I don't believe our club would be willing to do business with Evans. Also Leeds under it's current ownership may not be as attractive to a player as it once was.

More money being spent.

Is that all you can say? "More money being spent" there's a lot of clubs in the championship who has spend mega money. Look at the money Derby have spent and they still can't get a result.

Yeh but Burnley are the only ones moaning about it because they are not going to get top 2.

If they don't then they don't. You can't just buy your way into the premiership. Derby have just signed olsson from Blackburn. They have spent a rediculous amount of money and haven't won in 5 games. Anything can happen in championship!

This forum about Burnley fc rumours appear to be devolving into a critism forum about the club by persons who obviously have no interest in the club. If you fall into this category then please refrain from your juvenile activity and go to your own clubs forums, if you cannot be constructive then please don't be destructive. Middlesbrough will bring in four new faces before deadline day. Ross McCormack, Gaston Ramirez, Victor Lindelof and Matthew Philips. Due to the injury sustained by Friend, Husband will be recalled from his loan spell.
Outgoings will see Kike, Damia and possibly Albert Adomah.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2016 12:34:19
I hope so! But seems too good to be true. That Lindelof fella if what is said is true then he is just messing us about. Phillips had a good game i can't see him getting let go. Can Boro afford the right percentage of ramirez' wage? I think if we just land McCormack that wil be incredible!

25 Jan 2016 09:46:31
I'd send Amorebieta back after that awful performance against Forest and i wouldn't be too quick to sell Dami, defensively he is better than Nsue, Forest scored after attacking down the left hand side, past Nsue and forced Ayala out of position leaving Amorebieta and Kalas to stop a player who knows how to cause defenses problems, and needless to say his positioning for the goal was excellent, he appeared in the hole and punnished 2 defenders that haven't played enough this season to deal with that type of player.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2016 14:41:00
TC10. Kike is a trier but lacks top class finishing ability he is whole hearted and to me would suit playing two up front whereas we play one up front and he sometimes looks a fish out of water depending how much you pay is to wether he's a bargain or not. Any more than 2 million is to much but I do like him as a player.

The club need to pull their finger out and get these deals done soon in this window. we need some new faces before the next game ideally with a bit of time to train with the team beforehand. we need a ST, AM, DM and CB because outside of first 11 the options are appalling. Typically other teams are making decent signings early while we just mess about trying to barter waiting til the last day and losing out. If we don't buy a goalscorer some creativity and a cover CB and get rid of them carthorses nugent, kike and amorbieta we will not get promoted its as simple as. you can't ride your luck and win 1-0 playing garbage every game over a championship season as we found out end of last year. Learn from your mistakes Boro!

Gaston Ramirez Deal done, McCormack deal very close player has told Fulham he wants away.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2016 18:10:42
Ramirez - no longer a rumour, signed until the end of the season. He alone won't cure all our problems and has been struggling for form himself, but a loan deal where we are only paying a third of his wages is good business.
Still desperately need a striker that can score goals with some regularity, loan deal for Bamford looks most likely but would prefer we buy a proven, currently scoring striker, not another player struggling for form.
We don't need to panic yet, still in a good position, but that is the best time to recruit! UTB!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2016 18:19:01
Dorrans? Looks like a good bet, would be a good addition and the deal wouldn't break the bank, leaving funds for the striker we all know we need.

27 Jan 2016 11:22:41
Im not that happy with Ramirez I think there were better options and to be honest even though his form has dipped I think i'd rather play Fabbrini as from what I have seen of Ramirez last season for Hull you would get more out of Diego in a season in assists and goals. Hope he proves me wrong tho now he's here! If we can't get McCormack and Phillips move on and quick. there are plenty of good strikers that are much better than Nugent and Kike you can buy for 8mil. I would like to see us go for Anichebe and/ or Cameron Jerome. I hope to god we can recall Husbands back from loan too if we can't that's a horrendous mistake.

Would like to think that Ramirez will come good. If papers are to be believed Bamford is up for sale from Chelsea. Would spend my money on him who has a potential resale value in future years instead of spending money we won't get back in a couple of years on people like McCormack. Paddy knows how to score goals and knows the club and how we play. He could be the man to take us up imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2016 12:48:38
Ramirez should do well in this league he has a lot of ability and hopefully karanka can get the best out of him. He must he better than fabrini, fabrini is one of the worst players to ever put on a boro shirt and he should never of been anywhere near our first team he had no pace, strength and he couldn't pass the ball and just gave away possession more often than not so we are a stronger team with Ramirez instead of fabrini.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2016 13:16:54
I think Fab was a player who had glimpses of talent. His final ball or decisions left a lot to be desired. To say that Fabrini one of the worst players to have worn a Boro short is a silly comment. E. g Lee Dong-gook, Afonso Alves, Hamilton Ricard and Michael Ricketts. To name but a few. At least with Fabrini we didn't have to shelve out millions for his services. I wish him well!

28 Jan 2016 17:26:48
boro to maybe bring in Lidellof and that's it. dumbele to spurs means Mccormack deal off (regardless if transfer req) Rhodes to West Ham, or another premiership team but not to championship, Bamford to Norwich (has no interest in joining boro) best get some new rumours going!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2016 20:04:26
I think another new face will join before the window closes. It may or may not be a huge signing. For the price I would hijack the Gayle deal, 6.5 or 7 million up front, may be worth a go. Wouldn't be shocked if it was a player from a European league that hasn't been mentioned yet. I think it would be a mistake not to strengthen up front while we have the opportunity. Our new oracle of all things football may be working his magic as I type this. UTB.

I'm sure Gibbo as a fan as well as a chairman is well aware of what's needed to ensure premiership football next season. I think with the present squad it can be achieved. So far so good! Look at the next 6 games for the top 6 teams. We have the more favourable of fixtures as long as we don't take the results for granted. I think we'll be way ahead of our rivals if all goes to plan by mid to end of February. If we do sign McCormack or Rhodes then that would be great. Bamford would be better value for money on loan or permanant. I still think there's a few twists yet. The carrot of the premiership is far too great not to invest in it. Even if we only stay up for one season. Think of the parachute payments at worst! let's enjoy what's ahead of us. UTB!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2016 08:12:45
afraid to say I disagree, before people shoot me, I lice gibbo and what he's done for us past and present. I do believe though that we have the weakest first 11 out of the top 4. What we do have is spirit, but we lack ability, the back 4 is the best (granted) and Clayton outstanding, Downing should be but doesn't seem to be somehow and the rest are good players who would under normal circumstances be adequate for promition, however they are short of Hull, Burnley, and even Derby (who aren't at the races) in terms of ability. If we don't score first we lose I'm afraid, whereas the others have the ability to win from losing positions. Just my view but think we'll finish 4th. But just to reiterate I like both the manager and chairman, even the players, just don't think we're as good as the rest.

We're all entitled to our opinions but I feel that your a bit negative in a couple of your postings. You are right in the sense that they are individual players in the top 4 sides who may be better than those in the Boro team. Collectively its a different matter! The back 4 are the best in the division as the stats in goals conceded prove. let's not forget about Leadbitter and Clayton who are regarded as the best duo in the league. If Downing can get his act together it only leaves the strikers that are not really performing. I'm sure that Karanka is working on that at the moment. I bet you downing pulls his socks up after being taken off after 45mins against Forest. As I said let's see what happens over the weekend. I'm sure if the right players are available Gibbo will make the deals happen. Personally, I think Clayton and Leadbitter can be a bit negative at times but when they're not then we usually go on and win matches. E. G. Brighton. However recently or form has dropped, like all the other top teams have at one stage or another this season. I think that we'll bounce back regardless of who we sign. Who knows maybe its the transfer window that's unsettled the players. Some of them may be feeling a little insecure?

29 Jan 2016 10:13:12
I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years fabrini is without a doubt the worst attacking midfielder we have had in that time. He had a great game against Bolton but did nothing at all after that, just gave the ball away every time he got it and wasted many goal scoring opportunities due to his lack of awareness and inability to pass the ball. Btw richard scored the goals that pretty much gave us our safety in our return to the prem so he was important in that sense. Fair enough about alves and dong-gook but in boro's worst ever starting 11 it would be fabrini playing just behind alves and dong-gook or mido.

I blame karankas system. We don't need another striker, we just need the current strikers playing in a different system. Especially at home.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2016 13:26:40
I'll add to Warwickshire post we can't seem to break teams down at home we struggle to push them a side and win by more than 1 where as hull and the others are destroying them and moving on to the next game yeah granted we are winning a lot of games and beating these teams but I feel we have been lucky in quite a few games to be able to get away with a 1-0 or a 2-1.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jan 2016 13:44:12
Bubblegumkid, you're right I do swing towards the negative which is why its good to have some positivity around me! I just feel Karanka (who is a great manager imo) doesn't have the attacking talent at his disposal for this system. We don't have anyone that can really terrorise defences apart from Adomah who seems to be 1 in 4 this year. Hence we end up trying to do everything through Downing which is easy to read for defenders I feel. Stuani is a great finisher but not mobile enough to burst into the box with regularity from the right, plus he doesn't get great supply really from wide areas. My worry is that we get through on spirit and cohesiveness alone in a lot of games, if we or the opposition are lucky enough to nick a goal, that team usually goes on to win, not easy to rectify without spending millions. Not sure its anyones fault at the club, I just don't think we have the cash to rectify this issue. We've been great in the 1st half of the season but my gut tells me we don't have enough.
