re: Norwich population just 132,000 ....Carrow Road is, on average, filled with 25, 386 fans for every home game......equivalent to Birmingham City getting 190,000
---------------------------------------
Hardly a fair comparison. Birmingham have villa,
wba, Wolves, Coventry and Wallsall within a
short distance. Wheras Norwich have
Ipswich 46 miles
and the mighty Peterborough 83 miles away.
And besides what else is there to do in Norfolk

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Eat carrots, drive tractors and worry how to avoid relegation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich has a population of 259 thousand NOT A 130 thou one also have to remember the 25 thousand who go are prob from half a dozen families A family season ticket there serves thousands

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats the kind of remark we expect from thick numpties like you What else is there to do in Norfolk you ask, well being an ex Brummy I can tell you Birmingham has nothing to compare to us, you lot mock us but save up all year to have 2 weeks on our beaches and breath fresh air, Oh By the way No one gave us a chance when we went down to league 1, look what happened we romped it, leaving behind the teams that went down with us. No one gave us a chance in the Championship, Look what happened, all the teams who think they are better than us are still there, All I say is Don't write us off to soon in the premier league, No Norwich fan expects us to win the league or finish up top, but we bileave we can stay up and shock a few teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have met your Waterloo now you are in the prem. All those "big" teams will show you lot the exit door. Small clubs have no chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will see, Wigan Wolves only managed to stay up by the skin of thier teeth,We are better than both them

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, agreed. So you will finish 3rd bottom you still go down...bye bye.

Liverpool are finally offloading players, after signing Henderson, Adam, Downing and Doni they badly needed to trim some of the deadwood which is eating up the clubs money without contributing back to the club. Konchesky and Jovanovic have already left the club while QPR are close to agreeing a year long loan deal for Joe Cole. AC Milan are ready to offer £9m for Alberto Aquilani while Fiorentina are also still interested. Roma are interested in Emiliano Insua while Stoke are set to offer £1.5m for Christian Poulsen should they fail to land Joey Barton who is likely to end up on the blue half of Mersyside. Philippe Degen and Nabil El Zhar have been told they are free to find new clubs and El Zhar has held preliminary talks Busaspor.Daniel Ayala is close to agreeing a £500,000 move to Hull City while Liverpool are willing to listen to offers upwards of £3m for Dani Pacheco who has asked to leave.Liverpool will be saving hundreds of thousands of pounds a week in wages. Liverpool are close to agreeing a £5m deal to bring Newcastle left back Jose Enrique to the club. Sotirios Krygiakos will be offered to Athletico Madrid along with £10m in exchange for Uruguayan centre half Diego Godin.Liverpool are also keeping close tabs on young Spanish winger Iker Munian and could make a move this window if they manage to offload all the players they plan on. Liverpool are also trying to trim their massive squad for more quality rather than quantity and the likes of Bouzanis, Irwin, Mavinga and Bruna have already left while a few others such as Eccleston and Ince will also likely be moved on to make room for some of the more promising youngster such as Sterling, Suso, Robinson and Coady. Jonjo Shelvey and Danny Wilson are up for loan's to continue their development.Liverpool have also lost the likes of Mascherano, Torres and Babel since last year replaced with Meireles, Carroll and Suarez so come kick off nearly half the squad will be different to the start of last season which is why they may not start as fast as fans would like but given a bit of time to gel I think Liverpool will have a better first team and a much much better squad coupled with a new manager, new coaches, a new owner, new optimism and plans for a new stadium the good times will be back at Anfield sooner or later.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

What " new manager, coaches, & new owner"? Same as last season arnt they? That is half a page of nothing, why dont you start writing us a daily diary? LiverFools.

Ipswich offered more money than Leeds, and Andrews apparently didnt think he would make the starting eleven at Elland Road (like Bannan last season), and rightly so, it would be like us re-signing Kilkenny.

Andrews is too lightweight for anything above League 1, and so is useless in the competitive, physical Championship.
The reason you're called the 'tractor-boys' is because you're never able to catch up to the big teams, no matter how much horsepower you have. Take the hint. Go get relegated. With signings like that, you AND Millwall could be on the chute.
wally"

Actually Tractor Boys was coined by Man City fans as a detrimental slur on the Town fans who were seen to be farmers due to the club's rural home county, Suffolk. The chant was 'No noise from the tractor boys'. So not about a lack of horsepower. However the Horse on the badge and the ability of a tractor to go off road may hint that being the tractor boys has an advantage to it. So, ermm, nice one.

Rumour has it Rangers are out of the Champions League already. Most championship teams would have beaten that side. Great advertisement for the tin pot super competitive SPL.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Malmo were 6 months ahead of Rangers, in there season. So I do not think that most championship teams would have beaten them.Especially with 9 men, like we were.Scottish clubs have a bad record against Swedish clubs anyway. So it was no great shock. Its time we had summer football in Scotland. It would give our teams, a better chance of a run in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh look, here come the jock strap excuses. If Rangers had gone there looking to play football instead of looking for a fight they would have walked it. Disgusting.

Rotherham fans - looks like we have a signing before the weekend.

Roy Donovan from Coventry?

Any ideas what he is like?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's a nice lad, although no one knows if he is much cop as a footballer due to lack of first team action. Done well in pre-season; fairly rapid, apparent eye for goal... your guess is as good as ours, though, and this is his second spell at the Club.

Rumours about Sammy Clingan leaving Coventry City are well wide of the mark.

Coventry have appointed two new directors today and are close to announcing serious new investment into the club. All those writing Coventry off could be in for a big surprise.

Coventry also expected to announce at least one and possibly four new signings, some loan, some permanent, in the next few days. May include big name from the Premier League.

I am 99% a believer of this statement i had read; Leeds Utd, would have to pay back all of their debts from the adminstration period if they are promoted back to the premier league before the season 2012/2013.
This is why we have always lost in the play offs, does anybody remember watford in the play offs lost how we were humiliated.
we would have to pay back the other 90p in the pound, bates will never do this. I can not see any great prospects for my Leeds Utd.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

There is another reason......you are just useless.

I thought it would have gone from the 18p in pound that we payed to 40p in pound . but that ended last year.

Cmon you reds prove all these doubters wrong and finish midtable. We all know the relegation battle is gonna be between Peterborough (lost mackail-smith), Doncaster (i hate billy sharp), Coventry (poor team) , Brighton (lost 2 best players) & Millwall (lost morisson & gained henderson, good dealing).

I Agree about most of that You just missed another team out of the relegation battle BARNSLEY as you have lost your best player in Shackel. I can see Brighton just above relegation zone. Peterborough will struggle could not survive with CMS and will certainly struggle without him. I think Millwall may have a tough season without Morrison same if Doncaster lose Sharp but there no such thing as a one man team Watford may struggle to without Graham. Bottom 3 out of Peterborough Barnsley Brighton Watford Coventry and Crystal Palace. Everyone assumes Doncaster will be relegated but that is based on last year and everyone doesnt realise the injuries they had in second half of the season.

You must be joking Surely everyone knows Doncaster will not pay over the odds for players especially unproven league 2 players. I can see Sharp leaving but to either a Prem side or top championship club such as West Ham dont think anyone else could afford what he wants to move away from the area.

burnley to sign sam vokes soon. am i the only burnley fan that questions eddie howes ability in the transfer market? he only seems to want to sign players he already knows; first austin who he knew from his bmouth trial but they couldnt sign him then, then bartley who he managed at bmouth, now jon stewart who was at bmouth before. although i think hes a good manager he was never used to spending, so he doesnt really know what to do now he has money to play with. this is why when i saw the vokes to burnley post i believed it immediately

I know its only pre-season but barnsleys played sensational, im not just going on results, watching a couple of clips of the goals, the passing is brilliant it was like keepings off, about 15 passes along the back line, forces the midfield to push up to try and get the ball, a couple of quick passes and a goal results.

Cmon you reds prove all these doubters wrong and finish midtable. Reports of West Brom's interest in signing Shane Long is one big smoke screen. West Brom's number one target is Kenwyne Jones and now that Stoke have had a bid accepted by Arsenal for Niklas Bendter, Jones will sign for the Baggies by the end of the week. The fee for Jones is believed to be £7m. Hodgson considers this a good deal and was never prepared to bid more than £3m for Long.

Could u also let me know who i should be realistically looking out for to come to arsenal. Thanks in advance for your info ed

{Ed022's Note - Being an Arsenal fan I see the defence as needing some improvement. I would like a CB brought in like Jagielka or Cahill (I also rate Vertonghen highly). I also think we need a Mata/Hazard signing to appease the Arsenal fans. As for strikers. I think Wenger will go with RVP, Walcott, Gervinho, Chamakh and Vela. Bendtner will probably be sold.}
