Newcastle really need to bring in a lot of new players in the summer not just the 3 that has been quoted.
GK
Krul is great but we need a better back up than Elliot.
DEF
Coloccini, Taylor and Yanga-Mbiwa are all good but the fullbacks have been poor all season. Debuchy has been shocking so far but Santon is not bad, just inconsistent. And with the way we seem to play the fullbacks get a lot of the ball and are expected to create (which doesn't work).
MID
Cabaye and Ben Arfa are great. Tiote does nothing but give free kicks away and get booked, he can't pass but works hard. Same for Gutierrez, works hard but doesn't do much. Sissoko for me again is not creative, not a goal scoring midfielder and can't tackle. So what does he do? Not much. Have not seen much of Anita so he must not be anything special. Obertan and Gosling must go as are not worth their wages.
ATT
Cisse has proven he can score but can't do it all on his own. Gouffran will get better but never seems to make much impact.
So we need.
Possibly better fullbacks, a defensive midfield who is good in possession, a midfielder that can pass and create, a left winger and 1or2 strikers. Basically half a new team. (Only £100 million or so then).
Veratti from PSG would be great but he looks like going to Madrid. Matuidi and Sakho of PSG would be good also.
Aubameyang looks good but will go to a better team than us. Tom Ince also probs won't come to us and looks like Carroll is going to WestHam. Wilfred Bony could be an option.
Would like to see more British players though but the prices are rediculous.
Anyone have any other good players in mind?
22 May 2013 00:00:51
Matty Dolan, what are your views if he was to stay another season?
22 May 2013 00:14:47
Hello
I heard a rumour in Netherland about Douglas of Twente being linked to your club. Twelve million pounds I think.
21 May 2013 22:47:39
Middlesbrough have been working on getting strong links between them and top clubs. This will benefit both teams with middlesbrough having the option to loan any off their young/senior players before any other clubs. Where as the top clubs will hope their players will develop more under first team football
21 May 2013 20:39:05
This is not a rumour but, Alex Rae would be the ideal candidate for the millwall post, what is needed to get that bunch of slackers consistent is a tough talking Scott! ravendmc
Ex-player too. Hope you guys get him.

charlton are in a strategically great place atm. we will make and have made a 7m loss. for ffp we need to make under 8m loss, so good there
chris powell has made soem bold decisions already as we now are being placed higher and higher in the predicted table. Leicester, ipswich, middlesborough and bolton will have to cut their losses drastically. the three promoted teams will most likely prove no threat for promotion and be in a relegation scrap. leeds will do well, qpr will get play offs, wigan will be up there, reading will probably get the title. charlton will sign the following
conor henderson free
sam baldock 750k
jon obika free
luke brattan free
florent ruoamba free
mark gower free
jake wright 250k
predicted table for 2013 14
reading
wigan
----------
bolton
leicester
charlton
leeds
--------------
to go down
------------
millwall (not being biased, I have millwall friend and he said because jackett left they will go down)
yeovil
barnsley
I doubt Wigan will come 2nd due to competing in the Europa League. For their own benefit, they need to get out of the Europa League asap.
Poor old Barnsley relegated again same as last 6 seasons
Itfc in playoffs itfc Steve
21 May 2013 21:16:22
predicted league counts for nothing who would have thought WOLVES would have got relegated and BLACKBURN would be in a relegation fight so Charlton fan you are talking tosh. UTT

Maloney, McManaman and McAthur, McArthy, McCleary and Le Fondre all want to stay in the Premiership. Should Norwich make a move for any of them? Discuss please.
Tomas'
McLeary and McArthur are barely good enough for the Prem, the rest would be worth a punt, especially Maloney.
McArthur is still young enough to improve, and has done in each season he has played there. For somebody to say he is barely good enough, has clearly not watched enough of him. He has been a quality signing, a they got a great deal from Hamilton.
21 May 2013 15:18:02
Tony Pulis is set to leave stoke by mutual consent (basically Coates wants him gone) this has disappointed me and am more worried that this will be our last year in the premier league because I believe that tony pulis was a good manager and I can't see us getting anyone in good enough to keep us in the premier league.
No harm to see the back of Tony "battering ram" Pulis.
Professor of hoofball!
Steal Harry Redknapp so he can work his "magic" like he did at QPR.
21 May 2013 15:07:40
hope so, who else we in for? I ken about Murray Davidson but who else? I would like to see graham carey, pernis and adam rooney. bradsafc
Davidson has already said that he wants to play in England, so no way will he be signing for Aberdeen or Hearts. He is well good enough for the championship, big tall strong player good box to box midfielder who can get goals. And has decent passing range and teqnical ability, also likes a tackle. Could easily do a great job playing holding midfield if played there.
21 May 2013 14:50:58
Tony Pulis has left Stoke City!
Job at tv for you mate!
21 May 2013 14:50:17
Bradley wright phillips would love to come bk to plymouth
And pigs will fly.
21 May 2013 14:36:08
Kevin Phillips WILL retire regardless of the play off final result
21 May 2013 13:49:18
I think we need 8 new players to stay up next season

21 May 2013 13:18:25
I'm sorry to say that I am sick of stupid rumours already this summer and the ditherings of smaller clubs such as west ham. Manchester United proved last year that if you want to improve in order to be better you have got to pay the money which they did and what a buy Van persie proved to be. West Ham however don;t have that sort of money and are now haggling with Liverpool over a possible £12m move and £90k a week. IS THIS FOR REAL! Is Carroll really going to score them 20 to 25 goals next season? I doubt it. Surely the more prudent move would be to spend wisely and use the money to get players they need in ie Solly, Sane, Hooper, RHodes and possible loan deal for Lukaku. What happened to common sense and a BUDGET
21 May 2013 10:52:06
Realeased today that Southampton will receive payments of a total £43, 809, 191 from the Premier League.
21 May 2013 14:27:15

21 May 2013 12:10:53
dundee utd will not accept anything below 3 million for mackay steven still got 2 years left on deal, already knocked back 800k for russell 1.2 million will get him

Simeon Jackson unlikely to go to Huddersfield as his obvious choice will be who can offer the biggest wage packet
20 May 2013 21:14:18
Eddie Howe has been given a £10 million player budget. AFC Bournemouth's billionaire owner Maximillian Demin has demanded Premiership football.
Well if he wants prem football. then he has to move on.
maximus
Now, now! We must all remember that the Super Galactico Cherries are a global footballing superpower and will bulldoze the Championship next season before winning the Premier League in their debut season, then blitzing the Champion's League at the first attempt to secure the ultimate club trophy.
£10m? I think he means £100m.
We forgive your oversight.
Three words. Financial Fair Play.
One word, relegation
20 May 2013 20:55:00
Norwich have released Jackson tierny adeyami camp and six others. But norwich are likely to keep James Vaughan
20 May 2013 20:42:19
Huddersfield Town boss is struggling to sign players as he also did in the January loan window. Vaughan wants assurances over other incoming players prior to signing.
20 May 2013 21:53:51
where do you get that from Grayson is at PNE now.
20 May 2013 20:08:38
Will Grigg and Fabian Brandy are currently on holiday and are set to sign new 1 yr deals with Walsall, there has been interest by championship sides however both players feel they owe Dean Smith as he had faith in them where other clubs did not last season.
Walsall are no longer inerested in Northampton striker Adebayo Akinfenwa and are looking at young Burton Albion keeper Dean James Lyness
Good decision Walsall. Who wants a striker with the mobility and physique of a blue whale?
20 May 2013 19:44:55
Southampton looking at Charlie Austin from Burnley. 28 goals in 40 games. He's the right sort of player for the Saints
Well if he's arrogant and deluded he's a perfect fit for Saints.
20 May 2013 19:21:20
Craig Eastmond signed a 2 year year deal. FACT
20 May 2013 19:06:10

Maybe another striker like a goalscorer. would love to see davies but is unlikely
James McFadden
Kris Boyd, be good at Derby
20 May 2013 18:42:27
Brentford owner Matthew Benham is already, meeting with Harlee Dean, Clayton Donaldson and Harry Forrester over their futures with the club. He has said he is willing to pay extra to keep them but not ridiculous amounts of money and will consider any offers made. If Harry Forrester leaves, Alan Judge and Jacques Maghoma from Burton Albion are likely replacements.
20 May 2013 18:41:32
Stuart m, call, Paul scholes for wigan managers job :)
Scholes? Are you mad?
20 May 2013 18:26:56
The club have confirmed the release of Simeon Jackon, Lee Camp, Elliot Ward, Marc Tierney, Tom Adeyemi, Korey Smith, George Francomb and of course Chris Martin who we know is now a Derby County player. All of whom were out of contract.
Along with under-21 development players Ramil Sheriff and Scott Olumide Durojaiye.
This now free's up 8 spaces which would indicate new arrivals pretty soon. Certainly a new LB cover and potentially 1 more CB for cover.
You would also expect 1-2 more Strikers to be brought in seeing as we are light in that department anyway so with Martin and Jackson going it leaves us with only Vaughn and Becchio as cover with holt and RVW and tbh Vaughn is probably Huddersfield bound.
And you would have to see he is freeing up space in midfield for more strengthening.
I personally would like to place on record my thanks to the players above because they have all provided a great service to the club in one way or another its a shame to say goodbye especially to cinnamon but we have to be honest those being released is no surprise as they aren't quite at prem level.
20 May 2013 18:09:52
Southampton have long been a club with a vision. Plans have been on going for a while now to expand the stadium and this is going to happen. Premiership survival has meant our future for the next year is secure and investment should hopefully strengthen that future. Cortese will not spend unless the right players are willing to come to the club. Also expect one of our stars to go to pay for a few youngsters. Poch will blaring in older experienced players and a few talented youngsters. Most of this is already in place you just don't know it yet.
20 May 2013 18:04:15
