You would think rovers would need another centre back aswell because they've only got 3

N'guessen is a great player. Millwall dont need to sell n'guessen wants to play more often then he will prob be able to at millwall so would look to go to a team wih less talented players. Why is this so unbelievable? We've got trialists ready to sign that most league 1 clubs would be envious of. So this would not surprise me at all. Club will be sorted one way or another by Friday so if that's the case the league will have to let us sign Atleast 20 players to be competitive. Simple as that and appys already stated he's got better players lined up to those on trial also so I fully expect us to be fighting hard for top ten next season wether haters on here like that or not.....

Agree that Pompey will do well this season although the league's penalty 10 pts will probably put paid to a promotion push. However, lower part of top 10 is realistic.

Quite right. We struggled too last year, but Sadler, Smith, Beevers and Westlake were all highly sought after - not to mention Ledesma. My concern is we have struggled for the last two years due as we lacked a 15 goals a season striker. Have we sorted that problem - the jury is out.

He was great for us last season, actually played the ball on the floor but i feel if he signed on then he will struggle to make it onto the first 11 if we have chambers, cuvelier, and featherstone as CM's

Walsall are in real real trouble
Evidenced by the. They have 4 senior professionals left. The rest kids etc

Perhaps our share of the £350k fee for Anthony Gerrard going to Huddersfield can be used to help pay for another quality player like Cuvelier.

Rubbish lee Barnard is not coming from southampton

Not sure what 'coming from southampton' means but one thing for sure the saints will need to trim first team to 25 players for the premiership season. My guess is that lee barnard will be reluctantly released due to that reason. Championship clubs or ambitious neighbours like bournemouth would be likely.

Southampton do not need to trim their squad, if you look on the official southampton fc website at the player profiles there are 28 players of which only 20 fit into the 25 man squad, of the other 8 players: 1 is on loan (aaron martin) and 7 are classed as underage ie born on or after 1 january 1991. Therefore expect at least 5 more signings!

I'm a Watford fan and Murray is really not that good, 7 mil would be ludicrous. He genuinely does nothing in games and just scores tap ins, plus has a good set piece delivery. If you watch him in games, he actually can't dribble or do very much useful.

The guy claiming to be a watford fan above blatantly isnt, I went to every game last year and he was pretty much continually watford's best player after Christmas, plus his goal against west ham was far from a tap in

I disagree....Coxy is a top Championship player and his goal record at the Baggies not brilliant because he was played out of position 99% of the time. When we played Cardiff in the cup last season he played his normal position and scored a Hat-trick. This was against a top Championship team....so good luck to him, he'll do well with any club in the Champ and wouldn't surprise me if he finishes the leagues top scorer.

Cox would also do well a Forest, despite the previous problems at the club. Cox is a player that plays to get goals but isn't greedy. To add to this Cox has a cracking finish, just look at some of his goals, like the one at White Hart Lane the season before last... top bag what a finish. He could easily double figures in the championship, and probably 20 goals. Player of the season in the championship.

Simon Cox is an excellent striker.
When i've seen him it is obvious he has an excellent first touch, good control, he's quick, he's a team players with a good work ethic & best of all, if he's played as a striker when he's given the service he can finish.
Never got much of a chance at WBA and if he's played out of position then goal scoring records not that bad?
Along with Jordan Rhodes probably one of the top future prospects. This would be a great signing for Forest.

With Craig Bellamy a done deal, Cardiff are now focusing on a new winger and RB, the main targets at the moment are for wingers, Chris Burke & Nicky Maynard. Malky hoping to secure one of the wingers by the end of this week.

Jayson Leutwiler, Romeo Castelen and Jacobo Sanz Ovejero are still on trial - Castelen will probably be staying if we can't get Adam Hammill, though we could use both as we have few wingers. Carayol is right-footed and plays on the left, Castelen is right-footed and plays on the right and Hammill is left-footed and can play anywhere.

Most people who didn't like Hammill as Boro last year, you need to remember that he wasn't with us very long. He only got to play 10 matches and half of those he was subbed or came on as a sub. He's only 24 and shows great promise for the future. I'd be happy to have him back.

i am told and am certain its true that there will be NO TAKEOVER/INVESTMENT AT LUFC.
Evidently there was a lack of funds forthcoming and the potential buyer did not have the cash to complete the purchase.
I would imagine the story will be made official within the next fortnight but the writing has been on the wall for a while.

I am not a Leeds fan, rather the opposite, but I feel for them. The only certainty was that KB would take out rather than put in, then hopes were raised for a takeover but with worries that the new owners would be of Portsmouth variety. Confidence that KB would do a good deal for the fans seems to be short of total.

Leeds deserve better than this. They have a manager that can get them out of the Championship (Premier League) but should be replaced if they go up.

Caulker could be worth £10 mil but i doubt he would leave spurs, now king has gone he is third choice after dawson and kaboul.

Southampton have pulled out of the race for Butland cause it's utter idiocy to spend so much money on a keeper who is not worth half of it. He's worth 2-3 million tops. Especially seeing as his form at the Olympics is showing his very 'best'. Caulker would be much cheeper if we're going for him I doubt we'd spend more than 8 million. Finally Olsson is not worth 5.5 million if Southampton sign him it will be for a lot less I imagine a maximum of 3 million and even then I reckon they can do better.

Cardiff City are in pole position to re-sign Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy.

Cardiff have been chasing Bellamy's signature with Malky Mackay previously confirming his interest in bringing the forward back to the club.

It is understood Liverpool are reluctantly willing to let the Wales international leave Anfield for personal reasons.

Bellamy played for home-town club Cardiff on a season-long loan in 2010-11 after finding himself out of favour at Manchester City.

The 33-year-old joined Liverpool from City on a free transfer last summer and impressed during his second stint at Anfield.

Bellamy, who impressed for Team GB at the Olympics, has also attracted interest from Queens Park Rangers with Mark Hughes keen to be reunited with his compatriot.

Rosenberg is very friendly with Olssen so this could be a bit of a softner to keep the central defender firmly at the hawthorns.I live in Sweden, unfortunately most Swedes dont rate Rosenberg very much, a bit of a headless chicken so should be an ideal replacement for Cox arf arf.

Havent heard of the Bahreback rumours.. Another CB would be nice but its not a position the club need to look at. If anything NEC CB Nuytink(excuse spelling) would be targetted if the CB position needs to be looked at. I'd personally like to see Rose in in. We are looking at getting another striker (rosenberg), possibly another winger and a left back. (Rose covers both of these positions). Chances of deals happening:

Rose 7 or 8/10
Rosenberg practicaly a done deal
Nuytink 5/10

Rosenberg on a free and £2 milion for Cox sounds like good business to me.

From a neutral perspective, I'd say Walsall are in a bad way right now.

Billy Paynter has signed elsewhere (thank god!), Iwelumo I can't see happening, nor can I see a CMS/McCormack swap, if anything I see the Heskey one being true.

Rhodes is not even worth the 6m offered by Fulham - he looks like another Healy so pleased if Fulham stay clear of him - not good enough.

Bournemouth are going to make a bid on southamptons lee barnard. Nigel adkins doesnt like him ges 28 and a another striker for next season.

Lee barnard is experienced lower league striker, with southampton in premiership doubt if he would be able to compete at highest level. Would not call him prolific goal scorer but would do a job at bournemouth with all the strike force injuries.

None of them will be signing for leeds they are all average players

Davies wants to move south for family reasons, not just down the road to Leeds.

Stoke are set to sign Micheal Kightly from Wolves and Alan Hutton from Aston Villa for 2m, and still look to sign Martin Olsson from Blackburn for around 4m, also stoke have joined the race to sign 19 year old senagal wonderkid Mousse Konate for around 2m

Hutton is awful but I hope the rest of the deals are completed.

Love to see olsson join but cant see that happening now

There are no clubs interested in TBH, that was confirmed today. He is still claiming his £3m and wont budge, he doesn't believe Pompey will be liquidated. If he does not change his mind Pompey are history its that simple.

What is the person talking about empty seats in the Prem on about. Doesn't he even know we haven't been in the Prem for two years and when we were it was sold out every week up to our 20,000 capacity. As an aside 250,000 people turned out when we won the cup but as I expect your from up the road you wouldn't know anything about winning things would you.

Swansea City are rumoured to be interested in the signature of James Tomkins from West Ham because Chico has not impressed so far.

Correction, the Tomkins rumour was sparked after Liverpool expressed interest in Ashley Williams. I watched every single match of the U.S tour and believe you me Chico made very good impressions. And he scored which is always a bonus.

Top of fitness tests before US tour. Fitting in well with other players. Scored in final US match. Looking forward to watching him tomorrow against Blackpool.

Chico has performed very well so far, so that's not the reason if the rumour is true.

Liam Lawrence has told a few pompey officials ( hence why leaked out to the radio ) that if he is not sold by tuesday to get a fee for the club he will re-negotiate with trevor birch on a 1 month rolling contract, there for is portsmouth need to quickly get rid of him with the money troubles it shouldnt be a problem, ben haim will have his position at the club resolved tuesday aswell, if he is not gone by then west ham will make a move for a free transfer.

all this news was brought to me by mark moodie (close friend) works for the news and had a pop in and out in the studio for express FM

I would Love Liam to stay at Pompey. League 1 could be really good for him. His performance in pre-season has been inspiring. I just hope we can get this whole situation sorted so that we can get on with competing in League 1. Play Up Pompey! and thanks for the kind messages from other supporters. Much appreciated.

Keith Treacy did not miss the Cheltenham game through injury he was infact travelling to Barnsley for talks over a move. Will sign in the next couple of days!

Stockport County looking to sign successful trialists midfielder Alex Meaney and Utility player Zach Rothwell who can play at fullback, central defence and midfield.

Manager Jim Gannon is also looking to sign a back up goalkeeper and an attacking speedy winger and is hoping to add more trialists this week to his training schedule.

Torquay News.

Martin Ling ran the rule over three trialists as Torquay continued their new season preparations with a 5-0 win over Bideford.

The players are former Swindon defender Jerel Ifil, George Artemi and Carl Baker.
