Ryan babbel to arsenal in january
Arsenal:
CF: arsenal will not sign chamakh in january, we can get him for free in summer if needs be. Wenger has admitted Dzeko is too expensive so count him out in january too. Possibilities for a CF include Huntelaar, Gignac and an outside chance of Balotelli. Rumours have also been circulating regarding Carlton Cole, a great physical presence, great ball control and good in the air, but injury prone is a big question mark next to his name. Big names such as Aguero, Villa andBenzema will definitely not be on Arsenal's radar. most likely to arrive is Huntelaar, followed by Chamakh in the summer.
CB: with Senderos almost certain to go to AMadrid, with Silvestre being crap and with Djourou being injured, a CB is essential in January. names appearing frequently are Sakho, Richards, Upson and Subotic. Count Upson out, west ham cannot do without him. Subotic, currently with a non–CL club, is a perfect choice in my view, but again, will Arsene spend 15m on him? Sakho is a beast, great in the air, on the ground, strong as an ox, etc. but he wouldbe cup tied. Richards, an Arsenal fan, is a good choice considering he can play RB too. however, as an englishman, hisprice is surely going to surge. Christian Zapata is another natural favourite: not in the CL, ready for a new challenge, tall, powerful, etc. expect a move for one CB in Jan and one or two in the summer, depending on whether gallas stays or leaves.
DCM: Song is off to ACN. within the current squad, Ramsey and Diaby are capable of filing in, however neither are ideal. best solution would be a short term loan, but January is a bad time for finding quality loan signings. expect a summer move for Gokhan Inler, Witsel or Toulalan.
AM: Hazard will almost certainly arrive. Rosicky's contract situation is yet to be resolved. if he leaves, don't expect a new replacement. instead, expect Ramsey, Wilshere and Merida (if he stays) to play more.
GK: currently happy with Almunia, Mannone and Fabianski. Doubts as to Fabianski's future are rife as Mannone has emerged as a better GK. in summer, if needs be, Manuel Neuer will be signed.
Ideal: January we sign Subotic/Zapata, Balotelli/Huntelaar. Senderos leaves.
Summer we sign Chamakh, Sakho/Richards, Hazard, Inler. Rosicky, Gallas, Fabianski, Silvestre leave, szczesny promoted to no.3.
arsenal need height and power to supplement the craft and skill currently in the side.

Man United will be spending money on defenders in January. After yesterdays game against West Ham we seen Neville & Brown both come off and the back 4 ended up with Fletcher as RB, Carrick & Evra as CB and Giggs as LB. This is all because of injuries and Fergie is thinking of replacing some of them in January.
People keep linking Vidic away from United but the fact is that Vidic is happy and has no intention of leaving. The interview with him where you can see this statement being made by the man himself is on manutd.com
United are thinking of finding a replacement for Rio just in case he decides to call it day and retire early through injury. Ryan Shawcross is one being mentioned and also United will try to lure Pique away from Barcalona as this player is seen as a great Rio replacement.
SAF is also looking at finding a top quality Right Back. Gary Neville came off injured yesterday and Rafael is not quite starting XI standard yet. Ramos/Alves are being mentioned. Whether United can do anything to bring them to Old Trafford is another thing though.
Of course United don't want to spend too big on defenders as our players won't be injured forever and spending big would be a waste.
