Sheffield United have released two players. Experienced goalkeeper Richard Wright is set to sign for Mansfield Town on a one year contract and is also promised his coaching badges. Ex Manchester City full back, Stephen Jordan, is in talks with West Brom and Leicester City, with a view to go on a trial with both clubs.

Their midfield is without a doubt the best midfield in the premier league. . why would they want to sign more midfielders?
They need a new goal keeper and a top quality striker in my opinion.
Paul Scholes set to sign a 1 year contract extension at United. United will bid £25m for Yoann Gourcuff who recently moved from Bordeaux to Lyon. If United can't get Gourcuff for that price then they will go for Lassana Diarra of Real Madrid and you will see a cheeky attempt to steal Ashley Young from under the scousers nose.

Southend United in breach of contract with striker Matt Paterson, currently on loan at Stockport County, for non-payment of wages. Paterson is taking legal action in order to be released from his contract, and will shortly sign a pre-contract agreement with Brighton.
Several other players at the club are also commencing legal action over regular late wage payments (breach of contract) and expect to be released from their deals. These include Anthony Grant (interesting Charlton and Colchester), Chris Barker (Torquay), Ryan Hall (Ipswich, Bournemouth, Brentford and Gillingham), Blair Sturrock (Inter Feering) and Barry Corr (Tranmere).

Aston Villa will sack Gerard Houllier and appoint Rudi Garcia from Lille. Garcia is only 47 and knows Randy Lerner very well. He also speak very good English and has had a number of praises from Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho as 'a top coach with ambition and a future'.

Bury will appoint Paul Gerard as their manager and will be assisted by Michel Salgado. Salgado is wanting to retire at the end of the season and with him being settled in the Blackburn area, he doesn't have to travel far to Bury to assist the ex Everton keeper.

Fulham are set to make a double swoop for defender, Laurent Ciman from Standard Liege and Swedish International Ola Toivonen for around £10 million for the pair.

Fulham will let go Zolten Gera and John Paintsil. Gera is set to sign for PSV Eindhoven in Holland for around £900,000 and Paintsil will sign on a free transfer to Standard Liege in Belgium.

Matthew Jarvis of Wolves, is currently in talks with Jez Moxey about a possible move to Aston Villa. Villa will bid for £12 million and Wolves reckoon it is an underpriced bid, but with the chance of relegation, they might have to accept it. Villa are offering Marc Albrighton on loan or Robert Pires as part of the deal.

Injury plagued Owen Hargreaves is set to leave Manchester United and sign for West Ham United on a free transfer. West Ham are also trying to sign Peter Odemwingie from West Brom. Manchester United will try and replace Hargreaves with a bid for Scott Parker for around £20 million.

A shock move for Kilmarnock possibly as ex Borussia Dortmund ace Jan Koller was seen outside Kilmarnock's training camp in Glasgow. The veteran strikers contract runs out at AS Cannes at the end of the season, and is good friends with former boss Mixu Maati Paatelainen.Alongside Koller, ex Killie player Allan Johnston, Jonathon Johansson and Sammy Morrow of Tranmere.

also Michael Owen was spotted at the Grand Hotel in Brighton and Gus Poyet left training early for an meeting there. Tony Bloom was also seen arriving at the Grand Hotel at 11.30 yesterday morning. The talk of the deal will only be agreed if Brighton can secure a place in the Championship. The deal will make Owen the highest payed player in Brighton & HA FC history and will be a 4 year contract

Reading are going to use the money for Shane Long, who possibly could be leaving to Wolves, to sign Benni McCarthy. McCarthy will leave for around £3 million and Brian McDermott has promised the board it won't be a waste of money, as he has plans for him to not touch a ball in pre season as it will just be fitness orientated, with the South African having weight problems.

From a Norwich fans point of view the only reason i would want him at Carrow Road is because it would piss off Ipswich. Yes hes a decent player, but hes past his best (its easy to look good in Ipswich's team at the moment with the crp they have playing for them) and his injury record and wages are far too high. A 1 year rolling contract with clauses for reduced wages if out for long periods would be the only conditions id sign him on. Plus not Lamberts type of player, he goes for young, hungry players looking to prove themselves, not injury ravaged old pros coming to the end of their careers.
Still would be nice to piss of Ipswich 4 times in season (2 derby wins, promotion and stealing their best player!)

Buffon also a distinct possibility if De Gea not yet prepared to move so early in his career. Marchisio is the main target to fill the void in central midfield.

Why are people saying that Newcastle will sign Lukula for 18million when man u, chelsea, mardid, barca and both milan clubs are after him? {Ed002's Note - Anderlecht have put a 30M euro price tag on the player. He is clearly a talent but very raw and possibly not suited to the EPL. A number of clubs will simply not risk the money on that basis.}
