I am an independent sports correspondent for the US news services based out of mainland Europe. It is interesting to see the number of supporters second guessing what their club is planning. The suggestion that "another milan player who will surely be offloaded will be sheva" makes no sense at all as he is on loan from Chelsea and Genoa have already expressed a keen interest in taking the player on a loan basis. Clubs in Italy, Germany and Spain are keen to do their shopping in the UK this summer due to the weakness of sterling against the euro. So some rumours that are sourced from discussions following press briefings, discussions with agents (who are looking to boost the value of their charges and discussions with other journalists:
(1) Hibernian goal keeper Yves Ma Kalambay is attracting interest from Anderlecht in Belgium.
(2) The Bayern Munich board is resigned to losing Franck Ribery during the summer – with his likely destination being Barcelona. It is most probable that they will join Chelsea and Manchester United in courting Yuri Zhirkov who will be leaving CSKA.
(3) Schalke 04 have declared an interest in Eider Gudjohnsen, but Gudjohnsen’s preferred destination is England. There is no secret to the fact that he would be keen to join Gianfranco Zolo at West Ham United. This suits the needs of both parties and the likely new owners of the club (once due diligence is complete). Schalke are also likely to make a formal approach for Tom Huddleston of Spurs.
(4) The general feeling is that the Ronaldo to Real Madrid saga will not be resolved until the elections are completed next month. At present, the discussions surround what is going to happen in terms of a head coach with it seemingly being a straight race between Rafa Benitez of Liverpool and Carlo Ancelotti of Milan. Ancelotti seems to be much happier with the situation at Milan than he was at the turn of the year and Real are most unlikely to want to commit the level of control over transfers to Benitez as he has requested through his business manager. So look for this to drag on for a couple more months before being settled.
(5) Deco will be leaving Chelsea with Inter his preferred destination but Porto his likely destination. It seems that with the African Cup of Nations being played in early 2010, Chelsea will listen to offers for Salomon Kalou and possibly John Obi. Obi would demand a significant fee but his style of play is well suited to clubs in Italy and Spain. Although Genoa have shown an interest in Andriy Shevchenko, Chelsea will either look to sell the player or possibly cancel or pay up his contract. Expect a couple of Turkish clubs to enquire after him. Brazilian Mineiro will be released and will make a return to Germany.
(6) Inter will look for an agreement over Jermaine Jenas – but well are aware that English players do not travel well and tend to struggle to learn languages.

Pjanic is favoured, as Napoli are seeking £20m for Hamsik and Kuzmanovic is too similar in style to Carrick. A real Arsenal rumour which shouldn't shock.
My wifes friend recently married a guy working at the Emirates Marketing Dept. who told me that Wenger has agreed to buy experience but yet again feels the need to prove that he can balance the books.He tells me the most likely happenings are:
(1) Wenger will sell Gallas, Traore and Sonderoos to buy a tall commanding Center Back – Metzelder Mentioned
(2) Wenger will sell Ade while he still has some value
(3) Third most obvious which nobody ever mentioned before – Wenger will buy an experienced Defensive Midfielder who can play Center Back – Cana & Barry Mentioned. The reason for this is that Martin Keown has convinced Wenger that such a player can swap position with Kolo from game to game depending on the opposition
(4) Wenger will pick up a cover player who can play across the back four – no names mentioned.

2. Cole would be sold for a bit more than 10 million considering a 5yr contract was signed this season and he has started to prove himself as a potential England striker. 3. Mark Noble is not worth 6.5 mil. . who's gonna pay that for an over–rated, inconsistent player who wouldn't want to leave west ham anyway. the only one you might have got right is Boa Morte, but will he be sold considering his recent improvement in form?

I think Man City and thier owners will realise it will be harder than they anticipated to bring a genuine superstar into a makeshift team. However the potential is certainly there, and should they again somehow make the Uefa Cup, better still. I think the owners will realise the need to really strenghten all over to build a solid squad, which the stars can see on the verge of winning things, and being in the CL with. I expect Hughes or any other manager knows this and will go down the chelsea route of stripping midtable prem teams of thier biggest assets. . Expect serious bids for G.Johnson, Haangeland, Lescott, Valencia, Arteta, Barry, Krancjar, Downing, Martins, Santa Cruz. The trick is to buy as many of these CL–standard guys as poss, then try and poach a few genuinely talented guys with experience, like they did with Bridge. Expect good footballers who have been unstable in thier clubs to be bid for. Alonso, Gallas, Tevez, maybe Parker. Finally foreign players won't be high on the agenda, but the superstars will still be bid for. Guys like Kaka, Diego, Villa, Silva etc. Though certain others also, young hungry guys will be scouted already. . Miguel Veloso, Alex Witzel, Stephen Defour. All great and hungry. 5 or 6 of these players mentioned to replace deadwood like Elano, Dunne, Evans, Benjani, maybe even the likes of Phillips. The 3 biggest players added to the squad will be Hamann, Johnson and Petrov returning. So it would be like 8–9 new faces that can play! Added to a Uefa cup standard squad. . Dangerous.

I am suprised that almost no one is talking about Daniel Pranjic and his transfer to Liverpool. . From what I heard the transfer is almost done.
Zola will be given £10mill for players plus any cash he can raise. Do no expect to see any major signings as Zola has great belief in the youngsters coming through. He is also keen to bring a couple of loans with purchase options, Balottelli will come in as a purchase along with Vela on loan. Tristan will get a one year deal but Di Michele will go back to Italy. Man City are very keen on Upson and may offer silly money in order to get their man, Zola does have a replacement in mind and has already made tentative enqiries.
