Sheffield united to sign Matty Phillips and Billy Clarke before the end of this months tranfer window. IN this deal we will see Quinn going the other way as ian Holloway is a big fan of the Irish WInger and will also see players such as George long and Terry Kennedy going out on loan with teams such as Rotherham united and Crawley interested. United are also showing interested in Matt tubbs which could include one of the fringe players going their on loan. {Ed003's Note - Clarke is a possibility,but Phillips has interest from Prem teams so cant see that one }

Appleton said in an Express FM interview that he will be in talks about keeping Joe Mattock, and the chance of George Thorne coming back until May. He will be talking to West Brom ths week.

I can't confirm that the deals will definetly be made however it sounds like Joe Mattock is happy to countinue at Portsmouth.

The Southampton bubble HAS burst, I REPEAT - HAS BURST !! I as at the match today and Brighton (without key players may I add) were by FAR the better team. Saints are nervous, they are bottling it. Leeds United's Robert Snodgrass is subject to a £3.5m bid from Leicester City.

Leeds are also set to lose Luciano Becchio to Estundiates for £500k.

Leeds will use the money from the sale of the players to swoop swiftly for Notts County's Alan Judge and Sheffield United's Ched Evans.

Yes because we'd sell Snodgrass for 3.5 mill (get real) he's valued by Ken Bates and I repeat by KEN at £10 mill.
Becchio has faded a bit, but £500k is peanuts. KEN values at £3mill (these prices aren't made up there what Bates has said on Yorkshire Radio whenever he's asked about rumours of the 2 leaving.

Ched Evans is crap and who the F... is Alan Judge? Come back with some real rumours. Grayson pointed out last transfer window that Leeds will only sign players that add quality and are either ex prem or experienced championship.

Apparrently watching non-league wonder player Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood Town in the Blue Square Bet Premier. Other interested teams include Birmingham, West Ham and Ipswich along with the other 26 clubs who've been scouting him regularly. 1 is rumoured to be Manchester United. Not saying a bid is certain, but he is being scouted.

Ipswich are to sack manager Paul Jewell after less than a year in charge. The club will announce this on Thursday, with Chris Hutchings and Sean McCarthy also leaving the Suffolk side. Caretaker manager will be Russell Osman assisted by Steve Mccall.

Ipswich will open an application process for the new manager but it is thought Steve Bruce, Sean O'Driscoll, Lee Clark and Karl Robinson will all be linked to the expected vacancy.

Town will want someone in place soon so that they can take advantage of the transfer window. Owner Marcus Evans is expected to back the new manager financially.

No further news on possible transfer targets.

Kenny Daglish is looking to bulk up his attack. Luis Suarez could miss nearly half of Liverpool's remaining league games if he loses his appeal and with Alberto Aquilani close to completing a £6.7m move to AC Milan Henry and Co. are willing to spend but not unless their is value in the market. Liverpool have been linked with Hazard,Lavezzi,Higuain etc. but eachwould cost £25-35m and Liverpool won't be spending that much on one player however they are looking to spend £25m on two players who could really make them top four contenders and maybe title contenders next year.Lukas Podolski is available for £15m while Ibrahim Affellay is available for £10m Joe Cole will most likely not be coming back to Anfield and I expect it could be Maxi Rodriguez's last seasons while it could also be Dork Kuyt's last season these two need to be replaced and Affellay and Podolski at £25m could turn out to be bargains.

The reason Michael Chopra has been left on the bench for Ipswich is because he is set to join West Brom for £2m. West Brom are lacking goals and they see Chopra as a cut price finisher. Ipswich only paid £1m for him so they see the opportunity to double their money and go back in for Billy Sharp. Sharp is said to be keen to move from Doncaster but will have better offers than us so it will be interesting to see who Jewell signs if Sharp doesn't arrive.

If Ipswich are leading against Nottingham Forest don't expect to see Chopra come on. He'll only come on if we're drawing or losing.

I'm gutted to see him go. His movement is first class and if we actually gave him some service he'd be amongst the top scorers in the division.

Hopefully town will go down
