Hull City's Richard Garcia is top of David O'Leary's short list at Dubai's Al-Ahli. The Irish man has a sizeable transfer war chest as he builds a football empire in the middle east. Other players have been contacted by Al-Ahli and the names I have had passed on to me are Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Jerome Thomas, Radoslav Kovac, Manuel Almunia, Habib Beye, Kris Commons, Robert Earnshaw, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz, Shaun Wright Phillips, Robbie Fowler, Dwight Yorke, Louis Saha, Rory Delap, Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Junichi Inamoto, Shinji Ono, Adriano Basso, Isaiah Osbourne and Leroy Lita.
This is a very long, comprehensive list and I can confirm that inquiries have been made with the named players' agents. I can confirm that Beckham, Scholes, Neville and Saha have all conclusively rejected the approaches. I believe that the inquiry consisted of:

Hodgson is willing to give Babel a run in the team until January as a striker. If he impresses, he will NOT sign a striker in January. He will then, in January spend big on 3 players rather than signing 4-5 squad players in:
Fabio Coentrao (19mil)
Eden Hazard (23mil)
Yann M'vila (14mil)
Aquilani and Insua will make their loan moves permenant for 13.5mil and 4.5mil respectively.
Hodgson will show his faith in the current squad and make changes in the summer. Oscar Wendt and Nathaniel Clyne will sign in the summer on frees.
Aurelio (on 45k/ wk) Poulsen (50k/ wk) and Konchesky (30k/ wk) will leave the club raising around 3mil and significantly freeing up the wage bill.(30)(32)

Why do folk keep linking Leeds striker Davide Somma with their respective clubs? I mean, I'm feeling the hope, don't get me wrong, Leeds could do with a bit more themselves sometimes, but if you just did five minutes research, you would discover that his recent absence from the Leeds team is due to his first cap for South Africa, and that he recently signed a new three-and-a-half year contract at Elland Road, so if Ipswich, Swansea and the rest ARE making these bids, which I doubt, with the enormity of their squads, then they will have to be big!
