This is a rumour I heard today regarding Michael Essien. Michael Essien will be staying at Chelsea dispite interest from Manchester United, Essien was a Manchester United fan when he was younger (back in Ghana) and wouldn't mind playing for them some day but Chelsea do not want to sell. Also he is very good friends with Didier Drogba and does not plan on leaving unless Drogba leaves, which is very unlikey.

Agreement is ever closer for Gillett to sell his share of LFC to Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdullah via F6. It should happen by the end of the year. A friend of mine works for Merrill Lynch and understands that the Prince will only invest if Hicks commits to one of two things; either matching the investment required to build a new stadium without increasing the clubs' debt or selling his share outright within 12 months. F6 are an investment company and will not come with an open cheque book but they will invest the necessary money to build the stadium and the squad.

I just collected Billy Davies from East Mids airport taking into Notts Forest's academy. He was away watching Wales. He confirmed to me he had his eye on Gareth Bale and one other player.
He said Bale put in "marvelous performance" and was "hopeful" on getting him at Forest.
We also had a good chat about Forest's promotion prospects which he trotted out the usual "we're positive" but "grounded" routine. He did seem excited, however, when he talked about the "vibrant approach" his players have when they "cross the line" saying this "fills me with optimism."

More rubbish from LFC supporters being posted – 'Heskey will join in January to increase his England chances'. How will it increase his chances? He won't start, Torres plays on his own up top with two in support so unless Rafa (although scouse rumours put him at Real Madrid by January) decides to change his game plan and go 4–4–2 then this isn't going to happen. Heskey will move to a club in the Premiership which can guarantee him 1st team football, this will be a mid–lower table team such as Wigan, Stoke etc. If he can't get in the Villa starting XI, he's certainly not going to gamble on moving to LFC – where he hardly impressed first time round!
As a second point – Puyol and Man City. Puyol won't move to Man City as he wants Champions league football. OK – Puyol should he move in January wouldn't be eligible for Champions League having played for Barca in the group stages. As for signing on a free in the summer, unless he has mystic powers how is he going to know if Liverpool, Arsenal or Man City will be in it? One will miss out that is for sure. I expect Arsenal to get him, their playing style is similar to what he is used to and there's uncertainty about Gallas re–signing. Van der Vaart coming in for Rosicky is also another strong possibility.
