Strongstrong rumors coming out of Ipswich that aaron lee-Barrett who was told he was surplus to requirements at Portman road is to be offered a one year contract at the Suffolk club, McCarthy was hoping to bring in new keeper to push loach for number 1slot but in suprising turn around has changed his mind and will try to get him to stay. it's believed big Mick will save money on wages this way and spend cash in strengthening other areas. and I've heard from good source lee-barrett is happy to stay at club he supports on reduced wages

This has got to be the most ridiculous rumour ever. not a chance of there being any truth in this whatsoever

A local lad wanting to stay at his local club and willing to take a cut in wages as he knows he's next in line for first team duties. Sounds pretty viable to me. even more so if town are watching their budget.

Rubbish rumour! Mick doesn't change his mind!

30 May 2013 23:16:12
Bradford and Bristol City are willing to throw Ricardo Gardner a lifeline and sign the free agent.

No they're not.

He's moved his family back to Jamaica from Bolton and is hoping to find a move in the MLS.

31 May 2013 12:53:13
He does not fit in with the Bristol City transfer policy of signing players under 24

30 May 2013 23:14:09
Steve Clarke's good friendship with Jose Mourinho will put West Brom in a good position to sign Romelu Lukaku on loan next season.

West Brom will also sign Sebastian Coates, Goran Popov, Shaun Maloney, David Bentey and Demeurici Mbokani.

I agree with some, but they will not sign both Mbokani and Lukaku.

Oh my. Feel sorry for west brom then. They will be real relegation candidates!

Why not we need strikers

31 May 2013 08:30:48
The transfer for Mbokani if it happens is likely to take place before a decision is taken on Lukaku so signing both is not unlikely.

What I doubt is that Albion could afford to bring in all of these players at the same time.

31 May 2013 08:37:06
^^ They could do with Odemwingie leaving.

31 May 2013 08:37:07
Lukaku won't be coming back to West Brom, so the ideal option is to get Mbokani permanently

Definitely hope not Bentley or Coates but heard bony could be coming in as well as mbokani

Lukaku will not be loaned out next season.

Coates and Bentley not good enough
Lakaku back a possibility but we need at least 2 new strikers. Winge & Fortune gone so don't bet against Mbonkani and 1 other

How would we be relegation candidates? We would have exactly the same squad as last year with more players. Would look to finish 7th if we got those players!

31 May 2013 11:58:44
The Board and Clarke have already stated there will be only 1 marquee signing so Mbokani and Bony is extremely unlikely.

31 May 2013 15:36:37
Wba should sell odemwingie and olsson and bring in hutarda, Marshall and coates (?) in as replacements. Should also sign either bony or mbokani as well as el hamdaoui (free transfer), kalas (loan) and Maloney. Maloney would be a good quality signing with a few years left in him to add a bit more of an attacking edge to wba's midfield

Johnny Russell's agent was confirmed to be in Derby today while the player was at an event in Glasgow, his agent having a look around the area.

Russell will meet with Nigel Clough and Sam Rush to tour the stadium and training ground and begin negotiations. It is likely wages should not be an issue as Russell being at a SPL club will not be on as high wages as the championship average, Russell will likely be one off if not the highest paid players at the club.

If there is no advance in proceedings by Friday then this transfer will likely run out for the next few weeks. The reason why Dundee United accepted the 850k bid now when they could have held out for 1 million was because of ownership issues internally to the club.

Derby had a bid knocked back yesterday according to The Courier. Also he is on record saying that he wants to play abroad. And that means he will not be signing for any championship team. Its a ordinary league anyway he is better than that. He has power and pace and good in the air. And has decent skill level, that will improve playing against top class defenders in Italy. The guy knows that a chance like that may never come again. He has all his life to play in England, and at a higher level to if Italy works out for him.

There are no ownership issues at DUFC - the club is in the hands of the Thompson Family (Stephen having inherited the Chairmanship from his father Eddie after he died) and the club is very stable with dramatically reduced debts and an exciting, new, young manager.
It is true that like most teams, DUFC are working hard to cut their financial cloth accordingly and reduce spends, and we are not a buying club, but reports here and elsewhere that DUFC are 'desperate' for cash are not true. What ST wants is to not lose the player for nothing in a years time when his contract expires, but Russell could be the sort of player that makes the difference between 2nd or 3rd in the league and 6th or 7th so adds plenty value to the club on the field. He won;t be given away.

I'd like to know seriously whether this is true or not because I think I'm getting my hopes up too much here.

He can pop into St Georges Park and see the gaffer take his A license. Young Clough will able to tell him about kick it and head it ticka tacka styley :)

Next week rumour of the week guaranteed if anybody spots him (Russell not Clough) at Moor Farm.

Reports in Scotland say he will sign fit Celtic

Firstly he can play abroad, in Derby!

Also by coming to Derby if our league is so poor, then what he can do is rip it up the championship and get promoted then put himself up against the best defences in the world, miles better than serie A, the premiership.

The championship isn't as doom and gloom as SPL fans think. I would say Celtic would be the best team in the championship if they were in the league but the rest of the SPL would not be good enough for the championship that's just my opinion, I am by no means right as I haven't watched he SPL every week like I have in the championship.

All the negativity from Dundee United fans who think it will be better for Scottish football if he went to Italy, I 100% agree going to Italy would be better but Derby would still be a fantastic move for Russell and a superb platform for him to excel as a player.

What? England is abroad!

31 May 2013 14:10:43
The English Premiership does not have the best defenders in the world. In Italy they invented there own style of defender, called the Cata natchio defending. And is world famous and regarded the best around. If English football was so good, the Germans would never have been at Wembley. How ever then again they have a habit of showing you up like at Euro 96. I like how the Germans called your football dull before the kick off. The ones on the telly were spot on. Also I do watch a lot of championship and SPL.
And the football in Scotland is far more attractive, so many teams getting it down and passing on the deck in a attacking style. Even teams like the Paisley club that won the cup who are down the bottom. Also Derby are not going up, and will not even reach the play off stages. With or without Johnny Russell, as your experienced players are awful.

I do watch a lot of Scottish football (grandparents are Scottish and support Partick Thistle) and the standard of SPL is no better than the Championship. Besides Celtic, all of the other teams are low Champ-high League 1 quality.

I can't wait for this whole saga to be over just so I don't have to see the opinions of deluded Dundee United fans any more.

To the guy who said derby aren't going up, I think we have an excellent chance this coming season.

There is a ridiculous amount of negativity towards Russell going to Derby instead of Italy. The Italian club's bid was absolutely pathetic, surely for the benefit of the club you would prefer Dundee accepting a bid from Derby for much more money.

Also the Italian defences, on a whole, aren't as good. The same applies for your German comparison. Yes there are 6 or 7 clubs in each league that are probably a cut above the English in defensive terms but the premier league is better overall.

The Scottish football probably play much much better football on the floor as you say but the standard of defensive opposition Russell will come up againstin the championship will be a better quality, this will test Russell, maybe not as much as the Italian league would be it would still be more of a test than the SPL.

As I posted a while ago 6FT 5 Lazio defender Modibo Diakite has turned down Inter Milan and has agreed to join Sunderland. BLACKCAT

Great isn't it?! Don't think anyone has ever chosen Sunderland over inter Milan!

30 May 2013 22:17:53
Steve McClaren to Wigan is looking almost certain now.

Yeah zakuani wants championship football and the posh said they are struggling with his wages and bury might take zubar on loan.

30 May 2013 22:01:08
Bournemouth ins

Gabriel zakuani -peterbourgh 350 k
Richard dunne -Aston villa 700k
James dunne-Stevenage 200 k
Clayton donaldson -brentford 500 k
Danny Hollands -charlton free end of contract
Daniel gabbidon - crystal palace 450 k

Outs

Wes Thomas - Birmingham 600 k
Stephane zubar - bury or Plymouth -150k
Frank demouge -fc roda - 250k
Harry arter-Swansea 2 mil if Hollands joins

Most of these deals will take place the only unlikely 1 is gabbidon as crystal palace want him as a back up to pare and birmingham said they will not offer over 500k for Thomas so I say 400-450 k is fair as bournemouth fans hate him he is Bournemouths answer to Peter odemwinge

Birmingham do not have any money to buy players, no fees will be paid, so it's a non starter.

Doubt we (Argyle) would pay that much for Zubar

31 May 2013 06:38:53
I'm afraid its a no go fella, if you want the Posh's Zakuani £350k will only buy his left leg!

Danny Hollands has another year on his contract.

31 May 2013 09:13:12
Haha! Bury £150k?

Gabbidon is likely to leave Palace even though they won promotion he was only signed as a back up to long term injured players paddy mcCarthy and Darcy Blake.

Zubar to bury

31 May 2013 10:55:21
i don't think bury will pay that much either for zubar, he is a good player and would like to have him after an impressive loan spell.

Dunne's on a free

Hollands isn't at the end of his contract.

I also doubt Bury would pay that much for Zubar as we have 18 new signings to get in over the summer! However, Zubar was much loved at Gigg Lane and he would be a great signing if we can secure his services

Zubar loves argyle and that's where he wants to return

Dunne's not on a free!

Why would Gabbidon leave? Crystal Palace have 4 Centre backs and he is 1st choice, stupid rumour Holloway would not sell him! From a CPFC fan

Zubar had a medical on Friday and will be announced as a signing at Bury at Tuesdays press conference.

Dunne is on a free, his contract at Villa expires on July 1st

30 May 2013 22:37:33
Former Exeter favourite Richard Logan will be offered a short-term deal to return to the club, providing he can prove his fitness to manager Paul Tisdale.

30 May 2013 22:34:19
Exeter manager Paul Tisdale is hoping to seal the permanent signing of Anton Rodgers following a brief loan spell at the end of last season.

30 May 2013 22:33:34
Rumours round Huddersfield a fee for Jamie Paterson has been agreed with Walsall believed to be around £1. 25m with Kallum Higginbotham joining the league one side on loan until january as part of the deal

Where you hear this? Hope it's true btw

Bit expensive but better than getting nobody

Robins said he's gone give him a chance

Absoulute tosh Walsall will not sell Paterson even though the fee is a good price

Paterson is a natural right footer and a out and out striker he played on left wing for walsall to get regular play and scored 13 he plays in the hole he will be smashin the goals in for you next season this is true the money he's going for is a steal good luck he wants prem

Far from 'absolute tosh' I'm afraid mate and you know it. Walsall would accept that offer immediately for a player who's still not shown his best in league one

31 May 2013 16:54:26
It would only work if you loan him back to us for another season after you get him (if he wants to go which is doubtful as his family and friends live locally

31 May 2013 22:01:32
yeah he`ll stay at walsall cause of his friends and family. Do me a favour.

Scannell was in the same boat last year with his family and friends back in Croydon, fast forward to now and he loves it up here. Paterson would be foolish to turn down us or any other championship team that may end up buying him if he has the level of ambition he's said to have

The desperation of these Walsall fans not to lose Paterson can only be a good thing in terms of how worth the money he'd be fore Hudds

Absolute deluded Walsall fans, it makes no sense whatsoever to keep hold of him unless you think you're going to get promoted next season. It would be a great cash windfall for Walsall to sell while his stock is high.

As a town fan I can see how the Walsall fans feel with losing a class player, it was the same for us all when the Jordan Rhodes rumours came flooding in, we didn't want to believe it, but we all knew he would be gone

If you do get him could you loan him back to us for a season to prove himself

You have just hit the nail on the head Walsall plan to get promoted, therefore he won't be sold, if we were planning mid table then we would sell him its just that you have tried to sign him during our 125th anniversary and the club want promotion

30 May 2013 22:30:56
Exeter youngster Jamie Reid is attracting interest from a host of Football League sides including Crystal Palace, and Paul Tisdale is lining up a move for Salisbury striker Jamie White as well as offer Matt Oakley a new contract, should Reid leave St James' Park.

30 May 2013 22:30:05
Phil Parkinson trying to tie up a permanent deal for Scott Arfield ex HTFC and Jamie Vardy for a season loan.

30 May 2013 21:36:15
After Mark Hughes was appointed as Stoke City manager, I have received numerous names of people who he could bring to the club, here are a few:
Felipe Caicedo-Lokomotiv Moscow
Junior Hoilett-QPR
Taye Taiwo-AC Milan
Stephen Ireland-Aston Villa
Vladimir Weiss-Pescara
Joleon Lescott-Manchester City
Mame Biram Diouf-Hannover 96

They are some good strikers I would like Caicedo, Hoilett, Diouf, Weiss and Taiwo

Not ONE of those names excites me -. -

Wonder who the agent of all those players is?

Ah I see. If true (or even if not) let's see if he will be around long enough to go down with his team or he just set the ball rolling and then beat them out of the prem like with QPR!

Just wondering why he would bother signing some of them? As he signed them before and they were flops? Red Smoke.

31 May 2013 08:41:36
Only two of them seem believeable

"After Mark Hughes was appointed as Stoke City manager, I have received numerous names of people who he could bring to the club"

Couldn't you just say 'I heard this from a bloke I sat next to in Burger King'?

Did Hughes text you the names?

They didn't exactly 'flop' under Hughes. Caicedo was a young player and managed 5 goals in 27 games for city. Hoilett did flop but still a great young player. Taiwo flopped. Stephen Ireland was great for city it was at villa where he was poor. Vladimir Weiss is young and came through city's academy. Joleon Lescott is a great defender and still is, well he's still in the England squad. Diouf was never signed by Hughes and still was young.

30 May 2013 21:45:38
Chesterfield have Jimmy Ryan on their radar - was there when Richardson was

Announced this morning on Radio Sheffield that he will sign next week. Ventress

Not true

30 May 2013 21:33:16
Jimmy Ryan of Scunthorpe to sign for Chesterfield

Contract up end of June. Accrington link. Young and hungry, could happen - js

Extension option on his contract about to activate at Scunthorpe

30 May 2013 21:40:48
Harry Rednapp to be confirmed as new Brighton manager by early next week.

Never. Brighton wouldn't supply the vast amount of millions Redknapp likes to throw around

Oh good, we'll have 2 years of high success, a large wage bill, and be in administration for 2 yrs followed by bankruptcy.

Exciting times.

A lot of rumours about this. He's a huge manager in world football, proved to be one of the best. I'm a Brighton fan and I want Poyet out, his system of football is flawed at the club and I feel he's taken us as far as he can. I could see Redknapp coming to brighton. He's talked about Brighton last season, about how they play brilliant football. Brighton is a club on the rise and I could see Redknapp moving to Brighton and ditching the sinking QPR.

31 May 2013 01:23:11
I'm a brighton fan and I would have him at the club but he likes to spend a lot of money on player and wages and brighton have not got that type off money.

Theres no truth in any rumer concerning a new manager. Poyet only suspendid so until he's propely sacked t bloom can't contact other managers. fact

31 May 2013 07:02:34
We would be bankrupt of money and ideas in two years

31 May 2013 08:01:13
first you say poyet system is flawed
then you say redknapp says you play
brilliant
football
what do you want

Some of you showing no confidence in Tony Bloom and Paul Barber being able to control the spending of money. He can only spend it if they sign the cheques or agreements.

It is the owners who give him the money to throw around in the first place

31 May 2013 12:05:50
You Can only spend what you earn under the new fair play rules starting next season, all the championship clubs will have to tighten their belts & wage budgets, clubs will not be able to pay extortionate wages to players, that even applies to the ones coming down from the premiership, most clubs are in debt and will have to live within their means, take Wolves as an example, relegated twice now, so with tight wages most championship clubs will be looking in the lower leagues for bargain players

Maybe they were different posters.

31 May 2013 21:11:17
Still no news on Gus Poyet. tv Sussex sent an email to Brighton Football Club asking them if they could give them some information about what's happening. Brighton wouldn't give them anything. Also there was supposed to be a press conference at 9am yesterday morning, but it was a rumour on twitter {Ed003's Note - Say no more}

30 May 2013 20:54:57
Gillingham look set to sell jack payne to either posh or a unknown championship club for around 700k. They are looking to replace him with marlon pack but face competition from charlton and ipswich. {Ed003's Note - and Sheff Wed.}

I didn't hear anything about Ipswich or gills wanting him, I saw charlton and Wednesday are after him but from the four choices I think charlton have the advantage as they finished the highest last season.

So far charlton interested in marlon pack for 150k and jack payne for 700k, sounds good

^ last years standing in the championship will not be of great concern to a player because of how tight the nature of the championship was last season. There are many other reasons, including location, manager, club set-up and wages which would be deemed as more important.

31 May 2013 16:22:56
Get Allen out the players hate him transferring lee who is undoubtly one of our few league one quality players is mad.

Got any proof the players hate Martin Allen?

That makes sense get rid of the manager that won the League 2, Lee could be good when having a good game, didn't see much last season

^ last years standing in the championship will not be of great concern to a player because of how tight the nature of the championship was last season. There are many other reasons, including location, manager, club set-up and wages which would be deemed as more important.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well Charlton should still be in pole position then going by that criteria.

Similar sized clubs, London a better location that being in the middle of nowhere.

30 May 2013 20:56:27
Could Stephen Cotterill be the next Millwall manager as he was seen at the Den today?

Or maybe Steve Keen (ex Blackburn)

Hope so

30 May 2013 19:55:42
Southampton are interested in signing Victor Ruiz from Valenia. Pochettino is a long time admirer of the young center back.

Would be a great signing but not going to be easy to pull off. Hopefully Cortese can work his magic.

He has been booed from his own fans this season because he makes at least one big mistake in every game he plays albeit he hasn't played much because of his poor form. Apparently he is slow and cumbersome on the ball so not the type of defender we need.

31 May 2013 10:07:04
What's the rumours that poch may be on his way to benfica hope he can speak Portuguese better than his English.

31 May 2013 10:23:20
You have to credit pardew and Adkins for saints surviving last season it was the players they put together which were most consistent, I just hope some of the under eighteen will get a chance.

He can speak a reasonable amount of English. Just doesn't like to talk to the press in English. He proved he knows a fair amount at the end of season awards dinner.

An article from a journalist in Spain that covers Valencia C. F. says they would bite saints hand off if £5mil was offrered. It was said that wingers have been prefered at the back above him. Inconsistent and lacks concentration. HOWEVER, I think he'd be a good signing: young, able to learn, relatively cheap and provides competition. A new start could be all that he needs.

HOWEVER that sounds like he lacks the fundamental attributes to be a top Centre Half

30 May 2013 19:54:39
Barnsley Looking to line up a bid for Adam Legidizins if Luke Steele accepts contract from Leicester

If steele leaves it will be to a prem team

Rather have alnwick! This guy only made one appearance for burton when he was on loan there

31 May 2013 11:28:30
Adam Legdzins, quality goalie from his time at Derby, good shot stopper but flaps a bit at crosses. Cloughie signed Lee Grant as he is a more dominant keeper and Legdz' don't want to sit and warm the bench for another season so will go cheap. Derby signed him from Burton so his wages will not be an issue, prefer him to other Derby goalie Fielding but getting Grant on a free was an excellent piece of pre-season business.

I would get lee camp he's been released

Why would leicester want steele they have schmecial come on think

Kasper Schmeicel (Sorry for spelling) is wanted by 2 prem teams can't remember who though

schmeichel is a targer for hull

30 May 2013 20:43:40
Ed any Ipswich news? {Ed003's Note - nothing new sorry,still very early days}

Rumours in north east reckon killganon to sign for Ipswich mate

Believe your looking at Kirk Broadfoot from Blackpool.

Matt Kilgallon and Marlon Pack are looking likely pal

30 May 2013 19:33:17
Ex-Oldham youth player Cameron Mason set to return to the north west club for a small fee from Chesterfield.

30 May 2013 22:25:22
I know the guy personally and he's happy in Chesterfield

WHAT! This lad is 17yrs old and done nothing where's he going the Dog and Duck

He is, but he's desperate for games. Loan to non league more likely I think - js

This LAD has big talent! Been scoping him out for a while now. Lots of potential he just needs more support from what I've seen.

What has cameron Mason got to do with Chesterfield?

30 May 2013 19:25:58
Wolves, Millwall, Barnsley and Bournemouth are keen on Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson.

Paul smith to Brentford! Have a day off mate! He used to play for us years ago ain't no way he's coming back when we've got Simon Moore who interesting clubs like Manchester United and Richard lee and ex premier league goalie and at least championship keeper! He can come if he would like to play for outer development squad I guess lol

Can't see Bournemouth wanting him

Where has Paul smith come from?

Try at least a million for zakuani

Forrester to join Ipswich, as a Brentford fan I'm not that disappointed as he isn't all that great, he is so inconsistent, doesn't work hard for the team, doesn't defend, so not too upset to see the back of him, Donaldson not leaving because of his age

30 May 2013 19:40:18
Middlesbrough are looking to offload scott Mcdonald again.
They are looking at 15-20 possible summer targets.

Source - ex boro player and neighbour.

Billy Sharp Southampton
Sammi ameobi Newcastle
Shola ameobi. Newcastle
Michael thwaite - perth glory
Chris brunt - free
Grant mccann - free
Sow - lens
Danny graham - agent looking to agree deal within the next 2 weeks, possible loan till xmas so far. di canio wants to sell rather than allow out on loan but boro need to sell first.
St ledger - free

Danny Graham does seem a possible target but would he come back and give the ciub a second chance? It seems an Ameobi is a distinct possibility. After Hignetts blab in the Gazette maybe Shoela is more likely but I would prefer Sammy. As for the rest who knows? I am NOT holding my breath

Chris Brunt is a key player for WBA, Sharp will sign for Nottingham Forest permanently, Grant McCann is set to sign a new deal with Posh. Sammy Ameobi will get his chance in 2013, Shola has more respect for Newcastle than to join their rivals and Danny Graham you can't afford and if Sunderland were to sell, there would be quite a few prem takers, poor post

Is their a single Championship club not after Billy Sharp?

St ledger would be welcome back to boro. he played well under southgate but fell out with strachan (who didnt?). Chris brunt would amazing and has worked with Mogga at W. B. A but ebanks blake has been off the boil for sometime now and we need a solid striker.

30 May 2013 23:39:36
and where will boro get this money from?

Sharp, no struggles to get 10 goals a season. Sammi and Shola yes, boro are interested in them both. Thwaite one goal in 20, no way! Brunt, wages will be really high, but a good signing if it happens. Sow would also be good and realistic. Graham in 2 minds about, he may score a few goals in the championship, but for a short loan, may not be able to do much, and cardiff are favourets to sign him.

Bad post. I kept some of the larger targets of it.
Boro have money to spend and their are lots of big name players going for nothing.
You mention boro struggling to pay grahams wage, what money do you think mcdonald is on.
Boro are looking to sell Emnes, mcdonald and big juke. watch this space.

'St Ledger would be welcome back to boro. he played well under southgate'. Are you for real?! He was absolutely terrible. One of the worst centre backs we've had in a long time.

31 May 2013 09:22:20
Served Danny Graham at work other day. I was cheeky and asked if he was coming back on loan he neither confirmed or denied just a rised smile. His missus is from teesville so you never know he has ties still to the area

Thwaite one goal in 20? he's a centre back.

St ledger would be welcomed back after doing well he was a disaster fans didn't really take to him always good for a goal though

Why would Mowbray want to sell Jutkiewicz?

Juck is terrible let him go

Jutkiewicz is not terrible, he scored 10 goals in 20 games last season, that means if he plays a full season he'd be getting 20+ goals

30 May 2013 19:13:04
Andrew Davies to sign 3 year deal with Bradford City on his return from Holiday. Has clause in his deal that means he will be highest paid player at the club and if anyone comes in on more during his contract then his money will be upped!!!

What absolute rubbish. Could see Davies signing again, as he loves the club, but it would only be for a year, maybe two if we are lucky, maybe with a promotion clause to extend by two years say.

30 May 2013 20:03:38
Stevenage to tempt Hartlepool midfielder Andy Monkhouse south by offering Pools 75,000. He is believed to be keen on championship football. {Ed029's Note - Keen on Championship football but prepared to go to Stevenage in League 1?

Boro also keen on cash-strapped Bury's Andy Bishop

Cash strapped Bury? I think you missed the takeover news.

Cash-strapped? Not any more we're not. We're not oil rich but we certainly ain't broke as we were before

31 May 2013 00:06:41
Cash strapped? get with the times! we have been took over by a mulit millionaire?

Cash strapped or not, it would still be nice to get bish off the payroll.

Please get rid of bishop! the revolution at gigg lane has begun!

Andy Bishop has five offers available to him and an agreed release (contract termination by mutual consent) at Bury.

30 May 2013 20:02:03
Yakubu on his way back as 'NO' Premier League clubs want him. {Ed029's Note - Back where?

Middlesbrough?

Bournemouth are getting dunk bristol city are getting flint he just has to agree personal terms

30 May 2013 20:01:48
Bristol city to sign lewis dunk who has been released by brighton after complications with a deal for swindon defender.

Dunk has not been released. Has 18 months remaining on contract and valued at £1m. Dream on chick!

Hey chick, you can't be a proper Brighton fan! As he is out of contract, signed a one year deal 11/12. Although can't see him going to Bristol!

02 Jun 2013 12:28:49
Dunk can go

Liverpool to move for Swansea target Romelu Lukaku

Funny, considering Mourinho has said he intends to make Lukaku his main man and that he will not be going anywhere

Liverpool go after everyone swansea wants

Stop making up lies, the special one has indicated that he's in his plans.

Lukaku will stay

Iago Aspas already set for Liverpool. Augbameyang targeted by bigger clubs. I just hope at the end Swansea still gets quality. Hope Sinclair goes back to Swansea. I really enjoyed watching them last season

30 May 2013 19:37:48
Hi does anyone know what is happening about Gus poyet

He lives in a house. He'll have breakfast, go for a walk, have dinner, perhaps do something in the afternoon and then have tea. He'll go on the toilet in between all that.

He'll read a book at night. Probably.

He wants to go manage in Spain - Fact.

30 May 2013 19:37:05
wba are certs to sign free agent sean maloney.

Why bother. seriously.
For a start he is not a free agent, He sined a new contract at Wigan earlier this year, pretty sure it was a 2 year extension, so he's got 2 years at least. Wigan will want a minimum of 3 million for him, and he has come oput three times that I know of saying he's staying.

He may go, but he will go for £3-4 million at a guess.

31 May 2013 08:39:40
He has been spotted by many at the Hawthorns and so West Brom is likely but now Martinez is surely going to Everton, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he chose there.

30 May 2013 19:17:16
Jamie Patterson is attracting interest from Burnley, the club will approach Walsall with a 1. 25m offer

Burnley don`t spend that sort of money.

Burnley won't need another striker balldock coming in for 500k sharp in as swap deal for Austin possibly wells aswell with also at the club vokes Patterson ings plus we wouldn't spend over a million on a league 1 unproven player

Paterson isn't a striker though, he's a winger. Plus, Burnley would have to be out of their minds to do a straight swap for Billy Sharp with Austin going to Saints. Austin's worth twice Sharp's value

Paterson will go if around £1m is offered and i'm saying this as a Walsall fan. Only one year left on his deal and so would be a fair price. Good talent though and has improved his all round game in the last year under Smith. Would love him to stay but good luck to him if he goes.

"Paterson is not a striker though". errrrrm yes he is

"Ooohh no he's not" -_-

He sometimes play striker when playing 4-3-3 but plays winger when playing
4-5-1

As a long term season ticket holder at Burnley I can confirm that although Martin Paterson has played out wide on a number of occasions it was done to get him on the pitch. the guy is a striker. end of.

As a long-term Burnley season ticket holder, I can confirm you are talking about the wrong person - the discussion is whether Jamie Paterson (our rumoured transfer target) is a winger; not what position Martin Paterson (our will-he-won't-he-stay player) plays.

30 May 2013 18:27:23
Marvin Johnson is set to sign for Crewe from Kidderminster Harriers. Kidderminster will replace him with Wes York of Nuneaton Town or Marley Watkins of Hereford

30 May 2013 18:57:44
Southampton are lining up a £4m bid for Brighton winger Will Buckley

Great player at Championship level but definitely not a Premier level talent.

At £4m you are are welcome to take him. More the fool you, we paid £1m for him, and that's his appropriate level.

Good luck with that one!

Possibly, but I think Southampton are looking for more quality than Buckley. They need to improve on last season.

Buckley's worth more than that to Brighton. At least £6m

Buckley has looked good all season. Very good signing if possible, provides depth and competition, as well as the pace and delivery we need for next season

6m?! Come on. be honest with yourself!

30 May 2013 18:51:31
Western Daily Press confirms Brian Saah (Torquay) and Jamie Cureton (Exeter) are set to sign for Cheltenham. A deal for Luke Rooney from Swindon is also set to follow. These deals are widely reported and accepted.

Strong rumours suggest the Rubies are also chasing Jack Midson from AFC Wimbledon with Paul Benson (Swindon) the back up in case that deal goes through.

Complete change of squad at Cheltenham then the amount of players that are rumoured to be interesting and talking to Cheltenham beggars belief but the same thing last year and the year before ooops silly me this I a rumours site ( and probably wishful thinking by a Cheltenham fan )

31 May 2013 10:37:54
So Midson is going to Rotherham, Southend and now Cheltenham?! He's going to be a busy man isn't he?

You think Midson will be busy? Look at Marlon Pack mate, he's playing in midfield for every League One and Champ side next year!

Dons forward L Moore attracting interest from Crawley and Wycombe as he stalls over his contract offer

Midson won't be at Cheltenham next season, mark my words.

Bradley bubb to leave woking for wimbledon-get in

Ha nice - good luck if you get Bubb, more than ready for League Two. Since we have an AFCW fan on here, where's Midson going? Any ideas?

Midson has a year left on his contract, and seems very keen to stay at Wimbledon. Can't see him leaving, tbh. Luke Moore might go, but he's nowhere near as good as Midson.

30 May 2013 18:50:05
Kilmarnock after signing Nathan Tyson from derby they could have him on a free with derby looking to pay up his contract

Lol. I'll pay up his contract, and would have done 8 months ago if I thought it would have got rid of him.

Wages, Wages, Wages.

Tyson is one of the highest earners at Derby and they are looking to get rid. If Kilmarnock can meet Tyson's requirements he will be gone as soon as possible.

30 May 2013 23:57:39
no possible?

30 May 2013 18:45:44
Burton to sign 11 players and 2 of them are belived to be Alex McDonald and James Knowles and Matt Patterson to sign new contract

McDonald is stalling as Plymouth now want him back. It is Dominic Knowles, he has signed a year and will play mainly reserve football. Paterson must sign shortly, cannot afford to lose him.

Why an earth would Macdonald go to plymouth, ye he was on loan there but Burton done better and he was on loan there till the end of the season, plus he said he loved it again and would consider joining them again.

Because he and his family lived it at Plymouth. If Plymouth offer him a decent deal he will join us. If not little old Burton will be his second choice.

30 May 2013 18:39:12
Simon church having "positive" talks with oldham athletic - massive coup if the latics snap up the welsh striker

Doubt this is true to be honest. Church turned down Millwall in January because of wages. Now he's considering Oldham, who were paying their top striker less than £500 a week last season? Come on.

Don't get too excited we had him at Huddersfield, was injured a lot, and when he was fit wasn't too impressed with him, doesn't look like he's got that many goals in him either

If your referring to matt smith as oldhams top striker then you are a fool. He is a very poor striker

Top stiker?. £500 a week not sure you have your facts quite right there

Top striker now, but at the start of last season he was a poor player who was in the wrong career. amazing how fans think he is awesome when he scored a few goals against decent opposition in the cup

Never has been a top striker! We are talking about the same mat smith right?

He pretty much saved us from relegation, he's becoming a very good league 1 player and is still a fairly young age

30 May 2013 18:30:00
Leeds and reading both intrested in signing charlton cameroon defender cedric evina the former arsenal trainee has turned down a new contract at the valley

Please buy Kebe. He has been a good servent for the club but he doesn't always turn up, shows brilliance at times and then flops the next game. 3-4million would be great so we can re-invest in the team.

How is evina leaving why would he turn down a new contract, he's played like 6 games and he makes mistakes, good player but he should be begging to stay

Evina wouldn't be a Leed's target for me, says a lot that Arsenal let him go, only for him to find a home at Carlisle before moving onto Charlton.

He'll no doubt be a Sheffield United player by the end of the transfer window.

30 May 2013 18:28:38
Heard a rumour Wigans Callum McManaman is being approached by Southampton FC and Spurs.

He'd go to Spurs out of those two. Doesn't matter though as he's going nowhere

He will sign for spurs

Could be true as soton are linked with just about everyone, but it won't happen, he can do much better, easily a top 8 team, probably Everton

Cant see anyone taking him right now. Out for up to 3/4 months and then he will need re-hab and then a month or so to get match fit.

He will stay at Wigan but may attract some interest in the January window, especially as one ortwo start to panic buy.

If I were him I'd choose Southampton out of those two as you'd get a more likely chance at playing more often. Although don't think he should leave Wigan until January or maybe next summer to see if he can get them promoted back to the big time.

Wouldn't necessarily go to Spurs.

Saints can match Spurs wages easily and could offer him more of a chance of first team football.

Although not sure Saints would want him, got a lot of talented youngsters of our own coming through.

Don't think we (saints) want him. We scout more extensively than on the basis of a few good games and have more targets abroad who are better

He's going nowhere? I think you'll find if the right offer comes he'd leave and it would more likely be saints as they could offer him more first team chances than spurs

If spurs loose bale they are automatically a very average team, I would rather join southamptons squad thatn tottenhams (with the exeption of bale) they are an ageing team, southampton are a young progressive team full of talent, and what with southampton being incredably wealthy I would imagine the lad will sighn forsouthampton

st stuie

I would imagine given the choice he would join spurs. Southampton fan

Spurs without bale is an average squad which lacks depth that avb gets the best out of. They will have to spend heavily in the summer if they hope to finish in top 4.

Check. mate.

well said st stuie

Yes but for the fee they'd get for Bale they're likely to sign a couple of classy players aren't they?

30 May 2013 18:28:18
Jon Walters is set to leave Stoke following the appointment of Mark Hughes. Celtic, Cardiff, Hull and Crystal Palace are all interested in the £4 million rated Ireland international

4? try 6mil and you got a deal a top class striker totally underrated

Don't want him much rather have Gary Hooper.

Good luck trying to get Gary Hooper, He's close to agreeing a new deal at Celtic

I'd rather have Julie Walters at that price. DH

30 May 2013 18:28:03
Norwich City transfer rumours:
Outs:
Fox
Barnett
Vaughan
Ayala
Surman
Bennett - loan
Butterfield - loan
Steer - loan
Rudd - loan

Ins:
Davies
Van ginkel
Redmond/kebe
Ince/Phillips
Arter/Maloney
Austin/hooper/mbokani

Van Ginkel & Maloney are 2 I would love to see at CR but I seriously hope we don't get Hooper (2nd rate IMO) we should be looking at a better class than that

30 May 2013 20:25:09
Norwich City will not sign Thomas Ince or Matt Phillips as they have signed new deals with Blackpool and with Snodgrass, Elliott Bennett and Antony Pilkington all bought from the championship and Redmond will sign, but not Ince or Phillips as well

Bennett will go back to Brighton

Thats a bit ambitious. I hope it's true though. Van Ginkel and wolfy, two Dutch Internationals in the squad would be more than pleasing.

Forgot to mention:
Van ginkel/N'zonzi/Defour
Redmond/Mcmannaman/Kebe

Would be happy with these signings

30 May 2013 23:31:24
pilks was from league one actually

Doubt you'll sign any of the above.

31 May 2013 00:12:42
Steer going to Carlisle United not sure if loan or permenent

We will sign a few of these hopefully. Hopefully not N'zonzi (person), kebe or hooper.

31 May 2013 11:16:05
Bennett won't be going anywhere. not a chance, he is firmly in the CH plans, best is yet to come from him. (also he has never played in the champ).
Redmond is the most likely out of this list for obvious reasons, possibly Maloney but there could be a bidding war for him and can't see us winning it.
expect another bid for hooper. you don't try that hard in jan just to lose interest a few months later.

Carlisle could not afford Steer. bright future!

31 May 2013 11:40:26
Steer will only be going out on loan. Not a chance he will sign for Carlisle on a perm. Seen as a big talent for the future.

I can't see us beating Chelsea to van Ginkel, unless he back out on a loaner like Lukaku at WBA.

30 May 2013 18:20:19
Steve Mildenhall has signed for Bristol Rovers on a two year deal.

30 May 2013 18:16:54
LJ on Baxter: "Johnson also confirmed the club has received no offer for top scorer Jose Baxter, whose 15 goals did much to steer Athletic from relegation.

Baxter has two years left on his contract and it would take a large fee to take him away. "

Also on the Vigurs front: "Johnson remains hopeful of signing the new player he had hoped to bring in last week, though he doesn't anticipate any developments in the next few days.

Ross County playmaker Iain Vigurs has been strongly linked with a switch, but the club isn't revealing names. "

Source- Oldham Chronicle

This deal is no more due to the player, let some other club have him.

Lj won't be messed about so BYE BYE.

Vigurs deal is broken now. Offered a 2yr deal and he wanted 1 yr deal.

Rather play at Arbroath away maybe with Rangers than Wolves away with Oldham.

Not bothered anyway as we find a player who is interested in playing for LJ

Vigurs deal broken down. He only wanted 1 year, we wanted him to sign a 2 year deal. Who needs a wannabe 'Bosman' repeat offender anyway?

He is a quality signing and was county's player of the season. With the chance of getting a lad like this, on a free especially, we should take as long as it takes.

30 May 2013 18:16:28

Lukaku's agents is currently in talks with West Ham over a possible season long loan deal. Looks 95% this will happen but will need permission to happen when the vaccine of the Chelsea job has been filled. It is certain to be Mourinho and it will be his choice to keep him or let him go on loan to West Ham for the season.

Hasn't Jose M already indicated he won't let him out on loan and sees him as the new Drogba?

As already said, mourinho said Lukaku won't being going out on loan

I reckon "The Special One" will keep him this time around

leeds look set to sign 3 players with matt mills, tommy spur and jerome thomas set to sign

Matt Mills, the first of the longballers to arrive. Brace yourselves; the Reading model under McDermott was huff, puff and hoof ball. It's coming!

We're not interested and have made no approach for Thomas - confirmed by YEP

Why would we want spurr when we already have 3 left backs at the club he's no better

Matt Mills, start the car Bolton fans. We have found a mug, I mean buyer!

We played our best football end of season no hoof ball in sight

31 May 2013 01:15:40
Only interest there would be Mills, played his best football under BMD and gained a 5mil price tag, so in BMD we trust M. O. T

I think a fit Mill's could be a good signing, although that's a big if with his recent track record, and I think the 5m price tag is abit of a reach as at that time Leicester we're paying anything for players.

Tommy Spurr is a simple reply - NO!

and Jerome Thomas just isn't that interested in Leeds to come back.

30 May 2013 17:56:18
richard dunne is a shock target of newly promoted hull city and relegated qpr.

Dunne to QPR is the perfect signing, need another experienced, passionate player

Would be a great signing we will lose samba, Ferdinand and max ehmer in the coming months so we need a centre back with hill so if we get dunne it can be a real promotion hope with two veterans at the back and Onouha and either Traore or yun-suk young

30 May 2013 22:48:33

cardiff look set to land reading winger jimmy kebe

Have him. he will be good until he gets injured and then won't be seen for 3 months. talented but far too injury prone.

Please take him

Don't want him tbh and I know Malky won't cause every time we have played against Reading, Kebe seems lazy, Malky definitely won't go after him for that reason

Don't take him! He's brilliant and I've always thought he was good since he arrived at Reading. When he recovers he'll be great for the championship.

30 May 2013 17:48:05
Burnley have targeted Sam Baldock has an ideal replacement for Martin Paterson if the striker turns down a contract from Burnley

Pato will sign. he loves the club

Paterson is distinctly average. Never been the same since his injuries. Squad player at best but if we are relying on him and vokes to put the ball in the net I fear for our champ status. Raid Walsall brentford Crewe and Peterborough with a couple of loanees as well.

30 May 2013 17:26:03
With Steve Mildenhall now signed on a two year deal. Bristol Rovers are now hoping to tie up the signings of John Joe O'Toole, Ellis Harrison and Amin Linganzi in the next two weeks. They have also made an offer to Peter Leven.

John Ward has been speaking with Ryan Burges' agent and is still keen to explore Tom Hitchcock returning on a season long loan at the Mem. The latter may be delayed right to the start of the new season whilst QPR sort out who will be managing their club next season.

Ian Holloway has discussed with John Ward the feasibility of Jason Banton joining on an initial loan to December 2013. the explosive attacking midfielder would certainly excite the Gas fans.

Eliot Benyon is preferred to Jamie Cureton as another potential signing but this depends on a number of issues among which is Fabian Broghammers contract option.

Jamie Cureton looks like he's going to Cheltenham so Rovers preferring Benyon may not be an issue.

Several team are linked with the youngster but the one that leads the race are Middlesbrough who finished 16th last season and are looking for that something special which they hope is Watt.

Weve got to many left mids already, adam reach and muzzy are much better than him. UTB

Adam reach is a right mid and watt has more experience so that was wrong

Reach can play any where but watt is a poor player, and i'd rather have sammy than that pile of s****

Bought him for £300k, with a possible rise to £800k actually

Flopped, more like ignored. He is extremely talented when allowed to play, or fit to play.

Never going to happen. Kevin Davies is not the sort of player that Zola would be looking for.

Why would he be any good for Watford we play the ball on the floor

They couldn't extend it to next season as the owner who comited the illagal acts has since left the club

Embargo ends when the window closes. Also, the embargo isn't as strict as many think. Watford are still able to conduct transfer business as long as it is all approved by the football league.

Try August 31st for the embargo

The embargo doesn't mean we can't sign players we just have to ask permission first

The embargo stops on 31 August, even then it won't stop the club signing players if they comply with the requirements laid down by the FL.

The 'embargo' ends on August 31st. It's still irrelevant as we can sign who we want subject to the FA's approval, so it shouldn't hinder our business at all.

From what I read provided that the deal is above board the football league will sign it off. I assume that any transfer between the various clubs owned by the Pozzo family will be for nominal fees or free transfer

Either way, as August 31st is a Saturday they may stretch this to September 1st. As our "embargo" would end before that. we can sign players whether or not the embargo allows us to. {Ed003's Note - they are on about extending the window until the Monday as the 31st August fall on a Saturday.}

Charlton and Wednesday interested in pack who has rejected two new deals from Cheltenham

30 May 2013 16:15:16
Ipswich are close to agreeing deals with Marlon Pack and Matt Kilgallon. Both should be signed and announced by Monday

Pack sitting deep, McGowan pushing forward, Grant/Brands/Tabb on the wings. as rumours go. it's sounding like a strong midfield.

Crystal palace summer transfer window rumours

-Outs
Jermaine Easter, millwall, 100k-500k (almost certain after sucsessful loan spell)
Aaron Wilbraham, released (very likely after terrible season)

-Ins
Albert Adomah, bristol city, 1m-3m (likely could link up with former team mate yannick bolasie as replacement for zaha)
Peter Odemwingie, WBA, 3m (possible due to unrest at WBA also palace looking to strengthen strike force as murray out for upto 9 months)
Tom Ince, blackpool, 8m-12m (possible as ince looking to make big impact in prem but he won't go cheap)
Glenn Whelan, stoke, 2m-6m (50/50 not a great season with stoke also not overly happy with team mates, he could be on the move)
Charlie Austin, burnley, 5m-8m (why not, he's young, wants to make it big in the prem and full of potential)
Scott Sinclair, Manchester City, 3m-8m (could move after not getting many chances last season and he also knows the coaching staff at palace are top quality & would fill the void zaha left)

- Easter has moved to Millwall on a free on a 1 year deal
- Sinclair will go to somewhere better than Palace, maybe Everton or Swansea
- Some of the valuations are a bit out but the targets are realistic other than Scott sinclair

I don't want Glenn Whelan for that kind of money actually I don't want him at all

30 May 2013 18:40:05
Easter signed on a free

As a Blackpool fan I know you're champing at the bit for Ollie to sign big names. but it just won't happen.

Nobody wants to sign for a club that's going to go up one season and may just come down the next. and have their wages slashed.

I wish you well and you should enjoy the ride. but don't expect a massive change in the team that won the play offs

Easter has already signed for Millwall and it was on a free.

Lovely rumours mate! don't make me laigh! There is such a price difference in every player, we might get him between 2m-6m! I think millwall might get rid of trotter this summer for around 1m-7m!

8-12m big gap where do you make this rubbish up

Your chairman said we want the best squad we can for the least amount of money. And that is a quote so that rules out. Charlie Austin and Tom Ince so whatever your source is I'd sack them

Millwall have already signed Jermaine Easter on a free transfer

There are reasons why a number of those players wouldn't be keen to join Palace. Well done to them for getting up but it'll be a slog to stay there; why would Ince or Austin join when they will have offers to go to clubs that start stronger? Ditto Sinclair; a rotten season but last summer's must-have isn't going to end up at Palace. Yes, Odemwingie if you'll take the chance on his character, Adomah who may not get a better PL offer (good player though) and Whelan who's merely competent at PL level are possible but it reads more like a wish list than rumours.

30 May 2013 22:46:18
Charlie austin no chance altho you have got the valuation spot on but he won't leave burnley for palace he will most probably end up at an established club like villa

Adomah is on his way to turf moor not palace wants first team football and coming in a joint deal with baldock for 1.5 million

Albert Adomah is definitely not premier league quality but that's upto Palace, Odemwingie is good but unreliable and trouble as shown at WBA. Ince is a good player a bit of a stretch at 12m for an unproven player maybe 7-8m. Charlie Austin wouldn't go for less than 7m and as for Whelan he made up with Jones but with Hughes as manager he could go and Scott Sinclair you cannot afford his wages

Completely fabricated no truth in this, Glenn has had a fantastic season (best in 6 years) and is going no where

Burnley have "NO" chance of signing Adomah.

Apparently sean dyche coming to millwall with charlie austin and brien jenson somthing like that

If Baldock moves to Burnley (unlikely) it will be for £1.5m on his own.

I have been led to believe BFC don't have that sort of transfer budget.

30 May 2013 15:54:02
Barnsley to sign Paddy McCourt who will not be offered a new contract by current club Celtic

Barnsley to get new chairman next week in ex man united director Maurice Watkins so expect some big signings

Why have we brought a new chairman in when the club was in the black, if its not broken don't mend it, I don't think our new chairman will be putting any money in, he s on too many boards for my liking

The person talking about chairmen. How many players have we lost for pittance thru badly drawn up contracts no one really took our chairman seriously. This man is a big deal and has great contact networks. Welcome him in he's clearly an ambitious man aswell as flitcroft and their enthusiasm may bring in real investment to the club and lure some quality players too. Welcome to barnsley Maurice!

Cant b any worse than that clown rowing

Rowing isn't the chairman.

Rowing might not have been the chairman, but he's definitely a clown!!

He won't bring in no money but its better than not having a chair man

Barnsley haven't had a chairman for a few years think Shepard was the last one.

30 May 2013 15:52:04
With top scorer Michael Higdon stalling on a new contract and almost certain to be off, the club have sounded out Blackburn about taking David Goodwillie on loan for next season.

After missing out on Andy Dawson, Southend United are looking to sign left back Grant Basey.

30 May 2013 15:47:01
I heard of adel tarrabt coming to watford?

Watford aren't allowed to sign anyone. {Ed029's Note - They have to seek permission first, but they can still make signings.

Doubt Watford would get anywhere near his wages at QPR so think unlikely

Wages?

Wages too high for Watford

All style, no substance. An overpriced, less useful, Forestieri.

I hope not. He thinks he's better than he is and, whilst he'd certainly do a job in the Championship, he's shown he just can't cut it consistently enough in the Premiership, which is where we are aiming to be next season.

You were informed incorrectly

Charlton set to offer Gillingham's Joe Martin a 2 year contract.

30 May 2013 15:03:13
John Guidetti is set for a loan move to doncaster as Paul Dickov goes back to one of his former clubs to bring in some young talent.

Also rumoured Billy Sharp is set to move to a Championship side, possibly a return to doncaster on the cards?

Billy Sharp won't go back. There are clubs who would pay more than Donny.

I wouldn't want Sharp back at Donny, he is not interested in joining in build up play and if he doesn't score he might as well not be on the pitch.

Personally I'd love to see sharp back at Donny he's practically a legend there. But the problem is that he we got rid of decent players like Dean Shiels last year to make room for a wage budget to offer sharp a new contract of about £11,000 a week and he still went to Southampton. He's a great man and a very good player but you have to respect the fact we don't have the money for him at this time.

Agree don't want him back if he thinks he'd prem quality, he's proved he isn't

31 May 2013 13:01:52
Sharps a legend at donnny what you talking about?^

A terrible season predicted for Doncaster I see.
Typical of John Ryan stating his ambition with a cheap rubbish option for a manager. and will invest no money in new players despite it being their.
The players they have currently got are last season Championship outcasts, they had better players in their team last time they got relegated. All these high profile names getting thrown about as well will not sign for a club they no are going to be in a relegation battle getting beat every week in front of a small crowd in an empty stadium.

anything above a bottom place finish for Rovers next season will be an achievement. I can see them setting a record of low points in a season

^
Nice and positive

Then get your own money out, no. Matter how much, and put it into the club. Stop moaning, this is one of the best periods of success in the clubs history!

I have just been looking at John Guidetti on the web. I would be delighted with this signing.

Legend is a bit much, Francis tierney was a legend

When Sharp was in the team he was lazy.
Yes he is a good finisher but I prefer the way the side was last season when we had lots of players who could score rather than just Billy hanging around in the box.

What? Billy was always chasing lost balls, harassing defenders AND scoring! Passionate about Doncaster definitely, return though doubt it, but would love to see him back

01 Jun 2013 17:47:24
Sharp is a legend at Doncaster he's a fan favourite it would bring in loads of crowds and he's named himself in the championship a few times now, I'm just worried about his price, Doncaster don't have any young strikers with brown getting on,

Loyal domcaster fan

Sharp was lazy? Catch yourself on. He was invaluable and to score 15 goals for a team in a relegation battle is not achieved by being lazy. He constantly worked and produced the goods. When he left we got relegated and that's no coincidence.

What does it matter if a player is lazy? If he sticks the ball in the net when the chances come and does so on a consistent form like he did for all the time he was at rovers including his loan then he's a important part of the team you arse

Brown getting on? He's 28?

If Sharp is so good then how come he ends up out of favour at Southampton and then frequently on the bench at Forest.
I will tell you why - because he isn't good enough to play at a high level.
He is not good at holding up the ball and very rarely gets involved in build up play - not acceptable for a modern day player.
Twenty years ago the goals would have been a good enough reason for him to be in the team but not in the modern day.
Give me a Chris Brown type of player any day.

Some of these comments are a joke! There are many people who thinks he's a good playe, how many goals you scored in you football career? On loan with us he scored 15 goals in 33 games I think, the season we sold him he was on for scoring more then 15, what does it matter if he's not in the build up? A strikers job Is to score that's it they are paid to put the ball in the net simple as that

03 Jun 2013 02:33:59
Sharp was a brilliant player for doncaster! His goal scoring record proves he was
On loan at donny he played 33 games scored 15 goals
First season being a full donny player 49 games 25 goals
He played 20 games scoring 10 goals then he was sold to saints where he went on to play 15 games scoring 9 goals, that to me shows a player who can play in the championship at his time at donny he basically averaged 1 goal ever 2 games how you can say that's lazy is pathetic he's a quality player

Funny isn't it then that everywhere else he goes he can't stay in the team.

What season did Sharp score 25 goals?
His best for Rovers was 16 goals.

Burton Albion News:

The Brewers are to unveil their first 3 signings of the summer early next week. These are:
Phil Edwards (Out of contract at Rochdale)
Alex MacDonald (Released from Burnley)
Adam McGurk (Out of contract at Tranmere)

Macdonald joining Plymouth

Edwards possible. MacDonald is being chased by Plymouth and McGurk will not drop to L2.

West Brom midfielder Scott Allan to join Burnley this summer, Burnley are also close to signing Free agents Gonzalo Jara & Kevin Davies. Burnley are also interested in Danny Haynes but the move depends on if Martin Paterson signs a new contract

Scott allan was poor in dev squad so doubt it,

Oldham Carlisle Tranmere Crewe Chesterfield Gillingham Port Vale and Rochdale all intrested in ex Huddersfield striker Alan Lee. It is believed Oldham Carlisle or Chesterfield are his prefered destination

Won't be Oldham as the fans don;t like him at all.

Doesn't score goals but he has a cracking right elbow on him! :)

He's 33 we won't go for him

Chesterfield will not bring in another striker so count us out

Once again Carlisle want player aged 20-22 he really fits in with that

None of them can afford £10,000 per week.

Nobody wants lee as he is all elbows in games and falls down very easy and is an awful striker.

Hes off to rochdale

Chesterfield have 3 strikers. A risk from the lower leagues of France, a forward who is relying on his second season form and a new signing. A fourth strikers wouldn't be ridiculous. As much as I have total faith in all 3 and think well go up 4 strikers seems better to me -js

Alan Lee will score goals if that's his brief from the manager. Just a pity he's perceived far too often as simply a target man. I remember Town being down and out against a strong running Bournmouth side in the play offs. Who netted twice for us that night to keep the tie alive, Alan Lee. he's scored some very valuable goals for Town coming on as a sub when our regular strikers have previously blanked. I for one would like to thank him for what he's done for us during his stay at Town.

119 goals in 546 games is a terrible ratio for any strikers career stats!

Is that a joke re Alan Lee scoring valuable goals! He didn't even play against Bournemouth. The guy was absolutely embarrassing for us at best. He got more red cards than he did goals for us away from home. The WORST value for money forward in our history. Absolute garbage.

Alan Lee, great bloke just didn't work out at Huddersfield with his scoring record. Will give 100% but strikers are ultimately judged on goals> Should be ok at league 1/2

So he does the some job lee miller did in the league, but scores less goals and makes less assits

Big Alan was an absolute legend at town, got the head of a god

Exeter City are set to sell young Northern Ireland U-21 striker to Crystal Palace for £250,000 up front and more based on appearances both for club and Internationally.

As part of the deal the striker will be loaned back to Exeter for next season with Palace paying his wages.

Exeter will use this money to offer Jamie Cureton and Matt Oakley fresh 1 year deals to remain with the club with coaching roles tied into the deals.

Well if true then get in but doubt that will happen : (

Who is this player?

Jamie Reid

Brighton will announce the sacking of manager Gus Poyet this weekend after the Uruguayan has been suspended for two weeks.
The Championship side are wanting to make Milton Keynes Dons manager Karl Robinson their new man after being impressed with the building the 32 year old has done with the League 1 club.

Poyet will be sacked but Robison won't take Brighton job he is not on the bookies

Hope that Brighton don't go after KarL Robinson not the right man to take over from Gus to keep the momentum going

I think Poyet will leave, but I find Robinson highly unlikely. We need a manager with experience, not only that, but experience in top flight leagues like the BPL or Championship.

I have been told by somebody inside the club they are seriously looking at Carl Robinson and have been for a while, apparenly he fits the mould the club are looking for, not sure myself, one thing is for sure Tony Bloom will make the right decision.

Poyet will go but need someone with experience looking like Harry

Sheffield United are in talks with Grimsby Town manager Rob Scott over the possibility of the 39 year old becoming the new boss at Bramall Lane.
The United board was impressed with how Scott managed the Lincolnshire team in the Blue Square Premier this season and Scott also spent three years at United from 1993.

Nobody wants the poisoned chalice that is Sheffield Utd.

30 May 2013 14:12:43
Portsmouth will sign Graham Cummins this summer. The Irish striker is fed up with sitting on the bench at Preston and is set to shine in League 2

100% let him go not been great at north end.

We don't need another striker!

Will score goals in div 2 he is not that bad just messed about under that person westley

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson is wanting to add four new faces to his promoted squad and is keen on challenging for a top half finish in League 1.
The first is thought to be Burton Albion goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson. The 28 year old impressed Parkinson in League 2 last season and is thought to be great competition for current stopper Matt Duke.
City are also chasing injury prone Leyton Orient defender Scott Cuthbert. The former Swindon defender is highly rated at the London club but could be made available for transfer if a decent bid comes in after having a injury ridden season.
The third shortlisted is experienced midfielder Mark Gower. The 34 year old was released by Swansea City and has received short term offers from Championship clubs. The former Southend and Barnet player is keen on more security and if offered a two year deal at Valley Parade, he could be keen to take it.
The final player City want is MK Dons player George Baldock. The 20 year old midfielder has been told he can leave on loan next season and prove he can play at League 1 level. City are keen on taking a punt on the former IBV loanee and want a six month deal sorted.

Cuthbert signed a new two year contract a few weeks ago.

Cuthbert just signed a 2 year contract so that's a lie

Tomlinson is rubbish, our current GK is McLaughlin, Duke is back up. We have enough defenders at the club, all we need is one LB and the LB we are looking at signing is Ryan Dickson. Mark Gower will not come to League 1, neither would we take a fellow League 1 club's player on loan. Total rubbish.

All of this is tosh; Duke set to be released, PP has extended GK Jon McLaughlins contract. The rest are names you've plucked out of nowhere without any research.

Quite a good post, but the one thing that won't happen, at least for another season, is Scott Cuthbert leaving Orient. Reasons, He has just signed a new contract. He has just stated he is really happy at Orient, and has now settled in London with his partner.

Current stopper Duke he hasn't played since February - he's off or into a coaching role- only Burton player worth looking at is maghoma

Baldock is in our plans he's not going anywhere

Vardy won't come

Gower has already signed a2 year deal with Charlton, Britt assombalonga has also signed a new 2 year deal with parent club Watford.
Please get some sporting knowledge & then you could post something with some substance.

Tomlinson is quality. Far better than either of the keepers at Bradford. Burton will not let him go.

Tomlinson is one of the worst keepers in the division. Phil Parkinson would be foolish to sign him. In a simple comparison, Jon McLaughlin was far better in both play off legs. We do not want him.

Duke will probably stay as he is keeper coach, and will be back up- good back up at that.

If we've got plans to loan out Baldock then it can only be that we've retained Potter & Gleeson (and possibly Williams) for next season. We'll be needing George if any of those three depart.

Would make a lot of sense.

Looking at the Burton keepers howler to let in Wells for the first goal of the second play off leg then I'd say he's simply not good enough

All we need is a goal-scoring mid fielder. Our defence is fine, Thompson and Reid are great wingers. And our strikers can score against anyone. I'd say a maximum of 3 signings this year, to up the competition in the squad. No goalkeeper needed in my opinion.

Tomlinson had a brilliant season for Burton desperately hope he stays at the Pirelli

30 May 2013 13:46:13
Joel Grant of Wycombe to sign for Ipswich Town when his contract ends on 1st July.

Southend united keeper paul smith is fetching interest from league 1 brentford and league 2 clubs york city and bristol rovers.
Smith looks likely to leave due to youngster Dan bentley impressing last term

Utter garbage. we don't want or need Pal Smith when we have Steve Mildenhall . way better than Smith.

We got middenhall don't need him

Hows that when rovers have just signed mildenhall you really couldn't make it up.

Rovers tied up their GK situation today with the top signing of Mildenhall.

Highly unlikely now Rovers have signed Mildenhal

York city expected to bid in the region of 25 k for smith

We got Simon Moore lol and Richard Lee at Brentford yes Smudger has played for us before but very much doubt we will be after him

30 May 2013 14:12:34
Norwich have rejected a bid for Grant Holt.
Overall a bid of £2-3m was made.
Race for Maloney from Wigan is led by the Canaries.
Wanting to leave the club after relegation.
Ince is a possible target.
Chelsea winger Marko Marin has been linked with a move to Carrow Road.
Hunt is on for Peterborough forward Dwight Gayle numerous clubs are interested.

Simeon Jackson on his way to Championship side.
Unfazed James Vaughan will stay and try to fight for his place.
Crystal Palace however want to sign the player on a permanent deal.
Hughton also tracking Bournemouth's Harry Arter.

Norwich are tracking Troy Deeney and not Dwight Gayle. Deeney is seen as a partner for Holt and not a replacement. Expect Becchio to be sold before the beginning of the season.

Completely ignoring the fact both Huddersfield and Derby have been in contact with Norwich concerning Vaughan, whereas Palace have said nothing linking them to him whatsoever

Arter won't leave Bournemouth he wouldn't get game time at Norwich

Maloney has stated he wants to stay. Plus what's the point in joining Norwich they're going to be battling relegation.

I'd literary sleep with every user of this site if we could get Marin. {Ed029's Note - Threats of that nature will earn you a lifetime ban ;)

^ Don't think anyone else will be bought in to 'partner' Holt, it is more about who is partnering RVW.

Marin lol

Yes, what is the point of a club signing players if they will be battling relegation.
oh right. to avoid the battle completely.

whats the point in battling mid-lower table championship in a declining team compared to joining an ambitious team on the up?

Norwich. on the up?. Now I've heard it all. Nailed on for relegation next time around. When youve done 8 seasons, won the FA Cup and qualified for Europe then I will listen.

Wigan Athletic are set to hold talks with Bolton manager Dougie Freedman after an approach for the 39 year old was accepted two days ago. Freedman only moved to Wanderers from Crystal Palace in October but is interested in Athletic after chairman guaranteed the new manager would have funds to take the squad back up into the Premier League.

Steve mclaren and owen coyle the faves, says it all, dream on. freedman staying with the super whites!

Yeh whatever why would do that?

Right club, wrong man. Owen Coyle is the first choice replacement

Martin o'neill!

If freedman will leave palace, he'll leave anyone!

30 May 2013 14:09:51
rumours are saying big mick mac is in advanced talks with wigan anyone else heard this?

I find this very hard to believe, I know odds aren't everything. But, the best odds I have seen on this are 66/1. Furthermore he has a contract until 2015 at portman road, this would mean Wigan would have to pay a considerable amount of compensation.

Cardiff to sign Joe Ledley and Gary Hooper for a combined fee of 9 million

Fulham to bid for Emiliano Insua in order to replace the departing John Arne Riise

Nigel Reo-Coker is to sign for Leicster in the next 48 hours after a very productive chat with manager Nigel Pearson

I know Insua personally and he's joining West Ham

Every time a player is wanted by fester city funny

Joe Ledley will never play for Cardiff again. The fans won't forget the money grabber and basically he is not good enough for the premier.

Joe Ledley came from Cardiff and he's in the first team at Celtic

Joe Ledley could play for us again but tbh he won't leave Celtic this season because he has already stated that he wants another season in the SPL and to play in the Champions League again

I'm not too sure about Hooper, to Celtic fans is he really that good? he scored a lot for Scunthorpe in the Champ that was 2-3 years ago so I don't know how good he has gotten now

Visiting Hoops fan here. Joe Ledley is immense. He had a few great games in Europe and is Mr Consistent. Hooper is also very good. He will score goals and scored a few In CL. Ledley is staying Hooper is going. Sopotcelt.

30 May 2013 12:56:51
Walsall to sign west brom 3rd choice keeper luke daniels on loan

No there not. random rubbish if your going to make it up make it a good keeper like this. Walsall to snap up sam Johnson after david moyes decides to release the young keeper. of course this is also not going to happen though wish it was.

30 May 2013 12:48:58

30 May 2013 14:30:45
Everton are wanting to make Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup their new boss. Chairman Bill Kenwright has been impressed with how the Brondby and Getafe manager manages the money and finds bargains.

Not true

If Chairman Bill Kenwright is a man of his word, Laudrup might be interested viewed in the light of Laudrups frustrations at Swansea at the moment.

Let's hope. But why would Martinez resign

Funny that, considering laudrups apparently complining he doesn't have enough money. and to add to that, its huw jenkins money management that's impressive no laudrups

Laudrups so called frustration is press lies, no actual statements to show any discontent by him or the club, budget & targets agreed months ago.

Laudrup is more frustrated that Huw is that slowly reacting and the transfer market. Laudrup wants his targets signed quicky and not at the end of the transfer window. Huw has a list of Laudrups preferred transfer targets and Aspas was on top of that list. But Huw did rely on Celta Vigos relegaton, which would mean, that Aspas would be available on the cheap, but Brendan Rodgers was quicker and more determined and signed Aspas in front of Huws nose. According to danish papers Laudrup was furious. But again it's paper talk, nobody in the public really knows.

30 May 2013 14:22:38
Newly installed Stoke boss Mark Hughes will be looking to add some firepower to his goal shy team. A bid in the region of £3-4 million is expected to go in for Watford's Troy Deeney. Hughes can expect stiff competition for his signature though from Norwich boss Chris Hughton.

He's got to be better than Cameron Jerome!

30 May 2013 16:17:02
Under the new Watford owners we don't need to sell on the cheap anymore, so that figure will have to be double

Wow that was quick he only got the job today and you no who's on his wish list 3hours later

I'm sorry but Norwich DO NOT want Troy Deeney! We're looking at far better players than him.

Not happening

I don't know, I'm a Watford fan, and I think 5-6m would be fair value for Deeney, realistically considering both his legal record and his previous years performances. Top player though.

Really frustrates me how a small portion of norwich fans are saying how we are better than troy deeney but I think he would be good for us, why not? he's been a monster this season and just looks like a better holt just because we spent money on RVW doesn't mean we are automatically to good to go for players who are in the championship, there's some huge talents in there

Troy Deeney is not that good of a player and got to be better than Cameron Jerome? no chance is he Jerome is quality

Doubt deeney would leave, he's loyal, he's just bought a new house and sign a new contract

Deeney's not leaving

Deeney is not good enough for Norwich in that he is not an improvement on any of our current strikers. If we are intending to improve our attacking options the benchmark is now RVW and the like.

Leyton Orient could be set to lose Russell Slade after the former Scarborough, Brighton and Grimsby boss handed his resignation in after the board refused him to talk to an un-named club.
Orient chairman Barry Hearn has already got his eye on a replacement after asking for permission to talk to John Schofield. Schofield is currently assistant manager at Gillingham but has Football League experience managing Lincoln City.
Schofield is keen on getting back into management and has revealed he wants youth team boss Andy Edwards as his assistant with him being at the club for four years.

Heard this as well to millwall

Where on earth do these people get their scripts from!
Even if Slade did go, there is not a chance in Heaven that Schofield would be next Orient Manager.

Page is 1/7 favourite for the Sheffield job. {Ed003's Note - Would you be happy with that appointment mate?must admit I thought it was a wind up the other day}

If Orient lose Slade, Barry Hearn will choose Andy Edwards for a trial period to see how things go.
I believe Andy could be very successful working with an experienced assistant.

I assume Russ would take Nugent with him.

Page could well do a good job, and would proberbly save united a great deal of money. He would most likely be on a short-term contract, and if it didn't work-out, it wouldn't cost them too much money to get rid.

Lets hope it is Page, and not Slade though.

Slade wants to back up north and sheffield united could be his next destination.

I heard Slade is favourite for the United job, and as someone who used to work there, I could see him going.

Hope not though.

Stoke to sign Djibril Cisse, Stephane Mbia and Taye Taiwo.

I quote 11 this morning from Peter coats. mark will say who comes and who goes he has full transfer control. So in 3 hours you have see mark Hughes player wish list and the fact he was in with the press since 2 then left with coats how you could possible no that is astounding

Wouldn't mind taiwo

No chance the only QPR player coming in will be Hoilett, the rest don't have their heads screwed on right

Ex QPR. I fear for Stoke under Hughes

No chance

I hope not Cisse too old, Mbia to high wages and Taiwo was a flop

I hope not cisse, I seem 2 remember him spitting at our fans during a match, don't want players like that

Would to love to keep Walters and Pulis and get rid off Jones and Hughes,

30 May 2013 13:57:55
Blackpool fc looking to sign out of contract 36 year old Kevin Davis but may have competition from a host of other championship clubs

Is that Kevin Davies or Kelvin Davis or both?

Kevin

Kevin Davis the ex Bolton striker who spent 10 years there Kevin Davis {Ed003's Note - Davies ;) }

Davies then

More chance of us signing Steve Davis as Karl has heard he is good at potting the white ball

We have a good chance he can join the rest of the OAP group we have or have had ferguson, k. phillips and ormarod

Ormarod has just got Wrexham to League 2. Kev Phillips has just got Palace to the Prem. and Ferguson has just got the drinks in at Mojitos in Lytham.

ALL LIVING LEGENDS

So is Kevin daviEs so he will join us hopefully

Heard two names said to be on Gary Johnsons list of possible targets for newly promoted Yeovil Town.

Scott Arfield to add some depth in midlfield and also said to be keen on Danny Haynes who he signed when at Bristol City

Haynes is hardly prolific

Neither will be joining yeovil

30 May 2013 13:46:21
Saints are lining up a £4m bid for Brighton winger Will Buckley.

As a Saints fan I do not no much about him, maybe some of you Brighton fans can shed some light on him, also is the price realistic?

He is under contract until 2017

He is staying with Brighton. Brighton fan

Unfortunately probably, although we have no manager.

He can be the best player on a team one day and then just stand there and do nothing on another but when on form he for fills that price tag

30 May 2013 16:57:42
I would only take 7 mill as a brighton fan I think he so good

If BHA could get £4m for him that would represent good business but depends on what the manager for next season, whoever that is, wants. He is a match winner on his day but like many of those doesn't have as many dass as perhaps he should

Good value at £4 million. He has scored 16 goals in 74 games for BHA which averages out at 2 goals every 9 games. Not bad for a winger.

No it's not realistic poyet said he is worth at least 10 million and won't sell him for less (I don't agree but he won't be sold for that little)

As a brighton fan I would say he is our best player and has only recently extended his contract so will be very costly, easily prem league quality and worth a price.

Please please please don't take him

He's just signed a new contract with the albion, so I'm not sure. He's also extremely inconsistent and this is coming from an Albion fan! Plus probably would cost more than 4m.

We/Poyet rejected a 5 millions bid from Swansea in January. So I doubt we'll accept 4mil now

Wouldnt take less than 7for him

However, if the new manager has a different style of play to Gus, may be deemed surplus, and £4mil will be good

It would take a pricey figure as he's on a long contract, plus he is a young winger with a lot of potential.

Pacey right winger. Can be very dangerous on his day. Needs to be more consistent although he may flourish more in a quicker style of play.

I'd be very disappointed if he was allowed to leave for less than the amount you quoted but I'd rather lose him than Bridcutt.

Thanks for the replies guys. It seems that there is mixed feelings about him, but going on what a lot of you said he seems to have potential and worth a bit more. I did watch the playoff semis but I didn't really take much notice of him.

I don't no how much truth is in this rumour, I can't even remember where I read it, might have been the echo.

Good luck for next season anyway, we need another south coast team in the prem and you are the closet thing we are going to have as a rival for a while.

Oh and I hope you get a better a manager then Gus, I have never liked him, NOT harry though, you will be in league two within 4 years.

30 May 2013 13:37:45
Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is keen to sign the experienced Eric Abidal who has just left Barcelona after six years.

Neil Taylor and Ben Davies already at the club for left back - try again

But Ben may be the one is is sold for big bucks to finance ML's shopping list

Ben and Neil are quality players, but do they have the experience at the highest level? That's probably what Laudrup might be looking for-if its true

Abidal played at centre back for barcelona for years. not necesssarily going to be a left back. would be good signing either way just for experience and helping the youngsters progress

Ben ain't leaving

30 May 2013 13:30:21

Would Andros Townsend be a loan deal?

Most likely, he's highly rated at Spurs.

Wolves to sign donaldson from brentford for £900 k plus add ons. Also interested in matty fryatt

No bids for Donaldson all talk

We haven't got a manager yet, so why bother with this rubbish.

No chance, nearly 1 mil for a player who is 29 and scored 29 in 90 games, don't think so

30 May 2013 12:54:05
Bradford City have made a loan bid for Jamie Vardy.

If so that will the 10th time since last summer he's been linked with city

Plymouth Argyle are interested in signing Swindon's Midfield pair Luke Rooney and former Loanee Lee Cox.
Despite Cox's currently injury Argyle are interested in making a move to form a solid Central Midfield partnership with Hourihane.

Meanwhile Sheridan has also indicated he'd like to get Jason Banton back on loan from Crystal Palace but only if Palace make him available.

30 May 2013 17:20:36
this was in our local paper in swindon!

Would like to see him back as his goals saved us from relegation. Not sure this will happen as Banton wasn't exactly popular amongst the Plymouth players. Branston was especially critical when he returned to Palace.

30 May 2013 12:20:02
"Rumour has it that we're closing in on a deal involving Bristol City's 24 year old defender, James Wilson. I heard the rumour and then my friend has said that he spotted Martin Allen around Failand where the first team train, last week. Wilson is coming to the end of his contract and I think he'd be a great capture for us to push Barrett and Legge for a place at CB. Has anyone seen the boy in action? I don't think he's getting a look in at City of late, especially given that City are closing in on Aden Flint from Swindon. "- just seen this on one of the Gillingham Fans Forums. Fingers crossed. UPTG!

When Wilson has played for us he's been solid and I rate him a good cb but not the best a good sighting for you

Martin Allen has been away on holiday and it wasnt anywhere near Bristol

When ever he has played he has done well he just never got enough games under his belt for us witch is a shame cause I think he could have been a decent defender for us

30 May 2013 12:02:30
Steve Evans is keen to use the loan window to bolster his attacking options at Rotherham after having several permanent enquiries already rejected this summer. On his radar is Jamie Vardy of Leicester, Chuba Akpom of Arsenal, Matt Tubbs of Bournemouth, David Goodwillie of Blackburn, Rory Donelly of Swansea and Chris Maguire & Gary Madine of Sheffield Wednesday. He hopes to add 1 of the above players to the permanent signing of Lyle Taylor from Falkirk which is pretty much a done deal.

Someone please tell me why we would want lyle taylor back because he was rubbish last time around?

30 May 2013 22:50:58
Lyle Taylor has never played for Rotherham. Your maybe thinking of Ryan Taylor or maybe even Jason Taylor?

^
It says we have pretty much signed him but it hasn't been made official. According to him anyway.

Goodwillie, is the best their, youth + class

Huddersfield are looking to bring in james vaughan, lee peltier, jonny russel, gary mackay-stephens, jamie patterson, fabian brandy and kenwyne jones.

Looking like Huddersfield going to be very attacking side may leak a few goals though

Kenwyne jones, even you can't believe that, you won't spend 5 million on a player

We (Hudds) need at least 3 permanent forwards & maybe another or a loanee.

I'm not sure about Brandy. Kenwyne Jones would be amazing, but I can't see it.

Stoke's Cameron Jerome I could see. He's from Hudds. although there are several chips on several shoulders there by the sound of past comments

PELTS- no
BRANDY -no
JONES-no
RUSSELL and MACKAY STEVENS-maybe, but probs not
VAUGHAN-yes

Can't see us making a move for Peltier, we pulled out of bringing him back from Leicester last summer, unless he isn't in McDermotts plans and we are selling Hunt.

Even as a Town fan I have one thing to say. 'Dream on pal'.

Jones? Are you mad? He is way too good for us

Cannot see many Town fans wanting Peltier back, many of my mates support Leeds and they don't rate him.

Peltier thought the grass was greener etc when he left town then insulted us by going to lxxxs. we def don't want him back at town.

Peltier actually went to Leicester from us, not Leeds!

I meant to put "eventually" went to lxxxs!

Mark Hughes will look to bring former signings Hoilett and SWP to Stoke to add some much needed pace to the Potteries side with the possibility of Crouch going the other way to relegated QPR.

Im puttingat least £1000 on stoke to be religated next season!

He will destroy Stoke

You posted this 1 hour after he was appointed and I no fOr a fact he was with the media till 3 then left with coats so how you no this is beyond me and coats quoted on tv players comming and going are down to Hughes so how could you possible know who he wants when even he don't no who he needs yets

Give him a chance at least if we do go down it will be the fans fault.

Do you ever plan what you're going to buy before you get paid? Managers also plan who they will buy before they get the job. Agents and solicitors all get word of this and rumours get out.

He may have posted it an hour after but he was right Hughes wants a straight swap Crouch for Hoilett i'd say do it.

Dont really like hughs but, suppose the best option is to give a chance, he could change the play of stoke which SOME people want.

30 May 2013 11:50:51
Young Reading left back Nick Arnold has signed a new contract and will spend next season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.

30 May 2013 11:45:14
Reading have made a £250,000 bid for Fulham u18's Stephen Arthurworrey.

The player is contracted to the summer of 2014 with Fulham who are keen to keep him but Reading may be able to offer him a quicker route to first team football with both Pearce and Gorkss set to leave. Arthurworrey would be behind Mariappa and Morrison in the pecking order pushing for fourth choice with Michael Hector. Reading are looking for an experienced player to provide cover for Mariappa.

You can have him on loan, but he is too promising a youth player to give up for £250,000

30 May 2013 11:33:24
Mark Hughes has lined a summer swoop for David Bentley and Stephen Ireland. Both available to leave there clubs for free. Hughes has also earmarked a potential swap deal with QPR involving Junior Hoilett for Peter Crouch.

Doomed to fail in that case. David Bentley I don't think so and as for stephen ireland hmmm

30 May 2013 11:28:23
Stoke City manager Mark Hughes wants to bring Shay Given, Darren Bent, Stephen Ireland and brazilian striker Jo to the Britannia. Also, Begovic to be sold. Other players leaving will include Kenwyne Jones, Thomas Sorenson, Matthew Upson, Jermaine Pennant and Matthew Etherington.

30 May 2013 11:25:06
Doncaster Rovers interested in Hull City's Matty Fryatt but with Hull unlikely wanting to loan him out Doncaster could be priced out by Ipswich. Wolves have also expressed their interest.

30 May 2013 11:23:07
Marlon Pack has rejected a contract at Cheltenham Town, he is set to hold talks with Bradford City. He is said to be keen to join the League 1 club.

Have heard that he is in talks with Micky adams at Port Vale

No chance is he joining Bradford.

He won't be joining Bradford City. More likely to sign for Bournemouth, Bristol City or Peterborough.

30 May 2013 14:19:14
On his way to Gills

I sincerely hope so

Pack will join a championship side

30 May 2013 16:52:18
Sheff Wed and Charlton have made offers according to tv. No chance for clubs such as Gillingham and Bradford.

Marlon pack has had offers from Sheffield Wednesday and charlton so no chance of going to Bradford.

Marlon won't go to Gills whilst a particular manager is there, he's got more sense than that.

It has been confirmed by an agent that Bradford City are in talks with Marlon Pack. He will be a Bradford City player next season. FACT. {Ed003's Note - A few Championship clubs are interested in him though,now that's a fact aswell.}

Well if an agent said it, I believe it. Cough.

30 May 2013 22:13:56
he will go to either Charlton Bournemouth or Peterborough

Bradford? Keep dreaming.

Not only have Derby and Bournemouth been talking to him, Bournemouth are said to be close to agreeing a fee with Cheltenham, but now Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday have made it public knowledge that they are also interested too.

But why progress and further your career by going to a Championship team, go to Bradford instead!

Going to a team who will be in the bottom half of League One would really show his ambition. Charlton or Sheffield Wednesday.

Because he knows Bradford will be a championship side in the next 2 seasons- and that from a leeds fan they have the momentum- the only club in Yorkshire that does

Afc bournemouth to sign clayton donaldson of brentford for 500 k , james dunne from stevenage for 300 k daniel gabbidon from crystal palace free and danny hollands charlton 250 k and will re sign lyle taylor from falkirk for 305k

No bids been made for Donaldson all rumours atm

Maybe its me that comes from a different planet but Hollands left because he wanted to be near his family in London and Taylor is not worth £50,000 and is not championship

30 May 2013 16:43:11
believable until you mentioned Lyle Taylor, 300k? I wouldn't even pay 3k for him.

Hollands left because Chartlon were offering more wages which worked for Hollands & the Wife with their Triplets.

Donaldson. A good player but he's 29. I heard that he wants to stay a Brentford. They're a top club with a bright future.

30 May 2013 10:40:12
St mirren man paul mcgowan o the way to ipswich. Out of contract and ipswich thought to be soon closing the deal although crystal palace and birmingham are intersted

Burnley striker Charlie Austin is set to join Cardiff for around 5M later this week

How the windows not open yet {Ed024's Note - Pre-contract agreement is the usual method)

30 May 2013 13:24:38
According to express and star he, s having talks with
aston villa so he has not decided nothing yet!

30 May 2013 14:15:09
Think Villa might have something to say about that.

I think 5million-7million is realistic for Austin (similar to Jay Rodriguez). Just like the Grant and GK situation, Dyche said he has targets set for certain scenarios, so hopefully when Austin does leave we have a good replacement.

The window is open

Possible but very unlikely

30 May 2013 10:25:02
Hi (Eds)
Just seen on the Marca site that a deal between Real and Suarez has already been agreed. I'm not convinced. However I'v been told Marca is a pretty reliable newspaper. Do you think this story is just speculation? Does ED02 have any idea how reliable Marca is with its sports news?

Thanks. john.

30 May 2013 10:24:44
Mark Hughes to make James Chester (Hull) Stephen Ireland (Villa) Garry Hooper (Celtic) & Adel Taarabt (QPR) his first few signings.

James Chester won't leave hull

Adel will not sign for Stoke but Hughes will try and get 1 or 2 from QPR.

Chester won't be going to Stoke. He's negotiating a new deal right now, if one can't be met he'll go to Villa. Be gutted if he left but good luck to the lad.

Only stephen ireland might be going to stoke. all the others will have better offers elsewhere, and I doubt that they will be able to meet the asking price of tarabt and chester

No way Chester will go

David flitcroft is interested in signing Titus bramble for Barnsley. It all depends on whether bramble would be willing to take a significant wage cut.

He`s probably contacted him on his blackberry!

No way he will go to a high championship club we can not afford his wages and he's a good solid championship defender

30 May 2013 09:50:55
Andres Gurrieri is about to become the next out of contract player to re sign for Plymouth. Rumours about Onismor Bhaseras departure are also flawed as the defender is still considering his position, but does not really want to leave Argyle. News on new signings is expected soon, with three players having been made offers.

Oooo guess who has been reading the Herald

CTFC set to sign a striker in the next few days after MY has made an agreement. Reported it's an exciting striker who has done well against us in recent years.

Any suggestions for who it might be? Not sure Rene Howe has done great, but does open up the Cureton debate again. Also seen Ashley Grimes linked a few times, could fit the bill.

Any more suggestions for strikers that have done well against CTFC?

30 May 2013 09:29:15
Roberto Martinez's first signing as Everton manager will be his former player at Wigan James McArthy. McArthy impressed against England last night and he will be used in the midfield in more of a holding role to allow for Steven Pienaar to playing higher up the pitch.

So everton are going to spend 12/15 mil then?

Martinez hasn't got the job yet

Get real, Everton haven't got that sort of money and bigger clubs than Everton are looking at him.

30 May 2013 09:18:42
Cardiff are going to sign Albert adomah from Bristol city with a fee worth 1 million pounds

I think this has legs, Palace remain the obvious fit, but Cardiff wouldn't change his life all that much.

I guess as always it will come down to money.

Aden Flint is agreeing personal terms. I've also heard Yves Mvoto is being looked at. Haven't heard anything else about the rest.

Alan McCormick Swindon (150K)
Iain Hume Preston NE (750K)
Mark Duffy Scunthorpe (450K)

OUTS:
Tommy Spurr Up to 5 Championship Clubs (700K?)
Gary Woods Oldham (Free)
Martin Woods Rotherham (Free)
Paddy Mullen (Released)
Kyle Bennett Norwich (1 million)
Jordan Ball (Released)
David Syers Bradford (80K)
Lee Fowler (Released)

Isn't Spurr out of contract, if so no fee required.

Baxter will cost a million due to his 2yr contract then put add ons and then a sell on clause.

Funny how folk think they know everything about other clubs players.

If we got 450k for Duffy I would celebrate like there was no tomorrow.

Take 750k for hume tomorrow good player but no way will get that

Sharp almost definitely will be sold this time around rather than loaned if he doesn't get into the main squad. Plus so many other clubs interested besides Doncaster with supposedly some tabling bids I can't see him going to the Dons without it being permanent and with us getting at least most of what we paid in the first place back.

14 ins! I don't think a newly promoted team will want to change their entire squad! Teams only bring so many in when they've had a crap season not when they've had success! Can't see Bradford paying 80K for Syers when Donny got him from Bradford for free just a year ago and he wasn't one of Parky's favorites.

Latics want 1mil for Baxter you have no chance. Sick of these silly Baxter rumours.

Bennett can go for that! I'd snap their hand off he's not as good as he thinks he Is he's not championship standard

Just because he has a surname of Bennett, people "guess" that NCFC are interested.

Pringles not leaving Rotherham. Signed a new contract last season and Evans has revealed he has refused huge offers for Pringle and Arnason.

Bit optimistic there. From a Donny fan

Mccormack is out of contract

Ben Pringle just signed a new deal!

A mil for an Oldham player pffft please get real

We would be paying over a millions for those players and we won't do that, the board have said we will be focusing on loans and frees

Pringle isn't going anywhere just signed a new two year deal

Hume is not championship standard was good for barnsley but no way now

Signing 3 Goalkeepers?

30 May 2013 16:25:17
Wow we must have taken those empties back lol, we don't have that sort of money to chuck about, sorry sharp won't happen we shall be getting cast offs as usual lads sad but true RTID

Kyle Bennett? To Norwich? For £1M? My insides are hurting after rolling about laughing so much!

14 new players like someone said? And how many goalkeepers you need?

1 million for bennett? he was on our bench most of the season

30 May 2013 16:52:29
If Norwich want to pay £1m for Bennett, I'll piggy back him there myself!

Doncaster will never be able to get sharp back, too many big championship clubs are in for him. they don't stand a chance! {Ed029's Note - Reading in talks. Leeds and Forest very keen also.

Yes a mil for an Oldham player. His talents far exceed us AND he has 2 years left on his contract.

Bennett I'll take him on my bike for that money

We don't want sharp back

Typical dickov loans and frees, relegation for donny on the cards. lmao

ha ha poor decision for a manager,

I make 4 keepers on the list
Weaver
Harper
Murphy
Fotheringham
Does dickov plan on playing with 2 in goal and 2 on the bench?

4 keepers and this list of players!! Don't make me laugh.
Odds on doncaster WILL get relegated

Steve Harper has just retired, so funny how you're signing him.

Potential signings. Hate people that take 4 keepers literally

Loans and frees? That all we (doncaster) would do, so he's probably the right choice!

"Potential signings. Hate that people take 4 keepers literally"

Why not state at the top of the nonsense post POTENTIAL INS rather then INS, making it sound like your signing all these players?

Dickov gets good players in on frees and loans but he sticks with them through bad patches and is unbelievable naive when it comes to tactics. his team talk is probably something like this. 'go out there and pass to one another and try to shoot in the netty thing, when you get in the 6 yard box. if you shoot from outside their then, I will sub you straight away'.

Kyle Bennett is won of the worst players I have seen play for donny, give him back to bury

Another Dickov fave which is WE ARE IN A MINI LEAGUE NOW. lol

PLAYERS DID EVER SO WELL.

Donny fans when you hear these he's actually saying I haven't got a clue what to do and we are in a relegation battle. lol

I didn't write the post just stating fact. So would appreciate if you didn't tag your uneducated and in incorrect comment to the end of mine. Thanks

4 keepers, Syers back to the club he left and selling Bennett for 1 million? No chance.

POTENTIAL INS

POTENTIAL OUTS

Where did Donny suddenly get millions to spend? And the same Tommy Spurr who can not cut it at the Championship level?

Doncaster Rovers are linked with former Rovers midfielder Richie Wellens, who plays for Leicester City currently. New manager Paul Dickov has expressed his interest in bringing the 33 year old back to Doncaster!

This is true

Richie Wellens Doncaster legend. bring him back to donny

Cotterill, wellens, furman, copps yes please bring it on

30 May 2013 08:53:35
Bradford city to sign Robbie Simpson, Barry ferguson and paddy kisnorbo

Barry Ferguson is about to sign a new deal at Blackpool.

Simmo likes a high wage so can;t see Parkinson wasting money for wages on a player who isn;t consistent.

Only played on the Cup for latics but likes a high wage hence we said bye bye.

With the transfer embargo now lifted on Bury FC Kevin Blackwell can start to assemble a squad to take on League 2, he's currently chasing:

Rene Howe, Torquay
Richard Cresswell, Southend
Ricky Holmes, Barnet
Zola/Paterson, Burton Albion
Ravenhill/Hines, Bradford

More to follow

No no no

Yes yes yes! Only 8 pro players at the club and KB needs to bring in players who will deliver in L2, this list is as good as its going to get!

You mean Ryan Cresswell? Richard Cresswell is at Sheffield United.

30 May 2013 14:15:39
Do you Richard cresswell for sheff united or Ryan cresswell of Southend united?

30 May 2013 15:03:28
i'd say yes to zola from burton and maybe RYAN cresswell of southend (once played for bury, okayish centre back) the rest no thanks. I don't think any of these players will be on KB's list

Wouldn't mind Zola, Hines and ravenhill

Apologies, it's Ryan Cresswell ex-Rotherham and ex-Bury!

Ryan Cresswell at Southend (ex Bury) {Ed003's Note - Fleetwood and Chesterfield are favourites to sign him at the moment}

You mean Ryan cresswell? And absolutely no chance two league 2 clubs interested in him and Bury aren't one of them. We rejected a 50k bid for him and are looking for 100k which I don't think you can afford given your situation

What the situation that we've just been taken over and are looking to build a very strong League 2 Team?

Very interesting. All would be good additions to Bury squad. Cannot see both Zola and Howe joining, one or the other maybe with Paterson playing off could be a good call. Southend have had an offer from Fleetwood for Cresswell but Bury could step in, would be a good move for him coming back to us. Ravenhill is no more than okay and Hines is hot and cold.

We've been took over

You won't get one of them players

Why won't we? They are not contracted so we have as good a chance as anyone.

I am Ryan's Dads business associate and have him on my FB.
Ryan was tagged in at the B2net last week.
Ryan needs to settle close to Mexborough for personal reasons.

What makes people think Zola would go to Bury, instead of staying at Burton.

There's no way they'll sign Hines after he's had interest from Championship and Premiership clubs-he turned down an offer from Swansea in January I believe!

He turned down an offer from Swansea - LOL, league 2 player, no more.

Swindon are still trying to find clubs interested in Tommy Miller, Alan Navaro, James Collins, Gary Roberts, Luke Rooney and Lee Cox.

Swindon have employed an agent as a consultant to find clubs for these players.

What's his name Phil Spencer

Tommy Miller has already been released.

No Kirsty Alsop

30 May 2013 08:11:05
Mark Hughes first signing as stoke city manager will be Roque Santa Cruz. Santa cruz played under hughes at both blackburn & man city

How are they supposed to pay his wages?

Stoke are well backed. Chairman and his family own Bet 365.

Hull have targetted Gary Hooper and Palace have eyes on Darren bent. West Ham were looking at them both but all eyes are on Carroll at West Ham which is a BIG mistake putting all their eggs in one basket on a player that suffers lots of injuries. let's look at facts. How many goals does Bent and Hooper get on average in a season and compare that with what Carroll can provide. I say let him go back to Liverpool give me Hooper and Bent any day. Oh and let's not forget the £90k a week Liverpool refuse to pay him

You really don't understand why managers like Andy Carroll do you? They like him not because he scores goal but because he causes huge problems for any cb in the league-not one could handle him this season he's just to dominant in the air and he has a bit of pace about him- he create thing and destroys the opposition (from a villa fan)

Bolton to borrow money to pay for players at 1723% APR

[Check the news] From a disapointed Whites fan

That shirt deal is just Wonga in many ways

Disgraceful decision, shame on BWFC and Phil Gartside.

Get your facts right. The Bolton fan was taking the p. and showing his dissatisfaction with our new sponsor the loan shark company Quick Quid. Like me many Bolton fans can't believe the club has stooped so low. It's called sarcasm nothing to do with Bolton borrowing money from them you moron. From a p. off Bolton fan.

30 May 2013 14:55:42
ha awful truly awful joined newcastle and blackpool in selling your soul to loan sharks

Its amazing what the board will do for a quick quid! ha

From the local newspaper it looks like Quick Quid targeted Bolton Wanderers because a high percentage of their customers who use Pay day Loans are from the Bolton area.

But it could have been worse

Gartside knocked back sponsorship from Jeremy Kyle and KY Jelly for the same reasons.

Free agent Simeon Jackson released by Norwich City will complete his signing for AFC Bournemouth in mid June after family holiday.

Good player, can't see this happening tho.

Also heard this was a done deal, and Thomas also staying with Bournemouth

Jackson could find a premier league team, or top end championship

Still need a big guy up front. Still think Demouge should be given a try out. He's done OK for Roda FC

30 May 2013 15:48:50
Rather Thomas went. Stroppy & bad feelings from our fans. Hope Birmingham decide to make an offer. Stay there Thomas!

Kenny Jackett to be named the new Sheffield United manager in next few days his first signing will be Theo Robinson from Derby.

Derby fan here.

He will definitely score goals for you but is not a very good technical player, one of if not the worst touch in the team.

Howeve he runs forever and will never be lazy.

You could sign him from derby for around 300 thousand. Maybe a bit less actually depending on our striking situation.

Just wasn't good enough for our team and the passing style of football that we play.

I think Theo could do a very decent job for you.

I think Jackett was his boss at Millwall as well.

As there are so many rumours about Russell I will make this rumour of the week.

If this Theo bloke is free, then I could see us signing him however if he costs anything over £50,000 there's not a chance of us signing him

Ahem well done me for giving this rumour off the week with Jackett going to Wolves. doh.

For what its worth I can see Theo rocking up Wolves, I think he played for Jackett at Millwall. Just a hunch, not a rumour per say.

Jackets gone to wolves so forget his.

30 May 2013 00:10:00
Comming from a reliable source Jamie O'hara is heading to middlesbrough

Who'd want an money pinching under achiever like him? He proved at Wolves that Redknapp was totally right to get shot of. limited talent

The story is he's on £40k a week at Wolves. We have to move him out, but the gossip is he is going back to London, probably QPR

Jamie O'hara would be a good signing I hope it's true.

Jamie o'hara will be a top signing. Mogga will bring out the best in him but his wages are far too high.

Notts County have agreed terms with Matt Green after his trial at Birmingham City didn't result in being offered a contract. Also they are now in talks with Simon Ferry to try to persuade him to join the club but may struggle due to opponents from championship clubs. They are trying to free up space to get these players by letting Neal Bishop, Enoch Showunmi and Francois Zoko join other clubs either bought from Notts and if not before the start of the season then on a free.

Not true.
there are other clubs looking at our striker but notts aren't one of them.

What utter pathetic nonsense

Showunmi or Zoko will not be brought this season, they'll either rot in the reserves for a season or be loaned out. Matt Green is not on Notts's agenda as there are bigger fish in the sea of strikers.

01 Jun 2013 11:15:54
County is some ways down Green's list of possible destinations which are said still to be headed by Birmingham, 4 other Championship Clubs and a collection of League 1 Club's including his home town Club Sean O'Driscol's Bristol City who knows Green well. So why would County interest him over Mansfield even if they could exceed the riches Mansfield must be prepared to offer to re-sign him.

29 May 2013 23:08:37
Swansea city sign trio strikers to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from St Etienne, lvaro Negredo from Sevilla and Wigan's Arouna Kone

Swansea sign to midfielder duo player to Sporting Lisbon winger Diego Capel and Jose Canas Real Betis

There's no way we'll sign all 3 strikers

I heard bayer leverkusen were close to signing aubameyang.

Swans will most probably sign 2 strikers. Also Negrado is a step above what Swansea have to spend as was in the press a month ago.

30 May 2013 11:45:14
i think swans fans need to pay more attention to the noises coming out of the club. These players are in a different wage bracket to what can be expected. doesn't mean you won't find another gem somewhere but just expect to sell before any major investment to balance the books

Don't think Swansea will sign three big strikers all a once can see one maybe 2 of them signing.

30 May 2013 12:12:48
Why do we want 3 strikers and I wouldn't pick negrado for the swans u12

This is quiet laughable as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be out of Swanseas price range. He's been linked with the likes of Athletico and Monaco.

I can see us getting kone. Negredo and aubameyang won't sign. I did think we'd get aspas but looks like rogers screwed us again.

Did someone really just post "to balance the books", Swansea are one of the best run clubs in the premier league, made 16 million profit last year alone, along with the sales of Sinclair, Allen and brendans departure. So to say they cannot investment until they sell and "balance the books" is ridiculous. I expect a record breaking transfer summer, with that most likely being De Guzman. But I also expect a quality striker to come in. Along with some interesting loan signings (winger and Lukaka) and a defender depending on Williams situation.

Aspas already gone to Liverpool. I can see this being a disappointing summer.

Swans only wanted to loan aspas in january not buy so can't see it being dissapointing, balague said buying aspas would be a mistake
