a lot of rumours are going around about westbrom at the moment, I don't have these 'sources' with the club that others claim to have, but west broms transfer policy will be to bring in a handful of free transfers and loans with one or maybe two large-ish cash sums paid for higher quality players, new news however is that west brom plan to bring in demba Ba on loan, in which case more fees would be available, meaning a change in the clubs traditional transfer policy

FFC want Wigan's McCarthy in an £8m deal, but Wigan want more than double that. Rumour of player (Rodellega/Richardson) + cash but looks VERY unlikely. We will probably go for some unknown youngster, although Honda (despite fierce competition) is also being tracked as is available for free. Not going to lie about knowing somone at FFC, but heard rumour.

If he goes on loan it will be the next level, ie: a club with European football, unfortunately Albion will never be able to get him back down the hawthorns unless they play Chelsea.

A possible swap deal is on the cards between Bury and Plymouth Argyle. The Lancashire club are keen on signing Paris Cowan Hall whilst striker Andy Bishop may be heading the sunny south west.

With Graeme Jones`s departure to Everton on the horizon, and Coyle now in charge (which I posted nearly 2 weeks ago and was the only potential manager I posted), the focus is now on trying to keep Roman Golobart. Boyce has now signed a contract extension (which I also posted he was close to 2 weeks ago).
Over the next few days, the squad will be assessed and key players will be spoken to particularly Mcarthur, Kone, McManaman and Maloney.
McCarthy unfortunately will be going, however that was happening anyway, with both Arsenal and Spurs tracking him for pretty much the whole of this season. I expect the fee to be around the 11-14 million mark.
Dependant on the discussions with the above will determine how many players Wigan look to bring in. Either way, expect a busy window, with anything up to a dozen new signings to help the current FA Cup holders bounce straight back and to cope with having to play in Europe as well.

Newcastle are starting to sound like a bit of a nightmare employer. Darren Bent should reject them - any one of six or seven clubs would be very well served buying him for 6-8m and watching him score goals that make a difference.
