, but he didn't want to leave this year he does, also Roma interested in Berbatov Swap maybe?)
Andre–Pierre Gignac(he's been scouted since he was 18 by United and after a not so great season his price has dropped)

Igor Akinfeev should join in January if not then one of Hugo Lloris, Manuel Neuer, David De Gea and Diego lopez will be signed next summer.

I posted on here yesterday that Barcelona will bid for Fernando Torres! This is what i have heard around my chambers, i have also heard since yesterday that his agent has held meetings with the Camp Nou officials. I have no reason to lie about this after all i have been a Liverpool fan for 52 years now, Torres leaving is the last thing that i would want. I grew up in Birkenhead but lived in Liverpool for many years, i never missed many games when i lived in England. My father took me to see them when i was seven and from then onwards i have loved my team unconditionally but sadly i do not get to watch them as often anymore.

I work in Barcelona as a Barrister, although i live just outside Barcelona. When ever there is a big Barcelona deal approaching we are usually one of the first to hear of it, we knew about the Ibrahimovich/Eto swap months before it happened. There is never much happening at Barcelona as they rely on their academy for players rather than spending cash on big stars but this is a massive deal and i thought it would be nice to share it with people. I shared this information with my nephew and he told me about this website, i have never seen a website quite like this one before i am impressed. I can also add that Ibrahimovic will be staying but Henry will be leaving.

I sincerely hope my colleagues and i am wrong, but i very much doubt!

Diego Cavalieri is not going to benfica he is being allowed to leave liverpool and return to brazil on compassionate ground , i believe one of his parents are very ill , the rest of your predictions sound about right but tomkins would be a mistake rafa needs to sign an established centre half , that's why we are in this trouble he continually goes for the cheaper option

Liverpool will be raiding West Ham for young Englishman James Tomkins. After being outbid for Kjaer, Gary Cahill being too expensive, Tomkins has hit the top of the list and Rafa will bid £8m for his services. Tomkins will replace the outgoing Martin Skrtel. Skrtel has not proved to be good enough for England and will try France with Marseille looking to bid for him for around £9m. Dida will also join Liverpool for free as Diego Cavalieri will be off to Benfica for £5m. Aleksandar Kolarov is looking odds on to sign for Liverpool before the World Cup. Rafa wants to do a deal with Lazio involving fringe players to sweeten the deal. Damien Plessis will arrive in Rome permanently and Krisztian Nemeth will go there on loan. Lazio will also get £11m for Kolarov. Albert Riera is going to return to Spain with Atletico Madrid. Atleti want to bolster their squad and will bid £7.5m for the troubled Spaniard. In his place, Rafa has shortlisted many names. Juan Mata is the top target, however he would cost £20m. Other targets are Charles N'Zogbia and Diego Capel, who would both cost £12m. Milan Jovanovic will also be brought in as cover for Torres, but another striker will be bought. £18m has been sidelined to sign a top class striker to partner Torres up front, with Rafa changing his formation to 442

Firstly in reply to the bloke who said

"PC GOoner you are an idiot. DAvid VIlla to sign? Behave! He's already said if he coming to the UK it will mostly likely to be Man U but as both Madrid and Barca tried signing him last year I expect him to stay in spain. As for Liverpool there will be cash and it will be an exciting summer."

valencia, as you know have a very diffucult financial situation and are going to be putting villa on the market in the summer since his value will deplete quite alot by next year.
in england he has always wanted to join liverpool and arsenal due to torres and fabregas being good freinds of his and some crappy player that plays for fulham i think who is his cousin.
arsene is supposedly going to "splash out" this summer with an estimated 55mil to spend not including the sales of players like rosicky and eduardo etc.
rafa will have upto 60mil in the summer (tough unlikely unless they get 4th). if they do liverpool will have the upperhand over arsenal getting the signing.

wenger is going to change the formation slightly next year by playing 4–3–3 but with 2 strikers and a centeral forward attacker (since arshavin and chamakh will play best in this position.
bendtner does not parnet well with van persie, eduardo is out of permanent form and will be sold or loaned. villa or an alredy established striker will be baught by arsenal to partner and replace rvp when (not if but when) van persie gets injured next season.

also do not say arsenal cannot afford villa his wages are too high etc. gallas (who is alredy getting payed almost the same as villa), fran merdia, silvestre, phillipe sanderos will leave on freebies in the summer. traore, vela, jack wilshire, mannone, and a few others will be on loan all season. fabianski, rosicky, eduardo, eboue, and clichy will be sold in the summer. meaning arsenal can have 10 david villa's on a plentyful wage sum and still make the same club profits as the last 5 years.

other arsenal transfers/ transfer targets
gary cahill
moroune chamakh
vidic (unlikely but still on wengers hitlist)
subotic
zarate
loic remy
van der weil
mohammed zidan (if villa bid fails)
eden hazard

robert green or possibly hugo lloris if arsenal retain 3rd place and gain enough money from their summer transfers. (note this summer will see the most amount of departures ever under wenger since he has stated numerous times the club needs big changes in the summer and alot of players just can't cut it here).
