Danny Fox is set to make a return to Burnley after falling out of the Southampton first team.

Please be true, worst player ever to wear a Saints shirt

Not the worst player for definite. Did a lot for us, just not the right standard of player for the premiership. He was a big part of our back to back promotions to.

Never liked him at bfc, has a long ball on him that's it

Lafferty is a much better left back then Fox so it won't happen, plus we won't be able to afford the transfer money, so you can keep him.

Worst player ever? That's a little harsh, What about record signing Agustin Delgado- he was special.

Don't be unfair. He's not even close to being the worst. He was very good for us in the championship - his crossing was outstanding.

He's been found out defensively in the prem which is a shame, but thank you Danny for your services in the championship.

Any championship team would do well to have him in their team.

18 May 2013 09:32:13
Danny Fox and Richard Chaplow will return to Burnley as part of a swap deal that will see Kieran Trippier and Charlie Austin join Saints

"Please be true, worst player ever to wear a Saints shirt"

Take it you've never seen Jermaine Wright? Or Lee Molyneux?

The only possibility of this is if Saints loan him out and pay a percentage of his wage. His wage is too high for Burnley to even consider, but maybe another championship team may be interested. We are more likely to loan Robinson

Fox has been great for saints any championship team would snap him up

Tripper and Austin won't join the saints

Ali dia was the worst saints player ever still makes me laugh now

You are spot on Austin and Trippier won't be joining Saints. Neither would get anywhere near our 1st team. We are a Midtable premiership team with ambitions to move higher. We will be signing a MUCH higher calibre than this on the summer.

You mean they wouldn't want to or we don't want them, because if we wanted them I'm 90 % sure we could get them

18 May 2013 16:52:51
What about ali dia?

Lee Todd fact

Austin and Trippier haha. No thanks! We have better and more proven players at the club already.

Duncan Speedy, Craig Maskell, Vincent Péricard, Imants Bleidis let's face it we have had some proper donkeys at our club many far FAR worse than Fox & Guly combined.

Hopefully cuellar will leave but keep Vaughan as back up

18 May 2013 11:48:31
I clicked 'unbelievable' more in hope than expectation.

Change the record Bramble is linked with Hull in nearly every transfer window. Cuellar and Vaughan are average at best. can't see any of them been wanted by Hull City.

17 May 2013 21:54:57
Sylvan ebanks Blake in talks with middlesbrough and is expected at rocklife park in the next few days

If he is like any Wolves first team he will be on holiday at the moment. there's also no rush he has a broken ankle and ligament damage so will be out until probably christmas.

Last thing boro want is a striker whos team has just been relegated. Goals Win Games. {Ed003's Note - He was scoring until he got injured}

17 May 2013 21:45:05
Plymouth captain Conor Hourihane looked all set to join Yeovil, however, it has emerged that he is a shock target for Birmingham City, and should Birmingham decide to pursue their interest, then the Championship club would definitely be his preferred destination.

Yeovil are now a Championship side aswell!

17 May 2013 21:34:07
After telling you about it around 6 weeks ago I'm delighted to sat Aaron Chapman has signed for Chesterfield from Belper Town. The Spirerites will also take Town striker Shaun Tuton on trial in the summer. Sitting rather smugly I must admit.

Can't see him leaving as he's currently under contract till end of 2013 and he's just about won every prize avaliable for the emd of season awards at notts and is a very highly rated player so its not as we're goning to let him go very easily.

2.5m and you can have him

May have won everything that's going but. He's 1 of our own UTB

1 mil and he's yours :)

17 May 2013 20:00:28
Oxford United have started talks with out of contract Cheltenham midfielder Darren Carter.

Pretty glad Carter has left Cheltenham. He's past his sell by date, knowhere near the level he used to be at.

The level he was at, you mean the Premiership?
we can all guess that, he was at Cheltenham Town last season!
He's a good midfielder in league 2. Cheltenham will miss him and Pack!

We will miss Pack, but not Carter, second half of the season he rarely played and we did well

17 May 2013 20:43:13
Darren Ferguson rumoured to be on his way to the AMEX (source very close to inside BHAFC). DF has refused to discuss his future for the time being.

You mean di matto

Bhafc aiming a lot higher.

If I was a Brighton fan I'd be very concerned if he was being link to your club cause I'm a pne fan and believe he is a terrible manager who will ruin your club

17 May 2013 23:37:57
Di Matteo was at the Amex v Palace. Mind you, he was sat next to Zola so he may just have been doing his mate a favour by scouting the play-off final opposition. {Ed003's Note - Or he was there like many times this year because he is good friends with Gus,maybe? }

17 May 2013 20:43:06

he will join preston rather than any of the other clubs he will join up with grayson

Excuse me league 1 bradford {Ed003's Note - Well done,congratulations}

Dont think he will come to Oldham, we are cash strapped.

We aren't cash stapped at oldham after our CUP run but our manager won;t waste money just on one player.

17 May 2013 20:29:27
Stevenage midfielder James Dunne on his way to Bristol City.

from Crawley town.

Not True signing a new deal with Crawley

17 May 2013 20:50:39
Chelsea and Tottenham want to buy Luke Shaw for 12 Million but will Loan him back to Southampton. Also Liverpool want Jay Rodriguez for an Undisclosed Fee. Lastly Daniel Fox could be sold due to being surplus to requirements.

JayRod to Liverpool could happen I'm afraid. He is a north west lad and did originally struggle to settle down here. How often he'd start with Liverpool committed to Suarez and Sturridge is another question he'd have to weigh up.
This rumour about Shaw is a possibility too. Chelsea would be front runners with him stepping up to really challenge cole in a years time. I think they'd really have to splash more than 12 million though.
Fox will go this summer for sure. Nowhere near good enough at this level. I pray the first two don't happen but they are more measured and sensible rumours than some of the rubbish currently out there! It is no coincidence that the Cortese rumours in the last few days have sent the press into overdrive. The season is almost over, the football journo's need stories, so it begins! {Ed003's Note - The stories are true though}

Can't see Shaw or Rodriguez being sold because the club wants to move forwards. Plus neither are really looking to leave it seems.

Shaw will sign an 5 year deal on his 18th birthday, He won't be leaving us until at least a year or 2 into that contract, when he does leave it will be closer to 30 million than 12 million I can assure you. Jay Rod is settled here now and won't leave either

Cortese is officially staying, therefore none of these players will be going anywhere. Happy days. COYS!

The interest behind the stories is probably true 'cos they're both bloody good young players BUT, in the absence of ridiculously stupid bids, neither will be going anywhere now!

Whilst its true that Saints don't need to sell and would only sell for a lot of money, the problem is that players can now force transfers to go through regardless of how strong the club's position so if any big clubs come in for Saints players there will always be a chance of it happening if the player really wants to go.

Ha ha ha good luck with that.

Can't see either having a consistent starting place in the first XI, which is vital as young up and coming footballers.

Price would be very very high for either of them due to their age and nationality and the fact Southampton don't need to sell.

Can't see our players being sold for this main reason. They are all so young and already playing for a mid-table prem side on the up with no worries about finance. Compare that to the Italian/Spanish leagues who are all rich in talent and struggling to balance the books. In general I can't see much inter-club dealings in the prem.

Can't see it. The Cortese situation had been resolved, read this statement from the club "Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce that the Executive Chairman, Nicola Cortese, and the owner of the Club, Katharina Liebherr, yesterday concluded their regular strategy review for the Club and signed off on plans for the Club's continued development.

"Commenting on the Agreement, Nicola Cortese said: "We are now in a position to move forward with our ambitious plans for the Club and I would like to thank Katharina for the very helpful manner in which she approached our talks about long term strategy. I am pleased that this matter is now resolved.

"We can now focus 100% on our preparations for next season. We have tremendous momentum now at the Club and we are looking forward with great confidence to an exciting and successful campaign next season. The last few days have shown me the unity that we now have across the Club in the players, the First Team Manager, the staff and the Chairmanship which normally takes years to achieve. I have always believed that to create this unity would make us a very strong Club and it is a unity of which I am unashamedly proud. "

That doesn't sound like the sort of person who will be selling our best players!

Haha won't happen as we no longer have any need to sell, so unless a player has a burning desire to leave which they won't as saints is an exciting place to be at the mo, then we'd probs let them but I think they're both very happy

If Chelsea offered £90000 a week to Luke shaw is he going to want to stay at saints even with a 5 year contract. I think not. All I hope is they put a sell on clause and we don't miss out on a big pay day in the future.

Chelsea can't have offered anything to luke shaw as we haven't accepted any bids, thus they aren't allowed to talk to him about any contracts until an offer is accepted.

Anyway, chelsea would only give him 30k max imo

17 May 2013 19:10:20
Viktor Fischer (Ajax) on Swanseas radar.

Any good

Most promissing young Ajax player for years.

18 May 2013 21:32:46
Viktor Fischer any good? Have a look - only 18 years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F3MOwklpf4

This kid is class, will be a top player in years to come, best danish player since laudrup, would be great for swansea

17 May 2013 19:05:46
Plymouth are showing an interest in Wycombe wanderers winger Joel Grant, who is out of contract.

Plymouth have also enquired about the availability of Celtic's English-born centre half Tom Lannigan on a possible season long loan.

Nonsense. Why would he go to a club that barely stayed up last season?

No they haven't.

Scunthorpe united also interested in Grant

People want to sign for a club on the up

I've heard lannigan could be a future england star, he's only 18!

Lannigan is defiantly one for the future, would be a great signing for argyle!

17 May 2013 19:14:44
Cheltenham manager Mark Yates has held talks with out of contract striker Rene Howe.

17 May 2013 19:12:56
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is keen on taking Jack Robinson on loan from Liverpool

the Left Back spent last season on loan at Wolves and impressed but wants to stay in the Championship so he won't be rejoining Wolves next season

Brilliant Left Back. Rumours have some logic behind them as Mills is going back to Reading. Small wage aswell

Wolves fan here. robinson was one of the few joys ( aterrific tackler) in a spectacularly bleak year. sign him up if you get a chance, i'd have loved him to say

Robinson was actually dreadful. Gave away a stupid penno at B'ham, and a stupid corner vs Burnley resulting in their 2nd goal, which basically relegated us. And the fact that he was on loan meant that he showed no hunger or desire. So to me, coming from a Wolves fan, I wouldn't bother Burnley.

17 May 2013 19:05:18
Peter Murphy to sign with Kilmarnock in the SPL

17 May 2013 18:54:20
Abu Agogo is signing for Oxford very soon, very reliable source

We seem to be linked with just about every single free agent at the minute so this rumour dosent faze me, wouldn't mind it to be true though.

18 May 2013 08:24:34
Ogogo has not been released, so not a free agent! He is out of contract at the end of June, if he doesn't sign a new deal.

So he is free to talk to other clubs and sign for them, when his contract ends. So he is basically out of contract!

17 May 2013 18:57:26
Swindon Town interested in 5 players at the moment. Kevin MacDonald wants his targets in early ready for pre season.

Curtis Obeng - Swansea
Jordan Bowery - Aston Villa
Daniel Johnson - Aston Villa
Korey Smith - Norwich
Nahki Wells - Bradford

From a very reliable source who told me at Christmas Matt Ritchie was going to join Bournemouth in the new year and it happened. Watch this space.

This would be good if true all very talented young players hope kev mac can make this happen

You'd probably be loaning out the Villa ones

Swindon have no money so wells will not be joining

Korey is an excellent player. Swindon would do well to get him in.

17 May 2013 18:26:38
Port Vale are set to sign Darren Carter after he rejected an new contract from Cheltenham.

How can you reject a contract that isn't offered to you?

17 May 2013 17:49:01

17 May 2013 22:18:12
Watch out the amount of al-haly players at hull city sure man united are going to sign him ;-)

17 May 2013 18:40:40
Bristol City still expected to sign Scott Flinders despite interest from other clubs. Newly promoted Rotherham and Championship Leicester are also interested. Flinders would be back up for Kasper Schmeichel if he joined Leicester but would be 1st choice keeper for Bristol City. Neil Watson from the Sunderland Echo newspaper understands that Hartlepool are close to agreeing a deal. Flinders has held talks with all 3 clubs and Flinders is keen to play at a higher level.

Fitness test on Monday

17 May 2013 23:03:07
Flinders has been dismissed as a target for Rotherham by Steve Evans this week!

17 May 2013 18:01:41
Walsall fowards Will Grigg and Febian will leave the Club in the summer on a free.
Grigg 21, rejected a new contract and is strongly linked with a, number of Championship clubs.
Brandy 24, is linked with a move to join Charlton Athletic on a 2 year-contract.
Walsall however have signed up twins James and Adam Chambers on a 1 year contract.

Walsall Trialist in:

Charlie Sheringham
James Harper
Shelton Martis
Nicky Weaver
Simon Ferry
Onismor Bhasera
Calvin Zola
Scott Wagstaff

Will Grigg isn't a free transfer. He is out of contract but as he is under 24 and came through the youth system Walsall are entitled to a fee.

18 May 2013 06:57:46
Nicky Weaver is woeful, leave well alone.

Why would Charlton want a striker with a history of not being good enough for a number of lower league clubs whose 7 goals in 33 last year is his highest ever tally? I mean really?

Brandy isn't a goal scorer. He would only be decent at a Championship club as an impact player. Or he could play on the right wing, but it remains to be seen how good he'd be. Last season was his first decent season in ages. Skilful player, though.

17 May 2013 18:01:18
hull are looking to land kasper schmiecel from leicester

Leicester have Said that they will not do buisness with hull so if he is to leave us he won't be joining Hull

17 May 2013 22:03:26
We won't do business with Hull because they do not do Business with us and anyway he has been offered a new contract so would not be surprised if he stayed with us in the end from a Leicester fan

Odemwingie going to hull city for 4 million according to them papers

I think what the Allams said was that they won't do business with Nigel Pearson. If NP gets the boot you might see things change.

Leicester may have said they won't do buisness with us, but if Kasper wants to go then they won't have no choice!

17 May 2013 18:00:28
hull and cardiff both want wba striker peter odemwingie

Hope cardiff get him definitely will score goals in the prem. great bit of bizz tha would b for the us

Malky Mackay does not like players that rock the boat. This is not a player he would sign.

Malky will not touch Odemwingie with a barge pole. His whole ethos is built around commitment & loyalty & Odemwingie has neither!

Not a chance, we don't want players who are not loyal and committed.

17 May 2013 17:49:53
Former Chesterfield man Craig Clay has signed for York City.

Scott boden heading the same way I hear

Hope for Yorks sake that isn't true unless they are planning relegation back to the Conference

Clay ain't a bad player to be honest! He works hard and battles, but if Bowden goes to York they must be desperate

Craig Clay will be a good player for York. I for one was sorry to see him go. Nothing fantastic but a good honest hard worker who would have been a good squad player to keep. Ventress

Much prefer clay to randall. one of the best centre mids in this league and a future championship player IMO. will work hard and perform anywhere on the pitch and can score a fair few too! relishes each chance he's given and has a hell of a passion. great signing for york, sad to see him leave

17 May 2013 17:59:34

Bury football club will soon be owned by ex Manchester United players.
The Neville bros, David beckham, Paul scholes all putting money in to buy the club.
This will be announced on Wednesday when everything is signed.

And will Eric Cantona be training the reserves.

Think your going to far with the beckham thing

Beckham is only putting money in as is Paul Scholes, the club will be run by the Nevilles.

17 May 2013 17:33:26
Preston north end are to sign the following over the next few days, lee novak, marc gray, todd kane,

17 May 2013 18:56:29
todd kane is back on loan at rovers next season

Who the hell is Marc Gray? {Ed003's Note - I think it is Mark with a 'k' who the poster means.}

Doubt Preston could afford Novaks wages and seems like last season that they are signing everybody who wants a new club. Ha ha

Or Preston have found some money for wages even though their crowds have gone down from 17k in the Championship to just over 8K in league one home games.

18 May 2013 09:56:04
why do other fans think preston dnt have any money we have one of the richest owners in the game the reason he never gave westley or fergie much is he did trust them, Grayson will be given funds belive me {Ed034's Note - believe me the ffp rules will dictate how much managers are given

Preston's average gate last season just over 10,000. Average gate in 2010-11 (championship) 13, 400. In the last 2 years they have reduced playing squad by 30% and substantially reduced the wages bill. They can certainly afford Novak's wages.

Preston's average gate last season was just 9, 200.

Average gate in 2010-11 (championship) 11, 700

sourse: FA website

Thanks for the info on PNE average gates. My fault for looking at Wikipedia, but the gap between Div. 1 and championship less than the figures I quoted and certainly not the 8,000 and 17,000 quoted by other poster.

17 May 2013 17:32:32
Port Vale currently looking at ex-huddersfield town striker lee novak, after his contract was not re-newed

17 May 2013 19:01:00
sorry terms agreed with preston {Ed003's Note - I think he's in talks with Barnsley}

17 May 2013 21:38:39
Actually he's going to birmingham. To team up with lee Clark

Wrong, he turned down a new contract as reported by htafc ''we couldn't bridge a seizable gap in the contract offer'' Ash Moss utt

Torn on this, has been played as a wide man and a target man and at times has looked clueless, however in a 4-4-2 up front with Vaughan has looked class. Can he play at championship level? I think the Jury is still out, a move away from town could either send him into the wilderness or elevate his career, we will have to wait and see.

For couldn't read wouldn't bridge a sizeable gap, Town have the money as Vaughan is going to cost £25k a week it's just that Novak isn't worth more than £6-7k but wants a lot more. Good luck to him, his agent will have "bigged him up" to believe he is worth much more than he is hoping to get a slice from a bigger cake.

Novak is on nowhere near 6k a week. Try a third of that.

Doubt Vaughan will be on that

17 May 2013 17:26:18
Barnsley FC Ins:
Chris O'Grady £300,000
Nahki Wells £750,000
Marcus Tudgay 3 month loan
Rory Delap £0
Lewin Nyatanga £0

Outs:
Danny Rose season loan Bradford City
Jordan Clark season loan Chesterfield

So Wells, unproven above L1 is worth more than twice that for O'Grady who scored 12 goals at championship level last season? How's that work?
Radio Sheff said they spoke to MM who is happy to keep O'Grady unless they get at least 500k and a replacement in

O'Grady cost us £350,000 so why do you think he will be sold for less than we paid?
He has found his ideal home at Oakwell but you will have to pay for him his value has increased not decreased.

17 May 2013 20:43:13
Who, s MM thought it was DJ
Wombwell RED

Where are we going to get the money to afford O'Grady and Nakhi Wells?

We've already got 3million for John stones,

Yes we have money from Stones and the cup run etc but they don't seem too want too spend it Flitcroft been told he as same budget as last season so no big money.

Ogrady didn 't cost any where near 350K.

How would you know what budget flit croft is on,
Are you the chairman,

The budgets the same, I agree but that's for wages, it's nothing to do with the buying budget, that's a separate pot!, I hope

MM = Milan Mandaric?

17 May 2013 17:25:21
wolves have released ebanks-blake, stephen hunt and christophe berra. hunt is being linked with bournemouth as competition to marc pugh. ebanks-blake is wanted by bolton, ipswich and middlesborough after a good scoring season. whereas berra is expected to go back up to scotland

Surely Big Mick will go for Sylvan. He's a proven goalscorer in the championship and they have a good relationship. We could do with a striker of his ability.

Hunt was allegedly released due to his wage demands, I can't see him going to Bournemouth as 'competition'

Ain't Blake out injured with a broken ankle or something Paul itfc

SEB won't be match fit until December, that is he has has no subsequent injuries during his recuperation and return to fitness. Though he is a quality championship striker.

Heard that Pugh is going to West Ham after being scouted all season so if he comes in it will be as a replacement. Pugh is on mega bucks so I imagine it will be a like for like contract

17 May 2013 17:17:21
Chris Hughton has confirmed that club captain Grant Holt will not be leaving the club

Shame been great for the club but for us to move forward we need better

Preston looking at
Chris Humphrey
Jonathan Spector
Steve Schumacher
Lee Novak
David Worrall

17 May 2013 16:54:51
Chris Morgan, Graham Arnold, Stuart McGall, Richie Barker, Russell Slade, Chris Wilder, Gareth Southgate and Keith Curle have been shortlisted for the manager's job.

The Seven will hold interviews with the chairman, and the next manager will be appointed soon.

However, Stuart McGall is reported to have said that he has not recieved an approach from Sheffield United.

Why would McCall swap European football for L1

17 May 2013 21:48:52
Don't agree with the shortlist mentioned. A shortlist of 7 with 8 names. we can't believe anything anymore what comes out of the boards mouth

Because he in Europe for like a week

This is OP, I literally just put what was reported in the local newspapers. {Ed034's Note - of which we thank him for doing and letting others who maybe have not read it, to know what has been reported.

Juan veron has applied for the post. I know this as I work there.

Derby defenders Naylor and O'Connor both joining League one clubs Coventry and Rotheram respectively. Derby step up hunt for experienced CB/FB with bids for Ryan Shotton and Kirk Broadfoot.

Kirk Broadfoot is available on a free as he's out of contract at Pool.

Please do some checking when your making stuff up

RU sure he is o-o-c this summer? thought he had time left on contract and was one Ince wanted to keep at club? {Ed003's Note - he is out of contract and he has been offered a new contract}

Conor Hourihane is set to stay at Plymouth Argyle after a wage increase, promise of first-team football, the captaincy and after hearing Plymouth's ambitious targets for the coming season. It is yet to be known if this is enough to convince Jake Cole and/or Onismor Bhasera to stay.

I have heard from a source close to Plymouth captain Conor Hourihane that he has no intentions of going to Wembley on Sunday and wasn't even planning on watching the Yeovil Match on TV. He insisted Conor intends to sign a new contract with Argyle but is currently back with his family in Ireland.

Your sources lie, he is in London

17 May 2013 15:41:53
I have it on good authority that Arsenal are in for both Morgan Schnerderlein and Jack Cork from Southampton as a pair of defensive to anchor a 4-2-3-1 system next year. Price offered £13 million so far for the pair. Also Chelsea and Spurs in a bidding war for Luke Shaw. Offer now up to £12. 75 million. These discussions have had a destabliising impact on Southampton as the Chairman and Manager do not want to sell their Crown Jewels but the owners wish to see a return on their investment.

I have it on good authority that none of this is true. What is under discussion is whether the owners want to invest as much as Cortese wants to move Saints into challenging the top end of the table. This does not mean they want to sell there top players. As for £13 mill for Cork and Morgan not even close and Shaw won't be going for that price either.

If saints sell those 3 players
which I don t think they will
cortese and pochettino
might as well go as well

£13 million for both Scneiderlin and Cork and £12 million for Shaw. Oh yeah, this makes perfect sense.

13mill for Morgan and Cork! Yeah good luck with that. We wouldn't even let Morgan alone go for that.
Shaw for 12. 75mill? Run along! He is about the most valuable teenager in the premier league. Double it and your starting to get nearer but southampton have no desire or need to sell any of these. Rubbish rumour!

Nonsense, owners aren't wanting out. They just aren't seemingly certain on keeping Cortese. Shaw, Schneiderlin and Cork are probably not going anywhere this summer. {Ed003's Note - I believe the owners had a plan to establish the Saints and then sell,it seems this is the crossroads they are at now,time will tell what they decide to do.}

They didn't have a plan to establish then sell. For starters this stuff in the news isn't even about the owners wanting to sell it's about Cortese and his demands or him leaving. {Ed003's Note - It is what I said in the last post }

So it seems Cortese is happy.
Saintren1

Sorry ed003 but how do you know the plans of a billionaire swiss group? {Ed003's Note - because I was informed about it,all seems fine this morning so no need to worry for now.}

Ed probably feeling a bit stupid now since Cortese is staying. No players leaving. {Ed003's Note - not as stupid as someone who can't take in my comments,did you read where I mentioned being at a crossroad}

He's staying, it's official. End of thread!

The prices mentioned make the OP a joke.

Maybe Arsenal and Chelsea are interested, but for those prices they can jog on.

Schneiderlin + Cork probably valued at £30million together by Saints.

Shaw can barely be valued. He's dubbed as better than bale. He's the biggest talent in English football. Can't put a price on that, certainly not £12. 75 million.

Ed003 : That MAY have been the plan after Marcus Liebherr's death but it defo was not the plan when they originally purchased us. {Ed001's Note - it was the original plan, Cortese wanted someone to back the club, he is the man with the plan to make Saints a European force. Liebherr was in it to make money, a 5 year plan to get in the Prem and get plans in place for a stadium expansion, then reconsider his position. Cortese had, and will no doubt continue, to prepare investors ready for the day the club does come on the market.}

What a load of nonsense, none of them are going, for them prices especially! They have all signed long contracts (Shaw when he turns 18).

The Cortese Situation had been resolved. Read this statement from the club "Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce that the Executive Chairman, Nicola Cortese, and the owner of the Club, Katharina Liebherr, yesterday concluded their regular strategy review for the Club and signed off on plans for the Club's continued development.

I'm so excited being a saints fan right now!

Clubs will try but fail, as we won't sell them

20 May 2013 12:11:45
If we are selling the we need to put on a sell on fee as bale is selling for 50 million+ we sold him for 7 and Shaw looks like he has better potential than bale

17 May 2013 15:24:57
Rumours are that someone has bid for Stoke Citys German CB Robert Huth. Anything over £10 million, Stoke are likely to accept

10 million I don't think so. half of that perhaps. Stokebluebird

I hope to god we don't sell him he's priceless in my eyes huth and shawcross are the backbone of our team we would be in trouble if either were to leave

Stoke wouldn't accept £5 million. What would are you living in? whitehead cost £5 million, £10 million at least for Huth

Just signed a long term contract so someone's in Wonderland with Alice

Whatever. The Bluebirds would kill for a central defensive partnership as good as Huth and Shawcross

He won't go, we have no good cover for him. And he's worth AT LEAST £8m

Stoke won't sell up, he's well worth 10 million but no one will pay that, him and Shawcross are solid at the back and we would be foolish to let him go

17 May 2013 15:02:22
Derby County are attempting to sign Cheltenham Town youngster Zak Kotwica

Nice try.

17 May 2013 15:12:48
A host of championship clubs are after stevenage fc's top scorer Lucas Akins after a difficult season for the hertfordshire club Akins was the stand out performer.

Correct, there is interest for him, however he has had an absolutely dismal second half to the season, will be delighted if we get a fiver for him

17 May 2013 20:15:30
Its always been Stevenages Policy, they will let a player go if they see the offer as a lot better option for the player. I doubt this includes teams in the same division as it hasn't in the past, even if the team is a big one. If the players are under contract and get "life changing" offers they won't stand in their way and will support them.

Stevenage are just chancing there luck and trying to get some money for bad players by talking them up in the press. Usual stuff from Westley

17 May 2013 15:07:30

Martin Oneil is set to become the new Stoke Manager

Tony won't go! he is stoke! don't know about O'neil, did an amazing job at villa, but was poor at sunderland =/

Ta ta Stoke if Oneil is the next boss, in Tony we trust

If O'neil is named Stoke manager I will cry.

Sounds good to me

Why would we cry, the man has more experience in Europe and in getting limited teams to perform. GET HIM NOOOOOOOOWWW

We are not in Europe. Tony Pulis mkII, but wastes even more money.

17 May 2013 12:45:24
Stoke are interested in the following Wigan Players since their relegation to the championship

James McCarthy
James McArthur
Shaun Maloney
Franco Di Santo
Callum Mcmanaman

James mcCarthy and mcmanaman are way out of there budget

Way out of budget you having a laff we have one of the richest cherman in the prem who owns bet 365 I really doubt they are out of budget

If Stoke paid £10-12m for a 30 year old striker (Crouch) they will afford one of these two

No out of budget, but they'd be wasted at Stoke (from a Stoke fan!) And leave Di Santio well alone, awful player.

17 May 2013 12:44:13
Qatari side Lekhwiya are in talks with French midfielder Elliot Grandin after his release from Blackpool and the 25 year old could sign a lucrative three year deal.

17 May 2013 12:40:39
After announcing his retirement from playing, Wolves defender Jody Craddock is in line of signing a three year contract with Ipswich as a coach.

Said he wouldn't go into coaching. plus a year of benefits too sort+attend,

Even though he has said numerous times that he wants to concentrate on his artwork and leave football behind him.

I seriously doubt he'd leave Wolves after 10 years to coach at Ipswich just because Mick and TC are here.

17 May 2013 12:40:34
Scunthorpe United ready to make a bid for Non League stars Damien Reeves and James Norwood

CHelsea were thought to be interested however they have pre-contract agreement in place for Cavani who will join Ba and Torres. Lukaku to Swansea -

17 May 2013 10:10:37
Sources believe that Bristol Rovers manager John Ward are talking to Burtons Billy Kee, the strikers contract runs out this summer and talks are believed to be taking place.
Elliot Richards could also be lined up with a move away from Bristol in the shape of Newport, a loan move is favoured by the welsh club, more on this when I have it.

False rumour again. Billy Kee just signed a 3 years deal this winter.

Just to say, billy kee's contract doesn't run out in the summer.

17 May 2013 21:59:08
John ward isn't that interested in adding another striker to the group and elliot is very much in his plans so I don't see this happening,

Kee signed a three year deal six months ago it would cost anyone a fortune to buy him out of Burton.

If Kee's on a 3 year deal then I doubt we'll be after him, however for richards I think a loan will do him good.

17 May 2013 14:49:01
Chesterfield in talks with former Yeovil and Carlisle midfielder Andy Welsh.

Boco from Accrington is looking for a League 1 club who will offer him more money than Chesterfield, but if not will sign for CFC.

Ryan Cresswell is almost done deal and Evan Horwood of Hartlepool and Ashley Grimes of Rochdale linked with Chesterfield also.

Former Spurs winger Andy Barcham been in talks with Paul Cook but deal some way off.

Scott Arfield and Tom Clarke recently released by Huddersfield have also been in talks with Chesterfield.

Finally, Conor Townsend and Micah Evans two other targets for CFC.

17 May 2013 16:40:08
tom Clarke is in talks with preston so chesterfield have no chance unless preston pull out of talks

Good luck limited and NOT championship sub at best

Preston can take Tom Clarke he's not good at all, shows where PNE are going in life

We had Micah Evans before on loan and didn't really get a game! CFC will not get another striker

17 May 2013 14:46:22
Glenn Whelan is Set to leave stoke after reportedly putting a pigs head in Kenwyne Jones's locker. The club is disguested by his actions and the player will be placed on to the transfer list

I actually can't believe he put a pigs head in his Locker, but Jones didn't need to put a brick through his car if the rumours are true

It was just a prank gone wrong. It's either just a bit of banter, or they really hate eachother

I think Kenwynne's reaction is entirely understandable and Whelan should count himself lucky it was a car that was the target and not the twerp who put the pig there

Whelan is the practical joker of the group and is always pulling jokes. But this is too far, Kenwyne follows some sort of religion big time and I think this is why it has offended him so much

17 May 2013 14:43:33
Walsall have offered a 12 month deal to former Dundee forward Greg Birmingham with a 12 month extention in the clubs favour.

Raheem Sterling to Palace ON 6mth loan if they get promoted

17 May 2013 14:28:32
Mark Randall to join Oxford after rejecting a new contract with chesterfield

23 years old so would be required to pay compensation if Chesterfield have offered a contract. Ask the majority of OUFC fans if they will be paying a fee for a player this summer and most will give you the same answer.

And that answer is 'no chance'.

I'm surprised anyone would want Randall, don't expect him to go in on any tackles and as for headers. he'll duck instead of risking his hair style. Can pass the ball well but its rare when he feels like it!

I wouldn't be surprised if we paid compo. We have for players the past couple summers.
Rigg, Smalley, potter, green, chapman.

Tell you what take Randall and we will let you off with the compo it will only be a couple of quid anyway

17 May 2013 14:21:23
Just announced on stevenage website that westley would let James dunne and Lucas Akins leave for the right offer

17 May 2013 14:13:58
Watford are looking at Eduardo Vargas a young talent from Chile who is on loan at Gremio from Napoli

Interesting! Is this through the Pozzo scouting system?

Flopped horribly at Napoli, I don't know how he's doing at Gremio, but if the price is right he could be worth a punt. Very very risky move though for us.

Very possible, could be done as part of deal for Armero to go to Napoli where he's been on loan from Udinese.

I think this is very very interesting news he got young South American of the year and has European experience but was not good enough for napoli because they are in a class of their own.

17 May 2013 14:12:22
barnet are keeping goalkeeper graham stack. also players mauro vilheti, harry crawford, luke gambin, david stevens and unfortunatly jon nurse : (

How do you know we are keeping jon nurse?

I hope he doesn't stay (nurse)

21 May 2013 09:32:55
hes rubbish they should just get rid of him now

17 May 2013 13:57:53
Peter Leven is set to begin talks with Northampton next week. He has already met with Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham. Rovers offer was considerably better than Cheltenham's but he is hoping Northampton can match it as it is a shorter commute.

I know its true that Rovers are in for him

I very much doubt this as I expect Northampton will be preparing for a play off game.

This is complete rubbish. Cheltenham have made no contact with Leven.

I hope Cobblers get Leven as, from what I've seen, he has been one of Oxford's better players in the last couple of seasons

17 May 2013 13:52:03
Having sign Tom Heaton today on a 3 year deal Burnley will raid Bristol again for Sam Baldock who will be allowed to leave for around 750,000

The same Sam Baldock that plays for West Ham but is on loan at Bristol City? Lies Lies From Tiny Eyes

I doubt city would sell Baldock unless offer was above 1m

It's not a 3 year deal its a 2 year deal!

He doesn't play for west ham he is a bristol city player

Am I the only person hoping we raid peterborough. Tommy Rowe and Lee Tomlin are technically good players who may be available a little cheaper due to their relegation

17 May 2013 13:50:01
Norwich are after Spurs winger Andros Townsend, who's spent the second half of the season at QPR. Not likely to be a regular at Spurs next year, so a move to Norwich likely either on loan or permanently.

I think he looks like a good player. OTBC

I'd do anything to have Townsend in the Norwich squad, he has such an engine and puts in an amazing shift every game! Quality young talent

Makes sense. he did play for Leeds for a short while :)

Not likely, He will be Bales back up

Would be an awesome signing and hopefully with Chrissy hughtons spurs links

If spurs don't make the CL I doubt he will come. if they don't make the CL bale is likely to leave (despite the board saying they won't sell. this story has happened countless times and 9/10 it finishes with the playing leaving. )

if bale leaves, Townsend will be used as the backup for bales replacement. but if somehow newcastle beat arsenal and spurs win, then we may get him.

I would love this. Hopefully we can sign him permanently before Spurs realise his potential.

Townsend has the same problem at Spurs if Bale goes or not. If Bale goes he's back up / if Bale stays he's back up.

If he moves it is so he can play first team football. He would be a great signing for City however he has a contract that runs to 2016 with Spurs. Spurs might not even want to listen to offers until matters are played out with Bale.

Either way even if Spurs want to sell they will want a decent fee for him.

17 May 2013 13:44:11
Millwall are wanting to make former Coventry, Southampton and Celtic manager Gordon Strachan as their new boss. The 56 year old has just taken on the role as being the Scotland national team boss but is believed to be wanting one last chance as a club manager. Strachan is keen on joining both jobs together.

Ha ha ha. Funniest rumour I have ever seen. Strachan was qouted as saying all the jobs he has had up until now was to prepare him for the scotland job. The job he wanted most

Utter tosh. One of the most ridiculous ones I've ever heard on here!

Hed be great for us. bring it on live the dream

To be fair I do think Strachan has a bit of a soft spot for Millwall. When Mark Mcgee (now his assistant as Scotland) was Millwall manager, I remember Strachan saying that he knew a lot about Millwall because of his friend (Mark Mcgee) was the manager. Plus Millwall do have Scottish connections (the people who started Millwall FC came from Scotland) and we have also had a number of Scottish managers in the past. Saying this I think Strachan and Mcgee will probably stay as the Scottish managers

17 May 2013 13:41:04
Everton are wanting to make Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert their new manager in the summer on a three year contract. Chairman Bill Kenwright believes Lambert has the right beliefs as a boss, believing in the younger generation as the Goodison Park club don't have lost of money to spend.

This may well be very true, but he wouldn't leave villa after what he has done so far, with the threat of moyes taking the best players with him to man united lambert will stay with villa

Why would Lambert want to leave Villa for a team which is in probably a worse situation in terms of off the pitch.

17 May 2013 13:22:50
Charlton now want sylvain ebanks-Blake after the release of Ricardo fuller so can pay the wages. The reason for Danny Haynes leaving is he wanted more money than charlton wanted to pay and didn't think he was worth what his agent thinks

17 May 2013 13:21:36
Middlesbrough are intrested in wolves pair Stephen hunt and sylvan Ebanks Blake who have recently been made available on free transfers

17 May 2013 21:10:05
Lucas Akins could be on his way to the boro what do you guys think

Their wages will be too high for us

Lucas would be welcomed, all boro fans ask is work hard and wear the shirt with pride.

17 May 2013 13:16:33
If Palace are promoted, they are likely to sign Brighton winger Will Buckley in order to fill the hole left by Wilf's absence.

No chance

Not a chance

Not even the slimest of chances. Even if Gius leaves, club will still want to be competitive.

Not a chance in hell

Why would Brighton sell one of their star players to a rival club

Errr they did do it with Murray!?

Glenn Murray?

18 May 2013 21:35:28
We sold Glenn Murray but tbh not many players sign a 5-year deal and then leave. Especially to a rival that we are currently having bigger issues with.

Um well we didn't sell Glenn murray, we released him after a contract couldn't be agreed. He then went on to sign for palace on a free. Brighton would not willingly sell one of thee star players to their bitter rivals.

His contract ran out at Brighton and he couldn't agree a new one with Poyet. That's why he left for Palace.

17 May 2013 13:14:49
From reliable source - Lee Novak heading South for talks with Chris Powell.

17 May 2013 13:11:02

Preston are in talks to sign 24 year old Scottish midfielder Scott Arfield. The former Falkirk and Huddersfield player is wanting first team football and sees that will happen at Deepdale.

17 May 2013 13:08:02
Oldham are interested in signing strikers Alan Lee and Bas Savage but look set to lose Jose Baxter to Tranmere or Wigan

Alan Lee is wanted at Tranmere. Maybe Baxter wants to join up with best mate James Wallace

Jose baxter to tranmere lol when could they afford to pay a fee of at least 500k. They have a smaller budget than oldham as well

Tranmere don;t have a million to buy Baxter as he has a 2 yr contract left, nice try though.

Shame he has already said he's very happy at Oldham just 10 days ago at an awards night and is looking forward to next season with our new manager.

He might have said he is happy but footballers do tend to say what fans want to hear.

Never going to happen he's happy at oldham he owes them tranmere should have signed him when he was released last summer

If tranmere would have signed him last year, he may well have been the final piece of the puzzle needed for them to stay in the top 6. But he is at oldham now and hopefully helps us push into the top half next year

Dont want either of those at oldham. alan lee loves to dive about and bas savage goal record is abysmal

17 May 2013 13:08:45
Preston North End are in talks to sign experienced front man Alan Lee on a free transfer after his release from Huddersfield.

I doubt he'e the type of player PNE are after

This rumour has been spinning for weeks. A distinct possibilty.

If he comes back then I will NOT renew my season ticket.

We realoy won't miss you if you would give up on your team because of one player

17 May 2013 13:07:44
Bradford City have invited experienced goalkeeper Nicky Weaver to Pre season training. The former Manchester City and Charlton stopper is a free agent.

17 May 2013 13:06:00
Shrewsbury Town are set to turn the loan spell of Julian Bennett from Sheffield Wednesday into a permanent deal.

He hasn't been on loan for ages so that's abit wrong.

Don't think so Bennett is crocked and was sent home from his loan early in December 2012!

Jacques Maghoma arriving at middlesborough for medical after snubbing shrewsbury and leeds

Cant see bennett sighning as Joe Jacobson is to good of a left back for bennett to get in the team.

17 May 2013 13:04:33
Bradford are set to sign Therry Racon on a free transfer from Millwall in the summer.

He's damaged property. Would have played more for us but our managed stated that he's 'never been in the right frame of mind'.

17 May 2013 13:03:16
Norwich City are looking to bolster their attacking options on the left hand side, by testing the resolve of FC Twente with a cut-price offer of just 2. 75 million for flying winger Nacer Chadli.

Chadli's contract is due to expire next summer and it is believed that Twente may well choose to sell now, rather than risk losing him for free next year.

Chadli has been described by manager Chris Hughton as an exciting talent who would provide strong competition in his position for Anthony Pilkington, who currently holds the place but has had a hit and miss season plagued with minor injuries.

How do you know CH said that about him?

Really hope that this is true. Belgian international with trickery and pace.

Chadli will be a lot more than 2. 75.

Chadli is right footed and plays left wing. His assist numbers are negligable however he's scored 12 goals in his last 15. So the only thing wing like about him is gas and a bag of tricks for taking on players. He could play in any of City's attacking positions left, right or centre. Not sure if he'll sign or not as he is rumoured to have been of interest to Ajax. He would be an exciting signing for City though. {Ed015's Note - Dortmund said to showing interest.}

17 May 2013 13:02:10
Chesterfield manager Paul Cook is wanting to sign goalkeeper Arran Lee Barrett from Ipswich Town.

Just signed Aaron Chapman from Belper Town. Would only be true if Tommy Lee was leaving for a bigger club.

Crystal Palace have been in talks with the agent of former Ipswich and Manchester United player Lee Martin.

We don't need him

Who is that

He is poor!

17 May 2013 12:57:43
Bournemouth are in talks with defender Marcos Painter. Manager Eddie Howe is keen on Championship experienced defenders and the 26 year old left back has experience with Brighton most notably.

He was at AFCB on loan a few months back and was awful. In the end he was sent back to Brighton so I don't think EH will be interested somehow. Better options available.

, hysterical - are you aware he came to us on loan towards the end of last season? he was hauled off at half time in both his appearances for being an absolute shower and was subsequently sent back to brighton as eddie howe said something along the lines of 'we don't have time to bed people in' as painter was devoid of any sort of confidence, composure or match fitness - and you reckon we're in talks to sign him permanently? give the manager a little more credit

Dont be silly he was shocking when he was on loan earlier in the season, he was sent beack early because of his poor performcances

Unlikely due to his pretty dismal showing whilst on loan this season! But I suppose given more game time and fitness training he could prove me wrong and chalk that up to just being rusty

Painter was awful in the game he played he would get a lot of abuse if he came back and Eddie sent him back he was that bad

This post is just mischief, why would Eddie Howe want him when he didn't even play when he was on loan

Haha, good one. He came on loan last season, was absolute bobbins and got sent back after only a few games. No thanks!

Rubbish. Painter was so bad, Eddie sent him back early and he has been appalling since he returned to Brighton.

Eddie wouldn't be interested did you see him when he was on loan early this season

He was on loan and awful not a true rumour

Painter? He came on loan and played in two games. but only for half a match before being substituted. Never coming to see him back here. he had a dreadful time!

This must have been posted by Marcus Painter he never completed a Full game during his 2 game laon spell

After his loan period at Bournemouth this is a rumour that is a definite NO , his time here was a nightmare, he was quickly returnd to his parent club marked" return to sender, contents damaged ".

Better not be, pile of crap. Love chazza anyway. We don't need him

I think he heard that Bournemouth were looking to hire "a painter" to paint the north stand

Marcos the painter for the new south stand

He wasn't sent back. He had to come back because Wayne Bridge was injured and we didn't have another left back.

17 May 2013 12:55:12
Leyton Orient are set to sign former Brighton and UCD midfield Gary Dicker on a two year contract.

Would be a great signing for orient. He is a quality league 1 player.

Agree. Dicker is like Dawson, but with more skill.

Good luck to Gary Dicker in the future after being relesed by Brighton.

He got suspended because tony bloom asked him to comment on what he though about the retain list (which is the players brighton are going to keep and get rid of) and he said I don't care i'm not going to be here next season, so tony bloom must have thought if your going to be like this i'm not paying you

What has Gus Poyet being suspended got to do with Gary Dicker being released

17 May 2013 12:53:52
Al Ahli, a club based in the United Arab Emirates are in talks to sign former Valencia winger Vicente on a lucrative two year contract.

Stoke are set to release the following players
Ryan Shotton
Dean Whitehead
Mamady Sidibe
Carlo Nash
Matthew Lund
Rory Delap
Jermaine Pennant
Matthew Upson

Michael Owen -retiring

Yay Shotton is going, he is completely useless, couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo!

Shotton will stay. Looked promising at times at RB but Pulis keeps flogging him on the wing.

17 May 2013 12:52:03
Orient have been linked with Barnet winger Ricky Holmes. Though he has been out since February with an injury, he is still attracting our interest.

Kenwyne Jones Is set to leave Stoke will Cardiff and Swansea battling for the powerful Striker. A fee is believed to be around £5-6 million

No thanks 5 mill your jokeing

I'd be surprised if the fee was half as much as that to be honest!

Not worth more than half a million needs a hair cut poor player one decent game 20 poor ones

No we'd struggle to get 3 million, plus I believe Swansea have moved on, Cardiff Hull and a swap deal with Villa for Darren Bent are most likely

Don't want jones down here and definitely for that much

We don't want him; to lazy at Stoke and he'd be the same with us.

Bluebirds are welcome to him!

17 May 2013 12:42:00
Crewe are in talks to sign defender Paul Bignot from Blackpool on a free transfer.

Is he young enough for crewe?

Wasn't even sure he existed anymore, saw him in a couple of pre season games 2 or 3 years ago and absolutely nothing since.

17 May 2013 12:32:54
Blackpool forward Gary Taylor-Fletcher will re-join Huddersfield Town after they offered him a better contract than the New one on offer at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool didn't offer him a new contract

I really hope this is true. The least you expect from a footballer is for them to be in shape. And by that I don't mean spherical.

Blackpool fan here - hope this is true

No way GTF is coming back to the Terriers, too old and for the money he will want much better younger and hungry players about.

It looks like Huddersfield is becoming a retirement home for ex-Blackpool players?

Has Mark Robbins seen GTF play? {Ed003's Note - Not his best season but to be fair he has been hampered by injuries}

Blackppol ~ Contract talks are ongoing with seven players - defenders Alex Baptiste, Kirk Broadfoot, Stephen Crainey and Neal Eardley, midfielders Barry Ferguson and Ludovic Sylvestre and striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher

Which other old blackpool players? if you are referring to southern then we would be glad to have him back if you do not appreciate him

All I'll say is wait and see

17 May 2013 12:26:04
Pulis Will leave Stoke at the end of the season with favourites to replace the Welshman as:

Martin O'neil - Stoke would want Neil Robertson as assistant
Gus Poyet
Roberto Di Matteo
Neil Lennon

Haha you mean John Robertson {Ed001's Note - considering you posted it, you should know who you meant!}

John Robertson don't you mean haha

No, no, no and no.

17 May 2013 12:18:21
Luke Murphy to sign for Aston Villa this summer. The clubs have recently agreed a pre-season fixture which will take place on the 26th July. As part of the deal, Crewe will take 19 year old Striker Graham Burke on loan.

The friendly was arranged because of the Westwood deal but Villa definately looking at Murphy

17 May 2013 12:17:37
Lee Novak to sign for Birmingham on a free; announced next week. Clarkey loved him at Huddersfield and Robins isn't too keen on him.

Think he wants football. couldn`t be guaranteed at hudds as down pecking order. would he be first choice at brum. I can`t see it.

Novak declined a new contract at Huddersfield on the basis that he wasn't getting enough game time, which would be the exact same situation at Birmingham so I doubt it

17 May 2013 07:34:04
Any Plymouth Argyle rumours Ed?

Yes. I was going to post this as a separate rumour but I'll just put it here. I've heard from a strongly linked insider (The same lad who told me about us signing Paris Cowan-Hall and Jamie Lowry before it was announced) that we've all but secured the services of Lee Miller of Carlisle.

17 May 2013 12:15:32
Ipswich Closing in on:
Nahki Wells - Bradford (Depending on play off result)
Richard Stearman - Wolves
Jay Tabb - Reading
Jacques Maghoma - Burton Albion
Harry Forrester - Brentford (Depending on play off result)

If wells is offered big champ salary he will be leaving bford regardless of play-off result.

I wish we could sign all of tem players. Although I also hoped that we would sign Alan Judge, and look how that turned out.

Wonder if Mcarthy may also go for Ebanks Blake after his releaese from wolves?

Give us more than £500k and a decent sell on and I'll drive Wells wherever you want

New to this board but read recently that ITFC will mostly be looking for frees. Tabb I'm not fussed about but Ebanks-Blake would be top of my list. Forrester a great addition depending on price.

17 May 2013 12:12:28
Steve Davis set for interview with Wolves! Hope it's just another one for the experience like he did at Burnley.

David Platt to takeover as Manager if he does go!

17 May 2013 12:28:42
Stoke are set to sign Birmingham defender Curtis Davies for £3 million

Can only see him going norwich

He's going to Hull, fee of 2mil already agreed and should be a tiger by the end of this month

17 May 2013 12:28:06
Stoke are Set to Rival West brom and are planning to Offer Argentinian Wigan Striker Franco di Santo a contract to stay in the premiership

Why would clubs in the prem be offering him deals he can't even get into a relegated first 11!

He is a young player with good feet and aerial presence, from a stoke fans view that automatically makes him twice as good as crouch

17 May 2013 12:27:11
Stoke are Set to Replace Tony Pulis With Martin Oneil, who is set to link back up with former assistant John Robertson

17 May 2013 12:24:39
Glenn Whelan is set to leave Stoke with Hull and Celtic interested in the international for £3 million

17 May 2013 17:24:28
Steven hunt back to hull and maybe silvan Eubanks Blake too both are on a free because wolves released them

17 May 2013 12:23:49
Jon Walters looks set for a Stoke Exit with Celtic, Hull, Cardiff and Norwich Interested in the hardworking Ireland International. A fee is believed to be close to £5 million

Ex Ipswich. The chances of him coming to norwich are incredibly slim

Nd 5 million abit steep for someone who works hard but lacks real prem quality

I wouldn't even think about getting Walters tbh especially not for 5 Mill he's like 28-29 years of age too how anyone rate him 5 Mill unless he was a class player

No chance Norwich are in for him. Goals to games ratio terrible and he's the penalty taker.

Stoke might well be trying to sell him but I can't see why Norwich would be interested.

17 May 2013 12:05:20
AFC bOURNEMOUTH board members met this week. All 3 Russians flew in to attend. I know because I saw them arrive at the ground. It was agreed that Eddie Howe would have full control over players (in/outs)
It was explained to me that there is a way around the issues that a small club who spends beyond what they earn from the gates but to be honest its best left to the accountants.
But the result is Eddie if he choses can bring in two or three big names from the Championship and we all know who he wants from Burnley.
Expect the unexpected in the next few weeks.
The rumours are rife around Dean Court at the moment and everyone is buzzing and hoping Eddie;s plan works out for him.
All the staff are feeling so positive
WATCH THIS SPACE

Yeah the way around the fair play rules is to issue more shares giving a bigger equity base, if the club is owned entirely by one person who is happy to put the money in no problem. However is there are multiply owners which I think is the case with Bournemouth, then this is added complication as either all the owners have to put in the same proportion of money, or those that do not will see a decreasing share of the club.

I doubt the 4-6 million needed to but the player from Burnley will easily be put up, so stop watching that space.

The way around the wage cap is for donations not loans so if those rusky's want to chuck money without a guaranteed return well that's up to them

Yeah he wants Bartley back and your welcome to him.

Quite how will they fund all these top players wages given the ffp rules being implemented. Have the wealthiest owner on planet it will make no odds with the lowest crowds in the division.

17 May 2013 14:34:09
Austin's wages will double after leaving Burnley, for a club with an unstable finance I can't see it happening

The chances are the only player Bournemouth will get from Burnleyis Bartley.

Another way is to arrange a huge sponsorship deal with ne of Max's companies!

Think most AFCB fans feel very uncomforatable with this financial situation but exciting following the rumours!

Put yourself in AUstin's shoes. Celtic or AFCB? if bournemouth fans think he's going to pick you over them or say sunderland/norwich/newcastle/hull/cardiff then your all deluded.

^ Not one Bournemouth fan thinks that tho.

17 May 2013 11:55:28
Celtics wantaway striker Mo Bangura is a free transfer target for Huddersfield Town after Mark Robins saw him in action recently in Sweden for his loan club Elfsborg. The Sierra Leone international winger/attacker has now fully recovered from the knee injury he sustained in a training game last year is thought to be seeking a new challenge away from the Scottish champions.

He's not out of contract he's got 18months left on his deal and is still out on loan until january next year.
dman

- Ronaldo to man united - 45mil + Hernandez
- Rooney - PSG - 30 mil
- Baines + Fellani to man united - 40 mil
- Bale - United - 30mil+Nani/Anderson
- Lewondoski - Byern Munich - 30 mil
- Nani - 20 Mil
- Hummels - Real Madrid - 30 mil
- Cavani - Man City - 50 mil
- Isco - Man city - 27 mil
- Fabregas - Man City 25 mil
- Falco - Chelsea - 50 mil
- Neymar - Real Madrid/Barca - 40 mil

All the above players as everyone knows will end up at bournemoth. jimlcfc {Ed003's Note - haha}

I think Real will want more than 45 + Hernandez. There is no chance United will get 20 mill for Nani. I also think United would be lucky to get 30 mill for Rooney and get Bale for 30mill plus an average squad player.

I think the rumours are decent just values are way off! i'm not even a united fan but am drooling over a potential midfield of Bale, Ronaldo and Fellani, playing behing Van Persie!

Falcao is going to Monaco along with James Rodriguez and Jackson Martinez.

How can Nani be part of a deal for Bale to come to Manchester United but also be sold for 20 mil?

Portsmouth Midfielder George Branford is undergoing a trial at Liverpool, the 18 year old impressed the reds whilst captaining Pompey's youth team to the league title this year

He is on holiday, so unless he can be in 2 places at once. derrrrrrrrr. wrong again

And he has just been given his 1st professional contract at Pompey!

17 May 2013 11:28:06
Just been told by my mate jerny meade he's going to Bristol on loan. Gutted wanted to see him try and push for the gooners this year. He's better than league 1.

17 May 2013 10:30:16
Arsenal Tottenham and Fulham are after watfords matej vydra who is yet to decide if he wants to return to parent club udinese, stay at current club watford or move elsewhere

Vydra will be staying at Watford next season. 5 year deal to be signed when he returns from Spain training camp!

17 May 2013 13:35:38
Only is Watford win the playoffs.

Aye, might be dependent on whether we get promoted however.

Arsenal don't spend the sort of cash Udinese will want

^^ If we don't go up this will not happen

He agreed a 4 and a half year deal in January?

Just waiting for the transfer embargo to be lifted to announce it?

Rubish some people put on here

Fulham couldn't afford him, and he would't want to go their either, he has enough options, but I see him staying ithwith Watford in the prem if they ge there.

I think the main factor is what Matej wants personally.

Isnt he good friends with BAttochio and Forestieri?

In my opinion VYDRA is not as good as he is made out he had a goal drought in championship which just could not happen for a team like arsenal or Tottenham. Sorry for such a negative post but I just don't think it can happen.

He didn't agree any deal in January, that was Forestieri as he was the only one of the loans signed permanently. Even if Watford do go up, Vydra wouldn't sign a 5 year deal at a club that'd go straight back down

17 May 2013 11:17:20
Jamie Vardy and Matt Fryatt are the latest in a long line of potential strikers to be linked with Huddersfield Town. Vardy is a player from the Yorkshire area - Halifax I think - so could be a good 'local product' and would find it easy to fit in.
Also heard Town may be about to take two Portugise players on trial after Mark Robins recent scouting trip there.
Liverpool have made enquiries about Duane Holmes and would offer to loan fringe players as part of any deal as well as a substantial fee - if he were to be sold to them.
The goalkeeping department is about to have a new recruit with Lee Camp (Norwich) believed to be targeted as is Frank Fielding (Derby)if Camp decides not to move to the John Smiths. This would mean Alex Smithies would be aloud to make a move to Reading with centre back Sean Morrison moving in the other direction.
All rumours of course but they may or may not happen!

We should keep Duane Holmes with us, then try fit him in our first team before selling which would be a really cheap price at this stage.

Vardy is from Sheffield and a big Wednesday fan. If he goes anywhere in yorkshire I'm guessing it will be Sheffield

17 May 2013 13:43:12
i rate alex smithies, but you won't get morrison, you can have church, and hunt though

Got too many gks and morro is our future so

I rate Smithies but Reading don't need another goalkeeper as we have McCarthy, Federici, Taylor and Andersen and even if 1-2 are moved on we will be fine in that area. Morrison won't leave us either he is a regular starter for us

Fryatt won't leave city. He's our only proven goalscorer, other than Aluko, and selling him would be footballing suicide.

Well we need at least three strikers, Vaughan plus two more and probably another on loan. We would be mad to let Holmes move now, he is a class above in the academy, we have to get some first team games from him before even thinking about letting him move. Smithies for Morrison would be a good deal, surely we can land another good keeper on a free until Ed Wilczynski gets a bit more experience.

Reading have many quality keepers so they don't need another one. Sean Morrison has started in defence for reading in the PL so why would he move to a small champ club.

Would rather Smithies AND Morrison, although Reading don't need a keeper as McCarthy is more than capable. Fryatt I wouldn't mind having, good striker before his injury. Duane Holmes won't leave, he's part of a big future plan put in place by Hoyle. Also, Robins has had scouts in a lot of places, so I think we can expect quite a few trialists coming and going within the next year.

Ipswich set to sign Jacques Maghoma on 2 year contract with option of 3rd year. Jay Tabb also due to sign next week.

Maghoma is signing for Boro deal will be revealed June 1st once window opens {Ed003's Note - July}

Middlwbarough have all but sealed a deal I heard

Middlesborough fans are good at making stuff up. No one has nearly signed him he is still very much available.

Boro have signed him. Why would he want to stall his career by coming to Ipswich. (Ipswich fan)

Boro are believed to be interested in him but no deal has been struck!

17 May 2013 10:42:58
Liverpool are after Honda of CSKA

17 May 2013 10:42:19
Hull City are in discussions over the following players:

Maloney and Boyce were with Steve Bruce back in his Wigan Athletic days and is keen to be reunited with them.

Leicester City shot stopper Kasper Schmeicel, son of Peter, has stated a clear desire to be a Premier League number one. Hull City are low on goalkeeping options and having a few Seasons with infrequent number ones and loanees, are desperate to have a regular number one.

West Bromich Albion are keen to offload the notorious want-away forward Peter Odemwingie with Hull City prime candidates to sign the Nigerian International. WBA boss Steve Clarke has said he will not be allowed to leave for anything less than his market price of £3million declaring WBA as "not a charity".

USA International Jozy Alitdore has been linked for a return to former Club Hull City in which he spent a Season on loan back in 2009/10. He has been in prolific form scoring 38 goals for Dutch Club Alkmaar Zaanstreek (AZ). He is apparently keen to return for another try at England's top tier.

Leicester have Said they will reject all offers for schmeichel and leicester will not do any buisness with Hull

If Odemwinge's wages were right I think that would be a great bit of business. Ignore what happend on transfer deadline day, look at his scoring record.

Schmeichel rumour keeps building momentum. I think he would be worth a punt.

Steve Harper is out of contract at Newcastle. I reckon he can still do a job in the Prem.

Maloney would be a brilliant signing. I think he would fit right in to our line up no problem.

Altidore is off to Real Betis and he wasn't that great last time he was here. Runs about a lot and holds the ball up well but couldn't finish for toffee last time round. I'm sure he's improved since then but I think he'd cost a lot and would be a gamble.

Maloney was signed by martinez not bruce

Maloney was signed by Martinez

I thought Hull wouldn't do business with leicester, or is that just pearson? Maybe they know something we don't know, pearson on his way out?

Odemwingie you can have him. Lazy. You'll love him until he decides he wants to move

17 May 2013 10:39:39
Mathias Kouo-Doumbe is set to agree a year contract. The versatile defender is just what Slade wants and he loves the London lifestyle.

Doubt it.

We have enough defenders as it is.

Nahki Wells will hand in a transfer request if he is not allowed to Join Burnley after talks between them happened this week {Ed003's Note - do you not think Wells might be a bit pre-occupied with other things this week? }

Hes already said he will be playing L1 football nxt season.

17 May 2013 09:45:55
AFC Wimbledon have set their sights on Arsenal's pacey young striker Nigel Neita. The move will depend on Neita not being offered a contract by Arsenal, he is expected to be released.

Attacking midfielder/occasional target man, Sam Wood released off wage bill at Dagenham-talk of Wimbledon with their lack of goals from midfield

Luton want to take Sammy Moore as their skipper next season-Osano rumoured to return as well

I thought Sam Wood played for Wycombe

Would love Nigel Neita

Sam Wood is at Wycombe so this must be false

Would be good meant to be really quick something we admittedly lack up front. Midson brings effort, finishing and is extremely good in the air but it would be good to add some pace. Sam Williams you mean. Don't think Sammy Moore will leave he was in the first team set up for us this season and a good player

Why would Sammy Moore ever go to Luton? Ridiculous rumour

Why would Sammy Moore go down a level?

Sam wood does play for Wycombe, not dagenham

17 May 2013 21:03:09
We tried for sam wood last summer, but couldn't afford him

21 May 2013 17:25:57
Got Wood?

17 May 2013 09:43:02
Paolo Di Canio has stated that he intends to sign 6 players in the summer I've got 5, they are Croatian LB Ivan Strinic, CBs Modibo Diakite & Valetin Roberge, Portuguese winger Diogo Viana & Burnley's Charlie Austin.

Can anyone tell me who the sixth signing might be?

Well you know nothing. heaton has signed a 3 year deal with the clarets

17 May 2013 09:41:47
My uncle works at LEP he says Brian Ellis was talking about interviewing Prestons first signing of the summer, Chris Humphrey

17 May 2013 12:12:53
what is your uncle called because brian ellis does not work for LEP anymore

Considering the LEP is 3 days behind every other news paper in the country. Maybe Brian didn't hear that Leeds & Wolves are now talking to Chris, who didn't sign a pre season contract

I would imagine Chris is holding out for the best deal and both those teams could offer better wages and a chance of winning something!

17 May 2013 21:53:05
I have spoken with Brian Ellis on social media, he is back at LEP to cover staff shortages but he is working in the news department and not sport and he has not heard anything about a new signing but will post on social media as always when he knows some news.

WHAT. this rumour isn't true?

Well that's really a surprise

17 May 2013 09:40:07
Crawley have moved quickly to sign Danny Hylton who was not offered a new contract at Aldershot.

Hylton is a good friend with Richard Low former CEO at Aldershot and now CEO at Crawey.

Deal to be announced in the next couple of weeks.

It can't be that quick of signing if the deal is announced in the next couple of weeks

17 May 2013 18:10:33
He has signed for crawley

17 May 2013 09:30:38
Tom Heaton has failed to agree terms with Burnley and is expected to extend his stay with Bristol for another year

Fail

signing confirmed

Think you will find he has signed a 2 yr deal with burnley with s further option to extend for an extra year. Jeeezzzzzzz

Signed today always was going to, and why would he stay at Bristol city in league 1?

Seems to have signed a three year deal

So BFC having formally announced that he's agreed terms and will sign a formal contract on July 1st when his Bristol City contract expires is just a massive 'con-job' then?

Just signed now mate

17 May 2013 16:08:54
According to bfc official website heaton has secured his deal

It was officially announced today he has signed a two year deal with Burnley with option for third year.

BBC states that he has now signed for Burnley, end of!

Even though he has finally signed.

Wba boss to get the job

17 May 2013 09:26:46
nathan ellington and michael chopra are on eddie howes with list, but says he wants them for experience, to help the players

If Eddie Howe signs this pair, especially Chopra he'll get one usless lump in the duke & one who is well over the top career wise & loves bench warming, and taking wages for nowt in return, and a bad influence on any younger players, would show how not to run your short football career

Eddie howe doesn't sign players like these, research his history - his ethos is developing young sides, generally with sell-on value to the club + with the backing we now have we're not going to be scraping the barrel signing over the hill players like ellington and chopra, howe is after better quality than that

He will never play under Adkins again

It wasn't adkins decision to get rid of sharp it was cortese, there is no reason for him not to play under adkins

burton to sign alex McDonald in the coming days and in advanced talks with matt Patterson and zola over new deals

Would be a massive boost if Calvin and Pato signed back on. MacDonald is ok and I believe would be welcomed back.

Zola not resigning for Burton.

Paterson wants to stay at Burton. Talks well ahead.

They need to get on and sign Pato as I am hearing Portsmouth and Leyton Orient are interested.

Ipswich now front runners for both Nahki Wells of Bradford and Jacques Maghoma of Burton Albion. Calvin Zola to Rotherham is a step closer after initial talks and Matt Paterson to Oxford United could still happen. All three Burton players could still stay at the Pirelli if Gary Rowett decides to stay as manager, both Wolves and Doncaster Rovers are interested in him.

We are NOT after Matt Patterson! We turned him down 2 years ago. And he is not the target man or goal poacher we are after!

Paterson is too good for Oxford, he will sign for a year at Burton then move onto bigger and better things.

Crawley striker Gary Alexander is set to sign for Portsmouth. The striker notched just 3 goalsin 18 games whil on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

No thanks we don't even need him

You don't want him

Doubt it, we have Agyemang and Craddock already, with Connoley almost done and dusted. Only way I could see this happening is if the latter opts to move elsewhere.

17 May 2013 06:56:53
Norwich look set to sign max grades for 1. 75 million in the next few days.

He's currently injured. Big one as well

Do you mean Max Gradel another ex Leeds player for Norwich

Gradel? I guess it is in keeping with our 'leeds 2009- 2011' theme. Don't think he'll be that cheap though

Do you mean Max Gradel of Leeds? if so, then there's no way that we are going to go and buy any more Leeds players, we are past buying championship level players and need to start looking at better quality, most buys this summer will come from abroad.

17 May 2013 16:14:41
He plays in France, so.

I hope not if so looks like another relegation battle for city

He plays at St Etienne. He has a cruciate ligament injury. He could be a target. It would be taking the mick a bit to have that many ex Leeds players in the squad but who knows as he's a left sided attacking player which we are in the market for as cover for Pilks.

If we want a left sided attacking player from St Etienne we might consider Mollo who is rumoured to be of interest to Fulham. If he's speaking to them he might well be on our radar too.

17 May 2013 05:09:06

INS
Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)

James McArthur (Wigan Athletic)
Abdisalam Ibrahim (Manchester City)
Romelu Lukaku (loan from Chelsea)
Modibo Diakite (Lazio)

17 May 2013 02:49:04
Kemy won't leave he well in the mix of the first team and de guzman said himself can't wait to make my move perminant

Tate was not good enough when Warnock was manager, so not a chance under Brian McD. Tate can go and work for Tetleys pulling beer carts

Dont think so don't wnt tate back was rubbish when he was on loan garbadge

No mention of a Williams out? Hope you're wrong about de Guzman, he's been a big part of our success this season!

Kirk broad foot about to sign for itfc

Tate to Leeds? No chance, Leeds have plenty of youth players who are better than Tate, milk turns quicker

Haha alan tate to leeds don't be silly as if we would sign him he was that rubbish earlier in the season we had to cut his loan spell short

Kemy is nowhere near first team, his fitness levels are poor.

I'm sure the entire footballing world knows that Leeds sent back Tate and Delph because Leees where in a dire financial situation. So before you believe that Leeds will be signing The best maybe you should remeber about your financial troubles

I love the outrage of the Leeds supporters at the Tate rumour. Just remember Tate was good enough to hold a place in a side that won promotion to the Premiership and had a reputation for keeping clean sheets. McDermot's side failed at the payoff because of a crab like defence and the whe he got promoted came back on te bounce

I thought tatey did alright for you - didn't your results start turning around when he signed?

Getting rid of tate had nothing to do with are finances you silly little boy if you new the ins and out then you would no that alan tate is garbage he has a arse like a baboon

To the last post you clearly know very little then delph leaving leeds had nothing to do with leeds not having the money it was to do with the fact that he picked up a knee injury do some research before spouting stuff that isn't true

Im sure the entire footballing world no why leeds sent back delph and tate back how wrong you were then buddy look it up tate simply was not good enough to wear the white shirt as for fab he picked up a serious injury

Leeds fans - this is a rumours site. Why are you having a go at, a player who has just given his all representing your club. Bit sad boys. Move on.

I thought Alan Tate did quite well for us but we, as a team, failed to defend as a back four. Good Championship player BUT if he wasn't getting regular football for Swansea then he was always going to be rusty when he turned up at ER.

Crystal Palace are prepared to use young impressive winger Jason Banton as the only replacement for star Wilfred Zaha, after Banton's fine form for Plymouth he had been recalled by Holloway himself. Premier League or not next season Palace WILL be using Banton as their replacement.

Most of their transfer funds are expected to be spent on a new striker to temporarily replace 30-goal Glenn Murray. Its no longer a rumour that Ben Basat of Tolouse is a target as well as Charlie Austin. Basat himself replied in being asked about the Palace situation saying 'Crystal Palace. It's a big club with big support. I would love a new challenge but we have not spoken with them or any of their officials yet. '

Sources: L'Equipe - Others

Lets get one thing clear first, Jason Banton was not in impressive form at Plymouth. He'd have struggled to fit into most League 2 sides and was one of the greediest players home park has seen, for the amount of chances he had every game on a plate he was poor, he should have easily had double his goals total, he's not a team player and is certainly not ready for the Championship, and I don't know what Holloway is thinking if he's planning on using him in the Premier League

I thought Palce were to sign Adomah from Bristol City as Zaha replacement?
