Arsenal:
looks like Eduardo will go at the end of the season, albeit on loan. With Chamakh sure to come in, Wenger would have Chamakh, Eduardo, Vela, Bendtner, RVP, Walcott, Arshavin and Nasri amongst his attacking assets. Something's got to give, and considering Ed is a confidence player who needs to be playing regularly to be of any use, he looks set to be the one to take the fall.
Only a handful of strikers are being considered by Wenger should he want to invest in one more. These are: Lacine Traore, Edin Dzeko, Andre–Pierre Gignac and Loic Remy. Its unlikely that Remy would be signed, and Dzeko and Gignac may prove to be too expensive. So we're looking at Traore. At 6'8 with 2 good feet, pace and power, he would improve the squad, and would come for cheap. Bid for Raheem Sterling with Simpson as part of the deal looks on the cards too.
In goal, names being offered are Hart, Green, Neuer, Lloris, Mandanda and Akinfeev. Hart has said he wants his Birmingham move to be made permanent, so count him out. We would only consider Green if WH got relegated, and I believe they will stay up. Akinfeev will be too expensive. Wenger does not rate Mandanda highly enough. So its between Lloris and Neuer. Almunia will leave.
In defence: Wenger desperately wants to retain the services of Gallas, but is unlikely to succeed as he would only be offered year long rolling deals. Additionally, Senderos and Silvestre will leave for sure, with Campbell likely to be retained if he accepts a fringe role. Savic looks set to come in for £2–3m, but will be given a season in the reserves/cup games. A more experienced CB will also be signed to partner Vermaelen. Names being linked are: Sakho, Subotic, Zapata. Gary Cahill will not be signed.
DCM: Song is fine, Denilson is not. simple. Denilson cannot play DCM, the guy can't tackle. Furthermore, Eastmond, though talented, is not ready. Expect Wenger to revive interest in Blaise Matuidi. Wenger will be desperate to retain Fabregas, but if he does sell, it will be for £60m, perhaps £30+Yaya Toure and Busquets if he can manage it.

16 Feb 2010 17:43:31
Wenger will be trying his level best to keep Fabregas. Wenger, Fabregas and AFC have all stated that Cesc is committed to Arsenal. However Arsene will have to improve the squad to avoid the same scenario next season, particularly if Cesc has a good world cup.
so a GK, 2xCB and a CF will be brought in for sure, with the possibility of a back up DCM also coming in. Chamakh is obviously the CF, but another may be signed in addition, eg Lacine Traore.
outgoing will be Almunia, Senderos, Silvestre, Campbell, Merida, Eduardo on loan and maybe Gallas.
ideally:
in: Lloris(8m), Sakho(10m), Savic(2m), Chamakh(free), Traore(3m), Matuidi(8m), Sterling (2m+Simpson)
out: Campbell, Silvestre, Merida, Senderos, Gilbert (all free), Almunia (5m), Eduardo (10m), Vela (loan), Randall (1m),
Galindo may get a work permit next summer.

I've heard a rumour that Rafa will bring Robbie Fowler back to the club as striker coach in the summer. Robbie has been unsettled in Oz since being left out of the Fury team in January.
Rafa feels that Robbie can aid Nemeth, Eccleston and Pacheo into the first team and save transfer millions.

Forest fans..Billy Davies is playing a dangerous game with Forests future in an attempt to break the Transfer Panel and get control. He is currently refusing suggestions and deals, such as Bouma from Villa. His stance is that he will not accept 2nd or 3rd option. This is why he has gone into the press today saying a left back will not be signed. He figures he can gamble a few points and still keep Forest in play off places.Like I say a dangerous game and maybe one step to far for Nigel Doughty who is thought to favour a bold move if Davies quits. Mark Hughes and Steve Coppell have been mentioned. Mark my words. Dan

SOUTHEND UNITED

Alan McCormack will join Rochdale on loan for the remainder of the season after Saturday's game at the MK Dons. The likelihood is that this deal will become permanent at the end of the season with a fee in the region of £50,000 agreed between the two clubs.

Colchester United will pursue prompt payments on the loans of Scott Vernon and Pat Baldwin. If these are not received the two players will be recalled from their loans. As Southend have previous in this respect it is a reasonable likelihood that the Southend squad will be reduced by two at the end of March.

With the ongoing financial troubles Southend will sell the following players at the end of the season:

Steve Mildenhall and Simon Francis (MK Dons £150,000 joint deal)
Frank Moussa (Derby County) £200,000
Francis Laurent (Ipswich) £50,000
Johnny Herd (Cambridge United) Free Transfer
Jean–Francois Christophe (Stade Lavallois) Free Transfer

There is also word that Adam Barrett is wanted by Swindon Town, but it is unlikely that this deal will be struck as the player will wish to remain at Southend to see out his contract. The chances are that he will also be payer–manager at some point next season.

The outgoing players will be replaced by loans and the three members of the youth team that will be given 1 year development contracts (Bentley, Crawford and Reynolds). Add to this a number of local non–league trialists will be invited to pre–season training with a view to taking 2 or 3 on (names mentioned are Junior Dadson of Aveley, Robert Edmans of Chelmsford City, Jimmy Webb and Adam Holmes of Great Wakering Rovers).

The saving on the wage bill plus the small transfer fees should see Southend stave off administration until at least the New Year 2011. Beyond that, who knows?

There are likley to be no diggers at the new site throughout the rest of this year and well into 2011 (if at all), but the supermarket chain that has acquired Roots Hall is getting twitchy to be on site by July 2011 at the very latest. If not, they will demand action and the club is seeking out a ground–share option to allow the superarket to be built, with the favoured options being Gillingham, Barnet and Luton Town (!)

According to the reliable Cadena SER radio station in Spain, Cesc has decided to go home this summer. I usually ignore the tripe coming from Spain (particularly the Barcelona–based media), but Cadena is a source of reputable quality.

Shame that we are going to lose him in his prime but Wenger has to ensure we receive maximum value now. Cesc is under a long–term contract and, considering Real Madrid received £80M for Ronaldo it would be fair to ask £60M for Cesc.

He is the best midfielder in the World.

Can we have some rumours about other teams instead of the wish lists of people grabbing names of the hat for the same old big teams.
plymouth still trying to get david gray in on loan but he is not to keen because of there league pos and he don't won't a relegation on his cv , i do believe that we could do with him

My friend lives in Valencia and works at the Mestalla, the following rumours are doing the rounds there.

David Villa – will NOT be joining Man United, sadly for us reds. Villa definitely wants out, but both Barca and Madrid are chomping at the bit ready to bid upwards of £30million for the striker. Valencia would prefer not to sell to a rival, but MU cannot afford a bidding war. Villa will sign for Barcelona in a £35–45million deal.

David Silva – WILL sign for Man United. Again, the player wants out, the club are resigned to this, but are determined not to sell both star assets to their rivals in La Liga. A bid of £25million possibly with a player thrown in on loan, should be enough to see Silva don a United shirt come the summer.

Vidic WILL be leaving, he has lost the passion for the club and wants a fresh challenge. We will sell him for £22million to Real Madrid. In exchange we get first option to bid for Benzema, Madrid apparently willing to accept £24million for him.

Chelsea in the 2010 Summer Window

GK: Cech appears over his earlier difficulties however if he slips again expect a move for Neuer, Akinfeev (there was some talk not long ago about Akinfeev regardless of Cech's performance)

DEF: Most likely out, Ferreira, Belletti and Alex. Will be sad to see Alex go, he's a real asset, BM are sniffing around though and he will probably form part of a move for Ribery or Schweinsteiger. Likely arrivals appear to be Newcastle Utd's Steve Taylor and Neven Subotic, outside chances are Dani Alves and Juan Manuel Vargas, both would be quality signings though.

MID: Difficult, who gets let go of, and who should we chase. I'll break it down;

OUT: Deco
Malouda
Joe Cole (if he keeps whining about money)

IN: Franck Ribery: expensive only maybe worth it, competition from RM, Barca and his wife!
Bastian Schweinsteiger: ideally would replace Ballack but could also fairly well replace Deco
David Silva my personal favorite, would do better replacing Deco
Joao Moutinho: outsider but cheaper than Franck or David and undoubtedly skilled
Raul Meireles: would be on the 2nd tier of the midfield at Chelsea but if he can accept that useful with cool tats
Rafael van der Vaart: has never really shown his best at RM, would consequently be cheap, but the same problem could appear on London as in madrid
Angel di Maria: big competition for this guys signature and defunct if we get Franck, but no Ribery equals a must signing
Alan Dzagoev: not in the summer but in 2011 or 2012 he is a must signing, maybe the next Frank Lampard
Marek Hamsik: the current next Lampard, imagine Lampard and RVDV being replaced by Dzagoev and Hamsik (not mentioning Mellis)
Miralem Pjanic: better option than Dzagoev or Hamsik at present, younger cheaper and still with a great potential
Mata: could play anywhere in the front half of the park woudl work great with David Silva too
Milos Krasic: another Mata, but taller
Thiago Alcantara: a starlet from the Barcelona youth system, if Cesc returns he'll probably be looking to move, we should make sure its to Stamford Bridge
Gai Assulin: a starlet from the Barcelona youth system, if Cesc returns he'll probably be looking to move, we should make sure its to Stamford Bridge
Jonathan Matías Urretaviscaya Luz 'Urreta': the next big thing out of Uruguay, currently at Benfice (well on loan to Penarol) would be a great signing for the future
Alex Teixeira: Shaktar Donetsk pulled off one of the big signings of the winter getting the Brazilian who had interested Chelsea and the Manchester's if he does alright in the Ukraine he should be brought to the Bridge asap.
Paulo Henrique Ganso: didn't think Citeh were big enough for him, we can give this Santos Attacking mid the size of club he desires.

Best case: Ribery, Silva, Mata and Hamsik brought in. Urreta, Pjanic, Texeira, Alcantara and Dzagoev signed and loaned back to there respective clubs.

Likely: Schweinsteiger, RVDV, di Maria in and Joe Cole stays. Alcantara and Urreta secured on loan.

FWD: Pato or Aguero, we need a young forward who is a proven scorer, Pato would be preferable due to the Ancelotti connection, but we've been consistently linked to Aguero…either would be fine and wouldn't be needed until Anelka goes, that could be this summer, I'd personally prefer next one though, so Pato/Aguero could have 12 months more at their respective clubs.

The all important 2nd/3rd Striker which we really lack at present, sell Kalou, though not to any EPL clubs, Barca were apparently interested in him not long ago, that would be fine. Villa would be great, imagine him up front with Drogba, El Nino would be better still given his age and PL experience but it really requires LFC not to qualify for the Champions League if we want him, we also have to fend off Citeh bids. Pazzini is also a possibilty but he seems more interested in Juve than Chelsea. Bafetimbi Gomis is also known as little Drogba, enough said. Nilmar is now starting for Brazil but is really only the 3rd striker at Villareal, he'd be easy to tempt away.

The youth striker. We already have Sturridge, Borini, Kakuta, di Santo and Miroslav Stoch for the future up front, add Pato or Aguero and the only thing missing is a Drogbalike, like Romelu Lukaku, he is killing in the Belgian league, he's only 16 he's 6ft 3 and his favorite team is Chelsea, he must come to the Bridge!

Rafa Benitez is monitoring defenders from across Europe to improve his backline. His preparing for Martin Skrtel to move to Italy in the summer so he wants to replace him with either Simon Kjaer for 12m or Diego Godin for 8m. Godin will most likely sign as Kjaer has been touted by some of the best sides in Europe and Godin has a lower profile. Rafa also is looking for a starting left back as Aurelio is on his way out and Insua needs to improve. Taye Taiwo is the player Rafa wants and his transfer will most likely cost 14m. Milan Jovanovic of Standard Liege is arriving in a free transfer to bulk up Liverpool's striker force which leaves around 20m for Rafa to make a big signing. He wants a new left winger with Juan Mata at the top of the list. He is unhappy at Valencia, even though he signed a new contract last year. He is one of the lowest paid players at the Mestalla and wants out.

News from Portsmouth is that any parachute money will go straight towards paying off their massive £60m debt.

Portsmouth will then be left with £10m–£15m debt, which will have to be paid off by any new owner before July 1st 2010. The Football League (let's face it, Pompey will not stay up and I say that as a fan of 20 years!) will not allow Pompey into the Championship with their debt issues, so these will have to be rectified asap.

Wholesale changes at the club, and it will be a very different Pompey side for next season – a mixture of youth and cheap signings from the lower leagues and abroad.

Grant will have gone and I have heard that Lawrie Sanchez has been ear–marked as a replacement (not a bad move IMHO if true, but lets sort the important things first and actually survive the showdown with HMRC!)

Pompey Forever – STORRIE OUT!!

Arsene Wenger realizes that Arsenal must sign one player who is a bona fide future great along with all of the youth that he hopes will develop. That player is going to be Eden Hazard, and he will do whatever it takes, even go as high as 18 million to purchase the player. Otherwise Arsenal's acquistions with be youth and frees.

Chamakh and Hazard to be the big ones.

ARSENAL RUMOURS

Trying to use some logic here, apparently the 4+7 rule will be in effect for the 2010–2011 season, unless the EU steps in. Therefore I'm guessing that AW will want to strengthen with English players.

As West Ham probably play the most similar style of football to AFC and have a few English players on their books, don't rule out a move by AW on their ranks. Also, Gary Cahill.

To the fella who reckons messi is going to man shity. why would he even consider going 2 an average team with an average manager, unitted to sign silva and villa in the summer
