Liverpool will come 10th at best

10th is kind, liverpool fans are deluded and are in for a shock next season. Kenny will bottle it and walk

Are you aware that your bias is seriously affecting your football judgement.
What is your next posting going to be --Accrington Stanley to win the Champions League.

QPR will not come 13th. you must be nuts, they are destined for 20th.

why is everyone saying barnsley are going down?

1. yes we are usually around that area but new team and whole new management and new style thats working in pre season.

2. yes it is only pre season

but you can't suggest a team who has scord 15 goals and conceded one out of 4 games surely aren't one of the favourites for relegation more like mid-table at minimum.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I am a football lover and therefore not a
Barnsley supporter.
That was a joke by the way.
Now seriously, I would tip Barnsley to be my overachievers in the Championship which I can see being a very competitive division this coming season.
I think they have made a very good pick in appointing Keith Hill as manager. His record at Rochdale over a number of seasons has been excellent and he is used to working with very limited resources and not at all a manager who thinks he can buy success. This seems to me to make him an ideal man to look after Barnsley.
I know I've written this bit before but I have a feeling that there could be a couple of surprises on the relegation front this season. There are so many teams who fancy their chances of a successful campaign they can't all be right.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt include Barnsley to get relagated this season. West Ham to win the league with maybe Ipswich to join them. 3 relagated teams from the championship are Derby, Peterborough, and Birmingham

Liverpool to struggle next season and come mid table as they realise they have too many overpriced average players and a has been manager

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Liverpool are a joke and 35 mill for carroll is crazy considering he is a donkey. Although he will fit in with the other 10 donkeys on the anfield library pitch

Agree1 Disagree0

Good luck in europe liverfool.....oops i forgot
Man U rule

Agree1 Disagree0

Quite right, Carroll is way overpriced at 35 mill. However, you failed to mention that Suarez looks a snip at 22mill and that getting 50 mill for torres was a masterstroke.
Carroll plus Suarez for Torres and approx 7mill is a very sound deal..
Adam is a top signing for the money. Henderson may be overpriced but too early to be sure about that. Downing 20 mill or thereabouts, that's plenty too but Liverpool are investing in the team because they have a bit of catching up to do with the usual top four but they are on their way and KK is a proven manager with a good track record.
I don't support Liverpool (or Man u Man C Arsenal or Chelsea ) but you would have to have a pretty jaundiced view not to believe that they will make a bigger splash in the premiership this coming season than they have done of late.

Agree0 Disagree1

If Carroll is overpriced, then wasn't Rooney when he first burst onto the seen, had talent and is probably worth more than that now, but no way was he worth 26mill at the time, same with Phil Jones, talented, worth 16mill? no way. Same with Carrick -18mill, Berbatov - 30mill, Veron - 28mill, Bebe - 7mill (who fergie didnt even see play haha) At City, Milner and Lescott - nearly 50mill for the two Wayne Bridge moved to City for 10mill. Wright Phillips went the Chelsea for 20mill.

Carroll and Henderson are young, and have talent, not worth their price tag at the moment, but could become top players. Downing isn't worth 20mill but neither was Milner, or Lescott, who city payed more for Every club has been been guilty of over paying for players

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney was worth the money - he scored a hatful in his first season, had been wanted by Europe's top clubs, and had a great Euro '04. Carroll was quoted as a 500k asset in NUFC's books only 16 months ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney was worth 26million? he scored 15 goals at Everton in two seasons, his price was that because he was talented yeah, but mostly because he was english and young. you could of bought a proven top striker from abroad for less than that. Means nothing, he scored a lot in the championship and had a great season last year before his injury. Hes a talented player, not worth 35mill, but good potential there.

pastore, lukaku, neymar, sanchez didnt fancy a move to chelsea, has the chelsea era already come to a stop, failure to win europes top prize, failure to dominate england, failure to become a self funding club by 2010, and still aint, i see a similar thing happening at city, im sure they will win the league but it wont last, 2-3 years and then it will grind to a halt, just like chelsea, it will only last as the sugar daddy spends, but at some stage he will stop and city will have to balance books and be self funding.so i dread the next couple of years as a another sugar daddy buys all the trophies again but i know it wont last, thank goodness.

Phil Brown, P.N.E. manager has had a major bust up with the chairman Morris Lindsay, over the transfer budget. It appears that PNE are still loosing £20,000 per week, and that Treacy and Baton will have to be sold, to fund the loss, and help to pay Mellors wages. Brown has gone again Lindsay, and kept Mellor. It is rumoured that Brown has threatened to walk over the signing of players. Matty Hill being one, as his wages where with in wage budget, but Lindsay refused to sanction the deal. If no left back is signed before next week it could, push Brown and Horton into leaving.

Wright Phillips could be doing a seasons loan to Bolton as a replacement for Lee Chung Yong after breaking his leg. Sounds plausible as he wants away and Bolton were linked in january. Suppose City have the money to pay a large percentage of his wages too. Another name was Bentley but can't see Bolton affording his pay packet or see Tottenham contributing. We've lost a great player... Guttered.

I am not a 'deluded' fan, i am a normal southampton fan. Deals are done behind closed doors so we cannot be entirely sure about signings until they are on the official site.

Going by the fact the Martin is still quite young and seaborne is making mistakes left right and centre, and jaidi struggled in league1 i would expect Adkins and Cortese to bring in a CB especially see-ing as the number 5 shirt has been reserved. Also wouldn't be surprised to see a striker arrive, although i think Guly, Lambert, Barnard, Connolly and Forte are all quality, the deal for sharp fell through, so we could still be in the hunt for a striker.

As far as people leaving the club, i would only expect Puncheon and Mills as they were both left out of the squad numbers, Mills has had a trial with preston and puncheon, for some reason that blows my mind, is wanted by numerious clubs.

Couple of possible names:
CB
Ammar Jemal
Kaspars Gorkks
Matt Kilgallon and Anton Ferdinand also been rumoured but abit less likely.
ST
Lukas Jutkiewicz
Nicky Maynard
David Goodwillie
Leroy Lita
Simon Cox

One final thing, this is a rumour website, so please do not post predictions of league tables or made up fantasy transfers like AGBONLAHOR, wtf?

He said he would think about it not that he would.

Any body who thinks QPR have 40 million to spend on transfers are daft, they have a 40 million budget for all club expedature including the next January transfer window which only leaves about 10 million for now.

Bellow:Recently released statement from QPR spokesperson on Kewell and Neil

"These potential signings could be a shrewd bit of business for Neil Warnock. In Neill they would posses a highly competitive individual who thrives on the intensity of the Premier League. If Kewell can avoid any injury concerns, then he could supplement our attacking options.

Perhaps not from the start, but a cameo role would allow the once much wanted winger's ability and technical prowess to flourish in the vital closing stages of games, which inevitably tend to decide the fate of the newly-promoted clubs. Providing two men in the twilight of their careers, a chance to make their mark on the premier league once more. I think they will fit in well"

English Premier Teams are a joke, paying crazy money for players that are practicaly rubbish, and the spl teams pay little money for players that are just as good. English football bores me, more excitement in the spl at least rangers n celtic work hard to get through european games.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Rangers aint going to get through there European game, Also not many scottish players move from there domestic leauge to the EPL becauase they are not good enough, Barry ferguson was rangers best player for years move down here he was terrible, Kenny Miller prolific in SPL, terrible EPL aprt from charlie Adams and i will chuck in Hutton i am struggling to find player from the SPL that have cut it in the EPL fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only half decent excitement in the SPL is the old firm, which is basically a street fight

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Darren Fletcher and Steven Fletcher... If the standard of English players were good why are so many foreign players being brought in season after season

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen mate i wouldnt compare the SPL to the EPL. Scotland has a population of around 5 million compared to Englands 50 million. Try comparing it with a similar size and the spanish league spanks your a**e

This championship season is going to be a tough one, i reckon Barnsley and peterborough will go down and the third place will be one from these three, Hull city, Crystal palace and doncaster Rovers.Birmingham will go up as champs, Forest second and third will be leeds or west ham.Millwall, cardiff, Ipswich will finish mid table.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

I do agree with your view that the Championship will be a very very tough league this year with so many teams fancying their chances of going up and many of them with good reason to do so.
I must say though that I would be surprised if Birmingham went back up and absolutely amazed if they went back up as champions. In the longer term, say two to three years hence , i think they will be good bets for promotion but at the moment there surely must be too many players leaving all at once and too much financial insecurity about the clubs future. These things invariably transmit to the performances of the team on the field.
Also Barnsley will look to many like candidates for relegation but I'm not so sure. I think Keith Hill is a first rate manager and has plenty of experience in trying to progress a team off meagre resources, witness his splendid performance at Rochdale. i would go for Barnsley to exceed expectations this season.
Sticking my neck out ( and these are very tentative selections) i would take West Ham to be champions, Blackpool to be runners up and Leeds United to come through the playoffs. i can already hear people disagreeing with this. That's fine, but don't tell me that this season will be a cakewalk for any team in this division.
i don't really see the promoted teams doing more than average, it is quite a big step up from Div 1 and to sustain it over an entire season is not easy.
Relegation that's very tricky because its so competitive but i have a feeling that there could be some surprises this year because there aren't any 'usual suspects' this time round.

I'm really starting to get fed up of the people who are constantlyslagging offNorwich for buying as they call 'nobodys' and the fact that because of this they will go straight back down. No surprise that these comments are coming from the supporters of the BIG 4 who clearly haven't seen any football that QPR, Swansea and Norwich have played last season. I hope these supporters are proved wrong and all 3 of these teams avoid relegation.

----------------------------

I know this is a rumour page but I would just like to wholeheartedly agree with the above comment. Nobody in the premier league expected Blackpool to play the way they did last year based on the only game they had seen of them (playoff final) and it is no different this year. Both QPR and Swansea have much better long term defensive records than Blackpool did, and even Norwich have an uncanny ability to score more than their opposition or snatch it right at the death. I say give all 3 promoted teams a fair chance and judge them based on their performance over a season and not their 'size', reputation or postcode.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree and its Celtic who have the biggest fan base. So scottish football is crap but they still take near 60'000 to each game. Commons is one of the better players cause there aint much cash in the SPL. TV money keeps EPL alive and without it it would be in dire straits and a bog standard league

Agree0 Disagree0

TV money may keep the EPL alive, but there's a reason why, 'cos it's the best league in the world which attracts the best players in the world, who people want to watch week in week out. Also, money isn't what the EPL is all about, clubs like Blackpool, with little money, have made the league what it is, exciting and unpredictable, something the SPL isn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not get carried away mate...best in the world....is your sky tv broke or dont you get spanish football...the top 4/5 in epl carry the rest who are lets say "average".

Clearly is the best league in the world as its the most viewed in the world mate. spanish football is good to watch yeah, but not nearly as competitive.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Spanish league is far more entertaining and better players. The German league is just as entertaining as the EPL too. So you keep comparing yourself with the SPL with a 5 million population lol

to all the so called fans of the "bigger clubs" than celtic... take away the sky money and what would you have or even relegation..money can buy status and make you a big club overnight ...but are you a big club when things go wrong..you guys are saying we are not playing in a good league..put your team into our league and see how big a club you really are..put our team in your league and we will show you how massive we are..........epl champs in 5 years .....cmon the hoops

What a rubbish post

Put Man utd in the scottish league they would win every game and not concede a single goal they would get into europe and still get into last 4 as normal- man utd are a brand and dont need the money from what sky gives them they have enough sponser fan base to be a big club becasue they are

would chris commons sign for man utd no lol but he is celtics best player a joke

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Still would not be able to pay the wages they pay now if they played in the spl.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ANY club in the Premiership would win the SPL...actually most of the Championship would have a pretty good chance haha

Agree0 Disagree0

CHELSEA reserves would beat your national side

Celtic once won the european cup many many years ago yes but to get there they had to beat inverness and st mirren and dumbarton to be spl champions

well done

jock football lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic won the european cup, chelsea cant even buy it. lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and English football is awesome... We'll win the world cup we'll win the euro..lol big team my a**e. Any time you face a proper big side you get skelped, blame the players, sack the manager and start a riot... too many foreign players paid for by TV money that makes EPL look good but still over shadowed by the Spanish and German leagues lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but celtic wont be in the european cup (cl) for many years to come

Facts are facts for watever reason, man city recently returned from the usa and terrible crowds, celtic have thousands out there, im not a celtic fan but its fair to say celtic are global,

After getting a lesson in european football by Malmo last week - Ali Mccoist has questioned why Scottish Football is getting the Champions league spot for coming first and sees it being more realistic that they be given a place in the Johnstone Paint Trophy in england as reward for winning the SPL. He also stated he hoped for a good draw and avoid league one Clubs in the early rounds as he would be worried of getting beaten.

Notts County are in league one and Mansfield are non-league. Yes County are corrupt in winning promotion a year ago with a squad they couldnt afford and broached football league rules income to wages and are dislked by anyone outside Nottingham but yes they are bigger than Mansfield, but can see them being on par next season with mansfield going up and notts going down thats a given

Notts Forest are favourites to land veteran Forward Lee Hughes as the swap deal with chesterfields Jack Lester fell through last week, with Lester joining the queue in snubbing County. Adam Smith from Mansfield Town is Martin Allens next target, but faces competition from various Blue square teams for his services

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This post has errors in it

1. Lee Hughes is rubbish and wont be playing for Forest
2. Adam SMith would not leave mansfield for a small club like Forest Reserves
