Arsenal summer transfer news:
Goalkeeper:
Almunia is not up to standard. He is likely to be replaced by either Hugo Lloris of Lyon or Manuel Neuer of Schalke. Fabianski and Mannone are both good back–up keepers however one of them will likely leave, probably Fabianski, leaving Mannone as 2nd choice.
Defence:
At least one new centre back will be required after the departures of Senderos and Silvestre and the possible departures of Campbell and Gallas. Wenger will offer Gallas a new 1 year contract but it is uncertain whether he will sign. Campbell will likely be offered the chance to stay for a further season. If these two players remain then only one new centre back will come in. Possible targets are Neven Subotic, Mamadou Sakho, Gary Cahill or Stefan Savic. We will of course have Djourou back come the start of next season. The full back positions are well covered at the moment however reports suggest that Wenger intends to strengthen the right back position with Cesar Azpilicueta and Adam Matthews rumoured targets. Armand Traore and Kerrea Gilbert will both possibly depart.
Midfield:
The only position that perhaps needs strengthened is defensive midfield. Targets include Moussa Sissoko and Jack Collison. Wenger's main target was Maxime Gonalons however he has just signed a new contract with Lyon. The main likely departure will be Fran Merida, however Denilson could also leave.
Forward:
It is possible that two strikers will be signed. Marouane Chamakh will almost certainly sign for free, as both he and Wenger have expressed an interest in him signing for Arsenal. If a second striker was to be brought in then it will likely be Loic Remy from Nice. This means that either Eduardo or Vela could leave on loan or permanently. A definite departure will be Jay Simpson who will be used as a make weight in Raheem Sterling's proposed move from QPR.

Felaiini is to leave Everton in the summer to join arsenal. He has fell out with Moyes over the move, and Moyes may leave Felaiini out of the side. Moyes wanted him to stay one more year, but Felaiini does not want to miss his big chance to join a top club ( his words).

Its no secret United have offered VDS a new 1 year deal, but i have heard he will be playing much fewer games next season paving way for a new keeper, i first thought Foster or Kuszczak will replace him but i have heard both of them want guaranteed first team footy next year and could both leave, Kuszczak is wanted by St Petersburg and Spurs want Ben Foster but cannot guarantee him a first team place so expect another prem team to come in for him, unless Harry makes a ruthless decision to drop Gomes which would be very unfair and unlikely, United want Neuer or Akinfeev which is no secret either, i expect Neuer will be the more likely of the two as he will be cheaper. Young Amos will be third choice keeper if they do indeed leave.
Ferguson really wants Rodwell & Benzema but both will be unlikely unless Vidic leaves. Anderson & Berbatov are 100% staying put.

The job offer Sven Goran Eriksson is mulling COULD be the Director of Football position at Southampton. Saints chairman has been keen for a director of football to be brought in to help with transfers and other things allowing Pardew more time with the players.
Sven would be guaranteed money here and a real plan to get to the Premier League unlike Notts County's which seems to have been fabricated.

My friend works at Landsdowne Road, and they are preparing a farewell party for Giovanni Trapattoni, who is headed to Lagos to coach the NIgerian team in the World Cup.
Look for Gary Breen to replace him, and for Hiddink to move now to LIverpool.

real news: Chamakh deal all but done. another striker will only come in if one of our existing strikers leave, mostly likely will be Eduardo on loan. 1 GK to be signed for sure, with Lloris and Neuer top of the list. in defence, Sakho looks set to come in, but another CB will also be signed as Senderos, Silvestre and Campbell all look set to leave. Gallas may also leave as Arsenal will only offer him a 1yr extension as he is over 30. expect the other CB to come to be Savic – young, cheap and full of potential, the arsenal way. subotic's price tag is being pushed up with the number of top teams showing an interest, so i don't expect we'll be in the running there. a DCM may, i repeat may, be signed, if Wenger feels he needs cover for Song. Diaby has shown himself to be excellent going forward, so count him out for a DCM role. Eastmond is not ready, and Denilson is rubbish in that position. Witsel and Cabaye are bein looked at, but you never know..

Silvestre, Campbell and Senderos are all going out in the summer and Gallas could b following after Wenger only offered him a 1 yr extension.
Sakho will replace Silvestre for around 8–10 million with the possiblity of Silvestre being included in the deal after PSG tried 4 him in January.
Subotic, Tasci and Stefan Savic on the shortlist 2 replace Senderos, but Subotic is being strongly monitored by Barca, Milan, Chelsea and Man City and has a 20 million price tag. Tasci is a strong contender at 10–15 million and unhappy at Sttutgart while BSK Borca defender Savic has left Arsenal undecided whether to pay 2.25 million or recall Harvard Nordveit from loan after his 10 day trial.
Wenger is tracking 4 of Spain's brightest prospects including 15 million rated Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez, Real Madrid's young wing starlet Pablo Sarabia, Barcelona defender Alberto Botia and Osusuna's Cesar Azpilicueta.
Right back seems 2 b another area of concern with Azpilicueta, Ajax's Van Der Wiel and Cardiff's Adam Matthews being tracked. They are rated at 10/8/5 million respectively.
Finally Chamakh deal is done, he will earn 50–60000 a week in a 4 and a half year deal. Wilshere to extend his loan and Wenger will try to convince Merida 2 stay.

Heard the other day that Mido wants to remain at West Ham as he has enjoyed his time there so far and that he has bonded well with the team and also with Zola. (if he did i presume he'd have higher wages!
It also looks like West Ham may be able to move to the Olympic Stadium! They have been told to make designs to put seating over the running track. One thing for certain though. They will not be called 'West Ham Olympic' as the olympic committee strongly disagree with this sort of thing and West Ham would have to pay millions to obtain the name. With Sullivans spending history at Birmingham. i don't think so!

John Utaka will be offloaded by Pompey, despite scoring today against Southampton in the FA Cup.
Utaka's wages are too high for the debt–ridden club, and he will be able to move for nothing and play for a new team (most likely on the continent).
