Why on earth would Aon agree to pay off Uniteds debt? They're well over £700 million in debt, anything that Aon agreed to pay off would be a drop in the ocean. No, I'm afraid any sponsorship deal will be as with any other sponsorship deal. The debt will be managed (not paid off) by selling one big player a season. This season was Ronaldo of course. Next season? Probably Vidic. But if the Glazers get a bid of £60 million plus for Rooney, they'll accept. Heres the killer though. Last summer Real wanted Ronaldo AND Rooney. The deal was decided that Ronaldo would join last summer and Rooney would join next summer, and Benzema was signed because Real knew they could use him to sweeten the deal. So in the summer, it'll be Benzema plus £30 million for Rooney. This will bring in a big name replacement and the £30 million will be used to pay off the interest on the loans. Vidic may still leave for around £20 million. Ferguson knows that United are a shadow of the team they were with Ronaldo, but knows there's no money to make required changes. With this in mind, he'll change his tactics and start bringing through youngsters. He knows this will only be good enough for Europa qualification, but he doesn't have much choice and he knows he can get away with it because of what he's done in the past. Grim times I'm afraid fellow devils, but don't lose too much hope.

Arsenal to sign a striker in January – possibilities: Marouane Chamakh (Bordeaux), Mario Balotelli (Inter Milan), Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg), Carlton Cole (West Ham Utd) and Stefan Kiessling (Bayer Leverkusen)

Laurent Robert possible return ..I say go for it on paper he's been newcastles best left winger plus he'd do alot more than geremi has done.

Also heard that the toon could make a move for benni mccarthy in january ..sounds good to me!

Arsenal will sign zezinho for £5mil but he won't be able to play till next season, senderos will leave possibly everton or too spain somewhere, wenger won't waste money on chamakh when he can get him free for next season, striker too come in most likely gignac or romelu lukaku. finaly possibility of gattuso/vieira comin for experience and cover for song.

Orange to be the main sponsors for the african nations cup – it won't be the ACON (African Cup of Nations) but the Orange Confed Cup i wonder if this means ivory coast will be favoured as they wear orange??

Momo Sissoko to rejoin Liverpool at the end of the season for £12 million as Javier Mascherano's replacement. Rafa think he's matured alot, and wants to reinforce his Midfield for next season.

Patrick Vieira will join Liverpool in January on a 2 year deal, and he will help Momo become a World Class defensive Midfielder.

Albert Riera or/and Lucas Levia will be used at bait in a summer bid for David Silva.

Voronin, Degen, Mascherano, Lucas, Riera, Babel, Kyrgiakos, Dossena, Nemeth, Itandje, Nemeth to all be sold, Rafa hopes to raise about £80 million for the lot and will start a major rebuilding process. Gillet and Hicks will release all money raised by these transfers.

Craig levein will be the rangers manager in january the new owners of graeme souness graham gillespie and sir tom hunter want him and the 3 of them are going to take over the club on december the 16th and they are going to pay the 31 million debt to the bank and david murray is getting nothing for his shares anyway they are going to give levein a 5 million budget plus what he ever sells from players leaving the list is this

Walsall – president Barrie Blower was overheard saying that the club with sign Estonian full–back Stanislav Groganov to act as cover for Rhys Weston. Groganov is unattached but has been training with the club since mid–November.

Top 6 news:
ARSENAL
Wenger is as unpredictable as ever. He will sign Chamakh in the summer on a free, but that is all I know.
CHELSEA
Chelsea have January to do business, so expect 2 major signings, as well as 2 or 3 smaller ones. Mario Balotelli and David Villa are to join, fees said to be £12m and £50m respectively. They are willing to pay over the odds for Villa as the other interested parties have the summer window to negotiate a deal. The Balotelli deal may see a 2 year loan deal happen though, so they know if he can cope with the English game. The other few players will be for good measure, with a certainty of a CM, with Essien and Mikel off to the ACON. AC Milan will be under bombardment again with bids for Pirlo, the other players will just come in for protection.
LIVERPOOL
Rafa is very pleased with N'Gog's performances this season and with that the Pandev deal will be a free transfer att he end of the season. Expect to see a new CD join after Voronin and Dossena pursue careers at other clubs, giving Rafa around £10m to spend. Shawcross might join for the full £10m. Aguero is high on the cards for the summer, with Rafa changing his outlook, reverting to 4–4–2. Nemeth has done great on loan and will be back–up to Torres / Aguero / Pandev. Pacheco, Kelly and Ayala will be called up to the first team. Mascherano will leave, giving Aquilani and Gerrard the CM roles, Riera will leave in a part exchange for Silva, with £10m going the other way, Benayoun / Kuyt on the right.
MANCHESTER CITY
With multi–millions to spend, Yaya Toure will join in January and will be the only transfer made. In the summer expect an audacious bid for Messi and Torres, as well as Stevn Gerrard and Nemanja Vidic. none will go through and they will be left looking for players who are mercenaries, such as Ashley Cole and William Gallas.
MANCHESTER UNITED
Don't believe those Man Utd fans who believe they are immune from debt. The Ronaldo money went to debt, except £10m of it. Man Utd are in the same boat as Liverpool, except they aren't as honest about it. Vidic will leave, but for the same reasons Mascherano is leaving Liverpool. Ferguson will sign Edin Dzeko in the summer, replacing Berbatov, who is on his way to Italy, maybe Juventus.
TOTTENHAM
With the way Redknapp has got them playing they are becoming the side most likely to break the top 4 monopoly. Big name players are also looking to play for them, with Alessandro Nesta a surprise target for Redknapp in January. He is looking for another CD, with Bassong the only secure defender, with Dawson, Woodgate and King all injury prone. Dawson will be sold and another defender will be brought in, rumoured to be Fabiano Santacroce, while Marek Hamsik and Mario Mandzukic are others on his hitlist.

Arsenal news.
Wenger has come out saying he will buy a striker to replace the goals of van persie who is surely out for the season with his unfortunate injury.
Sagna and Arshavin especially have come out saying Wenger needs to buy players.
Expect Wenger to maybe for the first time buy an established goal scorer, names such as Huntelaar, Van nistelrooy have popped up in the press but expect any kind of striker to come in to the team.
they may be doing this to, ofcourse strengthen the team and provide for the lack of goals. but also to keep hold of star players, arshavin notably who may become distressed at the lack of big names coming in, Wenger will be offloading senderos as part of a deal maybe to bring in a defender, and also youngsters on loan now that we are out of the cup. a striker is being brought in, not just to bring goals, but to keep people happy, and to put pressure on eduardo and vela, quality quality players that now need to prove themselves. Aim for the season is to qualify for champions league and to win a TROPHY. pressure is building on wenger, not from the board but from the team he is building. established players like Arshavin and rosicky, world class players have to remain in the team.
Any one out there saying gallas, silvestre, almunia, rosicky eduardo and bendtner to leave are disillusioned. gallas has formed a formidable partnership with vermaelen (still area's needing to improve but getting there) silvestre is no first team player, but he is a quality fill in, especially with the bags of experience he has, ok not the fastest the fittest, but he can control the back line and he won't panic, ye he makes mistakes but he is a very useful replacement. if he goes it will only be at the end of the season or he will probably end his career here. almunia won't go, there are no keepers out there available that will do a head over shoulders job than him. stand in keepers, fabianski and mannone have quality, but they need time still. rosicky?! please people, rosicky is on par one of the best talents in the world, just a man who has been blighted by injuries and is desperate to prove himself, definately keep, match winner. edaurdo? do you honestly think wenger will kick out a striker he rates so highly, a player who is still finding form after his injury? get with it people.
if players leave it will only be senderos as he wants to leave to secure his world cup spot. and that is it.
again I will reiterate that wenger is buying a striker to not only fill the void of van persie, but to restore confidence in his players. star players like fabregas, van persie arshavin sagna clichy may be losing confidence and wenger need his best to be confident. as for a centre back? wenger will only maybe bring a player to cover the aging gallas, someone to partner vermaelen. remember we still got djourou who is quality.
players out– senderos and youngsters on loan.
possible players in– huntelaar would be favourite for me, i would love to see him play for us.
much love transfer fanatics. people please stop filling these pages with things on par as messi to stoke city. its a waste of space.
excited for the transfer window... and scared...

I tried posting this in the summer, I am one of Dean Ashtons' friends, played together at Crewe Youth level. His career is over, he was trying to pass a medical at Stoke and sign on a 2 year deal in the summer, knowing that he wouldn't be able to train during the week (like Ledley King). Unfortunately he couldn't pass a medical, and is never going to recover from his ankle injury. He is selling one of his properties and one of his cars as he is looking to be financially secure for the rest of his life. Disappointing news for Hammers fans.

BLACKBURN ROVERS NEWS:
bs will try and sign these players over the next to transfer windows Dionatan Nascimento(cb) Fraser Fyvie(lm) darren mccauley(cm) nigel reo coker(cm) Dieumerci Mbokani(forward) emile heskey(forward)

over the next season or 2 phil jones(cb) Flilip Pivkovski(forward) Besnik Rustermaj(am) Nikos Giannakopoulos(gk)will all be introduced into the rovers squad

Celsea will try and sign some young players in the transfer window because we have a ageing squad. Also we need to replace players such as ballack, deco and kalou. So i think chelseaw will sign Balotelli, Neymar, Ribery/silva and maybe a young full back.

Has anyone got any rumours for Fulham. Would like to see us have another look at Janko. Also O'Hara or Michael Johnson. COYW

Aston Villa ar going to send striker Emile Heskey to leicester on loan So he can prove to cappelo what he can do!

Mandaric will give Pearson a 2 year contract extension before January with the promise of backing Pearson with a few million. Pearson won't make big changes but just wants to add a couple of quality players to give Leicester the best chance of promotion.

Targets –
Waghorn – 800k + 400k in clauses, including a promotion clause of 200k.

Benjani – ?? – Mandaric signing, liked him at Pompey.

Dickov – Derby – free
Dyer – Huddersfield – 200k
Luke O'Neill – Orient – loan
A.Chambers – Oxford – free
Steve Howard – Middlesbrough or Hartlepool – small fee.

Its been a while...

Looks like Laurent Robert is on his way back to Newcastle, will sign as soon as possible to provide bulk to the squad. He is also sublime on his day. Don't expect to see Cambell at NUFC, we cannot give him the length of contract he want and it appears Hughton's eyes are on Matthew Kilgallon, 10 years younger then Sol.

Aresnal to sign a striker. Usual names like Chmakh/Huntaleer being mentioned, but expect Arsene to be his usual self a sign a player called Losado (think that's right, he is about 18/19) on the cheap. Very similar to Benzema, with a bit more strength. Also expect M Diarra of Real to join, price near the 10mil mark.

Finally, expect Chelsea to make AT LEAST 2 signings, they are going to be banned again soon enough! Either an Aguero/Ribery type player (hold your breath)plus some young East Europen players, no heard much. And after David Villa's admittance he would play in England I wouldn't be surprised to see a cheeky bid, Chelsea are the only team in England who would attempt to sign.

From the No.1 Cockney Toon

Unconfirmed rumour for liverpool concerning vincenzo iaquinta a possible loan deal until the end of the season.
in the summer should masch leave then liverpool are monitoring the situation of gennaro gattuso

Fed up of all the fantasy rumours coming up on this site. Here's some real rumours:
– If Wayne Rooney doesn't sign a new contract he will be sold to either Barca/Real Madrid. SAF will not let him go to another team in the premier league... David Villa will be the replacement if he leaves.
– David Silva will be signed by United in the summer. The deal has already been agreed and the price is £25m. SAF wanted him for January but Silva made it clear he wants to wait until after the World Cup so that he can fight for his place in the starting eleven for Spain.
– United are not being brought out by Billionaires at all. The Glazers have just signed a new sponsorship contract with Aon. The contract says that for every trophy United win while they are with Aon, Aon will pay so much of their debt off. This is the reason the likes of Villa/Silva are being linked with United. United want so much of their debt paid off so signing 2 great players to add to the first team is a great move. Silva/Maybe Villa (Depending on Rooney) will be the only star players signed by United. The rest will be young talent. Ljajic is not one of them, he won't be coming to United as they have said they will not follow up on the move for him. Angel Di Maria is one being looked at but there are alot of other teams interested in him which include Chelsea/City/Barca/Madrid/Inter/Juventus and even Valencia are looking at him to replace Silva.

If Sheffield Wednesdy lose to Reading this weekend Brian Laws job will be under serious threat.
With moneyshort at Hillsborough first choice Nigel Pearson will prove too costly so George Burley and Peter Taylor will top the list of replacments.

To the rangers fan that posted "celtic have bid £4m for Kevin Thomson".don't think so at that price, TM is a hugh admirer of Thomson but there is no way that the board would sanction £4m for a player that cost £2.2m and has really not progressed in his development (if anything he has gone backwards) – very much like Scott Brown. I have heard that Smith would like to freshen his squad but it may be a case of 1 in 1 out etc. Boyd to Wigan (£1m)is possible, as is McGregor to Birmingham (£2.8m), he would then bring in Kyle (kilmarnock – £450, 000) and Old from St Mirren (£200, 000). Bougherra is trying to get out, but his antics have alerted possible buyers that he may be a liability. Mendes might go in January, but he wants to be playing first team football to ensure his place at World Cup. Beasley will leave for same reason, possible return to MLS with Holden coming the other way. And i'm a celtic fan by the wayTM will have a major shake–up in January and it's expected that the starting 11 in mid january will only include 6 of the current recognised 1st team. A few players will be allowed out on loan to get games and see if a future at parkhead is still possible, these will include; killen, flood, mccourt, caddis or wilson (not both as cover needed for hinkel) – fery hutchison and millar will remain out on loan but O'Dea will be recalled.

Any bristol city news please!!

I am a rangers fan i heard 2day that celtic have bid £4million for kevin thomson of rangers ...any truth in this ??????

Any barnsley fc news? all i know is Danny Shittu for £1m from bolton

Peter storrie is to leave portsmouth on health grounds, but will still have to answer to the authorities over payments etc. accrued by pompey.

however, pompey are set for yet another takeover in the summer – an unknown british buyer, who almost bought the club before milan mandric, based in switzerland wants to buy them and has millions to put into the club.

pompey, hearts, preston, rangers and a few other clubs will all have new owners before the 2010–11 season kicks off – guaranteed!

News for Reading fans:

Have heard that good Sir John will stand down as owner at the end of the season, after two parties have shown interest in acquiring the club.

They have pledged a sum, irrespective of whether they are in the Championship or League 1 next season, and this could be the springboard needed to get the club back into the Premiership.

Also, news for Palace fans – Simon Jordan (Joe Elliott's lookalike) will also be standing down as their owner at the end of the season, as there are new buyers waiting to invest in them.

–––––––––––––––––West Ham–––––––––––––––––––––––––
Some interesting news coming out of West Ham recently, with priorities beginning to change. And I, Mr.Bubble have all the updates.

First thing, The club no longer considers signing a new striker a MUST in January. Although Cole appears to be injured for the next few weeks (Ive heard mid jan–beginning of feb for a return), everyone at the club involved in the transfers agree that the squad is beginning to score goals more frequently. However, discussions with Luca Toni are at an advanced stage. Munich are happy to allow him to leave on loan for the remander of the season and will happily pay a percentage of his wage. Therefore, Toni looks set to join for the remainder of the season with a possible permeanent move in the summer should the money appear.

However, the main objective for Zola, Clarke and Nani is to bring in 2 new defenders for the CB and RB positions.
At CB, Zola is a bit concerned. No player appears to be gelling with Upson as much as James Collins before his move to Aston Villa (a transfer Zola secretly regrets after failing to sign Chamakh). Tomkins is young and needs another season or two to fully develop, Davenport is a VERY long term injury and Da Costa isn't filling hs potential. Hence, I have discovered that West Ham will look to bring in David Wheater of Middlesborough for £3.5 million AND Danny Gabbidon. However, I personally believe Strachan will reject this bid and this means West Ham will need to look else where. Should this happen, then the back–up that will be targeted is either Dawson from Tottenham OR Carsisle from Burnley. An offer of about 4 million would be made for either.
At the RB position, a few names have been thrown around, based on the money that West Ham would be willing to spend. The names reported to me are Paulo Ferreira, Rod Fanni and Santon (Inter Milian). Should the club decide on Ferreira or Fanni, then they will make an offer of up to £5 million. I expect Ferreira to be interested in the move as Bosingwa and Ivanovic have established themselves above him in the RB fight at Chelsea. Should Santon be the target, then I expect that Inter would only allow him to leave on loan for the remainder of the season, hence making him the least attractive possibility.

In terms of leaving Upton Park, a few players will be deemed surplus to requirements. Julien Faubert, Danny Gabbidon and Matt Fry will all be told that the club will be accepting offers for them in January. Nigel Quashie will be encouraged to make his move to MK Dons a permeanent one and, should Luca Toni arrive, Frank Nouble may be loaned out to gain first team experience.

As for the current ownership issues at West Ham, CB Holdings are hoping that David Gold and Sullivan will make an offer sometime in the next couple of weeks. No numbers have been mentioned, but CB Holdings know that selling the club has become a serious priority due to the possibility of a relegation scrap. The generally accepted view is, should West Ham go down, CB Holdings would not be able to support the club, whch may lead to administration and possible closure.

So here's the summary for January 2010.

In's:

Luca Toni (Loan with a view to a permeanent from Bayern Munich)

EITHER David Wheater (from Middlesborough for maximum offer of Danny Gabbidon plus £3.5 million)
OR Carsisle (Burnley) OR Dawson (SPURS) for maximum of £4 million

EITHER Paulo Ferreria (Chelsea) OR Rod Fanni (Stade Rennes) for maximum of £5 million OR
Santon (Loan from Inter Milan)

Out's:
Julien Faubert–want £4.5 million
Danny Gabbidon–want £2.5 million
Matt Fry–want £800, 000
Nigel Quashie–want £600, 000
Possible Franck Nouble–loan

Thanks for reading the truth about West Ham!

Arsenal options: 2 players max coming in in january, wenger is not going to spend loads on 3 or 4 in the middle of the season.
GK– no movement in january. wenger is happy with Almunia and Mannone, tho Fabianski may depart in the summer now that he is 3rd choice. in summer, if almunia chooses to leave, arsene will choose between Neuer and Green. (will not pay more than 10m)
LB – Traore may leave in the summer, but not in jan. may get a loan cover at left back in jan. unlikely. van der Wiel an ption for the summer, but again, unlikely with gibbs and clichy there.
RB – Wenger happy with Sagna and Eboue, plus Gavin Hoyte coming through. Maybe Richards to come in in the summer considering he can play bth RB and CB.
CB – Senderos to leave in Jan, Gallas and Silvestre to follow in summer. Djourou still injured long term. that leaves Vermaelen. Subotic and Sakho are top of the list. 1 in summer, the other in jan. zapata also an option. We need height at the back. Subotic, Vermaelen, Sakho and Djourou as our CB would be ideal.
DCM – Song off to ACN. DCM to come in Janfor sure. only alternative is to play ramsey/eastmond. Yaya will NOT arrive, nor will de Rossi/Matuidi. Inler is an option.
AM – Rosicky off in the summer. we seem to have enough in that department to cope with Fab, Nasri, Diaby, Denilson, Ramsey, Merida, Wilshere. Eden Hazard is bring looked at. otherwise VdVaart is ideal. but wenger will notwant to block wilshere and co. so don't be surprised if there is no movement in this department.
CF: this last month proved that Eduardo is nothing on RVP and that Vela has potential. Astriker is a must for january. preferably one who is not champions league cup tied, but not imperative. Dzeko or Gignac are top of the list. others include chamakh, but he is available for free in summer, wenger will wait til then. by next season, our options will be Walcott, RVP, eduardo, bendtner, arshavin, vela and new striker. dzeko is ideal in my book.
ideal: jan in: Subotic, Dzeko, Inler.
jan out: senderos
summer in: Green, Sakho, Hazard.
summer out: Vela loan, silvestre, almunia, gallas, fabianski, rosicky, gilbert, traore, randall.
squad for next season:
green, mannone, szczesny
sagna eboue subotic vermaelen sakho djourou clichy gibbs e–thomas
song inler eastmond
fabregas nasri hazard denilson diaby ramsey wilshere merida
rvp walcott bendtner dzeko arshavin eduardo simpson

Have heard recntly that Cesar Azpilicueta is set for a move to LFC. It's rumoured to be for around £12 million and is set to have Emiliano Insua fighting for his place in the line–up, even though Azpilicueta is a right–back Rafa believes he can convert him into a left–back. For those of you who don't know, Azpilicueta plays in Spain for CA Osasuna, and missed just two games for his club last season.

Arsenal to sign Mirko Vucinic of Roma for 16 million.Wenger will also wrap up Brazilian Zezinho, Inler or Moussa Sissoko will be looked at to provide steel and Zapata of Udinese will be signed for 12 million to strenghten the defence.Hazard will be signed on pre contract.Arsene has realised that much needed steel is required to maintain their quest for trophies.
