FAO Leeds fans..

I work in Leeds General Hospital, and was told today that Ken Bates had recently suffered a fall which had badly hurt his right knee.

Whilst this may not seem important, doctors are worried that about his long term health and that it may be time for him to retire from the club.

Hopefully Leeds will have enough financial resources to continue without Ken, but they may need to plan for life without the old man soon.

LFC:

Not really a rumour but more common sense.
–Arda Turan on sky sports today admitting hes a liverpool fan(good buy maybe 10–12 mil)
–Simon Kjaer saying about partnering Daniel Agger club and country makes sense really(great prospect)
–Sergio Aguero– would love to see him here, thought he would come in few years because good relationship with Athletico, but remember what he said about drogba being better than torres. so now don't think so.
Who nows who Rafa will buy only time wil tell!

Liverpool looking to shape up and reshufle there starting 11 for next season. as a big reds supporter i can admit that this season has been abismol and needs alot of work. a main target for Rafa is a solid left back, and Taiwo of OM being his first choice. Insua is a good talent that is improving rapidly and will cemente his first team place in the squad in a couple of years time. however Rafa is looking to increase the stregnth of the whole left side, and with Arda Turan appealing to the reds to come and get him, Benintez could look to wrap up a deal for the young trickster early on in the summer, this being said it is no secret that Rafa is after Juan Mata, but he to plays on the left, so he will have to chose between two of these young talented players? or will he get both as the yanks have promiced a "BIG" summer. Another player that will be joining liverpool this summer is standard leige forward Milan Jovanovic, who is joining on a free transfer. Although Rafa has already signed the 28 year old, he is coming from the belgium leauge and joining the best leauge in the world, so i fear that he won't be able to perform in the league and be another Voronin/ Keane. So i think another striker is needed, Villa/ Hunterlaar would be ideal, but maybe unrealistic. i would love to have one of these strikers to partner el nino up front, but i personally don't think this will happen. so we'll have to wait and see if another forward will be signed.. Rafa will also be looking for a few english players as the 7+11 rule, or whatever will be introduced next season. personally, i think that we should be looking to get Joe Cole on a free, his style of play would really suit the reds, but his wage demands may hinder that prospect. Shaun Wright–Phillips would be a good signing as he has become out of favour at eastlands, but may have a big price on his head. liverpool should however make a serious enquirey about James Milner, although villa will want alot of dosh for him, and alot of big names clubs looking at him. Scott Parker is another player Rafa should look towards; i really like Parker as a player and think that he can play at a really high level, and could bring some stability to the Liverpool midfield. Defence is another issue, as this season we have had a terrible defence record, and with young Simon Kjaer looking to join liverpool, this could help their problems, and another solid center back is needed as Skrtel is looking to be heading out of the anfield exits door. Sorry such a long report, btw this is my own rumours that i have heard from numerous sources, so this could all be gobbledy gooke.
thanks.

Rafa Benitez will become Juve Manager this summer DONE DEAL

04 Mar 2010 20:47:02
To the guy who told me to get real about Trappatoni, i am very real!! I don't deal on rumours!! Mowbray is DEFINATELY leaving, no three year plan bla bla bla. Mcgeady will definately be sold. Ramis and St.Ledger are both on there way to Celtic at end of season.

You're right – McGeady is going to Villa with Reo–Coker off to WBA.

04 Mar 2010 20:48:48
Heard from a very reliable source that Ron Martin is going to quit Southend United at the end of the season.

This follows frustration with the proposed new stadium, the tax issue and also a fraud squad investigation into his business.

Mowbray to continue with Celtic as he has the full backing of the Board and are prepared to back him in his 3 year plan with the club. McGeady will be sold in the summer for anywhere around 10m. Boruc may be allowed to leave with a reliable understudy in Zaluska waiting in the wings. A fee anywhere around 6–8m will see him leave. (Arsenal may be interested) Keane, Braafhied will go back to there respective clubs. N'Guemo and Kamara to stay. Other outs include Naylor, McManus, Wilson, Mizuno and Samaras. The Board will give Mowbray around 10m to build his team. He will attemt to buy players with Premiership experience and his top targets are Elmander, Shorey and Koren. They will cost around 13m for the three. Kamara and N'Guemo will come to around 5m. Other players on Mowbray' raydar are Liam Miller, Anthony Stokes, Lee Griffiths and Magaro Gomis. Ivan Ramis is still looking to be added to the squad to add to our week defence but time ran out in January. Possible line up for next season. Zaluska, Hinkel, Hoiveld, Ramis, Shorey, Koren, Brown, N'Guemo, Maloney, Kamara, Elmander. With a lot of good young players on the books the future looks bright for the Bhoys!

Forest signing Rooney sounds outlandish, but it will soon be a reality.

Wayne Rooney's cousin John, recently on trial at Derby, will complete a deal to join their rivals down the A52, Nottingham Forest, by the end of Friday.

He's not expected to be around the squad immediately, but Billy Davies sees raw potential in the boy.

04 Mar 2010 15:19:25

Southend United:

Chairman would not allow the club to go into liquidation. The outstanding £200,000 is not for a debt owed to the HMRC but for 'penalty payments' due after being late in paying the outstanding 2.1 million last year. The courts will not allow a club to go into liquidation having just paid off the HMRC to the tune of over 2 million pounds!!

If as a last resort the court orders Ron to pay, he will pay (he won't be happy, but he will pay). Southend will not only survive the HMRC onslaught against us, but also the relegation battle we are currently fighting!!

Up the Shrimpers!

Lee Strafford has secured investment via C9S in the USA with Victor Kiam, the famous, "I loved the company so much, I bought it" motto.

He'll be there on Saturday against Leicester City.

A much needed shot in the arm for the old girl.

IF HMRC is successful in the case against Southend United regarding a disputed £200k tax settlement in the High Court next Wednesday, 10th March it will press for the immediate liquidation of the League One strugglers. HMRC has already labelled SUFC a "serial defaulter" and will press for closure to reclaim the monies owed (if indeed they are – that will be up to the judge).
This is Southend Uniteds most important fixture in its history, when victory isn't about 3 points, but about its very existence. The Chairman is playing a very dangerous game with the club and indeed his own financial future (as that hinges on the new stadium being built). Not only does he risk the clubs future, but he too will be faced with bankruptcy if the judge rules in the favour of HMRC. The 'word' is the case would appear to be 60:40 in favour of HMRC. Judges are also getting heartily sick of football clubs appearing before them having defaulted on HMRC payments and sooner rather than later will decree liquidation rather than administration.

Arsenal to sign Karim Ait–Fana in the summer for £6.8m up front, rising to £13m if all add–ons come to fruition.
Done deal– seen the draft contracts and the press release dated for May 3.
This kid is something special.

Nottingham Forest will complete the Signing of Tommy Spurr tomorrow morning, After he passes his medical. The deal will be £680,000 loan fee, with a £500,000 future fee agreed.

With Bennet fighting back to fitness the deal for spurr might not become permanent, although billy is keen to create competition for places at the city ground at has already expressed his need to increase the size of the squad. No doubt that if Tommy impresses he will become a part of this young talented Forest team.

To kop realist.. Wrong.. Have u watched tv recently or read anything online? The lfc owners have money n have promised a busy summer.. Read the telegraph today mate it's talking about the money problems easing at Liverpool.. Expect to see mata, talks with cole r on going n torres won't b sold neither will gerrard, and il tell u why.. When the club was bought n again when rafa signed an extention.. The money accounts were made n kept separate, meaning in easy terms so u can understand, if we sell torres for 80m or w.e it would just go back to rafa for spends cz it wud b in that account, it wouldn't/ couldn't effect the debt.. So next time someone blabs on about Liverpool selling top players to pay debt, think again because ur 100% wrong

I have heard today that Everton are considering making a 25m bid for TWO Sporting Lisbon players, i do not know which ones but as long as they can raise 15–20m from player sales, then the bid is imminent.

This may mean Rodwell will be sacrificed by being sold to Arsenal, Chelsea or Man United, could this be why Everton are putting his fee up? this is just a personal view of mine!

Would this interest any Evertonians? Would you trade Rodwell for two of either Yannick, Veloso or Moutinho? I would imagine the two players that Moyes is interested in are two of these three?

ANON

Albert Riera has had a bust up with Steven Gerrard over personal things. Benitez is furious with Riera, which is why he hasnt been in any matchday squads this month. He is definately on is way back to Spain and will most probably be in a swap deal with Valencia for Juan Mata plus 8m.

04 Mar 2010 10:25:13
Liverpool are struggling big–time financially. This summer will see money re–couped and little spent. Benitez tried for j.cole but could not offer the wages desired. belhadj is another possible target for 4mil, this however depends whether or not Pompey are bought or stay in administration. Other players targeted, merida (free), toni (3 mil), eagles (5 mil) and gudjohnsen (free).
Outs: Babel (10), Aurelio, Agger (12), Skrtel (8), Benayoun (9), Plesis (3), and terrible news depending on CL qualificaion and amount of money we are able to re–coup, Torres may HAVE to be sold.

Kop Realist

Plymouth Argyle player Luke Summerfield will leave the club in the summer and supprise everyone by signing for a prem team (TBA)
Argyles system by–passes him as they only play two defensive midfielders, the Johnson brothers, I mean the Fletcher twins ! He is a playmaker and recent cameo roles have turned a few heads, no joke just watch this space. Mariner and Carver both know a good player but alas the 'system' they play only requires kickers and rushers based on the NFL get it forward take a hit and look for a small gap to batter the way through, oh and talking of Fallon !

Deco, Malouda, Belletti, Ferreira OUT definitely

Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Kalou, Anelka OUT Possibly

DECO: The options; RVDV, Mata, Silva, Hamsik, Dzagoev, Pjanic, Teixeira, Moutinho, Meireles, Kaka

Its no secret that Chelsea are chasing Hamsik and that RVDV has been mentioned is the Chelsea/RM jostling of recent times.Question is will Hamsik leave Italy (Inter Offer) and will RVDV give a poor showing here too. Teixeira, Dzagoev and Pjanic are young, but we could certainly use their youth, and with Lampard ageing signing two of them, but only bringing one to the Bridge for now is certainly not out of the question. Moutinho would be great but he has been reluctant to leave Portugal as of yet, and there are questions as to whether Raul Meireles would be much better than Deco, he has awesome tats though. Mata and Silva are certainly in the mix but there will be a lot of competition for their signatures. Kaka is th dark horse, he almost joined Chelsea in 2005, is a good mate of Carlo and is unhappy and unproductive at RM.

Malouda: options; di Maria, Ribery, Krasic, Silva, Mata, Kaka, Urreta, Dzagoev, Pjanic, Teixeira

di Maria and Ribery are the obvious choices, but again there will be war for their signatures. Krasic would be great, but at the moment he seems destined to go elsewhere. Again Silva and Mata are propositions, as is Kaka but Mata emerges as the favourite with his left wing experience. I like Urreta and he would be great alongside Kakuta, di Maria or Ribery, but he's probably a 2012 signing. Dzagoev, Teixeira and Pjanic are all young, they could spend some time on the left before moving to the centre of midfield.

Belleti: the options; S Taylor, M Mancienne, N Subotic

Mancienne is the cheapest option, with Taylor estimated at about 9 million and considerably more for Subotic, this may come down to price.

Ferreira: the options; S Taylor, M Mancienne, N Subotic

M Mancienne will be the other new back.

Joe Cole; Options; Schwiensteiger, Stoch, Silva, Kaka, Dzagoev, Pjanic, Teixeira, Veloso

Ashley Cole: Options: Vargas

Anelka: Options: Villa, Pato, Aguero, Gomis, Balotelli, Pazzini

Kalou: Options: Villa, Pato, Aguero, Gomis, Balotelli, Pazzini

Youth Striker: Lukaku

Stephen Ireland is set to switch Eastlands for Anfield this Summer in an £18million move which could see Yossi Benayoun move in the other direction for around £10million.

Word on the street is Rafa's looking at..
Gareth Bale or Taye Taiwo to fill the void left by Aurelio.
Simon Kjear or Micah Richards to become Carra's successor, Richards would be my preferance due to the fact hes quite versatile.
James Milner, Rafa's a noted admirer add that to the fact hes having a blinding season plus hes British.
Steven Ireland, out of favour with Mancini, could he be the man to succeed Stevie G?
Arda Turan, i hope so!! as Rafa would say "he show qwality".
Mario Balotelli, looks a cert to leave Inter due to Mourinho showing little faith.

04 Mar 2010 08:36:17
There will be quite a few changes at Anfield this summer but the current management structure will remain the same. The players leaving are Degen, Skrtel, Aurelio, Riera, Babel, Benayoun. Rafa wants to add more creative players to the squad as he feels the balance of attacking/defending options is limited in the attacking options. His number one target this summer is Juan Mata who will join in a cash/player exchange involving Riera. Man City are still interested in Yossi Benayoun and Rafa would like to do business only if Steven Ireland is part of the deal which looks likely after falling out of favour with Mancini. James Milner is another player Rafa would like to add to the squad but due to the past friction between Benitez and O'Neill and the amount it would take to persuade Villa to accept is a major block. Rafa is monitoring Gareth Bale again got the left back position, if Assou–Ekotto comes back and Bale is again dropped for him then both parties would push for a transfer. Rafa is concerned about the left flank as a lot of Liverpool goals have been conceded from th left side and Insua is continuously caught out if position. Simon Kjaer has publically declared he wants to move from Palermo and said he would love to join the Premier League and partner Daniel Agger. Now Rafa knows that he would want to join, he will renew his interest and use the money raised from selling Skrtel to Juventus to buy Kjaer. David Villa has recently praised Torres and their partnership for Spain and Rafa would love to finally get his man and the Yanks are willing to pay up to £25million for him. Before anyone bites my head off about this, they paid £22 million for Torres and £20million for Keane so they are not afraid to splash the cash on one player and after selling their American sports assets, they have the cash to do so. Again, this depends on Valencia, and although je has said he is willing to leave Spain for the Premier League, it's still unsure whether he would stand by his word and leave Spain. Milan Jovanovic will join on a free, and Liverpool are still in negotiations with Marouane Chamakh, although he has accepted and offer from Arsenal, he is still talking to other clubs before actually signing a contract with a club.

Heard that Steve Borley is close to quitting Cardiff City, after receiving abusive phone calls from 'fans'.

03 Mar 2010 23:28:36
I posted yesterday that Arsenal were after Felipe Melo and now Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest.
Also I no talks have opened between Arsenal and Lille and Eden Hazard and Stefan Savic will have a ten day trial at the end of the season.Chamakh has agreed terms verbally but nothing has been signed.A fee of around 10million has been accepted by Lyon if they don't qualify for the champions league. Schalke has said they are willing to sell if they don't qualify for champions league but Arsenal could be priced out.
Robinho did have a tour around the emirates but so was a few of the brazilian players so it doesn't mean they are signing.

To the guy who said that Trappatoni will become the new Celtic boss get real. Trappatoni has stated that his job at RoI will be his last, as will Capello's at England. Expect Capello to stay at England until Euro '12 and then in will come Stuart Pearce.
Also the guy who mentioned Rafa after a few more british players your right, but only 1 of which you mentioned. With Gerrard, Carragher Spearing and Darby making up the scouse quartet, the other 4 englishmen are Johnson, Eccleston and Pacheco available as a home grown player. With this in mind Rafa will make a cheecky £6m bid for Ireland, with Mancini keen to get rid. Why he wants him gone is beyond me but hey–ho. He is also looking at Gary Cahill, although this is unlikely, Michael Johnson, again unlikely though and Shawcross, the obvious one. With only 1 Englishman needed and Ireland coming under that quota due to his time at Man City that should be that. As for other transfers, Simon Kjaer has said that he wants to join Liverpool so a £10m bid will probably go through and will see Skrtel join them as part of the deal for a cut price of £6m. Jovanovic is a known deal on a bosman. Degen has started to impress now he has recovered from injury, Kyrgiakos has impressed heavily while Rafa sees the injuries of Gerrard, Torres and Riera key to our failings this season. Rafa will be given the money for 1 marquee signing, with the yanks selling up soon. David Silva is the one Rafa wants.
