Brighton, along with Southampton, are simply overachieving. It happens virtually every season. Teams come up and have a cracking start to the season, they beat all comers and their fans get carried away to the point of predicting promotion. Reality usually bites around Christmas time, the fixture pile up caused by a combination of the festive programme, and weather affected games, generally results in tired, injured players - and THAT's when we'll see your real credentials.

Being top of the league in Aug/Sept means nothing, it impresses nobody and simply says you've had a good start. Sit atop the league once Christmas has been and gone and people will take notice. Stay top in May and you'll go up, otherwise it's just a bunch of over-excited fans getting a bit carried away and resorting to insults because they don't like the truth - and the truth is that you've both had good starts, that's it, you're the only one's predicting promotion, but if you look behind you, you'll see all the other clubs are simply forming themselves into the chasing pack, West Ham and Leicester were hot tips to go up and remain hot tips to go up, that doesn't happen by chance, the bookies don't often get it wrong, just keep looking over your Shoulders.................................................................................................................................

Yeh just like Norwich promoted last season, Leeds 7th and Millwall 9th....look at the facts

Believable1 Unbelievable2

What facts? were Leeds promoted? were Millwall promoted? NOPE so there's a fact for you matey, of the three new clubs, MOST OF THEM didn't even make the playoffs, isn't that what i said?

New clubs over achieve when they come up, fact. Most of them fall from grace at some stage, fact. Nobody wins the league in Aug/Sept, fact.

Deal with it.

Agree0 Disagree2

I've watched both Southampton and Brighton this year, and both are playing excellent football. You are correct in saying that being at the top after crimbo has more credibility, but you also sound a bit envious of South coast dream football.

Agree1 Disagree0

You might be right chap (seriously) i may be envious, i'm a Leicester fan, but i'm a realist too and have not bought in to the whole "we're wonderful because we've got some money" hoopla. I've not really thought about envy though, it's true that we've started poorly and it's also true that the South coast sides have done fantastically well thus far, but i think some (not all) of their fans could do with a bit of a reality check in the same way as some (not all) Leicester fans could do with a reality check. This stage of the season simply tells us who got out of the blocks well, it doesn't point to the eventual winners, nor does it tell us that those sides at the top will still be there in 8 months time, i have a hard time dealing with anyone who predicts abject failure or overwhelming success at this stage of the season, and yes, i know this is the banter page, but a little reality never hurt anyone!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can I just say the reality is....Southampton and Brighton to be promoted to prem, Leicester to finish bottom. lol

Agree2 Disagree0

You can say what you like, but you should expect people to laugh at you, not with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that be an electronic laugh or a proper human laugh? bothered? not in the slightest.

COYR's

Agree0 Disagree0

It'd be a proper laugh, and if you're not in the slightest bit bothered, why reply? Did you see the Leicester/Brighton score btw?

none of these tales about burnley are true . We need to keep the powder dry and not bet the ranch . Hang on a mo we dont own the ranch anymore do we . Just keep renewing tickets in march as we do . We are suckers cos we love burnley

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spend your money on gobstoppers. they cost less and last longer than a burnley match....

Agree1 Disagree0

Burnley are in complete disarray and Howe is ready to resign after the squad has been decimated by money-grabbing chairman Barry Kilby and his right-hand man Brendan Flood.

Flood is the one behind all this asset-stripping as he will owe the bank millions when he loses his court case next year and Kiby is happy to go along with it.
