At Leyton Orient's friendly with welling on Friday my uncle had a discussion with Russell Slade and he claimed that the team was "still pretty light" and he has a couple of midfielders and a striker lined up to be brought in. Personally I would also expect another CB to be brought in, just in case of injures, hope this clears anything up

Just heard the news that Thiago has agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich from Barcelona on a four year contract. This is good and bad news for Manchester United as he was a supposed target. He has rising potential, but he hasn't really fulfilled it yet and there are already proven central midfield players around for the same price or less.

But I think that we shouldn't have bought in Moyes because if as Ferguson said that he knew he was going to retire and everyone knew that Guardiola was taking one year out of the game, so he would be back the following year, then it would have made sense for Manchester United to appoint Guardiola as manager.

The only two reasons I can think why not are for stability and that he knew Moyes really well. But Guardiola would have attracted players like Thiago to the club and we would be serious contenders for the Champions League title again, it would have made sense to appoint Guardiola.

Post a comment or agree or disagree, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts

I'm a Glasgow rangers season ticket holder and Newcastle is and always has been my favourite English team, I love the geordie people, true down to earth people, I made friends with a few of the newe fans when I was down at the Newcastle tournament in the early noughties when rangers were playing and all rangers fans thoroughly enjoyed our time with all the geordies, one question for the Newcastle United supporters, who do you guys prefer between rangers & celtic?I got the feeling when I was down that the majority definitely preferred rangers, please post back as I've got a bet on this, cheers!

I conducted a poll for you at the Newcastle Catholic Club and it seems that they preferred Celtic for some reason. Hope this helps.

Rangers are the team in England. Anyone supporting Celtic down here are either Scottish themselves or kids forced into it surely!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody likes either Old Firm side apart from their own fans. Oh, and lots of people in southen Ireland who like Celtic and Northern Ireland who root for Rangers.

2 horrible clubs in my opinion, all they are is an excuse for sectarianism.

Plus they make Scottish football totally uncompetitive.

As a spurs fan I must say I am pleasently by your transfer business this sumer, ricky van wolfsinkel (orwhatever) leroyfer, redmond, ollson already and I hope youdo manage to secure alderweireld and possibly hooper whilst keeping hold of ruddy, (unless you manage to replace him with forster) so you actualy have a competive squad that could challenge perhaps for a cup and perhaps top half of the table
