The Reading fc takeover has fallen through. After months of excitement and renewed expectation from the Reading fans over the wealth of the new prospective owner it is believed that Anton Zingaravich doesnt have as much money as first thought which will lead to a mass exodus of players so they can continue to keep paying the running costs of the club. It is believed that if they cant produce enough money from player sales then administration may be an option

Wonder who he supports

Agree0 Disagree0

Even though the takeover has been agreed and it's just waiting for the Premier leagues approval..

Give appy credit ,he did a great job with what he had. The team took the 10 point deduction for bad management . I hope Appy stays and is given a chance under new owners. Pompey Dave dont forget Southampton had troubles a few years ago, but good luck to them, i for one will miss the local derby which is the best in the football league

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Appy will be appier when he goes to the baggies....

winchester citys jamie white is set for a return to the football league with a number of sides chasing his signature. plymovh argyle, crawley, bournemouth, yeovil, burnley, exeter city and carlisle united are set to offer a contract to the player who is currently on non contract terms at the city ground.

white, has scored 78 league goals this season and made 2 first team starts at championship level with southampton and has 6 football league goals to his name in just 8 starts. he was forced to leave southampton due to what seemed to be a career ending leg break. however, white, now 23 has put all injury woes behind him and could become a hot bit of property when he returns to league football.

a versatile player who can play upfront or on the flanks. white was in the same sucessful southampton youth team as gareth bale, theo walcott, andrew surman, adam lallana and david mc goldrick.

Reading are looking to get 5 players
in before next season. They will have
some money available but looking
to invest in players that they can
recieve transfer fees back on in time.

The key positions they are looking to
fill are AM/ST, CM, CB, LB/RB, LW/RW

Their first choice targets are
Adrian Mariappa Watford
Jacob Butterfield Barnsley (tribunal fee)
Nathaniel Clyne Crystal Palace (tribunal fee)
Bj??rn Bergmann Sigurdarson Lillestrom
Matt Phillips Blackpool

They will all be seen as squad players
pushing the first team and have the
right professional attitude to settle
into the squad without disrupting the
balanced nature of the squad, but will
face fierce competition from other
Premier league sides.
Matt Connolly will also be brought if
possible but is not seen as one of the
five as McDermott already views him
as part of the squad.

Reading have several other players
that they are looking at, including
Peter Whittingham from Cardiff, Zak
Whitbread from Norwich and
Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea (loan)
as options if any of their main
targets fall through.

Grow up everyone who is bashing all the newly promoted teams (reading, southampton, charlton etc.) over their fans coming up with 'unrealistic' signings. When clubs get promoted, they DO make a lot more signings than most clubs... and sometimes, surprise surprise, they even purchase players they previously couldn't afford! I'm afraid people need to just accept that fans whose clubs have just been promoted are going to be in a bit of a wonderland, but they have every right to get excited because chances are they will be landing some great signings.

Nicky Barmby is expected to surprisingly sign a three year deal as manager of Hull City but will not be allowed to sign anyone unless they sell. He will though be allowed to bring his own backroom staff in and has been told by the City board they are financially in trouble.
Barmby may add Paul Gerrard to his staff to be their new goalkeeping coach after making contact to his club Oldham Athletic late last night.
Barmby may bring in David Unsworth as his assistant. Unsworth has recently retired and could sign a three year deal along with Barmby to help run a potentially promotion chasing team.
Newcastle youth team coach Dave Watson is thought to be in talks with City over a possible role that could appoint him as 'Head of Youth Academy' at The KC Stadium on a two year deal.

Barnsley boss Keith Hill is keen on adding a number of new additions to his squad in the close season as he wants a top half finish.
A priority for Hill is a new goalkeeper to compete with first choice Luke Steele. Former Northwich goalkeeper Lewis Edge will join up on trial as the 25 year old seeks a return to professional football. Edge currently plays for non league club, A.F.C. Fylde. Another stopper wanted by Hill is Tottenham goalkeeper David Button. The 23 year old has been on loan this season at Oakwell and could sign a season long loan deal next week.
The third goalkeeper Hill is looking at is West Brom youngster Luke Daniels. The 24 year old has been loaned out around the Football League in previous years and could link up if Edge doesn't impress in his trial, assuming a deal for Button cannot be agreed.
One player set to link up on trial with Edge at the club is former Le Havre winger William Mocquet. The right winger currently plays for AS Moulins in France and is keen on a move back to England after being signed by Sunderland as a youngster.
Another winger set to link up with the club on a trial spell could be Martin Donnelly. The Cliftonville winger is wanted by a number of Championship clubs but is keen on working under Hill.
The final winger to be trialled is Will Atkinson. The former Plymouth player was released by Hull last week and could earn a one year deal at Oakwell if all goes well.
Hill is thought to be keen on signing Portsmouth attacker Kelvin Etuhu. The Nigerian is expected to be released at Fratton Park due to their financial problems and could sign a two year deal.
The former Rochdale boss has also made contact to Bradford for their experienced defender Guy Branston. The 33 year old is wanted by a number of Championship clubs after having some fantastic campaigns in League 2 and is transfer listed at Valley Parade.
Barnsley are very close to signing Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray. The former Brighton and Carlisle hitman is keen on a move away from Selhurst Park after having an argument with boss Dougie Freedman. It is thought it could cost the club around £500,000.
With Gillingham not earning a play off spot in League 2, Hill is tempted to sign to make a move for thier midfielder Lewis Montrose. The 23 year old has impressed a number of sides this year and is believed to be subject of a £100,000 bid from Barnsley.
Another League 2 player interesting Hill is Torquay striker Rene Howe. The former Bedford forward has scored 12 goals this season and will hold talks with the Yorkshire side in July once he returns from his holiday.
Hill is expected to go back to his former club in Rochdale. Barnsley fans seem to be getting sick of a number of deals going through at Spotland and the next is thought to be midfielder Nicky Adams. Adams has impressed Hill and is not wanting to make the move down a division with Rochdale so could be available fairly cheaply.
Brighton have offered winger Will Buckley a chance to go out on loan at get some first team football and Barnsley are set to take advantage of it. The 22 year old is also wanted by a number of League 1 sides but is keen on working with Hill also.
Hill has already had a bid for Bolton striker Tope Obadeyi for an undisclosed bid and is expected to sign in the next month on a three year deal.
Another player thought to be on the verge of singing is Leicester defender Tom Kennedy. The 26 year old plays left back and has been transfer listed by City to make a possible move to Yorkshire in the summer.

Rhodes ! dream on

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford has been transfer listed by Leicester. And i believe Rhodes would be an expensive mistake for Leicester, he's good but everyone needs to remember it's in league one where players like Becchio dominated. But that team I wouldn't say is good enough to get Leicester up.
