if liverpool sign podolski is he will obviously play him on the left wing.carroll is long term and team to be built for two tactical systems.1 system for carol and 2nd system for suarez also for 35 mill kk must see something in andy for that price.we are building a strong future team and using statistics and brains behind the scenes.the same strategy started years ago in american baseball with the oakland athletic baseball team.they built a team on bare minimum money using high statistic unfavoured and underated players buying them in cheap from other teams which almost won them a major league baseball final.everyone questioned ther tactics and they took half a season to pik things up and went on a 20 game win streak.the longest ever in history of baseball averaging $240,000 of team per game compared to ny yankees 1.4mill per game.thats were the boston red sox got there idea and brought in the guy that wrote the book wer it all stemd from on statistics on baseball players and getting the best from players which proved to work and brought them ther title back in early millenium.i think we r goin the same way.we dont throw around 40 and 50 mill on overated fancy players ,which im proud of we get value for money and i dont believe in fans putting players like downing, carrol, kuyt, adam etc down.we will get better and better and stronger while all the other top teams blow ther millions down the tubes.we just need time for team to gel.we play superb and culd score loads we just to fond of hitting woodwork wereas utd play crap and scrape a winner.

Newcastle targets
Yanga M'Biwa 6.8 million
Jelavic 6.5 million + lovenkrands
Mevlut erding 7 million
Lars bender 5.5 million
Muntari 4 million
Gignac 8 million
Lucas barrios 12 million
Bassong loan
Lassana diarra loan / 6 million
Defoe 7 million
Kenwyne jones 7 million
Corgnet 8.4 milion

Note: this is a list of rumours and potential targets so i dont expect many of them to come off, the only deal with any substance is the move for mbiwa as Newcastle need a cb and mbiwa fits the policy to buy young players with a high sellon value and he has already admitted he'd love to play in the pl It also been reported im france he's set to undergo medical within the next week

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Buy who they like they will still be relegated by the year 2015

Why do you think these players would come to a mid table side?

I have a feeling that everyone's forgotten Pacheco. Not playing at Liverpool. Seemed to fit in well at Norwich last season? I have a feeling we might see him again.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Paul Lambert liked him alot, and Pacheco scored some good good goals, so Norwich should try and go in for him to replace Wilbraham and the long-term injured Vaughan.

I've been a cherries fan for 22 years. Our new chairman has brought us stability, funds, ambition and good business sense. The whole club has been restructured from the burger seller in the car park now being club owned and bringing revenue in to the corporate contingent sponsorship which has trebled. If Ritchie came he would be a great addition to a team that is going places. When we faced financial difficulties we had to sell. Quite a few of our former players Ings, Bartley, Pittman, Vokes, Robinson, Hollands, Wiggins, Feeney, McQuoid etc... have left us in the last year and gone on to Championship sides - which shows the quality of players we had.

It's now our time to shine and I also hope Swindon do well as they have a great team, amazing Manager and fantastic fans. If you have to sell along the way to achieve then that's the way it is for now!

Believable1 Unbelievable11

We are financially stable , and don't need to sell either. So f*** off and annoy someone else.

apparently Norwich are looking at Sven bender (i think with this name he will get some abuse in England) from Paul Lambert's old club borussia Dortmund, however Paul Lambert doesn't think this will happen, but he is close to signing young borussia Dortmund striker damien le tallec on-loan for the rest of the season.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

One problem with loan is....we already have two loanees. BUT, there is rumours of De Laet leaving back to Man United because of his recent back injuries, allowing us one loan, and PL has some VERY good connections in Borussia Dortmund, yet, PL said it isn't very possible he will sign from foreign teams.

i see charlie austin quite alot in newbury in the hogshead having a beer..he cant wait to have a free wkend and come back down south..all his family live in hungerford so southampton is only 30miles away from there so rumours of him coming to saints is not far off the truth..and also he would be living in the beautifull berkshire downs playing for a big club with big ambitions once again..not living in a poverty stricken dive like burnley.. {Ed003's Note - Obviously you have never visited the Ribble Valley or Pendle}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Dude saints do not want him, burnley would want about 3 mil for him and he is not a 3 mil player, saints need to sign players to take them to the next level, all this nonsense is from the austin camp and he can try as much as he likes but saints are simply not interested... It will not happen

rangers have a scout looking at james vardy tonight ....on another note with performances of S.FLETCHER and JORDAN RHODES things are looking up for scotland 2 very good strikers {Ed003's Note - Fleetwood want £1m for Vardy and the player to be loaned back for the rest of the season ]

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That rules out rangers then as they have no money and if they did would not loan him to the club when their forward line is in dire straits

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally must be lying to us all then eh?When he says that he has money,if he sells players or not.Every time he is asked in interviews. The question is do we want to spend £1 million quid,on a non league player? If he was to come to us?When we could go for a goal machine like Ryan Donnolly at Airdrie for a much cheaper price.Bomber Brown is going to watch Vardy any how.Ally

Had it confirmed tonight that Shrewsbury have had a bid accepted for Bury midfielder Patrick Cregg, personal terms have yet to be discussed. Graham Turner also has plans to bring in a goalkeeper and striker during the month, with Birmingham keeper Jack Butland top of his wish list, after impressing on loan at Cheltenham earlier in the season. Heard from an ex-pro today that Rangers were trying to quietly sell Jelavic and Steve Davis but is now common knowledge and most clubs will only pay reduced fees. Kyle Lafferty was supposed to be sold as well but his injury has scuppered this and this means 1 or 2 others will go. He said Riordan is a real possibility and Sandanza and Davidson from St.Johnstone were main targets but there is a big difference in wage demands.

I heard McGugan could go for 1.5 mil. Don't know if thats true but if it were he would add quality and some mad skills to da midfield.
We could let De Laet go. He backs off from forwards quite a bit, as does Tierney (though he's great at crosses.) When Ward gets back we will have plenty of options. Don't know if we have to keep De Laet til Summer or not now. As for strikers, i'm not sure about letting Chris Martin go. I thought he was good when i saw him at Chelsea. Had some good close ball control and dragged defenders out of place. He has a wicked powerful shot too. Any thought's?

Leicester will go afte Jordan Rhodes, after Billy Sharp looks set to sign a new contract with Doncaster

Believable2 Unbelievable1

10 Jan 2012 20:11:07
Liverpool have opened talks with Blackburn over a £7m move for David Hoilett but they will have to fend off Tottenham,QPR and Bolton for his signature. Liverpool are tracking a number of players with a view to summer moves most of their targets are unproven youngsters who have great potential but potential is just potential unless it is fulfilled and I would prefer if they were moving for players around the age of 24-28 just coming into their prime. Liverpool are looking at Xherdan Shaqiri,Luuk de Jong and League 1 Huddersfield pair Jordan Rhodes and Alex Smithies while all have potential none of them are plying their trade against tough opposition on a regular basis Shaqiri while he looks good plays in Switzerland, de Jong has potential but again the Dutch league has produced as many Alfonso Alves's as Luis Suarez's, and the final pair play two divisions lower while I would like to see some of these at the club we need players who can slot straight into the team rather than buying for the future. Alberto Aquilani will likely complete a £6.7m move to AC Milan before the end of the season once the appearances clause is triggered. Joe Cole is still a very good player but I don't see him fitting back in at Liverpool with Suarez,Bellamy,Gerrard,Shelvey and Henderson all able to play in the hole I can't see him getting in there and he is not quick enough to play on the wings which is Liverpool's main problem in my opinion not enough pace and the first player they should sign is a fast winger hence Hoilett although i'm not convinced he will be good enough to hold down a first team slot. Joe Cole will likely leave next summer along with Dirk Kuyt,Maxi Rodriguez,Fabio Aurelio,David Amoo,Stephen Darby and Emmanuel Mendy so if we could move for players slightly more mature I would be pleased as during the summer we will probably see Chelsea sign Hulk, United sign Sjneider, Arsenal sign Podolski, Tottenham sign a top class striker and City sign one or two of the worlds best so will the likes of Hoilett,de Jong,Shaqiri,Rhodes and Smithies help us keep up I can't see it too be honest and I would like a few more ambitious moves in the transfer market.

Jordan Rhodes is Nigel Adkins number 1 target for the saints during this transfer window. The club believe he will be the perfect foil for lambert, and will also work well when lambert is out of the team. Saints face fierce competition from west ham and a handful of premier league clubs, however the lure of first team football and the opportunity to help the south coast club reach the top flight could prove decisive. Wolves and Bolton have made official enquiries for Stoke's Kenwyne Jones.

And Bolton and Wolves can keep dreaming, the only reason we are taking Uchebo on trial and possibly a 3 year deal if work permit can be sorted is to replace Sidibe (injured) and as a back up for Fuller. Jones will still be at Stoke come 1st Feb.

apparantly jelavic is unwilling to leave rangers for southampton in january incase they dont get promoted, the deal to qpr is dead as mark hughes has his own targets and jelavic not 1 of them. Jelavic will only go in january if an epl team comes in for him, maybe west brom if they can afford him but it looks like ther is a chance he will stay untill the end of the season. Also doubt rangers will pay 2mil for this spanish striker, sandaza or o'connor more likely with broadfoot and mackay heading for the championship. With all the talk Leicester and there money etc I really believe people forget just how big a fortune sits behind Southampton's owners (which is something they deliberately don't bang on about) . They will not be pushed into paying OTT prices and so far have been pretty on the ball with nearly all of their transfer dealings spending very little this season, when compared to other title contenders. Most will agree they have achieved some impressive results.

Carroll scored more goals than Torres played 11 less games cost 15 million less only reason Liverpool paid 35 million is because we received 50million from Torres and were desperate for a striker who at the time had scored 11 goals in 16 league appearances for Newcastle

Torres in a straight swap for Tevez.
Pavlyuchenko to Q.P.R for around £7million.
Wayne Bridge to Arsenal on a loan deal.
George Boyd to West Ham for £2million.
Tottenham and City will battle for Ajax defender Jan Vertoghen.
Billy Sharp to Celtic for £3million if Gary Hooper secures his move to Sunderland for £6million. O'Niell will also try to sign Heskey or if money is available will bring Kenwyne Jones back to the stadium of light.
Last but not least Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United as he is unhappy with the Madrid fans. Deal believed to be £50million plus Javier Hernandez.

would love to see rohdes and snoddy at norwich, plus chris gunter. Rohdes is not impossible to get but we would be very lucky to get him considering the amount of teams that are going in for him. Snodgrass is debatable, he is out at the moment but leeds want alot more for him than he his actually worth. I read somewhere a little while ago that forest needed to sell in order to buy because they didnt have cash avaliable so a bid for gunter could be accepted if it's at the right price. We could get at least one of these three. Matt philipps would be a brilliant signing but i can't see it happening. With vaughn on the mend we will not be desperate for strikers so i can see wilbraham going.

HAHA! Swindon Town bigger than Bournemouth? Right, not quite sure how you work that one out? Also, we've actually been in League 1 (Div 2) most of the time.
I can see why Ritchie would want to join a club like Bournemouth, a) we're challenging for a place in the Championship this year, b) we've got some money behind us, c) it's a great place to live (unlike Swindon, no offence), d) he'll earn more.
So, can only see one way this one going. He won't be easy to buy because Swindon don't want to sell, plus Di Canio is such an arrogant, disrespectful tosser, he suddenly thinks he's worth £2m!! Get real mate. Some of B'mouths best players went for peanuts when we were in League 1 and they made it in the Prem/Championship.
And on a seperate note, what was Di Canio on about getting a plaque for beating WIGAN!? They're a poor team and would struggle in the Championship. I seem to remember much bigger 'giant' killings...Bournemouth beating Man United anyone?
Anyway, good luck Swindon for rest of the season, though I doubt we'll be playing each other for a long time in the league.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Swindon are a bigger club than bournemuff..theyve got more history..bigger fanbase and some might say that the town is actually same size as most cities in england if not bigger...so if they were to become succesfull the fanbase is there..where as bournemuff it isnt..when poole pirates speedway is on at same time as football the attendance at bournemuff goes down 1 thousand...enough said

Southampton need to buy at least two strikers, a midfield attacker and a keeper this transfer window if they want to head to the dizzy heights of the Premier League.
Would like to see Lucas Jutkiewicz as a good back up to Rickie Lambert signed, and Matt Phillips from Blackpool.

Darron Gibson to Everton (more than likely in the summer on a free) with Tim Cahill departing for Stoke.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim Cahill is also wanted by a number of Australian clubs, mostly by Melbourne Victory to partner Harry Kewell in midfield

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim Cahill is NOT going to Stoke. This is a rumour perpetuated by certain Stoke fans who seem to particularly pleased at the prospect and Liverpool fans who know that it annoys Evertonians. This is not meant as a slight to Stoke, who are clearly are clearly in the process of establishing themselves as an upper-middling Premiership team (whilst Everton's future is anybody's guess). I know that this is a rumour site and that 95% of what's written here won't happen but please, for everyone's sanity, can we please let this one drop?

22,000 is that all ?? Even Brighton get more than that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billionaires?? 15 million for chamberlain?? and ?? so what, if they billionaires and can afford anyone - why did they need to sell Chamberlain?? come on answer it ?? ansewer is, they needed to seel him to fund more players or Chamberlain wanted to leave to play for a better club. Come on get in the real world. If they were billionaires and had an ambition to buy any players they want do you not think Chamberlain would have stayed ?? Theres a big difference between a billion and 15 million.

Is this why southampton is linked with every player on the planet whether available or not. The facts show that the more money a club is supposed to have the bigger numpties the fans become. God save us from southampton when they sign both Messi and Ronaldo to play on their silly little ground in their silly little suberb in bournmouth

Agree0 Disagree0

I think some of our lot are probably out of school early for lunch or something, and you can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t blame them for being enthusiastic. The fact is the owners of Saints are very wealthy does not deny that N Cort?ɬ©s will only run the club as a viable business, and within the guidelines of FIFA income/wage criteria. That is why OXO was sold, and probably why we are linked with so many players. We are fortunate indeed to have a chairman of ability and a family ready to realise the dreams of Marcus. With our current and growing academy, I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m not really interested in the banter from Seagulls or the bottom feeding blue few or even the silly named cherries; all is I know where I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d rather be, and who I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d rather support?¢‚Ǩ¬¶?¢‚Ǩ¬¶. So too risky to sign him.

Something that really frustrates me about Leeds United, is a lack of positivity with the signings, don't get me wrong i fully agree with signing people on a free, if there's players out there who will add to the team, why not sign them on a free? But it's like we're determined to sign free players. Why are so many players deciding to sign for other teams, yes Townsend said it was a "no brain-er" but there's more people turning us down than deciding to sign for us. In the summer we lost the battle to sign two good players, to Ipswich! I'ts ridiculous. Why can we not challenge to sign the better players in our league, like maybe Darren Ambrose, somebody like that?

Why does everyone think Swansea are a poor team ? We have the 6th best pass % in Europe and are 11th in the EPL. Maynard Deal has a possibility of Dobbie going to Bristol City. Personally I think Blackpool want and need him with Shelvey gone

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am a Norwich fan and I certainly do not think Swansea are a poor team, on the contrary I believe you have a manager who has stuck to his principals of pass and move and play a very attractive brand of football, defensively you look spot on, and I believe a top striker would transform Swansea into a top 8 premier league club. Norwich also have a great manager who plays an attractive game however at times I feel we are over ambitious going forward, and consequently we sometimes get caught on the break and concede more goals than I would like.
In conclusion both clubs have worked wonders in the Premier league this season with limited funds and are have been a credit to the league, long may it continue.

players Bristol City could do with out and reasons why

Hunt -hasn't played in god knows how long waste of wages and get paid for nothing or he could be given a spell of 5 games to redeem him self.

Lee Johnson - Been out on loan all season doing well and we now have Kilkenny so he is out of luck.

Stead - Injury prone never plays Pittman and Maynard are always going to be in front of him.

Taylor- we signed at the time we needed cover for stead but then played Pittman pointless signing and hasn't had a chance to do much just another one in the reserves.

Woolford - wasteful when he gets his chances to play only good game was at derby away this season needs to be dropped or sold.

Stewart - out on loan now another signing who could have been good but is too slow even if he is a center back Louis Carey has a lot more pace.

Riberio - young player who was out on loan needs a chance but is never going to make in city's first team time to sell.

Clarkson - another player who has been out on loan can be good on his day but he never has it just another striker on the books.

Spence - on loan to us needs to be played or go back city need to save money and he is just adding to the wage bill if he is not getting played.

what are you opinions ?
