Arsenal news:
aside from Chamakh (deal done), the following are being considered:
GK: Robert Green being considered. he is now approaching 30, and is seen as old enough to help guide Mannone and Szczesny, who are the future golakeeping stars of AFC. Fabianski to depart.
LB: no change, though Traore may depart in search of 1st team football. Clichy and Gibbs to remain as LBs.
RB: Eboue will push further up the pitch more permanently, leaving Sagna as only RB. therefore, a CB who can also play right back is being considered, top choice Greg vdWiel.
CB: Silvestre, Senderos and Gallas to depart on frees. Wenger has failed to tempt Gallas to stay as club policy means only 1 yr extensions to over 30s. Campbell may be retained for another season, after which he will be a defence coach. that leaves only Vermaelen and Djourou. 2 CB to be signed, with the option of Nordtveit coming back from loan. preference is for 1 right footer and 1 left. choices for right are Subotic (will be priced out of market), Tasci and Savic (cheap, young, hungry). for left, obvious choice is Sakho of PSG. i reckon Wenger will sign him.
DCM: Song has done well, nobody else has. simple. Moussa Sissoko and Mahmadou Diarra being looked at. preference for Diarra as we are looking for cover for Song, not a replacement.
AM: Merida will depart for free, probz to Atletico. no major signings, all concentration on retaining services of Cesc. Wenger wants Hazard, but so does everybody else.
CF: Chamakh coming in for free. Vela may go out on loan. Eduardo's time looks to be up. another striker may be signed. Wenger wants some1 quality on the cheap. top target is Lucine Traore: 6'8, good on the ball and in the air, young, strong, regular scorer. Simpson will be brought back to emirates, meaning strikeforce of RVP, Bendtner, Chamakh, Traore and Simpson.
potential squad for next season:
GK: Green, Szczesny, Mannone
D: Sagna, vdWiel, Sakho, Vermaelen, Djourou, Campbell, Nordtveit, Clichy, Gibbs
DCM: Song, M Diarra, Eastmond
M: Fabregas, Ramsey, Diaby, Denilson, Wilshere, Galindo
AM: Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Walcott
CF: RVP, Bendtner, Chamakh, L Troare, Simpson

other targets: neuer, lloris, remy, dzeko, cabaye, richards.

I have got no interest in soccer but being American, I have heard a lot about Liverpool Football Club due to their American owners and I have an update on the negotiations taking place to purchase the club from George Gillett and Tom Hicks. I work within the Stock Exchange in New York and this is what is being talked about seriously. Despite reports of a failed bid from billionaire financers Robert Agostinelli and Steven Langman, Liverpool FC remain in serious negotiations regarding an investment in the club. The stumbling block is their insistance of having a 40% stake in the club therefore retrieving full control of the club as the current American owners don't want to relinquish that much control. If this goes ahead, Liverpool will be debt free and work will begin immediately on the new stadium. There will be serious investment in the summer and they have lined up 5 managers to replace the current manager who will leave to coach Real Madrid. Their top target is the manager of Barcelona, Pep Guardiola who they feel will sign more skilful and attacking players to play more attractive football and take the club to another level. Whoever the new manager is, they will build a new team around the spine of the team such as Reina, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres. If negotiations are successful, an announcement could be made towards the end of April with the current manager leaving after the last game of the season and the new manager appointed within 3 weeks of the season ending in order for transfer bids and negotiations to get underway.

Guus Hiddink will be the new Manchester City manager for 2010–2011 as rumours are rife around Eastlands that Roberto Mancini has lost the dressing room.

Hiddink's agent approached Liverpool Football Club with regards to taking the helm at Anfield, but was rebuffed by Christian Purslow.

Roberto Mancini's agent has been in talks with Juventus about taking over next season should Juventus decide not to opt for Rafael Benitez as their manager.

As a part of the deal that saw Raheem Sterling move to Melwood, Liverpool has agreed to provide QPR with a couple quality loan signings. Do not be suprised to see promising players like Blanco, Pacheco(maybe), a defender, and possibly Sterling himself wearing superhoops kits next season as QPR push for the promised promotion. The only genuine Forest news is mine, inside sources and direct access to the manager. I have no equal. Bad times at the club, insiders trying to dislodge the manager, I will banger on about it until I am heard. BD went straight to Ferguson after Preston game enquiring about Chaplow, awaiting an answer.Oldjom

14 Mar 2010 13:45:15
More news from my neighbourgh, James Perch on way to Newcastle and Billy Davies is after Butt. Forest WILL bring in a left back this week and a replacement for McKenna, maybe Butt or if not then Carsley or Chaplow. The manager is happy and staying, ignore the ego mongers.Good times ahead. Everton are set to sign 31 year old Jimmy Bullard from Hull in the summer for £3 million. David Moyes' side will also add Matthew Upson from West Ham for £4.5 million. Jack Rodwell is set to seal a sensational £16 million move to Manchester United with Ferguson also keeping tabs on Dan Gosling.

Some big news coming out of the emirates is that Arsenal are going to sign Igor Akinfeev in the summer for 6 million. The price is so low because the keeper is out of contract in december and Man Utd are trying to sign him on the free so he will have half a season to settle in at old trafford before Van Der Sar retires. But CSKA are willing to accept the Arsenal offer so they do get a bit of money for him instead of losing him on the free.
The Chamakh deal is done but it won't be announced until either Arsenal or Bordeaux are knocked out of the champions league.
The only CB I know of is that Savic will have another 10 day trial at the end of the season and he has a release clause in his contract for 2.75 million.I don't know if AW will sign another left footed CB.
English players Arsenal are linked with are SWP Parker and Micah Richards.

14 Mar 2010 07:58:17
Its a dead cert that Senderos and Silvestre are 2 leave in the summer with Gallas a doubt as well, It is also extremeley well known Arsenal's long standing interest in Mamadou Sakho the left–sided PSG centre–half is about to result in a 5 million bid that Wenger will attempt to incorporate Silvestre and Senderos. For those who haven't seen Sakho play, take it from me he is absolute quality and there is a good reason why AC Milan, Inter, Bayern and Liverpool are interested as well.

In addtion expect a right footed CB like Serdar Tasci, Cristian Zapata, Stefan Savic or Neven Subotic.

Should Gallas leave, Nordveit may come back from loan. The Chamakh deal is done a 4 and half year deal 2 b signed but Arsenal are waiting till the end of the season out of respect for Bordeaux.
