Ex- Scunthorpe player Garry Thompson to sign for Carlisle

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Swindon have released two goal keepers including back up keeper Phil Smith. David James to sign for Swindon as back up and to help improve Wes Foderingham who had a fantastic season for Swindon, twice equaling the club record for clean sheets in a row. Di Canio and James old mates and James wants to stay in the area after his release from Bristol City.
Swindon will also make a couple of interesting signings next week that will definatly surprise a few people and without doubt show their intentions for next season...however if anymore after this are to come in they need to get rid of some fringe players first.

So his interview went very well, that's nice for him isn't it. Great bit of in-depth reporting there fella, you know his interview went well, but you're not saying he'll get the job... in other words - you're guessing.

Demba Ba is set to exit Newcastle this summer, once a club activates his 7 million pound release clause however the only problem is Ba has a clause in his contract entitling him to a certain percentage of any further transfer fees, so Newcastle could miss out on making a fair bit of profit from the sale.

Players topping Nigel Adkins Transfer Wishlist

Matt Jarvis - 4.3M Nearly a done deal

Trippier - Fee agreed for Trippier and J Rod in double swoop 10M for both players

J Rodriguez -

Hooper - Most likely January signing due to Champions League Qualifier

Zac Whitbread - Free transfer, only personal terms

Jordan Rhodes - Agreed Fee if Huddersfield fail in play offs

Jacob Butterfield - Enquired but Newcastle leading

Believable2 Unbelievable4

So in your opinion we are going to add 3 more strikers Rodriguez, Hooper and Rhodes. We already have Lambert, Sharpe, Lee, Barny, Connolly, you could also add Guly to that list. I appreciate Barny and Connolly will probable be moved on but there is no way we will add an extra 3 to the club.
I would not be surprised if we did get another 1 striker but not 3. Also i reackon Adkins will try and add a Striker with Prem experience.

Saints (who do buisness behind closed
doors) have set their sights on
Aiden McGeady from Spartak Moscow
NA sees the former Celtic winger as
the perfect player for his team. Deal
to be done before RoI set off for the
Euros Cost 7M.

The two Owens Michael and Hargeaves
are to join as pay as you play along
with Clynde who will have a five year
contract

The final piece will be Heskey Saints
need a back up to Sir Rickie and he
fits the bill

Exciting time at St Marys

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Wow that sounded alright until you mentioned those two injury prone Owens and Heskey.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only way Heskey fits the bill is if saints are looking for some one to inspire Lambert into not missing a game as if he has Heskey as back up Saints are doomed! Looking to sign better players not world beaters just good players

who are any of you to criticize him? let's not forget that Martinez has avoided relegating with Wigan, He defeated Arsenal, Sunderland, Newcastle, and almost drawing City. by the way his "relegation" squad beat Liverpool once and drew once. who ever will be the next manager is already going to fail if hes going to be dealing with likes of some people on this site. Wenger came from a random Japanese club. he hasn't won anything except the THE PREMIER LEAGUE! Spanish coaches always play sexy soccer

Andre Villas Boas favourite for me. Chelsea was the wrong team for him and he wasn't able to make his transfers but given freedom he could lead us into the top 4. He has world class experience and might be able to get some of those great Porto and ex-Porto players.
Rogers would be my seccond choice. Risky but good with transfers and if it pays off we would do really well from it.
Sorry Martinez, wrong club for you

Cant believe Leicester are signing Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood. Hes currently at the King Power undergoing a medical. I cant help but think its a desperate move as he hasnt played league football before. He aint exactly cheap either costing 1m possibly rising to 1.7m. Can anyone shed any light on him as a player as i have no idea what hes like?

Good luck blackpool and chelsea saturday!

LeicesterLad {Ed003's Note - Small, tricky and fast,can play as a winger or striker }

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Leicester lad .. give this boy a chance ..
stocky and quick .. watched him v blackpool fa cup . and tight .... oyston offered 1 mill straight after game!
he will make the grade !

maximus

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers lads he sounds very promising. I know a lot of championship clubs were after him so cant wait to see him in action pre-season. Hopefully we get rid of waste-of-space Beckford now!

LeicesterLad

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford a waste of space? He finished 2nd behind Nugent with 15 goals for goodness sake! Are you one of those clever foxes that was calling Yakubu crap for 'only' scoring 20 goals when he was on loan at Leicester?

What is it you people want from a striker, someone who scores goals, or someone who runs around like a headless chicken "giving his all" but never actually mustering a shot on target, ala Robbie Savage?

Vardy has the potential to be a very good player, he's expensive because he's in great demand and Pearson has dived straight in to secure him before someone else does. He'll line up alongside Shluup and will probably play as much next season, the odd game here or there, the league cup, a few appearances off the bench, but he'll be learning as he goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

You clearly know nothing! Robbie savage was a great player for us! Beckford might have have got 15 goals but he's lazy and is only there for the money...he could of had 30 goals the amount of chances he had...the goals he did score my nan would have finished! Gimme the Yak all day long! Look at his attitude away to Leeds last day of the season! Ship him off to 'Leicester rejects Utd (Leeds) and have done with it!!

LeicesterLad {Ed025's Note - you usually talk utter rubbish...but i agree with you on this one..

With Man United choosing Kagawa, Gylfi Sigurdsson's destination of choice is Reading. If the Royals have a severe lack of judgement and turn down the chance to re-sign their academy product, he will move to Swansea, unless a bigger club come in for him.

Michael Owen has said he would be willing to drop down to the championship but would only join a club with ambition. Under Warnock I feel we have plenty of ambition. Also simeon Jackson is looking for a way out of Norwich to gain first team football with Leeds, leicester, Burnley and derby all interested in signing him

Believable1 Unbelievable7

I can see owen goin to a lower prem team hes still gd enuff when hes fit !

Agree0 Disagree0

Umm, Michael Owen has said that the Championship is "not an option" - shush

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen has always said he would never drop down the leagues.

However, he was offered to Reading on loan in January but the club said no in favour of signing Jason Roberts.

I do though believe on a permanent basis is a totally different story. He will stay in the PL.

In order to settle these silly big club arguements I have come up with a formula.

Average Attendence in past 20 years: to the nearest thousand then x5 for pts- so 22,300 would = 22x5 or 110pts
Number of Years in top flight:1pt each
Number of Years in Prem: 1pt each
Title Wins: 8pts
FA CUP wins: 4pts
Lge Cups: 2pts
UEFA/CWC: 4pts
Champ/EC: 10pts
League positions in past 10 years: add them all up for a score
1st prem:100pts
2nd-90
3rd-89 right down to 1pt for 23rd lge 2

i have no axe to grind I just thought it would give a fair score that takes into account history fan base but gives weight to recent performances.

try doing your club score :D

all wolves players who signed contracts with wolves agreed to a 30percent pay cut if relagated,so we really dont need to sell and jez moxley would not sell them cheep but would let them go to rebuild the squad so 4 mil ... i doubt it but jarvis could go because we have good enough wingers in the sqad to get out the championship

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Every club has these clauses in their players contracts, and yet they all have to cut costs further!

Don't kid yourself that Wolves wont miss the £65m - of course they will.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2012 00:38:07
Why would we even want jarvis? He hasnt exactly done the business for however many seasons for wolves. I dont really care who we buy,im more worried about who we let go. Yea,everyone can say they will stay and pledge themselves to saints but if a bigger club with bigger wages come in then the likes of adam, ricky, morgan, jose and jos could all leave. Sucks, but money is evil, and the promise of europe could be all to much. Watch out for that pardew up north!! Bring back papa! He was too quick for league 1 but would probably stay onside in the prem! Plus he always played with a smile on his face..

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I seriously doubt saints have any players the top six would be interested in so stop worrying, perhaps a decent season in the prem and Wolves might buy one or two when we return next year. Calm down tong was in cheek for the second part of the post

Agree0 Disagree0

OP sort your life out!
Jarvis is actually a good player and I would see him as a welcome addition to the Saints squad.
A side that won promotion to the premier league and is financially stable is also not going to go around selling their best players!
What is wrong with you? Calm down.
