Dundee United could bring back striker Francisco Sandaza as Jon Daly looks to leave this summer. Also, if Dundee get relegated, United will bring in John Baird and possibly Nicky Riley. With Hearts and all their financial problems, Dundee united could sign or loan in a couple of the Jambos with names like, Andrew Driver, Andreas Novikovas and Mehdi Taouil on Tangerines radar!

Andrew Driver does not play for Hearts

17 Apr 2013 22:29:18
Johnny Ertl to sign a new contract at Portsmouth next season as are most of the other players, source- Portsmouth supporters trust.

Sounds about right, Ertl is div 4 standard.

17 Apr 2013 21:44:23
Bury striker Andy Bishop has agreed to sign for Mansfield Town

17 Apr 2013 21:36:44
personally, i'm over the moon with cardiff's promotion! And I really hope we are backed with a lot of funds! These are some targets that i'd be interested in if I was malky-
Raheem sterling (loan)
Aaron Ramsey
Sebastian Coates
Darren Bent
Nathan Redmond
Maybe unrealistic but Opinions? Thanks:)

Do you really feel that you should be backed by large funds? Considering the club are in 90Million pound debt. This will increase due to bonuses payed to players. Yes they will get huge amounts of money from the premier league grants. But as we've seen from Cardiff's previous transfer records, they will spend excessively. Which is a risk due to they're debts.

18 Apr 2013 10:08:42
i think the following would be good and are a real possibility

Darren Bent
Chris Samba
Aaron Ramsey
Joe Ledley
Keiron Westwood
Nick Powell (Loan)
Nathan Redmond
Paddy Madden
Albert Adomah

They'll struggle, same as QPR and Reading.

They won't Sign Samba

Gillingham manager Martin Allen has already started thinking about the summer transfers after having a bid accepted for Cheltenham midfielder Sam Deering. Deering is keen on a move to the Gills after they gained promotion to League 1.
Another player interesting Allen is Walsall defender Paul Downing. Downing is out of contract at the play off chasers but may have to be tempted with big wages as the Midland side are an established third tier side.
Another defender who Allen wants is Wigan youngster Jordan Mustoe. Mustoe is currently on loan at Carlisle United but is expected to be released in the summer.

Downing signed a new 18 month contract in February so that's a totally made up story

17 Apr 2013 22:47:43
Downing isn't out of contract. He signed an 18 month deal this January.

Hilarious you will do nothing next season. Downing signed 18 month contract plus why would he go to gillingham if he hadnt? What can you offer that walsall cant

The price is closer to £100,000 plus add ons and a sell on percentage

17 Apr 2013 20:27:34
Vincent pajot and Alan judge to middlesbrough in the summer

17 Apr 2013 20:19:11
bristol city looking to sign walsall duo paul downing and jamie paterson!

Both are under contract for next season. City will be in admin next month anyway so If they go anywhere it will be to a championship club.

Ah ah you no nothing about bristol city

If your a walsall fan, explain how you iknow nwe will be in administration? hardly an expert are you, jon lansdown has clearly stated we will have 1 of biggest budgets in league 1, coupled with an excellent manager, things are looking bright at bcfc. less can be said for poorsall

For info Money raised by the sale of players will be given to sod as transfer kitty. Large part of this seasons losses will be under written by board members through a share issue. Around £4.7m reduction in wage structure costs already in place through finished contracts and relegation clauses. Would estimate around £3m available for players but wage structure will be tightened up with more result based bonuses rather than large basic pay. {Ed034's Note - I would expect most of your signings to be on a free. gillett at forest is a know target. its whether he wants to drop down a division

Ed. not looking to disagree with you but although SoD is known to be a big fan of Gillett he is outside the stated criteria for younger players coming into the clubs playing staff {Ed034's Note - no problem with disagreeing mate, but this is something I have heard from a very good source at forest

U GOT NO MONEY HQW MENY MORE TIMES

Couldn't see them moving to another League One team. Especially not Bristol Rovers' little brother. Championship team more realistic.

19 Apr 2013 00:48:46
For Info MONEY:
£41,000,000 DEBT.
Additional losses in 2013 £ TBA.
Wages £17,000,000!! and relegated.
LOSS of Turnover (TV & Gate money) MINUS £5,000,000 for 2013-2014.
So your solution is spend another £3,000,000. You must work in the City.

That's why Administration is the next step. Good news is the Bristol Derby will be on again 2014-2015 in league two.

City will not be spending much on transfers, I would expect us to be picking up the guys that Championship teams are letting go.

1. Lansdown is still backing us so we aren't going into administration
2. Why would we want people from a club like Walsall who have accomplished a total of nothing ever? (besides beating the Gas 6-0 thanks for that again)
3. How quickly people forget, what happened last time we got promoted from League One?

Well I do have a degree in business studies but my information comes from someone who gets yearly accouts ready for audit.
Wages are around £11.5m not the £17 you quoted ( actually £18.2m was the high point ). Take away the £4.7m quoted as contact savings and you have a not great but managable £6.6m. As i'm sure you know players with 2/3 year contacts on relegation salaries are not included in the FFp div 1 allowances giving some room for new signings. so it is quite possible £3m can be spent without increase in debt or breech of ffp rules. Plus share issue to board members has already been put in the public domain. So sorry no administration and next year estimated £1. 5-2.2m income from rugby starts.

Cardiff City Targets (with £25m to spend)
-Adam Le Fondre
-Darren Bent
-Charles N'Zogbia
-Johnny Russell
-Gary Mackay-Steven
-Charlie Mulgrew
-Micah Richards
-Jermain Defoe
-Benoit Assou-Ekotto
-James McCarthy

Most on this list seem pretty realistic apart from Defoe and Richards

17 Apr 2013 22:09:16
Yeah but Richards has lost his place in the Man. City team and Defoe hasn't really done a lot for Tottenham this season?!

18 Apr 2013 08:54:43
Mulgrew & McCarthy aren't realistic either

Think Bent, even though he is sitting on the Villa bench would set you back a chunk of the 25 mill. Richards lost his place in the City team to a series of niggling injuries, probably not a wise investment. Defoe is ageing and injury prone, yet would still cost a hefty chunk. Spurs have made no secret of their desire to find a new left back but would expect Assou- Ekotto could probably go to a club in Europe. Mulgrew looks too slow for the premiership [if i'm thinking of the same guy]

Richards, Bent and Defoe would set Cardiff back around £40mil altogether. IF Richards moves on I could see him fitting in well at Liverpool or Spurs.
Bent wouldn't be too unrealistic a signing but would cost a lot in fee and in wages.
Assou-Ekotto will go to Europe, maybe to Russia for a big pay-cheque.
Le Fondre and McCarthy could be a good shout and wouldn't cost the earth, probs about 12mil for the pair.
I think Cardiff probably have better options then the rest of the names there.
Well done Cardiff btw. See you at the KC in May! UTT

18 apr 2013 12:50:02
adam le fondre, johnny russell, gary mackay-steven, charlie mulgrew, james mccarthy maybe, but forget the rest, but these targets won't keep you up. tom huddlestone on loan maybe?

17 Apr 2013 16:26:57
hull have a brilliant team to go up with with so many youngsters of obvious pedigree at least 2 of whom I expect to step up and this time next year be moving onto bigger and better things only hole in squd is up 5top which is wonderful as citycan afford to buy perhaps 2 strikers if blackburn go down rhodes will sign for someone else city have as good a chance as any because he's not off to a top prem club maybe stephne fletcher, agbonlahor, nas the other if their respective teams go down fletcher would be a worry as all his teams get relegated despite his obvious quality

Why spend when all you will do is come back down again

Genuine question: On what grounds do you think we will come straight back down?

I think it'll be a tough season but we should stay up. Bruce seems to have hit the nail on the head with this squad of players in that he feels we can play fast attacking football and still keep the ball for some posession play too.

If he were to sign 2 strikers, a Keeper (maybe Stockdale, but who knows who else could be available) and some reliable back up in defence to replace any outgoing ginger ninjas then I think we should be able to last the course of the season.

by T'burg

Victor anichbe

Only one smll problem your not pormoted yet! counting chickens before hatched springs to mind

As a club hull are just not big enough to cut it in the prem and will come straight back down, same as last time

Same as last time. we did not come straight back down, and we will stay up longer, a lot longer, this time

True, we're not there yet but I think it's fair to say we'd have to really mess up now to not go up. We only need 4 points from our next 3 games to secure promotion, less if Watford don't get a result against Blackburn.

Our current squad is a a lot better then the one that came down in 2010. We have more depth and a better manager in Bruce than we ever had in Brown.

2 or 3 well thought out aquisitions should see us right. Even if we do come straight back down, we'll still be better fixed than before because of the type of contracts the players are on. Our transfer policy seems to have totally changed too. No more big money deals for players passed their best.

As for the size and structure of the club, we've had a complete overhaul of the backroom and boardroom since we were last up in the Prem. We'll be able to get better players in than before on better deals for the club.

Anyway, time will tell. I might be totally wrong and eternally optimistic but regardless, UTT!

Ravel Morrison linked to sign Permanent deal for Birmingham from West Ham. Also, Curtis Davies from Birmingham linked with a move Brighton and Hove Albion.

Davies is a good defender poyet was thinking of getting him

Nasty piece of work is Morrison.

17 Apr 2013 14:47:01
Southend United want to bring Tamika Mkandawire to the club on a permanent deal and Phil Brown wants to toughen up the back four by getting Sam Sodje on a free in the summer

17 Apr 2013 14:38:46
Leeds Utd are looking at two out of contract players with Swindon, A midfielder Simon Ferry and a centre back Aiden Flint.

Out of contract players are at Arsenal - players that McDermott faced at Reading in Carling Cup

No thank you

18 Apr 2013 19:37:30
Aden Flint is no way ggod enough for the championship L1 is his level. His ball distribution is absolutely shocking his only assett is his height 6'7'' i'm a Swindon fan and see him every week. Ferry is a good player but disappears against physical players. He is a very good creative player and not sure he can make the step up if true.

17 Apr 2013 14:16:01
West Brom to sign Bobby Zamora and Matias Suarez in their new look strike force next season.

The only club Zamora would won't to go to is Brighton. Brighton fan

17 Apr 2013 15:59:07
Zamora is finished at Premier League level

I may aswell play up front if we are after zamora

17 Apr 2013 14:15:18
West Brom interested in Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez.

17 Apr 2013 13:53:58
Southamton FC plan double summer swoop on Cagliari with Davide Astori and clubmate Nainggolan trying to be brought to the south coast.

17 Apr 2013 11:54:47
Goalkeeper Scott Flinders has been linked with a return to his old loan club Yeovil now that his current club, Hartlepool, have been relegated.

Seems possible if we don't go up because we will have major intrest in Marek Stech.

17 Apr 2013 13:39:38
Bristol Citys Albert Adomah looks set to leave in the summer in hope to remain in the championship, with Ipswich Town seemingly his preferred destination.

Will join middlesbrough or palace

Wouldn't be surprised to see him arrive at Palace as a replacement for Zaha. No I'm not a Palace supporter.

17 Apr 2013 17:00:57
I have heard that Middlesbrough, Derby, and Bristol City have shown interest in Chris Humphrey, from SPL outfit Motherwell. Of course this depends on the destination of AA. But Humphrey has a proven record in the lower leagues in England. I'm sure the Jamaican international would embrace a move south.

17 Apr 2013 17:09:36
Why Ipswich so he can get relegated next season as well.

Palace probs middlesbourgh.
Or could go to one of the relegated sides like reading

17 Apr 2013 13:21:17
Sheff Wed considering a bid for Bristol City striker Sam Baldock if they stay up now City have been relegated. Crystal Palace have renewed their interest in Adomah and Neil Kilkenny is off to Doncaster depending on if they go up. They are the only 3 I know.

Our slump down the legue all started with our 3 0 loss to brighton if we don't get promoted it will be down to them bet there loving it so thanks a lot brighton

Helped get us relegated by injuring billy sharp. damn Brighton haha

17 Apr 2013 09:00:53
A local investment group keen to buy shrewsbury with a big financial backing for transfers

17 Apr 2013 08:13:00
Britt Assombalonga will be given a run in the first team by Watford next year if they don't get promoted instead of being sent out on loan. By the way does anyone else think he has the best surname ever?

Could see that happening as Vydra will probably go back to Udinese as it looks increasingly unlikely that we will go up at the moment

Venegoor of Hesselink was a good surname, you needed a long sleeved shirt to get it all on.

Wouldnt be surprised to see vydra stay actually, he has been off form lately, abdi is the main target in my eyes.

bs18

17 Apr 2013 19:31:15
Abdi has stated he wants to stay which will be a great perminant signing

If it was a choice between the two, I'd go for Abdi.

Assambolognonanananaonga.

Britt.

Vydra would only go back to Udinese if he personally wanted to

Udinese may cash in on him if he doesn't stay at Watford and they are offered good money

Vydra has years left on his contract, I'm sure he will just transfer over to Watford innless we need a bit of cash which I doubt is the case

17 Apr 2013 07:59:00
according to those who were there for the lastest Q&A session.

We are after 6 players in the close season. 2 Defenders, 2 Midfielders and 2 strikers. Clough wants a more expierenced midfielder, and for the side to be more physical. Forsyth is wanted by the club and Martin has to the end of the season to prove himself.

17 Apr 2013 07:43:37
David Villa Benzima and wilshere to join the mighty spurs COYS {Ed025's Note - not messi then?..

17 Apr 2013 08:10:21
LOL

17 Apr 2013 07:36:41
Cardiff City will be looking to sign former Swansea striker Danny Graham this summer. It is unlikely that Graham will feature in Di Canio's Sunderland side next year so Mackay will make a move for the striker who was prolific under him with Watford.

How do you know he won't feature?

As before Wickham's injury, Graham had been dropped. Also he is a Martin O'Neill signing and you would assume Di Canio will want his own players

Wont go to cardiff

I really can't see this happening. A more realistic target for a similar transfer fee would be Charlie Austin. {Ed003's Note - That's a good shout}

Cant wait till we play up the swans

It's not too unlikely. Did wonders for Malky when he was Watford manager and he's shown he can score goals in the Premiership, so it wouldn't be a bad signing by any means.

Done well for us

£5 million, no wonder the Swans snapped their hands off when Sunderland came knocking.

Cant sniff at 5mill

It's 50/50 that he would feature in his plans
They will have to cough up more than 5m if they want him because we've just got him

Highly unlikely. His main reason for forcing through the moving in Jan was moving back to the north east.

No way he'll be giving up on that to come back to Wales so soon.

17 Apr 2013 01:33:11
Nigel Adkins is set to sign

Charlie Austin £5.5million Burnley
Graham Dorrans £3million West Brom
Jonathan Parr £2.5million Crystal Palace
Richie De Laet £2.5 million Leicester City

Max Clayton and Luke Murphy of Crewe are also being monitored. As is Matt Phillips of Blackpool

for next season in the championship for Reading FC

Austin to the prem

17 Apr 2013 08:11:00
Clayton will join Arsenal COYG!

17 Apr 2013 12:17:05
de laet will be staying at lcfc

17 Apr 2013 13:04:01
Stupid rumour couldn't get good players in the prem certainly won't get in championship as it is a small club

There is no way Reading will spend £13.5 million in the summer.

17 Apr 2013 15:07:29
Austin going to West Brom

Anton said Adkins will have 30mil to work with regardless, so yes, these are all possible

Phillips is not possible to start with.

Seems another Jordan Rhodes saga is up and running!

There was no way we'd spend 13.5m under mcdermott but under Adkins he definitely would as at saints he spent 12m on Ramirez.

No one in there right minds would spend £13.5 million to prepare for the Championship!

Even by footy manager standards this is stupid

Dont think matt phillips will join reading now after they are heading down he will probably get another club from prem make a bid for him.

21 Apr 2013 14:59:23
Austin won't join us, Dorrans would be interesting as would Parr as we need a good quality young left back. Can't see De Laet joining us to be fair and don't think he's worth £2.5m. As for Clayton and Murphy, Clayton would be a superb long-term signing but can't see him joining us unless we guarantee him a starting berth. There are better CM's out there than Murphy. Phillips will go to the prem

17 Apr 2013 01:27:21
Carlisle's Brad Potts moving to Millwall in the summer

Can they afford him, from the prices I heard been offered for him you are looking at over £500 thousand pushing to a million

The price is around £100,000 plus add ons. Carlisle need funds to help balance the books.

17 Apr 2013 01:06:01
Cardiff manager Malky Mackay tonight passed a list of players he would like City to sign in the summer to the boatd of directors him to compete in the top flight.
Danny Drinkwater - Leicester
Danny Graham - Sunderland
Andreas Weimann - Aston Villa

Expect other names soon

Darren Bent maybe, not Andreas Weimann, he's too good for Cardiff City. From being linked to Inter Milan & Liverpool to being linked with Cardiff City!? Dream on!

17 Apr 2013 09:53:04
Drinkwater? What have you been drinking?

Redbird

17 Apr 2013 12:18:01
im an lcfc fan and although drinkwaters fairly decent at times, he won't handle the prem

17 Apr 2013 13:12:49
So basically any player that he signed or had on loan at Watford. surely Cardiff have their own scouting network!

Why would Weimann left Aston Villa?

Wiemann could go to a top 6 team and why would sunderland sell a player they recently bought

Mate
Dream on

Graham they won't sign as he USED TO PLAY FOR SWANSEA. Drinkwater will never get a single game. the only useful one is Andreas Weimann

17 Apr 2013 01:00:56
Hartlepool United manager John Hughes has just finished a meeting regarding the players futures and revealed a number will be leaving as they are not willing to take a League 2 pay cut.
Scottish side Ross County are set to steal a number of youngsters from United.
He is expecting the following to happen in the summer after also revealing enquiries have been made for some of his players:
James Poole - Released
Nathan Luscombe - Released
Anthony Sweeney - Ross County
Josh Rowbotham - Ross County
Greg Rutherford - Ross County
Jack Baldwin - Ross County
Jordan Richards - Ross County
Darren Holden - Ross County
Luke James - Ross County

Talking crap there pal. No way will they let Poole, James and Baldwin leave unless for big money

17 Apr 2013 00:50:37
Expect a clear out at Portsmouth after they were relegated from League 1.
David Connolly - Retirement (coaching role at Arsenal)
Johannes Ertl - Urawa Red Diamonds
Ashley Harris - QPR
Adam Webster - QPR
Jack Maloney - QPR

Tosh!

David Conolly said yesterday that he has 3 years left in him.
Ertl isn't going anywhere.
And the youngsters are not ready to join a big team yet and follow in Magri's footsteps, and they are all Pompey born and bred with a very good chance of first team football next season.

So get your facts right.

What nonsense! Connolly wants to play on for at least 2 years for a start! All these guys will be at Pompey next season.

Connolly will want to play at a higher level than League 2, so he will be away.

And you may have real problems attracting a performing dog if the league decide to deduct your 10 points for NEXT season. I'm afraid you are all making some unfounded assumptions at the moment. {Ed003's Note -

"unfounded assumptions" Isn't that the point of a rumours page?

17 Apr 2013 00:42:21
Bury manager Kevin Blackwell had a meeting this week with his players about their futures and some have come to him saying they are keen to leave Gigg Lane. Some enquries have already been made for some players after their relegation was confirmed last week.
Only Tom Soares and Shane Byrne have revealed they would like to leave in the summer. Byrne is wanted by former Bury boss Richie Barker at Crawley Town whilst 26 year old midfielder Soares will have talks with Scottish side Hibernian.

Given our finances all high wage earners will be released and we'd accept offers for anybody under contract

18 Apr 2013 07:47:47
Crawley are interested in kevin davis he has been see at the club a few times. Barker has already expressed his desire to sign him

18 Apr 2013 11:24:38
Saw davies at the traning ground got a pic with him

18 Apr 2013 11:25:32
Crawley to release new nike home and away kits in the next week

18 Apr 2013 19:33:27
Anyone know what date new crawley kits come out for sale?

19 Apr 2013 10:41:50
I think they come out in the next two weeks but not sure any one else know? And they r going to be made by nike?

Byrne has a blood disorder and has been out most of the season and may have to retire. You really need to check these things before posting.

17 Apr 2013 00:35:08
Bristol City manager Sean O'Driscoll has arranged a meeting with his players this week regarding summer moves. This comes after a number of players went to the manager saying they wanted to depart in the summer after their relegation to League 1.
Lewin Nyatanga - Released
Marvin Elliott - Transfer Request
Stephen Pearson - Nottingham Forest
Paul Anderson - Nottingham Forest
Greg Cunningham - QPR
Cole Skuse - Crystal Palace

It is thought City are keen on keeping hold of everyone else but know it may not be possible.

I don't know if it at all relevent as he is always welcome at the Gate, but I collected my tickets behind Joe Jordan last night.

My mate and I were left speculating on who if anyone QPR would be looking at out of our team, or Birminghams?

I can only see them wanting Cunningham or Albert from us.

Redmond or Butland from Blues?

Perhaps Harry fancies signing Old Man Mullins again?

Butland already signed for Stoke

Right let's rip this apart lol
Nyatanga will stay
Elliott contract is ending and will leave on free (no transfer)
pearson-hopefully go
Anderson will not go back to notts forest wil stay
cunnigham could move but at a decent sell on from 400,000 spent on him
skuse-contract is up so will leave on free if he doesn't sign on reduced terms

Pretty sure Stead will walk away after the expiry of his contract as well.

He is City's highest earner and would have to accept a major cut to avoid up rooting himself.

16 Apr 2013 23:41:37
Oldham Athletic interested in Queen of the south hot shot gavin reilly.

16 Apr 2013 23:02:41
Walsall manager Dean Smith was spotted in the stands at Aldershot vs Southend tonight, rumour going round he was there to watch shots duo Paul McCallum (on loan from WestHam) and forward Craig Reid
