Walsall are going to sign striker Nick Mas**ter from local Express and Star league side the Bulls. He's a big hitter.

There isnt a local Express and Star League - Utter Rubbish
---------------------
I think you have sort of missed the point with the original post. It was a joke towards the Walsall FC editor at the newspaper after his miss-hap last week.

Quick question to any ed really, well actually two questions? The first being due to this seasons demise of english clubs in europe and the ' well deserved' fortunes of the spanish teams! due you think blatter will quote something similar about the dominance of the spanish like he did when he sulked about our teams dominating europe? when he & his wife partake in, lets say pillow talk, to get him in the mood she whispers ' inglish clubs out of ze europe, inglish clubs out of ze europe'? apparently every fancy dress party he goes to he always hires the same napoleon costume! question 2 any eds support spurs? {Ed013's Note - It wouldn't surprise me, but something tells me he may be learning his lessons and will try and keep his comments to himself otherwise he will be in for a roasting again! I think this season is an unlucky one for English clubs and they will be back next season, although I see the Spanish clubs a class above. Lets not forget Chelsea still have a chance. Ed008 is a Spurs fan}

People saying that our league is effecting our national team is untrue, look at the everdise and the netherlands, the everdise iss absoloutley shocking! Germany is also not top standard, we are a stronger league than both of the above! Sort it out stop moaning..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Not sure whose point you're making here - you seem to be saying weaker league equals stronger national team. Therefore, stronger domestic league equals weaker national team? Presumably you're talking about the English Premier League and you support one of the teams in the top half? You're dreaming if you think the EPL hasn't had a detrimental effect on at least the 72 clubs of the Football League (remember them) and on the production and development of homegrown talent. And that's about to get worse under the recent rule change that allows EPL clubs to plunder the academies of the lower leagues. Still, what do you care, right?

Maximus, who said I was Scottish? You don't need to be Scottish to see how weak the English Premiership is, fact.

I agree with max for once! you are tragic m8, slating the EPL after one poor season in europe...for the past decade english teams have dominated europe, that is a fact!

I am scottish and i don't think they have a weak league I do however think they have underperformed in europe this season and that man n and chelsea have a bit of rebuilding to do to get back to the level they were at. anyone who has a brain can see it isn't a weak league but maybe it isn't as strong as it was 4 years ago.

I don't often agree with maximus or leicesterlad because they both seem to openly despise scots and scottish football but in this case i do agree with them.

It may not be weak but it is becoming more and more uncompetitive. The target for most clubs is survival and the astronomical debt being carried by many is unsustainable. Rampant greed, silly money transfers and silly money wages - too much of the money in football goes to the EPL (90%). Of the remainder, 9% goes to the Championship and 1% to Leagues One and Two. Europe is a priority for the few who, lets face it, are hardly flying the flag for homegrown talent. I suggest the priority should be to strengthen the lower leagues with a better distribution of the wealth. Who knows, maybe that will benefit the EPL and the national team in the future?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you big man! you obviously know your football! we all know english clubs have been poor this year in european football, but i know max will agree with me give it 1 season of serious money being spent and yet again english teams WILL DOMINATE

The poor showing of our teams in Europe reflects the Prem, running fast for 90 mins isnt quality football.
Just pace and power is no longer good enough.
Spain, Germany and Holland are so far ahead of us it's unreal

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I agree with this post we lack the basic skills the epl is vastly overrated....jim
