Stoke still looking to sign Jed Wallace from Portsmouth then send him back on 6 month loan

They need players for now not the future.

Stoke need both players for now & for the future. with the lack of transfer activity so far I expect us to sign at least 2/3 forward players (1 winger & 2 strikers) then sell Kenwyne Jones for £2/3million. seems like a nice enough guy but 5 goals in 50+ appearances over the last 2 seasons is not good enough. perhaps he should opt for Red Bull instead of Lilt! :)

Most of jones appearances are from the bench in the last 10 mins he a better striker than crouch he just needs service when jones is on form on CB in the leauge can deal with him

I thought Jed Wallace was staying at Portsmouth. Anyway I think that Stoke only need 1 winger and 1 striker. I would prefer Junior Hoilett and Troy Deeney but it looks like we are signing Mevlut Erdinc.

Jed Wallace is talking with pompey and expect to sign a new contract until 2017

Newcastle leading the race for Juventus striker Alessandro Matri, 28, and are also interested in Toby Alderwield of Ajax. We have put in bids for Anzhi trio Willian, Lucina Traore and Samuel Eto'o. However the only realistic signing of those three is Traore as Liverpool and Chelsea lead the race for Willian and Eto'o, respectively.

Matri signing for Napoli

19 Aug 2013 19:08:03
What a busy time kinnear has had with all the new signings is he arranging a last minute sale to get some money in first

18 Aug 2013 20:42:15
Bruno Andrade is set to rejoin Wycombe Wanderers on a season long loan from QPR. The deal looks to be completed before Wycombe's trip to Oxford United with Gareth Ainsworth keen to sign the youngster with Paris Cowan-Hall injured.

Southampton have signed pablo osvaldo from roma for £15m. Source - ssn. Fantastic signing for the saints

How do you know its a fantastic signing? He could be a complete cuckoo in the Prem.

I genuinly don't like this Signing. Been watching you tube and this bloke has a serious attitude - let's hope he doesn't think the team will be built around him and he knows Lambo is our No 7!

Should I support Southampton? Looking for an EPL team to follow
Great signings by the way for them

Where are all the people that said he wouldn't join 'small club Southampton'?

No you should not support the saints, unless your going to be there when times are hard. If we end up in league 1 again in 10years will you be there like the rest of us, not saying this will happen but don't get on the bus unless your going to stay on the bus. COYR

I posted yesterday expressing my doubts that we'd actually sign Pablo because of the time it seemed to be taking. Should've known i'd be wrong,
great work by our Chairman and staff,
apoligies to all the believers for my doubts, in future i'l be a little more positive.
What a season this could turn out to be.

Yes. Support Saints. A work in progress but with a real team ethic about the place and the humility of knowing what the lower divisions are like. Not to mention a long (not so storied) history and a possibly very bright future. Plus, you'll be able to follow players from the academy, to the Under-21s, and all the way into the first team. It's been a great experience over the past twenty years for me.

Yes the saints are great club to support and have a great future very exciting times!

Third highest spenders in EPL that speaks volumes Southampton will be the surprise package this year!!

I can see problems in the saints camp much as we need a good squad top players are not going to be happy sitting on the bench, now another striker in.

19 Aug 2013 13:31:20
QPR spent plenty of money. no surprises there.

Not to detract from what looks to be a rather exciting signing/coup for Southampton. Man seems to have a touch of the spectacular about him. Who cares if he has an attitude and might make a bit of mischief, the Saints dressing room could be as exciting as a Vicar's team party for all the humility and quiet, understated personalities.

If he does make trouble I reckon Punch will be involved, he definitely has an attitude!

19 Aug 2013 18:46:18
I guess with the new signings and the clubs wage bill the 80 million sky money is gone. Just hope the club don't end up like last time with money being collected in buckets to help it survive.

I don't think that if he has such a massive attitude problem Cortese would've spent the money on him. If he does have an attitude problem we have the people to sort him out. Look at Puncheon a while back! It's a great signing that shows ambition, support the club and stop criticising things before you know anything more than what you've seen on YouTube!

My oh my there is a lot of negative minds here. We just signed a top drawer international striker, and you whine about attitude and wages. Here said at the press conference that MP and the PL was his main reasons for signing. And if someone is unhappy he didn't specifically say he wanted to come to Southampton FC because it's a great clubs with great fans. Newsflash: He doesn't really know that yet, but he will in time.

^I agree, Cortese wouldn't have spent money on him if he thought he will upset the camp.
MoPo knows the player and they had a great time together at Espanyol.
He his a top quilty signing that will bag us goals.
For those who think we are spending to much money and are worring, don't. Cortese knows what he is doing, he had that meeting with the owners, they most defiantly discussed how much money to be spent.

On Saturday we had shaw chambers ward prowse lambert Rodrigues all young English talents the new signings have been self sustained by season ticket sells letting players leave and bringing talented youngsters on saints are one of the best run clubs in the uk and would not get themselves in money trouble ever onwards and upwards coyr

There is only one reason a player signs, money. Most players seem to be plagued with injurys I just wonder if saints are punching above their weight with these mega signings we have just got to trust it works out.

I agree it's great to see the young saints players coming through. just wish the prem league to 5 foreign players it will never happen with people all over the world watching the prem league

Looking on the bright side the BPL is bossing the transfer window now. The extra cash from Sky along with the financial troubles in Spain and Italy have seen to that.
If Saints can reach their target of 50% of their first team coming from their academy and the rest brought in then at least we will have the best of both worlds at Saints.
In a few years I bet the majority of England players will have been through our academy.

Good luck to puncheon, rated him but guess he wasn't in favour who's next

18 Aug 2013 19:19:41
Paul Konchesky is set to leave Leicester soon, Nigel Pearson to speak with him on Monday, believed to be to QPR

Good riddance. Got Bakayogo now and Taft. Konch has never looked solid at the back and get his wages off the books - might mean we can get someone else in

His move with Brighton has fallen through

As a Qpr fan I hope he goes to Brighton

18 Aug 2013 19:17:17
Osvaldo to Southampton is a done deal medical to be done mon/tues. 18m euros plus 2m euros bonuses. All over the Italian newspapers and news

He has sighed on a 4 year deal its on sky

18 Aug 2013 19:58:29
Great signing 40 million on players going to give it a shot

18 Aug 2013 19:13:46
Bristol City have made offers for Matt Hill and Leroy Lita.

, very nostalgic my side's are splitting with laughter. Hang on is it 2003 awesome, recession hasn't hit yet.
Seriously make up something realistic at least!

19 Aug 2013 15:28:32
On twitter this morning about signing Tim Ream from Bolton on loan any truth.

Any news on akos Buzsaky and Gary Monk yet? Hill and Lita you must be joking!

18 Aug 2013 18:08:42
League one side Walsall are close to signing former Chelsea youngster Samuel Bangura (18) on a one year deal, Bangura (can play both as a Lm and Rm) has been recommended to Walsall manager Dean Smith by blues reserve team manager Adrian Viveash (ex Walsall player)

I hope they sign him up. Great player watched him play a lot of times

18 Aug 2013 17:53:09
Gillingham looking at signing ross jenkins on a season long loan from watford. They are also looking at extending michael harriman loan to a season long loan sometime this week.

Forget a loan take him permanently he's a waste of space and the wage budget.

19 Aug 2013 08:13:54
I would expect us to try to keep Michael Harriman as he has been very good. We certainly need a central mid fielder so I imagine Jenkins would be avaiable as he was loaned out last season to Barnet and Plymouth.

Played in pre season game against us last year and looked very good, ild take him

18 Aug 2013 18:30:39
Roberto Martinez will only come in for wigans James McCarthy if he fellani and baines leave Everton then he will fork out 15million for the Irish midfielder

McCarthy deserves to play higher than Wigan

18 Aug 2013 18:26:31
swindon will appoint mark cooper as manager on monday. it is felt cooper has the ability to take the club falward. what the board have decided is that cooper will have an expierenced assistant. the new assistant will be announced tomorrow at the same time as cooper is announced. the new assistant will be peter reid who will be responsible for assisting and guiding cooper to success.

I think i'd rather peter reid was number 1 tbh - hope this is not true cooper will lead us to mid table oblivion at best

pearce or pulis would get us promoted this season. even ossie ardils would be preferable and wouldn't cost the earth

That will be a big mistake appointing cooper, league games reads played 3 lost 2, cup played 1 won 1 against league two opposition, but they will say we are playing nice football? Brilliant we will play nice football every week but will get beat as we are taking risks and over play especially at the back we have no plan B, coopers previous managerial career is not good reading either and has got his teams relegated or got the sack, what's the saying no smoke without fire.

We all know its Cooper, even though 1 win in 3 in the league and only two shots on Saturday, this tippy tappy passing around at the back will cost us

19 Aug 2013 12:06:36
Is does not matter who in charge they won't be able to get swindon up because of are penny pinching board we won't score enough goal for a start we need a striker similar to collins on about half his wages and does not cost anything

The manager will make all the difference, our squad with an addition of one or two more good strikers could easily get us in the top6/promoted this season. the board HAVE to realise this
AN ABSOLUTE NO TO COOPER

18 Aug 2013 18:57:35
Norwich are interested in Brescia striker Andrea Caracciolo according to football-italia

I hope not

18 Aug 2013 21:14:08
Slyvain Distain tweets "2 lucky goals from Norwich, going home with 1 point rather than 3".
Like to see what Everton would've done yesterday had they NOT had available, him (Distain), three of their best midfielders, and either Jelavic or Mirallis missing up front. which equates to us not having Bassong, Snoddy, Fer, Pilks and Hooper!
Thoughts please guys.

The Norwich goals were not lucky at all. Both needed a great deal of skill.

Just to add some perspective, Everton were without Alcaraz, Hibbert, Gibson & Gueye.

It's early I know but I'm disappointed with a home game against a team we beat last year and yet still we only managed two shots on target, two shots off target and 33% possession.

Alcaraz and Hibbert ain't in your best starting 11

Ok, take that point, but compared to who we had missing, think with a full strength squad for CH to selec from, we probably would've won that game on Saturday. Everton had a lot of possesion, but Ruddy didn't have a save to make until the final minute!

2 shots on and 2 off? hmm I was at a different game then, as were match of the day

To be fair we were lucky to beat them last term, and they are a quality side capable of top 6. will see a lot worse teams visit carrow rd this year I think

19 Aug 2013 14:22:13
A message for Distain, If you would have got your head to it mate Van Wolfswinkel would not have scored so put that on your twit account

18 Aug 2013 18:00:41
according to football italia Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has agreed to join southampton fc.

Great news hope its true coyr

18 Aug 2013 17:12:18
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has made a second bid for 23 year old striker Teemu Pukki from Schalke after admitting he hasn't give up on signing Gary Hooper's replacement

Speculation celtic are possibly going to get chicharito hernandez on a seasons loan, any truth in this?

^ ha, I'm a Celtic fan and season ticket holder and all I can say to this rumour is haha. NEVER going to happen

It will happen but we have to believe in our team

Am a Celtic fan, there every home game. Dublin for the Liverpool game. But a have had it with our poor transfers this season, we have a good team we just need one or two great players or this season will be very long with very little goals. What do you celtic fans think?

Celtic took in 20M in transfer fees and failed to invest in a striker and we are reaping what we sow - nothing! Now clubs know we are desperate we will pay over the odds -poor planning and disregard for fans as usual.

18 Aug 2013 17:09:57
Liverpool will make a move for Brazilian Forward Leandro Damiao if Arsenal or Tottenham win the race to sign highly rated Anzhi Striker Willian

£25m? Wow what a crazy quote? They paid £3m he played one good season why is he worth so much? Going on yesterday's form £10m is more than enough, forget Michu it seams Bony is the main man, I guess this came from a jump up deluded Swansea fan that thinks Swansea are going to win the Champions League next season. RB

18 Aug 2013 17:07:02
Arsenal have been told that they will have to pay £25 million for Swansea ace Michu and also have set their sights on Micah Richards From Man City

Again lazy journalism. Laudrup has told Michu isn't for sale even not for ridiculous money. Before that Laudrup mentioned an amount of at least £30m, but now it's too late in the window, so Michu is not for sale. FACT.

I doubt if Arsenal will make any significant signing. Dissent between boardroom & management over targets

I would like to agree that michu is not for sale but if a £25m bid comes in, it'll be hard to turn that down with a profit of £23m. to be made. Plus, if the player wants to join a 'bigger' club, the board will not stand in his way!
I think this season will go one of two ways, 1, michu will be found out and be lucky to get double figures netted or 2, he will thrive playing from the hole and show he's probably the best midfielder in the league.
Whichever Arsenal believe will determine if a genuine bid comes in and it'll all go from there (obviously)!

Some time ago Laudrup told the press that if someone would come in for one of our key players then they should not come 21st or 25th of august because that would be too late. No way Laudrup would sell at the end of the transfer window as he would not be able to bring in a proper replacement according to his own words. Laudrup is a man of his word.

Michu has already said that as long as Laudrup is there he will stay. He is an iconic figure in football which is why we have pulled in so many good players without hassle, everyone wants to play under him.

As for Ashley Williams I suspect he may leave purely on the reason of Champions League football at Arsenal, but if I'm honest I don't think Arsenal are assured that place at all anymore. Would be a massive blow to lose our captain but I think we have enough defensive talent to get by if he does leave.

It's getting towards that cut off point which I think Laudrup will stick to, I doubt we'll lose anyone the way it's going so far.

With Ash having played agains Malmo already, he would be cup tied for any European competition this season. If I were him, I'd wait til next year.

Not for sale arsenal go away

Huw Jenkins has said that he has no intention of selling to Arsenal or anyone else. In Huw we trust.

18 Aug 2013 17:03:58
Manchester United have set their sights on Real Madrid Brazilian midfielder Kaka after giving up on Cesc Fabregas, kaka is out of favour at Madrid and would probably sell him for a cheaper price

18 Aug 2013 16:58:25
Chesterfield set to sign Gary Mcsheffrey from Coventry City has already held talks at the Proact Stadium

Be a coup signing if we do, and also Sam Hird to Rotherham.

Always loved little sheff in a Cov shirt. A top man who should be playing football somewhere.

He's past his best but should do quite well for use in league 2

18 Aug 2013 23:01:51
Gary McSheffery has been at Chesterfield for talks, also Sam hird is set to join rotherham

From a spireite; why l/w? Is roberts out?

Hird and Mcsheffrey deals off

18 Aug 2013 16:37:55
possible new strikers Barnsley may sign:

Leroy Lita Swansea
Luke Moore Swansea
Federico Macheda Manchester United
Joe Mason Cardiff
Matty Fryatt Hull
Aaron McClean Hull
Billy Sharp Southampton
Ricardo Vaz Te West Ham

Also,

former Celtic midfielder Paddy McCourt and former Brighton midfielder Gary Dicker are both expected to sign 1 to 3 year contracts before the Blackburn game on Saturday

In your dreams

Dicker, yes. All the others, no

Barnsley aren't going to sign any of them apart from maybe Macheda or Moore but even then Macheda is maybe going to an Italian club

Your not getting mason, unless its on loan, but I highly doubt in

McCourt is more likely to go to Hibs. Too slow for the championship, and over-rated. Dicker would be a worthwhile signing, solid player at Brighton and did a good job.

Don't hold your breath, I will beleave it when I see it, unless they have played for Rochdale they won't be coming

Mccourts looking for a deal until end of January only. As he is for MLS.

Moore is looking at aclub in the far east

If you ain't got the money you ain't gunna get the quality

Far East?. That will be Norwich or Ipswich then lol.

Looks like Gary dicker played in the u21's against Leeds today

Joe mason no

Wont be signing any of these there cv don't match our criteria they haven't played for rochdale.
we are struggling to sign strikers in the summer of more free agents than ever before its a tough job finding peoeple with rochdale on there cv that we haven't already had

True, is Hill back you would think so with all the excuses Flitcroft is coming out with, sort it out soon or go Flitcroft

20 Aug 2013 14:46:19
paddy mccourt played for rochdale

Will people (I won't call you supporters as you're clearly not) stop having a go at Flitrcroft! How does someone quite rightly hailed as a Saviour after last season's Great Escape, go to being lambasted so unfairly. Beggars belief.

These people you won't call fans have an opinion like you do also there money at the turnstile is the same as yours

Why pay money to slate a team that you support. Support is the wrong word btw if your just going to slate them. If you want to have a rant at someone, have a rant at your wife! Flitcroft is a good manager!

18 Aug 2013 16:06:17
Victor Moses in talks with West Brom.

Would love to see Moses at the Albion

18 Aug 2013 21:22:11
Peace won't spend, but there again Clarke doesn't know what team to select anyway-some selections questionable? Substitutions should have been made earlier! We did well last year because we attacked teams as woy did-If not broken don't fix it-cheap appointment-the PEACE WAY. Continue as we are Clarke will be out by October-pity Peace won't be also!

Sinclair and moses on the wings, that would get us europa

Dont think we will get mosses got money but won't spend

18 Aug 2013 15:55:44
Jake Jervis has signed for Swindon Town. He signed Friday. He was at the CG with Ranger. Will be announced early this week.
Not here to argue. Just stating what is absolute fact. Have a good week.

Would love this to be true, great player

Be decent, just need a midfielder and a manager!

Would love it if this was true but if he signed Friday why would the club leave it until sometime this week to announce it rather than at the same time with ranger as he would have also been able to play.

This would be the missing piece in this league he will get 15 goals, add that to Rangers 15 and willo's 2 and we may have a chance of staying up

18 Aug 2013 15:54:05
Julian Gray training with Walsall. He was at the Notts game yesterday and comfirmed he is training and is hoping he gets offered a deal by (in his words) the tight chairman.

100% true. that he's here training

19 Aug 2013 13:38:54
And 100% TRUE, the chairman is tight!

18 Aug 2013 14:44:03
coventrys carl baker was at preston V mk dons yesterday dnt know why he was there

He put on his account before the game he was off on a scouting mission. Currently suspended so obviously doubling up as a scout while he's off the pitch!

18 Aug 2013 19:34:17
ok cheers for that

If SISU sell Clarkey I'd predict a riot. It makes no sense but then nothing SISU have done has ever made any sense.

18 Aug 2013 14:16:38
Bradford are set to bid for James constable from Oxford

I don't think he's good enough for Bradford

Interesting

Is this latest rumour on a par with the rumours that Matt Fryatt, Marlon Pack, Wes Thomas, Lee Camp and many others are also all joining Bradford? If they all happen, Bradford will have a squad only slightly smaller than Man City's at its peak

Would definitely suit our style of play and would provide much better competition to the front two than Connell or Gray.

Good League 2 striker; not good enough for League 1.

Constable wasn't supposed to be good enough for the Conference at first. Then he wasn't supposed to be good enough for League 2 at first (he's been the club's leading scorer for the last 5 years!). Now he's not supposed to be good enough for League 1. We'll see after this season!

Constable is a decent striker and would do a job for city, but I can't see him leaving oxford.

18 Aug 2013 14:14:32
Man city accept loan for John Gudietti to Brighton, his response is rumoured to be out by Wednesday.

Would be great but there's no confirmation of it anywhere

I hear Brighton can't afford his wanted wages :/

It's only on loan

Yeah from what I've heard he's on 55ka month without bonuses too much for brighton me thinks

We were told we couldn't afford Wayne Bridge's wages, we just paid 10% of it

Bridge was on 90k, we only paid 10k. If it is true, me thinks think again

Might be similar to bridge so city could pay a large chunk of his wages

The amount of wages won't effect the move - Brighton and Man City will have agreed how much they are to pay, and ( a big if ) this is true it will be a case of wether JG wants to play in the championship

18 Aug 2013 14:12:08
Hull, Celtic and Crystal Palace linked with Ashley Barnes for a fee around the 2 Million mark, also numerous amounts of bids for winger Lualua also around the 2 Million mark.

Lualua and Barnes won't leave

Why would palace won't those players

18 Aug 2013 20:07:13
Joke
Neither player worth anything like that much - half a mill players and not even regulars in a mid table side

Palace don't need mid table Championship players and for £2m they'd be better off with Bridcutt

19 Aug 2013 15:41:05
Better off getting bridcutt for two million
You wouldn't get half off his left leg for that price, you just spent 8 million on Gayle, two million your having a laugh, not for sale to south London team not millwall either,

19 Aug 2013 18:11:52
Palace should go for puncheon of Southampton he's likely to be sitting on the bench at st marys, also at a million McCormack of Leeds would be a steal.

19 Aug 2013 18:56:56
Amazing Andre moritz went to Bolton because palace wouldn't guarantee him a place in the first team, yet he is on the bench at Bolton. Maybe he got another signing on fee with freedman.

19 Aug 2013 20:57:25
Mosey had a penalty given against him, exacle the same thing in the man city Newcastle game NOT given same old consistency with refs

18 Aug 2013 14:02:37
Daniel Pachecho and Ricardo Vaz Te are the stirikers coming on loan to Barnsley. Paddy McCourt and Gary Dicker to both sign for the reds.

No way for vaz ta west ham want to sell him not loan him

Can't see vaz te coming back

Leroy lita on his way free transfer

19 Aug 2013 12:28:40
Good solid player dicker, he will do a good job for Barnsley, I wish the lad all the best for the future, Brighton fan,

If he's that 'good and solid' why are Brighton letting him go?

20 Aug 2013 10:06:41
Dicker was let go before new manager came in, your not paying a fee for him, I was surprised we let him leave,

Don't know how I'd feel about va te coming back. When players leave thinking you're no longer good enough after picking them off the scrap heap then don't think it's a good idea

18 Aug 2013 13:53:58
Pablo Osvaldo has agreed terms with Southamton. Expect official news of the signing within 24 hours.

18 Aug 2013 13:31:57
crystal palace set to sign former player and wigan defender emerson boyce

I hope not

I'm sure he's only just signed a new deal

He was a donkey for them yesterday

He's a donkey every game! They should be paying palace to take him!

19 Aug 2013 02:37:06
No respect for an ex player and a superb pro. Boyce is a true role model he can stay at Wigan were the fans appreciate him.

He's a Wigan legend, I don't see him leaving any time soon considering his family is settled and kids at school in the area.

Palace did well against against spurs but so missed both bolasie and Thomas can see them calling banton back if they don't get somebody soon.

18 Aug 2013 13:10:49
Blackpool planning on offering out of contract Merouane Zemmama a 1 year contract

Attacking mid, hope this is true. 1st team untill Claasen sorts out him work permit

Good luck with him he's lazy unproductive his only good point is he's a decent free kick taker

Did he used to play for boro

18 Aug 2013 12:44:20
Marco Fabian being linked again. Would be a good signing, he's an attacking midfielder, which is good cause we need better supply for the for forwards, but we need a striker and a winger still

18 Aug 2013 12:22:16
Derby County if they sell Will Hughes will go in for CB Scott Dann, RM Chris Burke and LB Danny Fox.

If Derby County sell Will Hughes the money will go where every other penny of the money has gone. Into the pockets of Shareholder's and Director's.

Derby. Never. Spend.

18 Aug 2013 20:09:32
All of this nonsense over a player who has yet to do anything - anyone paying more than a million is taking a gamble -

It's not nonsense if the market's there. And, judging by the teams that have scouted him, the market is very much there for an 8-figure fee.

If Dann moves it will only be to a Premier League team.

Rumours going around that Forest are looking at Will Hughes lol

That would go down well.

The board and the directors have not take even 1p out. You can easily see the break down of our finances online

Dann would cost way too much. They paid 7mil for him

If Derby don't spend the money it will pay the dept. for Pride Park

There seems to be various rumours about *a* player to be sold before the transfer window.

Ward, Sammon, Hendrick or Hughes are the *guesses* so far.

18 Aug 2013 12:14:41
As well as Dani Pacheco, Barnsley are also rumoured l be interested in former SWFC striker Leroy Lita, with Lita being available on a free transfer this would be a good fit and also is another Premier league striker who they're rumoured to be after

Lita too expensive, rest untried

18 Aug 2013 11:22:04
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson is set to freshen his squad up with 3 incoming players and 6 outgoing.

Incoming
Paul Taylor - Ipswich loan until Jan 1st
Luke Freeman - Stevenage - £300k + Emile Sinclair
Stevie May - St Johnstone - £500k

Outgoing
Nicky Ajose - St Johnstone - Free
Emile Sinclair - Stevenage - part of the deal for Freeman
Tyrone Barnett - Blackburn/Bolton/Sheffield Wednesday - £850k
Mendez-Laing - Notts County - Loan
Peter Grant - Cambridge Utd - Loan
Shaq McDonald - Wrexham - Loan

We (Sheff Wed) ant got a pot to pee in, never mind 850k to spend on one player

This all makes sense. Be interested to see how close your predictions are

There is no chance on this earth paul taylor will be willing to drop down a league and play for Peterborough so re check your info source

No way will we loan Paul Taylor back got to be joking

May seems very likely, but Freeman unlikely as MacAnthony keeps publicly denying all interest.

He came on as sub yesterday for 23 minutes and then got subbed, Mick McC said he wasn't injured. Taylor needs to be playing for a manager that can manage him.

The Tyrone Barnett one is interesting as in the last 4 games he has scored twice and seems to all of a sudden become a Fergie favourite as he can knock down long balls for Assambalonga to run on to. Has to be said he can show some ball control but passing is not necessarily a strong point. He should have scored on Saturday too with header just over the bar. I think Fergie may decide to keep him despite him being on the transfer list unless the last few weeks have been all about putting him in the shop window. I can see Sinclair and Ajose going and Grant and McDonald going on loan. Mendez-Laing came back to the club unfit so if he is at the stage where he needs minutes on the pitch then I can see him going on loan too.

Ok Paul Taylor we don't want him back!

Luke Freeman, bout time this rumor finished started years ago and it would of happened already if it was going to.

Stevie May would be a good signing but 500K seems a bit much tbf.

Nicky Ajose pretty sure we would expect a fee

Sinclair, will only go if we get another striker

Barrnett could happen depends if someone puts up enough cash

Mendez-Laing could be a short loan to help him get fit

Peter Grant would be good for him

Shaq McDonald would be good for him

What a load of rubbish. Mendez laing won't be going anywhere and Paul Taylor certainly won't be coming back!

Who is we? in we don't want him back I would have him in a flash, exactly the man we need to boss this league tomlin taylor and swanson they want stop them 3 in the champ never mind league 1

Maybe covered the Ajose transfer fee with loan fees for him last season.

All of this is rubbish - apart from barnett (that's why he's playing-to get a club to buy him)

May is the only likely one.

We? We means more than 1, where as you are only 1. not a bad player but has a terible attitude can't pass a football rubbish in link up play and would only make the bench in the current posh squad

I would happily drive Mendez-Laing to his next club and pick Paul Taylor up on the way back (on the basis that if he causes a stir whilst he's here, we send him back to the gutter he came from)

DMAC & DF both have said Taylor never caused any problems at London Toad

Attitude not key attribute in a loan deal and he would be in the 11

Posh have no interest in reigniting there offer for freeman

West Brom will sign Sinclair and Moses this week. Also they haven't given up on Kalou as Lille need to sell as they can"t afford him.
Would expect some to go though if all 3 come in. Odemwingie will go also Rosenberg who still hasn't convinced even after a decent pre-season.

Believe it when I see it, those 2 would be perfect width is a must otherwise we will struggle this season forget a top half finish, splash the cash Peace!

Its alright saying them 2 would be perfect for width. I agree, but we can't rely on them 2, if 1 gets injured we are screwed again. we need a couple new faces in or were back to fighting for our premiership lives.

I agree we do maybe need more but it's not going to happen with PEACE! well b lucky if 2 New faces come in I believe the squad is strong enough to cope but not for a top half finish we will struggle without width, PO added an outlet an he's as good as gone and Gera can't stay fit if we're to improve or at least match last season Sinclair and Moses are step in the right direction proven pedigree

19 Aug 2013 22:07:28
We wouldn't go for Sinclair AND Moses, just one of them probably Sinclair

18 Aug 2013 11:13:08
anything on montero as we could use a player like him judgeing from the way we played against west ham

Totaly agree shocking first half, bellars poor Connelly not prem rb each time ball outside penalty box a West ham player on ball but sure mm will sort it out

Malky get a move on

St Mirren are looking to take Gary O'connor on trial with a view of a pay as you play deal.
They are also looking at 2 players from Moldova.

Jack cork going to Fulham before the transfer deadline

Well I've heard that whittingham is going

I hope neither of those are coming. If I had to choose one it would be Cork.

Cork would be a class signing!

Where you heard this from?

21 Aug 2013 14:34:04
Fulham after West Brom defender, Liam Ridgewell

Arsenal Enter Race To Sign Controversial Italian Striker osvaldo For 15 Million

Watford to loan Sean Murray to Sheffield Utd.

Good move for the lad if he's prepared to move up north. Absolutely class act I think watford see him as the long term replacement for abdi, hard getting into the side at he moment with Mcgugan and abdi, he'll tare that league a new one could easily rip the championship apart. Definitely needs game time. Sheffield utd

Not sure what to make of this. Would be a good move for Murray but he could possibly make a push for the starting 11 if he performs more like he did against Bristol Rovers

18 Aug 2013 20:11:06
Never going to happen - far too good for league 1

He's not getting game time, which suggests a move. I agree, too good for league 1. I think we'll sell him for £2.5m to Cardiff. Malky knows what he's about and decent money with buy back written in like Britt.

We won't sell him at all- let alone for £2.5 million. He has a bright future in the next couple of seasons, now that he's fit again. Just seeing him against Bristol Rovers showed his class but I agree with a loan to a top league 1 club as he's behind Abdi at the club

21 year old Belgian striker Maxime Lestienne on his way to Bournemouth from Club Brugge. Host accommodation has already been confirmed.

I saw he's a winger not a striker

He's a winger

Left Wing & no chance

He's valued at 9million euros. Are you sure he's not just booked a holiday? Can't see that happening.

18 Aug 2013 18:56:41
you sure he's a striker, is he a winger?

18 Aug 2013 21:52:00
not the big man were really after is he

Middlesbrough are preparing a bid for MK Dons playmaker Shaun Williams. Doncaster are also believed to be interested.

Playmaker?! He's been turned into a centre half for over three seasons. Could be a good midfielder still but Boro won't take the risk.

Scored 11 in 83 for a league 1 side. No thanks

"Scored 11 in 83 for a league 1 side. No thanks"

Most of them were penalties too. (Our regular taker, in fact). Surprised Boro and Doncaster are thinking of him as a playmaker when there's Gleeson in our side who's just as "available" if the right offer was made. He's the reason Williams has been converted to a centre half.

SIMPLY. not good enough. move on!

Simply not good enough?! He wouldn't look out of place at any Championship clubs. This is Middlesborough, come on.

11 in 83. he's not a play maker he's a centre back. That's why. And if you haven't seen him play you can't say he's not good enough

I agree we need better. Not going into detail on what players we need because 99 % of boro fans know what visions we have as fans.

We have a play maker in Ledesma so why not give him some game time. Mogga confuses the life out of me as that's why he got LEDESMA in the first place.

Mowbray has clearly stated he needs another defensive player. If Shaun Williams fits the bill. then why not? There are plenty of gems in League 1 or 2. Mustapha Carayol, George Friend, Curtis Main and Albert Adomah.

Hope Boro get the right players that we need to get out of the Championship. Pedigree is not important. Attitude, chemistry and desire to win go a long way too!

Mowbray has built a better squad this season than last season, So who ever he brings in now will be beaches it fits in with his tactics! Stop Moaning

Don't know him but 11 from 83 for a centre half suggests he's good at set pieces. Just what we need
Hopeful!

Was his grandad Jimmy Seal who used to play for York and Darlo?

Arsenal will reignite their interest in Asmir Begovic and may even attempt to purchase Ryan Shawcross.

However, they will have to spend over the odds for either or both players.

Neither player has enough quality for Arsene - not going to happen. Begovic - average / Shawcross not even that

Begovic probably the most consistent goalkeeper in the premier league last year and is an outstanding goalkeeper. Would do at the back what van Persie did up front for arsenal. Shawcross you may have a point, may not have the quality needed by arsenal but would be a no nonsense defender, perhaps in the same mould as Steve bould. Also once of the mighty potters

Cant see arsenal buying shawcross when aaron ramsey is still there

Hearing from a source within Brighton & Hove Albion, that they're close to signing a left winger/forward from a top 10 la liga side, he's a little older at 29, but his contract is coming to an end and is eager to move to England.

Brighton aren't the only ones apparently interested, as possibly Derby and Leeds maybe interested.

Once a name and club are confirmed, I'll update.

Brighton are favourets of getting that player

Reyes? .

How come we only hear of Moses here? Was he really at the Southampton game?

Reyes, really? I'll eat my brighton shirt if that happens. He could easily still get premier league football. Unrealistic unfortunately

Now, I would think manu del moral but he is on loan somewhere. it seems like Reyes but I don't think this will happen.

If it's anyone of any quality he won't be going to Derby. Maybe Leeds or Brighton.

Reyes? lol Great shout. Perhaps it's David Villa or Iniesta.

Wont be Reyes, he's contracted until 2015

Jose Antonio Reyes? He was eager to GET OUT of England plus he's under contract until 2015.

Leeds ahead of Derby? Good joke, Leeds are a mess.

Ronaldo is holding on signing a contract at madrid Manchester United are favs but never say never.

OP here: Not Reyes, out of our budget from what I have heard (which, btw isn't as bad as what some fans may think it is, and especially the previous manager bloke. We've taken a more cautioned approach to signing players due to flops such as Harley and Dobbie who were on fairly high wages between 9-12k p/w)

I'm at work tomorrow so if I bump into him on the commute. I'll dig a little deeper.

I only said Leeds maybe interested, but as you said. They're a mess; Derby maybe in contention given their budget is similar to Brighton's.

I do believe it's Diego Castro, but he's 31. Has a decent goal scoring record.

I'll update this further on my lunch break.

Diego costa is on 50k euros a month a bit expensive for a 31 year old rather have guidetti on losn

Still waiting for the update from lunch time lol

Derby have just as much money as both them clubs

Leeds have no money erm think again just signed wootton for a seven figure fee

^ Wooton is a good signing for Leeds. I get the impression that Leeds are the type of club who will ignore FFP and hope the penalties aren't that harsh. I remember going to Elland Road when they had those points deducted, and their programme pretended they hadn't had any points deducted. Hilarious

Middlesbrough want west ham's Ricardo Vaz Te on a loan deal with a look to a permanent move.

Hope so, Very proven in the championship

I wouldn't mind vaz, not keen on loan signings thou.

I heard the Boro have put a bid in for Ron Seal he's a great finisher!

Would take him in a heartbeat but reckon he'll go to Forrest, could be wrong though

Hope we get Seal. hit the woodwork a few times last season but otherwise prolific

Be a really good singning for the boro mowbray says he wants a top 6 finish well get this deal sealed and get luke williams out on loan

Ronseal is a British wood stain and preservative manufacturer, responsible for
the "Does exactly what it says on the tin"

Oway lads surely not lol!

Yuffy.

Seal does exactly what it says on the tin. gr8 player

Not to clever with his runs though

Rotherham have made an enquiry to take Doncaster's Kyle Bennett on loan.

Rotherham are after a Defender and possibly a striker. Not another midfielder.

They can have him for free he thinks he's better then he actually is

Rotherham are in for ex Doncaster and current Chesterfield FC centre back Sam Hird. Deal almost done and he is playing very well.

Please take kyle Bennett Rotherham
he needs match practise so when he drops to a team in the conference wich is his level he will be ready to play. don't know why Doncaster gave him a two year contract.

What about micheal duberry, he a free agent and would do a job for us, I no he's 37,

Ill drive Bennett to rotheham myself

When we played Donny last season (pre season) he looked a lively little player, I think he scored as well.

No good then?

Nahh he's not really that good, he's not really that fast either, can't really cross hardly scores and lazy I'd rather him leave he's behind cotts copps Duffy in my eyes

The reason he would have played well in a pre season friendly is that it would have been against a lower level team and that is his level.
He struggled to make an impact in league One and will certainly not make the grade in the Championship.
At times he looks like a boy playing in a mans league.
