More likely to be Carlisle after his last interview, stating he in constant contact with Carlisle recommending players, he is border line championship, he will join a championship or Carlisle

27 May 2013 21:26:17
John Sheridan will look too bring Jason Banton back to Plymouth Argyle after Crystal Palace's promotion to the Premier League. Banton knows that his first team opportunities may be limited.

Hope so good goalscorer

May be limited? He will not get a chance in the prem let alone championship!

28 May 2013 22:14:26
We need banton now
He would get greens in league 1

27 May 2013 21:08:31
Steve Bruce close to agreeing a deal for Serge Gakpe (FC Nantes).

Also looking at: Le Fondre (Reading), Cattermole (Sunderland) and figueroa (Wigan).

Reliable source!

Hi hull have no chance of getting cattermole.

Figueroa will go to a Spanish team. Reading want £7m for Le Fondre so if you don't cough up then you can shove it. Cattermole won't leave Sunderland when he is very much in their team

Blackpool look set to release Kevin Phillips, and according to Connells he is looking at houses in the Sherbourne area, Good signs for Yeovil, also been spotted at huish park last Wednesday.

He stated at the start of the year he was retiring at the end of the year, this may change if Palace offer him a contract as he might like another got at the Premier league

28 May 2013 09:04:21
Phillips and his wife also renovate houses.

He was even in the londo area yesterday. Must be signing for chelsea or was it because he was playing at wembly

Kevin phillips would be a great signing for yeovil great sub

Isn't he retiring? {Ed029's Note - He said after the play-off final if Blackpool offered him a contract it would be very difficult to turn it down. Holloway also confirmed his intent to keep him at the club.

Brighton's manager Poyet now part of a two horse race to become new boss at at either Stoke, or Macib Tel Aviv.
Tel Aviv are in the Champions League, so Stoke will have their hands full getting Poyet now.

Brighton fans just want Poyet gone.

Tim Sherwood number one target for Brighton.

Only as far as the qualifiers. Stoke (Premier League - good financial backing) or Tel Aviv? No contest.

We need a Spanish manager

Tim sheer wood has never managed a team

Absolute rubbish. Gus Poyet will have NO interest in managing in Israel. Even with Champions League football, the league standard is terrible. Brighton fans don't want Poyet gone. They just want this managerial no mans land ended so the team can be strengthened over the summer.

The longer Poyet is suspended the less time Brighton have for transfers. If I was Tony Bloom I would sack Poyet and bring in a new manager fast.

28 May 2013 10:08:19
poyet needs a bigger club than brighton
he took them as far as he could

You are right, Tim Sherwood has NEVER managed a team. nor had Gus Poyet when he joined Brighton and took them to their highest league finish in 30 years.
Brighton have suspended Gus until he decided to resign or another team come in form him. Brighton will not sack him as they'll have to pay him off. Bloom will stand his ground and get someone temporary if need be. All the time Gus is on full pay he has no argument. Bloom is a professional poker player and this shows typical card player tactic by letting your opponent play the first card!

Stoke had Tel-Aviv in their Europa League group last year and trounced them home and away. Woeful standard of football. No money knocking about out their, no chance of putting you name in for big jobs. Would do his career no favours at all.

If poyet can't take a championship club further where will he take a prem club?

If poyet can't take a championship club further where will he take a prem club?

An I the only one who wants him to stay look what he has done for us I'll only want someone else if its Roberts di matteo

And loook at other managers who got us to the championship at the withdean. Gus was very lucky getting the brighton job at a time aur fortunes changed. Now bring an experianced manager to take us to the next level

Any AFC Wimbledon transfer rumours?

Common any rumours?

Any news on the Warren Cummings situation, hoping he leaves

Left back/winger Daniel Jones to turn down Port Vale's contract offer and sign for Oldham, having previously spent time there on loan.

Is that the Daniel Jones who signed a new contract last week?

Please do your homework befor writing stupid comments, last week he signed 2 year deal with vale

He's signed a contract extension the day before. Why would he even think about joining Oldham.

No he is isint! A couple of days ago he signed a new 2 year contract!

Do try and keep up with facts not unfounded speculation

We have a far better LB in Jonathan Grounds who came for Middlesborough.

Doubt that he is better than Jones.

Bristol City to announce the signings of up to 8 players during this pre-season, this due to the mass exodus of players leaving BS3 close season.

Many more are to follow with contracted fan favourites Adomah, Cunningham and Davis all looking for quick returns to the championship but will go for decent fees. Adomah linked with Cardiff/Blackpool was subject to bids during the season from newly promoted Crystal Palace. The interest may return again.

In at the west country club look to also interesting as signings now must fit certain criteria, with defensive midfielder Wynter signed from Arsenal, Aden Flint is expected to complete his move from Swindon Town this week.

Burton Albion's out-of-contract Maghoma looks to be turning away offers from Swindon Town and Port Vale amid interest from Bristol. The winger is highly rated and could be seen as a long term replacement for out-bound Adomah.

Bristol also have an unwanted problem, in which they find themselves with no senior goal keeper on the books. Hartlepool Keeper Flinders looks to be on the Ashton Gate wanted list but is highly rated by other clubs as well. Not retained by Doncaster, goalkeeper Gary Woods looks to be snapped up on a fee regardless of the Flinders situation.

Other names linked with Bristol City are Stevenage pair Luke Freeman and free agent Dunne, also Sheffield United's Harry Maguire looks to be a possible transfer target.

One striking option could be the man they call JET, he's nothing like a Jet fighter but can, when on form play football quite well. Jay Emmanuel Thomas. He's a free agent and Sean O'driscoll has had him before at Doncaster. Where he showed arguably his best form.

I am not a Bristol City, Stevenage, Doncaster, Sheffield United, Hartlepool etc. Just a football writer.

Maghoma has signed for boro

No chance for all, I'm a blades fan and we turn down Newcastle for Maguire

Dunne's not a free agent

Jay Emmanuel Thomas is not a free agent. He has been told that he can look for another club but has 12 months remaining on contract, so ITFC are looking for a fee.

I really do think Sean odriscal will bring the right sort of players to Ashton gate but he still needs to get rid of the rubbish that is left like Neil Kilkenny and Richard foster

27 May 2013 20:58:21
Accringtons Lee Molyneux is set to sign for Bradford as a replacement to Kyel Reid. The left back to winger impressed Phil Parkinson with his 9 goals last season.

Bradford have activated a years extension clause in Reid's contract so there will be no 'replacement'.

27 May 2013 23:43:41
This would be a great signing every time I saw him score them crackers on football league show I was hoping we would sign him for next season

Get him in. One of the best left foots I've seen in a long time! Back to back promotions here we come!

27 May 2013 20:51:24
Bristol city have had a 180k bid accepted for James dunne and have agreed personal terms for centre back aden flint who should be announced by Wednesday

27 May 2013 20:47:40
Yeovil Town looking to sign 24 Scottish midfielder Steven McGinn after his stint at Watford.

Would be a good move for him

Quite possible. Shrewsbury or Yeovil? The answer is not hard.

Very possible and good luck to him. Horrible injury at the worst time for the lad.

He seems to have done well at Shrewsbury and I hope wherever he ends up, he gets regular games and stays injury free

27 May 2013 20:38:14
Ryan babel's reps currently at the Dorchester hotel London finalising a deal to take Ryan to Fulham

Stekelenburg will join fulham for 3.2m by Friday

Darren bent wants to move back to London & should finalise a move to the cottage within a fort night.

Chadli & leroy Fer are being hunted along with Huddlestone

Bent hit a snag, Villa saying they won't except anything less then 8mil now. Chadil and Fer not coming over. Huddlestone may still happen but only if the price is less then 5mil

Bent hasn't hit a snag that deal is still on. Fer mat come but Chadli is almost certainly going to Shaktar Donetsk.

Always rumours of ryan babel to fulham.

Always Chadli rumours, too. Stekelenburg is coming, Huddlestone probably, but nothing to get excited about!

27 May 2013 20:09:23
Bradford city showing interest in nicky bailey and Scott wagstaff ex pp players

27 May 2013 20:06:48
McInnes quoted in the local evening paper last week that he is looking at 6 players; goalie, defender, 2 centre mids, a striker and a wide man.

Confirmed are Flood, Robson and Sutton. Gordon pondering an offer. No idea yet who the wide man or defender will be, but will let you know as soon as.

27 May 2013 19:58:56
Brentford to sign:
Tom Adeyemi - Norwich - Loan
Bradley Wright-Phillips - Charlton - Free
Bilel Mohnsi - Southend - Free

Bwp won't go for free.

Don't know about the other rumours but the Adeyemi rumour is wrong.

BWP will go for free - out of contract

Why would the Adeyemi rumour be wrong he has already said he hasn't ruled out a permanent move to Brentford

Adeyemi? Loaned from who, his parents?

BWP is out of contract so no fee

28 May 2013 11:01:38
Obviously pure, un-informed speculation. Adeyemi is a free agent, if you knew anything concrete rather than guessing, you would know this and therefore realise a loan is not possible.

Adeyemi has been released by Norwich, so who are they going to loan him from?

Bwp and tom are out of contract, so they would be free.

Adeyemi has left already

28 May 2013 12:54:26
Adeyemi won't be a loan he's a free agent

BWP is right Adeyemi has been released from Norwich so how can he be loaned and Bilel Moshni not too sure about

I doubt Chris Powell Will sell bwp for free seeing as we just released two first team strikers?

Why would Bradley wright Phillips drop down a league when he is about to get first team football next season? Charltons manager just released 2 first team strikers so either he's going to sign a striker or play bwp. Most likely he's going to play him as he was sent out on loan to get his form back.

But BWP hasn't been offered a contract and his contract expires at the end of June. He has fallen out with Chris Powell. When signing on loan for Brentford he said he was glad to be at a club where he is wanted.

Fair enough but I'm just saying, if we don't offer him a contract I think we're in the sh!ts a bit. We don't have the money splash out on a new striker. Just released danny Haynes because we couldn't afford his wages.

Released Haynes because he could stay injury free for more than a couple of games. The same with Fuller. Why pay the wages for a few good games followed by a number of games on the sidelines!

27 May 2013 19:56:38
Gillingham are interested in Dagenham's Femi Ilesanmi.

27 May 2013 22:44:31
Hope so. Best full back seen at priestfield last season

27 May 2013 20:27:34
Burnley and Leeds to battle it out for Southampton striker Billy Sharp who is valued at 1M by the Saints

I think he is coming to forest

His value seems to drop every time a new rumour about him is posted. Surely with more competition his value should increase not go down.

He's joined Accrington Stanley on a season long loan deal so he will not be sold.

Billy Sharpe should he not be required by Southampton may be joining Forest at 1.2 mil a fee agreed in the terms of last seasons loan.

He hasn't joined accrington stanley. it was a wind up!

Anyone else going to quote the old milk advert?! ;-)

28 May 2013 09:51:25
If you don't believe me then check Billy Sharp's twitter yourself.

He has not joined Accrington Stanley on season loan, that was a joke. They would never be able to pay his five figure wages and Southampton have not had an approach about the prospect of him being signed. It was all just out of him going out and having a few too many drinks with James Beattie.

I think the accy thing is just a touch of humour lads

Sharp to have talks with Saints about his future, love to see him given a chance, he's a real poacher, just what we need, and remember how many people said Rickie would not make the step up, he had a chance and took it, let's hope Billy gets his chance to do the same.

Billy's tweet "joke" will go down like a lead ballon with Cortese. Still, we all do stupid things.

28 May 2013 12:22:55
The twitter message he put out was a joke because he met James beattie in a casino in las vagas he won't be dropping down to league 2

He is set to have talks with Mauricio Pochettino, he could decide to keep him, so he might be going anywhere.

He's going to forest

The amount of time Saints spent in and around the opposition box this season without any one having a shot, and we have Billy Sharp on our books, we should have dragged him back from Forest after the first couple of weeks. He wasn't given the chance to prove himself in the prem, but he is the sort of poacher that would have taken his chances when they came, and Saints missed that badly, I hope he stays and is given a chance to show what he can do, every one said Lambert couldn't step up, and look what happened to that theory!

Swansea City transfer targets:

Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang
Arouna Kone
Jose Canas
Maynor Figueroa
Marcos Alonso
Tom Ince

Out off all them players stated, the Relagated boys is the only players the swans got a chance of getting, all the big boys are sniffing around the rest.

How many times does this have to be mentioned. Swans have a chance with all pf the above. Laudrup is a star. People want to play for him. Not everyone is a money grabbing bench warmer.

Firstly, Marcos Alonso is off to Fiorentina (or Hull, read the news!).

Figueroa is a good signing (on a free) for any team, relegated or not.

Ince will likely head to pool given the chance (which can be high as Rodgers seems content in either sniffing around our players or aiming for our targets).

Canas is pretty much ascertained and should be confirmed within the next week.

And why is it only the relegated ones you think we have a chance of? No, we're not the biggest team by any means but we have no debts and fantastic prospects; even for those wanting to use us as a stepping stone so Pierre is most certainly plausible as would Kone be.

Personally, I hope the Wigan lads stay with their club, footballers showing loyalty is a rare thing these days and something I take my hat off too (not that I wouldn't accept them in our team however).

Next season should be a testament to the direction the club are moving in!

Don't see Alonso or Ince being a target. Alonso was during the January window but he looks Fiorentina bound and I suspect that young lad from R. Betis is a more realistic attacking target than Ince

Swans have a great chance of signing all the players listed however they wouldn't want to, aubamayang and canas are the most likely and both want to play for swans because of laudrup and europa

27 May 2013 20:14:50
Rory Delap To Sign for Peterborough United on a free transfer as been released from Stoke City and said he would be prepared to drop down the leagues to play

Lol to old for Peterborough but thanks anyhow

But fergie jr has reliased he needs a bit more experience in the team and can't always rely on the youth and the lower league players if he wants to make a success as a championship manager

A league one club turning their nose up at Rory Delap? Absolutely ludicrous! Solid pro, and still has good fitness. So much to offer to a team like Peterborough, especially after relegation.

With having the second youngest squad in the football league, and two years of playing in the Championship under their belt, I cannot see the need to start recruiting older players. we are well equiped to go straght back up, It's not as if we came down on a poor run of form, in fact we were in play-off form from December onwards.

If he wants to join, I'd welcome him in

Very very unlikely that we would pay bigger wages after losing £5m when relegated than we did before. Also Delap's long throws do not suit the posh team even slightly where nobody really heads the ball

We don't lose five million from relegation, it's not like the day we went down it was - £5m from the coffers. That my friend is work of the club and the spin doctor stories that leave it.

Wouldnt fit our style of play unless we decide to keep and play Tyrone Barnett more often as he is the only player capable of winning a header

Starting Barnett though means splitting up the very successful Tomlin and Gayle parntership though

30 May 2013 01:11:14
Barnett listed and dmac stated on twitter we not interested in delap

27 May 2013 20:14:29
Shay Given is set to have his contract at Aston Villa cancelled and is linked with a move to West Ham United.
Stoke City are close to appointing Mark Hughes and the former Blackburn and Manchester City manager is also keen on the experienced Irishman.

If he's wanted there's no point cancelling his contract, just sell him as you would any other player.

All the Mark Hughes rumours have not come from Stoke who are still keeping very tight lipped about it.

His contract isn't being terminated - he's being allowed to leave in a deal in which the amount of appearances he makes will determine the total overall price.

I won't take anything away from Given he is a good keeper but can't see him getting in with Butland, Begovic and Sorenson still there as well as Eve and Nash (leaving) we don't need 5 or 6 keepers

Given is joining Hull for £1m

27 May 2013 20:09:51
Andy mangan
set to sign for bury next week

He signed for Forest Green on a 3 year deal on May 16th.

He's just signed for Forest Green?

Already signed for Forest green

27 May 2013 19:51:15
Leeds to try and sign troy deaney from Watford for 2m as hull are about to snatch adam Le fondre from under their noise.

Leeds haven't made any noise

Hahahaha

Outsung watford fans but that's not hard is it

Why would deeney leave watford to go to a team like leeds? one of the worst rumors I have ever heard

Deeney doesn't want to leave Watford. If he did he'd go to the Premier League or into a play off placed team, not 15th place.

What has that to do with transfers?

Deeney is not going anywhere unless it is a PL club offering a large sum of money.

28 May 2013 16:22:51
Deeney won't leave, especially as we got to a Wembley final and Zola, the Pozzo family are building for the future! Deeney is fundamental to the side!

28 May 2013 17:40:34
leeds finished 13th this season. and can outsing any crowd in the country. one city one team

Get you're facts right leeds finished 13th not 15th

I'm sure the Pozzo's would sell Deeney at the right price, they are quite happy to sell 3 or 4 Udinese stars every year. Whether Leeds can afford him or he would want to go is another matter. £2M is a paltry sum for a 20 goal Champ striker.

Watford won't be force next season as they won't be able to have the loan players that they had this season

The Pozzo's rejected a £12m bid for Vydra in the Janurary transfer window from a PL club, Deeney is going nowhere.

He must be #itk with that spelling.

Just fell off my chair reading this rumour.

Any Watford, Udinese or Granada player is for sale. at the right price. The Pozzo family only accept good money for their players. You couldn't even buy Deeney's tattoo's for £2M

27 May 2013 19:35:29
Daryll Duffy has been offered the chance to return to Falkirk next season

27 May 2013 19:32:12
Millwall have been given permission to speak to former boss Mark McGhee about becoming their new manager.

Permission from who? He's out of management even though he's Scotland no2.

27 May 2013 19:26:58
Wycombe midfielder Stuart Lewis is attracting the interest of League 1 clubs: Stevenage & Gillingham.

Doubt Gillingham would have him back. Was good when we had him, but got better players now.

28 May 2013 00:15:45
Cant see him going to gillingham. Gills been linked with better players who have had more experience playing in higher leagues

27 May 2013 19:23:46
Sergio Torres set for a return to Wycombe Wanderers. Striker Scott Rendell is also set to be reunited with former teamate, now manager - Gareth Ainsworth, who is believed to be a big fan of Rendell.

27 May 2013 18:39:05
Following the promotion of Crystal Palace today, here are some of the names currently being linked with the club:
Tom Ince (replacement for Wilfried Zaha)

Some off the names being linked and you name 1 player? On top of that you we got no chance off getting ince with the big boys sniffing around.

Since when was 'some' one, and considering Ince is wanted by top 8 teams he ain't going to palace

Maybe I say he could chose palace because of holloway and they should bring in matt phillips and baptiste

Ince would be perfect, but won't happen unless its a loan. Same would go for blackpool's Phillips.

I would be happy with either one.

28 May 2013 07:31:03
You have to give hollerway credit watford perhaps with some of the best footballers in the championship were 2nd best through his tactics. The team spirit he seems to have built is amazing. Great interview by Paris, the club look to be in safe hands.

28 May 2013 09:01:10
Odemwingie could be a target as he was wanted on loan in january by Holloway and he does have a hard on for London clubs.

27 May 2013 18:17:01
swindon have been offered razak and henshall on a season long loan from man city. down to macdonald wether they fit in his plans as city will pay part of the wages as vierra wants city youngsters to get experience playing in league. city likely to loan out many youngsters this season as they want youngster to come back to eithad capable of pushing for places in main squad

Not sure about this, but as an STFC Fan, I'd be more than happy for them both to join, Henshall once STFC Aswell

27 May 2013 17:37:21
Tom Ince going to Palace to replace Zaha.

Didnt take long for stupid palace rumours

Oyston will not let Holloway have Ince!

27 May 2013 17:35:40
Rotherham are wanting gary madine on a season long loan.

Please take him. Oh hold on you wouldn't sell us Le Fondre so NO

Could be true.

27 May 2013 22:53:34
Would be a great signing but I just can't see it happening

Wouldn't sell you Le Fondre? You offerd 100k, why on earth would we accept that?

The reason le Fronde never came to you is because you could nt afford him
MALTBY miller

27 May 2013 17:56:02
Colin Cooper has eyed Rene Howe as the striker Hartlepool need next season

27 May 2013 17:51:57
Bilel Mohsni rejects offer from Rotherham and is set to sign for Crawley after leaving Southend.

Rotherham have never been after him. Evans has stated he wants a winger and 2 strikers

We never wanted him but mohsni wanted to have a trial at the club and evans told him NO

He can play any where, don't blame rejecting evans cause he treats his players poorly

Evans one big target is Kyle McFadzean. He will pay the £1m plus that Crawley want for him, and Fadz is happy to move back to Yorkshire

McFadzean isn't worth a million and Rotherham won't be paying that. We have enough CBs with Mullins been a reserve and he's a good player in himself to have as a reserve if he doesn't play RB.
Rotherham are after 2 strikers and a winger, not a defender.

McFadzean, as poss, parents live in sheff, and his younger brother at sheff utd, he would be a great add to the squad,

27 May 2013 16:59:26
Dortmund to sign de bruyne

27 May 2013 16:43:10
Bury will appoint ex-Chester manager Mark Wright as football director on July 1st. His first signing will be ex-bury legend Ryan Lowe who worked under Wright at Chester City.

Really worried a out this supposed takeover from various things I've heard.

Wrexham all over again : (

How can you be worried about a take over?. The club is lucky to be solvent right now after the last season of over spending.

Wrexham are still in business. My only concern is the Vaughan link to the take over.

The vaughan family ran Chester City some years ago and I don't want any of their family or footballing people at Bury fc.

27 May 2013 16:22:02
Jamie Cureton and Luke Rooney set to sign for Cheltenham this coming week. Chairman today confirmed decent money available to Yates to secure promotion.

27 May 2013 18:23:14
If you want to sign those two, promotion won't happen. Cureton is too old and Rooney is not nearly good enough, and would struggle to hold down a place in a conference side. Swindon sent him on loan to several sides in L2 last season, and not once did he get a run in the side and they all sent him back

Sorry Alan Hansen.

Funny, a lot of people said McGlashan couldn't finish his dinner, yet when he moved to Cheltenham in January he struck 2 goals to take us to the play-offs.
People also said that Summerfield was a dead horse, and that Sam Deering was an awful player to buy.
Cureton finished second highest scorer last season, so age has bugger all to do with it.
Rooney is a very good young player. Likes to get forward and get the ball in the box.

Please stop believing you are Jose Mourinho.

Real life football is different to your game of Football Manager.

Cureton is a decent enough player, scored plenty of goals in League 2 last season despite veteran status, however CTFC will be looking for a big target man.

What is the source saying CTFC have decent money to secure promotion? One of the best run clubs nowadays in terms of finances, I very much doubt they would push the boat out on Cureton's wages.

Paul baker said it

Hmm. depends how you define "decent money" - I'm sure it's more than MY has had in previous seasons but don't bet on a raft of high-profile signings.

Don't understand why people think we wouldn't be able to afford Cureton's wages! Exeter wouldn't be paying loads more, if more at all than what we could offer him! He'll be 38 after a few weeks of the season so PB and MY aren't going to pay more than they think he should be offered! It's not a case of not being able to afford his wages its a case of how much they think he should be paid!

27 May 2013 16:21:06
Hull city interested in arouna kone but swansea are favourites

27 May 2013 20:16:55
Why is everyone assuming Wigan players are going to move?, I accept they want to play Premier League football, but they are FA Cup Champions and will play in Europe against sides that the majority of teams in the Premiership will never play. Financially, Wigan are only one of two or three sides that made an operating profit last season and witht he money of Mr Whelan they clearly do not need to sell.

Kone has been all over his twitter account saying he is not leaving, as have Maloney and McManamman. The only one who is moving for sure is McCarthy who would be moving on anyway. Why would these players want to move to Norwich, Hull, Swansea etc. If Spurs, Liverpool come knocking the fair enough, but Hull and Norwich, do me a favour.

Swansea want a cheaper target if possible.

(MONEY)!!!!!

28 May 2013 09:56:44
Huw Jenkins has more money than you think he just afraid to use it

Wigan made a £7.2m loss in the their last filed accounts and are currently carrying a net debt of £72.2m. They may not need to sell, but to suggest they trade at a profit is completely inaccurate.

Why stay at wigan

We also made profit last season, we are also playing in Europe, we are also playing in the premier league

Why would them players want to move to hull or norwich I think there bigger clubs than wigan look at there support there might of been turning profit in the prem because of away support but a few seasons in the championship there will be skint

Why do wigan fans think that their players are too good for promoted or bottom half pl sides? they got relegated, and have struggled to stay in the league for the past 5 years. If teams like liverpool wanted a wigan player, then they'll be there to fill the bench. I tihnk the fancy football is covering up the cracks of a poor side and a poor manager

27 May 2013 16:19:45
Big Mick looking at Murray Davidson of Saint Johnstone soon to be out of contract and Kenny McLean of Saint Mirren for Ipswich Town.

Old news

Just because it's old news doesn't mean that it won't necessarily happen.

Davidson signing for rangers

27 May 2013 16:13:30
Chris McCann, recently released by burnley, is wanted by norwich leeds blackpool peterboro doncaster and wolves.

burnley plan on signing nick powell on loan from man united to replace him.

Word on the street of Burnley is that chaplow and fox will be joining burnley from southampton with austin going the other way. Burnley will also recieve 4million pound too.

wells of bradford is set to join burnley to replace austin and burnley are after centre half Harlee Dean and midfielder Harry Forrester from brentford after they failled to gain promotion. marvin bartley will join brentford in return.

I'd be a happy claret with Powell on loan, Chaplow, Dean and Forrester in with Bartley and Stock leaving.

27 May 2013 17:45:34
4 million? You've missed a 1 off because saints would have to pay us to take those 2 back

Nick Powell- would love him at the club but everything Manchester United based is up in the air at present with the transition from Ferguson to Moyes so better to write this one off.

Chaplow- possible, looks like he'll be allowed out of Southampton on a free but is he too settled in the south to want to head back "home"?

Fox- Unlikely; purely because of the wages he'd demand and the fact that we have 4 fullbacks at the club already. With our limited resources we cannot afford another leftback until we've got rid of at least 1 (Mills) and converted another (Mee) back into a centreback.

Wells- very possible but dependant on Austin being sold quickly I'd have thought.

Dean / Forrester- we've been tracking them for quite a while, Dyche seems fairly keen on them and they'll be cheap so could well be something in this one!

Feel like the norwich rumour is just being used to make him seem like he's desired in the prem, so a championship team will snap him up. doubt there's any interest in him from norwich, just released much better than mccann

We'll pay you to have fox.

Chaplow was great for us in the championship. He'd be a real asset to Burnley.

Forrester will go for free but Dean is still under contract so anyone will have to pay big to get him.

Deal on the cards if all parties (inc players agree)

Charlie Austin to Soton

Billy Sharp
Richard Chaplow
Danny Fox
plus £ 2 million to burnley

You may get Chappers and Fox but not Sharp.

^^ i'm a bfc fan and I would be happy with that deal :) doubt it would happen though

As a bfc fan I actually think without fox 3mil and those two is a great bit of business. Would make us much stronger

Saints would not swap 3 of our players and 2 million for a championship striker, we have a lot more ambition than that

Well you signed a championship striker last season for 7-8 million, 1 season in the prem and you think your the next man united, more ambition than signing a championship player iv heard it all now!

6million Rodriguez who has had a great season, just look 3 goals 4 assists in 3 games sums it up. Ambitions are great for a football club also if your ambition is to stay in the championship then oh dear. Also just think about the time where we were in league 1 3 years ago and look at us now ambitions hey.

Every team in every league has ambition. Including burnley

And no it was definitely 8.5 million it says on the clubs accounts

27 May 2013 16:11:51
Saint Mirren offered one verbal offer bye a championship club for Scotland under 21 midfield man Kenny McLean. And have had other teams from that level scouting him according to STV sport. Might be Burnley who have been linked with him.

Ipswich town

Harry Forrester really isn't anything amazing

Why would a premiership team like norwich who are looking at players like van ginkel and signing players like van wolfswinkel be interested in a bang average championship player like Chris McCann?

27 May 2013 16:08:26
Rotherham Utd looking at Morecambe striker Jack Redshaw.

Shrewsbury are in talks with Rotherham duo John Mullins and lionel ainsworth after both having a excellent season

Mullins has had a great season, he's now a 3rd choice CB though. Ainsworth has been put on the transfer list and wasnt so good.

Redshaw is poor, Rotherham want a striker not a sunday league player. We have put in a club record fee for a striker, not for a poor player.

Considering he is a Sunday league player he has not done that bad scoring 16 goals in league 2 last season.

Redshaw has had a better goal to gametime ratio than Tom Pope in his first season as a league player - in which he was still getting used to league football.

He's only 22 and will only get better. Next season, he'll be a top scorer in L2 and have bigger clubs than Rotherham after him.

Mk dons to sign Scott Wagstaff and 6 other players by the end of June. dean Lewington and Adam chicksen to sign new contracts and Ian Mcloughlin to sign for Walsall.

Only a masochistic player would want to join us at MK, we are going nowhere, again.

:- (

Wagstaff close to signing 4 walsall

Sensible Wagstaff.

Walsall fan here, would love wagstaff to join us and ian from mk dons to good young signings

To everyone going on about mk dons are so terrible will you shut up? we just missed out on the play-offs you seem to forget we are keeping our big players who got injured this season, we have everything here to be a big club players know that, so don't think we won't sign anyone and just go backwards due to one average season. typical mk dons fans.

Aha! Another one of the B. O. B. (Blithe Optimist Brigade).

Ok then Mr. Optimist, what happens if our "big" players are injured or suspended again this season? We have a good starting 11 but absolutely no depth (can't even fill the bench) and we have no prolific striker. We're showing no signs of signing anybody, all the noises coming from Robbo (and therefore Winkelman) is that it'll be an even tighter budget with the emphasis on kids (who will be sold if they're any good), probably a few loans (always a dodgy tactic as they could be recalled), and very few, if any quality players being drafted in. On top of that we have a great stadium with meagre crowds (white elephant so far), a dreadfully dead atmosphere, and the competition this year will be fierce.

Winkelman and Robbo talk a great game and bang on all the time about what a great setup we have, facilities etc. , "we're on the up" blah blah blah! Yet every season since 07/08 we've failed to deliver on all this so called "ambition". Yeah, we really are going places, sadly the Championship isn't one of them!

Now, explain how you can be so optimistic?

When you say "typical MK Dons fans", does that mean the majority of us are like me and therefore not "proper fans" like you?

It's not everyone, it's the one person who always ends his posts with :- (.

AFC troll, no doubt.

The two post above yours are from me, the person who puts the ":- (" at the end of my posts.

I can assure you I detest AFC and all they represent. I first got into the old WFC in 1991, so no, I am not a disgusting AFC troll.

I just get VERY pi$$ed off by the childish optimism with nothing to back it up. The proof will be in the pudding and I will be as astonished as a man unwittingly bedding a ladyboy if we challenge for promotion next season!

:- ( {Ed003's Note - good lord!}

Even the good lord himself would have difficulty with us Ed!

James Forrest Celtic and Scotland winger, lined up bye Spurs to replace Bale if he leaves. THE METRO

Celtic fan here. Wee james defo has potential but he is no where near ready to replace bale lol

27 May 2013 20:50:44
Rangers and Scotland fan here, he will if he starts diving more. Great wee player credit to Celtic, we need to do more to bring through guys like this for the future. Spurs have been watching him for two years, thought it was just Redknapp that scouted him. How ever they have been keeping sending there scouts north.

If so he may go for around 9 mill and think Celtic would take that with little thought. He is a youth player that we molded, great player and young so has some time to be a bale

27 May 2013 15:54:41
cardiff have signed gary lavery from a club in Ireland, he is 17, malky is building for the future

He is 16

Hope this isn't true we need 2 build 4 now!.

In the championship

Yeah we need to build for now, but he is also building for the future, that is just as inportant

27 May 2013 15:57:28
adam morgan to go onloan to preston from Liverpool also Declan rudd will sign a season long loan from Norwich to preston, stuckmann to sign a two year new contract also lee croft to sign for preston

27 May 2013 15:55:55
Bury assistant manager Peter Shirtliff is set to lose his job at Gigg Lane following the takeover. His replacement is set to be former Chester full back Stephen Vaughan jnr who has been coaching in Malta recently.

That would be good news, never rated him as a manager or assistant.

Vaughan will not be at Bury in any form.

27 May 2013 15:50:07
Celtic looking at James McClean the Northern Irish international from Sunderland for £2 million, according to a web site. Does this mean that wee Di Cannio wants to raid his former club for James Forest?Or does it just mean he is replacing the Derry Pele Paddy McCourt?

I think you`ll find McClean is a Republic International, who happens to be from Northern Ireland.

2m? he's worth at least 4m, had a good start to the season in the best league in the world, just lacking confidence.

27 May 2013 20:54:01
Forgot that he jumped ship, should fit in well at Celtic then. Since they have a history of Glasgow lads wanting to play for them to. Thought 2 million was cheap to, but look at the players Man United let go last year. Guys like O Shea and Brown for around the same price. Who had a history of playing for them in Europe. German football is the best in the world, we are not talking about that.

Best league in the world? Didn't know he played in Germany. :p

28 May 2013 02:04:57
We should take their hands off. I know plenty people who'll drive him up too.

I would take the 2m. we should play johnson and sess on the left and right with 2 upfront

27 May 2013 14:39:00
Lee Barnard won't be returning to Oldham he will sign for Brentford instead.

Oldham do not want barnard, can't see him going to brentford either the wages he is on are off your radar, Makes you laugh the stuff spouted out on this site haha

Thank goodness! I know you'd expect it from a striker but very hit and miss with the emphasis on the latter! Gaffers

3 goals in 14 games so he won;t be coming back.

Off our radar with our multi millionaire owner yep okay then can get better strikers than that anyway I. e getting BWP back in

In his defence, he was usually carrying either iwelumo or smith, not exactly work horses. Of all the gun-for-hire strikers we've had in the last 5 years, I. thought he'd been one of the better ones. No chance of him coming back though, or going to brentford.

Not sure if he would come back to Oldham as we would have better wingers now from new signings so would be better service.

He didn;t get a chance or service but his wages will be too high for a whole season.

27 May 2013 14:38:17
Ollie Lancashire to snub a a move to Oldham he will join Leyton Orient as he does not want to head North.

No he won't.

We (Orient) are not after anymore defenders. Especially central defenders. We've already got Nathan Clarke, Mathieu Baudry and Scott Cuthbert, as well as Gary Sawyer and Elliot Omozusi who can both play there.

He ain;t coming to Oldham either as we have Ch's.

Slade has stated he is well satisfied with the defence. He is more interested in strengthening the midfield and striker dept. I can tell you one thing though, he has made an ambitious attempt to sign Simon Davies of Fulham.

Is he actually any good? Wasn't olly a centre back with aldershot last season? Didn't they get relegated from the football league?

27 May 2013 14:32:50
Walsall are chaseing ex Bury foursome Cameron Belford, Mark Hughes, Craig Fagan and Tom Soares.

Soares to sign for bury on weds when embargo lifted, zubar and Ben Parker aswell

Why would walsall go for Hughes when we let him go 4 years ago?

27 May 2013 15:32:23
Walsall are in the market for John Eustace but may face competition from crisis club Coventry.

Very good pedigree played high standard all his career but not sure would fit into a Walsall midfield that if chambers signs would have chambers manton Featherstone baxendale plus the young lads we have signed from our youth and would want to develop over the season.

27 May 2013 14:56:07
Saints target Calum Macmanam

Join the queue.

27 May 2013 14:26:43
Walsall boss Dean Smith has offered a 12 month deal to released Barnet forward Craig Beattie.

Dean smith dosnt go for journey men he would rather look at someone with hunger to succeed in the game and has been released from premier league plus this chap couldn't score in any appearances for barnet in league 2 so this rumour has no legs I would have thought.

Could be going back hearts or to Aberdeen

He only played about 90 mins in total for barnet, but he runs like both his hmstrings have snapped

27 May 2013 13:52:47
Tranmere rovers turn down 80 000 for max power but have said they will acccept 125 000 for him, fact!

27 May 2013 16:07:08
who from??

Donny .

27 May 2013 22:20:57
He's worth much more than both of those figures! At least £200k

27 May 2013 13:20:11
Scott Wagstaff has agreed a 2 Year Deal with Bradford City, the winger previously worked under Parkinson at Charlton and is keen to be back playing for him again.

Not going to happen! Just signed a 2 year contract having turned down higher offers from clubs higher up.

What are you on about? Wagstaff is a free agent, how can he have signed a two year contract? And for who? He is signing for Bradford City on a two year contract next week.

No he's not because he's on holiday in Las Vegas!

27 May 2013 13:14:37
Oxford United to move for Scott Wagstaff after he was released from Charlton Athletic.

Thought O'Connor has just signed a 2 year deal at Newport

27 May 2013 18:59:58
Great if true

27 May 2013 12:51:21
Shrewsbury to sign Hartlepool midfielder Luke James, Cliftonville striker Liam Boyce and Kidderminster striker Anthony Malbon within the next 2 weeks

Get your chequebooks out as Luke James is still under contract and a talent like him will cost you.

I appreciate Shrewsbury want to set there sites high as Luke James is a very talented young player but at only 18 and under contract, I dout very much Shrewsbury could afford him.

Chris Weale is on the radar of several championship clubs including Leeds and nottm forest and also wigan after Joel Robles loan has ended

Shrewsbury don't make me laugh luke james haha league one apprentice of the year you can't afford him destined for bigger and better things than the shrews sorry but dream on

27 May 2013 11:58:08
Oxford to sign Newport County striker Aaron O'connor. Deal to be completed Tuesday.

Signed a new 2-year deal with Newport so I would think unlikely.

He has just signed a new 2 year deal with Newport

Thankfully he signed a new deal with Newport last week didn't he?
We wouldn't want him, we've just released better strikers than him

Just signed a new 2 year deal so think not.

27 May 2013 19:25:53
he wanted 2 play 4 a team on the up not on the downward spiral so he signed a new 2year contract with newport

How are Oxford on a downward spiral?
finished higher in each season since 05

Meant to say since 09

27 May 2013 13:58:22
Bradford are desperate to sign Jacques Maghoma and Phil Parkinson will be meeting with the player in the next few days with a big offer

Not a chance he's signing for boro soon as the window opens

He's already agreed a deal with middlesbrough so this is completely made up

If he was going to Boro, it would have been announced by now. He is holding talks with Bradford City over a 3 year contract in the next few days. He is not Championship standard yet.

Not sure either of you are correct as I have it on good authority that he's off to Rotherham

Maghoma's father has said that he is in talks with Bradford City, both player and club are close to a 3 year contract being agreed.

As a city fan he would suit league 1 better than a champ team challenging to get to the prem. He's not at that standard yet

As a city fan would love to see this happen, look a danger to the team every time he touched the ball at VP in play-off first leg!!!1

27 May 2013 12:01:51
Derby county are leading the chase for brentfords harry Forrester who is out of contract this summer

Already in talks with burnley I've been told :/ UTR

27 May 2013 12:06:25
recently released Northampton fullback Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi will be coming to yeovil for a trial. he has played under GJ at both Peterborough and Northampton. he hasn't played much football over the last year or so because of injury but gary seems to really like him as a player

Garry does love him but he is terrible

Why why why league 2 player released by league 2 team injury prone and were now a championship team with enough players as it is we don't need another left back

Surely not.

Silly silly boy who would sign for that clown 3 times

He is a less than average footballer at conference level, this can't possibly be true

I'm a Northampton fan and he was okay as I remember him but his been injuryed for the last 18 months and not sure if he will ever be like he was again but you will soon see, he could be a great player for you

To be fair we though Byron Webster would be rubbish turned out to be amazing

Webster is rubbish, it's just he's brave, which is a good trait to have

Webster has been brilliant in the second half of this season, partly thanks to Dan Burn!

You can't be an integral part of a League One promotion winning team and be "rubbish".

Webster has been quality for us this season! Him and dan burn have formed a great partnership

I have a feeling he is going to be great for us

I stand by my point but I'll rephrase it. Webster is limited even at League 2 level, it's just he is willing to get stuck in and has the same sort of bravery as John Terry. But I take the point that to be a big part of a promotion campaign he can't be rubbish but he isn't very good.

You can 'stand by your post all you want' but it seems you are not basing it on this season and as you mention L2 I doubt you have witnessed his L1 form. First half of season he was ok and at times better, and second half he was very good. A player with abilty who needed a prolonged chance to prove himself and has done that to a high standard including his all round game, that is fact.

27 May 2013 11:38:49
seth nana ofori twumasi linked with yeovil, plus Rory Donnelly and kurtis march. also derby's theo robinson

27 May 2013 11:38:45
Wes Brown to get his contract terminated by Sunderland

27 May 2013 11:36:56
Dwight Gayle has already been linked with moves to Premier League sides Aston Villa, Fulham, Cardiff and Norwich.

Norwich are set to sign wynne from the MLS for 2m

You saying Wynne is signing for Norwich have been playing too much Fifa just because he has 93 pace and he is quite good on the game I don't think he will cost 2 mill and Norwich won't buy him.

I would like Gayle in our team, we also need a proven goal scorer another option in winger and a couple defenders

27 May 2013 11:35:01
Matt Ritchie to Sunderland

27 May 2013 14:34:55
Only for £15m PDC's own valuation when Bournemouth came knocking at Swindledon

Hate to rain on your parade, but won't eddie howe want to keep one of his star assets to keep them in the championship? anyway, there are better players who are more suited to the premiership and ritchie might not be ready to make the step up

27 May 2013 11:25:01
Southampton have made an €18m bid for Cagliari's Radja Nainggolan, but face stiff competition from some of Europe's other elite teams.

It is thought that chairman Nicola Cortese is looking to tie up a double deal with the Italian side with Davide Astori also coming in to the South Coast team.

We see what you did there - for the record Southampton are not one of Europe's elite teams - unless of course the definition of Elite is "top 250"

Who the hell do you think are the 249 European teams better than Southampton then? I mean I think you'll struggle to reach half that number who you can be certain are better than Southampton.

27 May 2013 18:48:51
I did not say they were 250th - just not top 100 - I could reel off 100 more deserving of elite that Soton and probably more - for starters

- every team in the PL
- every team in la liga
- every team in Bundesliga
- every team in Seria A
- half a dozen in holland / Portugal / France /Russia
- a few in the championship
- a couple in scotland
- at least 2 each in sweden / romania/Poland / Czech / ukraine / Belgium /

What a dream that would be, let's hope there's some truth in it.
Have you heard anything Ed? {Ed025's Note - no mate..

Every team in the premier league? like chelsea who we got 4 points from and everyone that finished below us, good footballing knowledge i'd like to see a scottish team face southampton, that would be fun!

You know that's not true! LoL did make me giggle tho!? A secret jel Pompey fan I guess! Saints are on the up and will achieve what they have set out to achieve just sit back relax and see what next season brings ;/)) xxx

Wow, you honestly think that every team that is in The premier league is better then saints, saints finished 14th in probably the second best league in the world, also you think that championship teams are better then saints? And all of them teams in those other leagues that you said "every" team is better then saints, you are completely wrong and maybe you should keep your footballing opinions to yourself. Wow what rubbish.

If you try and say you were on about anything else other then how good saints are, you weren't! You were talking about the elite, elite isn't about how big you are (if you did mean that you are still miles off and completely wrong saying every team in those leagues) elite is about how good you are, and I bet saints wouldn't get relegated in any top league in Europe, especially after the summer transfer window! Just to back up my point about elite and the size if club or how good they are, look at Chelsea, they are a very good team and among Europe's elite, and without Roman abramivichs (how ever you spell that) money, they would be a team about the size of west ham.

You are most Likely a bitter skate with your statement a lot more suited to pompey than saints, although your statement, if we're true about pompey, it would put them about 300 places up on where actually are.

This is a saints thread and your opinion is neither needed or wanted.

If every team in the premier league were more deserving of being called elite, Southampton would have finished bottom! If any in the Championship were better, they would be in the premier league: 'such is the nature of leagues', obviously some in each of the top leagues of other European countries, other than small countries such as Scotland Luxembourg etc. In England, Southampton are the 14th most successful club in the last 20 years, and the 27th of all time. Roughly top 100 in Europe I would guess, all though I am not sure how that could be confirmed, certainly a lot better than you give them credit for

Every team in the EPL? Including ones we finished above and beat?
Lower teams in La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A are not up to the calibre of any Premiership club.
There aren't that many top teams in France, Holland, Portugal and Russia combined.
No team in the Championship is better than us. We're definitely better.
Scotland has at most 1 better than us and that's debatable.
As for the rest of the leagues again the at least 2 is optimistic for all those leagues.

Frankly all that you've done is shown your ignorance and lack of understanding when it comes to football. Southampton are easily top 100 in Europe as are all Premiership clubs. The EPL is the best league in the world.

Also would like to make myself perfectly clear. I'm not the original poster because no we are not one of the elite because the elite is a very small group of probably the best 10-15 in Europe, but we are nothing like as bad as you claim to think.

The elite teams in this world are Man UTD, Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Dortmund, Juventus, AC Milan, PSG, Ajax. I'd say that was the elite list in my opinion. "A couple in Scotland" Who? Celtic and Motherwell? Haha! Cheers for the laugh mate.

We are in the premier league? Which is the toughest league in the world?

are you on something? We are top 50, for sure. Not because we think we are better than we are, but if you stuck any midtable serie A, la liga or Ligue 1 team in the prem they would seriously struggle.

Considering they finished 14th and have beaten some of the top teams in the premier league, I think you look a bit stupid now mate.

So southampton, who finished 14th out of 20 in the PL, are worse than every team in the PL? that makes sense

^^^^^^ sorry about any spelling mistakes such we're for were, stupid iPhone.

Saints have the 24th equal biggest attendance in Europe. The potential to be a top team is there.

^Really 24th, that's brilliant! Possible stadium expansion in the future as well.
That guy really does not have a clue.

Just looked, out of the top 72 attendances across Europe Saints are 54th, that is higher than Porto who won the champions league not to long ago. I bet we could get up to about 24th if we had a big enough stadium though, get on it Cortese lol.

Fellow Saints we really must try not to bite when nonsense like this is posted, that's exactly what the original poster wants; a big reaction. Just relax, with Cortese having signed another contract all is well. Expect to see Charlie Austin in to be understudy to Lambert until he retires.

Well I enjoyed this guy being made to look a fool, if that's what he wants he needs his head testing. We are premier league and we are here to stay! Lambert to get 20 goals next season but a lot of them from coming off the bench for a new Big name Striker COYR!

If you guys look at the world top club ranking Southampton are in 95th position

27 May 2013 11:05:10
Charlton are interested in Gary taylor-fletcher. The 31 year old Blackpool striker is also on the radar of a number of other championship clubs.

No chance. he is another Ricardo Fuller!

From a blackpool fan, gtf is a decent player, not the quickest but has got good feet and an eye for a goal, sad to see him go if i'm honest

Surely he'll want to stay in the North West this late in his career.

27 May 2013 10:51:42
Crawley will tie up deals for Danny Hylton and Andy Drury later this week. They also are talking to a couple of right backs and a left sided midfielder.

27 May 2013 18:27:27
Crystal palace want crawleys billy clarke who is good friends with holloway after playing under him at blackpool

Clarke to palace. Really. About as likely as it is for Defoe to come to crawley

Love billy as a player and he is a really nice guy as well, but he is not prem standard (yet) one of, if not thee best player for Crawley and just don't see palace looking at league 1 players despite holloways mad ways

27 May 2013 10:49:19
Danny Hylton has agreed terms with Crawley

Why would we want him is Richard Lowe trying to turn us into alders***

27 May 2013 10:42:11
If Watford fail to gain promotion in today's Championship Play off final then next season they will be signing Nathan Ake on loan from Chelsea. If Watford do gain promotion today, they will re-sign Chalobah on loan from Chelsea.

Ake's been around the first team this year, why would they loan him out?

27 May 2013 10:33:42
Rhys Williams of Middlesbrough, Adam Le Fondre of Reading and Jay Spearing of Liverpool are all wanted by Sunderland.

Wouldn't surprise me, all 3 have played in the championship and been some of the best in their own position. Could this be Sunderland preparing for the championship?

Hope the mackems take Rhys Williams. All went pear shaped as soon as he came back from injury the back end of last season so hope he goes and f***s them up like he did us haha

SAFC look to have signed Cabral from Basle, so Spearing is probably a no go

Wouldnt be too bothered if williams went he's very over rated if we can get a decent fee mogga can re invest

Cant beleive any boro supporter would want to get rid of rhys, yes he struggled last year but on the whole he looks a classy player.

I think ameobi is better than reach tbh! Reach needs to work on a lot more to prove himself a talented winger! He doesn't have the skill and delivery to provide as ameobi showed he had during his loan spell

I agree with your post but only on better delivery side of it but I personally would play reach in a more direct attacking role but I don't think amoebi is a better all round player and I think in a season or 2 as a regular he will excel as a forward

I hope reach turns out a better player than ameobi because I can't see boro singing ameobi on a permenant basis. We NEED a goal scorer who will bang 20+ goals a season but until that we have no chance of progressing

Agree with that mate.

Williams will be back to his best, with a full injury free season and played in a regular position, a player boro need to keep not sell

Paul Cook looking to bring Marlon Pack to Chesterfield, also looking at Corey Smith who' s been released by Norwich

27 May 2013 14:32:23
Absolutely no chance Chesterfield could afford him. Anyway he is meant to be close to joining Bournemouth.

Marlon Pack will not be joining Chesterfield.

Pack not coming to CFC together with few others that were on the original list like Blair, Bocci, Vicenti etc

Sorry Bocco

It's korey smith!

Sorry but this ain't true one bit

Southampton to make another bid for Andreu Fontas of Barcelona.

He is awful

Another bid? I'd be surprised if we had even bothered once.

Cardiff city targets

Leon Barnett - Norwich -500k
Jamie mackie - qpr - 1.2 mill
Jack Rodwell -man city - loan
Oberfemi martins - Seattle sounders - free
Gino peruzzi -velez sarsfield - 4mill

Out of them we will only get barnett, mackay will buy players from abroard

If you got mackie he would be great for you. wanted norwich to get him in jan. puts everything he has into a game.

Barnett would be a waste of money. Very good for us (Norwich) in the Championship but just can't cut it in the premier league! Would happily be proved wrong though as he seems a great bloke

Not rodwell

Whilst I imagine Barnett will happily sign, I can't see us selling quite that cheaply

I love Barnett really did a class job for us in the Champ, Mackie he works his socks off but tbh we need someone that can score a lot of goals for us, we won't get Rodwell plus he might get injured often, Malky won't go after Martins doesn't seem to score many but Peruzzi is the Argentinian right back we've been keeping tabs on since we've sent our scouts over to South America

Mackie from QPR £1.2million you must be joking he's a player who would start week in week out in the championship. So if Cardiff want him it'd be upwards of £3million for that you'd get him. What you need to remember is Mackie is on a small wage in terms of QPR and will not be a player the club wish to sell. Mackie himself isn't the type to push for a move but as with the fee money talks. But don't forget what happened at QPR, Cardiff must put proper thought into the signings they make as having premier league money can be a curse aswell as a blessing. Sometimes being in a situation where you have limited rather than nether ending funds gives a club better stability

Now way in a million years getting martins seatle sounders just bought him from levente for 4mil release clause

Now way in a million years getting martins seatle sounders just bought him from levente for 4mil release clause

Cardiff city make approach to Manchester city about the availability of jack Rodwell.

Might approach, but City will never release him either permanently or on loan.

27 May 2013 10:13:06
Reports that Southampton are closing in on Nani are apparently wide of the mark. The saints will instead pursue overseas, and far cheaper, wingers. Lens and Lamela are rumoured, as well as a possible loan return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

No.

Lamela will cost more than Nani so no idea how you call him cheaper.

Never interested in Nani. Lamela too good. Lens maybe.

No way will AOC be coming back on loan.

Lamela would cost more than Nani.

Lamela is not a cheaper option than Nani, he would cost 20 million plus.

What rumours we were closing on Nani? I've not even heard hints at us signing him. We are almost definitely not going to take Nani. Frankly can't see Chamberlain happening either but if we get a permanent transfer for him I'd have him back. Would avoid a loan though.

What reports on Nani?

Lamela will not be cheaper than Nani!

Lens is possible so you may have something correct there

And I can safety say the ox isn't coming back to southampton!

27 May 2013 15:01:07
As a Saints fan, all I can say is that some of these rumors are becoming increasing ridiculous. I have heard this Nani and the Lamela rumor before, but I swear that half of these post are from 12yr olds or Pompey fans trying to make us look stupid.

More like United would like us to take Nani and give them dibs on Shaw. Dream on Moyesy!

The deal to take Aden Flint from Swindon Town to Bristol City has been hijacked by Preston North End! Flint favours a move to Preston and te deal should be complete by te end of the week.

Or not he's at Ashton gate having med

I really doubt PNE could compete with Bristol city on the wages front.

And PNE have already said it's loans only this season as they don't have any money to spend

I doubt that considering he only handed a transfer request in because it was bristol city that were after him Sx he sees them as a big club and likes the new plans that they have in place for the club. And in comparison to Preston, bristol city are a massive club plus he's be downgrading moving to Preston from Swindon however he would up grading moving to bristol city

Don't see how Flint is away until Tuesday staying outside Bristol looking at the area, his partner comes from Devon so a move to west country is his preference.

City have still to meet the asking price, there is plenty of interest in him so until the 500k plus add ons or 350k plus paying the 20% add on back to his previous club is met he is going nowhere. Flynn is great in the air but poor on the ground hence why he was second choice at Swindon last season, his only chances came due to injury's. Swindon fans happy for him to go with Troy and Thomson expected back from injury.

27 May 2013 13:24:30
As a City supporter, I wouldn't say we are massive in comparison to PNE, pretty even in fact. The fact that the player handed in a transfer request as soon as our interest was confirmed would make me think he is heading for BS3 as it appears he fancies the move.
Good club PNE with decent supporters, always remember getting promoted at Deepdale and the home support were top class!

Bristol city a massive club but still 61 million in debt

Why are city buying a second choice defender and not the first choice we are trying to get rid of rubbish players not bring more in

PNE haven't said it's loans only.

PNE are not exactly a small club by league 1 standards, but it is my belief that Flint is all but in the bag for Bristol City.

We will see him holding up the scarf this week.

Bristol need to cut their wage bill as it stands its 18 mill +, because of the wage cap it has to go down to 7.8 mill that's why they are buying a second choice defender

Flint will be a good buy for you, I think 350k is good business from your point of view and not bad for us as he is in his last year, his distribution isn't amazing, but he is a great tackler and heads everything.

28 May 2013 18:55:25
Incorrect, our wage bill for the previous season (11-12) was £18M. This has already been cut drastically by both McInnes and by SOD. Once the OOC players are taken into account, our wage bill has plenty of scope for signings. IF every player in contract stayed at the club (not going to happen) we would be at just over 80% of our wage budget from FFP.

Full respect to PNE, apologies for other people sleighting you on here.

Flint's a done deal, however

In league 1 its 65% of your turnover so 80% is too high, if it stays at that then you will be under a transfer embargo.

Thats awkward when flints on holiday with alan connell only true thing is that alan mccormack has signed for millwall ferrys signed for mk dons and wes foderingham has said he has no intention of leaving swindon.

I believe relegated teams have a years grace on a few of the FFP restrictions.

I don't think that applies to League 1 also that wouldn't be fair on all the other clubs that have to adhere to the 65 % limit

So you all believe flint will be a good sighning for us glad a bid has been accepted and 350 k is a good price for a young centre half

Thats the problem with the FFP, its not fair.

Billy sharpe has tweeted he has signed for acrrington stanley on loan for next season. got to be bull, or just a wind up! Plenty of championship clubs want him! {Ed034's Note - he was just having a laugh

Maghoma off to Portugal with Braga FC

27 May 2013 09:44:26
MK Dons are looking at Greg Draper as a replacement IF Ryan Lowe leaves

Is some nobody from TNS really going to provide what we need? Anyway, he's probably out of our price range. We can only sign frees as we're skint.

27 May 2013 09:43:25
lots of comings and goings at rockcliff (boro) training ground and just heard that a medical is booked for Tuesday, most likely is Ebanks Blake and a young Belgian player from FC 20 I work in the hotel on the same site.

Why have people clicked unbelivable when its all over the news papers :?

27 May 2013 09:24:17
Leeds, Doncaster, Burnley and Barnsley are interested in Billy Sharp

Not true leeds yes but not the other 3 add forest and reading to that list

Billy Sharp will not go to Barnsley he hetes the club
Wombwell RED

This is never going to happen. He would never go to Barnsley after some fans at Barnsley took the micky when his son died.

Not a prayer of billy sharp to any of those 3!

It was one Barnsley fan not some, he was very quickly silenced by other Barnsley fans.

27 May 2013 13:20:24
As much as us rovers fans would love shatpie back I doubt that will happen now, come on Billy make our season!

27 May 2013 13:29:16
Doncasters first signing will be Ben pringle. followed my Alan McCormick from swindon.

^^ chance of going to Leeds, but not the others

I'd love billy at burnley

Donny or forest then he can commute from sheffield also some of his best friends are at Donny and he loves the club and it's fans! He has previously stated in the Yorkshire post he hates Leeds and Barnsley and especially there do called fans

Think billy would bring in the fans at the keepmoat. good investment all round

Think billy has a bit more ambition than to play for Doncaster. Would be a big step backwards for him

Stop making rubbish up billy sharp has never said that he hates leeds or barnsley your just a deluded donny fan that think he will rejoin you not going to happen

He will go to better than Barnsley

It was in the Yorkshire post when he was linked with Leeds and Leicester before he signed for Southampton and he dislikes Barnsley because the fans made jokes about his son. I am a Donny fan but not deluded I think he will go to hull or forest

I'd love Billy back at Rovers but I'd put my money on Forest snapping him up before anyone else gets a sniff

If billy sharp leaves southampton he will be looking to get straight back in the prem, not fight relegation with doncaster. Doncaster fans must be stupid if they thonk he will rejoin them. MOT

Sharp isn't good enough for the pl, that is why he was farmed out to forest last season.
then he fell out of favour at forest so perhaps he isn't as good as some may think he is.

Derby to sign

Lee Grant - Free
Chris Martin - Free
Craig Forsyth - Watford - 225k
Harry Forrester - Free
James Vaughan - Norwich - 1.2 million
CB on loan for 6 months

Out

Tyson - Free contract bought out
Robinson - 300k
Fielding - 250k
Legzdins - 250k
Oconnor - Free contract bought out
Bailey - 200k
Naylor - 150k

List is correct in terms of targets. But, Vaughan may still join hudds. Jackson and Russell back up targets

Derby linked with Forrester in Zip Magazine (which seems a saucy little publication) today.

Vaughan won't be 1. 2 Russell would be the better option

I wouldn't pay 1. 2 for Vaughan, not until he proved he can last 3/4 of a season at least would he be worth that. Russell not tested at championship level, but had a very good season, would happily see that sort of money go towards his signing.

27 May 2013 08:51:54
Swansea City expected to tie up the 8 million signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang within the the next few days.

I can't believe this garbage, swans would never pay £8m on a player, £8m is 3-5 players in Swansea eyes, they'll scrounge around looking in the bargain bin.

This rumour seems to be gaining momentum. I hope it's true. Would be a quality signing. Very much doubt £8 m though.

Hope so

Hope this is true will be a brill signing!

Swansea do have money to spend - Laudrup wants to spend in the summer - the board want to keep him - Swansea are in Europe so need to spend - So it is quite possible

Second comment from the top, keep in mind this season we made £26m from selling Allen, Sinclair and Graham, buying Michu, Chico, Ki and Hernandez cost around £15m in total, so we obviously have money left over, that's without the summer funds of around £60m that all the premier league clubs get. So I wouldn't be too surprised if we did spend £8m on a player this summer, I hope this rumour is true Aubamayang looks a top player

To right they'll spend 8m on a player. We spend a little more each year on players and the still stay in the black.
We spent near 6m on each Ki and Hernandez last year so why does 8m sound too much?
Hope this transpires and hope we get Kone, what a promising season we could have starting from August!

"Won't spend 8 mill on a player". Obviously not a Jack. We spent £5. 55 million on Hernandez. We are now more established in the Premiership,, have more money in the bank from player sales and more sky money. We will spend that sort of money for the right player. Whether he is the right player is a another matter. In Hue we trust.

27 May 2013 16:29:20
What's this guy like & would he suit our style of football? Never heard of him.

Hes a great player and would suit the playing style, well worth 8m one of the best players in the french league.

Well they did make like a £16m profit this season though.

27 May 2013 18:29:05
Lads if we want to be succesfull we need some big signings

£8 million = £2.5 million on top of the Danny Graham fee, not that far fetched.
Last summer there was around £8 million profit on transfers when the plan was to spend around £6 million to buy Siggurdsson, a £20 million transfer pot could be on.

Apparently guys aubamayang is in advanced talks with cardiff and is said to be keen on the move (any info ed?)

Not much money to spend on players this year because of stadium expansion. But maybe Swansea can find a new "Michu" on the cheap?

Part of Laudrups terms upon signing an extension was to have money to buy new players, the board have agreed but nobody knows any figures.
32RED sponsorship was cut short so to peruse new sponsors that can contribute to the stadium expansion. Would guess that they get to pick the stand name or something!

Swans have money and will spend how they see fit, there isn't a limit on transfers just a good wage structure not paying stupid wages, given they've made huge steps in both league and europe they will spend, as previously noted the new sponsership and forcast for the club looks good plus what's already been pocketed, there's more than enough available for squad improvement, can't wait to see swans next year, will be even better

Stadium expansion has been put on hold I heard

Huddersfield are in talks with readings recently released Jay Tabb after failing to agree terms with Ipswich

He's staying at Ipswich :)

Shame he's half decent good worker keeps it ticking over

Huddersfield look certain to sign out of favour qpr striker jay bothroyd for an undisclosed fee. Bradford city goal machine Nahki Wells also looks certain to follow bothroyd in a move to the John smith stadium.

No thanks, better out there.

No thanks

Michael Chopra turning up North to sign for Darlington, he sees it as a cushy number as he will never play for ITFC again

He'll stay with ipswich

27 May 2013 08:12:13
Luke Steele will reject the offer of a new contract with Barnsley.

Barnsley will have Lee Camp on loan as number 1 with Ben Alnwick as backup. {Ed034's Note - on loan from who?? Camp is a free agent

Totally false information. Luke Steele is on the brink of signing new Barnsley contract.

Good luck to him, at 9 grand aweek we could not afford him, but if he goes to a top championship teamhe could be on the bench for most of the season

Who says Steele will sign new contract? On his way to Leeds

Think you will find that Alnwick will be number 1 goalkeeper next season!

Luke Steele is considering his options because Barnsley have only offered a 1 year contract and reduced terms.

If Steele goes then the only people to blame are the board for being so disrespectful to him over the contract they have offered

Luke Steele has the common sense to stay with Barnsley knowing full well that Barnsley will be premiership contenders.

Been by far one of the best if not the best performers for Barnsley

Manchester United offer Luke Steele a chance of the premiership.

27 May 2013 07:56:48
Wagstaff has been rumoured again and could sign within the week.

Also Kalvin Zola has been approached again by Gillingham, both would be great signings.

This is from a very good source.

Fulham will sign Babel on a free, and Steklenburg for 4mil this week.

We are going to be one of the most active this summer Riether, Boateng, Amorebrieta already and by the looks of it Stekelenberg, Babel and Bemt are on there way.

27 May 2013 10:25:39
Steklenburg likely closer to 2m - he has burned his bridges at Roma and they want him out. Babel could be a good call.

Him and Bent both in the same situation in that both their clubs want to sell them but neither for the price Fulham offered.

Tommy Fraser back with Port Vale on trial

27 May 2013 07:20:48
How can he be on trial? No teams are training now. He must be in on his own.

I don't think he is!

Heard Gary mcsheffery is talking to port vale

Efe Sodje is on the Vale radar after his release from Bury.

If he was training on his own he would still lose the ball

27 May 2013 00:55:18
Eden Dzeko to be used as part of a player plus cash deal for Napoli's Edinson Cavani, despite interest being shown by Real Madrid and Chelsea for the striker.

Real Madrid want Bale, Suarez and Cavani playing with Ronaldo, Alonso, Ramos and ozil. Bayern Munich who?

27 May 2013 00:49:04
Wolves FC to do a huge clear out of players when the new head coach is announced likely to be players roger johnson and jamie ohara to cardiff city, kevin doyle to leeds and wayne hennessey to QPR - this is what I have been told!

All true except Wayne Hennessey.

O'Hara will not Join Cardiff

Get rid of them all! Hennessey is well overated and Ikeme is a better keeper!

27 May 2013 18:11:43
Jack hunt has again recently signed a new 4 year deal he won't be leaving hudds this summer!

Sack them. Who cares about a fee? Get rid ASAP

Gary Madine is going to sign for Bradford City on loan.

27 May 2013 14:21:15
would be a good signing but can't see it happening

26 May 2013 21:26:52
If Andrew Davies returns to Middlesborough then Bradford will sign Ignasi Miquel on a season long loan from Arsenal. Bradford also may make an ambitious bid to bring in Serge Gnabry also on loan but he is also attracting interest from Charlton and Peterborough.

27 May 2013 14:21:28
prefer Big Davies
