West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham will leave Upton Park before the January transfer window closes, and is likely to move down to a Championship side. The arrival of Fulham striker Luis Boa Morte has pushed Sheringham further down the pecking order, and he now has Boa Morte, Tevez, Harewood, Zamora and Carlton Cole to compete with. Sheringham would be looking to sign an 18 month contract with his next team, meaning he would retire at the age of 41. QPR could be interested, and I also hear that Plymouth, Sunderland, Wolves, Burnley and Derby are monitoring his situation.
Leicester are set to sign stephen pearson for 600k and a mystery forward from portugal for 3 million.
Jan Vennegoor of Hessilink is being forced out of Celtic because of constant injuries to his ankles. Whilst Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson will be coming to Celtic for John Kennedy and David Marshall + money.
Bristol City player Steve Brooker is a target for former club Port Vale as a replacment for Leon Constantine who is moving to Sheffield Utd for £1m. Brooker scored and had an assist in Bristol's recent win over The Vale.
Rangers were due to complete the signing of Plymouth Argyle midfielder Akos Buzsaky for £1.3m but the deal has collapsed after Paul Le Guen left the club. Bolton are now keen to reopen negotiations for the Hungarian international but are not keen on paying more than £1m up front. If a deal can be agreed Buszaky will leave and Ian Holloway will be given all the cash to invest. Expect moves for Chris Porter (Oldham), Luke Varney (Crewe), Matt Jarvis (Gillingham), Jermain Easter (Wycombe), Ugo Ehiogu (Boro) and Mark Bircham (QPR). Nick Chadwick will be used as a make-weight in one of those deals (probably Easter). Tony Capaldi will sign a 2-year extension to his contract this week. Rueben Reid, Cherno Samba and Scott Laird will go out on loan. Teenage senstation Dan Gosling will sign his first professional contract later this month when he turns 17. He's expected to put his signature to a 4-year deal.
Paul le guen will take charge of his boyhood heroes PSG within the next 10 days, he wanted away out of ibrox because he knew he couldn't adapt to the scottish football and that's why he stripped barry ferguson of the armband and dropped him 4 the game against motherwell. Smith and McCoist will be in at ibrox by monday along with gough and roberts taking up a coaching roles. they will sign webster(loan and then permanent in the summer)brown ant thomson 4.5million plus rae goin the other way! gow will come to his beloved rangers 4 100k, the captaincy will be given 2 dado prso for the remainder of the season, he will give le guens flops til the end of the season to prove that they r worth wearing the light blue jersey! clement will leave to join leguen at psg in the summer as he wants a crack at the uefa cup!
I have just read that Celtic have matched Charlton and Sunderslands bids for Anthony Stokes, this is fantastic news as the boy is a Celtic fan and has fantastic talent and even better potential. Celtic are crying out for a fast finisher who has a good touch and decent skill. Tony will bring all this and qaulifies for the champions league too.
Its unlikely that we will sign both Brown and Thomson from hibs, so if I had to pick, Thomson will do a better long term job in the middle for Celtic as Brown is more of a wide player and we have a few of them already. If possible I would bring in Whittiker with Thomson (although bit unfair on hibs) and maybe on Central Defender on Loan (For Champions League cover) and we are sorted.

TRANSFERS OUT
Clement unsettled by Le Guens departure although Rangers not willing to let him go on the cheap. See a bid in the region of £1.5m-£2m from PSG (Le Guens new club) either this month or in the summer. Ferguson to remain at Rangers, not to be reinstated as Captain until the summer at the earliest. Rodriguez and Hemdani unwanted, expect to see Hemdani off before the end of January for around £500k. Youngsters Ponroy and Stanger are likely to be off very soon also, although Ponroy is more likely to stay longer. Prso and Klos' contracts expire in the summer and they will be replaced in the summer. Sebo running a fine line and will be given until the summer to show any form at all or he will be punted. Expect Gavin Rae to be moved on to Aberdeen or Kilmarnock by the end of January.
TRANSFERS IN
Webster to sign today (Friday) on a 4 month contract with a view to a permanent contract from the summer onwards (he cannot sign a permanent contract until the summer). Scott Brown and possibly Kevin Thomson to sign in the next few days. Rangers are also interested in Gow and Stokes for cover up front. But expect the bigger money striker signing to happen in the summer as Prso's replacement comes in. Don't be surprised to see a player or two appearing from Sheffied, if McCall returns to Ibrox.
Arsenal news: djourou pardon the spelling and senderos are staying at Arsenal, woodgate will not be coming. The Rangers Revolution (part 2)
Rangers will try and re-establish a scotish infulence on the team onver the next 18 months. Walter Smith and Ally McCoist are widely touted as the dream management team and they will work quickly to bring on, sign the best scottish and british talent available.
Already signed up, Andy Webster, Walter will not go to hibs to try and signed Thomson or Brown, he knows it will ber very difficult to get both and see's browns dynatism as the key factor.
Walter will also look to bring in Keegan Parker from Blackpool, he has been very prolific and Walter and Ally have both checked him out for a possible Scotland Call up and he will be a good addition to the team/ squad. Alan Gow from Falkirk is also destined for Ibrox either now or on a bosman.
Walter would love to bring in either Quasie or Hartley but may instead move for Mark Kerr from Dundee United. Rankine from Inverness and Bryson from Clyde could also be targets as well as a good young Scottish Goalkeeper to challenge McGregor and Robinson will also be sought.
Long term signings McArthur from Hamilton, Dixon and McDonald from Dundee, Snodgrass from Livingston and Constadine from Aberdeen.

It is likely that Crouch will move on in the summer. Luis Garcia could also move back to Spain with one of either Kewell or Gonzales also leaving. Pennant will stay either as cover if a new RW is bought or rotating with Gerrard. Sissoko could move on but only for the right money, he has been attracting attention in Italy but a bid of around £15/ 20M would be required and also only if Mascherano impresses and Rafa decides to keep him. Alonso will stay. Reina will also stay although Carson will provide serious competition for the no1 spot as his recent Charlton performances have shown. Finnan will probably leave with Neill acting as cover to the new RB.

Antony Stokes will not be going to Celtic!Arsene Wenger has already stated that he would prefer to use him as leverage in potential deals for targeted players such as Gareth Bale, Ashley Young, Jonathon Woodgate and Micah Richards. Stokes will be used to land one of these.
LETS CLEAR ONE THING UP. BARRY FERGUSON IS GOING NOWHERE - PLEASE STOP INCLUDING HIM IN YOUR WISH LISTS. Le Guen is out, so the need for Ferguson's cut-price sale is no more. I work in the Scottish media(mostly STV&Setanta Sports), not as a journalist but alongside them. Looks like a Smith and McCoist double-act and any signings made during this transfer will be players known to Smith who can cut it in Scotland(far from the worst league in Europe by the way). No gambles like Sebo in the meantime. Webster is perfectly free to join a Scottish club on loan, contrary to what was written here yesterday, while Thomson and Brown(whom both would prefer a move to Ibrox) are only likely to join if Rangers can agree a price with Hibs, which I personally think is unlikely to happen during this window given past experience - plus the fact that midfield is the only position Rangers have strenght in depth already with Clement, Ferguson, Hemdani, Adam, Rae, Sionko, Burke, Buffel, etc. My hunch is that new management will hunt solid defenders imediately rather than blow budget on additional and expensive midfielders, though Brown and Thomson will no doubt be kept in mind for after the inevitable post-le Guen clear-out.
Newcastle are preparing a bid for Darren Bent after Pardew has stated he is willing to listen to offers for the player. Newspaper reports have suggested that a 7 million pound bid has been rejected, but Bent will be leaving for around 11 million to either Newcastle or Tottenham
The new Rangers manager will not be Walter Smith as many have anticipated but the man who flew into Glasgow Airport this afternoon on an Air Canada flight.

LFC are definately interested in mascherano and neil, I know this because it was in the Liverpool echo who have a very good relationship with lfc and NEVER print false targets. A deal has been agreed with West Ham for mascheranos transfer, however, it now depends on whether or not fifa will sanction the move. fifa rules state you cannot play for more than 3 clubs a season, however, corinthians season was over before his West Ham transfer. so he has only played official matches for 1 club, fifa say that you can only play official matches for 2 clubs, hopefully Liverpool will be his 2nd! hope that's clear enough!
rumour is that crouch is off to newcastle untd £10m - £12m, and Liverpool will get darren bent.
Celtic have made late bids for thompson and brown of hibs and also Arsenals stokes. In battle with charlton and sunderland for stokes who both have had bids accepted for the youngster and fighting it out with rangers for the hibs duo.

Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew has openly admitted that Darren Bent can leave The Valley this month. Bent is out for up to five weeks through injury and Pardew is willing to sell his star man now to get the full price on Bent, who could be available at a cut price in the summer if Charlton are relegated. Newcastle, Tottenham and Aston Villa are all interested, but I hear the front runners are Arsenal. Arsene Wenger is ready to offer £7.5m plus impressive youngster Anthony Stokes, and that could be a deal which tempts Alan Pardew into doing business.
Man Utd will not be making any big signings in January other than that of owen hargreaves 12-17mil and Gareth Bale 4-8mil. They do most of their big shopping in the summer which is when they will buy ricardo quaresma 8-12mil, Micah Richards 9-14mil, possibly darren bent although Torres looks more likely. Arsenal are not looking to sign many players as Arsenal are now starting to reap the benefits of Wenger Youth policy with alot of talented youth players coming through the ranks. They are looking to add the following players either in this January transfer window or more likely in the Summer.

The takeover of Liverpool fc was completed 4th Jan. however the deal will not be revealed to the press for about a week, this is because Liverpool would like to complete signings before this, and told the press on monday that it would take about 10 days to go through, this was not the case.
this is all fine, however there was some interesting facts regarding the takeover. Parry will remain as the cheif exec, and moores will remain on the board. but the investment came from 2 parties, DIC (mohammed) and more suprisingly the Duke of Westminster. this now makes Liverpool the richest club in the world. a wealth of over 70 billion between the two men.
the stadium has now been passed, and the construction will begin on saturday.
the new owners will not immediately be splashin out the cash on players, their concern is the stadium. however Liverpool fc have been saving up for a while for the new stadium, about 400million is spare now because its is not being used. this is the money that will be made availible for transfers and wages for coming windows.

Apparently United were in talks with atletico yesterday over the possibility of buying Fernando Torres.sources close to United were putting together a deal in excess of 40 million euros to get the young spanish star. the deal appearntly hinges on images rights. also atletico want buy back clause in his contract if he is a flop at old trafford, it is also understood that Torres himself is in favour of this descision. expect an announcemnt in January but the player won't move until the summer you read it here first
Mascherano has agreed to sign for Liverpool. If Anfield's legal reps can sort out a way to overcome the Fifa law about players moving more than once within a year, the deal is done.
Chris lucketti is on his way to burnley. will sign no later than 12/1/07.

With Graham Coughlan likely to depart, Laws will swoop on his old club Scunthorpe for defender Richard Hinds, who can play centre defence, right back or even in midfield.
