I've been told that there's more chance of signing McCormack than Rantie. Leeds board want sale for £1. 5 plus add ons.
Malmö will sanction January Rantie move to Boro.
Boro also looking at Ricardo Vaz Te (loan) or Luciano Becchio (loan) or Ronnie Schwartz (perm). -JRM

First prem manager to be sacked, the bookies top three
1. Pardew (Newcastle) 2. Jol (Fulham) 3. DiCanio (Sunderland) - Jol is the best bet - there is very little chance Jol surviving the season just whether he is the first to go or not.

Surely Peter Odemwingie has got to be an option, his 1.5mil transfer just fell through, reckon they are desperate to sell, he is desperate to get away so would prob accept cut in wages. Has a 1 in 3 goals to games ratio in the premiership, proper clinical finisher which is just what we need.

Eds Liverpool have made a net profit on transfers after the sale of downing but the squad looks very thin in numbers again does br have any money to spend or does it depend on outgoings if we get injuries in certain areas I think Liverpool could struggle this season. question is do we have a transfer kitty are fsg going to back rogers?

West brom have offered Peter Odemwingie to a number of clubs including middlesbrough. West brom are willing to accept 1.5 million. A lot of the other clubs have shown no interest in the player apart from middlesbrough who would like to discuss personal terms. Will it happen? There is definately talks ongoing between the two clubs.

Iv watched most of Stokes preseason fixtures (all but Wrexham) and we look promising however we lack a finisher, I know Hughes has tried to sign Oliveira, Diouf, Mba and Bony but he has failed he needs to keep trying and bring in a striker. I think that he should put bids on Troy Deeney - 6mil, Jermain Defoe - 5mil, Darren Bent - 6mil or Mame Biram Diouf - 7mil.

So People are excited about the potential signing of Ricardo Fuller, an ex preston player who is now 33 years old, I realise that we are short of players and need to rebuild but really, is this the sort of signing to get excited about or is he just another player looking for appearance money? He also will not get a huge amount of that here at the seaside but I would rather see investment in younger players to strengthen rather than older players at the wrong end of their careers who will sign for nothing just to fill a squad number.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If I was you I'd take what you can Paul itfc

Agree0 Disagree0

That will be because you are a Dripswich fan and to be honest we should be aiming for more than this Paul, all joking aside I have been reliably informed that it would already been a done deal if he could have got his gut under the table to allow him to be close enough to it to sign the contract. Some once proud clubs are going down the pan due to greedy owners taking what they can from the club instead of investing in the future of our game from grass roots level up. I have been involved in youth football up until the end of last season for the last 11 years and there is nothing feeding down to that level. Clubs are not willing to invest in youth and the future, the odd ones do and I take my hat off to them but it seems to be a depressing downward spiral for a lot of clubs. OK at Blackpool we have a sound financial base due to the chairman being very frugal, but the fans pay their money week after week and as such deserve to be treated better and given something to cheer. I was there on Saturday and to be honest I felt we were lucky to get something from the game at all, it is not down to PI he has limited resources to work with, but with the greatest respect to the guy when you bring Neal Bishop on to try and do something I am afraid that says it all. (Now climbing off my soapbox after venting my spleen). I may get involved in a little banter from time to time but I see this as a more serious issue, a cancer which is eating OUR game and I am at a loss to what we can do to make improvements for all football fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a sad fact that Angryman has brought up. It extends as far as the national team as well. One, well the only decent thing to have come out of our sad demise over the last few years is the youth set up which is now producing some good young players that will be breaking into the first team. Needs must, and I must admit to having been sceptical about our involvment in the accademy set up, still am really, but have to also say there are great benefits. In this day and age clubs in the lower divisions also need to branch out as far as they can to create income that may not be directly football related, sugar daddys may be great in the short term, but they will get their money back and then run, the fans matter not!

Agree0 Disagree0

For once I agree and until the fa prem league do something about it things are not going to change but I'm afraid money talks and the sad fact is, it won't As long as there still getting there back handlers its f** k the lower leagues were more interested in the champions league then the state of English football Paul itfc

Agree0 Disagree0

Damn you angry man i'm going to have to agree with you, our national game is in a terrible state the whole lot from the prem to the conference are in debt our national team is a joke (gawd help us if we lose tonight)It needs the whole thing to crash and start again, even the big clubs only survive because of rich benefactors man u /city/chelsea would all go bust if the man at the top pulled the plug.

West brom have signed Matej Vydra on season long loan he will wear the number 20 shirt

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As a Watford I can say you should be very happy with this purchase but if he is having a good season by January sign him permanently then because his agent is a pain in the backside and was agitating for a move from the window onwards and I would imagine if he sets the premiership alight (and you can never guarantee - but I think he will) then the agent will be trying to get him a contract with team in Europe. Best one on one finisher that our little club has ever had and quick as a whippet. Good luck for the season
