Middlesbrough set to sign Bristol Rover's winger Mustapha Carayol for a fee of £400,000 in the coming days. If the deal does fail to go through however, Tony Mowbray will look to Queens Park Rangers' winger Hogan Ephraim. Ephraim, who spent a lot of last season on loan, seems to be the perfect replacement if Carayol fails to sign. Middlesbrough fans will be to stranger to Ephraim, who scored the opening goal of a 1 - 1 for Bristol City during the latter part of the season, almost denting Middlesbrough's play off hopes.

Middlesbrough to sign either Stuart Parnaby, who has been training with the club for the past few months following his release from Birmingham, or Republic of Ireland international Stephen Kelly whose contract expires tonight. Kelly is an experienced right back and it is thought that if Boro manager Mowbray was to release Justin Hoyte and Tony McMahon, he will be able to afford Kelly's wages. Kelly would join on a one year deal with the option to extend if the Championship club manager promotion.

Get real it said in the paper that Stoke want Fletcher for £10 million tonight.He has lready been sold once for £6.5 million.And proved that he is a goal scorer in that league.So why would they let him go in the cheap?It says Stoke want Steven Naismith from Rangers,as there new strike force for next season.

Stoke certainly have interest in Fletcher can tell you that. Naismith will go to Everton and not too upset about that.

The PFA have backed Stoke's move to sign Ex-Rangers exile Jamie Ness. This now also paves the way for other players wishing to leave the club, one of those is Steven Naismith who is also a target for Stoke.

Stoke are also closer to signing Blackburn's Martin Olsson now that he has handed in a transfer request.

Sounds like 3 great signings for Stoke with hopefully more to come.

Norwich City FC confirm the signing of Scottish international Steven Whittaker for free after the 28 year-old rejected to stay at Rangers, and the 6"1' defender who plays RB/CB mainly may mean the rumours of kyle naughton coming to Carrow Road permanently/on loan are probaly untrue, which is a real shame.

But either way, Whittaker is a fantastic signing for free on 4 year deal!

Whittaker hardly ever play centre back,and is better as a right and left back.And for me his best area to play,is a defensive midfielder.Where he shuts down tricky wingers.He should be your right back for next season though.And Martin will continue playing C.B

Big shame and dissapointment that saints didn't try fir Danny Guthrie, he would be a quality signing and now he's gone to Reading...

Guthrie was apparently looked at by Saints, but then disrearded as not the type of player for the squad - and the Reading made an approach...COYRs
