My source who is rarely wrong informed me that Cleverly wasn't in the community shield team because Ferguson is loaning him out, after saying he wouldn't.
Ferguson was also in London to check Ozil. While he was in London Ferguson met with Ozil representatives to talk about a deal. Ozil manager knew about it and was told to keep the deal private, that is why he is saying no one has bided.

Arsenal will only sign one more player and that will be a defender i believe arsene wenger will keep manuel almunia as hes number 1 because if AW gets a defender he can rely on i don't think he will bother spending the money on someone he only wants for a season or two because he has already said he wants vito mannone and fabianski to be number 1 one day and he aint going to rumble up the goal keepers we have at arsenal already just because they have made some big mastakes in the past, at arsenal every time the transfer window opens we all hope for a big signing and as time goes by i can't see that haperning i hope we do but i don't think it will happen i just hope before the window closes we do sign a keeper like reina because he is still in hes late 20s and is a good keeper and get rid of almuna and fabianski so in conclusion if you exspect given, hart, reina, marchetti and schwarzer i would think again. Although im a Utd fan and would like to see Ozil with us i find it increasingly unlikely.
After a summer of linking to us and supposed imminent deals there is still no concrete offer or deal in sight.

After coach, Ian Durrant revealing that Gers have today submitted bids for two players on an interview earlier today on STV news, the word coming out of Murray Park is they are for the following players:
David Goodwillie (Dundee Utd) – looking like circa £1.5m + Andy Webster. – Smith was initially reluctant to include Webster but after injuring himself again before the season has even started he has decided he will never be clear of injuries.
Yohan Benalouane (St.Etienne) £1m – Webster's direct replacement.
Jelavic deal to be concluded on Thursday after he returns from international duty, £4.2m.
Also, the young Arsenal lad Barazite will come in on year long loan along with one of the two Americans being scouted by McCoist.
Welcome will not be signed as thought to be no better than what we have.

Reports coming in through "those that are in the know" is that the Jelavic deal is dead in the water. A fee of around £3.7m was agreed in principle with Rapid, but the stumbling block appears to have been both the players wage demands, signing on fee and loyalty fee from Rapid. Rangers initially offered Jelavic £15k a week plus bonuses, which was turned down by the players agent, asking for £20k plus bonuses. An agreement of £18k basic was made, then the stumbling block of both the signing on fee and loyalty fee killed the deal. The player was asking for a £208K signing on fee as well as wanting a £208k loyalty fee from Rapid, there was talk of both fees being paid by Rangers. .which was knocked back.
Martin Bain has now been told to move on and is now already onto other targets.
Don't be surprised to see moves for both Conway and Goodwillie within the next 48 hours. There is talk of a £3m joint deal on the cards and Welcome will be sent packing as it transpires that Rangers would have to pay in excess of £1m to get the player permanently, as the £500k mentioned was for a 1 year loan.(17)(20)

Bremen boss (Klaus Allof, I think) has completely denied any offers been made for Ozil. So all u guys can jst relax with the Barca talks. From what I've heard, the lad has a good head on his shoulders n isn't necessarily looking for a hefty paycheck. The only thing he's looking for is 1st team football with a great team to further his career. ManU fits the bill perfectly. Secondly, he has never said that he'd prefer Barca over ManU. In a press conference he was asked about the interest from Barca. He said that a move to Barca would be a dream move. In an earlier interview he had also said that the idea of playing for teams like ManU, Chelsea, Barca n RM is something that excites him and something he is looking forward to. i'm gonna give you a time line on wats been happening at Old Trafford so people know wats been going on.
first in Jan 2010 we bid 9m for Mesut Ozil which was turned down and we were told that he was close to agreeing a new deal so we swicthed targets to Storis Ninis, who we bid for at the start of the summer for 9.6m which was accepted but before the deal could be tied up Werder Bremen announced that Ozil was for sale so the deal was put on ice until the outcome any Ozil deal which united have been monitoring closely, we will bid for him and see where it goes but if he doesn't join then we won't be switching back to Ninis as we will be keeping Cleverley and Ninis won't be an improvement on him. This is why Sir Alex said that Cleverley would be going on loan to a prem club but then went back on it as he doesn't want to loan him out then miss out on Ozil and be left short. As of yet no one has agreed a deal for Ozil but if he does move elsewhere then don't expect anyone else to sign for united unless someone bids for Defour then a move for him will be brought forward, at the moment Sir Alex is going to access his condition and that of Uniteds in january then depending on what he feels either bid for him then or next summer. That is the plan as they stand now but things change quickly in football so who know until something is annouced.

Just because a club has an American manager it does not necessarily mean their will be an influx of American players. The American players tend to be pretty mature and, in the vast majority of cases, very low maintenance. Blimey it's been a busy day at the in the know office. I have just got off the phone to a contact in Liverpool. He has word that Liverpool are set to sign 6 players before the end of the transfer window.

Totaly agree about MON. He will take time off to spend with his family until a job comes calling. He won't return to Celtic, Give Neil a chance, He still hasn't had his 1st league game as offical manager and so called fans are calling for him to be axed.

I have some contacts in the USSF. They have yet to offer Bradley a new contract. He is currently interested in the now vacant Aston Villa managers job. Lerner would like to expand the clubs appeal in the USA and the thought is that the American Owners, American Manager and sure to be influx of American players would be a huge plus to accomplish this.
Bradley would want to bring his son, Altidore and Donovan with him. This is proving a stumbling block as Letner doesn't want to put up the funds needed to acquire Donovan and Bradley.(8)(26)

This is just my opinion on the whole Mesut Ozil Situation.
Apparently United and Barcelona have both made an offer to Werder Bremen for him. Both offers are supposedly around £13–14 million.
However I don'think Barcelona have made a bid. I was looking at Barcelona's site (www.fcbarcelona.com) and they have an article up giving a brilliant review about a new up and coming attackin midefielder who has come up through their youth academy and has played all of their pre season games and they are saying will be an excellent backup up should Xavi/Iniesta/Busquets get injured of need a break. Here is a sample of the artcile:
