Martinez to man u, official approach expected 9am Thursday. Moyes likely to return to everton. Large compensation package for Martinez could be the stumbling block though.

Reports in Portugal confirm that Manchester United boss David Moyes was in Portugal to watch Porto v Benfica on Wednesday evening. Chelsea, Liverpool, Fulham, Watford, West Bromwich Albion and Celtic were also represented. man watford with the big clubs :)

22 Apr 2014 21:55:15
I think Udinese attended not Watford, maybe in a few years lol

22 Apr 2014 22:48:49
Watford are also interested in Simone Zaza from Serie A team Sassuolo. He has been watched on a number of occasions by Gianluca Nani and the talented forward may well be a replacement for Troy Deeney

15 Feb 2014 10:39:18
A few rumours flying around already about the summer transfer window and one that keeps coming up is Lucas Ocampos of Monaco, great little player with some pace, plays wide but has struggled to keep his place in the Monaco team week in week out, would be perfect for Southampton but he would have to strengthen up which is what Gaston Ramirez never did and has never really performed. Another rumour flying round is that Maxi Rodriguez is keen on a return to the BPL after admitting that Argentinian football is in a very bad state at the moment, Pochettino is very keen on his fellow countryman and the ex-Liverpool winger. There is also talk of Luke Shaw going to the World Cup instead of Ashley Cole which could just work in our favour. Most players at the World Cup are more concentrated on the tornemant and aren't really keen on talking about transfer speculation, so hopefully Shaw will still be with us next season.

{Ed039's Note - We have a Southampton page, might be better for Southampton rumours/banter to go on there)

04 Feb 2014 15:30:12
The takeover saga continues with Reading not expected to have anything complete until March at the earliest.

Chris Baird is still a couple of weeks off full fitness, despite public messaging that we cannot offer him a contract yet, he will be offered a deal upon fitness until the end of the season.

Reading are looking at trying to get three players on loan between now and the end of the year, a centre back, a striker and an experienced central midfielder.

Reading have approached Liverpool about taking Martin Kelly on loan whilst Sean Morrison continues his return from injury. Michael Hector is close to agreeing a new deal with Reading and will be allowed to go back to Aberdeen until the end of the season. If this is not successful they are likely to look at Chelsea's Sam Hutchinson who recently returned from a loan spell at Vitesse.

Reading are continuing talks with West Brom about taking Graham Dorrans on loan, although Middlesbrough are the favourites to strike a deal.

Reading are also looking at bringing striker/winger Alex Kiwomya from Chelsea into the team on loan to provide a different attacking option until the end of the year.

Kaspars Gorkss and Jobi McAnuff will both be offered a one year extension if Reading do not get promoted.

05 Feb 2014 22:00:07
Any more news about loans Middlesbrough might bring in? Dorrans would be great but we have just git tomlin in his position. Is there any one we might be after?

08 Mar 2014 22:14:29
What is the latest transfer news for West Bromwich Albion

27 Mar 2014 09:59:09
My feeling regarding the takeover is that Reading want too much for the share, or that Madesjki wants to keep part of the infrastructure like the hotel complex, I can't see anything else getting in the way but this is still a long, long way off.

24 Jan 2014 19:57:57
Man United and Liverpool are battling it out for Toni Kroos on loan for the rest of the season.

Moyes is favourite, already spoken to the agent and is ready to start talks with the player

23 Jan 2014 11:29:37
From my sources I have heard will hughes will have a medical at liverpool ahead of a proposed £18m pound move

Would love to get that much for him, good though he is he would be better off developing at Derby away from the glare of being at a premiership club so young in his career. remember Zaha.

24 Jan 2014 15:36:59
if we had bought zaha he wouldn't be having his career crushed like he is at united. such a shame!

23 Jan 2014 07:34:05
OK let's add rumour no 4 to our list [along with all the rest]

4. West Brom are reportedly eyeing former Liverpool winger Albert Riera, now with Turkish club Galatasaray

16 Jan 2014 09:56:20
Aitor Karanka interested in signing Liverpool player Tiago Ilori. The 20 year old defender is available for loan, but Boro may need to fight off competition from Valencia and Granada. Any loan deal Boro agree is also subject to the condition that they can finalise the permanent signing of Daniel Ayala.
It's believed that a deal for Luke James from Hartlepool, Chalobah from Chelsea and Kevin Doyle from Wolves are believed to be almost finalised. A deal for Nathan Ake is being discussed, but not close to completion.
Several players will leave, Richardson, Haroun, Juke, Dolan, Emnes and leautwiler on permanent deals. Ripley, Main, Luke Williams, Sen Hines and Cameron Park to all continue their own development out on loan at league one and two clubs. Offers would be considered for Rhys Williams and Leadbitter, but it would take a considerably high offer to tempt the club into selling the latter. Any deal for Jelle Vossen is subject to cash coming into the club.

I would say Middlesbrough will not bring in more defenders in transfer window, would be nice signing ayala and varga permently thou and extending givens loan to the end of the season

war horse

16 Jan 2014 18:31:56

17 Jan 2014 09:04:24
Absolute garbage mate because boro already have the maximum allowed of 5 loans so getting another would be pointless, there is two more transfers to be done believe me, becchio permanent from Norwich and Jay Emmanuel Thomas both costing around 1 million, Rhys is going to Burnley source is I know him and juke is out on loan to Bournemouth with option to buy end of year and the youngsters going out know loan you will not see anyone being sold apart from Rhys and you will see haroun back in squad soon, source from inside the club

Come on he's not going to play centre back he will parnter leadbitter in the middle. but he can play at centre half thou

war horse

There have there maximum loans given, ayala, varga, omeruo and chaloba that's five i'm I missing anyone?

Deal to take John Guidetti to Stoke has been verbally agreed. Stoke just waiting to tie up the free transfer of Stephen Ireland to free up a domestic loan spot and then the season long loan deal will be completed. Both deals expected to be completed before Sundays game vs Liverpool

Very much doubt it. Still 21 days left of this transfer window. Stoke tend to deal right at the last minute hoping for a cut price deal or the target is hoping for a better deal

09 Jan 2014 12:14:40
The Liverpool and Northern Ireland youth international right-back, Ryan McLaughlin, has today signed a 28 day loan deal with Barnsley Football Club.

Liverpool set to place a £4 million bid for MK Dons' Dele Alli. If the deal goes through, it will include letting MK Dons have him on loan for the rest of the season and potentially next season as well. Rodgers was apparently at the DW Stadium during the 3-3 draw with Wigan. It's likely that Liverpool will have first dibs on him because of the newly founded affiliation between the two sides. Michael Ngoo, the 6'6" giant of a striker, is also rumoured to be coming to Stadium:mk on loan for the rest of the season.

MK Army

08 Jan 2014 14:22:16

Derby will look at many young players from the premier league with Liverpool's ibe and sterling, chelsea bamford and Chelsea's ake is wanted by a few teams including some premier league teams.

Liverpool will not allow Sterling to go out on loan, he is currently in the first team.

Radamel Falcao 50m Chelsea
Diego Costa 32m Chelsea
Wilfried Zaha Newcastle loan
Sergio Ramos 40m Manchester City

Lewandowski is moving to Bayern, Everton said they don't want to sell Barkley and is Falcao even that good?

27 Dec 2013 11:36:49
i think man u will get all of themk players and so will liverpool but i'm not sure about ramos goinbg to city

Realistic (from these rumours)
- Zaha to Newcastle (loan)
- Will Hughes to Liverpool (probably similar arrangement as with Zaha to United last season)
- Perhaps Ribiero or Koke to United but I doubt either will sign.

29 Dec 2013 20:29:59
Will Hughes is not going to Liverpool not this winter transfer window anyway! Rodgers has already said he isn't interested in the player

20 Dec 2013 12:22:34
Craig Mackail-Smith to sign for Sunderland from Brighton in January. Poyet is said to have an 'obsession' with trying to fit a player with Mackail-Smith's attributes into his fluid passing style with Sunderland. Mackail-Smith to sign on a 3 year contract with a fee of £2.2million

Sunderland to also look at another striker, believed to be Iago Aspas on loan from Liverpool as Poyet had given up hope with Graham

21 Dec 2013 08:45:29
Is this the same Craig mcalsmith who has been out injured since march, and no body knows when he will be back to first team action, 2.3 million pound you can take him mate crutches extra 2 million, poyet won't go for smith in a million years to injury prone, why would smith leave to play championship football with Sunderland,

22 Dec 2013 22:23:41
Makes sence, he didn't really suit gus's style of play at brighton so gus wants to take him to sunderland to have anouther go lol next

06 Oct 2013 13:32:38
Duane Holmes being tracked by Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle, they have had him watched in every U21 game this season and all three games for the first team. He is a gem and we need to hang on to him for at least a couple of seasons.

15 Sep 2013 04:09:34
Former Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and England striker Stan Collymore and former Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu are to front a bid to save West Midlands crisis club Malvern Town.

Stan is well known in the area, and is friends with their ex-Chairman and Ugo played his first game for Aston Villa against Malvern in 1991 and has an affinity for the club.

The club are hoping to raise £100,000 to stay in business and are looking to relocate from their current home which is becoming dilapidated and may fail future FA Ground Gradings for Step 6.

26 Nov 2013 20:40:33
heard that villa could be looking zaha? maybe.

02 Sep 2013 18:20:06
Former Liverpool and now PSG midfielder Mohammed Sissoko is in talks with Championship side Reading, according to French source L'Equipe.

If we are such a well run club why have reading not signed anyone yet? If we had targets and money available as a well run club should have then where is the plan b or plan c or even plan d!
I know all the time we hear we won't break the bank but the bank must be booming with the amount of income we have generated compared to our outgoings! If we don't sign anyone I call for Hammond to be sacked

02 Sep 2013 23:04:51
It was only 2 days ago that Adkins said he wants 3 more signings and there is 3 more positions he wants to strengthen, yet nothing has happened? I'm disgusted with the amount of transfer activity that has gone on! We won't get promoted. Le Fondre's wasting a season at the club he could be playing at top flight football instead of messing about at Reading, absolutely disgusted

Agreed, never been a fan of Hammond, I find him clueless and in the past few transfer windows since copell left it has showed. If we have lost signings it would be due to his lack of talent

It looks like Momo Sissoko is set to be confirmed as a reading player very soon. It is belived that the paper work was submitted to the proper footballing authorities before the transfer window closed.

02 Sep 2013 23:31:35
It looks like Momo Sissoko is set to be confirmed as a reading player very soon. It is belived that the paper work was submitted to the proper footballing authorities before the transfer window closed.

Let go of 2 first teamers no one in yet I'm disgusted love Rfc but they do my bloody head in sometimes

We should sack hammond as director of football and bring back the god that is coppell as Director.
hes doing the same thing at crawley so why not come to reading?

Hammond will get a massive pay rise for not spending any money then get a big pay off to leave

Doesnt matter about the deadline, he's unattached.

We need a striker mostly

So have the club announced officially that we did no business?. They haven't? Oh but the way all these fans were whining you'd think they had.

Don't worry lads I've called you a Waaaaahmbulance.

03 Sep 2013 15:00:58
As usual nobody wants to sign for reading this is getting silly same every season

Im sure reading will wait for the loan transfers to open up, then go for the players that aren't announced in the 25 man pl squads

Only reading could now be looking likely to sign another player after the transfer window closes. the people running this club seriously need to sort themselves out

02 Sep 2013 12:04:14
derby county have ACCEPTED A BID from Liverpool of £12million for Will Hughes

Wouldnt cost 12 mil more like between 6 to 8

I can guarantee if a bid were to be accepted, it would be 10mill+.

It's half 8 and nothing happened at all lol. Get your fact right before you post anything. Just saying

Take it Liverpool didn't get around to signing the cheque?

02 Sep 2013 12:01:55
i am part of derby county's events team so obviously I spend a lot of time arounf pride park, amd yesterday there were rumours around the club that liverpool and man city are both considering bids of aroun £13million for Will Hughes.

Could get Leighton Baines for that much

If City and Liverpool were 'considering bids' for Hughes why would that rumour be going around Pride Park? Surely the rumours would be at Anfield and Eastlands. Unless they were very loud rumours that travelled approximately 60 miles.

No one is going to pay £13m for a young player untested at any decent level. Move along.

What other snippets do the events team know about. Who is the midfielder we want to loan in place of Hendrick?

Arsenal payed big money for Walcott and the Ox. So you may be suprised

If you think Hughes is anywhere near as good as Walcott or AOC then you need locking up.

Well, the fact he's the 2nd youngest England U21 international (behind Walcott) suggests he's definitely in the same ballpark. Another good season and I don't think it's unreasonable that we see a similar fee.

Except Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott had both represented the full national side by the time they were the same age as Will Hughes is now.

He's nowhere near their level. Is he anywhere near the England squad at present? No. Will he be anywhere near it in the next year or two? Don't think so.

I know it's exciting when our club produce a talent but let's not get carried away.

Will Hughes plays a position where England currently have an abundance of possibilities (see Gerrard, Lamps, Wilshere, Cleverley, Carrick, Henderson, Rodwell, Barkley etc) Will is as good as a couple on this list, but he does need time to grow in the U21's before making the step up

No they hadn't. Ox's first senior cap came when he was 19 and Theo's in the later stages of 17. As I've already said, Theo's the only one ahead of him in terms of development at a young age.

09 Sep 2013 19:36:40
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his England debut 3 months before his 19th Birthday, think you'll find.

02 Sep 2013 00:07:52
Tom ince to compleate move to aston villa tomoz in a 8 million deal 6 million cash plus 2 mil add ons if does well plus we get albrighton off them on loan for season. I wish thelad well and think he will outgrow villa in a couple years and end up back at liverpool.

If this is true its a very good move in the right direction for the villa.

We take no responsibility for the accuracy or otherwise of published Liverpool rumours
