We have almost 100m to spend so no need to sell anyone to finance any deals.
carrick, berba possibilities of leaving in the laters case i hope so but ando defo not as he wil be injured to september and has already been given till jan at least to prove he can comeback and get back to a high standard again so no chance of him moving on at the mo anyway

rumours I've heard (living next door to some well–to–do types) are: lucas wants to stay and prove his worth to the team. torres to stay for at least one season to see what is happening. Everyone knows that Masch's missus is homesick and wans to leave. Gerrard to stay, he is Liverpool through and through, cut him.. he bleeds red (ha ).
Only 'unnaounced' signings I've heard is Adam Federici if the price is right (as an understudy keeper) and 'someone' in attack. No idea who this 'someone' is, but apparently we're signing him!!

I highly doubt he will ever leave Sevilla.. As he has Home Sickness which is very serious case in his life and Seville is the only place he feels safe.. Type it in a search engine and you will find more info on it {editor's note – he has had successful treatment for it, hence him being able to travel to South Africa for the World Cup.}

Rangers close to deal for chris eagles, next on walter smiths shopping list is harry kewell. Again in the last year of his contract he is available for a modest fee. He has indicated he is looking to move back to the u.k. has told friends he will be seeing them back home in oz next week, where rangers go for pre season tour

Evening all.
There was a rumour posted earlier that dic had arrived at formby hall golf club. I have just finished a meeting there and gone out to my car no word of a lie they have cordened off the back car park and there is a helicopter parked there along with 5 foreigners there. I swear this on my kid lives lets upper this backs up a rumour as being a piece of truth. I even took a photo as proof.

Guys do not be fooled into thinking the 130 million loan Barcelona have just secured is to pay the players, the players got paid their wages on time last month, the 130 million is for FOUR new players, they plan to spend big on players this summer just like Real Madrid done last year to beat the 2012 ruling, with their 130 million plus the 60 million from the sales of Yaya, Chyhrynskiy, Henry and soon to go Ibrahimovic, Barcelona are planning to raid Liverpool for Mascherano and Torres, they want Cesc, Mata and i hate to say it Vidic.

Now that Thomson is on his way out look for Rangers to bring in James McArthur as an immediate replacement. Liverpoo will announce the signing of Rafael Van der Vaart on Wednesday week. The deal had been in discussions over the past 2 weeks and last night the two sides came to an agreement of Javier Mascherano, in exchange of £18m plus the Dutchman. He will wear number 7.

Right, why do the preston fans seem to think we're after longergan? he's no better than what we have.
Rumours have been going around we're after loach from watford, or the cardiff keeper, marshall.
Also, Dobbie, DJ, Bannan and Coleman have all been lined up by Holloway as he hopes to keep them from their loans last season. Coleman is wanted for another season loan.
The israeli defender dekel keinan is due for a medical tomorrow so the signing of him should be announced soon.
Hooper is possible as a target, wages will be the easy thing, just the price tag. Although a part–ex may work, Eastham or Almond could go out on loan to gain vital experience.
Expect a few good signings by Ollie as he manipulates the window well, Koren is still a possibility as an incoming player.
Also Michael Bradley of USA seems more likely also now, his poor relationship with his manager could be a factor, a loan deal possible although we will look into a permanent deal.

He is Luis Fabiano's agent. I think his name is Jose Fuentes. He could well be Fabio and Rafeal's agent or Possebon or Anderson. I wouldn't get my hopes up for Fabiano.
Also €25 million is what Sevilla want, that's way over the odds for a player that is 29 and in the last year of his contract.

With Simeon Jackson pretty much going to Norwich any ideas if saints will sign an extra striker??. Any idea who? I've heard Charlie Austin and Brett Pittman but I'm not sure if that will happen simply because whoever we sign won't be guaranteed first team action. I think lee holmes for lines is realistic but again I'm not sure if pardrew will stick with what we have or push for some big names considering oxlade chamberline seems to be pushing for a first team place on the right and connolly looks in fine form but is lambert barnard and Connolly enough I don't think so personally. Inless Ryan doble is going to make an impact.

First off, if Hicks needs to get cash as soon as possible, how could this hamper the sale of LFC? If anything this would expedite it substantially.
Secondly, as I've stated before Hicks needs to sell LFC
a.s.a.p in order to pay off the debt required just to sell the Texas Rangers.
To summarize, LFC will be sold in the very near future, maybe more nearer then you could imagine.
I live in Texas, and have watched this saga drag on. He is also is in deep trouble with the Dallas Stars, as Mike Modano has refused to play another season with them, and if he does it will be for another team.
That would be like Carra saying I've played with you my whole career, love this club more the life it self, but if you think I am playing for you anymore your answer is this;

Rangers do have money to spend. £5m to buy new players and sort out contracts. Any money generated by selling players will go to Walter Smith to strengthen the squad. Walter himself has come out and said that he would like players in before the tour of Australia but Rangers have been burned before by rushing into signings. As long as the squad isn't ripped apart completely the freshening up should do the team good. Celtic will probably start the season as favourites but Rangers have the basis of a team who have played together for a few years now. You can't buy that experience and unity.

Sometimes you have to laugh at the situation, Liverpool have had one bad season the season before we were climbing up to 2nd with pretty much the same team. Gerrard, Torres and others have very long water tight contracts, selling either would make the club less attractive to new owners both on the pitch and commercially.
The new owners will be looking to maximise publicity in the middle east and far east, Torres is the face to front this, simple.
So with investment on the way, a new ground being funded and star players being tied down to long lucrative deals, Liverpool have no need to sell.
Players have only 1 reson to leave, no champions league but this is only likely to be one season.
You may not like it but Liverpool will be strong again very soon. Fianaly only the following players are likely to sign at this minute, other rumours are 50/50.

With the Jackson deal completed, Norwich will look to wrap up their summer dealings in the coming weeks.
Owain Tudor–Jones will be heading to a League One club (probably Yeovil) on a permanent deal, while Tom Adeyemi & Cody McDonald go on loan to Bradford City & Gillingham respectively.
Matt Gill will be staying for now, but may move later in the window. Jens Askou was left at home for the Germany tour as his wife is heavily pregnant, and will be staying at the club.
Expect an approach for Bournemouth's Brett Pittman, with a Rhoys Wiggins loan deal used to sweeten the deal. The Canaries are pursuing both Pittman & Adam Rooney as their final striking addition.
Danny Green is still being monitored, and may be signed later in the window once other areas of the squad have been sorted.

Preston looking for a least one goal–scoring striker.
Nobody can match Scthorpe's price demands – so a fee + player deal may work. Stephen Elliott is available, as would be Jon Parkin. Eddie Nolan is already on loan at Scthorpe, a permanent deal could be concluded as part of a deal for Hooper.
Hooper's current wages are very low, Preston would offer more without offering silly money the likes of which outgoing Wallace, Carter, Chaplow et al have been on

Rangers and Burnley are extremely close to agreeing a £1.3m deal for Chris Eagles, the player is also said to be keen to join the Scottish Champions, the deal could be completed by the end of the week.

Rangers do have money to spend. £5m to buy new players and sort out contracts. Any money generated by selling players will go to Walter Smith to strengthen the squad. Walter himself has come out and said that he would like players in before the tour of Australia but Rangers have been burned before by rushing into signings. Rangers will bring in new players and current players will leave.
As long as the squad isn't ripped apart completely the freshening up should do the team good. Celtic will probably start the season as favourites but Rangers have the basis of a team who have played together for a few years now. You can't buy that experience and unity.

Whilst I agree that Robinho will in all probability leave Manchester City, I stand by what I said last week in that I expect the player to move to AC Milan as a replacement for Ronaldinho. So I would be most surprised if he were to move to Manchester United.

Joe Cole will NOT be one of them. ridiculous wage demands and we have enough injury prone players at the club. who gives a toss if he's english, we're already stocked in terms of the homegrown quota. Gai Assulin, who admittedly has had his injury problems presents a much better investment. already better technically than cole, he has his best years in front of him and can be moulded to rival the likes of nasri, arshavin and rosicky at the club. wage demands would also be much more realistic.
secondly, a keeper will indeed be brought in, but he will be vastly experienced, and guaranteed to be over 30 years old. remember Szczesny and Mannone are the future! it will be out of Frey(prefered), Schwarzer and maybe Handanovic.
thirdly, arsene will splash out on a top class centreback to play alongside Vermaelen. names being bandied around include Mertesacker, Tasci, Zapata, Cahill(overpriced) and Diakhate.

Liverpool fans need to do their homework on Defour; he is not the player that looked good against you and Everton in the European competitions. He has had an injury ravaged season and is said – by most Belgian commentators – to have lost a bit of pace and aggression from his game.
I'd say the last thing Liverpool need is another overpriced CM in the Aquilani mould that will be clogging up the treatment table on top wages at a time when you're skint at need your best players on the field. Theres plenty of combative defensive midfielders that are cheaper and less injury prone options.
On Masch, Inter are leaning towards a player plus cash deal so the figures of £27–35m posted by most Liverpool fans on here are wide of the mark. You are looking at £8–10M cash realistically + a Inter squad player

Just spoke to a leading spanish journalist from ABC, who has told me, that despite leaving the Everton squad in Australia to attend his wedding back in Spain, Arteta has given the Everton Boss his word on signing a new deal at the club. Despite Torres being pictured wearing a Liverpool scarf in post–WC Final celebrations, I still believe he hasn't yet made up his mind about where his future lies. Comments from his Spanish team mates allude to this.
I think his decision will be based purely on two things: firstly, the sale of the club and what effects that will have (when it happens??); and secondly the player buying & selling plans for this transfer window. I think that if quality players are sold they have to be replaced with equal or better quality players or he'll be off.
Also unless 3–5 very talented players are bought (even financed by player sales) so that we have a realistic shot at the FA Cup, Europa Cup and a Top 4 finish this season and then a plan for further strengthening for a shot at the title next season, then he'll be off.
Don't kid yourselves, Chelsea are interested and this is a realistic option for Torres, as is Barcelona.
Optimistically, he may give Liverpool one more season if he sees on the horizon (i.e. this year) a takeover that will likely propel LFC back into the European and domestic elite. (Here's hoping!)

If Torres is badly injured (tests currently in progress) then Liverpool intend to start the season with a front three (left to right) of Jovanovic, Dalli Valle/Pacheco, Babel/Kuyt.
Might seem strange, but when you think about it it's the best utilisation of available assets. What struck me was the absence of Maxi. N'Gog and Nemeth are out of the picture as negotiations pending, they will not be at Liverpool next season. Loan and sold respectively.

I just want to clarify a few things regarding LFC. Do not expect too much movement in the transfer market this summer. Hodgson wants to have a good look over the squad before looking at any major changes and any transfers in will be based on players leaving.
Defour was being looked at as a direct replacement for Gerrard, Scharner for Lucas, Figueroa for Insua, Gyan for Torres. If none of these players leave then we won't see any coming in.
The only signing i can see happening is a direct replacement for Benayoun. I believe Joe Cole has been earmarked for this, though he's more than likely off to Spurs. Once this has been confirmed, then i expect us to move for Bryan Ruiz. I wouldn't really see us making any other significant signings during this transfer window. We under–achieved last season so major changes aren't required anyway.

The manager will look over the squad in the summer pre–season games & also get info from the staff on players we need & also the weak points in the team, so the manager is not going to waste a transfer window & they will infact bring players the team needs to make it stronger.

Roy Hodgson is focusing on established Premier League players and will look to sign the out of contract Joe Cole to succeed the now Chelsea player Yossi Benayoun, the out of contract Paul Scharner for the Inter bound Javier Mascherano, and Maynor Figueroa or the Liverpool Academy graduate Stephen Warnock for the out of contract Fabio Aurelio.
Dan Gosling will also be offered a contract, who incidently is also a free agent.
Connor Wickham, Danny Wilson & Adam Matthews are all being targeted to line up alongside Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling & Jack Robinson as Christian Purslow & Kenny Daglish impose their new policy, to give Liverpool's youth system a fresh impetus. They want to place the emphasis back on developing British talent, whether already on the books or bought in.
Also expect David N'Gog to West Brom, Daniel Pacheco to Celtic, Damien Plessis to Lazio & Daniel Ayala to Valladolid for season long loans for some much needed experience.

Liverpool have received a 1 million pound offer from Lecce for their young Hungarian Krisztian Nemeth. Liverpool have also 80% tied up the deal bringing in Victor Caseres who had an impressive world cup campaign with Paraguay. He may command a transfer fee in the region of 6 million. As for Defour, both RH and Defour himself are keen to make the deal a reality. However SAF may be interested, and may try and scupper a straightforward deal by also bidding for the Belgian playmaker. To the guy regarding ex–Barnsley Player Filipe Teixeira, On June 22 he joined Ukrainian side FC Metallurg on a two year deal after being granted a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion {editor's note – has he definitely signed that deal? Only he is still listed by the PFA as a free agent.}

I just want to clarify a few things regarding LFC. Do not expect too much movement in the transfer market this summer. Hodgson wants to have a good look over the squad before looking at any major changes and any transfers in will be based on players leaving.
Defour was being looked at as a direct replacement for Gerrard, Scharner for Lucas, Figueroa for Insua, Gyan for Torres. If none of these players leave then we won't see any coming in.
The only signing i can see happening is a direct replacement for Benayoun. I believe Joe Cole has been earmarked for this, though he's more than likely off to Spurs. Once this has been confirmed, then i expect us to move for Bryan Ruiz. I wouldn't really see us making any other significant signings during this transfer window. We under–achieved last season so major changes aren't required anyway.

Makes sense that he goes to Hearts, unfortunately for us (BCFC). But the main reason he is on his way is, allegedly, because of his part in Gary Johnson's departure. He, allegedly again, was one of two players who got the knives out and stuck 'em in GJ's back. Coppell mentioned that he knew who the backstabbers were when he arrived and he doesn't put up with that sort of thing. The other player will probably be on his way soon (or just sidelined if no one wants him), but he won't be missed as much as Hartley as he's a bit of a liability at the back these days. Class midfielder Hartley, our big loss and your gain. Hope he does well for you.

Seriously would love it if it was true but bullard has tried to screw us for more cash, if reports are true. And Campbell looks like he's doing the same. Would rather have bellamy than keane and that's more likely. And mcfadden is wary of the old firm goldfish bowl. More likely is bellamy loan, a good centre back although rogne and hooiveld will be class next season. Probably a midfielder Lawrence I'd think. And a striker hooper, stokes that kinda level. Also expect Lennon to use this trip to US to look at some players based there.

I have heard from a very reliable source that Artur Boruc is signing for Fiorentina but will be loaned back to Celtic for a season. This is why he was at Glasgow Airport to travel to America.
Fiorenina want to snap him up now on the cheap to stop rival bids coming in when he nears the end of his contract, they already have a quality kepper in Frey.
Boruc will remain at Celtic for his farewell season.

Observation – Agents hate West Brom because of the pennie pinching chairman. That is why we sign no one of substance unless their clubs need to get rid of them and then they cost us a shilling to buy.
Editor or Davieboy any West Brom rumors about players coming in as our team will be down before Christmas at this rate. is this just to justify why they have not already bid for mascherano or is this fact???
barcelona swaped eto and 30–40m for ibrahimovic (sure brucy was involved, because this was sale of the century for inter), this season they won the domestic double and champions league which would have generated at least 60m euros, rafa would not have signed for inter if he had no money for transfers, especially with other offers on the table.
So unless i'm very much mistaken they have money to spend..nearer the truth would be the fact rafa (whilst @ liverpool) valued mascherano @50m, so would prefare to wait and see if he hands in a transfer request, (which would drive down the valuation a little) especially as barca are struggling a little in the finance dept. other than that not too many teams have shown an interest in him, i personally like him as a player, but would have much prefared to see him leave last season than xabi alonso(no this is not hind sight , i said it at the time, ), there are many players who could do his job at a fraction of the cost.
so just wondering if anyone could tell me what inter have done with all thier money?? ed any ideas ace?

The price for Sinclair was supposedly nominal, which it would have to be as they don't have much to spend. I don't know why it is such a low price, could be a lack of interest in him or, as a friend of mine is adamant about, that Chelsea want a formal feeder club arrangement with Argyle.}

{I agree that there will be little happening at Chelsea this summer, but i do not agree Aguero is on the cards, Chelsea play 4–4–3 and you have Sturridge, Anelka, Drogba, Borini, Kakuka, Malouda and kalou which means Drogba will partner two from this list, there is no room for Aguero. Ashley Cole may leave and if he does he may be replaced with 'Fábio Coentrão' Carvalho may be swapped for Bruno Alves but i cannot see much else happening for Chelsea, Matic will replace Ballack, Benayoun has replaced J.Cole, Borini and Kakuka will fill in for Deco and young Kalas will replace injury prone Bosingwa next season.

Just seen a livepool fan's rumour tht they will sign fabio contrao, thts fair enough, but he gave a 6.5 mill price tag which is ridiculous. also i think defour will most likely be at united rather than liverpool.
ed, any news on fabio contrao transferring? last i heard bayern were keen but put off by benficas high price, and before tht i heard chelsea already had 1st option on him {editor's note – I can't see him moving to Chelsea, apart from Zhirkov they have two top prospects at left back. I don't think anyone is even close to matching Benfica's price yet, but towards the end of the transfer window that might change as teams get more desperate for a left back.}

Utd issues. First the squad have too many 30+ players to be a force next season, a 40 year old keeper, several 35+ year old midfield players and several 30+ defenders. Seems to suit other teams that this fact is being ignored. There is a big re–building job and Sir Alex knows it, he knows the squad is too old but pressure is on. Season Ticket sales are poor and corporate are down. However, that in itself adds pressure to buy. Sir Alex said one player but rumour is that it will be the one midfield player he needs. A striker will depend whether he can shift Berbatov with the salary he gets and finally the Vidic situation. Everyone looks at Sir Alex's comments on Oezil and Sneijder however he said he hadnt bid not that he wouldnt. He always says he is happy with his squad, it doesn't stop him buying. Comments need to be understood, Oezil said he would see out his contract (therefore going for nothing next season). Would the directors of Werder Bremen allow that, or would the comment add to pressure to sell him for a reasonable price. Was the supposed offer for Sneijder a message that for 29M one of the best players in the world can be bought, so don't ask a stupid price for a 21yr old in the last year of a contract. Sir Alex often does things people don't expect, a re–build is needed and he will not be retiring with a whimper. So expect a couple of interesting months.
